as much as I love Five, and I understand why he had to do it,
I will never forgive him for going back twenty four hours and erasing everything everyone else had done that day, not only because they could’ve figured things out about Reginald a lot sooner if Diego had still found out that Grace and Pogo had been lying the whole time, but also because erasing that whole day means Klaus never got to get sober successfully and summon Dave

You're Fucking Pathetic | The Umbrella Academy x Reader FF
A/N: I know this is not a Spellotape part 3 but I just got done watching season 3 of the umbrella academy and i am FUMING.
warnings: MAJOR TUA SPOILERS FOR SEASON 3, cursing, manipulation, incest
part 2 | part 3 (coming soon)
You had just returned from your life in the 60’s. It's been about a week and between Kugelblitz and Allison going rogue over the loss of her husband and child, you can’t handle anymore stress. Luther has been missing for days and so has Klaus. Diego has a kid and his “girlfriend” Lila is back as well. Everything was moving so fast. Too fast. You walked up to the Sparrow academy doors and knocked. Luther has been missing for a few days and because everyone is neck deep in their own shit they haven’t even gone to look. As soon as you are about to knock again the doors open up to reveal: Luther…in a Sparrow Academy uniform?
“Luther? What the hell are you wearing?” you asked.
Before he could answer “Ben” walked up to the door. “I mean, was he ever an umbrella?” he says, putting his hand on Luther’s shoulder.
“Is that how you feel, Luther? Huh?” you say before you hear a car pull up. You turn around to find Allison getting out of the passenger seat and walking to the trunk. “Allison?” you say but she ignores you and lifts the trunk up to reveal Harlan’s pale, dead body all curled up. Allison killed him. Your heart broke for Viktor and for Harlan. That was his son and you couldn’t imagine how he would feel when he found out. “You killed Harlan?! Allison answer me!” She doesn’t answer and instead walks in with the rest of the Sparrow Academy. You follow Luther to go find Allison and when you guys do you both start questioning her.
“Did you tell him?” Luther asks.
“Who, Viktor? Not yet.” Allison says.
“Man, He is not gonna take this well.” you say sighing heavily
“I did what had to be done.”
“I'm just saying. Should’ve been a family decision.”
“And which family is that, Brutus?” You ask, crossing your arms.
“Nice uniform by the way. You look like an unpopped zit.” Allison says blowing cigarette smoke in your face.
“Should we find you someone to talk to?”
“I'm fine. You’re the one having the identity crisis.”
“Oh, really? is “fine” what you call what you did to me at the hotel?”
“Whoa. What happened at the hotel?” You ask looking in between the two. “Someone answer me now!” You scream. Before anyone could answer Sloane comes in telling you all that Ben has called a family meeting.
“Both families. Do you think you could get your people to work together?” She asks.
Luther laughs, “Oh, you were serious.”
“I'm in.” Allison says as she shoves past you to the door.
“Y/n?”
“Not a chance. Not until everyone gets here.” You say walking into the living room.
Everyone arrives at the Sparrow mansion. Except for Viktor.
“Where is Viktor, Allison? Wasn’t he supposed to be with you?” you ask her.
“I left him at the diner.” She says before taking a puff of her cigarette.
“Un-fucking-believable. You are an honest to God asshole.” you say before Ben and Fei walk in.
“Welcome. Please make yourselves at home.” Fei says as she and Ben enter the room.
“Bitch this is our home.” Allison retorts.
“Excuse me?” Fei says.
“Nothing. She didn’t mean it.” You say trying to stop an argument.
“Where the hell is Klaus?” Diego asks.
“I don't know and to be honest I care just enough to worry but not enough to look.” You say, sighing deeply before closing your eyes.
“With our luck, probably Kugelblitze by now.” Five says which make you laugh a little.
“You’re a dark little dude sometimes.” Diego says.
“We don’t have time for idle chit chat. Everyone, sit down.” Ben says.
It was so annoying and awkward to be there. You hated it. This was giving you flashbacks of your feelings towards everyone when you guys were younger. Them locking Viktor away in that basement. The first world apocalypse that you sometimes hate Viktor for but Blame Luther for. You can’t stand the Sparrows either. They are cocky and arrogant. They have no family unity. No love and only empty loyalty. Ben is an asshole and seeing his face makes you miss your Ben. it makes your heart ache and you can barely look him in his eyes half the time. He thinks you like him because of that.
Ew..
“I feel like I'm sweating. Am I sweating?” Luther whispers to you and you reassure him that he is fine before he takes a seat by Sloane.
Ben starts the meeting. “Look, I know there’s been bad blood between us. Whatever. Bygones, right?”
You scoff, “Whatever? Yall almost killed us. So no. Not whatever.”
“Y/n. Shut your mouth.” Allison says.
You glare at her, “I am not talking to you Allison. So shut the fuck up.”
Diego raises his hand and Ben asks him what he wants.
“If I kill you, will we get our Ben back? Hypothetically.” he says with a smile.
it made you and Fei laugh. Ben? Not so much lmao.
“Keep talking, and your hand won’t be the only thing bleeding.”
“Okay, if the testosterone twins are done, i’d like to get back to a plan.” you and five say at the same time.
“Where is he?” Viktor says walking into the middle of the room. You felt so bad you couldn’t even look at him.
“Viktor…” You say, soft and low.
“What did you do to Harlan?” He says turning to Ben.
“They didn’t do anything. I did. I killed Harlan.” Allison says.
“What? i..i don’t understand.” Viktor says, voice shaking. “Why?”
“Because he didn’t deserve to live.” Allison said.
“What? Because they said so? You don’t have to listen to them.”
“20 bucks on the little one.” Ben whispers to you and Five.
“Shut up ya bone head.” You say but Five takes him up on his offer.
“They don’t get to tell us what to do.” Viktor continues. “You coulda talked to me. We could’ve figured out something else.”
“So, what, you could lie to us again and take his side?”
 “That’s not what happened.”
“Oh, no, that’s exactly what happened.” Allison says.
“I know Harlan killed all of our mothers.” Allison continues.
“What?”
“Whoa.”
“Who told you that?”
“Harlan. After you lied about it to my face.”
“Is that true, Viktor?” Diego asked, “Harlan started all this?”
“Yeah, but he didn’t mean to hurt anyone. He--”
“How do you know?” Five asked.
“Because he knew him. He was a harmless kid who was abused by his father. He wasn’t like us until Viktor saved his life at the lake. You guys know this. That was Viktors kid at some point.” You speak up, looking between Allison and Five.
“I screwed him up. And if you need anyone to blame I'm right here.” Viktor says, looking at Allison.
“What makes you think I don't?”
“This wasn’t about saving the world…” Viktor starts.
“This was about you hurting Viktor?” You say looking at Allison.
“Payback for--” Viktor starts.
“For what? Go on. Say her name.” Allison says, standing up and getting all in Viktors face. You sit closer to the edge of your seat just in case you need to whoop Allison's ass.
“Did killing Harlan bring Claire back?”
“Did protecting him bring Sissy back?”
“It was just as personal for you.”
“I didn't kill anyone!” Viktor yelled.
But you risked everyone! Do you know what that felt like? Watching you fight harder to protect the man who helped destroy my daughter than you ever did to bring her back?”
“I don't know how to bring Claire back. Okay? No one does. But I was there for you. I tried.” Viktor said.
“To do what?” Allison said, “Help me grieve? God, this whole family is so quick to tell me to suck up my pain and so worried about fixing yours!”
“Allison, choose your next words carefully.” You say, feeling your anger rising.
“Somebody had to pay because you never seem to.”
“Destroy the world, kill pogo, almost kill me,and for what? So we can all run around and clean up your mess?” Allison says, “I'm sick of it.”
“Take it easy Allison.” Five says.
“Okay, i--”
“Shut your mouth!” Allison yells, rumouring Viktors mouth closed.
Viktor starts to struggle for breath and you start to stand but five holds your hand tightly. Tears start to swell in your eyes because only you know how Victor feels about the past. How even after all these years he still blames himself for everything and how deeply he hates himself.
“Every time I build a new life for myself, You end the world and take it from me!” Allison yells in Viktors face.
“All right, that’s it. Knock off the power shit, Allison.” Allison lets Viktor go and you rush to his side, patting his back and glaring at Allison.
“We should’ve left you in the basement.” Allison whispers to Viktor but you heard her and you turned around and slapped her. Hard.
“Viktor, go find a place to lay down. I'll be behind you soon.” You tell Viktor, giving him a reassuring smile.
“Y/n….don’t. it’s fine--”
“Go.” You tell him. It's been awhile since you have been feeling this way and it’s about time you get it off your chest. He looks at you a little longer before walking away.
“Are you alright?” Five asks Allison.
“Is she alright? Are you seriously asking HER right now?” you scream.
“Y/n..i was just asking.” Five starts.
“You know” You chuckle, “i don’t give a shit! Okay, Allison? Claire isn’t here! She was never going to be here! You wanna know why? Because this isn’t our home!”
“Harlan didn’t help destroy Claire. She never should’ve existed anyway. You never should have had your life anyway.” You got closer to her face.
“All your life you manipulated your way to happiness. Rumoring your sister so she forgot she was one of us, rumoring the press so you could feel better about yourself, rumoring your husband into loving you, rumoring Claire.” Next thing everyone knew she pushed you and you powered up your electricity. The sky turned dark and the ground started shaking. Everyone was screaming at you to calm down but you drowned them out. Your adrenaline was running high and Allison's face was pissing you off.
“Y/n calm down!” Luther screams at you.
“You are pathetic! You put everything on Viktor but if we hadn’t locked him up for most of his fucking life not once but TWICE, then maybe he wouldn’t have fucking exploded!” You scream tears flowing down your face.
“You have no right to blame anything on Viktor. You lost your family the moment you used your power to get everything in your worthless life.” You took a deep breath and looked at her in her eyes, “You rumored him to forget his identity every day of his life…Even when he wanted space you tried to rumor him into going home with you when he obviously didn’t want to. So what, he sliced your throat? You let your lover sibling Luther lock him in that hell hole.” You scoff and walk away.
“Honestly Allison. Grieve your husband and daughter in your own way but leave Viktor the fuck alone before I seriously fuck you up. You are embarrassing yourself.

