Chapter 44: Facing the Consequences
You awoke with pressure behind your ear. As you become more conscious you realized Kylo was leaving a love mark behind it, for whatever reason. “Ah, Kitten is awake. Good, I need to go to training.” He got up from behind you before pulling you up to do the same.
It was just as early as the other morning you had watched him train. You weren’t coherent enough for this, but he had said that he was going to keep an eye on you so that is what he intended on doing. You were a kitten on a leash or a songbird in a cage. You were attached to his hip.
You got up and got ready this time putting on a turtleneck and trousers in an attempt to hide his love marks. You did a subtle amount of makeup in an attempt to draw attention to your face and not the dark bruise behind your ear. When you came out of the bathroom Kylo hooked a finger in your collar while his lips grazed your cheek before whispering in your ear, “I know exactly what you are doing Kitten.” His finger then widens the opening of your neck while his lips dipped down to make one of your marks darker. His other hand came to squeeze your ass, “Mmm Kitten there is no time to play.”
He was telling you there was no time to play? He was the one obsessed with playing with you, you wanted to be left alone. He was the horny one, your spark mostly ignited when he kissed you or touch you in certain ways. Your body often betraying your brain.
Like the last time, you and he were to have breakfast after training. You were greeted by the lieutenant as usual. You all made your way to the room, the only real difference this time was the presence of Captain Phasma. You joined her and Hux on the outside of the circle. Phasma moved so they were now on either side of you.
Kylo and the knights proceeded to spar. He routinely glanced in your direction, you couldn’t tell if it was because he needed to make sure you were there or if it was because he was looking for something else. You made the conscious decision to ignore him.
The lieutenant produced a cup of stimcaf for you without you having to ask. That man needed a pay raise, you thought as you brought the just right temp liquid to your lips.
You were the first to speak in your little group, “I have been tasked to choose a lady in waiting. And I have no idea how to do it.”
You watched the general who contemplated your predicament, but it was Phasma who spoke up first. “The girl from the shopping center. She seemed to be knowledgable enough about what you would need.”
Before you could respond the Hux asked, “what was her name?”
“Olivia-Rose Gordon,” responded Lieutenant Mitaka.
This caused Hux to look up something on his data pad, “She is 27, unmarried, matchless, no children, a clean record. She would be a good candidate.”
Your head was spinning. “I can’t just ask her to be my lady in waiting.”
“Why not,” asked Phasma.
“Because she might feel pressured to accept and then she will be trapped in space far from home,” the weight of your words not fully hitting you yet.
“I assure you m’lady she will not be trapped. She will be given one of the most prestigious positions in the galaxy. She will be able to travel with you and given many luxuries your planet cannot offer her.”
Your mind was frozen. You knew she would be trapped with you if you were to ask her, would it even be fair? Before you could respond Phasma spoke once more, “she seemed taken with you m’lady, and she seemed interested in the opportunity to travel, she asked about it during her registration.”
“Send someone out of uniform to ask her, I don’t want her to be pressured into it. If she says no, we will need to respect that.”
“As you wish m’lady,” responded the general who then seemed to type out the order on his data pad.
You then just all seem to watch the training, your mind drifted back to the horrifying thought that you will no longer be able to be home in a matter of minutes. That small rational part of your brain kept telling you that you will still be in the solar system for a few days. That you will still be home in a sense.
Your mind then drifted to all the memories you didn’t get to make, all of the Friday nights going out to the bars with Carter and Hayden, all of the birthdays with your nieces and nephews, all of the holidays back at your parents’ place. You had no idea when you would become empress so you had no idea when you would be able to come back, if at all.
If Kylo was any other man you could simply reason with him to end any sort of romantic relationship, and just be platonic matches. You could then be free, and not caged like you are now, but he wasn’t any other man, and your heart wouldn’t be able to take it. You had to face the fact that you loved him, as twisted as he was becoming you did love him.
Another thought drifted into your mind, who would he choose? You were allowed to pick one of your ladies-in-waiting but who would he choose? Did he already know her? Did you already know her? Come to think of it you had yet to ask the general what happened while you were gone. How did Kylo react?
“Tell me general, how did he react to my departure?”
“I was able to have the damage done to your chambers repaired before we returned, but just barely. There are still several communications terminals that need repairs, an entire squadron of ‘troopers are still recovering in the medical bay, as is that female officer,” his voice trailed off.
“Oh, no what did he do to her,” you ask.
“It wasn’t pleasant, to say the least, she has a broken clavicle, a fractured sternum, several cracked ribs, a dislocated shoulder, and broken femur.”
“Why did he do it,” you were concerned you had rather liked her.
“Several reasons apparently, in his eyes she failed to report that you were leaving, both the lieutenant and I had orders from you one way or another as to not tell him, she did not. She had taken a few pieces of jewelry while you were packing, and she has had a not so subtle infatuation with the Supreme Leader. This is not uncommon among some of the younger female officers. Especially if they have had the chance to see him without his helmet.”
“Even if she did do all that she didn’t deserve to be beaten like that.”
“I say she got off better than execution,” replied Phasma. “She also attempted to seduce him once he cornered her.”
You felt as if you were not talking about the same sweet girl that helped you pack. “But she should have been demoted and reassigned, not have the crap beaten out of her.”
“I would have executed her,” commented Phasma.
You looked at her.
“What? It’s what I would have done,” she reasoned. Even through her helmet, you could hear that she was honestly telling the truth.
“I still feel bad, maybe I should go and apologize to her.”
“I don’t think that would be a wise decision m’lady. I also do not believe the Supreme Leader would allow it,” said Hux.
You frowned. Of course, he wouldn’t, but then again he would probably want to escort you so maybe it was for the best, not having him near her.
Kylo and the knights were wrapping up training, all of the high ranking officers done giving him their morning debriefings. Soon you would be at his will once more, following him wherever he pleased. He took your arm in his and took you back to your chambers.
You both ate breakfast before he got ready for the day, while he was in the shower Trudgen and Kuruk were waiting with you along with the lieutenant. You felt as if this was to tell you there would be no running away while he was busy. Once ready he informed you that he had one last meeting at the White House, to set up General Parnadee as the Commander of Earth.
You went about down the halls to the hangar where you were greeted by the large entourage of Hux, Parnadee, Phasma, Pyre and an escort of ‘troopers. Throughout the flight down to the surface Hux and Parnadee were discussing some of the importance of what she would be doing along with how many ‘troopers she would be expected to recruit initially.
The shuttle lands and you all depart. Kylo’s grip on your arm tightens and you feel the Force around you do too. No running. Even if you did have the chance to run, where would you run to?
Your parents would send you back, as would Carter and Hayden. The education they had received would be sure of that. You had no idea what state of mind your siblings would be in but you were pretty sure they were in the same boat. The entire planet was in the same boat. Your ark. And it was your covenant with Kylo that would keep it afloat. Your covenant would end the floods, and the suffering they may receive.
Before you and Kylo enter the room the Hux asked to speak to you for a moment, and by you he meant both of you seeing as Kylo refused to let you go.
“M’lady we have received an answer to your inquiry from earlier this morning,” said Hux.
“We have,” you honestly didn’t expect an answer so soon.
“Yes, m’lady. She has agreed to take the position as your lady-in-waiting. She will join you tomorrow on your departure from the Steadfast to the Supremacy. I have made arrangements for everything she will need. One of our seamstresses will assist you with packing, the lieutenant was kind enough to make an itemized list of your purchases, and everything will be checked. After that, any other trip you shall take one of your ladies-in-waiting will help you prepare,” responded Hux.
Really, he was the one running things, making sure the whole First Order was together and operating with stellar efficiency. Whereas Kylo was the hammer that cracked down anytime he saw fit. He had others do the work, but he made sure those others were people that could do their jobs. Just as he was going to have you be his diplomat. He was an enforcer, a brute, a beast. You would be refined, tame, and calculated. You needed to keep a closer eye on the general to learn tips from him. He almost always knew when to bite back at Kylo and when to hold off, but you suppose it was because they have been doing this dance longer than you had, and he knew all the steps.
Kylo then had Hux enter the room and you were left alone in the hallway with him. A hand came to hook itself under your chin to bring your eyes to meet his, or rather where his were supposed to be under his helmet.
“You will behave yourself. Your people are to believe that Earth is completely under General Parnadee’s control and therefore my control. They are not to know exactly when we are leaving. You will remain quiet unless it is called upon you to speak, do I make myself clear Kitten?”
“Yes, you made yourself very clear, Kylo,” you respond. You could feel his grip on your chin tighten as you said his name. But you had an agreement that if he called you Kitten when you were alone that meant you could call him Kylo.
He released your chin only after his leather-clad thumb swept over your lips, if he wasn’t wearing the helmet he would have kissed you. You entered the room together, much seemed the same except for all the projectors seemed to have video conferences with all of your world’s major leaders, like a giant U.N. meeting. Upon your entrance, everyone stood and gave a weird sort of salute, and in unison said, “Long Live the Supreme Leader.”
All of the eyes of the world leaders looked different than from just over a week ago, they now looked dead. Their eyes had no life behind them, no soul. You were afraid, you were very afraid. Your ark was now tainted with sin, the devil had won. Your people were no longer your people anymore. You were alone in the galaxy.

Call It What You Want 4/?
Pairing: Med student!Poe x Reader (college AU)
A/N: I have an unusual ship going on in this dont come for me if you dont like it okay also I suck at writing summaries
Chapter summary: A new years party that brings more revelations than resolutions
Warning: little angst, drinking, swearing
Word count: ~3.2k
Tumblr media
You never thought you’d ever be excited to attend a party but here you are checking and double checking your reflection in the full height mirror in Jessika’s room.
“Oh god, you look hot okay? Stop hogging the mirror,” She teases you, nudging you aside trying to perfect her eyeliner.
Oh, you look hot, alright, and you feel damn good too. Your cropped sweater top was thick enough to keep you warm and paired with the mini skirt and velvet thigh-highs boots, you feel damn fine in your all black ensemble.
Normally you would’ve opted to stay at home and watch the fireworks all by yourself at midnight from the rooftop. But after a lonely Christmas eating takeout and binge watching shows all by yourself, you just wanted to see you friends again. Rey and the boys were also attending, which made you feel a lot better about going. You had a good feeling about this.
No one was more excited at the prospect of you attending a party than Jessika. She’d basically went through your entire wardrobe to find you something appropriate to wear, then ended up lending you her sequined mini skirt because your all black theme was too gloomy for new years.
“Our ride will be here in five minutes and then we’re gonna find you someone to make-out with at midnight,” Jessika wiggles her eyebrows at you suggestively and you roll your eyes, “Unless, you’d rather make-out with a particular med student you can’t shut up about instead, huh?” She’d been teasing the hell out of you about Poe since you told her about the hot stranger, who saw you fall down the stairs, who also happened to be a friend of a friend who was an adorable med student, dog dad and also afraid of ghosts-
Okay maybe you did talk about him slightly more than anyone else. But that didn’t mean anything did it? “Poe is just my friend, Jess,” You shove at her, sighing in frustration. “And he has a girlfriend,”
“But don’t his friends hate her? I’m sure if you ask, they’d help you break them up and set you up with Poe,” she says, drawing indignant gasp from you.
“Jessika Pava, since when did you start giving out ideas to ruin peoples’ lives?”
“I’m not trying to ruin lives,” She grabs you by your shoulders, bringing you to look at her, features set in a serious frown. You wonder if she was actually being serious for once in her life. “I just want to see you happy, with the man you love,”
Nope, not serious for once. You slap her hands away and she guffaws at your exasperated groan, “God, who said anything about love?”
“So you do like him though, right?” you roll your eyes again, walking away from her to collect you purse from your room. “You didn’t deny it!” You hear her squawk from behind you.
—-
The party was already in full swing when you arrive. Jessika drags you along with her right away to introduce her boyfriend to you for the first time. She had only been dating Snap Wexley for around three months now, but she seemed to really like him.
Snap was a nice person. He was warm and welcomed you into his residence with a huge smile. His apartment was a two storey duplex with a ridiculous amount of patio space. It seemed everyone in your college were filthy rich, except you.
The entire place is crowded, music blaring from the speakers and people dressed in sparkling attires, milling around. Thankfully, you recognize almost no one, though it seemed like Snap had invited almost half of the entire campus.
Jessika loops her arm around yours, pulling you along into the house. You see Rey excitedly waving you over from the living room and you happily tackle her and Finn in a hug.
Jessika gels right in with the two of them although this was the first time they got to meet. Extroverts. The night goes on as both Finn and Rey animatedly recount their holiday stories and in no time, the four of you are laughing at Finn’s reenactment of how his cousin almost broke the Christmas tree in half, trying to decorate it.
“Where’s Poe?” You ask, noticing the absence of the third member of their little clique. Not like you were searching for him or anything.
Rey shrugs, “He should be here soon, he said he was about leave the house,” then her attention shifts to behind you, “Oh look, he’s here,” Rey motions.
You see him from across the room and your breath catches at the sight of him. Dressed in a navy blue button up tucked into his dark jeans with the sleeves rolled up, he looks handsome as ever, with an arm around his girlfriend’s waist. Your chest tightens for an entire different reason at the sight.
Then the entire conversation you had with Jessika earlier on plays in your head. You couldn’t possibly like Poe right? He was just your friend.
They look good together, like some celebrity couple that just stepped out of a magazine. Sarah’s dressed in a burgundy cocktail dress that fits her like a glove, elegantly coiffed curls sits on her shoulders, not a hair out of place. Something like jealousy curdles in your stomach and you stomp it out before it grows into something ugly. But not before it spoils your mood entirely.
“Urgh, he’s with that witch,” Finn scoffs beside you. You have no idea why Finn hates Poe’s girlfriend so much. He really isn’t the type to just be mean to people for no reason and it also confuses you to no end that Rey seems to agree with him. Not that it was any of your concern, anyways. So you brush it off.
You make the mistake of turning back to the pair just in time as Sarah pulls Poe in for a kiss. You quickly avert your gaze elsewhere. The excitement you felt since morning completely drains out of you. Suddenly, the last place you want to be in was anywhere surrounded with people.
“I’m going to get something to drink,” You inform Jessika, unhooking your arms from her. You break away from your small group without another word, before she even gets the chance to react.
—-
Poe never thought he’d ever feel this miserable around people. Because these weren’t his people. He wanted to run to where his childhood friends were standing as soon as he had caught sight of them. Unfortunately, he couldn’t do that. He was to busy being talked at by people he barely knew. This was the last place he ever wanted to be.
But Poe keeps up the pretense of a happy couple and feigns through the crowd convincingly enough to not invoke the wrath of the woman beside him. Poe follows Sarah, steering away from the corner where he spotted his friends. Having Finn and Sarah in the vicinity was just a recipe for disaster. He had only made that mistake once.
Poe finds you weaving through the crowd, hurriedly moving past everyone with a singular destination in mind. And you look...wow.
Poe remotely registers that he shouldn’t be ogling you from afar with his girlfriend right beside him. Despite that, he just can’t seem to tear his eyes away from your figure until you disappear around the corner.
Your outfit complements your figure just right, and your boots- Shit. He catches himself wondering how soft your thighs would feel under his fingertips.
Shut the fuck up, Dameron! He scolds himself, forcing his thoughts back to the present. He really shouldn’t be thinking about you like that.
He wonders how far his imagination would go if he didn’t try to stop it. No. He really shouldn’t. A tug on his arm brings him back to reality as he gets dragged along to patio, half against his will.
—-
“Shit, shit, shit,” you curse as the liquid sloshes out of the cup spilling onto the table.
“Are you always this clumsy?” You yelp as a tall figure materializes behind you, almost making you drop the cup. “Relax, its just me,” Ben Solo passes you a roll of kitchen towel for the mess.
You had managed to somewhat befriend Ben over the course of two weeks while the two of you worked on your assignment together. He wasn’t bad company.
“How long have you been standing there?” You mop up the beer on the table, “And how did I not see you?”
“Lost in thought?” he shifts back to his previous position, perfectly blending in with the wall painted black. Huh, no wonder you didn’t notice him.
“Um, no,” you lie. “Who are you hiding from?”
“People, in general.” He replies like it’s the most obvious thing in the world. But of course, you understand.
You hear bright laughter before you see a head of blonde hair walk towards the kitchen. Her eyes light up in recognition when she sees you standing there, “Hey, it’s you! We have that class together, right?” You try your best to make small talk but thankfully Phasma was chatty enough for it to not feel awkward while she collects her drink.
She turns to leave and then startles when she sees Ben standing against the wall, casually sipping on his beer. You’re pretty sure he didn’t mean to position himself like a Halloween decoration meant to sneak up and scare everyone, but you wouldn’t put it past him to do just that.
“Oh hey, Solo. Didn’t see you there,” She quickly recovers, sending him a bashful smile.
“Hey, Phasma,” Ben replies, barely meeting her gaze and shifting on his foot, cheeks dusting pink as she brushes past him. Your eyes widen when you realize what just happened.
“Oh my god, Ben, do you like her?” You whisper-shout at him once you’re sure she’s out of earshot.
“What? No, what are you talking about?” He tries to act nonchalant but the pink in his cheeks turns to a full blown scarlet, giving him away.
“Is that why you’re hiding in the kitchen?” You tease him. “Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone,”
“Who are you hiding from?” He throws back at you.
“I’m not hiding,” it was your turn to act nonchalant.
“Really? Then why are you here?” He crosses his arm, scepticism evident in his tone.
“To get a drink,” you raise your beer as if to prove your point.
“Oh so you’re gonna leave now, right?” He raised an eyebrow at you, not buying your excuse.
“What? Is this your kitchen now?” Leaning on the counter, you roll your eyes, relenting. “Fine, I’m hiding. Let’s not talk about this anymore,”
---
“I don’t know, she seemed a little down all of a sudden,” Finn leans against the patio parapet, facing Rey. Raucous laughter bursts through the quite night from the group gathered on the other side of the patio.
You had disappeared after telling them you were ‘going to get a drink’ and Jessika had informed Rey that you were still in the kitchen only minutes earlier. Rey couldn’t help but wonder if there was something going on with you.
“Maybe she’s just tired, Rey,” Finn pulls her into his embrace, trying to comfort her. Rey worries to much about other people. It was just in her nature to try and take care of everyone she could and Finn loves her for that. But sometimes it also causes her more stress than she needs.
Rey rests her head on his shoulder, “Maybe,” You seemed pretty pumped to be hanging out with all of them, why did you deflate so suddenly?
“Oh my god,” She pulls away from the embrace, looking at Finn in shock from her sudden realization, while Finn watches her, confused about what caused her outburst. “I think she likes Poe!” Finn continues staring at Rey in confusion, unsure how she came to that conclusion. “Think about it! She was fine until Poe came waltzing in with his girlfriend,” she gestures frantically to the pair on the other side of the patio, Sarah practically draped across Poe, the two of them looking like the embodiment of an ideal couple. Only in the outside.
“Oh... OH,” Finn exclaims when it finally hit him. “Is she jealous? I don’t know, maybe hurt?”
“If only he wasn’t with her,” Rey couldn’t keep the malice out of her tone at the mention of Sarah. “We can’t even do anything about it now,”
“I’m really gonna kick Poe the next time I get a chance.” Finn groans. Finn really would’ve loved to meddle with his best friend’s life, but in this scenario it would only make things more complicated. But the drama was so tempting.
“Kick me for what?” Poe’s voice startles the both of them as they swivel around to look at him. How the hell did he walk across so quickly?
“Heyyy, Poe, didn’t see you there,” Rey forces a chuckle from herself, trying not to look too suspicious.
“Yeah! Hey, Poe,” Finn adds lamely.
Poe narrows his eyes at the two of them acting all dubious. It was never a good sign. He’s been on the receiving end of way too many of their pranks to not know what that look meant. He sighs, thinking, what’s one more prank in the joke that is his life right now?
---
“So... Phasma, huh?” You start again, determined to get something out of the brooding man beside you. If you’re going to spend the rest of the night in the kitchen, you might as well try to get entertainment out of your fellow anti-social buddy.
“I thought we weren’t talking about that anymore,” he mumbles. You grumble something about him being no fun under your breath. “I’ll tell you if you tell me,” he bargains with you.
You contemplate your choices. Surely it wouldn’t do any harm telling Ben about Poe right? “Okay, fine,” one advantage of taking refuge in the kitchen was that you had a free flow of drinks. You were on your third cup of whatever was in the punch bowl and feeling slightly tipsy. “There’s this guy I kinda sorta like, but he’s also my friend,”
“Why don’t you just talk to him if you’re friends?” Ben questions you.
“He’s here with his girlfriend,”
“Oh,” He winces as you nod your head in agreement.
“My turn. Why don’t you talk to Phasma?”
“I don’t want to?” He answers you, unsure, more like question instead.
“You’re just scared, aren’t you?” It was pretty obvious. Fear was the reason so many people held back from doing what they want.
Ben sighs heavily before turning to you, lowering his voice a little more “I just don’t wanna screw this up, okay? I really like her and I don’t know how to talk to her,”
“So you’d rather not try?” Ben just shrugs. “I think you should ask her out,” you give him your opinion. “Okay consider this. The worse thing that could happen is that things between you two remains the same. But if you try, at least you’d know,”
“The worst thing that could happen is that she throws her beer in my face infront of everyone,” You couldn’t help the laughter that bubbles out of you from the picture he paints. “But I get where you’re coming from,”
“Okay, maybe don’t immediately ask her out. Just chat with her a little, first.” You reach up to pat him on the shoulder, “Whenever you’re ready,”
“Wait, right now?” He whips his head around to look at you, alarmed at the prospect.
“Then when? After your graduation?” You sass. Ben takes a deep breath steeling himself.
“Okay,” He pushes himself off the counter, smoothing down his shirt, then his hair. He takes a step forward, then turns back to you, “Do I look okay?”
You give him a reassuring smile, poor boy was so nervous. “You look great, Ben,”
He takes another step forward then immediately propels backwards again, turning to you, “What if I get rejected?”
“Then we’ll ditch the party and get greasy pizza from that shop around the corner,” you promise him, earning a grateful smile from him.
Another step forward and he turns back, again. “What if-”
“Oh god, Ben just go!”
“Okay, fine fine,”
—-
You carefully position yourself in the kitchen so that you’d still have a view of what was going on in the living room but still be hidden from sight. It’s been a few minutes since Ben had gone on his mission to ask his crush out.
As the clock strikes closer to midnight, the crowd gravitates towards the patio to watch the fireworks. You follow, staying at the back of the crowd. The whole place was packed.
You briefly wonder if you could just pick up your coat and leave. You could take a nice long walk back to your apartment and curl up with a book and mug of tea. You had promised Jessika you’d stay, but you were also tempted to leave. She was already in her boyfriend’s care anyways.
You can clearly see Ben’s tall figure sticking out in the crowd. It’s not easy to miss him. Surprisingly, he spots you easily in the dark as well. He sends you a discreet thumbs up and you respond with no lack of enthusiasm on your part. At least one of you were having a good time. Good for him.
You wrap your arms around yourself, trying to keep yourself protected from the cold. But it finds a way to your bones anyways. It seems it was your curse to spend all your time all by yourself, year after year. You couldn’t remember the last time you had your family around you, opening Christmas presents together in the morning and watching the fireworks on New Year’s Eve. Although this time was kind of your fault. You could’ve still hung out with Rey or Jess, but you really didn’t feel like it.
