It’s probably set in Kalos but maybe that’s all where they came from and they moved to Galar..? Kalos is based on like- France right? I like Galar though.. the camping elements could be cute.. you guys decide I guess

Marinette: Ledyba(basically tiki), Leavanny, Orbeetle, (then I can imagine she’s the kind of person to just pick up random Pokémon she saved) Dratini, Chinchou—She originally wanted to stay home but showed how talent with being a trainer and also being a Pokémon Performer! She makes all of them costumes and has her own little following of fans. It’s very humbling.

Adrien: Litten, Absol, Goomy(Nino gave it to him. Gabriel hates it but Adrien absolutely ADORES it), Duskskull—Traveling with Nino and Marinette after running away from home to become a trainer (Nathalie helped), falls in love with Marinette after getting his ass handed to her

Alya: Braixen, Vulpix, Espeon, Pikachu, Rotom(in her phone)—Is working on a blog to share Pokémon to the world, but ran into the whatever Villain Team and gets saved by the Best Friend squad, making her join, surprisingly clever

Nino: Frogadier, Wartortle, Roggenrolla, Spheal—Mom friend of the fucking team and he’s tired but he loves these guys. All of his Pokémon know how to dance or groove/vibe in some way. Even the Spheal. That boy flops like a mad lad. He loves them all and he calls them his dudes.

Chloe: Vespiqueen, Ribombee, Ampharos, traveling with an egg—Also a Pokémon performer, a little over the top, but it’s cause of Audrey’s crushing demands and expectations, Marinette helps teach her that it’s okay to like things her mother doesn’t like. She joins the Miracuteam when Sabrina goes off on her own.

Sabrina: Arcanine, Furfrou, Luxray—Used to travel with Chloe as a duo but decides that she wants to go off on her own for a while, becomes Chloe’s friendly rival.

Alix: Rabbot, Yamask, Sigilpyh, (and her fossils) Carnidos, Archen, Tyrunt—Her father works and studies fossils. She thinks it’s cool and all but wanted to put them to good use. Became a trainer to show fossil Pokémon their coolness, and also show her own strength, as she was just seen as the “Curator’s little girl”. She’s traveling with Kim because he had no idea who she was and she liked that. Unfortunately that changed when Max joined but it’s fine. She’s secretly rich thanks to this and it’s funny when she takes people home and they flip out.

Kim: Grooky(He’s a proud monkey dad), Tentacruel, Luvdisk, Deino(given by Alix)—On a journey to get stronger and impress his family and his peers. He had no idea who Alix was when he met her but when he learned who she was from Max he absolutely flipped- and then went back to normal, much to Max’s surprise and Alix’s relief.

Max: Rotom(yes it’s named Markov)—He’s less of a trainer and more of a researcher, he’s joined Alix and Kim when they saved him. He recognized Alix to be the Curator’s Daughter and she freaks out. He’s baffled by her and can’t see her as someone other than the genius’s kid for a while until they become better friends

Ivan: Rolycoly, Golem, Rockruff, Cubone, Steelix—Traveling with Mylene, likes picking up small Pokémon to raise cause he’s a softy

Myelne: Audino, Cleffa, Togepi, Alolan Grimer—Traveling with Ivan to face her fears, working to become an actress

Juleka: Mismagius, Hattrene, Frillish, Ghastly, Sylveon(unexpected thanks to her goth aesthetic but it loves her so it’s fine)—Working to become a Ghost Gym leader and Rose is tagging along. Intimidating until not, basically Marnie.

Rose: Snom, Tepig, Snubbul, Munna, Mimikyu(She found it and showers it with affection)—She met Juleka one day and swore to herself she was going to marry that tall goth and climb her like a tree. Likes to collect “ugly” Pokémon because she likes them and thinks they’re cute.

Nathaniel: Eevee(Marc gave him this one, it’s a brat but they love their child), Smeargle, Pichu—On a journey to get out of the house and collect artist inspiration, might join Alix, Kim, and Max but they’re just friends for now.

Lila: Zorua, Thievul, Umbreon—In it for the fame, performer who’s a rival to Marinette, though its more respectful now. She’s still jealous of Marinette but she isn’t gonna go out of her way to sabotage.

(Extras)

Ondine: Primarina, Vaporeon, Lapras, Oshawatt, Quagmire, Mantine—Swimmer and friend of Kim. She covers for the Water gym while Luka is away.

Marc: ALL OF THE EEVEELUTIONS—Don’t ask where they got so many eevees. They just do.

Aurore: Gardevoir, Castform, Psyduck, Seviper(you bet your ass Mirielle has a Zangoose)—Performer who’s rivaled with Mirelle.

Luka: Gyarados, Milotic, Slowbro, Goodra(given by Kagami), Greninja, Drednaw—The water type gym leader. He’s gotta support his FAM. Very chill and proud of his sister. Accidental rivals with Kagami but ends up traveling with her for a bit.

Kagami: Garchomp, Fraxure, Kingdra(given by Luka), Noivern, Salamance, Dragonite—The Dragon Type gym leader. Her mom forced her into it, and while she’s good at it, she has no true passion for it. She hates how chill and unserious Luka can be with his duties but it comes from her being jealous of his freedom. Eventually goes on a journey to find her true passion, and Luka joins her.

(Extra Extras) Gabriel: Volcarona, Venomoth, Dustox, Cofagrius (GET IT- CAUSE HIS WIFE IS IN A FUCKING COFFIN HAH-)—Probably the leader of the villain gang. Lusamine style.

Nathalie: Altaria, Decidueye—Vice leader of the villain gang but she gives a shit about Adrien so she helps him escape. She also probably backstabs Gabriel at some point.

Felix: Purrloin, Meowth—Bitch

Party Dancecapades! (Another View) Fic

Summary: This is meant to take place during XYZ Episode 12 aka “the dance episode”. We know Misty and Brock got their Mega Stones and learned about Mega Evolution before the end of the first season of Sun & Moon. Who knows though if they came to Kalos to get them? And could it have been around the same time Ash was in Kalos? Anything’s possible right??

Misty stood in the crowd overlooking the spectacular venue. This sure was Kalos all right. The palace itself looked like something from one of her many post cards. The architecture, the ambiance, the romanticism of it all. She was sure the air just smelled like sweet foreign pastries although, it could be because she was standing right next to the assorted treats and drinks they had laid out across a large table and stretched on from one end of the ball room to another; for the hungry party goers.

She grabbed a delicious and colorful pistachio macaron that matched the color of her long elegant ball gown; savoring the moment and the scene upon her before she would get back to the dance floor. This really had to be a dream. She couldn’t believe that she was actually in this region and that she got to be here and feel like a princess for a day. I guess she had both she’d hate to admit it but her sisters and even Gary Oak to thank for that.

“Bonjour Misty, get packin’!”

“Gary?”