"Yes, Diego, you can punch them if they don’t cooperate, what kind of question is that?!” Before Diego could answer, Luther turned to the other side and added, “Five, take (Name) with you."
"What?!" you complained.
"Luther, no!" Five whined.
You should have known that befriending this endearingly dysfunctional family would backfire one day.
Luther was such a nice person that you never imagined he would ever bestow this upon you. Viktor was your usual partner when you had to split, but he was with Allison now.
Klaus and Ben were inseparable so unless they needed a codebreaker, which was essentially what you were, you were not needed there.
There wasn't an enigma or code you couldn't figure out. Unless, of course, the fucking enigma was sentient and a pain in the ass.
God, Five got on your nerves like nobody else had even tried to. You didn't know what it was about him, but you couldn't keep yourself from fighting him on every little thing and, through months of putting up with his constant need of being right, you found out he felt the same.
Shit, Diego was stubborn but you would have taken him over Five any day without any complaints. He was Lila's problem, though, and at any other moment, you would have been relieved.
"Why can't I go with you?"
Luther blinked. "Because I can do it on my own. Besides, Five is going to need you to gather the info."
"Why can't you and I go gather the info?"
"You want Luther, Luther, to sneak into a heavily guarded building?"
You would have thought him to be offended if you didn't know him. "I mean, yeah. It's better than putting up with you."
Five lifted his hands in exasperation. "I am surrounded by children!"
"That's rich coming from the guy who looked like one not even six months ago."
Viktor stood between you and Five, placing a hand on his brother's chest and the other on your shoulder. "Okay, stop it you two!"
"They started."
"I don't care, Five," Viktor put a stop to the incoming rant. "We're all adults, so let's act like it."
You nodded at him. It was always embarrassing to be chastised by Viktor in front of everybody. They never judged, but in your mind, they were thinking 'you just had to make Viktor step in, huh?' and yeah, maybe, but it wasn't intentional.
"Let's just... get it over with, yeah?" You offered, looking around at everybody.
Lila pointed at you. "What they said. I'm getting bored."
Why couldn't you go with Lila? You would have so much fun... well, maybe not her because your powers weren't that useful when fighting, but still.
Resigned, you asked Five, "So, how are we getting inside?"
"Give me your hand."
"What?"
"I'm getting us inside, genius."
Oh, that, yeah. "... okay." You offered your hand to him.
Five roughly grabbed it. The discomfort in the pit of your belly was over as quickly as it started. If only the corridor you appeared in was empty… oh, well.
Eyes were on you and Five and for the first time since you met him, you wished he looked 13 so that you could make a bullshit excuse about your little brother needing the bathroom.
Five didn’t even try to be subtle, choosing to ask about the office you were looking for openly. Unsurprisingly, security was called.
He grabbed your wrist and brought you with him, jumping from floor to floor.
Approaching steps prompted you to share a look. Opening the door closest to you, Five pushed you inside an empty closet.
He closed the door and shuffled to tug on the chain dangling between you to turn the light on. "Let's hope they stop following us soon."
"They wouldn't be following us if you knew how to keep your stupid mouth shut," you whisper-shouted.
Five inhaled deeply, lifting his finger to point at you before deciding it wasn't worth it. "Just do as I say."
"Yes, because that—"
He covered your mouth with his hand. "You're gonna get us caught if you continue being petty."
As if he wasn't petty!
But he was right, as much as it pained you to admit. You nodded against his hand so he would move off you. As much as he could move in such a closed space anyway.
Five removed his hand and rested his back against the door. He also put the lock on just to be safe.
"Do you know what time is it?" you spoke as quietly as you could.
"Why? Got somewhere to be?"
"Just curious."
"It must be like six or something. We should be out of here by nine."
You hummed.
"What's bothering you?"
"It's hot in here."
"Take your sweater off,” he simply said, as though that was the solution to all of your problems.
The sweater never came off, he should have known that by now.
"Was it a gift or something?"
"No."
"Look, just take the thing off, let your body cool off before you dehydrate."
"Okay. Turn around."
Five groaned. "There's no space."
"I don't want you to look at my body."
"I know what bodies look like."
"Yeah, but this is mine."
“Would it make you feel better if I turn the light off?”
“No.”
“Tough luck.” He started undoing the first two buttons of his shirt.
“Uh, what are you doing?”
“You’re not the only one who’s hot.” He stopped in his tracks, dropping his hands. “I mean as in—”
“I know what you meant, don’t make it awkward.”
Too late. It was awkward from the second he brought his hands up to undo the first button. Fuck.
As though he didn’t know it was already so fucking awkward you would rather be out there being chased, he undid the placket buttons on his sleeves and rolled the sleeves up to his elbows.
He couldn’t be idiotic enough to not know what he was doing. And if he was, you just hoped whichever God existed would have mercy on you.
Five looked almost innocent, peering at you as you did your best to not stare at him. As if there was anything else to stare at in the first place. Your goddamned luck.
The tiny closet was getting hotter, and you were sure the enclosed space had nothing to do with that.
Resigned, you grabbed the hem of your sweater and pulled it off. Five cleared his throat.
You looked at the wall beside you. “Stop staring.”
“I’m not.”
“Good.”
You expected many crazy things to happen that day yet standing before Five in just a white undershirt and jeans wasn’t one of them. It wasn't a proper undershirt but a camisole with bra support which made it even worse.
His silence was such a bad sign, too. Since when didn’t he have the energy to fight with you? There were ways to fight almost silently. Besides, there wasn’t any sound around you apart from the sighs he let out from time to time.
You held your sweater in your hand, feeling your skin grow sweaty as the weight and thickness of the material enveloped your palm.
"Why don't you just go create a distraction or something?"
"Because I would have to kill over one hundred innocent employees."
"There has to be another way, Five."
"Huh."
"What?"
"You rarely call me by my name."
"Well, I would do it more often if you were nicer."
"Would you?" For once, it didn't sound like a challenge.
"Ah, probably not,” you admitted. You weren’t about to lie to yourself just to spite him. You had done it many times before and it never ended well.
"Are you scared we're going to die here?"
"No. I would if the closet was air-tight."
"So it's not the possibility of dying or that you're busy later."
"Exactly."
"Well, I'm lost, then."
That was a first.
You shifted, doing your best to not lean into him. “I’m getting a cramp.”
He rested his hands on your waist, making you jump. “Sorry,” he softly apologized. “Just come here.” He brought your upper body onto his. “Stretch your legs.”
You groaned, immediately hiding your face in his chest to muffle your curses. Dropping your sweater, you fisted his shirt. “Fuck, it hurts.”
“Breathe, you’ll be okay.”
You took a deep breath, inhaling his scent by mere coincidence. It was rich, musky yet crisp.
“Thanks.” You lifted your head, forgetting you were so close.
Your noses bumped, you drew in a breath, and Five looked down. The warmth of his hands weighed on you, your knuckles were almost white as you viciously gripped his shirt as though it was the only thing keeping you grounded. And it was.
You would snap if you let go of his blue shirt, and you had the feeling he would snap if he moved his hands.
Searching for his eyes, you only found a parted mouth and the crease of his brow. You weren’t blind, or dumb, he looked attractive when he was focused — he was quite the looker in general, everybody in his family was.
But there was something about Five Hargreeves. It was a poorly kept secret between you and your conscience.
He whispered your name.
Your heart leaped in your chest. “Mmh?”
“Can I kiss you?”
You should have said no, you should have pretended this was a misunderstanding, you should have blamed the forced proximity of the situation. But that would make you a hypocrite and a coward, two things you hated with a passion. “Yes.”
He slanted his head as he closed the small gap between your faces, pressing his lips against yours. They were soft, perhaps too soft for the diet you had seen him follow, the most surprising part, however, was how willing you were to continue kissing him, how scared you were that he’d pull away.
Would it be weird if you kissed him more firmly? Did he even like that? How many boundaries would you cross if you dove into what you wanted?
You shakily rested your hands on his shoulders. The plan was to wrap your arms around his neck and deepen the kiss, a flawless one until you became frozen. His mouth slowly parted from yours, and barely moving any other muscle of his face, Five breathed heavily against your nose.
His lips were suddenly on yours again, so abruptly that the surprised sound your throat had made was swallowed by his kiss. He slowly slid his hands down your sides, reaching your outer thighs and tracing them up and down.
You quickly pulled away. "Turn the light off. Hurry."
Five withdrew a hand from your body and turned the light off. Breathless, he whispered, "Maybe we should keep it off."
"Yeah."
Voices echoed outside the closet. Five and you stood completely still.
This, silence, was uncommon between you. Insulting each other and complaining was your thing, yelling at each other too, not standing almost chest to chest, trying not to make a sound after having made out.
As the voices became fainter until they couldn't be heard anymore, you rested your head against the wall behind you. "Now what?"
"We wait for everybody to leave."
"Maybe we should have come at night."
"Luther didn't want to wait. You know how he is."
Luther worried, that was it, but you understood why his siblings didn't see it like that. You wouldn't have if he was your brother.
"Is the scar on your arm the reason you always wear long sleeves?"
You didn't think he'd ask. Or notice.
"They're comfortable."
"That wasn't my question."
You were glad he couldn't see you now. "Not many people know about it."
Five shifted. "What happened?"
"A fight at home went wrong."
His knee bumped yours as he got as close as possible. Five rested a hand on your waist.
"Can I touch it?" he breathed out the question against your face.
"The scar?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"I don't know," he admitted. "I really want to touch it."
You opened your mouth to tell him it sounded weird, but you didn't dare say so. It wasn't that weird in the first place, scars were interesting and they felt nice when they weren't on your body.
Maybe he followed that logic. The thought was a little terrifying, you weren't looking to have things in common with Five.
Some would say you already had.
"Okay." You wished you could see his reaction, but it was for the best that you didn't.
The pads of his fingers were rough, skin dry, he probably had never applied moisturizer.
The movement was slow, he barely put pressure on your skin as he steadily traced the scar.
"Do you hate it?"
"Yes."
Five hummed, hand still on your arm. "I don't hate it."
You had no answer to his comment, not even a sarcastic one.
Was he expecting you to tell him more about it just because you had some time to waste?
That didn't sound like him. Five always asked for what he wanted, or took it if it was needed. You didn't hate that about him.
"I guess you don't have to live with it."
"I have scars of my own."
"Do you hate them?"
"No, but I think about them often." He wasn't interested in talking about himself, or his scars for that matter, and so he asked, "Can I kiss it?"
"If... you want to..."
"Why else would I ask?" His voice dropped as he leaned in.
His lips made contact with your skin and you jumped. Five didn't apologize.
He started near your elbow, at the bottom of the scar. His mouth was warm against your skin, too warm, almost burning.
You let out a shaky breath as he carried on, tracing your scar with his lips, kissing his way up.
Five kissed your skin past the scar until he reached your shoulder.
Your hand traveled to the back of his neck where you slid your fingers into his hair. Five sighed, pressing his lips against your neck as your fingers massaged his scalp.
His sighs quickly became quiet moans. You couldn’t bring yourself to stop pressing the pads of your fingers on his head.
Five pressed his body against yours, flush against your middle, hips pushing you against the wall.
Against your skin, he said, "Tell me to stop."
"No."
"No what?"
"Don't stop."
He took that as an encouragement to leave a mark on your neck, eliciting a whine from you.
“We gotta be quiet,” he reminded you.
Easier said than done.
He made it even harder by rolling his hips against yours, hands gripping your waist. Five kissed you again, his tongue slid past your lips just as you scratched his nape.
A few questions popped into your head. Where did he learn to kiss? How did he know the way you liked to be kissed? And could he maybe give tips to other guys so you wouldn't be left disappointed every time after him?
As though sensing your distraction, he asked against your lips, “Are you comfortable?”
“No,” you honestly answered. “But this will do.”
“You sure? We can—"
“Don’t you dare.”
He huffed a laugh and briefly pressed his lips against yours. “Very well...” Five dragged his hands down to your thighs. "Push your hips forward."
You did as you were told, making it easier for him to undo your jeans and pull them down. He grabbed at your thighs, sighing as his palms finally made contact with the soft skin there.
His fingers brushed the waistband of your panties, and in consequence your belly. "Is it okay if I take these off too?"
"Yeah, go ahead."
He softly pulled on them, as though scared he would tear them off. He probably would, the material was soft, and light to avoid any ventilation issues.
For a while, he just caressed your thighs, barely grazing your center. It was unnerving, but not unwelcome. Eventually, he reached where you needed him the most.
He parted your folds with his fingers. You gasped as he traced your slit and pursed your lips to keep quiet as he brushed your clit.
He slipped a finger into your pussy, eyes on you as he used the thin line of light sneaking in through the one to gauge your reaction. He breathed out a laugh — it sounded more like the type of smile one lets out while talking on the phone.
"Wish I could take my time with you," he admitted. "But I don't want to ruin your back." Saying that, he started pumping his finger inside you.
You had never been the quiet type, much less when being fingered, but the prospect of being caught by people who were already worried both of you would steal from them was exhilarating.
Five added a second finger, prompting you to quickly bring a hand of yours to cover your mouth. He leaned his forehead against the back of your hand, aiding you.
Your chest mirrored the rhythm of the rise and fall of his own. His free hand steadied you as he pushed harder into you, curling his fingers inside you.
You really wished you could see him, and perhaps that he could see how much pleasure he was bringing you. There was no doubt he could tell, but you had observed him for long enough to know he liked to watch.
Another godforsaken thing in common.
Lifting his head, he briefly let go of your body to pull your hand away from your mouth. His lips replaced your hand as he kissed you roughly, biting your bottom lip in the process.
"Help me out of these, will you?" he whispered.
You asserted he was talking about his trousers. He kissed you as you unbuttoned and unzipped his pants — you pulled them down, touching his clothed cock by mistake. He stopped moving his fingers inside you and made a sound in your mouth.
Instead of apologizing, now you intentionally touched his cock, grabbing it from on top of his underwear. Five broke the kiss and hissed.
"I'm gonna get them out of the way, okay?"
"Yeah," he quickly answered.
Once his cock was free, you slowly wrapped your hand around it. Giving it a gentle squeeze, you felt it throb; Five sighed.
Taking your time, —because although your feet were starting to hurt, you had many minutes to spare— you leisurely stroked his shaft. He resumed fingering you, trying to prove he could focus better than you.
You sped up, firmly squeezing his cock as you moved your fist up and down. The problem was, he sped up too and he had an advantage: he could easily keep his balance while standing up no matter what, he was probably used to jerking off standing up in the shower or something.
Your legs hurt, not only because the space was tight, but because you were tight around his fingers too and he showed you no mercy. You hated that he seemingly knew you so well.
Oh, well, you could accept defeat if you got to come.
Five kissed you softly, dragging his lips to your chin, then your jaw. He went slightly up to your ear and nipped at it. "Can't wait any longer," he whispered, giving you goosebumps.
Withdrawing your hand from his cock, you found yourself missing the weight on your hand. Soon, he pulled his fingers out of you and cruelly, noisily, licked them. With a satisfied hum, Five teased you by pressing the tip of his cock against your pussy.
The teasing was, thankfully, brief. "Are you ready? We can stop if you want."
"I'm ready," you assured him.
He didn't need convincing. Pushing his cock in, he growled. You did your best to only whimper lowly, to keep yourself from telling him to hurry up and fuck you — you didn't trust your voice or the things your loose tongue could spill as long as he moved.
And move he did, sure you weren't hurting and sure he wouldn't come by the second pump, Five pushed his hips forward, driving his cock deep into you.
As he sped up, you wrapped your arms around his neck, scared either of you would hit your head. With the same intention of avoiding an injury, Five firmly held your hips, digging his fingers into your skin as he fucked you.
There was no rhythm, no alternative either in the way he fucked you. The space was what it was, you couldn't fault him for the latter, but you wondered if, perhaps, he had thought about this before, if the lack of rhythm and the harsh way he was fucking you meant something more, or if you were merely getting too hung up on the fact that he knew how to fuck you just right.
He didn't treat you like couldn't take it as many did, there was no assumption on his behalf that you hadn't been fucked like this before, and he used it to his advantage. Five nipped at your skin, grabbed your body, and hammered into you with the presumption that this was how it was supposed to be.
And it was. You wished more people understood that.
You also wished he wasn't good at that. But he was, and he had you so close to the edge with just his cock that you kissed him so you wouldn't start babbling about it.
He smiled against your mouth because he knew.
Needing to breathe, you parted from his soft lips, letting a string of saliva hanging between your mouths, and admitted you were close. He didn't need that, or any other confirmation for that matter, but he didn't comment on it.
He fucked you through your orgasm, bringing you into his chest so you would muffle your moans with his skin as he wrapped an arm around your neck and covered his mouth.
Again, you wished you could see him. His hair must have been a mess and his face red. You could picture it, and it startingly got you to come.
He thrust in and out a few more times, before parting from you and pulling out. You could tell he was finishing himself off with his hand by the sound of his wet cock against his dry fist. Kissing him, you swallowed his grunts and moans.
Something warm coated your thighs. They must have looked pretty painted with his cum. You didn't stop kissing him, prompting him to grab you by the back of the head and give you the longest kiss you had ever been given.
Hesitant, you pulled away to finally catch your breath which mingled with his as you both breathed against each other.
"Do you have anything I can clean myself up with?"
"Uh... let me see." He went through his pocket. "It's gonna feel weird. I only have a convenience store receipt."
"It's better than walking around with cum on my skin."
"Is it?" he jokingly asked.
"Yes, you ass."
The paper was rough against your skin as Five did his best to clean you up.
In silence, you both fixed yourselves up. What happened would probably be obvious to anybody, there was no way to make yourself look presentable in the dark and without a mirror.
The thin strip of light disappeared. You pulled your cellphone from your pocket and tried to use it as a flashlight, but it was dead.
"Let's give it a few minutes," Five suggested. "Twenty, maybe."
"I have no way of measuring time."
"Counting seconds might help."
You didn't know if he was joking or not. He probably was, because his hands roamed your body until he found your hips. A bout of pain pierced through you as he hit your nose. "Ouch."
"Sorry. What was it?"
"My nose."
"Oh, I wasn't too far away."
"Please stop."
He whined, surely by mistake.
"Can't you wait fifteen minutes?"
"No."
You almost laughed at that. It would have been funny if your eyes weren't watery and your nose didn't burn.
He persisted, but instead of kissing you on the lips, his own brushed your nose. "It wasn't my intention."
"I get it. I'm not mad."
"Does it hurt?"
"Yup."
"I broke my nose once," he said, voice distant. "Dad was mad because I was supposed to spatial jump before anybody could hit me."
"Were you distracted?"
After a pause, he hummed in affirmation. "I couldn't save everybody that day."
"But you tried."
"Yeah. Only I tried. And it brought me a broken nose and a month grounded."
You put your hands on his and dragged them up his arms until you reached his shoulders. Stopping there for a moment, you considered pulling away. You didn't.
You grabbed his neck, using your thumbs to caress his cheeks. You felt him smile, something so rare you would have thought the world would end any second now.
He dragged his lips down, not before giving your nose another peck, and traced your lips with his, not quite kissing you.
A hand left your hip. A click resonated in the room and you squeezed your eyes shut as harsh light hit you.
"A warning would have been nice."
He didn't answer. Five cupped your cheek in his palm, using his thumb to trace your nose. Slowly opening your eyes, you found him already staring at you.
He tapped your nose with his thumb. "We shouldn't tell anybody about this. I don't need Diego knowing he was right when he said there was sexual tension between us."
"God, no." Did Five Hargreeves just boop your nose?
Not giving you time to say or think anything else, Five kissed you for the last time that evening, trapping your bottom lip between his mouth.
As he, begrudgingly, broke the kiss, he handed you your sweater. "Come on, if we hurry up, we might have time to get a drink later."
You hoped you were able to hide how excited his comment made you feel, but going by the twinkle in his eyes, you hadn’t.
Oh, well, there were worse people to take a liking to.