Well, if this was what the rest of your life was going to be like, then you’ve already had enough practice for it.
—-
Poe watches the firework being set off in the distance. The light and the colours painting itself across the night sky, ebbing and flowing like waves. One disappears and another one explodes, sending a different shade shining through the sky.
From his vantage point, he could clearly see Finn and Rey, arms encasing each other, giggling at something. So content to just be in each other’s company. He wants that so much it aches.
Sarah’s arms around his feels like lead, weighing him down, and he wishes it were someone else’s. Finn was right. He shouldn’t have let himself be treated like he was expendable.
Maybe in this new year he’d finally let go of his fear and look for someone who actually loves him. In this new year Poe decides he deserves better.

Office Romance: Ch. 10 Promotion
Tumblr media
General Hux and Kylo Ren have found themselves competing for the affection of a lieutenant aboard the Finalizer.
Series Warnings: Language, some violence, near-death experiences.
Masterlist
As General Hux walked to his meeting with the Supreme Leader, he focused on clearing his mind, forcefully ridding himself of the unease that had plagued him since that day in the medbay. After his conversation with Ren, he had gone to the bridge and passed control over to Mitaka with the message that he was not to be disturbed. He awoke the next day bleary-eyed, still in his uniform, hungover off a now-empty bottle of whiskey and a deep shame curdling in his stomach. Shit.
Lucky for the general, he was skilled in damage control, having worked with Ren for so long. He had immediately gone to talk to Phasma, who forgave him readily, after he promised that he would stop being, in her words, such a little bitch. They had fallen back into an easy routine, and Phasma had not mentioned it again. Unfortunately, it had not been so easy to get back on good terms with you.
They had not let him back into the medbay. The doctor had been adamant that you needed to rest, but he had a sneaking suspicion that they were worried about him starting another shouting match. Hux was trying to be on his best behavior, and so he had left and not returned, but now a week had passed and he still hadn’t spoken to you. You had been released from care, he knew that much, although you hadn’t been approved for regular duty. He told himself that he had no need to worry, that he had not sought you out yet because he wanted his apology to be perfect. But what if you didn’t forgive him? Or worse, what if you wouldn’t give him the chance to apologize at all?
A squeezing sensation wrapped around the general’s heart, and he forced himself to let go of that fear, and any other thoughts that could be used against him, as he reached the meeting room. No meeting with the Supreme Leader could be called routine, but at least Hux knew why he had been summoned this time. He made his report succinctly, explaining the damage that had been done to Starkiller Base in the crash (minimal), the number of assets lost (one ship), and number of casualties (none).
“And the lieutenant?” Snoke asked, the first words he had spoken since the general had entered the room. Hux forced himself to keep calm, restraining the emotions that were threatening to break down the walls he had put up before the meeting began.
“What about her, sir?” Hux was trying to stay calm, but Snoke’s interest in you was laced with danger. Snoke leaned forward, coming closer to Hux, looming, his massive form filling the room.
“What about her?” He laughed, a singular, sharp sound and Hux squeezed his fists tighter to avoid flinching, “She ran into the wreckage and managed to live, obviously very brave. But I want to know how you find her, General, since you have such astute observational skills.” Snoke laughed again at Hux’s expense, sitting back in the throne.
“The lieutenant is an excellent soldier. Highly skilled in combat, an exceptional strategist, and loyal to the Order,” Hux responded, ignoring the insult. Snoke sneered at him.
“Honestly, General, your lust for her is unmistakable, even though you try to hide it. What would your father say? Pathetic.” Hux stood his ground but refused to speak, keeping his face an impassive mask as Snoke berated him.
“I’d like to meet her,” he continued, and an icicle of fear pierced Hux through the heart.
“Now, sir?” His pulse was rapid, and he knew that Snoke had sensed it. He had hoped to protect you from all of this, but there was no way for him to refuse the Supreme Leader without drawing more attention to his weakness for you.
“Yes, now. Go find her. I’ll be waiting,” Snoke narrowed his eyes, and Hux turned to leave, hoping it would be a long time before he found you.
The burn in your lungs was a good one, familiar, this time. It had been too long since your last run, and the sheer joy of it struck your chest as you pushed yourself to move faster, pumping your arms more vigorously and leaning into your momentum. The finish line was in sight, and you felt the strain in your muscles as you willed yourself over it, only slowing once you had reached your goal. Mitaka was already there—he had always been a better runner than you—and you stopped, checking your time and feeling the pulse point at your neck as the blood rushed through your veins.
“Damn, a whole minute slower than my usual,” you spoke more to yourself than to Mitaka, annoyed that more than just memories of the crash were still holding you back. Kendale staggered over the finish line then, breathing heavily and clutching her side. She had agreed to come with you as moral support for your first run since the accident, but she was not used to the same rigorous training, and it showed. She hobbled over to you and Mitaka, fanning herself with both hands.
“I thought you were supposed to be taking it easy,” she said, pointing an accusatory finger at you, her panting punctuating each word.
“This is me taking it easy,” you laughed, nudging her in the side, and Mitaka threw his arm over your shoulder in a sweaty embrace. Your heart swelled; after staying in the medbay with only a few attendants and a med droid for company, being with your friends again was wonderful, the most normal moment you had experienced in a while. But normal didn’t last, and your expression darkened, thoughts of the crash always at the back of your mind.
“Seriously, though,” Mitaka said with concern, “how are you feeling?” You fidgeted under their gaze—his and Kendale’s—hating the sting of tears that materialized so easily lately.
“I’m alright, Doe,” you told him, shrugging out of his grasp. Maybe saying it often enough would make it true, but the heavy feeling in the pit of your stomach confirmed that you were still very much not okay.
“Have you . . . talked to the general yet?” Kendale asked in a whisper, looking around to make sure no one overheard your conversation. You had told both of them what had happened, with Hux and with Ren—or at least a heavily edited version of what had happened—as soon as you had been released back to your quarters. They had wanted to know about the crash, but you couldn’t explain it, didn’t have the power to put it into words, and so you had told them about the conflict in the medbay instead.
“No,” your reply came out like a sigh. You had talked back to one of your superiors, screamed at him, and you knew that even though you were right, it hadn’t been justified. You spent the first few days in the medbay out of your mind, terrified that the general would come in and have you removed from the ship, fired for insubordination.
“I’m sure it’ll be fine,” Mitaka said, as he gathered his things, but you could always tell when he was lying. You wanted him to be right, but couldn’t stand the idea of getting your hopes up.
“You weren’t there to see it, Doe; I was awful to him. And the general is not a forgiving man.” Neither of them argued with you, and the sinking feeling inside of you intensified.
You said goodbye to them as they left to get ready for their shifts, looking forward to a shower and some fresh clothes after your workout. And maybe a nap. You had only been awake for a few hours but you could feel yourself getting sleepy, your body still in the process of healing. Every hint of exhaustion disappeared and replaced itself with panic, however, as soon as you recognized the general waiting outside the door to your quarters.
“Lieutenant,” General Hux addressed you as you walked up to him, “your presence has been requested.” You couldn’t detect any outright anger in his voice, but there was an icy formality in the way he spoke. Shit. So you were going to get fired. He had just waited until you were out of the medbay to do it.
“Of course, General . . . Could I change first?” It seemed like a long shot, but you didn’t want to go into your termination meeting still sweaty from your run. Being let go was shameful enough already.
“Unfortunately, we don’t have time. The Supreme Leader is waiting.” You felt the blood rush from your face, and your knees threatened to buckle. Hux grabbed you by the elbow to steady you, the mask of indifference slipping for only a moment as you righted yourself.
“What?” Your head was reeling, and your heart beat thudded heavily in your chest. “What does he want with me?”
“I’m not sure, Lieutenant,” Hux responded, looking nervous. Fuck. You had never seen him look this anxious before, and the idea of him not knowing something had always been an impossibility. Hux hesitated to speak, looking worried that you might fall over again. “It’s best not to keep him waiting,” he spoke quietly, and once he was sure that you wouldn’t faint, he began walking down the hallway, waiting for you to follow. You walked closely behind, your mind in chaos.
If you were being taken to Snoke, were you still being dismissed? The Supreme Leader didn’t usually involve himself in petty complaints like this, rarely involved himself at all in terms of how the Finalizer was run, as far as you knew. So why would he want to see you? Only the most terrible explanations came to mind: you were being questioned, they suspected you were a spy, you would be tortured for information. You fretted as you walked, so focused on figuring out why you were needed that you didn’t notice that Hux had stopped a few paces behind you.
“What is it?” you asked, turning to him.
“Lieutenant, I-” Hux was not making eye contact with you, and you watched the fingers of his right hand beat rapidly against his thigh. Everything about him right now made you nervous, the additional anxiety only worsening your growing panic. He reached for you then, grabbing you by the hand, and pulling you into a nearby alcove.
The space was compact, sheltered from the hallway, and although there was still a small distance between you and him, the privacy of the area made it feel as if you were closer. You noticed the pale freckles dotting his cheeks, a little at odds with the sharp angles of his face. Hux cleared his throat, and you forced yourself to look him in the eyes, hoping he couldn’t read your thoughts in your expression.
“I know that this isn’t ideal timing, Lieutenant, so I’ll be prompt. I wanted to apologize for my behavior.” He looked at you steadily, but you could still see his hand out of the corner of your eye, drumming away at his leg. An apology? You had not expected it, had not really wanted one. Any anger you had felt towards him was long gone, and a sick guilt came over you in response.
“You don’t have to apologize to me, General. It was a heated moment, and really I am the one who should be sorry-” he cut you off with a gently-raised hand before you could finish.
“Please, Lieutenant, let me do this. My behavior in the medbay was unacceptable, but more importantly, I was wrong to question your judgement,” he paused to take a breath, and his eyes found yours again, his gaze so piercing that it stopped the breath in your lungs. “What you did, running into the ship, saving Ren, was very brave. Probably one the bravest things I’ve ever seen. I’m sorry that I doubted you.” You wanted to respond but didn’t know how, the sea-glass color of his eyes holding your brain hostage, scrambling any coherent thoughts you might have had.
“It’s just-” he continued, speaking haltingly now, the honesty of his confession clearly painful for him, “I am not a well-liked man. Respected, of course, but not admired. I’m sure that many members of the Order, and the crew here, would be glad to see me dead. There are not many people that I can trust, and your loyalty to me—to this organization, I mean—is invaluable . . . and I would hate to think that I had lost it.” He looked away from you then, breaking eye contact and allowing you to breathe. Instinctively, you reached forward, stopping the restless twitch of his hand with your own, the leather of his glove smooth against your fingers.
“Thank you for your apology, General,” your voice was heavy, and you lifted your free hand to your face, finding tears coating your cheeks. You released Hux’s hand and wiped the tears away, embarrassed. “And I’m sorry that I yelled at you,” you said, laughing self-consciously at your own apology, which felt terribly inadequate after everything that he had said. The general laughed too, quietly, a soft smile on his face. The display of happiness, small as it was, changed him, made him look like a different person, and for a moment you forgot about the fear that had been plaguing you.
“We should go,” he said, and you nodded, feeling a little more optimistic now. You followed him down the hallway once again and prepared to face the Supreme Leader.
Ren waited outside of the meeting room, trying to make sense of the information he had just been given. He couldn’t, and he sincerely hoped that Hux hadn’t been able to find you, that you would be held off from the meeting for a little longer while he came up with a solution to this new problem.
Unfortunately, he sensed that your presence was close, and the general’s as well. Ren faltered, hoping you wouldn’t notice the fear on him. Or embarrassment: he hadn’t seen you since that day in the medbay, and even though he had been released first—had thought about you every day since—he had not tried to visit. Things might be different now between you, after all that had happened. Maybe you would stop filling with dread at the sight of him . . . but he didn’t want to know for sure. Not that it mattered, any chance he had would be shot to shit once Snoke took you away.
You appeared around the corner, and Ren could tell that neither of you felt as nervous as he did, which meant that Hux didn’t know the truth about you either. The general seemed a little too happy for Ren’s liking, and the two of you looked amicable. Apparently you had forgiven him already. Ren watched as Hux’s happiness was replaced with annoyance as soon as the two men made eye contact.
“What are you doing here?” Hux spoke with barely-concealed contempt, and for Ren the feeling was mutual.
“The Supreme Leader requested my presence. I’ve been waiting for both of you to arrive.” Hux ignored Ren’s reply, and instead turned to you, placing a gentle hand on your shoulder.
“It will be alright,” he said to you softly, like he knew what he was talking about. Hux walked through the open door first, shooting a smug look at Ren but leaving the two of you alone in the hallway for a moment. You reached out to Ren, no longer afraid—even though he wore the mask—and brushed the back of your hand against his in greeting. The simple touch sent sparks over Ren’s skin, and his mouth went dry.
“Are you okay?” You looked up at him through your lashes, a little shy, and he nodded in response, compelled to lie if it might make you happy. A smile broke on your face, and Ren could not think of a person he wouldn’t ruin to keep it there.
You removed your hand from his and walked through the doorway, determined, and an overwhelming sorrow filled Ren again. He was out of time. You bowed to the Supreme Leader, and Ren came to stand at your left, on the opposite side from the general. Snoke overshadowed the three of you, towering all the way to the ceiling, intimidating even through the holo projector.
“Greetings, Lieutenant,” Snoke addressed you, and Ren could feel your apprehension intensify.
“Supreme Leader, it is an honor,” you inclined your head, avoiding eye contact, properly humble, but your voice was clear and strong as you spoke.
“Do you know why you are here, Lieutenant?” Snoke didn’t wait for an answer, he could feel it in your thoughts that you didn’t, “I wanted to personally commend you for your bravery. You saved the life of my most formidable apprentice in an act of incredible valor, and the First Order owes you its gratitude.” Ren could feel it as Hux mentally rolled his eyes; apparently he didn’t agree with Snoke’s claims about Ren’s importance.
“Thank you, sir,” you responded.
“Bravery is an important quality in any soldier, but loyalty,” Snoke paused, gauging the effect of his words, and Ren sensed Hux stiffen at the memory brought forward: his apology to you in the hallway, only moments ago. “Loyalty,” Snoke continued, “is very rare indeed. I sense your loyalty to the Order. I’d like to reward you for that loyalty, Lieutenant, with a promotion.” Ren furrowed his brow in confusion—this was not what he had expected. “General Hux has refused to pick a second-in-command, and so I will choose one for him. Congratulations, Lieutenant General. I hope you do not disappoint me.”
“I’m honored, sir,” you saluted Snoke, a stunned expression on your face, but your thoughts were exploding with pride, and Hux, too, was over the moon. Ren could hardly believe what he had just heard. This doesn’t make any sense. How would you work as the second-in-command if . . .
“There’s one more thing we need to discuss,” Snoke said, and Ren felt a rolling dread crash into him. It was time for the truth to come out.
“How long have you known that you are force-sensitive?”

Error: Program Not Found - Seven
Tumblr media
Summary:  You are in charge of programming the droids that work most closely with both General Hux and Kylo Ren. Unbeknownst to you, each of these two men have it in their heads that your relationship extends beyond the workplace. This causes things to escalate quickly when your two apparently secret boyfriends compare notes on their respective partner who is far too similar for their liking.
Read on AO3
“There are many things we only see clearly in retrospect.” - Haruki Murakami
 Seven: Retrospection
Being a programmer, one thing that you were good at was focusing on the small details. This sometimes happened during retrospection when pertaining to conversations. There were nights that you would obsess over lines of programming that you had to edit, that bothered you in the final project. Other times, when it came to the aforementioned conversations, you would fall asleep while replaying the scenes over and over in your mind. This more often than not resulted in your dreams having a rather playful spin on what had happened in reality or else gave a warped perspective of what could happen in the future.
 At this point, you were not quite asleep though you felt yourself teetering on the edge of consciousness. You wiggled your toes to try to jerk yourself back into wakefulness so that you were able to finish replaying what had occurred earlier in your head. You were specifically focused on how General Hux had described the moment he and Kylo Ren learned that their “girlfriend” was the same person.
 General Hux had shot a glowering look in Kylo Ren’s direction before opening his mouth to reply to your request. “I was working on the damage report for the droids--the manufacturers will be reimbursing the cost, you can count on that--when Kylo Ren came to deliver the results of your test. Naturally I was unsurprised by your thoroughness. I stated as much, as I feel having a work-driven significant other holds many benefits. They understand the importance of their duty. Surprisingly, Ren agreed. He hadn’t believed we would see eye-to-eye on anything. I had not believed that he was intimate with anyone.” Kylo Ren started to curl his hands into fists as a means of controlling his temper. You caught the act out of the corner of your eye.
 “When he stated that he worked in close proximity with his...girlfriend…” General Hux wrinkled his nose in a display of distaste, as though he could hardly believe that anyone would be interested in Kylo Ren. “...I stated that mine also worked at my side whenever possible. That she was not using her position to further her career. It was something similar to his own relationship. His, according to Ren, did well under pressure. More than mine would. I doubted this given that you--that my significant other had been placed in his path before as well as had to deal with senators.
 “‘A coincidence,’ he had said. His worked with droids of multiple specialities. An odd coincidence, I thought, but said nothing. Instead I supplied that mine was the lead on many such projects. Discreet in showing her affection.” What? “Ren said that his girlfriend was less subtle, although she played it off by using her droid to help instigate things when in a more public venue.” No. That was just TeeArr being TeeArr.
 “The lady I was with enjoyed being pampered, receiving gifts. She would pretend to be shy when they were purchased. Use them when they arrived. Ren’s significant other did not like gifts. They would distract her from work.” Both of them were wrong in their own way. Not surprising given their delusions.
 You were jerked out of that particular memory as your mind wandered towards the slippers that General Hux had left for you in his quarters. They were still there as far as you knew, however you did not know if it would be rude to ask for them. He had believed you to be his girlfriend when he had bought them for you. You drew your legs up towards your stomach and reached down to feel your feet, which still had small blisters from the heeled shoes. Using the lotion now felt awkward despite the fact that General Hux had assured you that you could keep it. It was more that you could not help but wonder if he had ever expected to be the one to massage it into your feet. Such a thought gave you mixed feelings. On one hand, it was not an unappealing idea. On the other, you had never thought of him that way.
 You had not thought of either of them that way until this past stretch of cycles.
 Suddenly you felt more awake than tired. Your mind was starting to race over any action that you had performed while in their presence that would have led them to believe you were interested in them. You could admit to being more comfortable around them than others appeared to be. That stemmed from your job. It was part of your work to give proposals to the heads of organizations. You had done that before working for the First Order. The two men had hyper fixated on some of your character traits and ignored others. This had to be due to their limited socialization with others outside the workplace.
 It made you feel like a surrogate for their feelings; romanced by proximity. You pinched the bridge of your nose as a pulsing began behind your eye. It was quickly becoming a pounding, the first sign of an oncoming headache due to stress.
 “I pointed out that this could be indicative that the lady he was with did not want any physical tokens of affection that could be seen by others. It might well be detachment and their relationship was a matter of convenience.” Kylo Ren bristled at those words. You tried your best to not react, well aware that this had to have been the turning point in their conversation. Sure enough, things devolved rapidly into comparisons designed to shame the other.
 Maker above, you needed sleep. There were numerous projects for you to work on and going into a new day with little to no sleep would be idiotic. While you were not opposed to using sleeping aids, you would rather not due to the grogginess that persisted through the majority of the next cycle. In many ways that was just as bad as no sleep. You pressed three fingers on either side of your temple and started to slowly massage the areas. You then applied some pressure near the bridge of your nose then stroked outwards along the underneath of your eyes, hoping to ease any pressure that might be sinus related. Focusing on this instead of what had happened earlier was helping your mind to quiet.
 In time, it must have worked to help lull you to sleep being that the next thing you knew TeeArr was prodding you with one of his fingers rouse you from your slumber. You waved a hand in the air to dismiss the droid. TeeArr knew you too well, however, and so insisted that you sit up before he left the bedside. It was with a groan that you complied. The droid was too persistent for you to not. Glowering, you thought of how much of TeeArr’s obstinance could work well in the anti-procrastination droids. General Hux would not find such fault with your protocol droid after that!
 General Hux.
 The name elicited a groan as what had happened the previous day came rolling forward like a tidal wave. It was much too early to deal with that particular headache. You readied yourself for the day. It had been agreed that you would not work on the training droids. A second programmer was being brought it; this was standard procedure, although you were more sensitive to it after having been tested. Captain Phasma had you working with a different series of droids for her stormtroopers during reconnaissance missions. Human error could occur no matter how well trained they were. These droids had to be basic. Easy for a stormtrooper to destroy if the situation called for it, but tough enough that the enemy could not damage them so easily. What this meant was proper shields and cloaking. Limited intelligence as well. Much like a typical probe droid. Captain Phasma wanted this droid to be less conspicuous than those. Smaller, you thought. Compact, possibly something that could be hidden in a small pack that a stormtrooper could carry. Lightweight.
 Already you had managed to again distract yourself from matters pertaining to General Hux and Kylo Ren. TeeArr walked at your side in the direction of the mess hall. His current silence did not alarm you. He was often more at ease in the days following a cleaning. This was not an uncommon occurrence with droids and you had often reasoned that the same could be said for people of many species. What was striking you as odd in regards to TeeArr’s behavior was that normally while on the way to a project assigned by Captain Phasma, his metallic footfalls would be louder. TeeArr was making a visible effort to be less conspicuous, which you noticed each time you glanced his way.
 “Do you know something that I don’t?” you teased. The droid’s servos twitched, a rather humanoid gesture that stemmed more from its ability to observe and learn than any programming you had done. It struck you just why you felt so fondly for this droid; he was something like a child to you, your child. That Kylo Ren had chosen to strike off a limb instead of destroying it outright did have a greater meaning. He had managed to restrain himself in some capacity. A show of affection--a rather strange one that you did not know how to feel about. You sucked your lips into your mouth then allowed them to pop back into place. TeeArr had yet to answer your question. “TeeArr…” There was a warning growl that issued from you at the very end of the droid’s designation.
 TeeArr set his optics on your face. “You are my Maker.” Cue you narrowing your eyes in equal amounts suspicion and confusion. “Should someone woo you, what does that make them to me?” This droid was most definitely like your child. The muscles in your arms jumped, your limbs beginning to shift towards TeeArr before you caught yourself. Offering TeeArr a hug of comfort in this public setting would draw more attention than what was already falling upon you. One of the stormtrooper pairs that were patrolling this sector had walked past, their helmets trained on you longer than was necessary. It was easier to convince yourself that this was because of your current company instead of whatever gossip had managed to spread.
 “No one is wooing me, TeeArr. Don’t you worry about that.”
 “Suppose they did,” he countered without missing a beat. You, having turned to resume walking, felt yourself faltering in your steps. The problem that you had with this conversation was not only that it was taking place in a public venue. It was that you had not considered entering a relationship any time soon. The workload on your plate was immense. If you absolutely wanted to, sure, you could balance a relationship and a career. You hadn’t wanted to though. Didn’t, you thought with a scowl. You hated that realization was dawning that a part of you would not mind it.