Yea it’s me who else? Listen I’m thinking about taking a trip up to Kalos to learn a thing or two about Mega Evolution. There’s a lot more to it then just special effects you know? I think it would be good for you as a gym leader and all seeing as you need to sharpen your skills a bit—”

“—Hey!”

“And bring Brocky Boy along with ya! Might as well keep him up to date.

“I have you on speaker Gary he’s right here…

"I hate that nickname you know.”

"Yea yea meet me at the lab at eight and don’t be late!”

“What? What’s up?”

“I don’t know Brock all those Kaloisian girls…”

“Misty! Who do you think I am? I am going there to explore new possibilities In Pokémon medicine!”

She raised an eyebrow. “Your going there to explore something alright. Behave yourself you got that!”

They may not have all been exceptionally close friends, but ever since Tracey was always going to Cerulean to visit Daisy and Gary needed to also meet up with his grandfathers ambitious assistant to help him with something or to take something back to the oak lab. He would always run into Misty and by extension sometimes Brock who would visit his friends on most occasions and talk to them both about the latest information in Pokémon medicine and all the water Pokémon at the gym. Not to mention the occasional Pokémon battles to keep skills sharp and engage in some “friendly competition”, and not to also be forgotten all the holiday gatherings from Pallet and Cerulean. They’ve all became connected and closer.

So when Gary had told her about the possible discovered mega stones for water Pokémon that could perform Mega Evolution including Gyaradosite, there was no way Misty could pass that opportunity up. Unfortunately, for her though, any mention of a trip to Kalos was not something her world famous “sensational sisters” sisters could pass up on either.

“So like where are you going in such a hurry. Oh! Did Ash come back home? Are you headed over to Pallet town? Cause like then w—”

“No.”

“No?”

“No! And it’s none of your business now move out of the way!”

“Now hold it right there little sister! If we are gonna like have to babysit this gym and have to battle and stuff I think we have like the right to know!”

Misty rubbed her temples in frustration reciting to herself “Breathe Misty. Remember to breathe. They need to still be around to watch the gym.”

“Me Brock and Gary are going to Kalos to stud—”

“—Wait did you say Kalos??”

“—Yes Kalos to—”

“—Without us?!?!”

“Oh no…”

“We’re like sooo going with you!”

“Oh no you don’t! This is the first vacation I had in weeks and we are there to study!”

“Oh please! You like love Kalos and all the fancy shops and cafes just as much as we do so you can’t fool us and besides! We know some people there! Like a Pokémon showcase performer friend, Aria is there and we like haven’t catched up in foreverrrr.”

“But Daisy!! Who am I supposed to get to watch the Gym? And what am I supposed to tell Gary?! He only bought three tickets… at least I think it’s three—”

“—Pfft! Please I’ll ask Tracey to watch over the gym and we can like get tickets ourselves! And besides with us by your side you can get access to so many parties and showcases!”

“But we’re not there to…go to…what kind of parties?”

“Where you can dance and wear fancy ball gowns and make up like a princess…”

“Like a princess…”

All 3 of them nod “uh huh..”

“Arghh!!! Fine! You can come!! But if you embarrass me I swear to mew I’m going to use your faces as a practice range for Gyrados hydro pump!”

“Ok..ok..”

“Would you care to dance?” Brock mock bowed.

“Haha, Why yes I would!” she said as her “mermaid” wig hair tickled her shoulder as she mock bowed in return.

“I got to ask why the wig again?”

“Listen its the only chance I get to not be “Misty the gym leader” I am Miltank milking it for all it’s worth!”

“You do see ladies here with short hair right?”

“I know it just feels more…Kalos.”

“I don’t understand what that means.” he chuckled twirling her around. “But you do look very nice.”

She looked to her left and saw Gary twirl his date gracefully as she spun around. They both had skill. He offered her a dance before which his date didn’t mind. Actually if Misty had to be honest with herself, she really liked this girl and they had spent hours before the party trying on dresses and visiting the café’s and shops in the area, leaving snarky comments and threats to both Gary and Brock in their wake.

Everyone had to have a date for this dance event; even their Pokémon partners.

“Oh no, what Pokémon am I gonna get to dance with Psyduck?!”

“Oh I know! How about my Furret or my Snubbull or really any of my Pokémon cause I have an all female team!” She winked a blue eye.

“Remember guys if something comes up, we can’t stay too long. Professor Sycamore is expecting us as soon as he gets to the Pokémon center here.

“Garebear stop being such a—”

“—Leaf, whatdya I tell you about that!”

The other two tried to hold back their fit of giggles. Yup! Misty definitely liked this girl.

“Alright, everyone form into circles. It’s time to change partners. Then lets dance!”

Ash was not a dancer. He tried he really tried. He tried to learn Tierrno’s rhythmic battle style, Serena had tried to teach him and he can’t remember the countless of other people who tried to teach him something over the course of his travels about dancing… It wasn’t just that he had two left feet cause in actuality he didn’t. He could have balance and focus, he wasn’t clumsy! Well…ok he wasn’t that clumsy! He tried to debate himself that it was just that he had ZERO sense of rhythm!

He didn’t care though cause he loved it! He just never waited for the music to catch up with the impatience of his feet. He was always ahead of it and he was regretting that now.

Ash could only recall in his mind the one time his dancing was somewhat acceptable and that was a very looong time ago at the Maidens Peak festival at the very beginning of his journey back in Kanto.

“Come on Ash let’s dance!”

“Uh, sure!”

“Woah, ahh…”

It happened so fast that he couldn’t even process what was happening. She grasped his white gloved hand with her own pulling him more into the circular row of rotating suitors. He stumbled over his feet before he looked up. He saw an orange wave of waist length hair, but he couldn’t look at her eyes, they were closed??

She took full lead though (in spite of that) raising his left hand high above his head balanced only by the light tips of her fingers as she took a long bow and in the process making him bow as well.

He just stared. Something about her made him stare for a second, maybe it was the fact that he wanted to say something but nothing ever came out. It couldn’t be though..nah, no way…but…

She stood upright again, let go of his hand and began to leave and her eyes were still closed! She must have really known her way around these kind of things if she could just feel her way around.. she was really graceful. He smiled sheepishly as she passed until he heard someone else speak.

“Dancing’s not hard.”

“Aria!”

“It’s easy just relax!”

“O-Ok.”

“Psy”

Psyduck’s bill hovered over the edge of the table. So close to that lonely slice of cake.

“…Psssyyyduuuucckkk?!” She growled out.

Busted! He didn’t hear the click of his irritated trainers heels approaching on the soft carpeting. Misty made her way back again to the table of sweet treats after catching the sight of her daring Pokémon out of the corner of her eye.

His cheeks flushed pink embarrassed or maybe terrified of the reprimand he knew was coming squinting his eyes and bracing himself.

He looked up but her hand wasn’t about to wack him. Her eyes were staring at it instead.

