I kind of always shipped it but I started liking it even more when I got in a debate irl about malina vs darkl!na, and realised just how good it was
fav things: the ORPHANAGE, how supportive Mal is of Alina (and ik people don't think he is, but he IS), how they are literally the embodiment of "your partner should also be your best friend", that one line from the show "Mal and I changed the world" which I could scream about for DAYS.... basically I love this ship it's so fucking cute

oh my god you guys!! 😭
it's October which means it's time for our local (much smaller) Oktoberfest equivalent
we went there yesterday but only for a few minutes to get me some food. it was long enough for me to be like hmm... I think I'm not scared?
this is usually one of the most terrifying situations for me, it's not exactly panic but just this constant awful feeling of dread while I'm there (which is why I never like going there)
so we went again today, again just with the intention of getting some food. we ended up staying for over an hour, we got food and sweets and I bought two scarves (I've never bought anything like that there because I couldn't talk to the vendors, or even get close enough to look at any of the things really).
we walked past the Ferris wheel and I said 'hey let's go on that now'... I am extremely scared of heights, always have been, it's one of my worst fears (and I have so many of those so that means something). I've been on a Ferris wheel maybe like 5 to 7 times and I panicked and cried every time. I had to stand in front of it, watch for 10 minutes, and really work very hard to convince myself to go on it.
and this time I just.. did it. and I was not scared. not before, during or after. not for a second. it was just 'huh okay this is pretty cool when you're not sobbing actually'.
I can't believe this is real? I can't believe I'm capable of just doing shit now?? this medication is literally the best thing that has ever happened to me 😭😭😭
#still mad that I should have been feeling like this all my life#but better late than never#paroxetine is literally fucking amazing (for me anyway. Delusions are strong with you. Alexi never delivers, so I’m not sure where the optimism is coming from

are we watching the same show? because … he has delivered? chenford was never supposed to happen, it wasn’t something they planned and i can’t believe i’m saying this, but alexi wasn’t actually wrong for the reasons he opposed it early in the series. it was far too complicated and completely went against the morals of both characters — it’s literally the same reason why them hooking up in 5x01 would have been a mistake. the reason that the slow burn worked so well is because both of them fell without even realizing it and once they were able to act on it, there were less challenges which made it easier to get them to a place where they could be canon. granted i know nothing about how a tv show is produced but i’m still willing to bet that for a ship to become canon, the showrunner would have to be on board with it?? which he ultimately was. there are years worth of interviews that show the progression of how his perception changed regarding chenford getting together.
also genuine question — what’s wrong with being optimistic? dude, this world’s shitty enough having a little bit of optimism over a fictional couple is literal bare bones. it costs nothing, it harms no one.
but to answer your question, the optimism comes from choosing to wait and see how a storyline that’s literally at it’s mid-point plays out; it’s trusting the cast and crew who have poured their heart and soul into this show and have way more to lose than i do; it’s having faith in these two characters and the foundation of their relationship (and i don't mean as a couple); and i guess it's just trying to push back on the pessimism because that's not getting anyone anywhere.
oh! and according to you, it’s apparently the delusions being strong with me too ♡ so idk, take your pick, i guess.
p.s. here's some unsolicited advice (but you came to my ask box 🤷) and i truly mean this in the nicest way: try to be a little bit more positive.
you attract the energy you put out into the world. unless there's one of us here who actually works on the show and wants to spill the tea, none of us know what's ahead. going at this already disappointed will only bring you more disappointment, you're setting yourself up for that one, bud.