 With a barked out order for TeeArr to follow after you, you began to march on. Your heavy footsteps startled some of the officers, who stiffened and either hurried to get out of your way or else looked then relaxed as they saw it was you instead of someone else. Instead of Kylo Ren. You felt a scream bubbling up in your throat. Others had compared your work ethics to General Hux. That had been something you viewed as praise. Now, should anyone say as much, you would hate that they had spoken to you at all. Just the same as you disliked the similarities you had with Kylo Ren. The impact each of these had was not dissimilar to a sucker punch to the gut. You did not want to think about them.
 It was with a great sense of relief that you sank down into the chair at the work desk that had been prepared for your arrival. The surface of the desk was littered with three separate datapads as well as two comm units, one holoprojector, and a thermos filled with hot tea. You knew that it was tarine tea by the smell of it. It was difficult to keep from staring at it. Your face was arranged in a visible battle of perplexity and wonderment. The tea might have been forgotten by another, that was not unheard of. Captain Phasma could have ordered it to be delivered as she was aware of what the assignment entailed--a full shift, for a start. It might be something from General Hux. that was the possibility that made your stomach roil. You felt then heard it churning and set a hand overtop it.
 TeeArr wrapped his metallic phalanges around the thermos and lifted it to inspect the container. “I do not believe it is poisoned.” That made you smile. You felt the tug at the corners of your lips. Tension eased from your shoulders, which sank a fraction from their previously rigid posture. TeeArr extended his arm towards you; it was the one that had been replaced after Kylo Ren had severed the old one. You stared at the shiny metal limb while using both of your hands to cup the sides of the thermos and bring it down onto the desk directly in front of you. “You should drink it.”
 The frustration that you had felt with the droid for reminding you of the situation you were in with Kylo Ren and General Hux dissipated. You felt it slowly melt away, flowing off of you and disappearing until you were left with the sense of peace that only solitude and your beloved droid could provide. You were grateful that it was the latter. With the anger gone, you recognized that you did not want to be alone. The fact that you had misread so much human behavior exhibited by General Hux and Kylo Ren had left you feeling less human. You could understand your droid better than you could them. Your droid. Your child that you had built. You extended one hand in offering. TeeArr studied your palm, lifted his servos, and poked the center of your hand with one of its digits.
 He had not taken your hand as you had intended, but somehow that was better. That he could misunderstand human behavior just as much as you did made you know that you were not some anomaly. It was inexperience.
 You withdrew your hand simultaneous to lifting up the thermos of tarine tea to your mouth and taking a sip. It was not too hot and did not burn your tongue. Its bitterness hit hard, which helped you to wake up more. TeeArr slid one of the datapads closer to you when you moved to reach for it. This particular device held many of the requisites that Captain Phasma had outlined since she had last spoken to you. She did not want the droid to have a self-destruct feature because that risked a malfunction or the droid erroneously calculating that self-destructing would be beneficial. Another sip of tea and you were scrolling through her other notes. They were brief, exact. Much like how she talked to others, which was not often from what you had observed.
 The door to the room slid open. You were tilting back the thermos and allowing more of the liquid to slide smoothly into your mouth. Jerking your hand away, you instead splashed the tarine tea onto the front of your shirt. “Sir!” You scowled when you looked down at the wetness.
 General Hux strode over to the desk. He picked up one of the comm units then held his hand out for the thermos. You felt yourself blushing as you relinquished your hold on his drink. His eyes were locked with yours. General Hux set the rim of the thermos at his mouth without blocking his lips. You watched his tongue skim the surface that your mouth had been on when you had drank. The heat in your face grew, as did the pounding of your heart. That tongue traced his lips next. And then it was gone, back in his mouth, which you could not stop staring at.
 “Good day,” he said before uttering your name and leaving. You did not even have the chance to respond. That likely saved you from stuttering and further embarrassment.
 After the door slid closed behind the redhead, TeeArr looked directly at you. “What he did with his tongue, I saw in one of the holovids that--”
 You held up a hand. “Stop!” Kriff, you had thought it would be impossible to feel so hot, to feel like you were on fire. The thought of what else that tongue could do had already existed. TeeArr’s words only made it worse. You pressed your thighs together. Bounced both of your feet then regretted it, the friction of your thighs rubbing together sending a jolt of pleasure through your body. Straight to your cunt, which clenched. “You are not allowed to hand me a thermos ever again.”
 “Is that an order?”
 “Yes!” The pleasant mood that you had been in was wrecked once more. Except that you were not angry. You were aroused. You were frustrated. You were thinking of both General Hux and Kylo Ren in ways that you should not have been, in ways that they had thought of you.

 Getting an influx of new students next semester. There’s no way AR-T13 will have time to make new suits of armor for them before they need it for Captain Phasma’s combat courses. I was asked if I had any ideas for temporary protection until the armor could be made. I suggested making each cadet a vest comprised of Cookie’s famous biscuits.
While AR-T13 agreed that the biscuits are tough enough to absorb damage while deflecting most low-level blaster fire, we don’t want to draw ants.
So then I suggested that maybe I could repurpose the shield generators from some old droidekas into a sort of portable deflector shield that can be worn as a pendant or belt buckle or whatever. Then they wouldn’t need armor at all.
AR-T13 was silent for a moment. Then, “Wait, we can do that? Why aren’t we already doing that?”
I dunno. Nobody ever asked.

We Always Love the Things We Cannot Have - Part 1/3
Armitage Hux/Reader, on AO3, check my masterlist for more!
Armitage Hux, General of the First Order, Destroyer of Worlds, regretted few things in life… but this? He regretted this very much. He had not meant to fall for his strange savior, a woman who claimed to be nobody, who disappeared with just as much ease as she appeared. They were bound to meet again... after all, the galaxy works in mysterious ways.
Warnings: nearly smut but nope. a little fluff. 1891 words. Lemme know what you think!!
Armitage Hux, General of the First Order, Destroyer of Worlds, regretted few things in life… but this? He regretted this very much.
           He’d landed on a planet for a very routine inspection of an emerging First Order outpost, only to find it completely and totally destroyed. And then, his ship and everyone on it – bar him, of course – was also completely and totally destroyed in a matter of minutes. Somehow, in all the fray of battle, a woman had appeared from nowhere and dragged him to safety. He was grateful, sure, but he had no idea who she was, who she stood with, if she was even aware of who he was.
           When they made it clear of the battle, she dragged him into a cave network, guiding him through twist and turn after twist and turn, and he found himself quickly losing any sense of direction that his military-man instincts might have once possessed on this star-forsaken planet. When he finally managed to get a grasp upon his bearings though, he made a sincere effort to establish dominance. He failed.
           “Do you even know who I am?!”
           She spun to face him. “Of course I do. You’re General Armitage Hux of the First Order.”
           He gaped.
           She grabbed his gloved hand once more and continued her dragging, this time speaking over her shoulder.
           “I knew the Resistance would try and get rid of you while you were vulnerable, so I figured I’d step in and save you first. I grabbed a beacon on the way to get you, so I should be able to contact the First Order and get you out of here soon,” she paused, pulling them through a blast door into a room that looked more… homely? “There’s an extra room through there—” she gestured wildly in another direction, “—so you can be comfortable while you’re here, if it takes that long.”
           She let go of his hand with a start, as if she’d just noticed she’d been holding it at all. He found himself missing its warmth for some odd reason.
           Hux nodded slow, taking in the room around him. It was clean, for a place in a cave network, and it possessed an entire bank of tech on one wall that beeped and notified with a calming regularity.
           He turned back to his savior. “Who are you?”
           She shuffled, unwrapping the covering on her face, revealing beautiful features marred only by a shimmery scar that danced from the corner of her eyebrow, down her cheek, to the edge of her chin. “I’m nobody, really.”
           “You couldn’t possibly be nobody. Such a concept does not exist. Everybody is somebody. Even my petty stormtroopers are somebody – expendable, but somebody.”
           She shrugged. “I’ve been nobody for a very long time, General. No point in making such an argument now.”
           Hux’s lips twisted. “What is your name, then, nobody?”
           “I don’t have a name.”
           Hux was overwhelmed with the urge to strangle her out of frustration. How could someone so resourceful, so courageous, so astronomically stunning be so determined to be nothing at all? “Then I shall give you a name.”
           She looked up at him, something akin to hope – gah! – swirling in her galactic irises.
           Hux made a suggestion, and she nodded jerkily in assent. He could live with such a name for this temporary companion of his. With the end of the conversation, though, came the end of her presence in the room. She rushed off, muttering something about “setting up the beacon” and “I’ll only be a minute, make yourself comfortable.” Hux stood in the center of the room, feeling vaguely abandoned, before he plopped himself down on the couch against the wall with a dignified huff.
           She hadn’t been lying when she said she’d only be a minute, because she returned with a small smile quite soon after her departure. She bustled about the room, making some sort of perfume-y tea that, quite frankly, swallowed Hux’s senses whole into faint memories of his mother.
           “Would you mind if I, uh, sat next to you?”
           Hux was shaken from his stupor by her question, “No, no, I don’t mind at all.”
           She nodded, gently folding herself onto the couch, a respectable distance from him. She pressed a mug of tea towards him with an inquisitive eyebrow, and he took it with a short nod.
           She hummed, blowing air across her tea. “So, what’s it like?”
           “What’s what like?”
           “Oh, well, you know—” she flapped her free arm about in a swirling motion for a moment, “—galactic domination, and all that.”
           Hux sat up at that, turning to face her more. “I wouldn’t quite call it galactic domination yet, but… it is my job, so I suppose I like it.”
           “Oh, c’mon. Surely you feel more than just like about your position… you seem like the ambitious type.”
           Hux wanted to be indignant that she’d pegged him perfectly on the first try, but he just couldn’t find it in himself to be mad at such a soul – a fact that was quickly bringing him some manner of irritation.
           He inhaled sharply. “I am… proud of my position. How’s that?”
           She smiled with all the brightness of a thousand stars. “Much better, General.”
           “Armitage.”
           “What?”
           “You can call me Armitage. For the duration of my stay.”
           She nodded in quiet understanding. “Okay, Armitage.”
           Hux desperately wanted to implore that the galaxy tell him why exactly he liked the way she said his name so much, why he was overcome with the desire to bring her back to the First Order with him, to take her away from this silly little cave. But alas, such a thing could not be done, so instead he shifted just a smidge closer to her, and she didn’t seem to mind.
           “So… what do you do every day?”
           “Pardon?”
           “What’s your routine like? You know, your workday?”
           Hux simultaneously wished he was and was not here. “It… is a normal workday. I am a military man; I command the military.” He didn’t want to go into specifics, for fear of who she might be connected to. For all he knew, she could be a spy, playing the part of kind nobody.
           She giggled. “Surely you can tell me more than that.”
           He shook his head. “I’m afraid that I cannot.”
           “Would you be more inclined to share if I told you who I was?”
           “Perhaps.”
           She shrugged. “Okay…well, I’ll share anyways,” she shifted in her seat, pushing the cushions down and unintentionally drawing the pair closer together, “I was born on Chandrila, a bit after the Galactic Concordance was signed. My mother was a Senator, and she wanted me to follow in her footsteps… but I just couldn’t, you know?” He did not know. “So, I left. As soon as I could… it was a little rough and tumble for a while,” she shuffled again, “I got into spicerunning and smuggling and all that, and then I got dumped here one day… and I just stayed. A few years alone and the world just seems to get small, I guess.”
           Hux nodded, distracted. By now, there was only a pinch of space between them, and he found that the perfume she wore was equally as intoxicating as the tea she had made. He turned to face her, ever the stiff and uncomfortable military man.
           “I’m sorry to hear it.”
           She nodded. “Me too.” Slowly, she leaned forward and placed her empty mug on the bin in front of the couch, and then offered to take his as well, which he happily handed over. When she resituated herself beside him, they were practically shoulder to shoulder. Then, she leaned in close to his face, and rational thought began to escape his person.
           “I’m not Resistance… if that’s your hesitation, Armitage.”
           Hux desperately wished for a way to fall through the floor and escape her clutches – she was a temptress! She was so close, so, so close, and he wanted her to be closer… but he knew he shouldn’t. Armitage Hux, esteemed General of the First Order, shouldn’t. And yet, her lips were now millimeters from his, she was breathing his air, the aura of her was wrapped all around him…
           How she had incapacitated him with such ease confused the General, but he found that as her lips touched his, he couldn’t quite find it in himself to care. She pressed forward, her lips parting, inviting him deeper into her soul, and Armitage Hux found himself giving in, pushing closer, wrapping her up in his arms, parting his lips. Her hand wandered to his shoulder, pushing off the jacket that hung there loosely and letting it drop to the couch, pushing him into the couch, crawling atop him. His heart was beating faster, and his breathing got heavier—
           And then the beacon alarm went off, and she jumped off of him, off of the couch, and stuttered a quick apology, running to her wall of tech and muttering things under her breath as she made sure the First Order honed in on their location successfully.
           She turned back to him, face flush, lips swollen. “They should be here any minute now,” she approached cautiously, collecting the abandoned mugs and walking them over to the sink in the corner of the room, “You should probably, uh, make yourself more… presentable?”
           He nodded, sitting back up all the way. He stood up, grabbing his discarded coat and snapping in the air before swinging back to its rightful place on his shoulders. She walked over to him, her hand tentatively reaching up and fixing a few stray hairs on his head, returning his hair to that of a stiff general. Quietly, he reached up and grabbed one of her hands, bringing his lips to the top of it in a quick, polite kiss.
           “Thank you… for saving me.”
           She nodded, the tips of her ears flushing red. “You’re welcome, Armitage.” Gently, she extricated her hand from his grip and beckoned for him to follow her out of the room, and then out of the cave.
           When they reached the mouth of the cave, the First Order was already there, Captain Phasma leading a platoon towards the cave. The General’s savior gently nodded her head in a polite good-bye before she disappeared back into the unfamiliar depths of the cave, and Hux found himself sorely missing her presence already. He let out a stiff greeting to Captain Phasma, who merely nodded towards the ship ahead of them with a modulated “Shall we?” And that was the end of that. The General hoped that one day, he would see that brilliant woman once more – in a moment when what he did would not get between them.
           When he spoke with Snoke upon his arrival to the Finalizer, Snoke merely commended the woman, making an offhanded comment that, should he ever encounter her again, she would be a lovely addition to the First Order – that at the very least she deserved their praise. The General agreed, but some part of him never wanted her to set foot on one of his ships, never wanted her to see what he did so up close and personal. Some part of him regretted ever letting her in so quick.

“What happened to you?” Kylo chuckled when he came around the corner to find his beautiful girlfriend covered from head to toe in paint streaks.
“I started your banner!” taking the cool bottle of lemonade from him, Y/N quickly took a few sips before brushing over her forehead to look at her work.
Following her gaze Kylos mouth fell open. With a chuckle she carefully pushed his chin up.
“Holy shit! That's me?” he asked astound and stepped closer to look at his own face on the gigantic Banner.
“Well yeah, who else. But it's still not finished so don't expect too much!” she mumbled a bit worried that she wouldn't be able to satisfy everyone's expectations.
“Oh don't make that pouty face, Moonshine. I look fucking badass.” grinning at the banner he already saw the wolf sketch that would be behind his shoulder.
“This will be awesome, you should really stop underestimating yourself so much.” he mumbled and pulled her closer, to press a kiss on her soft lips.
“I know … but that's how the progress works.” stretching herself, Y/N yawned.
“How about we take a little break?” Kylo already grabbed her by her hip and sat her down on the hood of his car.
“Yeah… the paint needs to dry anyway.” leaning back she already enjoyed the nice sunshine and closed her eyes before Kylo joined her.
“Ah wait, careful...” quickly shielding her ear with one hand, she grabbed the tiny white snake that had been sleeping in her hair again.
“Well … Hello Koh, what are you doing here… again?!” Kylo growled with a sweet tone to the snake who just looked away and curled around Y/Ns fingers.
“Phasma is training for her show and he is still too young so I babysit him.” with a smile Y/N started to pat it's tiny head and the little snake closed its eyes in relaxation.
“Well if you want a baby to take care of, I have an idea...” Kylo growled seductively in her ear and she started to chuckle.
“Mhmm I think I should listen to Poes tip and tie you up at night from now on.” with a teasing grin she pressed a kiss on the tip of his nose.
“I`m not in my rut!” he huffed offended and she just giggled even more.
“You are so sweet when you try to hide the truth.” ruffling through his hair, Kylo quickly pulled his head away, not wanting to give her the satisfaction.
“Oh come on. I`m just teasing, Darling.” Y/N took the last sips of her drink before looking surprised at the little snake in her other hand.
“Did you hear that?” looking over to Kylo he only shrugged his shoulders.
“What should i have heard?” gently laying his hand against her cheek, she lightly shook her head.
“Maybe I just have been to long in the sun.” watching the little snake for another moment, she placed him back around her left ear before sliding off the car.
“I get you some water, then… Don't overdo it please.”
“Don`t worry about me, you have your training soon!” she reminded him and he looked shocked down at his watch.
Running into the tent, he quickly grabbed a glass of water and brought it to her before pressing a strong kiss on her cheek.
“I`ll see you later! Love you! God dammit!”
Watching him run towards the big tent she could only try to hide her laughter.
“Yes you`re right. He is a bit clumsy sometimes.” Y/N answered the little snakes hiss and started to mix her paints to continue Kylos banner.
A few hours later, Y/N had made a lot of progress and the little snake slowly poked his head out between her hair.
“You want to take a break?” she asked it and Koh hissed delighted. For now the Banner needed to dry anyway and tomorrow she would be finally finished with the first one. It was only missing Kylos stage name now. Cleaning her brushes and the glasses she had used, she stepped inside the cool tent. She had already noticed that whatever kind of weather was outside, the tents were always at a comfortable temperature.
“Want to help me choose the colours for your Mamas Banner?” she asked the little snake while placing it next to her sketchbook on the wooden work desk.
Letting out a small hiss, Y/N nodded with a smile.
“I'll get you some water then.”  getting a tiny bowl she filled it with water and placed it next to the small snake and watched him drink for a moment, before she pulled her aquarelle colours out of a drawer.
“So what do you think? I put you big in front like you wished for. Phasma right after you with all your other siblings.” Y/N stretched her hand out to the white snake who quickly slithered on it and looked down at the finished lineart she had made.
“Pretty!” the snake hissed and pressed his scaled snout against Y/Ns cheeks just like a small kiss. Giggling to herself, she watched Koh for another moment. So it was him she had heard earlier, first it was a little shock but now that she had time to think about it, it made sense. Since she was here she had noticed more and more magical things inside the circus, little things like the changing appearance of her co-workers, who looked more and more like their original forms. A man with horns, a woman with flowing hair as if she was constantly underwater or the wondrous animals she just had laid eyes on so far. So, that she was able to understand Koh it must have been a part of being here and especially being accepted by everyone, even though she was just a mere human, at least that was her conclusion to all of this.
“So since you're white, how should i paint you ...” Y/N started to mumble to herself while taking a closer look at Koh who rolled himself together on her hand.
“Rainbow.” he hissed and she noticed the lightest bit of colourful shimmer on his small scales.
“Oh I see! I can definitely try something like this!” grabbing another piece of paper she prepared an example and showed it to Koh.
With a small hiss the Snake observed the paper before turning itself to it's own body.
“More shimmer, please?”
“No problem, sweety. Silver or Gold?” placing two containers next to the test drawing the small snake looked between them.
“Silver, please.” he nodded excited and watched closely while she placed a thin layer over the light rainbow part.
“How is that, my little friend?”
“Perfect! Thanks!” getting booped by his snout again, Y/N smiled. It was nice to have the little snake around while all of the others were so busy preparing their acts, since the first date of the show was announced for this weekend.
Working on the colouring for Phasmas Banner, Koh slowly made his way on her head to watch from above while he curled around a strand of hair.
-
“Can we visit Mama soon?” the small snake asked after a while with a yawn and Y/N carefully stretched herself after putting her brush down.
“Yeah, let's go… I'm creatively exhausted too.” cleaning up her desk, Y/N soon made her way towards the big tent, the sun slowly sinking in the background.
Koh climbed back down towards her ear where he had the best grip and felt the most comfortable.
“Y/N? I was just about to come over to you.” Phasma was approaching them and Koh quickly stuck his head out of Y/Ns hair.
“Mama!” he called with a wide open mouth which made Phasma smile with adoration.
“Are you done already? Koh wanted to watch you rehearse.” Y/N stated and helped Koh from her ear before holding him towards his mother.
Surprised, the tall woman let Koh climb from Y/Ns hand to her own, not taking her eyes off of the young woman in front of her.
“How did you know?”
“He told me.” tilting her head the slightest Y/N shrugged her shoulders as if it was the most normal thing.
“Is that so?” Phasma smiled, not trying to show how concerned she was.
“Yes. She understands me, Mama. It's very nice. We talked a lot today.” pushing his head against Phasmas cheek for a moment, Koh soon slithered up into her hair.
“Let's go together then. Everyone is still in the tent. How did your painting go?” she asked while they walked to the Main Entrance.
“Good! Just need to put Kylos Name on the Banner tomorrow and then I will be starting with yours. Koh helped me pick most colours.” she smiled and the small snake nodded delighted, Phasma could tell he was very proud about it.
For her little child it was of course exciting to be able to communicate with a normal human, but it made her more than worried.
Entering the main tent, Y/N could already see Kylo on the wooden stage in his big wolf form, before someone laid their arms around her waist, it was Rey.
Y/N could feel Rey slightly rub her head against hers and she started to laugh. Since she had spent a few hours with the female werewolf to sketch her, Y/N and Rey slowly became friends after getting over the first awkward hurdle.
“Get your goddamn awful smell off of her!” Kylo suddenly screamed and came running, before turning back into his human form and ripping Y/N basically away from the other before nuzzling his face like crazy against hers.
Starting to giggle, she quickly pressed a kiss on his lips and in an instant he seemed to calm down.
“Come on, at least let me borrow her from time to time.” Rey called teasingly while stalking around them.
“In your dreams, bitten!” growling he wrapped his arms tighter around Y/Ns waist.
“Don’t be so selfish, especially when she smells so sweet at the moment.” Rey sighed deeply as if she was talking about the most beautiful thing in the world.
“Now you've done it!” turning back the black much bigger wolf chased around a brown one which only snickered while running away.
“What is it with them today?” Y/N laughed while watching them before Finn landed right beside her, which made her look up in confusing wondering where he even came from.
“As far as we understand it...”
“More like just assuming...” Poe interrupted.
“We think Rey is teasing Kylo for his rut, since you are ready to have pups.”
“Oh okay… Wait… what?!” first she nodded understandingly before Y/Ns eyes widened in realization.
“Kylo explained to us once that werewolves fall into ruts when they smell that their female is most fertile to have the pups.”
“And he smells that?!” she shrieked while sniffing on her own arm, her cheeks getting redder by the second.
“Your blood does smell a little sweeter than normal, I guess.” Finn agreed nodding.
Shocked Y/N looked at Finn, before she pulled the jacket around her shoulders closer and quickly zipped it up.
“Pervert ...” Y/N crossed her arms in front of her chest.
“No! Please don’t misunderstand I'm not doing it on purpose!” Finn plead to her.