“—Duck?”

She spaced out for a moment running a thumb across her fingertips. A prickling ran through them with a strange familiarity. It was odd? She felt like she was in a trance, though that could have been cause she refused to open her eyes when she passed along the circle, but she just couldn’t bring herself to do it. It was too enticing just to feel the music and have her feet carry her where she went. She felt as though she was floating in water and she couldn’t risk having that bubble burst. (She navigated just fine.)

“Alright…”

“Huh.” She looked up towards the staircase. As did everyone else in the room.

“Let us begin today’s main event…”

She let out an audible unbelieving breath.

All other words were lost on her ears when she spotted someone. Or rather two someone’s, she wouldn’t have even entertained the belief otherwise. But a bit far up ahead was a Pikachu coming to stand by a boy with jet black hair in a navy blue suit that looked like .. no this was ridiculous.. still…

She moved closer up but a crowd was forming in front at the announcement. She craned her neck and stood on the tips of her toes just to try to get a better angle. She might have started excusing herself through the crowd but…

“Misty!” Gary’s hand had grasped her shoulder. “Geesh! Didn’t you hear us calling you?”

She raised an eyebrow and looked behind him to see Brock and Leaf had gathered their things. The later looking a bit disappointed

“…The battle begins next.”

They returned the rented dresses and tusks, changed back into their regular clothes and headed up to the reception desk.

“Excuse me Mademoiselle. Did we need to return these?” Brock asked sliding her the cards they received upon arrival.

“Oh” the female the receptionist giggled. “No you are free to keep those!”

“Ah, then I will keep it as a souvenir from the beautiful woman who handed it to me.” He held it to his heart for effect.

Misty’s hand twitched in preparation to yank his ear and save the poor woman.

“Is the party over?” The receptionist asked confused.

“Not yet.” Gary answered. “But we gotta run. This party is just about wrapping up anyway. Professor Sycamore just updated me. We’re meeting with him; He’s staying at the Pokémon center a little ways back here tonight and since it’s already near sunset we’re gonna have a long trek back and I want to get there before it gets pitch black out.

“Oh well then, I hope you all had a wonderful time!” She smiled sweetly. “Please come back and visit.”

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhh…” Brock stared at her dreamily.

“—Come on Brock!” Misty said forcefully giving his a shove as he was the only one still standing there when everyone else was heading out.

“Wait a minute!” Gary stopped abruptly and held his card up to the light. “Nah, ok we’re good. Let’s go.”

Leaf rolled her eyes and shifted her weight to her right hip and scoffed.

“Figures if it was you—”

“—Well did you get the special card? Hmm?” He smirks.

She stuck her tongue out at him and stalked ahead.

They all followed out onto the amber golden side street; lit and glowing by the string of street lamps that begun to turn on at this hour.

Misty hung back a bit though a part of her itching to go back inside. Just find out if she was right??

“Hey, you ok?” Leaf looped an arm with hers directing her forward. She didn’t realize she started walking backwards to keep the palace in view just in case she changed her mind…

“Yea..”

“Liar.” She stared into her not buying into it.

“…I know this is gonna sound crazy but I could have sworn I saw… Ash.” She finally said it.

Brock and Gary both stopped several steps ahead, turned their heads and stared at her blinking.

Leaf looked puzzled as well. All was silent for a moment until Gary spoke up.

“Well it’s official someone spiked that punch. I knew everyone there was a little tipsy. It must be a Kalos thing. You know how many cheek kisses I got tonight?” He winced as soon as his brain caught up to his mouth.

“How many cheek kisses did you get tonight? Hmm?” Leaf crossed her arms. Not amused.

“Um.. it’s not important…” he waved a hand and quickly dismissed getting flustered at her scrutiny. He turned back to Misty for the quick excuse.

“How much punch did you drink?”

“None.” she deadpanned folding her arms.

“Misty ..” Brock started carefully “You know that’s a little hard to believe right?”

“I know. I know! It’s just I saw a Pikachu—”

“—A lot of trainers have Pikachu’s.”

“He was with a boy with black hair!—”

“—Lot of trainers have black hair.”

She threw her hands up in the air exasperated.

“Well he has been in Kalos right?! I mean he—”

“—So are thousands of other trainers…”

After this back and forth for a while trying to convince her that was sorta…impossible. Garry got the biggest smirk.

“You know what I think it is?” They all turned back to him. “I think that it’s just you wanted Ashy-Boy to be the one you were dancing with tonight. So naturally your mind would come to that unbelievable conclusion.”

That was it. He knew exactly what button to press to stop this conversation dead in its tracks. He chalked it up to a win in his book of comeback arguments he’s been ever slightly more defeated in winning ever since inviting Leaf along.

Her cheeks to the bridge of her nose flushed a pink hue. She opened her mouth, closed it, then quickly opened it again.

“Fine! You know what?! Let’s just forget this!”

She gritted her teeth and stomped ahead now leading the group back to the Pokémon center.

Maybe one day the next time she saw him back in Pallet she would just subtly bring up if he was ever at that location… at that particular time… on that particular day in Kalos? It started to sound even more un-convincing. Maybe they were right, Kalos was a big region. It was too big of a coincidence as well.

Seriously what were the chances that could even happen?! A coincidence like that?!

Ours wasn’t coincidence.

“Huh?”

“I don’t believe it could be just a coincidence that I met you out of all people.”

“What do you mean—”

“Ash?”

“Huh?”

“You ok? You kind of zoned out there for a minute.”

Authors note: Collaboration with @pok3n who made me actually turn into a fic instead of just a head cannon. She also attributed some of her own dialogue and ideas that were frekin fantastic like the opening flashback scenes and a lot of other things. I honestly wouldn’t post anything if it wasn’t for her. But we talked though it and decided.. yea ok it might work lol (your amazing!)

Special credit to @pkmncoordinators The addition of “Leaf” was inspired by TAC. Her mannerisms, personality, the teasing nickname she calls Gary “garebare” as well as I think all of her Pokémon being female is all a credit to that masterpiece and its author. It’s basically my personal established Leaf cannon. Also made me a conflict/leafgreen shipper not gonna lie lol.

I know this is just a one shot but I will say this I wanted to explain my reasoning in more detail on the way I wrote this. Cause it’s something I never did before but also it was just gonna end up being a 10 page authors note and I don’t think anyone wants to read that. But if any of you do read this and are kinda confused as to something or just have a question about it my ask box and messages are open! (They always are) odds are I have the answers :)!

I will possibly expand upon the Kalos Mega Evolution Research Trip as a separate story in the future. This was just that specific memorable scene. Also I might expand on the Gary & Leaf backstory which was how they reacquainted with each other possibly in the anime. I recently posted a little head cannon about that I might explore more.