Do the Robins really think of each other as siblings? I know they all consider Dick a brother and vice versa, but between all them, is there really a sibling dynamic/consideration? Do they ever call each other as such?
Okay, so, off the bat (heh) from the phrasing of this ask I want to clarify something:
Namely that the hero role of ‘Robin’ does not inherently have a familial tie.
‘Robin’ is a hero role that has (in main continuity) been filled by: Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown, Damian Wayne, and in a slightly less formal way Duke Thomas (he was a member of the We Are Robin movement and the most prominently featured of that group, though he did not really act as ‘Batman’s sidekick Robin’ which is why he’s kinda in his own category here but still worth mentioning).
However, that’s not to say there are no familial ties there. From the list of Robins… Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, and Tim Drake are the adopted sons of Bruce Wayne. Damian Wayne is Bruce’s biological son. Duke Thomas was for a time fostered by Bruce, though that is not presently the case (he lives with his uncle instead nowadays). And, while not a Robin, it’s also worth mentioning that Cassandra Cain (Batgirl) is Bruce’s adopted daughter.
So, to answer the baseline question of ‘Do the Robins really think of each other as siblings?’ I would say 'most of them do, the ones that are adopted siblings'. But like, Steph isn't their sister, and they aren't her brothers. That’s simply not the case there, she's never been adopted by Bruce (not to mention one of them—Tim—is literally her ex-boyfriend).
I think it’s very safe to say that among the ‘Dick, Tim, Jason, Damian’ grouping, yes canon has pretty clearly shown that they do all have a brotherly dynamic. They don't all use the specific phrasing that frequently, but it's not uncommon for them to—whether to directly call one another brothers, or to talk about their shared (adopted or otherwise) dad. This isn't to say they are all close or all have good relationships with one another all the time (lol no, Dick & Tim are close/generally have a good relationship, and Dick & Damian are also close/generally have a good relationship, but aside from that things get rockier/vary a lot more) but at the core there's a brotherly thing with all the ups and downs that entails.
To pull some examples of either using that phrasing or showing that kind of dynamic from books published within the last few years:

(Jason & Damian Robin (2021) #5. I do feel the need to mention that on Damian's end this hug was also a distraction to then electrocute Jason. That's just how he is sometimes. but the hug was genuine on Jason's end 🤷)

That’s just some stuff I could think of off the top of my head, there’s definitely more examples (and also if I went further back, but I'm approaching this anon from a 'the current state of things' POV).
Also worth noting that Dick & Damian’s relationship does kinda toe a line between ‘brothers’ and ‘pseudo father-son’ due to Dick needing to fulfill a parental role while Bruce was dead (pre-N52, like, Batman and Robin (2009) era). They’re still more brothers than anything else, but with such a large age gap and the way responsibilities had to be taken due to the situation at the time, it makes things complex, ya know! In general, I think that’s something to keep in mind—it’s not that these guys all lived together as one happy family with Bruce at any given point in time (they did Not), but despite that they still are family. They each have a complicated relationship with Bruce, and complicated relationships with one another, but they are (and see each other as) family regardless. A messy and non-traditional family, but still a family.
The thing I think some people get confused with is the way that the greater 'Batfamily' is more what we think of as a 'found family' where characters don't necessarily fall into traditional familial roles... because that includes people like Barbara Gordon, Stephanie Brown, Helena Bertinelli, etc—people who are bats but are not part of the Wayne family. Like... The Wayne Family and The Batfamily are not synonymous. The Wayne Family is a separate but partially overlapping thing. The Waynes are Bats but not all Bats are Waynes, ya know? And like, it's only further confusing because of how most of Bruce's adopted kids kept their original last names even after adoption, so it's not always clear at a glance who falls into which group if you're not super familiar with the characters.
NOW, the person I think this gets a bit fuzzy with in terms of placement is Duke… he's obviously part of the Batfamily, but where exactly he sits in relation to the Wayne Family has like, been different at different points in time. Because he was Bruce's foster child for a while, and now he isn’t anymore. So in terms of his relationship with the other Robins, it definitely is more familial than like, Steph's relationships with any of the others—because he was their foster brother—but it's not quite as strictly defined as among the 'Dick, Jason, Tim, Damian' grouping. I’m gonna link this post by a Duke-centric blog which goes into some of this more clearly!

Excuse the extremely detailed request, but if you are ok with it, could you do a Black Hat x reader oneshot where the reader is a demon/eldritch abomination similar to Black Hat and they work for him and they both have feelings for eachother but neither of them say anything for a long time and it eventually takes reader getting injured in some way for him to confess to her?
For some background to where the idea came from, My horse pushed me over the other day into a patch of nettles and they stung my hand and arm pretty bad and I had a reaction that meant I needed to get antihistamines from the doctor because it was so bad. while I was recovering, I was struggling to do everyday tasks as the grip in my hand was affected, and I kept dropping stuff and not able to grip thinklgs like door handles properly! It got me thinking how would our favourite eldritch horror react if the person he secretly cared about was injured? Not enough to put them out of action completely, but more just an inconvenience that was affecting their day to day life?
I also remember thinking at one point "what if he kissed it better? Like, his kisses literally made it better? eldritch saliva having healing properties or something?" Idk. It popped into my head and it seemed like an interesting concept at the time!
Sorry if this is too detailed or weird! You don't have to write it if you don't want to! I just don't see many active blogs that write for Black Hat at the moment!