“Vampires and Werewolves just have a very sensitive nose for blood. Believe me!”
“How embarrassing ….” she mumbled and wrapped her arms around herself.
“Don't give it any mind. That's just how these things work i guess.” Phasma tried to calm her and patted her head.
Kylo had thrown Rey off the stage who landed in her normal form next to them.
“Fine big guy. I keep away from her for now until you calmed down.” the young woman bowed and winked to Y/N before leaving the tent.
The black wolf quickly came running again, his mouth curled up into a grin, very proud of himself to have defended his mate, before he turned back and embraced her.
Nuzzling his face against hers again, Kylo tried to get rid of every bit of smell that wasn't his.
When he looked down at her again and saw her flustered face, Kylo bit his lip, she was just too cute and goddamn tempting.
“Sorry for the chaos...” he apologized and she only nodded slightly while avoiding his gaze.
“Are you already done with training? Kou and I planned to watch.”
“Ah yeah sorry … maybe tomorrow. I'm pretty beat too...” leaning with his heavy weight down on her, Y/N started to struggle to keep him up.
“How about we just go home and cuddle… lots.” he suggested with a loud yawn.
“Actually Kylo, there is something I would like to talk with you beforehand. If that's okay with you...” Phasma suggested and looked down at Y/N.
“Oh sure. I will prepare a nice hot bath for you, my love.” standing on her tiptoes, Y/N pressed a gentle kiss on his lips before she wished everyone else a good night and left.
With a heavy sigh Kylo watched her leave before he gave Phasma and the little snake on her head his attention.
“What is it? You look pretty serious.” raising his eyebrows, she suddenly pointed up at the small snake that was just letting out a long yawn.
“Y/N can understand him! I don't know why or how, but she can completely understand him!”
“Are you really sure about that?”
“I didn't see it myself, but Koh and her both confirmed it.”
“Wait… holy shit does that mean she is one of us?” sitting down next to the werewolf, Poe crossed his legs.
“She can't be...” Kylo stated shocked before letting himself fall on a chair nearby.
“She doesn't smell like any of us. And if Y/N really can understand him shouldn't she at least have a similar fragrance like Phasma?” he asked Finn who only nodded in thought.
“Yeah, they have completely different scents.” the Vampire agreed.
“She doesn't have to be a Snake person to talk to him. I mean… Nature Spirits could too.”
“And it seems like Y/N just now started to understand him, right?” Poe added and Phasma looked to her small son who slowly nodded.
“He tried before but today was the day she seemed to really understand him.” she explained to the others.
“That is… unexpected.” brushing his hair back, Kylo took a deep breath.
“Well it doesn't really change anything seeing that she might not know herself.”
“Is it only Kou she can speak to?”
“I don't know… come to my tent tomorrow and we can find out. It just really surprised me...”
“Finn and I could do some research if you want too...” Poe suggested but Kylo seemed to barely listen anymore.
“Yeah, I will try to talk to her about it.” standing up he left the others behind without saying another word and made his way to the edge of the Circus where their tent was.
As soon as he saw her, Kylo grabbed her by her waist and picked her up before letting his lips clash against hers.
With a chuckle she wrapped her legs around his hip and quickly held onto his broad shoulders.
“Don't get ahead of yourself...” she warned with a smile when she felt his firm grip on her behind.
“But you are so goddamn tempting.” kissing along her neck, he could hear her heartbeat fasten before she quickly pushed his face away and laid her hands over his nose.
“How do I smell like to you?” she asked ashamed and for a moment he looked confused at her.
“Oh … the others told you, huh?” nodding the slightest, Y/N laid her head on his shoulder.
“Well to me ...” leaning down to her he let his nose run over the exposed skin on her neck.
“You smell like a warm summer night and since yesterday there is a hint of sweetness that just drives me crazy. Similar to the Cotton Candy that we ate the night we met.” Y/N screamed when Kylo suddenly let himself fall with her onto their bed.
“And it's not just that, if you should think that. You`re drop dead gorgeous and i still can't fucking believe that you are mine. Only mine.”
“Okay okay enough or my heart will explode!” chuckling shyly, Y/N was the one who nuzzled her head against him.
“Are you sure, because I have a lot more.” he smiled while smothering her face with kisses.
“Kylo?” hearing her serious tone he stopped and looked down on her.
“How is that when someone is expecting pups? What happens at full moon when the baby is still in the mother?”
“You were worrying about that?”
“Well when we have pups at some point ...better I will be prepared, right? Besides it seems to be the topic of the whole damn Camp...” she mumbled and her cheeks started to flush with a pink hue. They never had gone further than snogging and already talking about children seemed a little much, but also necessary and she was curious herself.
“Oh sweetheart… let me show you something.” pulling out his phone, he rolled right beside her and showed her a few pictures.
“I asked my mom to send them earlier this week.” he swiped through the pictures and watched intently when she started to giggle.
“Wait, is that really you with little wolf ears?”
“Yeah that's me when I`m two. Werewolves start transforming around their 3-5 year. It will be just like a completely normal pregnancy my mother told me.”
“So you were an early one, huh?” she grinned.
“I always was. When you hit puberty it's starts that the full moon takes over.” he explained while Y/N had taken the phone from him still staring interested at the pictures until she saw a small Kylo in a tub.
“Oh no! Your bath!” suddenly jumping from the bed she run to the back of the tent.
With a smile on his lips Kylo shook his head before his eyes fell back on a picture with his parents. A heavy sigh escaped his lips before he followed Y/N after a short while.
“Maybe you should join me… you are still covered in paint, my Moonshine.” laying his hand on her hip from behind, he looked over her shoulder while she added something into the hot water.
“I would just ruin the nice water and we two would both be stained. So you still have to go in alone, my love.” leaning against his chest, she felt him press a kiss against her head before he buried his face in her hair.
“Maybe next time then.” he said teasingly before turning her around, pulling Y/N into a soft kiss.
“I love you, Moonshine.”
“I love you too… my big bad wolf. Now get your butt in that tub!” she chuckled before giving him a light slap on his butt just like he would always do.
“Yes ma’am.” pressing a quick kiss against her temple, the werewolf let her leave and soon was laying in the tub, just letting the hot water soak in and his sore muscles relax.
Now waiting for Y/N to come out of the bath, Kylo was just rubbing his hair dry while trying to think of a way how to start up a conversation about the fact that she could speak with the little snake.
It was something that he just couldn't wrap his head around, for him her scent always had stuck out of the crowd of normal humans, but that she might be one of them was a light shock for him.
Of course it didn't change anything about his feelings for her, he was just worried under which circumstances she lived beforehand since she didn't seem to know herself.
Hearing her little footsteps come closer he looked up to find his girlfriend in her favourite pyjamas and dripping hair.
“You stole all the towels!” she pouted and he quickly took the towel he just used to throw it over her head to ruffled her hair dry.
Letting herself fall into his lap, she waited patiently with a smile.
Just these small moments were something that always made her day and it seemed like for Kylo it was the same, that he literally forgot to talk with her and soon the were cuddled up in their gigantic bed.

"Where did you get that?" Finn questioned.
"Does it matter? Really, we have to do something." Ben replied exasperated.
Finn and Poe exchanged looks, like silently deciding what to do.
"Do you think if we just crush that thing the signal will stop?" Poe said.
"Maybe... but it's still dangerous, we're too close to the base and by now they must have figured out where we're going." Ben grinded his teeth while thinking of ways to deceive whoever was following them.
"We can't change course, we're almost running out of gas" Poe said.
"Let's crush that thing and then get to the base, whatever happens we can solve it there" Finn said.
"No... change course Poe, if not you'll risk all the people at the base and the safety of the people on this ship" Ben said.
"The problem is the gasoline, Ben, we'll find a solution when we land" Poe tried reasoning and suddenly his eyes widened.
"They got us" he whispered.
"What do you mean?!" Finn hissed. The tracker on Ben's hand had beeped realy fast, to the point that it was more like a single extended beep and then... it stopped.
Without another word Ben crushed it in his hand, hating himself for not doing it before.
"Oh shit" Poe mumbled.
The radar showed a dot coming near, it flashed on and off, like it existed but at the same time it didn't.
"We gotta move Poe... let's-" Finn was buckling up and pressing some buttons when some of the lights went out and the ship started moving.
Ben hurried to wake Rey up and the rest of the adults.
"Rey... Rey, we got a problem" he gently shook her as he searched for his saber next to her things on the floor.
"What? Is-" she got up immediately when the ship abruptly moved.
"Leda, go back to the room" she instructed.
"There was a tracker, the girl brought it by accident and now... it's pretty obvious they have us" Ben quickly explained as they walked around waking everyone up.
"It's like that time with the Millenium Falcon" Rey mumbled.
It maybe wasn't the smartest move but Ben couldn't just stand there, he had to see who they were going up against.
An atmospheric assault lander had latched onto them and Ben knew that there were minutes before they got inside the ship.
"How long?" Rey asked.
"A few minutes, I don't think that it's full and I don't think they'll bring all their soldiers to kill us or whatever, so maybe we can take them here on the ship and then get away from them.
"Arer the weapons working?" Rey then shouted for Finn or Poe to hear her.
"They're malfunctioning and we still have to figure out what to do" Finn shouted back.
"They're coming. Half of us stays back and the other half hides near the entrance to respond when they come" Ben ordered.
"I'm not staying back" Rey said.
"I know" he said and turned his saber on.
Everyone was in place when they heard boots on the ceiling.
"How many people did you say a ship like that can handle?" Kaydel whispered to Ben.
"Too many" Ben whispered back.
Four soldiers got in which were quickly taken out by Rey and Ben.
"We need to get there too" Poe said trying to see if more were trying to get in.
But Rey was already a step ahead and she had climbed out of the ship, mixing with the shadows to infiltrate the other ship.
Ben was taking care of the other troopers, their prisoners, so they wouldn't amke a sound.
The radio of one of the dead troopers made a sound.
"GR-4439, is the girl there? Why are you not reporting anything?" Kaydel took the radio and looked at everyone, questioning what they should do.
"Let them talk" Ben said.
"Come back quick, there's someone here" The voice from the radio said.
Someone?
Then they noticed Rey's absence.
"I'm going" Ben proclaimed already walking out.
Rey was looking around, this was certainly a big ship but it was almost empty. There were faint sounds of people talking and walking around, but nothing serious.
"Rey!" Ben hushed taking her by the arm and covering her mouth so she wouldn't scream.
"We can take them out, hey must be twenty or something like that, this place is almost empty Ben."
"You tell me I have death wish, but they're after your head and willingly climb into their ship!" he reprimanded her.
"It's okay. Have any of them climbed into the ship?"
"I heard on their radio that they knew you were here"
"Of course they know, they must've told them"
"Here, like in THIS ship in THIS moment. Come on, lets go or at least-"
"Hands up" a circle of troopers were pointing at them, Ben turned around with his hands up and Rey did the same.
"Sorry?" Rey mumbled to him.
"Move!" They instructed them.
They followed them all the way to the center of the room, where more troopers were all either in plain sight or leaning against the walls, all exept but one in the center. Their leader.
"Master Ren, we're honored to have you here" He said. Ben was getting tired of this people repeating themselves.
"Leave our master alone and bing me the girl!"
"You'll leave her alone." Ben said standing in front of Rey.
"Master... but, we... you need to get rid of her." Without noticing Rey's fingers had started to tingle and flash with small lightnings, she wanted to end them all.
Ben noticed that only the five troopers guarding them had their weapons in hand and looked at Rey, she nodded, understanding.
They pushed them against the wall and gathered all their force to pin the rest to the wall.
"Kylo Ren is death! the First Order is death! and the girl is not to be touched!" Ben called out.
"You can either choose to live as regular people or go to prison!" Rey shouted then.
"Someone shoot that girl! she's ruining-" Ben brought the troopers close and chocked him to death.
"You have no leader, and you can't defeat us. Choose.!" Ben repeated.
Almost all of them lifted their hands and sat on the floor.
"We're taking you and then we'll explain to you how you can join the society"
After tying them up and deciding that Ben and Rey would fly this ship to the base they were gone.
Once bac at the base everyone came to welcome them, the kids were checked by the doctors and the troopers were moved somewhere else.
"Go ahead, I have to do something" Ben said to Rey before dissapearing.
Rey was busy helping everyone, answering questions and looking over the children to noticed how long Ben had been away.
"Rey, everyone's settled in, you have to eat something" Poe said chasing her.
"It's fine, it's fine." Poe knew that she was refusing to eat becasue she thought that there wasn't enough for everyone.
"They went for provisions this morning, I assure you that there's more than enough for everyone" he repeated pushing the tray of food towards her.
"Okay" she sighed.
They got here almost at night and after eating everyone went out to do whatever, most of them, sleep.
They placed the kids in rooms and the troopers that could fit, in others, setting a camp outside for the ones who couldn't.
Rey suddenly remembered that Ben never went for dinner so she got him a steak and some vegetables to his room.
"Hey" she mumbled opening his door room a little.
"Hi" he said lifting his eyes from his desk for a second.
She got in and placed the plate in the far corner of the desk.
"You missed dinner..."
"I realized something" he said still analyzing a... map?
"You drew this? How can you remember what the whole galaxy is like?" she said rubbinghis back and standing next to him.
He shrugged.
"I should've done this since the moment I got here..." Rey waited for him to keep talking.
"This, are the bases where troopers are trained in."
"Well you told us where all the bases were before" Rey said.
"I told you where the First Order was, and we go to where the kings and queens call to us because there are camps... but this. I forgot about them. They're in training so we don't really care about them until they're ready to be located or used, and that was my mistake."
"What do you mean?"
"What do all the troopers we've encountered have in common? Even the kids" Rey meditated about it.
"They're... young?"
"They are all from this camps Rey... Phasma, she left orders for the young ones, and that's why they've been so bad at it. Why they have no plan, at least not a certain one."
"Are you sure?"
"90% sure. I don't think any of them ever completed their training, but that's also what makes them dangerous."
"Dangerous? Shouldn't this be an advantage?"
"Think about this, they are trained to follow orders, not come up with them. Now imagine that they are kids, with few to no experience and they're left with this huge responsability of finding their Supreme Leader and get him back... they have no idea what they're doing"
"Then maybe we could talk to them, they don't even have to be judge. If they didn't end their training or whatever, they haven't really done anything wrong don't you agree?" Rey said suddenly hopeful.
"It really depends if they have set their minds in going against you or if they're willing to listen" He crossed his arms and sighed.
"Eat something, your head must hurt. And what you've discovered is really helpful" she pushed him down to sit and placed the plate in his hands.
"Everyone got to eat this?" he asked raising his brow. It was not that common for them to get such... quality foods, and to give such big portions to everyone... even less.
"Yes, apparently they went for provisions today"
"Hmm" he nodded taking a bite.
As he ate Rey marveled at his work. The lines of his drawing were sharp, sure, and she noticed the notes that he had scribled here and there on the paper. Certainly Ben had been trained not only to fight, but to understand, compile and track.
"What was that?" They both asked when the floor shook under their feet.
Ben left his plate over the table and took Rey's hand, they got out of the room to see if anyone else had noticed.
"Oh no" a boy murmured also getting out of his room.
Slowly more people came put and walked outside, the floor shook once more.
"What the-" in the distance they saw a quick flash and the silouette of something falling to the ground, only to impact on the earth and create a small explosion, making the floor to move.
"I told you... they're dangerous because they're stupid" Ben whispered to Rey.
"You think it's them?"
"Probably one of this troopers had a tracker too or send out a signal and they found us" Ben said.
"Poe! we have to get to them, are the TIE fighters working?!" he shouted.
"Yeah!"
It was hard to tell how many ships were dropping the bombs, but Rey was almost sure they were four. The sky was almost black now exept for the ocassional bombs.
"Finn, stay here and tell everyone to gather their things and reunite in the ships!" Rey urged him.
Poe, Ben and her would try to take down the ships and lead them far from the base.
As they took them down they noticed that there were more than they thought.
"Poe! there are two above you!" Rey heard Ben's voice on the radio.
She made a quick turn making the ship following her to crash with some rocks and explode.
"Guys..." she lifted her eyes, there were still five or six ships bombing the place and some had already fallen on the base.
"Do you see what I'm seeing?" Poe told them.
"Right" they had problems looking at wha was bellow them so they threw the bombs wherever.
"I'll get the ones on the right" Rey said.
She got the attention of one of the ships and shot it, just so it would follow her, it was dangeroous but they could do it if they had perfect timing.
She flew under another ship, counting and celebrated when they dropped a bomb just when the other ship was passing by.
Ben and Poe were doing the same thing and soon they were done.
Poe got done to run tot he base and help everyone out, there was a small fire.
"Ben, I'm helping Poe"
"Okay" before she landed she caught another flash falling to the ground. No.
"I'll get it" Ben said. She saw his TIE fly by and fast towards this ship.
"Ben... ben wait a second! Its not one and it's not like the others!" but Ben didn't answer and was still going towards them.
She followed them and saw Ben fire at the ships, managing to shot one to the ground, but they weren't stopping. She had to remember that Ben was an extraordinary pilot and trust him.
She stayed there, flying and firing but unsure on what else she should do, when Ben exploded another ship and suddenly his TIE exploded followed by the last ship her heart thightened.
"No!" she rushed.
He couldn't be dead... she would've felt something wouldn't she?
She landed and ran towards the burning remains of the ship, shouting Ben's name.
"Ben!" she was getting desperate when she heard her name.
"Rey!" he was walking, trying to avoid the fire. She ran to him and they met halfway.
She hugged him with as much force as she could and hid her face on his neck.
"What the hell happened?!" She half yelled still holding him close.
"I... I had to get to their ship" Rey didn't understand so she looked at him puzzled, he didn't know how to explained so they stayed there looking at each other until they broke out laughing.
Rey felt a tear roll down her face, confused.
"What is it?" He asked wiping it .
"You just scared me" she pushed him away playfully warning him to never do that again.
They walked hand in hand back to the base.
"We're loading everything on the ships" someone told them walking by.
"Are we leaving?" Rey asked even though she knew the answer.
"This is no longer a safe place" Finn lamented.
"How's everyone?"
"Everyone who was inside is fine, but the troopers campinh outside... they didn't make it. And we have two ships less too"
"Two?"
"The one our boy Ben exploded and another that was damaged by the explosion" Finn explained.
"Well... I think we still fit well in the ones we still have" Rey said looking around her.
"Just get your things, we have to leave soon" Finn gave them a sad smile and walked away to help.
"Explotions. Miss Rey, be careful!" D-0 said again and again to Rey when she walked into her room.
"It's okay, but we need to leave"
"Leave to where?" The droid questioned, following her around the room as she picked up her things.
"I honestly don't know, but is no longer safe here" she admited.
All her things could fit inside a black sack, similar to the ones she used to carry things around in jakku.
The droid followed her out.
Ben stuffed his saber, some clothes and the maps into a bag and looked around the room.
It was weird to think that he was never coming back to that place and specially that bed...
Whatever. He could adapt.
Outside everyone was getting inside the ships.
"You two fit into the Millenium Falcon with us" Poe said calling for Ben and Rey.
Chewie was annoyed by this desition, not that he minded Rey but he wasn't excited at all to be confined to that space with Ben.
"Okay..."
The base was now something in their past, something minuscular on a planet that now looked tiny too as they flew away through the galaxy.
"Poe... now what are we going to do?" Rey nervously aaked rubbing her hands.
"I don't have an exact place in mind... but we'll find another base" his eyes were also trained on the planet which had given them cover for the past year.
A new beggining awaited for them... and they felt like they've had enough of them already.

A Rose By Any Other Name

Facing the small interior of Maz’s Castle from the backmost booth, Ben Solo contemplated his roommate’s blank expression. Hux was being uncharacteristically patient as he waited for their pitcher to be refilled by the busy bartender. Normally, the man would have started complaining about the lack of speedy service within thirty seconds of reaching the counter, but Hux seemed distracted by something tonight.
“What’s up with Hux, you reckon?” Ben said aloud.
“Huh?” Rey Niima looked up from the massive plate of nachos they were sharing.
“Hux,” he said again, nodding toward the bar. “He’s been standing there for five minutes while Phasma serves everyone but him.”
“Did they have a fight?” Rey queried, licking sour cream off her fingers.
“I don’t think so,” Ben replied, absently passing her a couple napkins. “But who knows, they’ve got a complicated relationship.”
“Are they… you-know-whating?”
Ben snorted and looked down at his girlfriend of three months. Despite all the ways they’d had each other, she was still shy about sexual topics in public. “You-know-whating?”
“Shut up,” she muttered. “Well, are they?”
“No, I don’t think Phasma swings that way,” he said simply.
“So, what would they fight about then?”
“No idea, but...” he paused as Rey’s best friend Rose walked into the bar, drawing Hux’s gaze like a magnet. He stood up straight as she waved and walked toward him, fumbling with the empty pitcher in his grasp until Phasma snatched it away from him. “No way,” Ben mumbled, starting to put the pieces together. “No freakin way!”
“What!” Rey jumped, startled by his exclamation.
“Hux and Rose!” he said, glad the music was loud enough to cover his excitement.
“What?” Rey’s hazel eyes flashed toward the front of the room. “No freakin way,” she seconded, shaking her head. “No way is Hux interested in Rose.”
“Why not? Come on,” he laughed, “just look at him!”
“And what am I supposed to be seeing?”
“Well, he looks… you know… lovesick or whatever.”
“Lovesick or whatever?” Rey raised a brow.
“Yeah, you know what I mean.” Now that all the pieces were before him, Ben recognized his roommate's wistful expression for what it was: infatuation. Hell, maybe even love. He knew because it was the same expression that had adorned his face every day since Rey had agreed to be his girlfriend.
“Hmm… remind you of anyone?” Rey poked him through a small hole in the side of his shirt.
He sent her a sappy smile in return. “Yeah.” Then, smirking, “You.”
“Ben Solo!” she gasped in mock outrage, thumping his hard bicep.
“I’m kidding!” he chuckled, pulling her close. Ben nuzzled into her neck, pressing quick kisses against her skin until she giggled. “You know I’m crazy about you.”
“Oh, I know,” she said smugly, kissing his cheek in return. “So, what are we gonna do about him?”
“Who?” he teased.
Rey stuck her tongue out at him. “Hux, duh! We kinda owe him, you know.”
“I know,” he replied, mulling it over. “Maybe we could trick him the same way he tricked me?”
“You mean get him to spill his guts while the love of his life is sitting quietly behind him?” she said pertly.
Ben pinched her curvy backside.
“Hey!” she yelped. “Not here!”
“Later, then?” he inquired, only half-joking.
She gave him a heated look. “Yes, now let’s concentrate on your friend.”
Satisfied, Ben switched his attention back to the bar. “Right, well—fuck!”
Rey jumped again. “What the hell, Ben?”
“Look!” he said, gesturing wildly.
“Stop that,” she gasped, yanking his hands down. “They’ll notice us staring!”
“Not likely with the way Hux is jamming his tongue down Rose’s throat!” Ben said, half in disgust, half in admiration.
Rey let out a squeak of surprise as Rose tugged her ginger beau closer by sliding her capable hands into his back pockets. “Oh my god,” she whispered, scandalized. “I never realized Rose was so forward!”