And Lastly… This honestly my favorite thing I have done! I would make it a full fledged comic if I had any drawing capability whatsoever cause it’s essentially one scene with dividers. But since I don’t oh well.. I’m just happy I could make it into a fic. I didn’t do anything this complicated before so initially it was just gonna be a very vague head cannon and I didn’t think it was gonna work. But it did and I’m just so so proud of this! :,)

dfkjlahdkjfhadskjflhk Mystery Dungeon hype!!!!!

I hope they keep the quiz, but have it like they did in Super Mystery Dungeon where they showed you what you got and you could choose your Pokemon from there.

They gotta keep at least SOME of the same questions from the original, I mean hands coming out of a toilet, aliens invading and breaking rotten eggs in your room..... things that happen in your normal everyday life right?????

I liked that the results were actual natures from the main series, I hope that’s still a thing!

We don’t need some Pokemon being limited to one gender anymore, it’s 2020. Some girls like Psyduck.

I hope they didn’t bastardize the portraits too much! I didn’t like the ones in Gates to Infinity, they were too flat graphically and emotionally :U

oh man I can’t decide if I want the starters to be the original ones again or all of the starters from every generation since then... on one hand, Eevee and Meowth, on the other hand, Popplio and Fennekin!

If there are non-starter Pokemon as starters like the original, I hope that all of them can be the partner as well! It always seemed kinda arbitrary which ones could be which, at least they fixed it in Time/Darkness. (Then unfixed it in Sky, with Meowth and Munchlax.)

I’ve seen Lucario in preview images, hopefully that means that they’ve put in Pokemon from after gen 3 and not just Lucario! Did they learn their lesson from FRLG?

Are they gonna be postgame? Maybe that’s a good compromise?

AT LEAST add in new moves and abilities, come on

I am KIND OF OKAY if they keep HMs in this game, even if they’ve been removed in the main games - as long as they keep the thing where they can just sit in the inventory and work that way as well as actually knowing the move.

PLEASE have the inventory be a decent size! Do the Time/Darkness thing where it increases! 20 slots is PAINFUL!

How many old mechanics are gonna stay? Friend Areas? Wonder Mail? Saving before certain dungeons??? (ugh I hope not that one)

What about ones from other games in the series? Is that recruiting tree thing from Super Mystery Dungeon gonna be there? What about the construction stuff from Gates to Infinity? The cafe from Explorers? Egg hatching??

I think the evolution mechanics have returned from the other games, Mega Evolution too? NEAT

OH OH what if there were some mechanics from the Japan-only games? Wasn’t there one where they stacked on top of each other? THAT’D BE RAD

I kinda want Friend Areas to return but kinda not.... they’re cute but annoying to manage so IDK

I cried at the plot when I was a kid so am I gonna cry again this time? PROBABLY

Other remakes have added dramatic zooms and cool cutscene things so I hope there are those!

On the other hand, if they change the tone of an emotional scene or ruin a funny one by taking it overboard I’m gonna call foul! Looking at you, beginning cutscene to Winter Tundra in Spyro 2 Reignited.

They can’t do two different versions with this game! There’s only one! No version exclusives! And the box art is PRECIOUS!

Chapter 6 - Rules of Nature

After the Fire Trial, I was more than eager to face the Grass Trial: I had a team with good advantages and resistances, so I wasn’t too worry about it... Not like I let my guard down given the past. In the meantime I added Soma to the team, using immediately my newly acquired Water Stone to turn him into a Vaporeon, so I grinded him a bit in the Lush Jungle, without the fear of Pursuit.

I had finally cleared all the Trials of the Island, all I needed to do was to face the Kahuna, Rock specialist... Which wasn’t good at all. Oliver, Dammek, Jiro and especially Douglas weren’t very fond of it. I had to rely on Raiden and Soma.

But before that I crossed the Diglett Cave and, once outside, I had to solve a difficult case... Five Dittos impersonating humans!

Once I cleared the streets, I marched to the Ruins, arena for my Grand Trial. But before that I had to save some Aether Foundation guys from Team Skulls. Unfortunately, this time they were lead by their Lieutenant, Plumeria. I found myself in a rather tight spot with Jiro versus a rather powerful Salandit: she took a Fire Shot, that she tanked, but she could not stay on the field. I thought she would not repeat Fire Shot on a Dragon Type, probably relying on Poison or physical attacks, so I throw in Raiden. Bad call. Despite my guesses, she insisted on Fire Shot and killed Raiden. That was a huge loss for the team, both as a mate and as an asset: no more Steel tank, no more Intimidation, no more Physical Attacker.

Soma had to seal the deal with Plumeria, but now I had to face Olivia with Soma as the only option without weaknesses... Oliver could probably hold his ground, but the others were in a tight spot.

As Anorith entered the battlefield, I took few turns setting up the defenses: Acid Armor twice and Aqua Ring. Anorith went down easily, but Lileep was kind a pain in the neck: Giga Drain wasn’t fatal, but it undid most of my damage, so the battle dragged on quite a bit, until I landed Confusion with Water Pulse. With Lycanroc I was afraid of Crits, but one strike was enough to take him down.

Island cleared, but with four casualties.

Chapter 7 - I'm the best there is at what I do: screwing up my life

[[Narration wise I’ll skip Aether Paradise, it was rather pointless]]

I sailed to Ula’ula Island and I was off to a rough start: my good pal Hau challenged me... Something was different about him. He was even more determined than before, but also a little... vicious? Maybe it was just my impression, but in any case it was a very tough battle: victory without casualties was achieved with great suffering and effort.

I went to the Gardens to meet Kahui, but I left my guard down: thinking Douglas could outspeed a Raichu and U-Turn he got hit by a Thunderbolt. No need for crits, it was a 1HKO. That was my fucking screw up. But more were to come.

I did what I needed to do in Malie City and left for Route 10. And then...

I was devasted. I did thought of the possibility of an Ice Move, but that was supposed to be rare... My grief and the grief of my team was palpable and that heavily influenced my performances, leading to a slaughter of the rookies that were supposed to fill the voids.

Looking at them back, most of them were something I could not foresee: Pursuit on Raine the Natu from a Crabrawler, Fearow using Mirror Move to mimic Brick Break and oneshot Mako the Komala, Ribrienne the Raticate going down from a Crit from Absol.

Still that was ton of blood on my hand, a heavily unbalanced team and more challenges to come.

Pokémon Black 2 Randomized Nuzlocke Run [Part 10]

Elite Four grind time.

With some time spent pushing rocks into holes, just in case I need to go places in the future.

So here we are, leveling up our team before our chaotic last stand, and that means... we’re in a new route. One more for the road.

What I assume to be Victory Road. This part of the game blends together for me even worse than the rest.

What do I teach it to, though? It’s a physical Water attack. A very good one, but I don’t think any of my physical attackers can learn it. I might have to take something out of a box for it... In that case, I might as well also get something that can learn Cut. There are trees about.