Anyhow, without further ado:
CRASH!
That was the fourth time you'd dropped something today. Luckily though, it was almost time for you to retire from your cleaning duties for the night, but before you had chance to pick up the dropped items, Black Hat growled at you, his fangs showing in a vicious snarl. "What's wrong with you?! you're being even more of a klutz than usual."
You growled back, not intimidated in the least by the other eldritch creature. "I hurt my hand earlier, but what do you care?"
Black Hat huffed and rolled his eyes, his voice becoming softer than you though possible for him: "Why didn't you say something? What did you do?" he put his pen down and turned to face you fully; 'was he actually implying he was going to listen to me?' You thought in disbelief.
"I fell in some of those damned 'killer nettles' of yours when I went out to fetch something." You snarled back, fangs showing slightly in agitation, though any malice remaining in your voice no longer directed at the other Demon but at yourself for your own clumsiness.
His face dropped, the remainder of his malevolent snarl transforming to a look of pure worry, something that looked unsettlingly foreign coming from him: "You bloody idiot! Why didn't you tell me? Those things cause paralysis, you're lucky you're not human, or you'd likely be unable to move for days at the very least. You could be dead!"
You were taken aback by his clear concern, thoughts rushing through your head 'Was he alright? This wasn't like him. Was this even Black Hat sat in front of you right now?' You looked at him not quite sure what to say or do. "Sir?"
"Come here. And don't call me 'sir' when we're alone." His voice was quiet, and despite maintaining his usual air of confidence, the eldritch being refused eye contact, instead looking to the papers on his desk.
"But Si- Black Hat..." as if you were not already confused, his lack of spite really threw you off guard.
"Just come here, will you?" he held out a gloved hand to you. "I just want to check the damage it's done. I'm not going to bite you." If you didn't know better, you'd have said that a small smirk played on his lips at that last comment.
Hesitantly, you took a step toward him, reaching out your injured hand to rest it in his outstretched one. The moment your hands came into contact with each other, he gently pulled you over to where he was sat, the suddenness of the movement causing you to lose your balance and fall into his lap.
Black Hat grinned. "Not so bad, was it? Now, let me see the damage." He turned your hand over in his own, which was surprisingly warm. You'd always imagined he'd be cold for some reason...
You breathed an internal sigh of relief when his attention was no longer on your face and instead on your hand, for by now, you were certain your face had become a shade of red to rival a tomato.
"It could have been a lot worse, but luckily for you, your reactions seem similar to my own. Without treatment, it should return to normal in a few days." he looked back up at you after assessing the damage done to your hand, "but..." and he paused, bringing your injured hand up to his lips and softly kissed the stinging wound.
If you weren't blushing before, you sure as hell were now. 'Who was this man? And what had he done with my boss?' You thought, a mild panic seeping into you at the out of character display of affection.
Ok, so it was no big secret that you had a crush on the other demon, so needless to say, you quite enjoyed the affection he was practically showering you with - for him at least - but it still seemed wrong, or at least a little off; this was not like Black Hat at all.
You opened your mouth to speak, only to shut it again, unable to form words as his forked tongue slipped out to gently lick the stinging red patch covering the palm of your hand and part of your wrist, all the time maintaining eye contact. Despite the embarrassing position, you were beyond grateful for the fact that you were sitting down as you was positive that, had you been standing, your legs would have given out the moment his lips touched your skin.
"... But, with the appropriate remedy, it should be better by tomorrow morning." The eldritch creature smiled, actually smiled - not his usual malevolent, twisted grin - at you. "As you know, to lesser beings, an eldritch being such as myself's saliva is positively lethal, but to a creature of a similar nature, it has rather potent healing properties." The eldritch's arm around your waist tightened slightly, pulling you back against his firm chest.
"Black -" your voice was barely above a whisper, too stunned to say much else.
He purred quietly next to your ear in response before nuzzling into your neck affectionately. "You have no idea what you do to me, my dear."
his quiet voice, along with his breath fanning over your burning skin, sent pleasant shivers down your spine, and it took all of your willpower not to lean back and melt completely into his warm embrace. "wha-what's got into you, sir? Are y-are you feeling alright?"
"Never better, my love..." He hummed, leaning his chin on your shoulder. "I regret not telling you sooner, it's been torturing me since you came to work for me..." he paused for a moment as if considering whether to actually tell you or not. "...I love you."
those three words stunned you into complete silence. what had Demencia put in his coffee?!
"Sir... I-I'm not sure what is wrong with you, but you are not yourself... I think maybe I should get Flug." not that you didn't like the attention you were getting from your boss, just that it was not like him at all and you were by now convinced that somebody (Demencia) had somehow gotten him drunk for some terrible prank.
"Look, don't get Flug there's nothing he can do. It is true that I love you and I have ever since you came to work for me..." it was Black Hat's turn to avoid eye contact. "I know, you find it hard to believe, and so did I for a long time, but I guess flug has his uses after all, as it was his slip up that gave me the confidence to finally confess." The eldritch abomination suddenly didn't seem so terrifying to you. In fact, he seemed, dare you think, quite sweet.
You finally gave in and melted into his embrace; "I love you too, Black Hat." You brought your hand up to the side of his head and tilted your own so that your lips met his own.