“I’ll say,” he whistled when sweet, innocent Rose Tico squeezed Hux’s backside. “Much more of this and Maz will kick them out of here for indecent behavior.”
“Wait, it’s okay, they’re stopping.”
Ben let out a sigh of relief that quickly became strangled. “Oh god, they’re coming over here. Quick, act natural!”
“Okay!” Rey began shoveling nachos into her mouth at an alarming rate.
“That’s not—sweetheart, please don’t choke yourself—”
“Isn’t that your job, Solo?” Hux joked as he and Rose drew level with their table.
“Shut up!” Ben blushed, hating how much his frienemy knew about his love life.
“Now, now, boys, let’s not fight,” Rose laughed, but Ben could hear the underlying warning in her tone. “We have something to tell you!”
“You’re fucking?” Ben said without meaning to. “I mean—”
“Ben Solo!” three sets of voices yelled at him.
He held up his hands in surrender. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to say that!”
“At any rate,” Rose glared at him before slipping back into her usual cheerful self, “Armitage and I have decided to start dating.” She looked at Ben again. “Isn’t that great?” she said narrowly.
“Wonderful,” he agreed at once, shrinking back against the booth. “Congratulations!”
“Thank you,” Rose sniffed. “Well, have a good night then.”
“You’re leaving?” Rey asked. “But you just got here!”
“Yeah,” Hux smirked, slipping an arm around Rose’s waist. “So, don’t wait up.”
“Bye, Rey! Bye, Ben!” Rose waved as Hux pulled her away.
“So,” Ben said once they were out of earshot, “they’re definitely going back to my place to—”
“Fuck?” Rey finished. “Oh, for sure.”
“Then… your place will be empty for the night, right?” he said slowly.
“Yeah, I guess. Why—oh! Ohhhh!” Rey pushed Ben out of the booth so hard he almost fell to the ground. “Sorry, baby!” she cried, setting him right before slapping a twenty on the table. “Let’s go,” she said, holding out a hand.
Ben took it gladly. “As you wish,” he grinned.
——————
“Like this?”
“A little harder.”
“Feel good?”
“Yesss!”
“Don’t tell Rose about this, okay?”
“Why—not?”
“Because she’ll tell Hux and he’ll never let me live it down that we tried choking because of him.”
“You—really—owe—Hux—a—lot.”
“...I know.”

A/N: Will Ben ever pay Hux back for setting him up with Rey?? Maybe in some future drabble, though Hux did already nab himself an awesome girlfriend :P I'm working on a new long fic that one of my previous drabbles is actually a sneaky epilogue for :D It's been on the shelf for a bit, but I'm making a lot of progress.

July 10, 9:00 AM
Galen Erso walked through the sliding doors at the foot of a monolithic glass tower overlooking San Francisco Bay. The gate emitted a welcome beep as he pressed his badge to the reader, and walked towards the elevators, his cup of coffee in hand. His face was pallid, unfortunately accentuating his bloodshot eyes and dark circles. The elevator emptied floor after floor and he was alone in the cabin as the counter hit fifteen. The doors were creeping to a close, when suddenly a silk-gloved hand interrupted their progress.
Galen nearly spat out his coffee at the sight of Armitage Hux, dressed in an immaculate black suit with his hair slicked back into a neat red swoop.
“Hello, Galen Erso” he said politely as he walked in, trying to sound natural as he eyed the other man’s badge.
******
Hux turned his head a fraction to glance at the truly unkempt employee in the elevator. His upper lip twisted in a grimace of disgust. Whoever Galen Erso was, he did not deign to answer his greeting.
The shabby stranger went all the way up to the twenty-seventh floor, home of the engineering and IT departments. Hux’s brain was still processing when he left; he was vaguely sure he had passed this idiot in the hall before. Additionally, if he managed to remember the name of his supervisor, he would be able to send a warning for egregious violation of dress code.
In the meantime, he had other concerns.
Phasma had not shown up to his office at eight o'clock, despite her usually exemplary punctuality. It was abnormal, something must have happened. Even more alarming, her phone went directly to voicemail every time.
But it had been an hour—barely an hour—since he last heard from her, and it could easily be nothing.
Syed Ren wasn’t responding either, and had been MIA for a few days; Hux knew with near certainty that she must have been silenced by the other Knights of Ren. Skylar Ren was no longer of any use to him at all. The bastard was currently strapped to a chair in the basement, where he kept repeating that he had never sent the message to Valorum, that he was framed. In absolute terms, it was a credible story. But whether he had sent the message himself or not, he was already guilty of recording such a video and keeping it.
And where the hell was Kylo Ren? The Director of Operations was apparently no longer operating. They’d lost track of him in Nevada. All the roads led to Wells, an insignificant desert outcrop which was now the final scene of a disappearing act. It was there that Kelsi Ren's empty Lincoln had been found, and where Syed’s SUV had vanished. It was also where agents last sighted Earth Soldiers debutante Rey Jakku. Some witnesses even report that they saw Kylo Ren himself there, or at least someone who looked like him. Given that Kylo was still rockstar royalty in the eyes of most people, Hux was inclined to believe that the risk of misidentification was low.
On precisely July 8th, everyone in that godforsaken desert had disappeared without a trace.
At first, Hux was incredulous enough to wonder if an alien abduction had occurred. A flying saucer, a ray of light, and presto, their bodies would be floating around in the ether.
It would suit him perfectly, actually. Because what worried him most wasn't really that Syed, Kylo, or Rey had disappeared. It was what they would probably return one day. And his instincts told him that when they reappeared all hell would break loose.
He stepped out of the elevator and strode to his desk, removing one glove with his right hand.
Pulling out his phone, he dialed Kylo Ren's cell number. He picked up for once.
“Seven hells, Kylo, what do you think you’re doing?!” He yelled. “Have you forgotten that until further notice, you are bound by contract to the First Order? Your sorry arse better be in my office before noon!”
“Mr. Solo is not available,” said a male voice Hux didn’t immediately recognize. “And to whom do I have the honor of speaking? Armitage Hux I presume?”
He froze, shocked. “Who are you? Get me Kylo Ren right away!”
“You may call me Master Windu. Congratulations on your impressive career, Armitage. I always knew that you had the means to channel your ambition. Unfortunately Mr. Solo no longer answers this number, I take care of that now. What you say to him, you can say to me. I take my client's privacy very seriously.”
Armitage hung up.
Master Windu half-smiled as he handed the device to Ben Solo.
“What did he want?” Ben asked, taking the phone.
“To threaten or blackmail you, probably. Nothing he can really do anyway, now that I'm here. In your interest, Mr. Solo, I forbid you to answer the phone from now on, until further notice. You don't know who’s recording what. All your communications will have to go through me.”
Ben Solo nodded, moistening his lips.
“You received a text earlier,” added the lawyer. “I erased it. No more texts, understand?”
“Who was it?” Ben asked, his heart pounding suddenly.
“Rey something or other. It was quite romantic too. You haven't forgotten to mention a mistress to me, I hope?”
“It's none of your business,” Ben muttered defensively, fighting the blush rising to his cheeks. “It’s unrelated to the case. Your services don’t come with an abstinence clause, do they?”
Mace Windu took a step forward. He was just as tall as Ben, his deep brown complexion drawing even more attention to his muscular frame. He turned his immaculately shaved head, his gaze piercing the young man and evaporating any pretense of confidence. For once, Ben was outmatched. He had long been used to overtaking everyone, physically or otherwise, watching them shrink in his presence. There was something new and intimidating about standing in front of someone of the same height, eye to eye. It would be perfect for the trial, but presently he felt like a kid being called out in class.
“Absolutely everything is my business. And especially the girls you fuck. Lest you find yourself with a honey trap who’ll make a confessional out of your pillowtalk. Additionally, I'll be keeping your phone.”
That hit too close to home. What if Rey had been a honey trap, sleeping with him for gain? The thought made his stomach churn.
He suddenly felt unhappy, and helpless. He’d gotten used to the idea of not seeing Rey again until she left, maybe until the trial ended, and maybe even a few months after that, just to be safe. But he had counted on their calls and texts. Didn't he promise to call her every day? Would she understand the circumstances that prevented him from answering her? She was smart. She would understand. As long as she didn’t think he was pulling anything (or anyone, he shuddered). He’d gone through a lot to gain her trust again after his betrayal at the camp that night. Their relationship wouldn't survive any  more lies.
The lawyer glanced at his watch, a fine Breitling.
“We have two hours left to review the situation, then we'll go to lunch. The rendezvous at the courthouse is at 2 o’clock. Whatever happens, you let me speak.”
Windu had reserved a meeting room in the San Francisco courthouse. Beside him, in front of a large lacquered wooden table, sat Ben Solo, in a suit and tie, newly clean shaven. He silently  twiddled his thumbs while waiting for the others.
The door opened and they both stood up.
Although he was prepared, Ben paled when he saw Amilyn Holdo enter. And behind her, the slender figure of his mother.
They shook hands.
His mother's hand was tiny, soft and warm, but firm. He quickly withdrew his own handzz a; he was more overwhelmed than he wanted to admit.
She sought his gaze but he looked away.
“Thank you for attending this interview,” began Ben’s lawyer, “were you able to take note of the documents that I sent you this morning?”
“Yes, but we hardly had time to review all of them,” Holdo replied.
There was a silence. Master Windu waved his hand impatiently. “And? What do you think of our proposal?”
“Following his appeal, I advised Mr. Erso to involve his own lawyer. But the offer deserves reflection nonetheless. After much discussion, we agree that this is a positive development for my client—or rather his sister—who will also represent Mr. Erso’s interests in this meeting.”
Ben Solo rolled his eyes. This conversation bored him already. He’d never been able to sit still behind a desk. Windu expected him to stay there all prim and polished like some kind of show pony. He hated the formality. Justice this, Mister that, the colleague in charge of representing the interests of whatshername...
He stood up.
Mace Windu frowned. “Where are you going?”
“To smoke.” Ben grunted. “Either way, you’re the one talking. Gimme a summary sometime.”
“I'm keeping the phone,” Windu annunciated.
“Lucky for me, I don't smoke phones.”
Without waiting for an answer, he left. Leia stood up too. Amylin Holdo put a hand on her arm. “No, Leia, stay. Let me handle this. Don’t talk to him.”
But Leia pulled it away. “He's my son, Amylin!”
Her dress swished as she left the room in turn. The two lawyers rolled their eyes, both knowing that nothing good would come of this. Mace Windu laid out the stack of documents on the table in front of him.
“Let's start over,” he said.
Ben walked down the flight of stairs at the entrance to the courthouse and sat down to light his cigarette.
His little excuse had worked, but his phone was still missing. He desperately wanted to call Rey. He wanted to hear her tell him that everything would be fine. He could say a few naughty words to make her blush and hear her chuckle.
He didn't even realize he was smiling. But his smile froze when he heard his name being called from behind.
“Ben!”
It was his mother.
His heart hammered. The hand that held his cigarette trembled imperceptibly. He turned around. She came towards him, slowly descending the steps with the help of her cane. In his memories, she was this indestructible superwoman, an infallible force of nature with shining chesnut hair.
In front of him stood an old, greying woman with weary eyes, leaning heavily on her cane.
His heart sank.
He said nothing, lips sealed tight. She walked closer, reaching out to touch him, but he stepped back abruptly.
“Did you come here to tell me you forgive me?” he spat, “that you want to save my soul?”
Leia shook her head, but he continued.
“You always knew, didn't you? That history would prove you right. That I wouldn't make it one day.”
A tear beaded on the old woman's cheek.The words were stuck in her throat. She felt like she was seeing her son for the first time. She found him tall, and handsome. He got it from his father. A wave of tenderness swept over her.
“Ben Solo-Skywalker,” she said softly, “I’m proud of the man you’ve become. I know I can't take credit myself—I wasn’t there. I was never there. But I see you now and I'm proud of you.”
He had planned everything. He had prepared for this confrontation a million times. He had repeated the words he had saved for this moment so many times that he lost count. But nothing was going as planned.
“You don't know anything about me,” he stammered, taken aback.
”That’s true, and I regret it.” Rey was telling me about how you’re always smiling and I...I can't remember the last time I saw you smile. I realized that I missed out on the most important part. I’m sorry, for all this time.”
“It's too late,” Ben croaked, troubled by his mother's sudden vulnerability, “we can't go back.”
“We can’t change the past, but the future remains. As long as I'm alive to watch you grow, then it's not too late. I'm tired, Ben. I won't be here for long.”
Ben managed a small laugh tinged with disdain. “So that’s what it is, it's not my soul you want to save, it's your own!”
The old woman's shoulders slumped. “I failed a lot of people in life, and you more than anyone. I'm sorry.”
“Save it. That's not going to stop you from doing everything you can to get me locked up for the rest of my life,” Ben said, taking a drag of his cigarette.
“It's not against you. It was never against you. Ben, I’ve tried all my life to protect you.”
“And it’s been very effective,” he hissed.
Leia smiled. “And I was wrong, you don't need to be protected. You do very well on your own. And even better when it’s the two of you.”
Ben raised an eyebrow.
“I sat down with Rey,” she explained. “I saw the glimmer in her eyes. The same one you had just now, when I mentioned her name.”
He pretended to know nothing. He didn’t want to know what his mother knew, or imagined, about his relationship with Rey.
“And I wanted to thank you,” she went on. “You were the one who drove Rey, safe and sound, to Winnemucca. Isn’t that right? So you knew what she was carrying, and the consequences. You could have stopped her half a dozen times, but you didn't.”
“I didn't do it for you,” he cut off, uncomfortable with where this conversation was going.
“I know. But it wasn’t for you either. It was for another reason, the best of reasons. And even if I regret the consequences for your future, I'm glad you did it.”
She reached out again to take his hand, and this time he let her.
“I know,” she said again, “that you sacrificed yourself for her. I understand what it has already cost you, and that it will cost you again.”
“I would do it again without thinking twice.”
“No doubt about it. And that's why I want to help you. Holdo will negotiate with Mace Windu to help you. We’ll fight this, together, and get you out of this trial with your head held high.”
Leia could never pass up an underdog, could she? Even as a widow, and mother of an orphan. She was exhausting.
“I'm not one of your lost causes, Mom. I don't want you to treat me with whatever cocktail of pity and lofty grace you save for the others. I’m a grown man, I know what I’m doing, and it’s going fine. I take responsibility for the consequences of my actions.”
Of all the words that came out of his mouth, the only thing Leia heard was that he had called her "Mom". She stifled her tears.
“Okay. I trust you,” she said.
“Thank you.”
He threw away his cigarette and crushed it under his sole. They were done here. She turned to go back inside, but stopped when he yelled from behind:
“Wait!”
“Yes?”
“Can I borrow your phone for five minutes?”
*******
Everything was going smoothly.
Rey put her phone back in her pocket, a smile on her face.
She was sure this was the last time she could speak to him in...a long while, but she didn't feel sad. A strange sense of serenity overtook her..
Ben Solo had spoken to his mother.
Even better, he had called her from his mother's phone. It would take time, but the curse was finally broken. They would talk to each other. They both had a lifetime to make up for. Against all odds, the trial that threatened to tear them apart forever was going to bring them together.
He’d asked her where she was staying. Vertigo Hotel, Union Square.
“I'll meet you there.”
She knew he would. Probably in the middle of the night, escaping the watchful eye of his lawyer to join her in the literal flesh. Both of them like lovesick teenagers, who snuck out of their bedrooms at night because being apart for more than a few hours was unbearable.
He no longer had a phone, at least until the trial, probably longer. It didn't matter, she wasn't worried. She didn’t doubt him. Her friends would think her naïve—but no one could understand the depth of their relationship. Within days, he’d sacrificed everything for her, and she’d fought for him too. There was something intoxicating about their bond, almost mystical, like the blood ties in ancient lore. Lestat and Akasha, Tristan and Iseult, or Hades bewitching Persephone.
She had no doubt that he would return to her when the time came. First he had to rebuild his life. Brick by brick. And she would be there for him after.
BB8 nuzzled against her leg, the happiest furball alive. They were leaving the vet again.
They had jumped through all the hoops to make sure BB could travel now: vaccines, certificates, a shiny new carrier. Rey had the best souvenir she could hope for from the States—so much better than a few measly postcards!
The look on Jessika’s face would be priceless. Rey could just imagine it:
Hey, I’ve got a new dog. But not just any dog, this one saved my life on multiple occasions and went on a secret road trip with me to escape a bunch of violent criminals, anyway how are you?
Leaving BB behind would have been unthinkable.
Rey took a few more steps, finding herself in the middle of the Golden Gate Bridge. Everything was perfect right now. The warmth of the afternoon sun on her skin, the blue skyline of San Francisco in the distance. The crisp white sails of the boats lazing in the bay, the endless horizon of the Pacific reaching into the vastness of the sky. The bright towers of the bridge, grand monuments to the creativity of mankind, connecting the sky and earth, bay and sea, mountains and cityscapes. The salty breeze on her face and the wind in her hair. When she closed her eyes, it almost felt like a caress.
Everything was perfect.The world was in total harmony. Her heart was finally at peace.
Her phone vibrated.
It was a text from Poe: Finn just woke up.

Here we go Again - a Kylo Ren fanfic
Tumblr media
Fandom: Star Wars
Pairing: Kylo Ren x reader
Request: @atomicjuicer asked:
Tumblr media
Summary: When you accepted the job of taking care of the children from First Order you have never expect that you also had to take care of a big grown baby as Kylo Ren.
Warnings: Commander Kylo Ren (Is this really a warning?); Fluff; Fluff Kylo;
Words: 4014
Notes: I’m sorry if there is any grammar mistake. I hope you like it, maybe it wasn’t what you are expecting but I loved writing it. Sorry for the late update.
(Y/n): Your name; (Y/l/n): Your last name;
         You are a new addiction to the First Order and even with all their bad reputation you still love your work. You are the responsible for the children that are born in the ship but are too young to start the stormtrooper program. Because of your proximity with the children you know a lot of people on the base and your best friend is Captain Phasma, the only other official who has the patient to take care of the kids.
           Phasma has presented you to General Hux, who got a liking to you for the simple reason that you are the only one who can calm down the commander when he was one of his famous tantrums. When you accepted this job in the First Order you were expecting to take care of real children and not a grown up baby such as the Commander Kylo Ren.
           Your cycle of work has ended thirty minutes ago and you are currently walking to your chambers to try getting some sleep. You stretch as much as you can without dropping your holopad you use to read books for the little children.
           When you arrive at the doors of your chambers and see a ginger hair you turn in your heels going back by the corridor you just left. Today was a really long day, the children didn’t want to sleep and you had to create a whole story so they could stop screaming and throwing things at each other.
           The last think you need today is the grown up baby that is the commander. You are half way of running away from the General when you bump into a silver armor and the impact sends you straight to the cold floor.
           With your head spinning a little bit you look up just to see the famous Captain Phasma taking her helmet off. Something she normally wouldn’t do in the middle of a corridor here anyone could see her.
           “(Y/n)! Are you okay? Have I hurt you?”  She asks in a soft voice kneeing by your side. Her rough hands hold your soft face while her worried ocean blue eyes scan your face for some kind of injuries. You let a little laugh escape your lips and she lets a smile cracks, she knows you are okay.
           “Ms. (Y/l/n)?” Hux asks in a low and raspy voice. You look over your shoulder to see the ginger general coming in your direction. You look back to your best friend trying to get her help and send the ginger away.
           Phasma stand up before you “Let me help you.” She says standing her gloved hand for you. She totally ignored your pleading, as always. The captain of the stormtroopers believes that you and the commander are a good match.
           You contrarily accept the rough material enveloping your friend’s hand and stand up. When you stand firmly in your feet you start patting your black uniform to remove the dust of the floor. You can see in the wall the shadow of Hux making a stop by side of yours and Phasma’s shadow.
           You take a long breath and turns to Hux with the most sincere smile you could manage at the moment. Which isn’t much convincing and Hux’s ginger eyebrows raise a little but you don’t notice it because you are fighting the urgency to jump in his throat right now.
           “I think this belongs to you Ms. (Y/l/n).” The general says as politely as ever. You look in between the two of you to see his gloved fingers involving you holopad. For some miracle the screen of it didn’t suffer from the fall.
           “Thank you general.” You smile at him while taking your holopad and placing it carefully under your arm.
           “I think I’m going.” Phasma announces and she leaves the corridor with a small nod as a signal of goodbye for both of you. You fight a smile as you see her putting the helmet back.
           “If you permit me asking.” No, you don’t permit but you think is better not announcing it at loud. “Why were you going in that direction if it is your free time?” Hux goes straight to the point and you roll your eyes.
           “Because the last thing I need today is taking care of Kylo’s tantrums.” You say as politely as you can without being disrespectful for any of your superiors. Being fired it the last think you need right now.
           “But I hadn’t said anything yet.” He argues with you and you notice the general fighting a smile of his own.
           “Kylo’s tantrums are the only reason you look for me general.” You answer letting your tiredness take your tone but you still manage to fight a yawn.
           “Maybe I was here to invite you to a dinner.” You feel you checks warning with this unexpected response from the general. “But I see that is Ren who have your mind.” He winks at you with a malicious smile on his lips. Why everyone on this ship thinks the two of you are the perfect match for each other?
           “No! It is not like that general!” You shout so fast and so loud that makes Hux’s eyebrow rise so high that almost touch the edge of his hair and your tired and sleepy brain notices it. You try to fight a laugh.
           “Are you just this desperate to have a date with me?” Hux asks in a playful tone.  You can’t avoid rolling your eyes at this commentary.
           “No. I’m desperate to prove you wrong about Kylo.” You answer laughing which make the general smile a little. ‘Of course he is wrong, isn’t he?’ You think to yourself and your stupid brain answer a simple ‘No, he isn’t’.
           “Of course…” He says rolling his green eyes. “But you are right about the tantrums.” When this reply leaves his lips you grown audibly and Hux cracks a wicked smile in your direction. “He’s in his office.”
           And then Hux leaves the corridor marching with his hands at his back and his head rise high. He acts as he hasn’t talked to you at all. You roll your eyes at his attitude. You don’t know who is worst: The General or The Commander.
           You look at your holopad resting under your arm and you wonder. ‘Will it be helpful?’ And then a smile steals your face while you imagine a scenario where you are reading a fairy tale for the great commander of the First Order.
           You decide that entering your room and putting away your holopad is a waste of time. As soon as you finish talking with Ren as soon you can go back to your free time. And you’re almost sure if you enter your room you would go straight to your bed.
           Your tired legs make their way to the commander’s office. You done this patch so many times that you are walking in an automatic way. You let a yawn escape your lips and a young mom you know for your work smile sadly at you. You are almost sure everyone that knows about the commander has pity of you.
           You fight your urgency to run back to your room and let the others deal with Kylo but again losing your job isn’t something you need in this moment of your life. You already fought so much to get this job in the First Order you can’t let yourself lose it.
           You are so catch up in your own mind that you don’t even realize you are already in front of the heavy doors of Kylo’s office. You make a tilt stop when you see yourself in a dead end.
            Why his office was to be the last door of the corridor?
           You listen to the echo of the steps of the stormtroopers but you can’t see them. They are in the other corridor, way back from this one. You look over your shoulder: it is a long and desert corridor.