Photon and Nessy are the only ones that can learn Waterfall. I don’t think I want it for either of them. To the nearest box!

I don’t know if this is a way to a box, but this is really, really cool and I dig it.

Okay, do I have anything that can learn both Cut and Waterfall? Mayhaps? Or Fly?

No, this isn’t going to be that straightforward. Nessy and Caspet are in the box since they need exp least. Replacing them temporarily are Amuro the Charmander (Cut), and Winn the Whiscash (Waterfall and Surf).

Photon’s in the first slot, Exp. Share moves to Vertex for now.

There’s this maze of Cuttable trees and trainers out before Victory Road proper. I don’t really understand what this gen likes so much about random maze areas, but I think most Pokemon games are into that on some level. It’s just annoying right now because Sun and Moon spoiled me. HMs are obnoxious.

On a related note, Winn now knows Strength.

There are also now Kabutops everywhere.

Having gone through the maze, I’m going down Victory Road with Nessy back in the party and Amuro back in the box. Thanks for your service, bud. Where we’re going, we don’t need Cut. ...I hope.

This gen’s needless drama makes me happy.

The number of trainers on Victory Road who have history with Team Plasma one way or another is really satisfying. In this sequel game, the events of the game preceding it had an impact on NPCs. Delightful.

Also, I repeat my desire for NPCs to not be allowed to have things that have Sturdy. I hate Sturdy. It makes me sad. So do caves that need Flash to see in. Instead of teaching anything Flash, I’m going to stumble around in the dark. The dark that says this is probably an optional section.

Fuck. Rival fights just when I’m really wanting to see a Pokemon Center are not my favorite thing. They are even less of my favorite thing when I have a slot taken up by an HM slave.

Hey, this is the rival fight that starts with an Unfezant in this corridor!

It’s level 55, and Russell only has four pokemon, so this should be relatively okay. Bouffalant comes out as a result of Unfezant’s U-turn. Nessy deals with it, but is in the orange. Simisage is next, go DAMIAN. Samurott following, go Vertex. Samurott is level 57. Stormy goes in to finish the Unfezant since Stormy has a Quick Attack replacement.

And that’s the fight! Yay!

Oki doki, I’m going to go back through Victory Road and check out all the things I didn’t want to before finding the health point on the way out. When I’m done with that, I’ll look at the resting levels and decide what I think.

I think Fighting dude is to the far right. He’s been a problem in the past, so I’m going to go ahead and try to get that out of the way. Stormy up front because while Photon might have Air Slash and STAB, all these things are likely to have Stone Edge. The worst of everything. Next to Sturdy.

So Marshal’s first pokemon is a level 56 Throh. At the risk of feeling very embarrassed in a few moments, I think I might be slightly overleveled for this. Uh. Stormy, use Zen Headbutt?

Mienshao is up next, and for that one I think I want to switch into Photon. Or do I. See, I can’t remember if Bug is super effective against Stormy or not. Steel clears up a lot of the Pyschic weaknesses, but I am not allowed to look things up, and gaaah.

Stormy can survive one hit of anything, probably. In Stormy stays.

One Zen Headbutt later, Stormy is also staying in to fight Conkeldurr. It’s level 58. It uses Bulk Up (yes, it lived. its berry even brought it back to orange!). Stormy uses Zen Headbutt. Conkeldurr is no more.

Next and last is Sawk. Let me guess. This is still the Sturdy version. It is. It uses Payback, which does a pathetic amount of damage. Stormy uses Bullet Punch to simplify the future, and Marshal Full Restores Sawk. Stormy uses Zen Headbutt.

Yay, I won.

...This is sincerely awkward. I thought they’d be in their 60s. And maybe they are for the second round, but I’ve spent so many hours in this gen that my plan is to call it after beating the Elite Four. So uh. This is my final battle.

To the Psychic room?

I like how two years later, the Elite Four has agreed to stairs instead of moving spiral stairs.

Caspet is up in front.

Caitlin sends out a level 56 Musharna. Caspet uses Shadow Ball. Musharna faints. Caitlin sends in a level 56 Reuniclus. Caspet uses Shadow Ball. Reuniclus faints. Caitlin sends in Sigilyph. Caspet uses Shadow Ball. Sigilyph faints. Caitlin sends in a level 58 Gothitelle. Caspet uses Shadow Ball.

And that’s Caitlin.

Ghost girl next because I already have Caspet up front.

Shauntal sends out a level 56 Cofagrigus. Caspet uses Shadow Ball. She’s about to send out a Golurk, and to keep from being too arrogant, I switch to Nessy. Nessy uses Surf. Bye Golurk. She sends out a Drifblim, I go back to Caspet. Caspet uses Shadow Ball. Nessy gets sent back in against a level 58 Chandelure. Nessy uses Surf.

Nessy’s level 67 now.

Three down.

Stormy, you can sit in front for this next one.

Grimsley sends out his level 56 Liepard. It uses Fake Out. Then it uses Night Slash. Stormy is at 156 HP out of 192. Stormy uses Hammer Arm. Liepard faints. Nessy comes out to handle the Krookodile. It uses Earthquake. Nessy uses Surf. One is left standing.

Scrafty is next.

I don’t have anything I’m super comfortable having out against it, so I think I’m going to go for an odder pick and have Vertex fight it. If nothing else, yay Intimidate.

Vertex uses Spark. Scrafty uses Rock Tomb. Vertex’s Speed is lowered, but Scrafty’s down to half health. Vertex uses Spark. Ugh, a sliver of health left. Scrafty uses Rock Tomb again and Speed is lowered again. Grimsely is going to use a Full Restore, so I’m going to use Charge.

Scrafty uses Crunch.

A moment of fear for Vertex. Yike.

Charged Spark takes out Scrafty, though.

Grimsley’s final pokemon is Bisharp. DAMIAN, this is your time.

DAMIAN uses Flamethrower. Bisharp faints.

Yay.

The question now becomes what I want in front. If memory serves, Iris is now the Champion. I don’t know if her Dragon theme is changed up at all. I do know that her levels will be a bit higher than what these four fights have entailed.

I think I’ll put Caspet up front. She’s faster than anything, and does enough damage that unless something goes very wrong, she has an excellent chance of just nailing the first thing.

...On second thought, no.

Iris might have a Hydreigon. Likely not first, but I do not need to ever give a Hydreigon extra moves. So.

Stormy, I guess. Stormy’s reliable, and whatever happens, probably won’t die in one hit. Okay.

Hydreigon uses Flamethrower. I figured there was a very good chance of that happening, but Stormy endures the hit in the green, and Hammer Arm hits.

Stormy grows to level 65!

Aggron is next.

I don’t want to risk Earthquake, Nessy’s taking this.

Level 57 Aggron, Nessy uses Surf. No point wasting Hydro Pump on something likely to have Sturdy.

Okay so it doesn’t have Sturdy.

It’s also gone now.

Nessy’s level 68.