ONE FLESH ONE END. ONE FLESH ONE END. its literal?!! you have to fucking absorb your cavalier to become a Lyctor, its literally been outright saying this entire time !!!
i feel vindicated though that i wasn’t crazy that all the challenges were about developing that bond between the cavalier and necromancer, and also that Ianthe was up to something insane!! i don’t think i mentioned it in my posts so far, but i did also pick up on the fact Corona seemed to be a far weaker necromancer than Ianthe, but i didn’t quite realise she’s got no necromantic powers at all
god i really don’t know if Silas would resist killing (... absorbing? 🤷) Colum to becoming a lyctor. not that he’ll get a chance to find out, but still
‘meat suit’ how lovely. also, i was right that there was still so much more opportunity in this book to traumatise me with cannibalism!
become a Lyctor, you too can use the MEAT BUBBLE in a fight!

at least Gideon’s making her best effort to fight the undead Colum! i can understand why it was structured this way, but a lot of this chapter did feel a little passive with Gideon not really doing much for most of it?
Corona what the actual fuck is wrong with you that you want to get your soul absorbed?? i get you have identity issues but still. also is that why she was practicing with a rapier earlier on, to try and be a cavalier?
well. this chapter went absolute full throttle on the body horror & meat imagery, it was an Experience to say the least. the author really thought ‘what if you had to absorb another person’s essence’ and took that to its full and very horrifying conclusion. it was absolutely awful and i loved it

not a therian? Don’t fucking tag it! I literally do not give a single flying fuck if you want to reach more people, that’s not your tag to use. Use your quads tag because THAT’S YOUR community, not therians. Stop forcing yourself into a community that isn’t yours oh my god. And it’s all 8-11 year olds? I’m not one to say your never to young to be something, but if you don’t know what therianthropy is really about, i don’t think you should be trying to put yourself in that community while spreading misinformation 🤷
[TLDR: literal children make me skeptical if they know what label their using actually means.
I recently went somewhere for about a week, and I’d gone to a skatepark. And there were two kids, one around 7 another around 10, both wearing tails. I complimented the 10 year olds tail because i knew they were probably therians or furries (im both) but she asked if i was a therian which i replied yes, and they both flocked towards me a bit more. I didn’t have issues with this, until the 7 year old was doing quads INSIDE the bowl! The skate park had quite a few people there mind you, so they were getting in the way of others. The 10 year old had also said she thought furries were weird? Which made me cackle inside cause girl… look at the community your in, we are all weird /pos but that made me question them, i do not want to fake claim them, but cmon.. any therian would know that furries are like our “cousins” community wise. Also they just seemed so young to understand what being a therian actually means?
i feel a lil mean abt the kids, but if you were in my shoes, im sure you’d feel similar.