           If Kylo attacks you no one would hear your scream of help. You shake this idea out of your head and your eyes fall back to the huge door. Your shaking hand is in middle air to knock on the door when it opens.
           “Come in.” A mechanic voice that you aren’t afraid anymore calls you.
‘If I’m not afraid of him… Why my legs are shaking?’ You ask yourself hoping Kylo won’t read your mind.
You enter the small and dark room that is shattered to pieces. Everything that was meant to be in his desk is broken on the ground. While you are looking and calculating all the damage you see by the corner of your eyes red sparks flying.
You avert one spark that is flying in your direction as fast as you can. You look in the direction it came from just to see Kylo breathing with difficult with his red and scary saber on. Its shine is the only light on the little office.
“Commander!” You call when you see his hand rising again in the direction of the poor and already unrecognizable panel in his front. He deactivates the weapon and throws it in the door direction. You hold your breath when it passes centimeters of the side of your head.
Kylo looks over his shoulder and when he sees you he lets a distorted laugh fall of his lips. The helmet only made everything worsen. “Of course they send you…” He says tiredly and lets a sigh escaped.
You are ready to shout a reply for his audacity of not accepting some kind of help when you froze in place. Kylo is taking his helmet off. Kylo have never taken his helmet off in front of you.
“Commander. What are you doing?” You ask firmly. You didn’t expect to sound as confident as you did and a smile takes your lips.
“I’m taking my helmet off.” He answers as if you are some kind of dumb person who need people to draw to you so you can understand them. This infuriates you even more. You are here to help him and he treats you like this.
“I know. But why?” You ask a little less confident this time. He turns in your direction without his helmet and you froze in place.
He is a pretty young man with raven hair that outlines his pale face. His dark eyes shine when he sees your body’s reaction to his huge form coming close of you. Each step he takes in your direction is one you take back. Still your back hits the hard wall with a loud bang and Kylo makes his stop. He don’t want to scare you anymore than you already is.
“I want to really see you.” He answers; He himself is a little scared of this situation. He never is so truly with his feelings. “I’m so sorry you have to be here.” He pleads falling to his knees in front of you.
You don’t know how to reaction to this. So you let your fury take off of yourself. And then you find yourself screaming with your boss. You are screaming with your commander.
“If you really are sorry you should stop acting like a spoiled child.” Kylo opens his mouth to answer you but you hold your hand between you the two before he could say anything. “You know where I should be right now? I should be sleeping. I love my work but some days it is a hard work. As it was today, I just needed a night of sleep without being awaken in the middle of the night because the Resistance is attacking us and someone should take care of the kids.”
“Wait.” Kylo stands up in a fast motion that scared you. You feel your back clueing more to the wall behind you when he approaches you with heavy steps. “Was Hux waken you up because of me?” He asks angry.
You shake your head in a ‘no’ motion and your eyes look to the ground. Kylo is so close of you that his and yours feet are centimeters of distance.
“Please (Y/n), answer me.” Kylo pleads holding your left hand his gloved fingers while his left hand rested in your chin and were slowly lifting your head. When your eyes met with his you lost your track of thoughts. “Did he interrupt you?”
“No. He found me before I entered my room.” You answer getting away for his hold. You like Kylo’s proximity to much for your own taste. He shakes his head when you get away of him.
“So why you are here?” He stops his himself before he scares you more by him following you around the little room.
“Because commander, you need someone.” You answer looking over your shoulder and feeling sad that he didn’t tried to pull you back to his long and strong arms. ‘And I was afraid of losing my job.’ You think unsure if Kylo is reading your mind or not. ‘You wanted to see him.’ Your brain complains with your rational thoughts.
Kylo tries to shakes the warmness warping itself around his cold ice heart but it is useless. He knows that you have melted the ice a long time ago. He can’t control himself when he stops behind you, who are looking to his empty wooden desk distracted.
You jump on your spot when you feel his strong hands on your shoulders. A shiver runs down your spine despite the warmness he is emanating. You find your will to snuggle in his strong chest.
“Follow me.” He says when you look up just to find his dark eyes are on you. “Please.” You have never ever heard the commander saying this word before and you fight a smile.
He gets off of you and starts walking to the doors direction. When you understand that he really meant you to follow him you have to run to catch with him. Apparently he didn’t even realize that you aren’t keeping up with his rhythm.
           It is hard keeping up the rhythm with his long legs that is why you are running after him so you won’t lose yourself in his part of the ship you don’t know anything about. All the black, cold and long corridors look the same for you.  This looks like the corridors that the high-rankings officers use.
           You are so concentrated in remembering the patch you two took, so you can go back to your chambers without losing yourself in the process, that you don’t see Kylo stopping in his spot. Your nose hits his hard back with a loud bang and you feel your head spinning with the force of the knock.
           You close your eyes expecting to feel your body hitting the hard floor but the impact never come.   You open you eyes just to see the dark ones from the commander clued on you. Your small body is clued to his had chest while his long arm is involving you fragile waist.
           “Thank you, commander.” You say slyly and avoiding his intense stare. He smiles a cute and shy smile; it feels that he isn’t used smiling.
           He puts you in your feet again and he turns in his heels to a dark heavy chambers door. You avoid his cape when he turns roughly and you try to take a better look at the door.
           It remembers a lot the doors for your chambers but way larger than them. They open silently, different from yours that always makes a weird sound when sliding, to display a dark and large apartment.
           Kylo enters without ceremony but you stay frozen in the corridor. When he feels that you aren’t following him anymore and he turns just to find you eyes wide in at the heavy doors.
           “Are you not entering?” He asks a little too rough for your taste and you enter shaking. You jump in your spot when the doors close behind you.  You look around and feel amused by the size of the room.
           “Are this your chambers?” You question and the commander, who is distracted putting his helmet and his saber in the couch, just shakes his head in a yes motion. You feel your heart accelerating in your ribcage. “What am I doing here?”
           “You said you wanted to rest.” He says as the fact that he leading you to his personal chambers is the most common thing in the whole galaxy ever. You shake your head at his infant act.
           “I was supposed to stop you from destroying more things.” You say fighting a laugh and a roll of eyes.
           “And you are doing exactly this.” He answers getting annoyed by the minute.
           “And how exactly I doing it?” You ask in disbelieve. He was the crazy one with the stupid idea. Why was he getting angry with you?
           “Well, I stay quiet in my couch while you rest a little.” He shoot form the other room that you decided not following this time.
           “If you are in the couch were I will stay?” You ask looking straight to his mask. This piece of metal scares you to hell.
           “In my bed.” He answers and turns in his direction while he is leaving his bed room. He isn’t using his cape anymore. “Here.” He throws a piece of fabric in your direction.
           You are able to take it in middle air. When you unfold it you realize it is one of his tank tops. You smile slyly at him and say a low “Thank you.” But he heard it and his heart feels the warmness once again.
           You go change yourself in his room while he is taking your holopad from the couch so he could sit there. You feel so comfortable in his t-shirt, which is so large in you that it looks like a black dress, that it makes you uncomfortable.
           Reluctantly you lie down in his bed. You aren’t supposed to be doing this and mostly you aren’t allowed to like it. You are so tired that when your head hits his pillow your eyes close instantly.
           The softness of the mattress and the sweetness of his smell make you fall asleep fast. You don’t feel when he enters the room and covers you with the warm blanket. But he stays a little longer watching you sleeping peacefully.
           He goes back to the couch with your holopad in his hands. How he can tell you that he feels? He isn’t good with words and mostly he isn’t good with feelings. He looks at your holopad, maybe there is something there that could make his confession easier if he knows what you are your likes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
           You wake up some hours later with a loud sound coming from the room where Kylo is sitting in the couch. You sit up in the bed a little dazed with the sudden wake up you had.
           With your head spinning you look to the cloth in Kylo’s nightstand by the side of the big bed you are in. It had happened more time than you expected. You need to leave his room.
           You walk to the other room to warn the commander that you are leaving to your own chambers but you froze in at the door. You see Kylo with your holopad in his lab and he sees concentrated on something at the screen.
           “What you doing?” You ask gently and his head snaps in your direction. His expression seems to brighten more when his eyes lends in your form. Why you are so stunning in his clothes?
           “Reading something called ‘Beauty and the Beast’.” He answers so unsure of himself that it sounded more like a question than an actual answer.
           “Are you reading a fairy tale?” You shout in disbelieve holding a fit of laughter.
           “I don’t understand. Why she accepted him?” He asks for you with a puppy dog eyes and you instantly sit by his side on the couch. He turns in your direction looking broken. “How she loves him?”
           “She saw who he truly was. That is how love should be. Love is about wanting to protect and take care of someone you can’t live without.” You answer taking the lock of his hair that is covering his eyes.
           You let your hand for a while close to his face. You are playing with his lock of hair and looking everywhere but his eyes. He puts his bigger hand on yours and in this moment you find his stare, his dark eyes look watery.
           “Are you able to love someone like him?”
           “Everyone is able to love, commander.”
           “Call me Kylo. Please.”
           “Okay Kylo.”
           “Are you able to love someone like me?”
           “What are you talking about?” You ask and he stands up getting away of you. He doesn’t have the strength to say this looking at your pretty eyes.
           “I think I love you.” You straighten in your place and looks at his form walking for one side to the other.
           “You think?” You ask with a heavy heart and a sad tone that Kylo perceives.
           “No.” He answers turning in your direction. “I’m sure that I love you.” He continues while walking in your direction. “But I’m afraid that you won’t feel the same.” He falls on his knees in between your legs and his hands reach out to yours.
           You gladly stand your hands to him and you smile at him. His knees go weak and he sits on his own legs but his eyes never leave your face.
           “I think I love you too.” You say and his face lower and you put your hand in his cheek.
           “You only think?” He asks in a sad tone and you lift his head up slowly. So he could look in your eyes and see the sincerity in your words.
           “No.” You answer laughing a little. “I’m sure I love you.”
           And then his lips are on yours. You don’t know how to react to this at first but then you out your arms around his neck and you pull in closer. His body covers all of yours and his hard hands on your waist pull you close to him.
           Your fingers are interlacing in his hair while his fingers are playing with the hem of his own s-shirt. The kiss in intense with all the hidden feeling but it his luxurious as you thought it would be.
           You two break up from the kiss with a heavy sigh and Kylo rest his forehead on yours. The two of you starts laughing for the whole situation but you moves a little way and look your sigh with his.
           “Stay.” He asks in a soft voice but for you it looks like a command but to him is a pleading.
           “Only if you promise doesn’t having more tantrums.”
           “I only made them so I could be with you.” He answers and you roll your eyes. His nose is snuggling in your neck and you can feel him smiling.
           “Promise me.”
           “I promise you.” He says standing up with you in his arms. You instinctively warp your legs around his waist and his hands go to your thighs.
           His face doesn’t leave the crouch of your neck and she blindly guides the two of you to his room. He lets your body fall in the mattress while he climbs on top of you and star kissing all of your face.
           “I promise.” He whispers in your ear before biting and sucking it. “I promise never leaving you, my beauty.”
           “I promise never stopping loving you, my beast.” You answer in a whisper and his face snuggles more into you while your arms and legs warp him closer to your smaller body.
           And you feel your eyes heaving again and Kylo yawns into you. His body heaving into you and when you realize the two of you are cuddling together.
🦇🎃Kana’s Halloween Hangover Rec List🎃🦇
Love Halloween? Not ready for it to be over? No worries! Old and new, these are some of my favorite spooky, suspenseful, and supernatural Kylux reads--perfect for drawing out your favorite month a little longer!
which is 100% why i’m posting this on november 1st, definitely not because i didnt manage to finish it before yesterday. nope, not at all
My Baby’s a Devil in the Bedroom | @callmelyss
- E - 4/5 chapters, 14 645 words - “Oh, obviously.” Kylo let out a shaky laugh and ran both hands through his hair. “Wait, no, you’re serious. You’re a fucking demon.”
“Well, yes, not to put too fine a point on it.” Hux smiled, clearly pleased with himself at the joke. “Or more accurately, I’m a succubus. A sex demon.”
Kylo has an unusual squatter. He's pretty fine with it. -
This fic is seriously amazing. It’s a super fun idea, the dialogue is hilarious, and it perfectly balances the sweetness and humor with angst/intrigue. Plus, I’m absolutely taken with snarky, smug, candy-tasting succubus Hux <3 <3
strange phenomenon | @brawlite, @kyluxtrashcompactor
- E - 8/8 chapters, 65 756 words - Kylo Ren is haunted by recent tragedy. He answers an ad posted by one Armitage Hux for a roommate, and he thinks a fresh start will help him begin to heal. He brings next to nothing with him from the past when he moves in.Or so he thinks. -
This fic is wonderfully suspenseful, and perfect if you’re looking for something to keep you on the edge of your seat. I also had a lot of Han feels when reading this one. Overall it’s just really nicely well-rounded with heartfelt and genuine characterizations, good spooks, and some searing sexual tension.
Something Wicked | @marlonbookcase
- G - 7/7 chapters, 22 514 words -  Kylo and Armitage have been friends since they were kids. Now in university, they run a semi-popular YouTube channel called "London Below" where they investigate all sorts of haunted and paranormal happenings in and around London and try to answer the question, are ghosts real? When they take on the mysterious and tragic case of the Pendle Witches, they come face to face with the spirit world in a way they never have before. Will they make it out of Pendle alive? Are ghosts real? And most importantly, does Armitage return Kylo's affections? -
I love Buzzfeed Unsolved. I love Kylux. I love this fic. A lot. As it says in the description, it’s not an exact Unsolved AU, but it really captured the format/feel of the “paranormal investigator” genre, so if you’re a fan of that, you’ll love this. Bonus points for some mutual pining and sugary fluff 👀👀
Second Spring, First Fall | @huxandthehound
- T - 5/? chapters, 7 018 words -  Nothing brings people together quite like the holidays. Well, maybe not Halloween... After a scare, Hux has to confront his neighbor. Lucky for him, Kylo might be a little sweeter than his tricks let on. -
A cute multi-chap made of Huxloween prompt fills! Lighthearted, but it’s still got that Halloween spirit. Plus I’ve got a soft spot for sweet modern AU Kylo :))
Some Strange and Unnerving Events | @longstoryshortikilledhim
- E - 10/10 chapters, 158 815 words -  As a boy in a dreary school on the moors, Kylo Ren had only one friend, a red-headed boy whose sharp tongue and wit drew Kylo to him. But that friend was taken from him. Now grown, Kylo goes into the service of the master of Stormfield Hall, the enigmatic Lord Arkanis, who is seeking a tutor for his charge. Kylo's past will come rushing back to him, both in his new employer and some unusual circumstances that bring to the fore powers that Kylo thought long-suppressed. -
This fic hit me like a ton of bricks. This fic hit me like TWO tons of bricks. Start this one when you’re ready to be feeling it for a few days afterwards. It’s an incredible historical AU with magic and a great murder mystery--it basically pushes, like, all of my buttons. And it’s /genuinely/ spooky, I had to start keeping a light on while I read it. Oh, and it features definitely my favorite Millicent ever. If you’ve got the time for something long, go for this one.
Reach Out in the Darkness | unicornsandbutane
- E - 2/2 chapters, 9 321 words - Having spent a decent amount of time researching the history and folklore of Arkanis, Cadet Hux strikes out one chilly evening in search of some legendary creature that's supposed to be extremely powerful. If the myths aren't true, all he's wasted is time. But, if they are based in some actual fact, then what a boon such an entity would be to his cause. He doesn't know what he will find, but he is prepared for any (absolutely ANY) eventuality. -
Tentacle monster Kylo. I am unapologetic. It’s really good.
Witchfeather | Whatever21ism
- E - 14/? chapters, 16 015 words - Armitage Hux is a new witch trying to establish himself in a new town. One day he goes out seeking a familiar, particularly a cat, somehow instead he ends up with a raven who is much more than they appear to be. -
A favorite of mine! Apothecary witch Hux & his crow familiar Kylo. There’s some really nice worldbuilding and crow Kylo is super cute. Possibly abandoned, but defs worth checking out what’s there & showing the author some love.
First Order Investigations | @mistresseast
- Unrated - series, 3 works, 58 094 words, incomplete - Hux and Phasma have been running First Order Investigations since high school, and Dr. Snoke's metaphysical research graduate program seemed like the perfect opportunity to pursue their interests under the protective umbrella of academia. Unfortunately, that meant allowing Snoke's personal project, a taciturn medium named Kylo Ren, to join their team. Hux and Kylo mix like oil and water, or, more accurately, like fire and gasoline, and Hux is convinced that working effectively with Kylo is absolutely impossible. They hate each other, and Hux is content to leave it that way.
But then, a case in the sweltering heat of South Carolina begins to change things between them, and Hux finds himself questioning not only Kylo's feelings, but his own as well. -
Paranormal Investigator AU of the highest quality. The detail and thought put into each investigation site is incredible. I love this fic to pieces, and if you like ghost stories, you will too.
Undead | @heyktula, @splinteredscript
- E - series, 2 works, 6 855 words, incomplete - They’ve been circling around each other for years. Kylo Ren, the most powerful vampire in Supreme Leader Snoke’s house, and Armitage Hux, the human liaison between the world of mortals and that of eternal darkness. Baiting, taunting, the cord between them growing ever tighter.Sooner or later, one of them is going to snap. -
A lovely and dark vampire AU~~ Gives off some real classic Kylux vibes, and is an absolute pleasure to read :D
Fixer Upper | @irisparry
- T - 5/7 chapters, 10 034 words - When Armitage Hux starts with First Order estate agents, he thinks the house on Alderaan Drive is an insult, a patronising set of training wheels for the new boy. He is ... not correct. -
Adorable haunted house AU! I love both of their characterizations in this one, especially shy, grumpy ghost Kylo~
Hair of the Dog That Bit You | @theweddingofthefoxes
- M - 9/9 chapters, 21 597 words -  Ren owns a popular tavern, and Armitage is a respected physician in town and the surrounding villages. Their years-long friendship will survive anything -- even the bite of a werewolf. Won't it? -
Full disclosure, I haven’t actually finished this one-- I have a tendency to get distracted unless I finish something in one sitting, rip. But I remember being SUPER stoked about starting it, and anything by weddingofthefoxes is guaranteed to be a treat, so I’m putting it on here anyway :D tbh now that I’m thinking about it again I’ll probably finish it tonight.
The Eldritch Effect | @generallyhuxurious
- E - 17/17 chapters, 67 899 words - For the last three years Major Donal A. Hux, formerly of the British Army's Parachute Regiment, and Kylo Ren, estranged son of US Defence Secretary Leia Organa, have been tooling around North America investigating "weirdness"- and they're plenty weird themselves. Their latest tip off is leading them towards a haunting in rural Alabama. But first they need to make a stop in Trinity, South Carolina... -
A real goofy Paranormal Investigators AU that I super love (but I also need to catch up on rip). It’s an American Gothic AU, but you don’t need to have any knowledge of the show to follow along (I don’t). It also comes with a series of oneshots set in the universe but outside the main plotline, so when you finish the fic and inevitably want more, you’re covered ;)
blackbird, fly | @acroamatica
- M - 19 265 words - One sunny afternoon in the mountains of Washington state, Ben Organa-Solo walked out into the woods.
He never came home.
Six years later, a journalist specialising in missing-persons cold cases decides to follow his footsteps and see where they might lead. -
This is a sad beautiful horror AU that is very close to my heart. The writing is just gorgeous and the suspense is beautifully done. Also, it about doubled the amount of emotions already attached to the song Blackbird for me (I still get a little heart-squeeze every time I hear it)
what’s real or isn’t | @brawlite
- E - 12/12 chapters, 57 398 words - Hux's new house is not haunted. It isn't. -
Super surreal haunted house AU. There’s also monster sex. This is definitely a staple of spooky Kylux fics :D
How to Kill a Living Thing | hedgerowhag
- E - 10/10 chapters, 25 394 words - It starts like any other horror movie: a young man moves into a strange old house full of relics of the past and becomes haunted by some strange entity. However, Ren doesn't find the monster that he expects. -
This one has got some of the most stunning, spooky visuals I’ve ever read. I could picture every scene and character so clearly. Plus, I love Hux’s characterization--he’s kind of a shit, and it’s beautiful.
Twenty-Six Weeks | @vmprsm
- E (eventually) - series, 4 works, 28 539 words, probably complete - Two mature adults need to do two things: live an a house with a stranger for six months, and keep their secrets to themselves. How hard could that be?
Apparently very. -
The author made a point of trying not to give too much away in the summary/tags, so I won’t either :D I’ll just say it’s one of my favorites, and definitely worth a read if you haven’t already~~
The Brief Wondrous Return of Vampire Boy | @hollyhark
- T - 21 190 words - Two days before Halloween, Hux hears a rumor that Ben Solo is back in town. While Hux does not believe the sensational version-- that his estranged childhood friend/enemy escaped from an asylum and is out for revenge --he is left on edge as to how to proceed. -
One of my favorite Halloween fics; it really encompasses the feel of fall/Halloween but also, like, good ol’ ~teenage bullshit~. There’s a lot of creepy Snoke stuff, some dealing with the fallout, and a nice hopeful ending :))
Ghost Encounters of the Hux Kind | carefulren
- T - 9/9 chapters, 25 610 words - Kylo purchases an old, abandoned house in order to get away from his family. He just wants the chance to be alone for a while, and he considers this house as the start of his new, isolated freedom.
Everything is going as smoothly as possible, until it's not.
Perhaps, Kylo isn't living alone after all.-
A sweet and soft ghost  story AU. I adore the ending <3 <3
Spookylux Huxloween 2018 | @nofootprintsinsalt
- T - series, 31 works, 36 896 words, complete - Huxloween 2018 - 31 benarmie fics in 31 days -
A series of benarmie fluff/horror for the Huxloween prompts this year! These were so so fun to read throughout the month and I adore the little universe that develops as they go on :))
Of Our Time | @ezlebe
- E - 15 297 words - “Do you know how many people would think it’s weird you walk around in the day?”
Hux grits his teeth in vain against an uncanny sensation, his own words digging and clawing up his throat to leave behind the taste of blood and bitterness thick on his tongue. “I could care less. I was made this way before there were movies – before fucking Stroker. Call me a demon if it makes you feel better.” -
I only read this really recently, and I was BLOWN AWAY. Seriously, this packs so much into 15k--it’s got feels, it’s got lore, it’s got steamy smut. What more could one ask for?
Shiver The Whole Night Through | @theweddingofthefoxes
- T- 5/5 chapters, 7 977 words - Ren's always loved hunting, so when he's told his paid time off won't roll over into the next year, he decides to take a week, get his gun and rent a cabin in the woods. But it takes no time at all for the hunter to become the hunted. -
This one’s very accurately tagged “Mind Games,” which really made it stand out to me--I do love a good spooky woods story~~
The Ghost Under My Bed | @longstoryshortikilledhim
- E - 19 525 words - Amateur witch, aspiring actor and full-time family fuckup Ben Solo discovers that his house is being haunted. Best part? His very own poltergeist, Armitage Hux, is kinda cute. Worst part? Well. He's dead. -
THIS IS THE SWEETEST GHOST STORY. I love it so so much. The sweetness of their relationship set against the sad backdrop of both of their histories gives this one a really unique feel. And the ending is guaranteed to give you the warm fuzzies <3
--
aaaand that’s all, folks! Lord, this post turned into a behemoth lmao. I just. really love supernatural stuff. (on that note, if anyone has read/written anything even tangentially spooky/supernatural, feel free to send it my way. I will happily give it a read ;)))
Happy reading! ^_^
Three Blind Tooke
 Part Three: Death is an Art
 Chapter Fifty-Eight: To Embrace a Moment
 Mother, I did what I had to do
In order to be myself and not what you
Thought I should turn into when it was time
To embrace this destiny that is all mine.