One of the things I find the most interesting when it comes to the Umbrella Academy is the parallels between characters. There’s plenty of them, but right now I want to talk about one specifically.
In Season 1, we see Eudora get killed by Hazel and Cha Cha, and then Diego’s reaction during the aftermath of it all. We don’t know what Diego and Patch’s relationship was like, but we did know that Diego clearly cared about her and that Patch wanted to find his brother, not only for her job but maybe because she does still care about Diego. And Diego definitely blames himself for her death because he encouraged her to try things his way, which usually includes doing things solo and acting rather impulsively, and that’s what she did when she decided to go in alone instead of waiting for him.
Later, Diego is fighting Ch Cha and she tells him to kill her for Patch, and Diego spares her because he knows that isn’t what Patch would have wanted him to do. Five tells him something along these lines earlier, and I believe that it doesn’t really sink in until Cha Cha tells him to kill her while he is so close to having done just that. I also believe that deep down, Diego knew that the entire time, and that’s why he decides to spare her - also because “she’s probably not worth it.”
(I personally like to think that he also didn’t kill her because Grace wouldn’t have wanted him to do it either and of course, she died a mere few hours before this. Her death was still fresh in his mind, and while it’s not canon, there’s no way he didn’t also think of his Mom during that moment, even if barely at all, because he’s such a mama’s boy!)
And it is true…neither of them would have wanted him to kill Cha Cha, atleast, not in their honor.
Then in Season 3, we see the opposite version of this with Allison. She makes a deal with Reginald to get her daughter and Ray back, and before this, she commits many terrible deeds to even get to that point - such as killing a man (which, I mean, they’ve all done this at some point but there was really no need and she only did it to hurt Viktor), doing a certain something to Luther, and causing multiple rifts within the family. After making the deal, we also see her trying to persuade everyone into going into Hotel Oblivion to fight the guardians.
The interesting thing about all of that is that she does get Ray and Claire back, but only because of doing all of these horrible things. And I know that Ray would did not want her to do these things, especially not to get him back. I mean, they had a whole heartfelt goodbye, and while it was hard for Ray to let her go, he knew he would have to and he didn’t want her to stay there for him because she didn’t belong there. And judging by the look on his face during that scene, this is most definitely how he is feeling, or at the very least - something is clearly off about this version of him, and Allison isn’t going to get exactly what she wants.
We don’t know much about Claire, but I’m sure she would be quite frightened if she knew what her Mom had done to get back, possibly even being scared of her own mother.
Anyways, this is longer than I wanted it to be, but I just thought of this after getting out of the shower and thought it was a really interesting parallel. One of them didn’t follow through, but the other one did - because there is no way that Allison didn’t know that Ray and Claire wouldn’t approve of what she was doing. But she still did it anyway. Diego was about to go through with it, but was able to stop himself, while Allison did go through with it, and now has to live with the selfish choice that she made.

What are your thoughts about season 3 of TUA?
Let’s start with saying I’m now comfortable with admitting I liked it more than s2. Until episode 4 I was seriously worrying about the pace of the plot, it felt very all over the place but once the various storylines started to unravel, I was definitely curious about the direction they were pulling us towards. So there’s that, even though nothing can ever top S1 in my heart and that’s cause s3 suffer from the very same thing that made s2 so difficult to digest for me the first time around: tone inconsistency.
I want to make a huge disclaimer before I continue and that is: this is obviously an opinion I formed thinking about the show with a critical approach like I do with everything I enjoy, I like to think and talk about it “seriously” and then putting those thoughts into perspective if the context of said piece of media requires it. So don’t think I don’t know why the writers have chosen to give the show a lighter feel, a more nonsensical vibe etc. I’m not trying to over dramatize anything here, this is just something I really care about and I find it engaging and entertaining to talk about it with other people more in depth. ♡ At the end of the day, it is just a show about wacky interdimensional stuff.
THE CONS
With that out of the way I can surely tell you the one thing I disliked completely was Luther’s treatment and writing which I have already addressed in this ask but to reiterate I personally find the way they jumped from one characterization to the other incredibly jarring. This is not to say he can’t be the fun, affectionate one, I love that about him, love how it can be read as a deconstruction of the persona Reginald forced him to be to keep him complacent (stern, hyper responsible, detached) BUT it’s all taken to an extreme with him. Like they didn’t know what to do with his character after S1 so they decided to dumb him down, give him all the comedy gimmick, never again explain his train of thoughts and just leave it at that.
To add salt to the injury they immediately threw him in one of my most hated trope: romance at first sight. This is totally a me problem, I want everyone to know I acknowledge this but it’s a huge mood killer for me. I can uphold my suspension of disbelief for eldritch tentacles and time travelling teenagers but I draw the line at ‘I was moping and whining about my sister having married another man two hours ago but now everything I do or say will be for the sake of this random alternative dimension woman I just met in my old living room’. I’m sorry but no, it immediately antagonizes the characters for me, you do this and I can assure I’ll have to work twice as hard to even try to care about them in the slightest and it honestly sucks because I don’t think him and Sloane aren’t cute or don’t work in general. I just wish we could have seen at least SOME build up to it? One shred of her personality that didn’t involve her very sudden immortal love for Luther? It shined through in glimpses here and there but it still felt forced. That fact that he suddenly discards his family and even says her name as he dies, I mean c’mon. You have to SHOW me changes in your characters, you can’t just TELL me it’s there, this is the kind of writing that gets on my nerve. Especially because it wouldn’t have taken a genius to write it a little bit more consistently and still making it work. They had to finally separate Luther and Allison, which is more than fine (even tho I wish it wouldn’t translate in ‘they never interact normally again’), Luther needed to gain a new purpose, a sense of independence after being let down by his dad for one last time in s2 and having come to terms with his disillusionment and isolation. I’m really not a fan of implying he finds all this in a romance instead of building the characters separately and then maybe having the romantic relationship has a bonus, it would have felt 10x more natural and there wasn’t any reason to sacrifice their sense of self. The show made a point (S1) in characterizing the Hargreeves as people who have super powers but incredibly real, overwhelming, gritty and relatable problems. This entire storyline felt so disconnected from that kind of vision, I simply couldn’t get behind it.
A similar thing, in a less messy form, happened to Diego. Don’t get me wrong, I know they take care to insert bits and pieces of siblings interactions here and there but I’m starting to notice how they really struggle in actually managing their dynamics in a consistent, diversified way. Diego was basically isolated from his family all season. Not narratively speaking, it’s just that they always had him spend all his time with Lila and Stanley. Y’all, Lila gets to spend time on her own with Five and Diego don’t. He is just suddenly in dad mode and that’s it. He doesn’t have one single 1vs1 meaningful interaction with anyone else (brawl scene with Allison notwithstanding, that one I liked very much). Where with meaningful I mean somehow serious and/or relevant to the plot. This is the same character that gave us an incredible insight about him AND the others through his dialogues with Klaus (I have the sneaky suspicion they completely separated them in s2 cause of all the shipping but I’m still mourning them), Luther, Five and even Viktor. If you really think about it, we understand what life in the Academy was like at first through Diego’s eyes. I was honestly sad to see him kinda estranged now, they exacerbated his ‘slice now, ask questions later’ side and called it a day. Again, I know I’m generalizing on some things, he had some cute exchanges but in the grand scheme of things they just fell short to my eyes. Yeah, he had tears in his eyes when Klaus died but still they decided to write the scene like a gag and make it about him and Stan. As usual the new characters can only be developed at the expenses of the ones we already love and that’s why I find it so hard to grow attached. Anyway, my feelings about this are also totally biased and I know this, I never could grow fond of his relationship with Lila (I have an incredible resistance against putting female characters in all these little boxes right away: girlfriend, wife, mother, you have to fall in love immediately or we don’t know what to do with you, oh here you go then be plagued with thoughts and anguishes about your value as a woman once you get pregnant etc.) plus the ‘style’ of their dynamic is really not my cup of tea (constant teasing, manipulations and such) and that’s just about different taste in media tropes so yeah. I’m indifferent about them now, I like both as single characters and I guess I’m just feeling stressed about their story possibly being only about parenthood from now on. Again, totally makes sense for Diego, with all his internalized daddy issues, his sense of insecurity and his overcompensation, I’m glad they feel secure in their relationship and everything but god I wish the writing was different and didn’t hyperfocus on a single dynamic leaving out everything else. Also why did we see him grow into his powers, deviating bullets and such in S2 and this time around he barely touches his knives?
I’m gonna try and speed up from here about the other things that left me kinda eh: there are several plot holes I think? That break up the immersion for me. Like, this is a genuine question if anyone else want to pitch in but isn’t Reginald’s plan basically a retcon to S1? If he always knew about Obsidian and the sigil (and it’s implied that he did since he very conveniently adopted seven children for seven stars/bells in every timeline) and he specifically sent Luther to the moon to guard Abigail (personally preferred the version where it was ACTUALLY meaningless, ‘cause it was such a pivotal point for Luther’s development ugh), why the hell did he kill himself in S1? So the siblings could get together and save the world, that’s what we are told. But if they really had succeeded then what? He was dead, how did he think to put everything in motion then? He says something to Klaus about him expecting his son to summon his spirit and then we’re told in the same breath he purposefully raised them to fear their powers so how did he expect that to work? It could have been his plan all along, you say, the timelines, the dimensions… how? How could have he known that Five would be back? That Klaus would throw the journal into the trash? That Leonard existed and would have found it, that his plan to manipulate Viktor would work, that reconciliation among the siblings would be shaky at best, that they would end up in the 60s, in the same city where he lived years before they were born etc. they are just too many variables. Maybe he was not really dead? No! Klaus finds him in the afterlife so???? I have many questions about that, I hope they’re gonna go over it in s4 at this point.
I’m incredibly sorry to say, I still don’t care about the Sparrows. (picture me saying this like the “You know what I'm about to say it I don't care that you broke your elbow” kid) It was inevitable, there were just TOO many characters and the writers have proven times and times again that they struggle with balancing too many characterizations at once, something had to give. As a concept, they were incredibly interesting but the first three episodes, where it seemed like the main point of focus would have been their conflict felt so weird simply because it was based on something too silly like trespassing (as they put it, they didn’t manage to convey the real reasons very well). Zero depth there about their real motivations, the relationships they shared etc. We vaguely understand they weren’t really close from what Sloane tells Ben but then again, they talk about avenging their siblings in a scene and don’t care in the next, I don’t know everything about them felt strange, like they really were just some placeholder npcs that were never intended to take up much space. So I honestly felt nothing when Jayme and Alphonso died, don’t honestly understand why they wouldn’t tell us ANYTHING about Christopher, was he supposed to be some kind of comedy relief? If so I’m completely off that target audience. Fei and Ben were the only ones that kept me going in those few initial episodes, their dynamic was interesting and kept the tone of the series a little more serious which was what I personally needed. I’m disappointed they took Marcus out in less than an episode, those crumbs we got about his personality and the possible interactions with Viktor and the others were interesting. Also it’s totally not my place to say, but it didn’t really feel right to yeeet another black character this way.
With Sloane, as I was saying it was really just about wasted potential. I look forward to know her better (I know they aren’t gonna get rid of her so easily) but damn if I wish it wasn’t framed by the romance arc. Her powers are super cool? She’s obviously incredibly smart as we gathered from that 3 lines exchange she has with Five as they try to trap the Blitz. She’s very sweet, I liked how she was so open to know every Umbrella better if given the chance and Genesis’ performance was really good! So fingers crossed.
Ben’s everything felt like a huge scam ngl. I had the distinct impression they had cut a lot of content about him, like the Jennifer storyline. Everything about his character was, once again, told to us instead of shown. Kinda like a grocery list, you know? So yeah, he’s jealous, he’s resentful, he was once number one than he wasn’t anymore, anything else? He had his moments for sure and I understand the direction they wanted to take with him, I just think it would have benefitted from more careful writing. As a rule of thumb, I always prefer to see less stuff happening if that means it’s going to be written better instead of a thousand shallow plotlines.
Still not over the fact that they didn’t truly take their time to explore what it meant for everyone and especially Klaus to see him again. Luther, Diego, Allison and Viktor mourned him when they were sixteen. Five didn’t see him for forty-five years just to be told he died without being offered a real explanation. Klaus mourned him twice without having said goodbye and he was the sibling who knew him better than everyone else. Did you notice how everyone described Ben this season? He was the best of us, so sweet, so soft, so timid, so good. That’s what they remember from their childhood. Klaus tells Sparrow!Ben his brother was a dark cloud, he was annoying, he was relentless, he was a scold but he was THEIRS and they all loved him, Klaus loved him for it. Their bond was tried times and times again by the life they both had to lead from childhood to adulthood and it was strained in the end but it was also real and very deep. Episode 8 does a good job at making us see what really is going on inside their heads and how Sparrow!Ben is actually feeling the weight of the comparison. It was worth expanding imo, with Klaus especially being allowed to grieve.
The last real con I want to address is of course the elephant in the room which I kept for last cause in my opinion it’s exactly the monster child of this whole inconsistent writing: Allison and Luther’s scene. I won’t insult anyone’s intelligence by reiterating the fact that the act itself was horrible and not something anyone should ever condone but I think the real problem here is what they decided to do after. That scene was meant to show us viewers how desperate and how low Allison had fallen into her grief. It feels incredibly wrong to say but narratively speaking it could have made sense, it was indeed a very shocking, very intense scene. Emmy and Tom both did great in conveying how terribly wrong everything felt in that moment, how the actions of the characters were being portrait in a negative light which is obviously the intent here. I do not agree with never showing bad things on any media because these are things that happen every day and they tell a story. Allison’s struggle has always been about her relationship with her powers and validation, this is not all there is about her but it’s part of her identity as a character. While I am glad they framed the situation as wrong and that she stops shortly after in realization, what I do not agree with is how after that the writers basically never address it again. What’s the point of showing such a scene if you aren’t ready to write the aftermath with the same dedication and careful attention? If they knew it had to be that way then it would have been better not to put it in the show at all. Cause it wasn’t vital to Allison’s breakdown but could have had an important connotation for both her and Luther (how often do we see men portraited as the victims?). All they left us with instead is a half-assed message of ‘it wasn’t a big deal, you see?’ and that’s wrong cause it's a huge disservice especially to Allison’s character which is actually one of my favorite and represents something even more important for many of the viewers.
THE PROS
Whew, that was heavy. I’m sure I didn’t even touch all the points I wanted to address but honestly, we all need a little more positivity right now so onto what I liked instead! I’m at 2777 words, I’m gonna try to summarize for real this time oh my god.
Compared to S2 the siblings spent more time together actually talking and communicating. Not enough to avoid the usual trope of ‘sibling x disappears and not one notices’ and/or ‘I’m not actually gonna pay attention to anything you said’ that’s getting on my nerves lately ngl. But at least we had some more quality time among them and a good understanding of how closer they all got in the last few weeks.
Viktor’s coming out was handled in a very sweet, tender way. From what I read trans viewers appreciated it too and I think that’s really important. Absolutely loved the easy affection and immediate understanding from everyone else, it didn’t feel forced or anything, just personal enough to make it very soft and believable. On that note, it was a joy to see how Elliot’s and by proxy Viktor’s confidence skyrocketed after he was finally able to act in a body that felt more like his. His smiles were so contagious and I loved to see him so assertive and involved this season. His relationship with Allison is one of the most complex of the entire show and it made sense they focused on that to tell part of S3’s story but I look forward to see him interact with his brothers more in the future.
With the exception of what we have already addressed, Allison’s path was the most engaging to watch. Emmy was outstanding this season, I’m so glad she got her moment to shine because she’s a terrific actress and what happened to her character this season was something worth telling. Allison’s rage was a long time coming so it didn’t surprise me they chose that route, in this case even tho we don’t really know much about Claire and Ray (who’s still my fave extra character from s2, the only one I grew attached to) her motivations don’t feel forced or out of place because what’s matter is what we saw through her eyes. We just need to know how important they are, especially Claire, for her and that’s something that’s been consistent since S1. I related to her anger this season, grief is not all about sadness and withdrawal, it’s even more often about fury. And considering how she’s right about the others trying to minimize her anguish because it’s been 30 years and they’re still learning how to really exit survival mode where all it matters it’s your own well-being, her downward spiral makes total sense. Anger is a protective emotion but it swallows everything else more often than not, in her case it took away her inhibitions regarding her powers and the moral courtesies she usually extended to others and now felt weren’t really reciprocated. It was sad and intense to see her grow apart from everyone else but I’m curious to see what the reckoning is going to be.
Klaus and Five were part of why I liked this season way more than S2. I’m biased since they’re both my faves but I was just so glad to see them interact more in a less snippy way. This season addressed Five’s conundrum from a different perspective: he has lived all his life with the weight of something massive like the end of the world on his shoulders and he never had time to fill his head or his heart with anything else except this impeding sense of doom and responsibility. But he is tired and just like Luther, he is disillusioned because the universe seems intent in proving him wrong, in ending just the same no matter what he sacrifices to prevent it. It was very telling to see how this knowledge (that there wasn’t anything else he could do) liberated him instead of putting him down. He was finally able to soften his cutting edges, get to know those siblings he fought so hard to save better, let himself be known, indulge in the little things. To Five, trust is everything and he never trusted anyone, we are repeatedly shown this. Now he finally let himself lean on the people who know him and care for him and didn’t find them lacking. Confiding in Klaus, talking honestly with Viktor, being open to work with Lila, genuinely caring about what Luther wanted to do before dying, sharing an easy camaraderie with Diego, noticing what was wrong with Allison. He was so attuned to the human aspect of it all and that’s what, in the end made him choose to jump on the star against every instinct he had had up until that moment. Reginald keeps insisting on their similarities and it’s true, they’re similar in intellect, motives, methods but there are lines Five will never cross time and time again cause he’s willing to learn and part of him won’t lose that hope that kept him alive all those years in the apocalypse. His biggest vulnerability transforms into his biggest strength every single time and that’s something Reggie can’t take from him. Ps: loved his scenes with Lila, they’re really fun together and it’s interesting to see how their past in the Commission gives them this very peculiar vibe that only they share, their own rhythm. That said I would have loved to see him interact more with Ben and maybe it would have made more sense that at least part of Klaus’ storyline with Reginald would have been Five’s instead.
Last but not least, Klaus. You all know I could talk forever about him but that also means I probably already said everything I wanted to say in my various gifsets. I was afraid they would use him to completely redeem Reginald to our eyes and that didn’t really happen so I’m glad. I have to say, I kinda gaslight myself into finding a plausible reason why Reginald chose him to infiltrate the family since the show didn’t really bother with telling us. First of all, there’s the empathic aspect to consider. Klaus is one of the most, if not the most empathic sibling among the seven of them. It all gets mixed up with is erratic behavior but we are shown time and time again how much he cares. And that’s usually also his downfall because people tend to either abuse or distrust this part of his personality. What he lived through as a child and the instability that kept characterizing his years on the streets and his addiction made him maybe more fragile to emotional manipulation because he never really had anything to himself that wasn’t taken away violently afterwards. The number of interpersonal relationships he manages to maintain in the present are all dependent on his input for now because people don’t really seek him out. So for him, the possibility of rewriting part of his past with his dad, the most traumatizing figure in his life, was incredibly tempting and I get that. I don’t actually think he would have just stood there and got himself killed in that horrible way time and time again but I guess it was for plot and comedy (sigh) reasons. I appreciated seeing him grow into his powers, him remembering what really happened in that mausoleum but I have to say it was maybe more Robert and Colm’s performances that brought that intensity to life because like with everything else about Klaus, the writers have this habit of letting heavy important shit just slide, with every other character always underreacting or not caring at all. It was also all very short lived since everyone lost their powers now, hopefully not permanently because what the fuck. I’m just ? about why Reggie decided to leave him to die if he knew he needed the kids to activate the sigil (without Klaus he would have sacrificed Allison instead and that’s ic but the more the better, in theory?) maybe he was just afraid Luther’s ghost would manifest and tell him what really happened? I don’t know, it was heartbreaking to see (yet another betrayal from someone Klaus had grown to trust) but also a little bit thrown out there. The realization he comes to aka him not belonging to the living world, not deserving to live even because of his mistakes and the life he led was absolutely crushing, they immediately had to ruin it yet again with the funny lines but one day I will have my revenge and I hope he can have a real heart to heart with his siblings where they ALL listen to each other.
Okay I’m surely forgetting something (Reginald is an incredible character and even tho they keep tweaking him like they do everyone else, Colm manages to keeps a consistency to him that makes him absolutely compelling, just like Aidan does with Five. Very appreciated) but this is already impossibly long and impossibly messy probably.
To summarize, it is clear that S1 will never be topped, it was the perfect balance of serious topics treated seriously and light intervals of fun. But they had years to write it properly, now with Netflix it’s all about speed and the general public. To me, this will forever feel like a loss but I can only hope we’ll still get to enjoy the show overall like I did with this season in the end and maybe take it a little less seriously that I do.