Iris sends out a Lapras, Vertex needs something to do. Vertex uses Charge as a safety measure/to see if I can one-shot the Lapras. Lapras uses... Ice Beam, I think, but I was typing in this window when the attack went off. Because this has my full attention.

Vertex uses Spark. Lapras faints.

Iris has a Haxorus. It is level 59.

Well, Nessy has Ice Beam.

Haxorus hits first with Earthquake. Nessy stays green.

IRIS WHY DOES YOUR HAXORUS HAVE A FUCKING FOCUS SASH COME ON I’M SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO LIKE YOU.

Siiiigh. Nessy gets to use another Ice Beam, likely after the inevitable Full Restore comes in.

Yes to both those things.

Haxorus faints.

Iris sends out Druddigon, Nessy stays in. Nessy uses Ice Beam. ...Druddigon survives with a sliver of red, but is frozen. Nessy uses Ice Beam again. Druddigon faints.

Last up is Archeops.

I am, at heart, a sentimental man.

Caspet. I believe in you. You, the closest thing to a starter this run had after the first hour.

Geez, that certainly happened, didn’t it? I can’t say I’m disappointed, exactly, because I like winning too much, but. Outside of Vertex vs. Scrafty, there wasn’t much fear involved. Kind of anticlimactic.

And sad, to think that Diego could have been part of it if we hadn’t met DAMIAN first. He missed it by so little.

So all of the tension went out of order for this one. My starter died early, I was massively overleveled for the Elite Four and didn’t even expect to be fighting them this round, then I was, and meaningful deaths weren’t that common or devastating.

But I had fun, and I hope the two of you who sometimes read these enjoyed the adventure. I’m done with this gen for like. at least a year, but I have decided to do a Nuzlocke of either Fire Red or Leaf Green. I don’t know which, but I’m not going to Randomize the run. I am going to have one very specific rule changing things up to make going back to the gen three version of gen one hopefully very worth it, but yeah.

I don’t know when that will be happening, but I seem to enjoy having one of these going. Plus, I think the rule changes I have in mind would make my posts less meandering.

Medea Saw Pokemon: I Choose You

As you all should know by now, I am indeed a Pokemon fan. And have seen nearly any and all Pokemon episodes, specials, and movies up to this date. And that includes making sure my ass is in the movie theaters to see a Pokemon movie on the big screen. I did it for the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and whatever number the Victini movie was. So seeing this movie was a definite must. And just my luck it came out on a Sunday (my usual day off from both school and work).

Being the ever so anxious fan, I arrived in San Francisco an hour early. Guess I got lucky with public transit. No worries, the theater is allowing people to come in early. And when I entered, they were playing Pokemon Generations.

Um...why? Okay, I understand that you want us to have the feeling of Kanto. But the movie we’re about to watch involves Ash and Pikachu. Not (DOTDOTDOT) Red. But luckily, it was only the first 3 episodes of Generations.

And I can’t say no to seeing Lorelei. Her and her happy tats were on the big screen. And that’s a big plus in my book.

Aside from that was an AMV (I’m calling it that) to the tune of the first OP song featuring footage of the past 19 movies. And of course advertising the first 52 episodes being available on Blu-ray.

So the movie begins a little bit like the first episode. Except we now know the trainers battling. They’re the ones from the first movie.

You member? Well their names are Neesha and Corey.

The two on the right. Not the other dude. They were on the screen fighting as Ash stayed up late watching in anticipation for the next day as he’s going to become a pokemon trainer.

Well a lot like the first episode, dude oversleeps and breaks his alarm clock, causing him to be totally late to Professor Oak’s and run around town in his pajamas. When he got there, yep, all the pokemon (Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle) are gone.

We saw the back of Gary’s head. And that’s all we see of him. Hope you enjoyed that Gary fans.

But as a shock, we actually saw an image of the other two Pallet trainers. We still don’t have names, but they look like Marina (from the episode Bye Bye Psyduck) and Tierno (from Pokemon XY). I’m not saying they’re them, I’m just saying they look like them.

So Ash gets Pikachu.

Usual shit, shock, walk, try to catch Pidgey, fail, hit Spearow, flock of Spearow come attacking, Ash and Pikachu are beat-up, get in the pokeball, no, Ash makes declaration to Spearow, Pikachu attacks, sky clears, enter Ho-oh.

And then Ash receives the Rainbow Wing from Ho-oh.

Which I am pretty sure is the reason why Ash never ages. I’m pretty sure Ho-oh’s Rainbow Wings are the fountain of youth in this universe.

AND THEN WE GET THE OPENING! It’s a lot like the video that the Pokemon Company has been showing all week with the footage of Ash and Pikachu. Except they played quite a bit of the song and even see footage of past movies like Lugia and Slowking from the second movie, Lickylicky and Torterra from the 10th movie, and a few backgrounds from the Victini movie.

Now for the rest of the movie that is going to go down a much different route. Be prepared. I’m not holding back. So spoiler warning. This is your one and only warning. GTFO if you don’t want to see...

So Ash goes about by doing some similar things including capturing a Caterpie and battling gym leaders. Well the only gym leader he battled was Erika of Celadon City.

Yeah, pretty much dressed like this usual attire. And I am pretty certain that she is NOT voiced by original voice, Leah Applebaum.

And to add it off, this is Ash’s 3rd gym battle. Who were the other gym leaders he beat?

Oh well, Ash ends up at a Pokemon Center where he actually calls his mother. And boy is she mad. She’s been calling all over Kanto to make sure her baby is okay. Then Delia mentions Ash being like his father.

...

...It took so much of my energy to stop myself from yelling in the theater, “WHO IS HIS FATHER?” Dammit Delia!

Team Rocket’s there...and they do nothing.

But he soon hangs up on his momma when he learns that a legendary pokemon is prancing around. It’s Entei from the Johto region. So Ash starts running around trying to see if he can battle it. But not before running into our new female, Verity.

She comes from Twinleaf in Sinnoh. And has a Piplup. And thank the fuck Christ it isn’t as annoying as Dawn’s. So I’m not praying it gets hit by a Draco Meteor. She wants to battle Entei too and they both fight over it until they end up in a world of trouble with a rogue Onix. Luckily Ash saves the day by being his usual reckless self.

Then they meet the other kid lurking around in the Pokemon Center earlier.

Sorrel from Veilstone in Sinnoh. THIS DUDE COMES FROM THE SAME TOWN AS PAUL AND CONWAY. SOMEONE GIVE ME MORE TO GO ON! Anyways, he leaves because a storm is coming.

While Ash and Verity are running to shelter, they see a Charman...oh fuck, I know where this is going!

Yeah, Charmander...the stray pokemon. Well we’re about to meet the douche that ditched it on a rock. Well...who knows? He could be a little better than Dami...

And he kicked Charmander.

Yeah, I fucking hate you now.

