Traffic Time

I hope y'all are ready to be reminded that I am traffic life trash because boy we are going for a ride.

I was on Tumblr hiatus throughout most of 2021 and 2022, so y'all didn't get to see me liveblog Double Life and Limited Life (I'll have to dig up the doodles I posted on other platforms... I also did a ton of Naked and Scared and Skyblock doodles because... Imp and Skizz my beloveds <3), but I plan to reblog stuff to this blog too.

I've also got a shiny new Life fan series 'fic ready to go. It's called Dog's Life and it'll update Tuesdays. Is this the dawn of a new era where I actually post short chapters?? idk

At the moment I'm just planning the one 'fic since I don't have a lot of plans to mess with the world itself and all I really want to do is a character analysis 'fic about arranged marriages and consensual murder, but I'd love to write one nice 'fic for all my fandoms before I retire from 'fic writing someday, so here we go!

My queue is already full of 200+ posts of my usual fandom content, so that's not going away- I'm just throwing a new fandom into the mix because... when you love relationship drama combined with unhinged violence as much as I do but you've got a blood phobia, then man is it nice to have a SFW, blood-free fighting series to sink your teeth in <3

I do highly recommend giving 3rd Life [AKA Traffic Life Season 1] a chance if you haven't before because it's a lot of fun-- I feel like it has a similar vibe to my writing style which is very "large cast of characters," "relationship drama," "up and down emotional jolts," "domestic stuff," "fluff pivoting into angst," and "magical realism," so if you follow this blog and enjoy my other fanfics, maybe you'll like the Life series too.

Okay, I needed to get my whump out before I touched omegaverse Jaskier and Milek with it, soo... back to those two!

Geralt is not having a good time; and it was said before, but seldomly shown, but. Julian is pretty detached and cold at times. Jaskier has a lot of empathy, but at his current state he can be very dismissive, even annoyed at times, when something rattles his defences. i can’t remember if i ever actually made the Ravenous Ghost Bell analysis post, but i wish i had time to make it because i feel like it would be received well in this moment…

#i mean… tldr: ghosts are real in Ravenous #mostly in the heads of the people who ate them #both to harass them in nightmares but also to influence their physical actions #(usually as an echo of something they themselves did in life)#there are COUNTLESS examples of this - which i will give the highlights of when i actually DO make the post #but there’s specifically a moment in the final Boyd-Ives showdown where a bell is rung #and we don’t see who rang it but it causes Boyd to focus and draws him to the barn where he sees the bear trap and is Inspired #and we can presume that the bear trap was Reich’s idea (based on that deleted bear trap shooting scene that i made the gifset of)#but then WHO rang the bell??#obviously it is implied to (and must have been) Ives #but why did he do it?#to get Boyd’s attention - naturally… sounds like him #he knows that time is ticking… wants to lure Boyd to his trap #BUT the thing is that Ives ate Reich too #and i feel like (being a long-time cannibal with no moral compass) he is probably Less influenced by the people he eats than Boyd is #but i also like to think that - in that moment - Reich subconsciously influenced him to do it #because - notably - Reich was the one who rung that bell the last time he left Fort Spencer - he’s the only character we see so it #so like. tldr again: ghosts are Real in Ravenous and Reich’s ghost rung the bell in that scene #to help Boyd focus and lead him to the solution that would give him the upper hand in the conflict to defeat Ives #and someday i will write ALL of that up properly - but it’s just SO good and i love to talk about it #so here i am #ghostposting the night away…#not tagging this because i want the REAL analysis to get notes whenever i post that #but feel FREE to chat with me about this if you see it!#i love Ravenous and i miss talking about it #i have SO much to say lol

Do Sweet Pea justice one of these days she's such a sweet girl #I still love that she's made of almond BARK white chocolate - so she can lick her own paws hehehe #Konpeitoad is wider than they are tall really - still counts for medium sized just an outlier is all! Still cute tho #They're probably one of the ones I most want to draw digitally as well since I can imagine their colour palette easily haha #Cute purpley and cream toad skin with rainbow konpeito warts and clear bubble-cheeks hehe <3 They're very cute!#Barnaby too - he's got a strong mint colour palette! Lots of greens and whites! Still such a fun and cute lad with all his segmentation #Also finally cleaned up the Mercandy's amezaiku catfish design a bit - better fins!#It's a bit funny as well since Marshmallow Fluff originally had a mint colour palette as well until I simplified her design :P Things!#Wafer's largely unchanged tho ♪ Seeing them near each other I kinda wanna draw him and Sweet Pea playing now hehe ♥#Finally Taffy! more and more it makes me kind of uncomfortable (for lack of a better/softer word) to call my own characters ‘ocs’. because like. they’re from a completely original universe and from completely original intertwined stories and all that. so why would i have to specify they’re original in the same way someone would when referring to a character they made for a pre-existing non-original universe/franchise/whatever? by that logic every fiction author ever would be referring to their characters as ocs rather than just. their characters. you know.

#i guess you could say it’s different or something because I haven’t published any one Solid Official Work yet or anything but.#I don’t think that particularly matters? cause then you just get into policing what does and doesn’t count as Real and Official and that #inevitably doesn’t do anything good #idk man I know the term Original Character isn’t technically incorrect in my case but. I just feel like that term was created to separate #fandom creations from their source’s canon. or maybe to describe characters that don’t come from any particular established universe #or story at all (fandom or otherwise).#cause otherwise. why shouldn’t I just be calling them my characters. the characters from my universe and my works. which are #established and incorporated. it’s definitely not properly organized or set up for true publication (at least not yet. definitely possible #I’ll publish something as a consumable structured thing someday)#you just don’t hear established authors calling their characters ocs. because why should they? the original part is sort of a given.#hopefully anyway #anywayyuyyyyyyeuyyyhh sorry this is not important just has been on my mind the last few weeks or few months or more #kibumblabs #I guess there’s also a difference maybe between making characters for the sake of making characters- and those being ocs- versus #characters that are developed as part of a larger work/story #I definitely feel like there’s a difference between the two and how they should be labelled (but im not saying one is more valid than the #other or anything like that.)#like when I see a poll that’s like ‘how many ocs do you have’ I just kinda sit there cause that question. doesn’t make sense in #my situation at all. because it’s the same as asking the author of a fiction novel that question. what do I count as my ‘oc’#would that mean my primary characters? or vaguely my primary and secondaryish ones? or do you mean every single character mentioned #regardless of importance or prevalence? every single named parent or grandparent or boss or childhood friend or one night stand or etc etc #I feel like it’s weird to call those characters ‘ocs’ in the way the question is implying. but then what DOES count? it just doesn’t make #sense for something like this. right? it irks me a little