Chapter 8: Subjugation
Tumblr media
Summary: One of the last truths come to light.
A/N: Think I made Y/N a little harsh on Luther but Luther made me mad during that episode and rewatching it made me mad at him again lol.
Warnings? Click here!
Then
You’ve had a few nights of heartbreak during your time in this house. But nothing hit harder than when Ben broke the news to you.
Luther and Allison’s well known secret was that they were infatuated with each other. You all saw it. They did a terrible job at hiding it.
Luther tried to mask it by pretending to be caring “older” brother but you and Vanya never got the same treatment.
Allison tried to claim it was because she viewed him as a leader or some bs like that but she never treated Diego like that. In fact, whenever Luther was upset with Diego or vice versa, Allison was always Team Luther.
In fact, you all poked fun at them behind their backs. Even though you and Ben had no room to talk. To be honest, you think that’s what ate away at him.
Granted, none of your siblings ever mocked you two. At least not your face. Maybe that’s the thought that plagued Ben. Sure, he had a much better relationship with Diego and Klaus than Luther and Allison did but still.
He didn’t even know if you thought about that. He never thought to ask you. Too afraid of what the answer would be. He never went out of his way to dim your light, for lack of a better phrase.
Reality is: you never thought about it. Well, that’s not true. You did and you approached Allison about it. She was embarrassed but she gave you the words of encouragement and you viewed her as a big sister so you took her words to heart.
It never occurred to you how Ben could’ve been feeling. Only after the night where he asked you to meet him in your special place to tell you that you shouldn’t keep chasing after a romantic relationship.
You couldn’t even be mad at him. Pragmatism was a part of his charm. He didn’t want to be mocked. He didn’t want you to be mocked. He was ashamed of that being his reasoning but you never held it against him…….too much.
You were still hurt. You still cried quietly in your room. You still thought it was unfair that Luther and Allison didn’t have enough apparent shame to stop when you had to.
But you tried seeing the bright side.
After all, you could still talk to him. Hang out with him. Play with him. Joke around with him. Pine for him. Sneak out with him. All of the fun stuff that you normally did with him and the others…..minus the pining.