Nope. I have no likeness, compassion, or anything for Cross. He could cure cancer, kick Donald Trump in the testicles, and bring peace in the middle east, and I will still hate his fucking guts.

So Ash and Verity save the little Charmander by hiding in a cave. Surprise, it’s the same one Sorrel is hiding in. He ends up saving Charmander with some medicine, and Ash nurses him like a baby throughout the night.

This night in the cave is cold and so the trainers want to put the pokemon back in the pokeballs. Well...Pikachu hates pokeballs and still refuses to go in. And with that Verity and Sorrel’s pokemon don’t want to go either.

We learn a little more about these two mystery characters. Sorrel wants to become a Pokemon Professor and meet rare legendaries on his journey. And Verity has a mother that’s a very powerful trainer.

But wait, there’s more! There’s a scene where everyone else is sleeping and Verity is going through her photos and stops at one of her...mother?

Wait, wait, wait! I know this chick has Cynthia’s long hair and it looks so much like her...but I can’t remember, does she have an Empoleon in the games.

Fuck it, her mother’s Cynthia, I guess.

And we learn that Sorrel once had a cute little Luxray that watched over him when he was a tyke. And then one day he got hurt in a snowstorm. And Luxray shielded him until help came.

And the Luxray froze to death.

Dammit movie, you’re trying to break me. But I’m not going down that easy! BUT FUCK, YOU HAD TO SHOW LUXRAY SMILING EVEN IN DEATH! HOW FUCKED UP ARE YOU PEOPLE?!

Retelling of Ho-oh tale, Burned Tower, the three legendary doggies, moving on...

Ash, Verity, and Sorrel survive the night. And Ash ends up catching Charmander.

Entei sighting.

Caterpie evolves.

Verity sees Suicune.

Charmander evolves.

Marshadow stalks.

Team Rocket does nothing.

Ash wins several battles.

Here comes Kicky McDoucheCross. He battles Ash and Charmeleon. Cross uses his JOHN CENNNNNNNNAAAA (Incineroar). And much like the Ash we all know and love, he uses a not fully-evolved pokemon against a much powerful evolved pokemon. And loses.

And much like Ash, he ends up brooding after losing. You know how those go. Ash has many of these moments like when he lost to Gary and Paul and Wulfric and Richie and Brawly and TOO MANY TO FUCKING COUNT!

So he ends up having a pretty bad mood swing and taking his anger out on Verity and Sorrel. And even Pikachu when even he disagrees. And then Ash said something I NEVER thought he would ever say.

“I should have chosen Squirtle or Bulbasaur.”

OW. DAMMIT MOVIE. OW. Nope...no tears. No tears Medea, fight it!

So Ash is alone and falls to sleep. All the while his rainbow wing starts to taint (as it does if the person holding it has a tainted heart). Ash wakes up in...a normal world?

WHAT?!

There’s no pokemon. He’s going to school. Like a regular kid...

NO WAY!

OH MY GOD, AGATHA IS TEACHING AND PROFESSOR OAK IS OUTSIDE AND IN CHARGE.

Pokemon...have you been tracking me and my story Romance 101. Granted, it’s been around for over 10 years...But that’s so OH MY GOD!

Thankfully this world dies when Ash remembers Pikachu’s name. And not a moment too soon. Jesus “Tap Dancing” Christ. No more Pokemon in School shit! Ash wakes up, he’s sorry for snapping, the feather is back to being all rainbowy. We’re off to a mountain to see Ho-oh.

But then...

Pink Butterfree. FUCK!

Stop trying to make me cry, movie.

Yeah, Ash’s Butterfree saves the Pink Butterfree from a Fearow. They do courtship dance. Butterfree must go with his ho on the go and leave Ash. They fly away. Ash cries.

Phew...no tears. Okay movie, I’m done with you trying to kill me with feels. You’re worse than a Key Animation anime.

We see Raikou.

Okay, back to journey to the special mountain. They meet an old coot named Banji who’s been a Ho-oh enthusiast for the last 20 years. Ash is ready to be the one to take the feather to the top and summon Ho-oh.

And then Crossfucker comes AND RUINS EVERYTHING! Oh he totally did. Ash and Cross battle and thankfully the results were different from last time as Charmeleon evolved into Charizard and beat Cross and his JOHN CENNNNNNAAAAAA!

But FuckaCross doesn’t take losing well and said he saw Ho-oh once too. But he wasn’t blessed with a feather. So he takes Ash’s feather. And it becomes tainted. And Marshadow appears and just makes shit worse as he gets the pokemon from the area to fight everyone.

This was intense. Like 1st movie intense. There was strangling, biting, and explosions of all kinds!

And this just totally wrecks Ash and Pikachu. Overkill. So once again, Ash is telling Pikachu to get in the fucking pokeball and stand there as these powerful pokemon unleash their attacks on him. Pikachu refuses and ACTUALLY SPEAKS?!

IT SPOKE.

IT FUCKING SPOKE.

IT WANTS TO BE WITH ASH. THAT’S WHY IT REFUSES TO GO IN THE BALL.

And just like the first movie Ash brushes with death. Except he dissipates leaving Pikachu sobbing into Ash’s hat.

ALMOST...You almost got me movie!

Ash returns from purgatory.

And here comes Ho-oh to calm everyone down. And Ash finally gets to battle with Ho-oh.

Except we don’t see it. We just know they go back to the Pokemon Center and he mentions battling Ho-oh.

Well it’s time to go on. Verity’s gonna go home to Mama Cynthia. Sorrel is going to search for the legendary birds Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos. And Ash continues his journey with Pikachu.

Then the ending credits. We see Brock. We see Misty.

OKAY POKEMON, LISTEN UP!

I’m fed the fuck up with this shit. Every single solitary time I have hopes of seeing Tracey Sketchit, you guys fuck it up for me. Like the line cuts off when Oak brings him to the phone or he’s away with the Waterflower Slut-Brigade, or fuck if I know. Because he sure as fuck wasn’t there in those two Kanto episodes of Sun and Moon. If you fuckers don’t show my anime husband in the next five seconds Imma quit this whole...

Okay, so aside from that we also see May, Max, Dawn, Iris, Dento-fruit, Clemont, Bonnie, and Blushy McIdiot...whoops I mean Serena. We see some pokeballs (and a Voltorb) in the credits. Sorrel and Verity for a sec. Team Rocket...again with the nothing.

The End.

Phew...this movie. GO SEE IT. Yes, Gen “Wunners” I’m talking to you. Look, I know you’re sad that this retelling of Ash’s beginning doesn’t have Misty and Brock. But I’m begging you to just look past that imperfection and actually WATCH the movie. I’m almost upset at the fact that the movie theater I went to was nearly empty during the screening. I saw more people at the Victini showing than this. And this movie is so much better than the Victini.