 Leia’s hand skimmed the surface of her lightsaber hilt. The limb trembled for a fraction of a second then closed around the cylindrical object. Her thumb nudged the button. With the lightsaber ignited, you beheld its blue blade that painted purple along the walls as its light melded with that of her son’s. The Knights of Ren fanned out. Predators waiting for an opening to attack their prey. Resistance fighters scooted away from General Organa to grant her space to fight. Some kept their weapons trained on you whereas others directed their attention to the Knights. Finn allowed one of the other Resistance members to take his gun then drew his own lightsaber from his hip. A yellow blade emerged. The blue tinted it green while the red offered a tinge of pink. Their lights mingled together in the cavern.
 For a moment your mind replayed what had occurred in the throne room onboard the Supremacy. On the day that Snoke had been killed by Kylo Ren, how the Praetorian guards had attacked and how Rose, Finn, Rey, Kylo, Hux, Phasma, and you had worked to stop them along with the attack on the Resistance ships. At that point you had been working to help the Resistance. To join the battle now would be the opposite. If you had been in possession of a blaster, what would you have done?
Kylo stepped in front of you, his body forcing yours to move backwards. You listened to the sound of gravel crunching under your feet. If there had been chaos when you had been assisting the Knights of Ren killing the First Order officers, there was more now that your mind was screaming at you for both sides to stop. The shattered peace of the moment wherein Kylo Ren had been willing to let the Resistance members leave struck you with a violence that brought you to your knees. Had you not collapsed, the blaster bolt that soared past your head would have caught you in the arm. Leia and Finn both locked their blades with Kylo’s in unison; the blue blade on the larger portion of the red and the yellow caught on a crossguard. The Knights surged forward to engage the Resistance members. It was here that you recognized their abilities in the Force. Using it to predict the actions of your former allies. To dodge their blasts and move in nearer.
 Trudgen’s giant blade cut through the first Resistance member to fall. Your eyes widened considerably. The muscles in your legs locked up tightly, your entire body beginning to tremble. “This can’t be what you want. I know you,” Leia said to her son through clenched teeth as she applied more power behind her blade.
 Kylo ducked, drawing his lightsaber along with himself at an angle. Finn’s weapon fell away from the crossguard. He went for another strike that Kylo once more dodged. “You know an idea. You have never cared what I want.” The venom that dripped from his mouth caused your throat to constrict. You could not help but think of your own relationship with your mother. Kylo cut through the air in front of himself, forcing Leia and Finn to step back to prevent injury. He used that distance to create still more, his palm facing them and sending a blast of energy via the Force that shoved them several feet away. Kylo, meanwhile, eliminated the distance that had grown between himself and you. You were on the ground by his legs. Protected by him.
 The red plasma blade was perpendicular to you, held out and pointing at Finn then Leia as Kylo divided his attention between each. This was a battle of wills as much as a battle of blades. A twirl of the red lightsaber caused a blaster bolt to ricochet, bouncing backwards and hitting the Resistance member that had fired. You watched the body fall to the ground. It crumpled so easily, nothing more than a sack of meat. It made your stomach churn though you did not vomit. You could not dissociate as you did when you killed those of the First Order. The Resistance had been your family. How could you kill them?
 Kylo killed his own father. Your stomach clenched for a second time while your mind conjured up the image of your father’s face. Next you saw Ip, whom Kylo had also murdered. Ap’lek had no issue with slicing through the Resistance fighter he faced despite having once been Navrin among them. Finn attacked on Kylo’s right just as Leia spun to catch the edge of the red blade with her own from the left. They want to disarm him. You scanned the individual fights that were taking place.
 A part of your mind screamed at you to stop the Knights of Ren from slaughtering the others. You started to rise with the intention to do something--you did not know what, but knew that you could not sit there any longer--only to feel a sudden sharp burn that radiated from your hip to your thigh. This was not the first time you had been clipped by blaster fire. You let yourself drop, effectively dodging the second blast that would have pierced your abdomen. A gut shot was a smart move if you wanted to down the target more easily. Why am I always getting injured? You pressed your lips firmly together, enduring the indignation of Ap’lek and Cardo both making their way to your body and standing by to keep you safe. Dealing with the way Cardo teased you for having been injured by your former allies. Ap’lek, thankfully, merely grunted.
 You reached for the leg of Ap’lek’s pants and pulled yourself up again. All the while you observed the fight taking place with the three lightsaber wielding individuals who were getting further and further away from you. Neither Finn nor Leia were as experienced in using the Force in battle as Kylo Ren was. That was clear to you with how he had them often on the defense. Leia, however, was visibly capable of predicting her son’s actions with such precision that you knew she was tapping into the mystical power.
 “You sent me away and never looked back!” Kylo growled out in response to words that you had missed. Leia’s voice had carried while her words themselves had been drowned out by the lightsabers clashing together and the cries of pain from the Resistance fighters. Even if you wanted to help them now, you would not be able to. Realization dawned upon you why it was Cardo had come along with Ap’lek. Cardo was observing both of you for signs of treachery. “You knew I was unhappy. All of you knew!” Kylo’s attacks were growing more aggressive. He swept his leg at Finn’s, knocking the younger man off balance and again using the Force to create distance between them. He then lunged for Leia. “Han would have preferred I did not have the Force. You would rather have your little Resistance. And Skywalker? He was jealous of my power. He held me back!”
 More and more he was hammering at his mother’s blade, fighting not only her but every ghost from his past. The Knights of Ren stood watching just as you were; they had finished killing the Resistance fighters that had arrived with General Organa. The intensity of Kylo’s eyes grew. They were darker, although that may have been nothing more than a trick of the light as the blue and red blades danced together then spun apart in repetition.
 “Snoke may have wanted me for my power, but he did not reject it.”
 “No...he only asked that you reject any part of yourself he could not use.” Her voice was so kind, so soft, so hurt. You could hear the agony in her voice as well as see it painted on her face. Not once did she argue with Kylo’s words; whether she agreed with them or not, you did not know. You doubted it. “I know I lost you when I sent you away.” Her words caused their recipient to grow rigid. He had not expected her to admit to her crime.
 Finn walked backwards without averting his gaze from Kylo Ren and Leia. His movements were slow, which offered the impression that he was listening for the Knights of Ren. You appreciated that he was on his guard; the Resistance had already lost too many this day. And I let that happen. You touched a hand to the wound on your hip. Hissed in pain. That caused the first wavering on Finn’s part. He gave you a brief once over then returned to observing the mother and son fighters.
 “You all viewed her as your second chance.” Kylo narrowed his eyes, the corners of them pinching not in amusement but still more pain. “You gave up.” The next cut of his blade through air knocked Leia’s to the side. Kylo swiped downwards then, at the last instant, stopped. The red glow illuminated General Organa’s face. Her expression contorted. The guilt she felt was visible to you even from this distance. “Return to your child.”
 In your peripheral vision, you caught Finn taking a step backwards in retreat. He was ready to leave there along with Leia in order to return to the Resistance. They would be empty handed. Obtained only losses here after Supreme Leader Armitage Hux had successfully destroyed more of your former allies. General Organa did not budge. She remained there with the plasma blade threatening to descend upon her shoulder and cut through her clavicle then diagonally into her heart. Her own lightsaber was on the ground. Its blade extinguished, you were aware that it could all the same be summoned back into her hand if she tried.
 “Kylo.” The sound of his chosen name spilling from his mother’s lips was all the inspiration Kylo needed to deactivate his weapon. He dropped his hands down to his sides. The pair observed one another without placing more distance between themselves. Leia raised a hand, which she set over her heart while continuing to meet Kylo’s gaze. “Rey has a place in my heart, but not the one that will always remain for you. You’re my son. You always have been, and you always will be.”
 She reached for him with her other hand. Kylo retreated from her, refusing physical contact and intimacy. Crestfallen, Leia reached to the side and summoned the lightsaber into her hand. Rather than reignite it and resume fighting, she hooked it to her belt. You found this bold given the fact that each of the six Knights of Ren remained armed. It was unclear if Kylo’s previous offer for her to retreat was on the table or if it would be rescinded.
 "I mourned you." She turned away from her son to consider each corpse. You glanced down at your own hands, at the blood upon them. "I wanted to keep you from this. From the politics, from a potential war. I thought I was doing the right thing."
 Tears sprang to your eyes as you thought of your own mother. How similar they were, your mother and mother-in-law. It was no wonder fate had tied you and Kylo Ren together. Escaping the ideas that others had for you. Dying. Killing your past selves as a means to grow. You did not hate your mother despite where you had clashed with her. Likewise, you knew Kylo did not hate Leia no matter how her past words and actions had hurt him. She stepped at last towards one of her fallen comrades. You watched her squat down and touch the man’s chest.
 “I watched Alderaan’s destruction.” Her voice was quiet, hardly above a whisper. You strained to listen. Kylo walked over to her. He ignored Finn entirely though the young male started to shift forward. It was only due to Trudgen moving that Finn ceased his attempt to join Leia. “I didn’t know that Vader was my...biological father. He killed the man and woman who raised me. Stood by while Tarkin ordered the destruction of my planet. B-Kylo… The First Order rose from the ashes of the Empire. You watched the Hosnian System’s destruction. Did you feel those deaths?”
 “Yes.” It was reminiscent of when he would wear the mask, the lack of emotion in his voice as he uttered that single syllable. “I felt Naboo die as well.” Leia touched the fallen Resistance fighter’s face. She closed his eyes, which had remained open and staring sightlessly at the ceiling of the cavern. “I offered a chance for escape. Their deaths are not on my hands.”
 General Organa gave a bitter laugh and turned to her son, her mouth twisted into a humorless grin. “They are, just as they are on mine.” She sighed and turned back to the dead. “You seek to rule the galaxy, but you’re too afraid to take responsibility for your actions. You blame the victims.”
 She rose to her full height, shorter than Kylo Ren, who towered over her with his back to you. “If you let yourself feel compassion, I might not fear the idea of you being the figurehead of whatever government rises at the end of this war. I lived in the time of the Empire. I will always rebel against that, always resist it.” Leia walked around him. She passed two of the Knights on her way to Finn. Neither of them made a move to stop her, although they considered Kylo for any indication that he might want them to act. “Look at the destruction that is caused when you are given free reign.” She made a grand sweeping gesture at the entirety of the cavern. You, along with everyone else, took in the sight of the scattered bodies. The First Order. The Resistance. This was tame in comparison to the other deaths he had caused, namely those during his time under Snoke and then as Supreme Leader of the First Order. “The Resistance cannot join this, Kylo. What the galaxy needs is balance.”
 “I blame the war.” This counter-argument silenced Leia. She pinched her lips together. Her shoulders heaved in a sigh and then she tilted back her head to consider the air around herself.
“They would have you rule.” She nodded, muttering an I know that bespoke of the misery she felt at this truth. “Do you see an end to this war? The fighting ends and yet there is no one to govern the people. You’ve been there before. You chose that life instead of being with me.”
 “This is your final offer to leave.” He could not even look her way. His hands were clenched into tight fists. Leia, too, had her hands in fists as she strode up to you. She paused to place her hands on your shoulders. You were jerked forward into an embrace. Your hands were in the air behind her for a beat until you melted into her hug. You wrapped her in a loose embrace, shaken to the core that she was holding you despite how much blood stained your clothes and skin. “Tooke.”
 A light laugh in your ear that consisted mostly of an exhalation. This was the first time she had heard her son refer to you by that term. You bit down on your bottom lip, allowed your limbs to fall to your sides. Your eyes were on Kylo’s face. He stared in return. His expression was guarded. As though he expected you to again betray him and leave with his mother. This man that had offered you love and acceptance. It was hard for him, you could see, to understand that you, like Leia, had places in your heart for others--places that could never touch the affection you had for him. People that would never be able to replace him, that you did not want to even endeavor to do so.
 Finn and Leia were permitted passage past the Knights of Ren, three of which followed after them. It was imperative that the Night Buzzard was in working order, otherwise it would become necessary to commandeer the Resistance ship and take the two prisoner. The other three Knights of Ren converged along with Kylo. You found yourself in the center of a partially developed circle. Hands began to pat along your body. You knew instantly that they were checking for bugs and other tracking devices; Rose had possibly created one since you had left the Resistance, and she had proven that she could put a lot in small packages.
 Though nothing was found, Kylo remained frowning. His eyes roamed your body. You knew an instant before he spoke what he would say when he opened his mouth. The order for you to strip had you glowering. As much as you wanted to argue, you knew it would be a losing battle. The Knights of Ren would overpower you. The throbbing in your hip was not any better. Growling, you tugged first at the shirt and worked it up over your head. The wound screamed as the muscles around it pulled. You flinched, doubling over. One of the Knights set a hand on you to keep you from pitching forward and landing on your face.
 You identified Cardo as one of the remaining Knights when he spoke, commenting that he would assist in fashioning better armor for you to wear on future missions. Ap’lek stepped around you, allowing you to see his mask. This offered a strange sort of comfort as he knelt down to work your bottoms off of you. You stepped out of them with one foot then the other, grateful that Cardo and the third Knight helped to keep you on your feet. You were allowed to keep your undergarments and boots along with your gloves. Stripped of everything else, you realized just how much blood had soaked into your clothing. It stained your flesh, visible more in some areas than others. The wound on your hip had the most blood of all, though this was not surprising. The blood that had started to dry had caked to the material. You felt freer now that you did not have your bottoms, although it had been painful to have them removed.
 Kylo roamed his eyes along your body at a pace that kept you from feeling self conscious. The discarded clothing had been due to possible unseen bugs. This? It was him checking you for injuries beyond the obvious one. You looked down at your torso and wondered if any bruises would blossom within the coming hours. Upon not finding more injuries, Kylo Ren gestured for all to head in the direction of the Night Buzzard to rejoin the others.
 Cardo began to walk first, followed by Kuruk then Ap’lek. You preceded Kylo, whose pace suggested that he had drifted into thought about all that had transpired. It was his first meeting with his mother in...how long? It had been years, you knew, and it floored you just how well he had done. You glanced over your shoulder at him, and he narrowed his eyes in response. He would not let himself process it all until he was alone.
 The Resistance ship had not left the planet when you were walking up the ramp of the Night Buzzard. You stared at it while walking. Its engines were fired up. Leia and Finn were visible through the ship’s viewport. Finn met your gaze. You waited for him to look away, not wanting to back from the silent challenge. This meeting had solidified the fact that your loyalties had at long last shifted away from the Resistance despite maintaining your belief in several of its ideals. You were working to meet Kylo Ren halfway, to discover a means of assisting the Order of Ren in ending this war with the First Order and restoring some semblance of order in the galaxy. The Resistance could only go so far when they barely had a plan once the fighting itself ended. How could they not realize that? You broke the connection between yourself and Finn, not for the first time, and entered the Night Buzzard.
 There was a stock of bacta stowed away in one of the compartments. You headed for that, wincing and hissing in pain as you applied it over your wound. You slumped down into your seat. Listened to the Resistance Shuttle lift from the ground not long before the Night Buzzard followed suit. The Knights of Ren and Kylo would meet with the other members of the Order of Ren’s hierarchy, you imagined. It was a source of vexation that you were not allowed to join in on those conferences. At least, you thought, it would give you plenty of time to check with a medic. Urvno would be less than thrilled when he saw your condition.
 Three and a quarter hours later, you sat on the arm of the throne that Kylo had previously slunk into. His posture was poor, one that would have driven any Academy Professor crazy with its sloppiness. Legs spread open. His elbow rested on his thigh, propping up the device into which he had previously placed the acquired datachip. The Knights of Ren had secreted away into a meeting to view the information. Both the portions that were now on display and the others that you were not granted access to. It hardly mattered that there was more, you thought as your eyes tracked the data line by line. There was much falling into place in regards to this war and the key players. So much was connected in ways you had never considered.
 There were five faces on the screen, only one of them familiar to you. This countenance was that of a younger Rey; when she had been a child, perhaps shortly before she had been left on Jakku. It made your stomach churn. Kylo tapped a finger on her profile. This expanded the image along with bringing up more information on her specifically.
 Sold by her parents to the remnants of the Empire for an experiment being run by Brendol Hux on potential Force sensitives by order of the late Emperor Palpatine. As a means of possibly increasing those abilities, the older and now deceased Hux had used genetic testing using materials obtained from the Emperor’s scientists. The sources had been Palpatine himself along with Vader. Your gaze shifted to Kylo’s face when you read that line. His expression was unreadable, and you had to remind yourself that he had already read everything you were now being shown. Two of the children had used only material from Palpatine. Two others from only Vader. Rey had been the one who had survived--Maker, there had been more than five--being given material from both. The program had not yielded any impactful results and had been shut down. Instead of eliminating the surviving children, they had been sold off once more. That’s what the addendum read. Rey had been marked for death, however the Imp in charge of her and the other children after Brendol Hux had left had opted to instead make a few credits.
 “The lightsaber called to her because of the experiments. Skywalker’s genes unnaturally grafted into her. It’s why her abilities unlocked when I entered her mind. How the bond so easily grew.” His mouth tugged into a scowl. “They would replace me with her.” He spoke of Luke, of Han, and of his mother. You lowered your eyes, unable to deny the fact that, once upon a time, you had wanted to replace him with her when it came to company. As though he could read your mind, Kylo turned his head and considered you. “That was different.”
 You supposed that was true. He had been your enemy at the time, or a complicated companion compromising your morality. The others? They had been his family. The ones to have failed him and try to force upon him numerous unwanted fates. They had ignored who he wanted to be. You, on the other hand, had seen him.
 “Snoke would have replaced me with her as well had been able to tap into her darkness.” A darkness that was not only Vader’s but Palpatine’s as well. A mere shadow of the two men. Rey was not like Kylo Ren; she did not have a family name to live up to. All the same both had been viewed as tools by those in their pasts. You better understood their kinship and why it was that Kylo could not dismiss her or kill her so easily no matter how many times she rejected him.
 Your thoughts drifted to General Organa’s actions in the cavern. She had not come with the intention of seeking out her son, but to instead obtain the datachip that he was currently in possession of. Had she known that some of the information revolved around Rey? If so, that merely strengthened the betrayal. The rejection, opting to keep the Resistance from joining the Order of Ren in a true alliance. To have this war live on longer. Those deaths, you realized, truly were on her hands as much as the Knights of Ren’s hands. She could have merged the two factions then worked to negotiate alternative ruling bodies when the war did end. Perhaps worked to mentor her son. She was, after all, teaching countless others how to lead a rebellion. Poe Dameron. Finn. Rey. At one point your understanding of Kylo Ren’s hurt would have frightened and disgusted you.
 “Why did you hug her?” He did not ask why she had hugged you, which a part of you had not been able to properly answer at any rate. You touched the area of your hip that continued to throb despite treatment. While showering, it had occurred to you that Finn might have been staring in part because of your state of undress. All that blood on your skin swirling down the drain along with the dirt. “Tooke.”
 Twisting, you shifted down to where your knees were settled on the hard surfaces of the throne with his waist between your legs. Your hands explored his covered chest and shoulders. They merged as they neared his face, which you cupped to better peer into the depths of his eyes. “I can love someone even when we’ve failed one another. It’s so painful. I wanted to have a moment that wasn’t that.”
 He sighed, his breath washing over your face. Kylo’s hands, so large and covered by his gloves as usual, seized your sides. He drew the limbs higher. Toyed with your breasts, cupping them, sliding his thumbs back and forth over their nipples. You closed your eyes and let yourself fall into the growing sensation of arousal. The warmth, which spiraled and crawled through your body. Its hot tendrils heated your face, your stomach, a wetness pooling from you.
 “The datachip contained information regarding three other Empirical experiments that Hux will try to utilize.” A short exhalation. Your eyelids fluttered open to grace you with the sight of Kylo appearing rather pensive. “I can extend the invitation a final time. If it is rejected, death will become a necessity.” You thought of the picture of Rey as a child. Her features slowly morphed into those of Aris. Next came the other children that Kylo Ren had taken from you on the day Phasma had been killed. “Should the Order of Ren be crippled by skirmishes with the Resistance, the First Order will be capable of claiming victory.”
 “I know.” The words were so quietly spoken that they were nearly silent. You pressed your body more firmly against his, rocking against him. You did not want to think about the war, not when you were aware that it was a placeholder for his other concerns. His personal agony. “Kylo...use my body.”
 He hooked his forehead into the crook of your neck. His nose skimmed along the exposed flesh of your collar, which grew in size as his hands tore at your shirt, stretching the material before it yielded in full, ripping. You listened to the damage done. Felt the cool air of the room brush along your skin, which was heated as arousal again surged through you. Your arms were wrapped around him as best you could get them. Holding him. Embracing him more tightly than you had his mother--you loved him most of all, felt completed with him there in that moment and sincerely hoped that you offered him those same sentiments.
 Kylo moved swiftly, turning the two of you so that you were pinned between the throne and his body; your bottoms were removed sometime during that transition. It baffled you how fast he was, made you feel foolish to have once believed you could defeat him. His hand shoved aside the barrier that was his pants. You groaned at the feel of him, at the way he immediately started to push his cock into you, the head starting to stretch you open. You held your breath. Whined when he stopped. If you had not felt the invisible grip of the Force holding your hips in place, you would have sunk yourself down on him, taken him into you fully, inch by inch. As it was, you were a prisoner of patience.
 With your hands free, however, you allowed yourself a chance to explore. Traced with just the tips the helix of his ears. He shuddered under your touch. His cock twitching, sinking further into you as though rewarding you. The muscles in your stomach tightened and you clenched around him. “Kylo.” A plea. One that earned you a chuckle and another inch within you. His hands were on the armrests of the throne as he braced himself. The first thrust caught you by surprise. Sharp. Deep, something you could have sworn you felt in your bones. His eyes were on your abdomen, where you looked as well. You swallowed at the sight, your cunt throbbing as you saw evidence of his size and skill. The bulge in your stomach shifted with his thrust. “Oh.” How had you never noticed this before? Kylo bared his teeth, drawing back, making you feel every bit of loss until only the head remained. He paused in his movements. “Fuck.”
 His teasing was torturous, deliberate. How you hated it and loved it at the same time. A paradox that fogged your mind as much as his next thrust did. He lifted his right hand from off the throne to place it atop the bulge that formed as he rocked into you. “How are you so perfect?” The words were murmured, yet they reached your ears and stole your breath away. He began to move in earnest, no longer pausing. His cock stroked your inner walls as it pulsated and throbbed. You felt him hit your cervix in unison with the Force beginning to roll over your clit. Each thrust caused a tingling sensation to travel along your injured hip. You closed your eyes to relish in the way it mingled with the pleasure. The heat coursing through you. How his cock stretched you more than should be possible. “You’re so wet around me.” You shuddered at his words, at the way they dripped off his tongue. His voice was deeper with arousal, nearly a growl. Kylo drew his hand upwards. You remained focused on how you could feel him stroking you from within. Felt every ridge, the way blood pumped into him, keeping him hard. How it made him so hot.