When you all had returned home, you were disappointed to not find Vanya there. While your brothers argued, you ran to the phone to try and get a hold of her.
The long ringing only added to the anxiety that had a hold on you. You sat there with the phone against your ear, praying that you heard Vanya.
And you did. Just not in the way you wanted.
“You’ve reached Vanya Hargreeves, please leave a message and I’ll get back to you.”
BEEEP
“Hey, Vanya…I don’t know if you…if you’re ok but we found Leonard and…I don’t wanna assume the worst, I wanna hope that you’re ok. So please, if you get this, please call.”
Your peripheral caught Five entering the room and heading towards the bar.
“Or please come back home. It’s been too much going on and I would really like if you came home and were ok and we can just salvage what’s left of this family since the apocalypse isn’t an issue anymore……….I love you and Allison is alright, she’s gonna make it. I’m sure she’ll be happy to see you.”
You calmly hung up the phone just in time to pay attention to Five pouring himself a drink.
“Take a breather, Y/N. I’m sure she’ll turn up. Need a drink?”
“I literally cannot drink right now. I mean, how can you? We don’t know who killed Leonard and they could have Vanya or worse.”
“And do you have any leads on who would have gained something from killing Leonard?”
“…outside of us? No.”
“Do you know anywhere else Leonard could’ve taken Vanya?”
“No.”
“Are you mentally prepared with digging holes and potentially finding Vanya’s body in a shallow grave?”
“Jesus Christ, Five, what the fuck?”
Five casually walked over to you with a second glass in his hand. He passed it to you. “My point is: no leads, no actions. Drink.”
You cautiously took the drink, a bit caught off guard by Five’s current casual demeanor. “O…k.”
Five went back over to his stool, soaking in his disappointment next to his….girlfriend, Dolores. The two of you sat in silence for a moment before he spoke up.
“You think we averted the apocalypse, Y/N?”
You were surprised. You haven’t really been with him for most of his escapades concerning the apocalypse until the very end.
“I’m surprised you’re asking for my opinion.”
“Why not? You catch on pretty quickly to most stuff. So?”
“Well….not sure. If you say Harold Jenkins is the cause of the apocalypse and then he goes and dies…maybe that’s the end of that. On the other hand, what if his death was…meant to happen?”
“Meant to happen?”
“Yeah like…maybe the reason they needed Harold protected was because they needed him to die on a certain day. I mean…no other commission guys came to kill us…or you to be specific.”
“So what? Now it’s the calm before the storm?”
“No. It could be the calm before the storm. But it could also not be.”
There was a moment of silence before Five let out a defeated sigh. “Now we wait…” he muttered.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Five got up and went to answer the door. You couldn’t hear much of the conversation outside of hearing the word sister which prompted you to get up and see who was there only to be met with the sight of Five letting in a big man with a suit on.
The suit was familiar but the face was not.
“Who the hell is this, Five?”
Five motioned a finger between you and the man. “Y/N, Hazel. Hazel, Y/N.” And he walked on.
The man—Hazel—offered a polite but nervous smile, leaving you more confused.
“Hi??” You cautiously waved back.
“Last time we met my…ex-partner and I.”
“Shot up the place? Ohhhhhhh…..K.”
You walked into the living room and walked over to Five. Hazel casually followed suit.
“Five, why is he here?”
“I dunno…” Five swiveled around on the seat. “Why are you here, Hazel? Here to kill me?” He gestured in your direction. “And, by extension, my sister?”
“Me?”
“No witnesses.” Five responded casually.
“None of that.” Hazel replied. “I can understand why you might feel that way. There’s not much I can do about the past. I do wanna just mention that it is an honor to be talking to you. That job you did in Calhoun, that shit’s legendary—”
“Why are you here, Hazel?” Five repeated with a firmer tone.
“Well—” Hazel started to talk before you felt yourself being pulled back by Diego and witnessed him launch a kick into Hazel’s side, knocking him over.
“Diego, stop!” Five shouted, only to be ignored when Diego flipped over Hazel and kicked him in the face as the assassin tried to stand.
The two begin to fight each other.
“Diego, that’s enough!” You tried, only to be ignored as well.
Five casually fiddled with his straw. “You know, before you kill him, you might wanna hear what he has to say.”
Once the two were upright, Diego pulled out a knife. “I’m gonna kill you for what you did to Patch.”
“Or don’t. See how that goes.”
You let out a heavy sigh and stood next to Five watching the brutal scrap. Filled with stabs to the thigh, punches square to the face and Diego’s desperate attempts to knock over his bigger opponent.
It would be exciting if this all didn’t feel…exhausting to watch. Especially when you still had Vanya to look for.
Hazel wrapped Diego into a bear hug only for Diego to counter with a harsh bite to his ear, Hazel letting out a painful yell in response.
Five, deciding he had enough, blinked out of sight before appearing behind Diego and smashing a glass over his head, knocking him unconscious.
“I draw the line at biting.” Five stated as Hazel collected himself. “Hazel, whatever you came here to say, I suggest you make it quick…before he comes around.”
“I left my partner, quit the Commission, and came to volunteer.”
“For what?”
“To help stop the apocalypse. I have a vested interest in a doughnut shop.”
“Oh that…” You started. “Yeah, I don’t think that’s happening anymore.”
“What?” Hazel asked in disbelief.
“What she said. You’re a day late and a dollar short.”
“Meaning?”
“Meaning the fact that you’re here right now means, without a shadow of a doubt, that the apocalypse is over.”
“Really? How do you know?”
“The mark…is dead. Found him this morning. You were the last known unknown in the equation.”
Hazel let out a chuckle. “Shit. Really?”
You nodded. “Really.”
“And if you’re out, then Hellrider ain’t riding.”
“Oh…” Hazel let out a relieved but exhausted breath. All of the hype and resolve he built up just…gone but he was happy about that. “Alright!”
He walked over to the bar and took a drink of what was left in the blender. A deep sigh escaped from his body as you went back over to the phone, minding Diego as you did, and waited for a hopeful call from Vanya as Five and Hazel talked.
The only aspect of the conversation that caught your attention was when Five looked back at Diego and then at you.
“I guess I would have grown up to be an emotionally stunted man-child like everyone else around here.”
“I heard that.” You called out. “And I am NOT emotionally stunted, I’ve just got a few issues.”
“Stemming from what Y/N?” Five joked.
“……..shut up.”
“Well, there you go. Now you can grow up.” Hazel suggested before standing up. “Good luck.” Hazel was about to walk out of the room before Five called out to him.
“One more thing before you go.”
“Shoot.”
“Which one of you was the trigger man for Detective Patch?”
“Trigger woman.”
Five sighed. “That’s too bad. That gun would’ve cleared my brother’s name.”
“Well, today’s your lucky day, amigo.” Hazel then pulled two guns out of his back pockets and placed them on the bar. “Take’em both. I’m done with this life.”
The former Commission assassin then walked off out of the house.
“I’m gonna go to my room for a nap.” You spoke, before walking off.
——✨——
You probably would’ve been heartbroken to see the state Vanya was currently in. A shaken and traumatized state as she stared blankly at her violin. The previous events played vividly in her mind.
The way she killed Leonard. It only struck her how excessive it was afterwards. Maybe he deserved, yeah, but Vanya had never done something so…violent……
‘Allison…’ she thought.
All the while her messages played and it felt like mockery from the normal life she has undoubtedly left behind. The life where she was the only one of her siblings to not have powers.
The life where she felt more comfortable slumped in the shadows while everyone else shined. The life that was no more and she never thought she’d yearn for it so much.
She had thought she made peace with it before because she had seen the mental toll it had taken on the rest of you. How you all yearned for your father’s approval in your own ways and it grew into these monsters that held on tightly to all of you like leeches.
As if to make matters worse, the next voicemail was from Allison.
“Hey, Vanya, it’s me. I just wanted to…things have gotten so messed up. All I ever wanted was to be a good sister to you. Guess I pretty much failed at that. But you need to call me, okay? I love you sis.”
The sound of Allison’s next being sliced open by Vanya’s own hands playing on a punishing loop as she remembered the stunned look on her sister’s face, realizing what had happened to her.
The image had done a good job of seeing itself into her mind as Vanya chanted ‘I’m sorry’ over and over again, in a naive attempt to wish she could just turn back time.
“Next message.”
“Hey, Vanya…I don’t know if you…if you’re ok but we found Leonard and…I don’t wanna assume the worst, I wanna hope that you’re ok. So please, if you get this, please call. Or please come back home. It’s been too much going on and I would really like if you came home and were ok and we can just salvage what’s left of this family since the apocalypse isn’t an issue anymore……….I love you and Allison is alright, she’s gonna make it. I’m sure she’ll be happy to see you.”
Vanya looked back at the answering machine. While she didn’t want to admit to herself, a part of her shut down the voice that spoke down to her and replaced it with something else…there was hope.
Hope that she had not been completely excommunicated from her family. Hope that Allison can forgive her. Hope that this could all be casted aside as a bad dream.
Hope that she can come home into warm and welcoming arms.
In a terrible twist of fate, she’ll be both right and wrong.
——✨——
You were awoken from your nap with a rumble. Some trinkets and other decor rattled while others fell to their destruction. Dust being pulled from their corners and fluttering down like snow before everything stopped.
‘What the hell was that?’
You weren’t the only one who realized the mild earthquake was happening as Klaus exited his own room at the same time.
“Glowbug, you felt that too, right?”
“Yeah?”
Klaus let out an exhausted huff. “Something tells me we can’t ignore this.”
——✨——
Neither of you were prepared for the sight of Vanya locked away in a soundproof room under the house. She was in distress and this nagging feeling of Deja Vu coming from you was not helping the situation.
“You locked up our sister because you think she has powers?” Diego was in a state of disbelief.
He’s seen Luther make some stupid decisions but this took the cake.
Klaus had never thought ANY of his siblings would do something…like this.
And you?
Well, you were pissed.
“Luther, this isn’t funny. Let her out of there.”
He gave you a woeful look. “I can’t do that, Y/N.”
“Yes you can! She’s terrified!”
“Pogo told me.”
“And you don’t think he was lying?”
“Why would he lie about something like this?”
“He lied about knowing what happened to dad, clearly nothing’s off the table when it comes to him honoring dad’s fucked up wishes, Luther!”
Diego had surveyed the entire room. “Why would they hide something like this from us?”
“He hid so much from us.” Klaus let out.
“He hid it because he was afraid…of her.”
“Oh, that’s ridiculous.”
“Is it? Dad’s lied about everything else. Why is this so far-fetched?”
“If you’re right, then maybe she’s the one who killed Peabody.”
“And cut Allison’s throat.”
You rolled your eyes as Klaus chimed in. “Whoa, no. Let’s…I just—Sorry, just…let’s go back, all right? This is Vanya we’re talking about. Our sister! The one who always cried when we stepped on ants as kids.”
“Yeah, I know. I know it’s difficult to accept—”
“It’s not difficult to accept, it’s impossible to accept.” Klaus shouted.
“No, he’s right.” Diego backed Klaus up, turning back to Luther. “Look, we can’t keep her locked up without proof.”
Luther was shocked. “Wh-what more proof do you need?”
“Why don’t we just open the door and ask her?” Klaus suggested.
“Thank you!” You walked over to the door but were quickly stopped by Luther when he gently grabbed your arm.
“She’s not going anywhere.”
“No, even if you’re right, she needs our help, and we can’t do that if she’s locked in a cage.”
“Thank you!”
“Yeah, and for all we know, she might be struggling with this new power. I mean, it must be scary—terrifying—really to discover that you can do something that you never thought you could do.”
“Look, if what Pogo told me is even half true, then she is not just a danger to us…”
“If we help her, she’s not gonna be a danger to anyone!” You tried to get through to Luther.
Your eyes looked past Luther and everyone else followed your gaze, seeing Allison walking down the dim hall.
“Allison, what are you doing down here? You should be in bed.”
Allison scribbled on the notepad, “let her go”.
Luther shook his head. “I can’t do that. She hurt you.”
You sent a glare Luther’s way. ‘Is that really what all of this is about?’
Allison flipped to a new page, scribbling again, “my fault”
“I’m sorry but she’s staying put.”
Allison tried walking past him only to be stopped.
“Just until we know what we’re dealing with.”
She tried pushing past him again but she was stopped once more.
When everyone else saw that Luther was adamant about this and not keen on moving for anyone, not even Allison. They gave up. Klaus took hold of you and guided you along.
“Klaus—”
“Come on, we can sneak down here later when he’s not looking.” He whispered.
You glanced back watching Allison grow frustrated with Luther before turning away and walking with Klaus back up.
——✨——
There was heavy tension in the house. Allison wasn’t speaking to Luther, which meant that Luther was prowling around , keeping watch in the halls. He knew that you would try to sneak in whenever he wasn’t looking.
As evident when he caught you red-handed with a tray of food. He stood from your mother’s seat, shaking his head.
“No.”
“What? Is Vanya eating a danger to us all too?”
“I’m trying to protect us.”
“No, you’re trying to protect Allison.”
“I’m trying to protect all of us.”
“No, you’re not and I would appreciate it if you didn’t insult me by implying anything different. You didn’t even bother asking either of them what happened and you couldn’t even respect Allison in her decision.”
“Y/N—”
“Let me ask you something: if anyone else got their throat slit would you have cared this much?”
“Why do you always have to turn everything into an argument? Why do you always make everyone else the bad guy?”
You placed the tray down and pointed an accusing finger at him. “You see, that’s your problem. I don’t need to make you the bad guy. You’re doing a damn good job of it on your own. Dad lied to us about this, you think Vanya knew? Did you even ask her what happened? You know she probably didn’t even mean it. You’re making it worse by keeping her in there.”
“Y/N, what if it had been you? Think about Ben.”
You crossed your arms. “Don’t bring Ben into this.”
“You think if you were in Allison’s shoes, he would’ve been ok with Vanya…being just—”
“Vanya is not a monster. What gives you the right to act like she is?”
You had said those words without really thinking of the possible connotations. One that Luther picked up on as he stood tall.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” He asked.
Maybe in a better state of mind. You would’ve clarified but at the moment, you felt he didn’t deserve that. “You tell me.”
BOOM
The house shook with a fury as a muffled boom caught both of you off guard. You turned to Luther who had a look of terrified realization.
“Oh god…”
At first you thought maybe intruders until the thought hit you. “Vanya.”

i’m about to have a hater moment
basically i wanna write another umbrella academy fanfic. so obviously this got me thinking about the umbrella academy. and then this got me thinking about how they absolutely destroyed our girl allison. like they really said let’s have one of the very few poc characters we have on the show assault another character. and then they really had diego tell allison “i don’t think the rest of our (white) siblings really understood how hard it was for us in the 60s” without actually fucking showing us the hardships diego faced for being a man of color in the 60s. like what? they covered the civil rights movement which now that im thinking about it was probably just bc they had to like if they could get away w skipping it i 100% believe that they would. diego literally called grace Mom (bc that’s his Mom) and all grace did was smile at him funny and go “you have no fucking game.” like okay writers producers directors WHOEVER at the umbrella academy maybe if u wanted to show how hard it was for diego in the 60s u could have had grace go wayyy harder on him and had him kicked out of the party and then it’d be this whole thing as he and lila try to sneak back in but nooo apparently retconning everything was the way to go
this rant was also partly inspired by the stranger things controversy. like i had a whole long post about this that i deleted but i had literally never heard anyone talk about racism in this fandom (to this degree!) until argyle’s actor wasnt invited back onto s5. then all of a sudden posts that are like “lucas doesn’t have an actual developed storyline like the white characters” are getting SO many notes, and it’s good that they are bc more people are actually paying attention, but did it seriously take a comedic relief character that got randomly introduced in the latter half of the shows running to get yall to care about racism? and if anything the fact that argyle is the comedic relief best friend to the white main character who is high all the fucking time is racist in itself but whatever. that show had so much potential it’s such a shame s5 doesn’t exist
anyway i also made a reallyyy long post about the umbrella academy portion of the rant but now that the last season is so close (like months and months away) im lowkey hoping they actually do retcon that scene?? i mean allison and luther’s relationship in general is to showcase how these characters didn’t have a normal upbringing and the assault scene expanded on that but the aftermath was handled so poorly. “im sorry” “nah it’s ok don’t worry about it” guys i know we were in a time crunch but if ur gonna have something so heavy u can’t just fucking dismiss it like that. even ella enchanted had a scene where the prince was like “kiss me” “okay” “i’m not giving you an order… just a request” “i know.” like im fucking sorry but if ur gonna make allison go thru that sort of arc u need to do it right. but also i’m a very negative person (cringe) so take all my complaints with a grain of salt