You know what? For years, I’ve always imagined how Pokemon would EVER end. And if it did, I would always imagine it with Ho-oh, Pikachu actually speaking, and Ash either dying or brink of death. And this movie shocked me and gave me all three. I’m at a complete loss of words. I was so hooked on this movie.

The one miss for this movie goes to Team Rocket. Ash never sees them. They literally do nothing. And other than Meowth, we don’t see another pokemon from them except in the credits where we see Wobbuffet. What was their point of being in the movie? This movie would have been perfect if they weren’t in it.

Voice wise, Sarah Natochenny, you KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK. I know I was never a fan of you voicing Ash. I mean, Rica Matsumoto is literally tops. And then Veronica Taylor, I will never forget. But your performance here was wonderful. Kate Bristol, Suzy Myers, Michele Knotz, I’m so happy to hear you all. Jimmy Zoppi...*sighs* all I hear is Weevil. No matter who you voice. Meowth sounds like Weevil. James sounds like Weevil with a cold. Professor Oak sounds like Weevil if he was an old man. I’m never going to get over that.

Shipping wise...AH-HA! Gotcha there, it was Pikashipping. And nothing else!

Music wise, I know they only kept like one original BGM and everything else was tampered. I mean it was okay. The opening still brings back nostalgic feels. The ending theme, kind of sweet really.

Sorry for being all ranty with this entry. But I didn’t want to wait 2-3 years to tell people how I really felt about this movie when I review Sun and Moon. Plus I just saw this movie like 4 hours ago. So I’m still pretty hyped.

I don’t give number scores with my reviews so please just go by what I say here. See this movie. There are 3 more days in the U.S. where you can find a theater to watch this. If not, wait three weeks and watch it on Thanksgiving weekend on Disney XD.

Phew. Now if you’ll excuse me, it’s been a long day and I earned myself some pizza.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky Professor Oak’s Challenge Part 6

Chapter 5 where we can finally start recruiting things.

This morning, Chatot tells us that time has stopped in Treeshroud Forest.

Time has stopped because a Time Gear was stolen. Chatot says to report anything suspicious and dismisses everyone.

Chatot calls us over and says that because of the good work we’ve done, we’re being assigned a mission.

We are to investigate a waterfall that apparently has a secret.

Fig is super excited and we leave to head there.

Before we can leave, Chimecho calls us over. She gives us the ability to recruit new Pokemon. We can now official start the run.

While our next objective is to explore the waterfall, we’re not going to do that yet. We’re going to recruit pokemon from the dungeons we’ve already been through, starting with Drenched Bluff. Don’t go to Beach Cave as you can’t recruit anything there. I was also doing random missions as I recruited to increase my rank so any random pokemon on my team is just a client.

I turned off all of Fig’s moves so he won’t attack anything and headed to Drenched Bluff.

We recruite pink Shellos,

Lileep,

Anorith,

and Chingling. I guess I forgot to get a recruitment picture so I had to get one from Chimeco’s assembly but I’m further along in the game than these posts so enjoy some spoilers.

Next, I head to Mt. Bristle to recruit

Doduo,

Geodude,

Starly,

Machop,

Spinarak,

Nidorina,

and Nidorino.

From mission rewards

I ranked up to Silver Rank

and recruited a Shellder.

Next, we finally head to the waterfall. This is where I run into a big problem.

It’s name is Kecleon. Waterfall Cave is the earliest Kecleon shops appear which means I need to recruit one. Kecleon are a pain to recruit. They require a pokemon at lv 99, with Fast Friend, and holding the Golden Mask for a tiny 0.1% chance to recruit. They are also insanely strong with max stats and boosted speed. They flood the floor and make escape orbs unusable.

I decide I should recruit everything from Waterfall Cave before doing Kecleon. I eat the Golden Seeds I had gotten early which I had planned to use at the cafe but its not open yet. While I’m not lv 100, I head to Waterfall Cave anyway, making sure to have an escape orb since finishing the dungeon forces me to the next chapter.

We arrive at the waterfall but are kind of stuck on where to look.

Fig touches the water and is forced back. He then has Pine touch it who is also forced back.

Pine gets another dizzy spell.

Pine sees a pokemon leap through the waterfall and into a cave behind it.

Pine tells Fig what he saw so they decide to also jump through the waterfall.

They land in the secret cave and head inside.

I recruit Barboach,

Surskit,

Poliwag,

Psyduck,

Grimer,

Tangela,

Wooper,

Lotad,

and Whiscash. With everything recruited, I escape orb out. It’s time to get ready for Kecleon.

I wondermail in Golden Seeds and Wonder Gummis so that Pine reaches lv 100 and learns Fast Friend. I then wondermail in a Mobile Scarf, Violent Seed, Pure Seed, Mobile Orb, and Sunny Orb. I also used a Luminous Orb but I had found one earlier. Pine’s moveset was Razor Leaf, Body Slam, Synthesis, and Solarbeam all of which are level up moves.

Preparations complete, I head back to Waterfall Cave, making sure to save first.

Finding a Kecleon shop is easy with the X-ray Specs. They’re an unmoving red dot surrounded by a bunch of blue dots. When I find one, I give Fig the Mobile Scarf, Pine the Golden Mask, and use the Luminous and Mobile Orbs. I move Fig into a wall making sure he’s not next to a path and change his tactic to Wait Here. I then rob the shop and have Pine escape to into a wall. I use the Sunny Orb and have Pine eat the Violent Seed to raise his attack and special attack. Make sure there are no Psyducks around when using the Sunny Orb since they have Cloud Nine which nullifies weather. We are now ready to fight Kecleons.

I recruited Kecleon after a few hours and multiple resets. I send Kecleon home and eat the Pure Seed to warp Pine to the stairs. Now that all of the recruitment is done, we can finish the dungeon.

We find a room full of gems with a giant one in the back.

Fig tries to pull it out to take back to the guild but can’t so he has Pine try.

Pine can’t pull it out either but has another dizzy spell.

He sees the same pokemon from before push the gem and then get swept away by a flood.

Before Pine can tell Fig, Fig pushes the giant gem and they get swept away by the flood.

They get washed to the Hot Springs. They decide to rest here for a while before returning to the guild.

We tell Chatot what happened and he is impressed with our discovery. However, Pine feels something is strange.

Pine realizes the pokemon he saw in his visions was Wigglytuff and asks Chatot if Wigglytuff had ever been there before.

Chatot goes and asks Wigglytuff and he says he has been there before. Fig is disappointed that they didn’t discover anything new but he still had a lot of fun.

That night, Fig points out that everytime Pine as seen a vision, its been when he was touching something. He realizes that at the waterfall, Pine saw something in the past, while with Azurill, he saw the future.

Chatot comes in and says the guildmaster wants to see us.

Wigglytuff tells us that the guild is planning an expedition and although we’re rookies, we will also be considered as candidates. Fig is excited and we agree to try our hardest to get picked.