 “Oh, fuck,” you said again, purposefully clenching around him. Three fingers wormed into your mouth, shoving past your teeth and forcing you to drop your jaw to accommodate them. The rich tang of leather washed over your senses. You moaned around the digits. They fucked back and forth, nearing your throat then relenting. Forward once more. All in time with the undulating motions of his hips. The Force swirled around your clit. You felt as though someone was pinching your nipples, tugging them almost painfully. A sharp cry was muffled by those fingers.
 “You’re going to cum on my cock.” Another thrust, his flesh noisily smacking into yours. A dam of pleasure began to build with more intensity. Kylo slid fully inside of you, stopped thrusting in favor of grinding his hips into yours. “Do you feel me inside of you?” You nodded, tears spilling out of the corners of your eyes as he added a fourth finger. You could swear you felt your jaw pop, but the pleasure you were experiencing overrode any possible pain. “Nothing will stand in our way.” Again you nodded, and you meant it--understood that you had passed the point of no return. You would kill for this man. You would, you realized with a sense of awe, die for him. To live without him, to have him ripped from you again, was no different than suicide. You whimpered out an I love you that was so distorted by his thrusting fingers. Yet somehow he knew. The spark in his eyes, which you barely saw through your tears, was confirmation that he understood. “Cum for me. Cum on my cock.”
 You screamed in orgasm, the world around you a dull buzzing that faded, replaced by a darkness punctuated with stars. You felt him moving within you, seeking his own release. Could hardly imagine a time when your bodies weren’t joined. The breaths you dragged in through your nostrils were sharp, shallow. The tang of leather left. You breathed again, filling your lungs and returning to the world in time to feel his hot cum filling your cunt. He tossed back his head, groaning and growling through his release. You felt his cock throb, felt it pulsate with each streak of cum entering you. As he withdrew, you felt his semen starting to trickle from you.
 Kylo seized both of your thighs, spreading you open more widely so that he could observe his throne collecting your cum and his. “Look at you. So perfect.” Your throat felt thick. Your jaw seemed to pulse as it fought against the threat of numbness. You let your eyes wander about his body then his face.
 How many people had abandoned him? You tried to count them, not discluding yourself. Each person in love with an idea just as you had been. Except you had fallen in love with him for who he was. You had loved him when others found him unlovable and undeserving of affection. You held your arms out to him. Kylo lowered himself to his knees and rested his forehead on your stomach. His lips puckered forward in gentle kisses that trailed downwards. His tongue entered you, swirling, drawing a circle that elicited a swear of delight. “I join your body with mine, tooke. I don’t simply use you.” He buried his face between your legs once more after speaking those words. You screamed his name like a prayer, never wanting the moment to end.
I think there is indeed more trans Hux than trans Kylo out there, but I still managed to find some. Beware that I haven’t read most of the fics and therefore cannot say anything about their content. I also recommend of course you read the autor’s warnings;)
Trans Kylo Fics
“Almond”  - angry_android || Kylo likes to hang out at his local Starbucks and brood. Hux works there part-time while going to community college. Because of someone else’s sloppy handwriting, Hux accidentally calls out Kylo’s name as “Kylie,” and there is fallout. The fallout might include dating.
“pocketknife”  - angry_android || There’s a reason Kylo wears a crop top. Hux understands.
“Casanova, Fuck Me Over”  -  Anonymous || With another kiss, Hux glances up. “You promise try and keep your limbs to yourself?” Ren snorts. “I will try my best,” he says, placing his hands on the sheets, “If you promise to stick your face between my thighs sometime soon.”
“Tarine Tea and Lambro Shark”  -  armitageren || The First Order celebrates a recent victory on a luxurious planet and it’s the perfect setting for Kylo Ren and Armitage Hux’s first date. Hux struggles to survive the date with his anxiety putting him on edge because Ren doesn’t know he’s trans and he isn’t sure what that means for their future.
“all the noises (from your hateful little mouth)”  - bloomthefox || In which Kylo whines and puts off his feelings, Phasma calls it like she sees it, and Hux is a stone cold mystery. Or, the defense attorney AU that literally nobody asked for.
“care and control”  -  cracktheglasses (cormallen) ||  It’s a wide strip of dark brown leather, soft, already a bit worn at the edges, snapped shut over Ben’s wrist. It means Ben wants him. Ben needs him. He may not always be able to say it, but he means it every time he puts the cuff on, every time he puts himself into Hux’s care – I’m yours.
“juxtaposition”  - cracktheglasses (cormallen) || He hopes Hux makes it hurt. Hopes Hux is as mean and arrogant and smart here as he is everywhere else, the way Kylo tries to be.
“Changed” -   Davechicken || Kylo was sure from a young age that he wasn’t female. It’s not until he leaves home that he finds people who agree.
“Pushed”  - Davechicken || Hux has to push his boy a little, to get him through the discomfort. Kylo always appreciates it after.
“Control”  - DoctorNinjaSpy || Patience is Armitage’s most valued virtue. Sometimes, however, he falters.
“special delivery” - gonnapop || Hux had not intended to be present for this messy process. Rather, he’d imagined returning after his shift and being handed a clean, swaddled baby. But there was nothing for it now.He rolled up his sleeves.
“Heel, Beg, Speak”  - JulieCox || Emperor Hux has a new pet, and enjoys pushing him around. Kylo has secrets, and enjoys keeping them to his own damn self. But they won’t stay secrets for long.
“the Panty fic”  -  kyloskummies || Kylo and Hux are roommates. Kylo is trans and wears panties. It’s a hot day and the AC is broken. Y'all know where it goes from there.
“Bad Poet and Good Artist”  -  lovewashisname || Hux has moved schools before. He’s sure this time won’t be any different. He’ll keep to himself, make a few acquaintances, and put up with his father the best he can. But not even an hour into his first day and he’s shattered his phone, walked into a gorgeous boy, and had a very, very awkward conversation with said gorgeous boy. In other words, Hux meets the incredibly sad Ben Solo, and maybe he doesn’t want to leave this school so soon.
“Bad Poetry on Starlit Rooftops”  -  lovewashisname || Everywhere Kylo looks, high school is portrayed as either the best place you’ll ever be, or a shithole that will ruin four years of your life. For Kylo, it’s neither. High school has been a place to hide from his own body, and to get into fights every once in a while. So in one year, none of that will change, he thinks. How wrong could he be? told from Kylo’s point of view
“A Real Boy”  -  MosImagination || Ben solo is a transmale junior, he has a crush on a senior named Hux. Ben is too afraid to show off his real self, but Hux quickly accepts him. And loves him.
“Expectations”  -  MosImagination || Ben solo didn’t know what to expect coming home on Valentines Day.
“Shark in the Water”  -  SeraphicVictory || Kylo Ren was absolutely the best sailor there ever was. Or that’s what he liked people to believe anyway. In truth, he was no better than any other man at the mercy of the sea. With one fatal mistake, he and his ship were destroyed in a terrible storm, and Kylo was certain he would fall to the watery grave that most sailors met at the end. But then he wakes up to a handsome, red-headed man. His savior: The Mershark called ‘Hux’.
“Someone to come home to”  -  ShinigamiKnox || Hux is the supportive boyfriend and helps Kylo deal with his dysphoria. It was supposed to be a more serious piece of work, but I could not stop laughing at the infamous Ren quote. I’m so sorry.
Walking back with a cage in his arms that could fit a cat or a middle sized dog, Kylo debated with himself if he should tell Y/N what she was or if he just keep his mouth shut.
Turning a corner, he saw Y/N already sitting on the big creature, brushing clean its ears.
The only thing he could do right now was to shake his head with a smile.
“Did you get some medicine?” she asked from above and he held up a pouch with salve.
“Sure did. The director gave me an amulet that will shrink him to a better size. If you connect it, the rune closes and makes him smaller.” he explained and threw them up to her.
“Shrink him first so the medicine will be enough.”
“Got it!” she grinned down and started to whisper in the big creatures ear. First he didn’t seem to eager to get the collar on but still let her throw it over his head so he could slip through and she could close the clasp.
Quickly sliding down it’s side the big Toriko started to shrink until it was as small as a big cat.
“Wait! Why is he so small now?!” Kou protested who came slithering through the grass.
“I thought you might like him more in your own size so you two can play.” the director approached them.
“Nah, fuck that! Make me as big as him!” Kou snickered and his mother was shocked at the curses that just came out of her sons hissing snout.
“Kou!” picking him up, he let his head hang low, ready to get a lecture from Phasma.
“Sorry Mama.”
“I know you are excited that you have another new friend, but please behave.” she sighed and let him crawl in her hair.
“Okay Mama.” resting his head on hers, he watched the now small Trico who was sneaking around Y/Ns leg and let out a disappointed sigh.
Kneeling down Y/N held out her arm, which the Toriko jumped on and rolled itself together.
“Now we can give you a better treatment.” gently brushing over it’s head it started to purr again.
“Why the cage?” Y/N asked Kylo and he held it up.
“It’s a safe space for him were he can rest if he has enough of us. Look inside.”
Taking a closer look she could see a tiny forest inside, similar to the one that was around them.
“The director created it so he would feel more at home.”
“That's so amazing ...” Y/N mumbled fascinated still not able to realise how much magic was around them.
“Can I sleep over?” Kou suddenly hissed and Phasma looked up at her son with a frown.
“He might be scared the first night!” the little snake defended itself and Phasma needed to admit that it wasn’t a bad idea from her little son.
“Fine, but you listen to what Y/N and Kylo say. If that’s okay with you guys?” looking over to the two, Y/N nodded excited but Kylo rolled his eyes. Knowing that he would not get his hoped alone time with his mate.
“Sure, whatever...” Kylo waved dismissively with his hand before reaching it out so Kou could climb on it.
A bit reluctantly the little snake let itself fall onto Kylos hand who put him on his shoulder.
Walking back to their own tent, Kylo laid his arm around Y/Ns waist and watched her calming the new creature. When he wanted to lean over to press a kiss against her temple a light breeze brought her tempting scent right in his nose.
Feeling his fingers dig lightly into her waist she looked up at him while he held his nose closed.
“S...So bad?” she asked as if it was her fault that he was feeling so tempted.
“Its fine… but here, please wear it.” he mumbled, pulling another amulet from his jeans.
“It will hide your scent from me and others… the Director was so nice to lend it to us… I didn’t think it would be needed, but please wear it...” he explained while laying it around her neck.
Taking a soft and especially careful sniff the last bit of her aroma lingered in his nose before it was gone and he took a relieved breath.
“Sorry...” Y/N only mumbled while he held the cloth of the entrance aside so she could enter their tent.
“It's not your fault, Moonshine. But even I can’t control myself forever, with you tempting me like crazy. And I want to respect your feelings.” gently laying his hand against her cheek, she smiled up at him.
“Thank you for being so understandable. Its just that ….” Y/N stopped her sentence when her eyes landed on Kou on Kylos shoulder, who listened to them.
“How about we talk about this another time?” she suddenly chuckled nervous and grabbed Kou so she could place the two creatures onto the bed for now.
“You don’t have to explain anything. We will take our time. I’m not ready for cups either. Besides we have all the time in the world.” he let out a barking laugh before cupping her face and pressing a long kiss against her forehead. “I will get some hot water for our new addition.”
Looking after Kylo she smiled for a while, before she looked for a good place for Tricos cage, placing it right next to her desk and turned around to the two who already started playing what seemed to be hide and seek between the sheets and pillows.
“Kou? Do you want to take a bath with him?” Y/N asked the moving blankets until both their heads poked out.
“Yessss sounds like fun! Do we get bubbles?”
“Lots of them!” she promised. At first the Toriko was scared of the warm water and the unfamiliar foam that was swimming on top of it, but when Y/N let him down into the bowl Kylo had brought, it chirped and started to swim around in it.
Giving both of them a gentle bath, Y/N had a constant smile on her lips. She was proud of herself that she could help this lonely creature that had approached her, now realizing that maybe it really was a good thing that she was different, like most of the people here.
“So did you find out what I am?” she asked Kylo, after she had wrapped the two in a towel and joined her boyfriend on their bed, who was looking for a movie that they could watch on her laptop.
“You are basically Steve Irwin for magical creatures...” he grinned while munching on his beef jerky.
“I’m what?” she started to laugh.
“To be more detailed, you my Moonshine are a fairy. There are lots of them, but your specialty lies with creatures like Trico and Kou. So we could call you Khaleesi, Mother of creatures.” he started to laugh again which also made her giggle even more.
“I like the sound of that!” rubbing Kou and Trico dry, she made a little blanket cave for them.
“But why didn’t my parents tell me that?” leaning against his shoulder, Kylo calmly brushed over her arm.
“They probably don’t know either, Darling. Rey told us that most fairy children get switched with human babies, she can explain it better than I can. But I would prefer it if you just look it up yourself instead of hanging out with her.”
Hearing her slight chuckle, he looked at her.
“This is something I don’t understand. I’m your mate. We’re meant to be … and you still get jealous?”
“Mhmm… probably the instinct to defend whats mine. And that will not change.” pressing a gentle kiss against her cheek, she chuckled and cuddled closer against his chest.
“Can we watch this one?” Y/N heard a hiss from Kou and told Kylo about the snakes decision.
“Fine by me.” the werewolf grinned and carefully patted the snakes head and Tricos, after hearing the now quiet roar.
Smiling at the three, Y/N was more than happy to spend her evening with them, cuddled up in their pile of pillows and watch a calm movie.
-
With a last stroke of her brush, Y/N stepped back to look at her finished and probably last big banner. She now had finished everyone that had a part in the show, which also meant she would have a bit more time for other things.
“Are you done?” Kylos head poked around the corner, Trico completely rolled together on top of it. Chuckling lightly she took the hybrid animal from his head and nodded.
“What do you think?”
“It looks awesome! Just like all the others, but my own is still my favourite.” he snickered in her ear before biting it lightly.
“Kylo!” pulling away she tried to avoid his little love attacks with a grin.
“Do you have time later? I want to drive into the city for a little surprise I have prepared for the others.” she grinned from one ear to another and he raised his eyebrows a bit in suspicion.
“Sure thing, Moonshine. I could stock up on some snacks while we’re there. But we have to be back by nightfall, they want to make a big fire and celebrate a bit, since the show is doing so well.” helping her clean up her brushed, Kylo soon nuzzled himself against her back before burying his face in her hair.
“Sounds nice. Then let’s get the Flyers and Posters ready! Maybe … we could have a little bit of a date...” she suggested shyly which only made Kylo grin, showing his fangs.
“Sounds wonderful! Then get ready I will clean the rest of the car.”
They had just arrived in this town yesterday and they hadn’t unpacked everything yet. To be honest Kylo had expected that Y/N would already be sick of all this traveling lifestyle but she seemed more than in her element than when he met her.
“Your not taking your drawing stuff with you?” he asked surprised, when he saw that she had her camera in her hand instead.
“No, too time consuming. The paint would need to dry and we have so much to do …I just can’t resist my water colours.” she mumbled while looking at herself in the mirror. Brushing through her hair and adjusting the cardigan she had chosen to wear, Kylo just watched her for a moment before throwing his leather jacket over.
Dropping Trico of at Phasmas tent, Y/N and her werewolf were soon on their way into the city.
“Where do you need to stop by?” he asked while looking for a good parking spot.
“Just the copy shop. I preordered everything so we just have to pick it up.” she smiled while Kylo brushed through her hair with a soft look in his warm brown eyes.
“Always so organized and prepared. Nobody would expect you would live with the likes of us.”
“Well I Am one of ‘us’. Sorry that my fairyness is too normal for you Mister Werewolf.” leaning over to him, she gently kissed his plum lips.
“No, you are just perfect for me, Moonshine.” placing his arm around her waist, he pulled Y/N closer, brushing with his nose against hers while admiring her beautiful eyes.
“Lets get our tasks finished and then we can have a nice evening.” pressing a last kiss against his cheek, Y/N left the car while Kylo looked around for a moment. His eyes suddenly landing on a Poster of a shop.
“H… hey, you can go on. I can’t seem to find my wallet. I will catch up to you.”
“Oh sure. It’s the store right on the corner there.” showing him the direction, he nodded and waited for Y/N to be a bit further away, before making his way into the shop that caught his attention earlier.
Waiting patiently in the copyshop while someone was getting her order, Y/N was slightly swaying from side to side to the music that was playing.
“Uhm excuse me?” looking back at the counter another worker was looking at her, it was a small asian woman who adjusted her glasses.
“Yes?” asked Y/N politely and smiled at her.
“Are you from the Circus that you are getting the Posters for?” the other woman was whispering as if she didn’t want to get the attention of her co-workers.
“We are.” Kylo answered instead who was just entering the shop and pressed a kiss on Y/Ns head before laying his arm around her hip.
“Uhm well… is this really ...real?” she whispered again and Kylo leaned over to her to take a small wiff of her scent, which made her look shocked at him for a second.
“Ah … I understand.” nodding to his girlfriend she grinned as well while someone placed the posters and flyers on the counter. Y/N grabbed one Flyer and placed her Signature on it. “Why don’t you come over. The shows will start this weekend. We invite you, uhm?”
“R...Rose.” nervously pushing up her glasses again, the young woman took the flyer.
“We will be looking forward to seeing you at the show, Rose!” smiling at her, Kylo already took the posters while Y/N took two bags from the counter.
Making their way back to the car, Y/N caught a glimpse of another paper bag Kylo was carrying.
“Hey whats that?” she tried to peak but Kylo pulled his arm away.
“I’ve got surprises too. Only for you though.”
“What? What is it?” waiting for Kylo to open the trunk, she tried to sneak around him to get another glimpse.
With a soft chuckle Kylo just lifted his arm and Y/N let out a disappointed huff while watching the bag he was holding.
“I show you mine if you show me yours.” he winked and for a moment she considered it, he could tell it by how she was squinting her eyes a little.
“F...fine! Let’s get some tea and cake and we can give each other our gifts.”
“Perfect!” he exclaimed and pressed a quick kiss against her cheek. With a light grumpy mumbling Y/N searched through the bags before pulling out something in a thin white box.
Locking his car again, Kylo gently took her hand before they looked for a nice cafe were they could rest for a moment.
Sitting on a table for two outside, Y/N was already taking a few pictures of Kylo with his milk moustache.
“Hey, stop that!” holding his hand in front of the lens of her camera, Y/N started to laugh.
“Why? You’re looking so damn cute!” still giggling, she redirected it to the towns square to take a few more pictures and just watch the people walking by.
“So? Wanna do it at the same time?” Kylo asked , already munching on his cheesecake.
“Al..alright, but it's nothing big...” mumbling quietly she placed her present on the table while Kylo handed her the bag he had tried to hide from her earlier.
While she started to look into it Kylo unpacked the box and soon found a framed poster from his Banner.
It seemed like she had worked extra hard to get everyone their banners in a form so that they could hang it in their homes and by the number she had picked up, she hadn’t only done the banner from the show artist but for every single one in the camp.
“This is wonderful sweetheart. I hope you made one for yourself as well so we can hang it in our tent.” with a grin he looked up at her but saw only her shocked face.
“Hey what's wrong, Moonshine?”
“I can’t accept this, you wolf idiot!” she scoffed and he immediately grinned at her.
“Well I’m not taking it back, so you have to live with it.”
“Kylo this is too much… ” looking down at the electronic device in front of her, she could determine that it was a tablet that she could use to draw digitally.
“Well, you talked about that your paints wouldn’t dry fast enough, but I know how much you love to draw. Try it out. The guy in the shop prepared everything.” taking her hand he gently let his thumb brush over her soft skin.
While he enjoyed his coffee, Kylo watched his love trying out her new obsession, letting the pen run over the screen to sketch the towns square. Already seeing that happy smirk on her lips made his heart flutter.
“See, you love it.” he whispered in her ear which made her chuckle.
“Shut up! But really, thank you Darling.” kissing him shyly Y/N could only smile at him.
-
“Snacks, huh?” Y/N grunted under the weight of the heavy grocery bag, while Kylo pulled the Posters and Flyers out of the trunk.
“You know how much I can eat. Just drop it, I carry it inside, my little Fairy. Take care of your surprises if you want to give them away at the big fire, later.” ruffling through her hair, he pulled her back into a long kiss until Poe cleared his throat behind them.
“Why do I always catch you guys snogging when I come over?” he teased and grabbed the new Posters and Flyers that he and Phasma would take care of tomorrow.
“Not my fault you’re a creep.” Kylo laughed with a bark.
“By the way, we found someone at the copy shop. She will come to the show. She might join us. She seemed at least eager.” he explained to his friend and already grabbed the boxes with framed pictures, while Y/N vanished in their tent to change.
“She seems excited.” Poe grinned.
“Yeah, she has a little surprise for everyone and we had a very nice calm date. Much needed after the last few days.” Just when the werewolf put the boxes down, Trico jumped up on them.
“Hey little guy, Y/N will be here soon.” Kylo promised while brushing through the creatures feathers. Grabbing the bags with the framed pictures, Poe and Kylo made their way to the middle of the circus where a big stack of wood was already standing.
Letting out a small roar it jumped on his shoulders before jumping right in Y/Ns arms who was standing behind Kylo.
She had changed into a comfortable shorts and one of Kylos sweatshirts that was way too big for her, making her look even cuter to him.
“Want some treats?” she asked Trico who was pushing his head against her cheek before he let out another roar. Pulling out some shining white blue crystals she held them while Trico was devouring them. “Still can’t believe that his food is crushed stardust.” she sighed with fascination and watched the creature. After he had finished everything and licked her hand clean he purred and Y/N held the pouch of the sweatshirt open for him and he quickly climbed into the darkness.
“I will go make my round.” she was already trying to grab one of the boxes and look at the name, but Kylo stopped her.
“That would be too chaotic Darling, let them come together by the fire.”
“But how am I supposed...” she flinched when Kylo suddenly let out a loud howl, getting the attention from everybody.
“The stage is yours.” he bowed slightly and she hit him gently against his forearm with a nervous giggle.
“Uhm … hey guys! I just wanted to let you know that I had a little surprise prepared for you. And it would be awesome if you quickly let me hand them out to you!” she called to the big group and to her surprise they calmingly came one to another to her so she could give everyone their Artwork without it getting too crowded.
Kylo had sat down in a chair near the fire while taking a sip from his cold beer, carefully watching the situation,  just to make sure  it didn’t get too overwhelming for his precious love.
After a while, Y/N giggly as ever, let herself fall onto his lap, before nuzzling her head in the crook of his neck.
“Happy?” he smiled and pressed a gentle kiss against her hair, before offering her the bottle, which she took a gulp of.
“Very!” wrapping her arms around his neck, she let out a relaxed sighed while watching the flames, and feeling the warmth.
“I love you...” she suddenly whispered and laid her hand against his cheek to turn Kylos head towards her.
“I love you too, my little fairy.” he purred back before pulling her into a soft kiss.