TUA S3 thoughts - SPOILERS AHEAD
Gotta say that I’ve finished watching s3 like last week and it’s still the only thing I can think about. This fandom burst into my brain yet another time (along with my undying love for Robert Sheehan) and I wasn’t ready AT ALL. That being said, here’s some thoughts for this season because i have to share this somewhere so humour me
Again, big, huge spoilers ahead!!
Loved this season. If felt much more personal and emotional than s2, though I must say that for now nothing beats s1 mood.
I felt like the sparrow academy had a lot of potential, which has been exploited a bit but not completely. Marcus’ death was so sudden, and when also Jayme and Alphonso and Stan died, I really hoped TUA would somehow invert the damage and bring everyone back to life. Especially after what happened to Mr Pennycrumb. :(
Loved the dance scenes. There’s a dance scene in every season and I LOVE THAAATTT + bonus points for making the dance scene in e1 diego’s hidden wish lol
So I watched the whole season in Italian and I’ll definitely do a rewatch in English but when I’ve found an article stating that apparently Aidan spoke Italian when meeting Dolores I had to watch it because you don’t notice it in the Italian version!!! And it’s so cute!!!! I’m shocked!!!! I didn’t know Five pictured Dolores as Italian?? Are there other scenes like this that I don’t know of???? When did Five learn to speak Italian??? I LOVED THIS
I’ve read some criticism for this season because it has some nonsense scenes, plus a whole episode just about Luther and sloane’s wedding. I feel that, but I don’t agree - I loved those moments because we get to see more of these characters when they’re not trying to save the world. They’re carefree, and relaxed. We get to know their dance moves (not imagined by Diego this time), we get to see drunk Five (again) trying to give a speech to his brother, we have hugs, and warm words, and drunk Ben being the same old Ben again. So yeah I loved that, I’d watch an entire series of them just doing nothing
Still need to know the reason behind Christopher existence tho
Speaking of the wedding, I love Luther and Sloane!! Luther was a total himbo this season, and now I care so much about him. He changed a lot. At first I didn’t see his relationship with Sloane particularly well (c’mon, another sister??), but then she’s not really his sister like Allison was, was she? So it’s basically almost like Diego and Lila relationship
So yeah now LutherxSloan definitely beats AllisonxLuther
Before diving into S3 Allison rant, I’m gonna say that despite Lila is totally bonkers I love her and she and Diego are perfect for each other. Can’t wait for Dad!Diego!!!!
So yeah, Allison. I kinda hated her this season, but what she went through made me stop from totally hating her. Her siblings did kinda dismiss her pain, even if they were worried about her. Tho if it were Viktor in her place, probably everyone would have rushed to comfort him more than they ever did with Allison. Tho her pain doesn’t really justify what she did to Luther (such a dramatic scene, so painful to watch) and to Harlan. And what she said to Viktor. So yeah. It’s complicated. The fact that at the end of the season she has everything she ever wanted while the others have nothing………I think it’s gonna be a huge thing
And now let’s go to my beautiful, beautiful Klaus!!!!! I LOVED HIM SM this season omg. How he was so resolute to find his mom and what happened to her, and how he wanted to help reggie so much!!! Despite everything!!! He could have gladly abandoned him after everything he did to him (and maybe he should have)
I love his powers and can’t wait to see what else he can do
I was absolutely destroyed by the fact that despite his numerous trips to the other side, there was not a trace of Dave. That would mean he’s alive maybe??? but it’s a Dave that hasn’t really known Klaus and that hasn’t fallen in love with him. Their story is so dramatic and I LOVE IT AND THEM and I really, really hope they have an happy ending in s4 and the writers don’t totally dismiss them because otherwise what was the meaning of s2????
We only got a small whisper from Klaus when he came back from the dead for the first time. A small, anguished “Dave” + klaus clutching the metal tags. That’s it. That’s all we got this season. I’m starving.
Tho again, I loved how Klaus’ focus for this season was his family rather than his lover. We got to know him more in depth and his relationship with his father and the fear of his powers and all that so yeah I can accept this. Still I hoped until the very end to get a crumble of Klave :(
There are many other things but I need a rewatch!! Let me know if you guys have theories!!! I need more theories for s4 otherwise I’d make some myself and no one is gonna like that and I don’t have the energy to come up with some sense for this season lol

(Part 2) Do you know what I want the plot of S4 to be about...? – The Building Up…
This is a continuation of “Do you know what I want the plot of S4 to be about…? -The Start…"
In the previous post, I mentioned that I wanted Season 4 to start in two timelines, one; flashbacks to when they first arrived to this new world, and two; a time jump of a few years that shows the Hargreeves and Lila already settled in this new world.
So this post is more about world building and potential conflicts.
Tumblr media
The World: Since this is a new world/timeline thanks to Reginald's work in Oblivion... I think it would be a perfect way to introduce a more accurate version of the comic book world. What do I mean? I mean a more technological world, I really like the fact that there are no smartphones in this world and I’d prefer that they keep it that way... but I would love to see the Televator, The Levitator and, of course, the reason why Reginald won the Nobel Prize, his work on chimpanzee cerebral advancement... not only in Pogo but many other chimpanzees like in the comics... imagine the Umbrellas walking into a store for the first time and they see a chimpanzee behind the cash register and they think it's Pogo but it's not... actually it's very common to have talking chimpanzees around...
I'm not sure I want to see vampires like in the comics because unless they have a really good explanation for them, it could be pretty wacky even for TUA.
Tumblr media
The Conflicts: This I think would be the most difficult part, because it is the last season and they need to give closure to each of the characters as well as to the whole team/family.
But I think the best way to do it is to give each character a separate (internal) conflict that they have to deal with during the season. And then there's a huge conflict (external) for the whole team to deal with, simultaneously.
In the previous seasons they did this quite well, especially in S1 where each sibling had to deal with their own personal issues...
Luther with the death of his father and his conflict over being number one. Diego with Patch's death and having to work with his siblings as a team again. Allison with her relationships with Claire and Viktor (Plus Luther). Klaus with his addictions and traumas and powers. Five with coming back from the future and trying to stop the apocalypse and the Commission. Ben being dead and struggling to help Klaus and his siblings. And Viktor being the outsider, discovering his powers and Leonard.
And aside, the major conflict: The Apocalypse.
Tumblr media
I don't think they'll pick an Apocalypse again for the main conflict this season. So maybe the big conflict would be Reginald. Stopping him, or getting their powers back.
Each character could have an internal conflict that they have to deal with and it's not that difficult because they all have some problem or trauma that they haven't completely healed...
Luther could finally deal with the fact that Allison assaulted him, having lost Sloane, and the fact that Reginald killed him. Diego could deal with being a father, a good one, or maybe deal with the loss of the baby (since we don't know what changed by resetting the world). Lila could also deal with those same things, and also the fact that she struggles to have a normal life where there is no mission, no time travel. Klaus, I feel like he might be conflicted with Reginald's betrayal, with him losing his powers after he finally mastered them, and the fact that he's no longer immortal. He might have a hard time not being able to reach the Void again. Viktor, I think is also a character who didn't have time to deal with the bad things that happened to him in S3, like losing Harlan and Allison's betrayal. I don't think he minds not having powers. Ben, his conflict would be the fact that he doesn't have powers anymore, there's nothing in his eyes that makes him special and he might struggle with the fact that he's the only Sparrow left. The family he grew up with is gone. And Reginald doesn't care about him. I have a theory that Umbrella Ben somehow returns but through Sparrow Ben. So both of them are struggling inside of one body.
Allison seems to be the only one in the end that got what she wanted but I don't think she got her happy ending, I think whatever deal she made with Reginald is going to come back to bite her in the ass and I think her internal conflict would be trying to block all the memories of what she did during S3 and eventually breaking down, and all of those things would affect her relationship with Ray and Claire.
I feel like if they want to keep the show's tradition about the Apocalypse, I'd really love for one of the siblings to cause an apocalypse on purpose, just out of pettiness, to ruin Reginald's world, and I really hope it's Klaus. Or even Five, that would be ironic.
Tumblr media
But when/where does the Building Up for the conflict begin? Since it is S4. I think it should be with Number Four. Klaus
As I said in the last post, everyone seems to be settled into the new timeline. It's not such a bad world, it's different, but what can the Umbrella Academy do? No more powers...no more Commission...no more time travel... and no more Apocalypse... there is no reason or way for them to try to change this timeline (yet) But just because it's a different reality doesn't mean they've changed too. So they still have the same traumas, the same problems.
And none more than Klaus. The events of the previous seasons had built up on him and he finally breaks. Ben's second death. Dave's death. The vietnam war. The cult. The powers. The Void. Reginald. And his addictions.
As he usually does, he pretends that he's fine, like the rest of his siblings, no one wants to deal with his shit, he thinks, they're all dealing with something, like Luther or Five. And even the others who seem to be doing better, like Viktor, Diego and Lila. And Allison wherever she is with her family. And Ben has gone to Korea. So he's on his own, he's depressed and he relapses. And then he dies...
And now The Umbrella Academy has to deal with the loss of another brother. Again... except this time there's nothing to do. Klaus is dead. No way to bring it back, no rewind time... ironically there isn't even a ghost to haunt them... Viktor thinks they should try to find Allison, tell her about Klaus’ death, see if she wants to go to the funeral. But they can't find her. So they have a funeral, they mourn Klaus. And then they try to move on. But they can’t. Luther is angry about losing another person he loves, he blames himself just like Diego does to himself. Five is secretly trying to find a way to go back in time, trying to figure out how he founded the Commission in the first place, how to make a briefcase. Lila tries to help him without Diego noticing, just in case they fail. And sadly none of them remember to tell Ben. Who is at the other side of the world... doing God knows what... (hopefully something important for the main plot regarding Reginald or the powers)
Meanwhile, in the Void. Klaus arrives at a desert land. He seems happy at first, relieved. But this time it is different, there is something different, he feels disconnected. And then he feels abandoned and alone. he misses his siblings. and for some reason the girl on the bike doesn't show up to send him back. So he walks and walks... until he finds himself in front of a building... Strangely, it looks a lot like the Hotel Obsidian... or Hotel Oblivion... And upon entering, he notices a long line... very long line to register... When he asks what the line is for. Someone tells him that he needs to tell them his name so that they can decide where he is going to stay for the rest of his death. In heaven or hell... Klaus thinks while looking at the long line of dead people, at least there is enough time for his siblings to find him and bring him back.
Meanwhile, in the Living World, Sir Reginald Hargreeves arrives at the place where Klaus was buried, and orders some of his men to start digging.
Tumblr media
I took some inspiration from Klaus Comic (You Look Like Death)
Since every season is about an obsession, Luther and the Moon, Diego and JFK, Allison and her daughter. I think it would be great if instead of Klaus being obssessed by something (since he usually is, S1 - Drugs, S2 - Dave, S3 - Reginald and Powers) that the other characters are obssessed about getting Klaus back.
Maybe Reginald does. Maybe that’s how Klaus gets his powers back.
(Let me know what you think...)

i think the tragedy of allison and her relationship with victor was pretty compelling, and i don’t necessarily hate at least the idea of the turn she took this season. that said, i think there were some pretty large misses regarding her. spoilers below and TW FOR DISCUSSION OF SEXUAL ASSAULT
first and foremost, i think that scene with luther should have been taken out. the point being made, that she was spiraling, and losing herself, and lashing out without care about how it affected the people around her, could have VERY EASILY been made without her sexually assaulting one of her siblings. it also wasn’t handled with the weight that it should have had, it’s just like ‘ahh you tried to mindcontrol me into having sex with you explicitly against my will. that’s mean of you. u good tho?’ and then they just move on. just don't linger on it. not addressed again. like whoa whoa whoa go back what? its such a random thing that changes the tone so much it’s crazy like bro TAKE IT OUT…?
as a preface before i get into the real in depth analysis, a lot of my issue really comes from the fact that everything before episode 8 is essentially meaningless, and also that character choices don’t really influence the plot all that much, making a lot of character arcs fall kinda flat. i like the idea of allison snapping and lashing out after everything that’s happened to her, and it’s a good parallel that the person she lashes out at the most is victor, given that in season one, their positions were the same in reverse. however, the way it was done was really sloppy, and just felt like…nothing.
so. in a sense, it is refreshing to see her finally snap after everything she’s been through. in season one, she lost everything and everyone she had every known or cared about, including her daughter, came very close to death multiple times, mainly at the hands of someone she loved, and was then transported into the 60s. as a black woman. the 60s. i honestly feel like the trauma of that wasn’t discussed enough this season, even though it was discussed. like that should be fucking huge. at the end of season 2, she says goodbye to the life she’d established and her husband with the belief that she’ll be able to see her daughter, only to find out that her daughter no longer exists and there’s an apocalypse happening for the third time. at this point, her only real tether is with victor, who she’s fought for and stood by the entire time, despite what he personally has done to her (he did slit her throat and end the world. like i dont think he’s really to blame but at the same time… he slit her throat and ended the world, okay? like that’s a lot but she still stood by him!), only to find out that his actions inadvertently caused her daughter to not exist as well as the apocalypse, for the third time in a row (and he never means to cause the apocalypse, but. three times bro. cmon), and that victor lied to her and protected the perpetrator. i think its an interesting switch for the character, because up until this point, she has really been the one who’s wronged victor, and shes the one that needs to apologize to him. in this season, victor is the one in the wrong. however, he’s also in the right. its not victors fault that harlan killed their mothers, because he couldn't have known that his powers stuck around. it’s not harlan’s fault, because he didn’t ask for these powers, he was never taught to control them, and he didn’t do anything on purpose. he didn't deserve to die for what he did, and victor was right to protect him, but i also understand allison wanting to kill him, both because of what he did and how victor in her eyes betrayed her. the main plot that accompanied that though went absolutely nowhere. like they needed harlan dead so the sparrows would let them go to their house and help seal up the kugelblitz, but it didn’t work and they were back in the same position they started. i think that without the sparrows demanding harlan’s death, allison killing him would have been more impactful, because she killed a man who didn’t truly deserve to die, for no purpose, accomplishing nothing.
it’s one of the more interesting plots, but honestly but compared to season one (where allison had wronged victor and defended him/wanted to make up), which is a mirror version of their season three relationship, it’s much less consequential. in season one, allison’s love, regret, and remorse (deserved or not… personally i didn’t blame allison i blamed REGINALD) moved her arc and the plot along, and victor’s resentment of her (as well as his love, despite that resentment) of course did the same. in this season, though the set up is similar, the pay off is much worse. in season one, allison attempting to apologize leads to her throat getting cut, which leads to victor getting locking in the cage, which leads to him causing the apocalypse, but his love for allison (and regret for unintentionally hurting her) leads to him allowing her to approach him with a gun, leading to the rest of the umbrella academy being able to escape the timeline. if that whole arc of tragedy and love hadn’t happened, victor would have killed all of them and the world and story would just be over. the entire story hinges on their relationship. it has depth and weight and consequences, goddamn it!
in season three, allison resents victor, and victor is ultimately remorseful, though it’s more complicated than that. for most of the season, that has no consequences, allison doesn’t really make any actions of note. like the three actions that result from her and victor fighting are her killing harlan, her making a deal with reginald, and victor allowing her to press the reset button. inbetween, she doesn’t really do anything, she just sulks around corners and makes bitchy comments. the only choice of note was killing harlan, and she probably would have done that anyways even if victor straight up wasn’t involved and didn’t know, because harlan’s the reason her daughter doesn’t exist and the world is ending again. also, her killing harlan does nothing for the larger plot, because they come up with a solution to the apocalypse that randomly works and then randomly fails and then they’re back in the same position they started. her deciding to kill a man who doesn’t deserve it for no purpose could’ve compellingly illustrated her descent into darkness. as it is, the only purpose it ends up serving is hurting victor, which is like, okay… but at the same time… like, okay? i think it would have been better if she killed harlan not because it hurt victor, but in spite of it. like maybe victor and allison found out that harlan killed their mothers at the same time, and allison killed him in rage and grief before victor could stop her. it would parallel allison and victor remembering together that reginald directed allison to brainwash victor into forgetting his powers in season one, which caused victor to lash out at allison who didn’t truly deserve it. victor was lashing out in reaction to his own pain without care of how it would affect her, and allison is lashing out in reaction to her own pain without care about how it would affect him. the difference is that victor was lashing out in general and allison would be specifically lashing out at harlan, but they are different people in different circumstances.
next, her making a deal with reginald could have happened without killing harlan or feuding with victor, because returning to her daughter and/or her husband are her drives, and she has been losing hope in that possibility the whole season. reginald was literally the ONLY OPTION. the other option was to sit there and die. not to mention, i imagine that the deal was that allison would convince her siblings to go into hotel oblivion, and reginald would give her some control over the timeline made by the reset, but… she didn’t convince them? she literally tried and failed. like she hugged victor and pretended to forgive him in order to convince him to say yes but he literally still said no. what convinced them was luther dying. really, it would kind of be more interesting if allison, at her lowest moment and the end of her rope, killed luther to get them to go in, knowing that he would be resurrected in the reset timeline or not. even if she didn’t know that, could you really blame her? it was kill her brother or let the universe be destroyed. come the fuck on. given that victor has almost ended the universe twice and he’s fine, i think they could forgive allison for TEMPORARILY killing someone a few minutes before their certain death like when they found the body it was immediately go time the hotel started being consumed. what would luther be losing. anyways as it is she… didn’t really do anything there. i also don’t understand why reginald honored his end of the bargain, considering that she failed on hers.
when victor chooses to trust her and not stop her from pressing the reset button even though it was and can kill everyone, that parallels season one, where she chose to trust/forgive him and knock him out instead of killing him, even though he was dangerous to both her and the entire world. but, again, i don’t think that needed harlan’s death or victor and allison to fight to happen. ike i get that it’s supposed to make it deeper, because allison and victor were at odds over harlan, and victor proved that he loved her, forgave her, and trusted her despite that, but they would have been at odds regardless because the reset machine was agonizingly killing all of them! it would have been better if allison was aware that the reset machine would drain their life forces, and put them in that position anyways, but at the last second changed her mind and chose her family over what she’d lost. then victor, seeing that the machine was ready, would press the button. allison is choosing to sacrifice everything for her family and victor, and victor is doing the same for her. that would parallel the first season so much more, where they both mutually had to trust each other and put their lives in the other’s hands. allison was aware that choosing to knock victor out instead of killing him could cause the apocalypse, and victor allowed her to approach him with a gun. it’s about trust. it’s about sacrifice. i don’t know. SOMEONE MAKE SOME FUCKING MEANINGFUL DESCISIONS.
ultimately, the reason that you can sympathize and root for both allison and victor in season one is because they dont just whine and bitch at each other, and no matter how badly they hurt each other, it wasn’t on purpose. what makes allison so unbearable this season is that she is in fact doing things with the intention of causing harm, and there’s a lot of empty space where she isn’t doing anything or making any choices, so she’s just like there being rude lmfao. i think it would have been better if allison’s decisions were either made with the intention of fulfilling her goal (getting back to raymond and claire) or in a blind reaction to a sudden emotion, and any harm that she caused in the process was a side action that she first ignored, before finally coming to regret, as victor did. the worst thing was definitely her sexually assulting luther. like that was just… my god. that was horrible. like no one can really sympathize after that. for what they were going for it’s truly awful writing.
TL;DR: the writing on this season was shitass

have we seen allison kill anyone in this version of the timeline?  she exploded some dude’s heads in the alternate timeline five saw back when he first hit the sixties, but has she killed anyone else?
actually.... there’s something interesting about how the umbrellas treat death.  i don’t exactly know how to articulate it, but...
...you would think diego would have no compunction killing, and he’s definitely got the powers for it, but i’m pretty sure he just beat up and zip tied the bad guys when he was doing his vigilante thing.  he has a certain code of honor to him, and only calls for someone’s death when they’ve gone and killed someone he cares about.  it’s kind of the same with luther--he can hurt people very badly with his power but he seems to hold himself back a lot, and i can’t remember any significant kills he’s made.
umbrella ben, meanwhile, was taught to kill from a young age.  he was used as a tool for extrajudicial execution, and he never liked it but he didn’t put up a huge fuss against it.  the interesting thing is that sparrow ben has A LOT more control over his powers and is very much capable of NOT ripping people to shreds if he so chooses.  i have no idea if it’s just how he grew up this time around or if there’s something else to it, but... i don’t think we’ve seen sparrow ben kill anyone yet as of ep 6, while umbrella ben (”the best of us”) has killed... a LOT.
five has easily killed the most people on screen aside from maybe vanya, but he always does it with a purpose, and it’s almost ALWAYS commission agents or board members.  we did see some of his hits if i’m remembering right, but it was always about the puzzle for him, a means to an end.  his powers aren’t offensive--they’re incredibly defensive, and he excels at using them as such.
viktor has bursts of emotion, times when his powers almost seem to control him more than he controls them.  i think it was very telling that harlan did the same when he had those powers.  viktor.... he kind of just... doesn’t kill, except when he does, and the only difference is that when he does he’s reached a point where he either can’t or won’t control his powers.  it’s an incredibly emotionally based response.
klaus CAN fight but more often than not simply chooses not to.  i think he might be the only one who has never even gotten close to killing someone (even in wartime, like... we never saw him with a confirmed kill even in the vietnam war)--and i can imagine why.  it would SUCK to have the ghost of some guy you killed now following you around for the rest of your goddamn life.  dude deals with enough death.
and then you get to allison, and... her power is easily the best suited to diplomacy, but she’s VERY good at using it offensively, even vindictively.  i find her fascinating because i don’t think she’s a good person, but up until this season we saw her TRYING to be.  it’s not her natural state to think of other people and their struggles, but she was sincerely trying, and she was doing pretty good at it.  but she’s backsliding like hell right now and that means that her sense of compassion has gone out the window.  she can’t see harlan’s personhood beyond her own pain and suffering--can’t see how lonely luther has been for most of his life, can’t force herself to care about any of her siblings except maybe viktor, and as of episode six, well... i don’t have high hopes for that one.
it makes me think.  like, we saw diego at his worst, when he was trying to kill cha cha because of what she did to eudora.  we saw klaus at his worst, after dave, when he was flip-flopping between getting high to numb the pain and sobering up just for a chance to summon him again.  we saw luther in a bad spot after he learned that he’d gone to the moon and been utterly, utterly alone for four years for no good reason.  and none of them.... none of them were vindictive like allison.  viktor is the only one who might have a claim to that same sort of vindictiveness--the apocalypse suite has vibes like that.  that... pleasure in letting his powers go and forcing his control over anyone in his path.
i just... i wonder how much allison’s power has shaped her.  and i wonder how much of her shaped her power.  like on the one hand... it’s no WONDER she is the way she is, with a power like that.  but how much different could she have been if she didn’t have it?  it’s a question for the ages.

You're Fucking Pathetic Part 2| The Umbrella Academy FF
A/N: I am so sorry this took me so long to write I honestly couldn't come up with ANYTHING. But, after some hours of procrastination and some coffee up my ass I finished! =] ALSO, I ended it off in a way that's much easier for me to continue, plus I have an Idea for a part three so stay tuned for that!
warnings: MAJOR SPOILERS FOR TUA SEASONS 3, swearing, mentions drugs, death, (if you guys have any other tw's I need to add, pls let me know!)
part 1 | next part (coming soon)
After that argument you left everything tense.
As you should.
You walked around the house looking for Viktor, worried he’s hating himself right now. Honestly if you could whoop Allisons ass right now you would but checking in on Viktor was more important. You walked along the halls, tracing your hand along the wall, reminiscing about the old times. You and Diego reading books to help with his stutter. You and Klaus and Ben having random ass dance parties. You and Allison and Viktor gossiping/venting about boys that try and talk to you all the time. You and Five jumping through time together. You and Luther watching movies late at night even though you had training in the morning.
You pass Ben's old room and see Viktor laying down with Harlan’s recorder on. You also hear Ben.
“Have you been waiting for someone to come chase after you this whole time?” He asked.
“Wow! That’s so embarrassing.”
“It’s official. Our Ben was better.” Viktor says.
“Yes. Yes he was. Especially because he knew when to shut the fuck up. Why don’t you take note?” You say flipping Ben off.
“Ouch.” he says and walks out of the room.
“Hey…Are you doing okay?” You say sitting next to Viktor.
“Y/n….You know I didn’t mean to end the world right? O-Or do anything Allison is blaming me for?”
“Of course Viktor! Had we been honest about your abilities from the beginning and had father been patient with you then none of this would have happened.” You place your hand on his back, “Even when you wrote that book, everyone was mad for what? Because you told the truth? Told the world we weren't the perfect family they thought we were? I mean this with good intentions. I never cared about that book. You were outcasted all your life, ignored even by the people you called family. That book? Was your story. And I’m sorry they ignored that.”
Viktor laughs lightly.
“Thanks y/n/n. You know, even though you were never really adopted into our family, I'm glad you became my sister.” He smiles softly at you bringing you into a warm embrace.
“I hated myself for so long. I hated you all for so long, and when my powers exploded I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know I would cause the end of the world… Allison blames me for destroying Claire but if it was up to me I wouldn’t have taken her from her child and she knows that.” Viktor sighs heavily.
“Vik, I get it. I love you and you are an amazing human now. When I told you back in ‘63 that I forgave you, that's what I meant.” You say hugging him for one last time.
“Thank you. Before you and everyone else forgave me…I-I almost…”
“Hey, hey, hey. I love you okay?” You say looking into his eyes
“Now, wanna help save the world?”
“Do I have a choice?” Viktor says walking out of the room.
You guys head down to the basement and walk down to see the Kugleblitz. It was the first time you ever saw it because according to your “older” siblings you were too fragile and small to be around something so massive and destructive. You didn’t mean any harm but you were more afraid of Viktor on his good days than you were that ball of lighting. You and Viktor enter the basement to find everyone standing around the ball of lighting. Five standing a little too close for comfort.
“Five, you’re scaring me.” You say beckoning him to your side. He sees that you are worried and steps back. You take a hold of his hand, not on no Allison and Luther stuff but the last time you let him go he slipped away for 15 years so, apologies if you are a little attached.
“Okay, how do we start?” Viktor says.
“Have you ever moved a nest of bees?” Sloane asks the group.
“No, because that’s weird…” Lila replies.
“You can’t just pick it up.” Sloane says, “You have to keep the nest calm while you build the box around it, and then you trap it.”
Allison is standing near you, with Five on the other side of you. You pull him to switch hands so that he stands in between you and Allison. He looks between you two then whispers in your ear.
“You’re being childish. Is this really what you wanna do while we are face to face with impending doom?”
“I’ll forgive her when I'm dead.” You say turning forward again.
“ Don’t say that.” He retorts, clearly not laughing.
“Sorry, force of habit?”
You weren’t really paying attention to the rest of the directions honestly because something else caught your attention. Footsteps. Who could it have been? Reginald wasn’t home and from what you could tell Grace was nowhere near the basement. It didn’t sit right with you.
“You didn’t tell me you were building a prison for God.” Grace says.
You look over and she is coming down the steps dressed as a nun holding a flamethrower.
“What the actual fuck?” You whisper under your breath to Five.
“Mom?” Diego says, looking at her.
“You have no right to do that.” She continues.
“We’re a little busy here Grace.” Luther yells.
“The day of vengeance was in my heart”
“What are you talking about?” Diego questions as he gets closer to her.
“And my year of redemption hath come.” Grace says.
Before you could react you see flames charging at you. Diego and Luther Jump out of the way but before you could move the flames catch your left sleeve on fire. You fall to the ground patting the fire out. As you lift your head you see everyone in a panic backing away from Grace but also worried about what would happen to Sloane and the others working on the Kugleblitz. You see Five running past you and pull him down to you.
“Okay I think I have a plan!” You yell over everyone so that he can hear.
“Is your arm okay???? Let me see it!” He says reaching for you.
“I’m fine! We don’t have that much time! You go and blip behind her and blip her upstairs after I charge her up with enough electricity to neutralize her!”
He nods his head and blips behind her. You stand up and give everyone a reassuring nod. You close your eyes and take a deep breath, channel all the anger you feel towards Allison, all the sadness you feel from the death of Harlan. You feel the ground rumble and feel the electricity course through your veins and you guide it through your fingertips shooting it at Grace.
“Go!” You yell at Five and he blips her away.
After she was taken care of you guys finished the job and then went upstairs to celebrate.
It was great. Besides Allison brooding in the corner everyone was drinking, dancing, and having fun. You however, weren’t big on drinking but you did have a blunt rolled up so you lit it and started smoking. You could see Allisons face turn up at your actions. Allison was never a big fan of you smoking weed, especially after you got high before a mission and ended up “harming” a citizen. By harm, Allison meant she wasn’t the one to rescue them so when you brought them back with rope burn and a few cuts she used that as an excuse to get you benched from any missions until father said so.
“Y/n, if you’re gonna smoke take it the fuck outside. It stinks.” Allison says from across the room.
You look at her and because you just saved the world you decided not to fuss.
“Is smoking bothering anyone else? If so, I'll put it out.” You say taking a long puff before blowing it out of your nose.
Everyone shakes their heads no before going back to their activities.
You smirk at Allison and turn to Viktor, “You wanna try?”
Viktor turns pale, “Y/n! You know I don’t smoke!”
You chuckle lightly, teasing him is so fun.
Before you could blink you saw Fei going to clink her glass with Christopher. Oh no. You knew that if disturbed with a different vibration than its own the Kugleblitz would react and destroy everything getting worse. You go to stand and call her name but you’re too late. You watch as Christopher starts to shake and Fei and Ben start to back up. Next thing you know you feel a Kugleblitz wave flow through your body and knock you over. When you look up Chris and Fei are gone….
There is no time to be sad as you watch the Kugleblitz get bigger and bigger.
Shit.

2 am thoughts about The Umbrella Academy season 3, because I literally just finished it
I had no idea what to expect starting it tbh. I wasn’t disappointed. This season was just as weird and fun as the two previous ones. I did however think it was really slow in the beginning. It didn’t have to be 10 episodes. 8 episodes would for sure have been enough.
The plot of them having to save the world somehow doesn’t get boring. Like you would expect it to get boring, but there’s just so much plot aside from that, so I don’t mind that plotpoint being the same again and again.
Kind of disappointed how almost all of the Sparrows just died. That was surprising to me. I expected them to have a bigger role in everything. Also their siblings didn’t even really care that they died? Like what?
I am still very very confused about the dad, but he has to be a cockroach cause he just. won’t. freaking. die. Please just die once and for all old man..
Five. I liked Five a lot this season. The previous seasons I was kind of over him being all arrogant and stuff, but he was much more likeable this season for sure. I know that the whole point of season one was him wanting to save the world, because he saw everyone from his family die, but even then it didn’t really feel like he cared much about them tbh. This season however, it definitely felt like he cared way more. It was very nice to see. Also get the guy a vacation damn. No wonder he was tired of trying to save the world. I would be too, that’s for sure.
Luther. I was the biggest Luther hater in season one, but he was definitely one of my favourites this season. We love a good himbo! Also lowkey obsessed with how he falls in love like instantly. Like the world is literally ending around you, but let’s have a wedding, cause why not. I love that LMAO.
Klaus. Love Klaus. Like how can you not tbh? I wasn’t expecting him to turn out to be immortal, but I guess it made sense. I feel bad for him, cause he just wanted to be loved by their dad, but instead he gets experienced on and betrayed. He deserves a better parent figure!! He just wanted to find his mom and be happy, yet that couldn’t happen. A little disappointed he didn’t really get to do much of his ghost thing this season. ALSO WHEN WILL PEOPLE LISTEN TO HIM. I swear he always has some important information, but nobody listens cause he’s Klaus..
Diego. Love the dad vibes. I didn’t expect it, but it was kind of one of my favourite things about this season. Can we get a spin-off of just Diego being a dad? But the child has to be Stanley. Stanley was literally so funny? He pretended to be Diego’s son and then accidentally killed his pretend uncle? And he was just going to disolve the body without telling anyone? Absolute chaos, but I loved it. Also love how protective Diego got, when he found out he was actually going to be a dad. Love that for him.
Ben. I didn’t like him at the beginning of the season (but I’m pretty sure that was the point so...) but he definitely grew on me. It was cool seeing him actually using his power. Kind of miss the old Ben tho. Also miss the Ben and Klaus moments from the other seasons... Also very curious about what the Jennifer story is? Did I miss it or did they actually never tell us?
Allison. ... I did not vibe with Allison this season. I get that she’s grieving, and of course she’s allowed to do that. But did she really have to be so mean? Like it wasn’t even the “I’m sad so I’m going to be a bit snappy with people” kind. This was just unnecessary rudeness? Not to mention she was going to sexually assault Luther? Like what was that? Was the really necessary? I don’t mind a good villian arch, but this wasn’t a good one. She just blamed everyone but herself for her loss. It also just seemed out of character for her? From season one she was always nice to Viktor. Even when he cut her throat and almost killed her, she didn’t blame him. That trust and understanding was just thrown out the window, like what even. I’m not vibing with her blaming Viktor for everything as if she didn’t have a part in the world ending too. They were literally all partly to blame, but sure, blame your brother who has enough childhood trauma for all of you.
Viktor. Absolutely love how everyone was just like “oh you’re Viktor now? Great good for you. We accept and respect that”. AND IT DIDN’T BECOME THE WHOLE CHARACTER. Like usually when there’s trans representation (or any lgbt+ representation in general tbh) it becomes their whole character, and the only characteristic of said character, and I am just so damn happy that that didn’t happen here. Love that. Just this makes The Umbrella Academy superior tbh. ANYWAS back to Viktor. I honestly felt bad for him. The season started with all of them supporting him and loving him (which was great, definitely what he deserves) but then everyone just kind of turned on him, calling him selfish and stuff? But all he did was literally just try to right his wrongs. I love Viktor and he didn’t deserve what was thrown at him. As if he didn’t only find out he had powers like a year (was it even a year? I don’t remember how long he was in the past for) ago, and it’s not like you all treated him like an outcast all of his life either, right? Oh wait, that did happen. I don’t think he was being selfish, but even if he was, I actually think he had some right to be. Give him a break and let him be for a second, would you? thank you.
Anyways I enjoyed this season. Liked some things more than others tho, but overall I liked it!

What do you hope the writers do with Allison's arc next season? Ngl s4 broke my heart because it really felt like she was separate from her siblings. She was at such a low point and just feeling so much anger and grief. It was hard to watch even though Emmy was phenomenal.
I love this question! See, the thing with my views on Allison is that they tend to be sort of separated from the general plot of the show. By this I mean that what I’ve always been the most interested by are the parts of her life that we’ve never gotten to see…her life pre-canon, her time in the 60’s, and now – what happens after she reunites the with Claire and Ray.
I hope they explore the topic of emotional dependency and bodily autonomy with her. You know, have her question her own morality and what it means to be good and bad – if those are even concepts that exist. It’s different with her siblings because of how all of them were raised, but when paired with someone like Ray – who is such a beacon of justice and a believer in doing what’s right, I feel like that could be something she struggles with. I want them to explore her relationship with Claire. Has been away from her for so long made her view parenting through rose-colored glasses? She hasn’t parented Claire in YEARS and even when she was married to Patrick, what she did wasn’t really parenting either.
Mostly, I just want her arc in S4 to be about self-growth. Does she owe some of her siblings apologies? Yeah. Mainly to Viktor for the whole Harlan thing and Luther for violating his autonomy. The Hargreeves have all done TERRIBLE things to each other, Allison isn’t an outlier here. At least in the first episodes of the season, I want her to be sort of in her own little world with Ray and Claire. A picture perfect family (tho you can still see the fractures in that illusion in some instances). But I want the main focus to be on her relationship with her siblings. Maybe she goes to find them after hitting a low point with Ray and Claire (possibly after using her powers on Claire again and Ray catching her? So she feels like she’s stuck repeating the same mistakes all her life)
From what I can gather, Reginald and Abigail are gonna be key players, so have her join forces with her siblings. Have them learn how to PROPERLY be a team. Have Allison try to fix those bridges she burned. Even in S3, she still has kindness left in her, she’s just….really struggling. Have her express that. Give her a scene with Five where they discuss the deal she made with Reginald where it ISN’T just him pointing fingers and her getting defensive. Remember, Five made a deal too (the difference came down to the way they were portrayed but no I’m not bitter why do you ask). Everything he’s done is for his family. He UNDERSTANDS the lengths people will go to for the ones they love. Have them FINALLY team up and reach some sort of understanding
On another note: her powers! I don’t think she’s still figured out which lines are okay to cross and which aren’t – so have her explore that. Through Claire and Luther, have her evaluate WHY it’s wrong to use them on the people she loves. The Hargreeves aren’t saints and they’ll always make mistakes, but deep down I DO think they want to do good – they just get a little lost along the way. And it’s important to remember that Allison didn’t get Ray and Claire back by being “good”. If she does make the decision to better herself, I want her to do it for HER. Yes, she absolutely wants to be an amazing mother to Claire, but she needs to realize that this isn’t something she should only do for the sake of other people
And this is totally self-indulgent but I want the show to end with her getting her purple hair from the comics! Idk! Let it be a metaphor for how she’s working on moving forward after spending so much time stuck in the past. At the very least let her have a hopeful ending, she deserves that much
Anyway, if it wasn’t already obvious, I care so much more about the characters than the plot so sorry that barely any of this includes actual… y’know. plot things lol. Hope you liked it tho!! I love one (1) woman

I don’t understand the argument for killing Harlan.
Like I get that Allison killed him more as revenge, but then Five compares it to him killing the board, saving one over the many, and he even tells Viktor he will kill him if he does something like that again
Realistically, killing Harlan at that point though wouldn’t fix anything. It gives them someone to blame, but killing him in the present doesn’t stop the paradox nor does it solve anything, so why is Five arguing for it? Why is he comparing it to him killing the board? Killing the board was supposed to be their ticket home, he did it with a purpose. Yes, it was a purpose they squandered, but there was a purpose there, but killing Harlan served no purpose and wouldn’t fix the current break unless Five managed to go back in time and kill him before then
Honestly, in this argument you would think Five would be the one sibling on Viktor’s side, and that would have been the drama. Like all this comes out and the other siblings are siding with Allison because they are ruled by their emotions more and would have cared more, but Five is a realist who has been through the wringer on this. We could have had scenes of Five going to Viktor and explaining that he was upset with Viktor and himself because Viktor didn’t feel like he could come to him with the issue, but generally they all seem to react in a way that proves Viktor right. He hid it because they were already talking about handing Harlan over to the Sparrows, and adding this information in at that moment would have solidified their decision to turn him over. By hiding it he was able to get Harlan to help him with his powers, and generally Harlan could have been helpful in either containing the Kugelblitz or in dealing with the issues at the Hotel.
Yes, the Sparrows wanted him before they would work together but they literally could have had Harlan and Viktor go in and knock them on their asses until they listened or simply used Sloane and Luther to convince them to at least wait until the end of the apocalypse or whatever.
It would have still been dramatic, but it also wouldn’t have felt as much like the siblings were all ganging up on Viktor due to past shit that was outside his control.
Plus I LOVE seeing Viktor bond with his siblings in ways he wasn’t able to before, it was a huge part of my love for the first 2 seasons was seeing the kindness and care they could offer towards him now that they were adults and not under their father’s thumb, and it would have been good bonding for Five and Viktor to be on the same side but still addressing WHY Viktor didn’t go to him right away, and easily could have resulted in some additional fun bonding for them at the wedding and then would have given them a stronger base before dealing with the Hotel bullshit, which could have still gone largely the same way, all without having this issue where it seems to always be all of the Umbrellas against Viktor.
They keep acting like they are better and different now that they are older, but they still revert to the childhood bullshit of isolating and excluding him when convenient, and I wish they wouldn’t because you could achieve basically the same results while still allowing Viktor to have one or two major supporters at all times (Which would also reflect sibling dynamics more, like it is hard enough to predict who is going to side with who, over what, for a majority between my 2 sisters and I, but there are an additional 2 people in that dynamic, at least 1 should be siding with Viktor)

People in She Ra probably should be better about making sure there is a body before declaring someone dead, since they managed to declare both Micha and Entrapta dead and yet both were still alive, kind of an oversight

What kills me about Uncle Colm is that he sometimes really does have something interesting to say, he just takes forever to get there and makes it as boring as possible along the way

Day 5 - The Umbrella Academy: Cassandra
Cassandra got off stage to thunderous applause. She wiped sweat from her forehead before lifting her bass and its strap off of her shoulder.
“Great job out there.” Arthur, electric guitar, sidled up to her. “You free after this?”
“Sorry. I don’t date fans.” She smiled sweetly at him.
“What about an exception?” He managed to get a laugh out of her before leaning in for a kiss to which Cassandra obliged. Being dropped in 1961 all alone had been jarring at first, but it hadn’t turned out so bad after she met Arthur Ajax. He’d taught her how to play the bass and she picked it up quickly enough to be able to join his band. They may have also gotten into a relationship along the way.
“Want to take this back to my place?” Arthur leaned his forehead against hers. Cassandra hummed in agreement.
“Cassandra!” Her head turned. A young boy, who she never thought she’d see again, wearing a uniform that came from a distant memory, had gotten backstage.
“Five?”
“You know that kid?” Arthur asked.
“He’s kind of like my family,” Cassandra said sheepishly as the boy came toward them.
“You’re Cass’ younger brother?” Of course, the two looked nothing alike. Cassandra’s black hair, narrow brown eyes, and round features set her apart from the Hargreeves.
“Older actually.” He didn’t bother to address Arthur’s confusion before information barfing to Cassandra. “I need your help to find the others. Apparently, I’ve spread us out across the 1960’s and I’ve only found Diego and Luther. The apocalypse is coming soon so it’s important that we get the team back together.”
“Okay, Five, slow down,” Cassandra said and looked to Arthur, “I’ve got to take care of this, but I’ll see you back at your place, okay?” She relaxed when he nodded, thankful he was letting her go even though she knew he was confused, and quickly pressed a kiss to his cheek.
“So why is the apocalypse happening again?” The two walked away from the concert stage. Lots of fans shouted out to her, but she only gave them an acknowledging wave before turning back to Five.
“I don’t know, but us being here has caused it somehow so we have to leave.”
“And what are Luther and Diego up to?”
“Diego’s in an asylum for trying to kill Lee Harvey Oswald and Luther is acting as Jack Ruby’s bodyguard.”
“Geez. And I assume Allison, Vanya, and Klaus are also in Dallas somewhere?” The two took a corner onto a street lined with shops.
“I’m hoping so. You need to come back with me to this television store. It’s our home base right now.” Cassandra stopped walking, pondering the situation.
“But what about Arthur? I can’t just leave him.”
“You can’t be serious, Cassandra. This is bigger than you and the guy you’re currently dragging around.”
“Says the kid who’s in love with a mannequin,” Cassandra scoffed.
“Don’t talk about Dolores that way,” Five hissed.
“Just because I had a crush on you when we were thirteen, doesn’t mean I still do. I found someone who actually cares about me and he’s real.”
“He’s a ginger, Cassandra.” She began striding back the way they’d come, completely fed up with arguing. He could deal with the apocalypse on his own if he wanted to diss the way she had coped with being dropped in the past all by herself.
“Wait!” Five groaned and began chasing after her. That’s when the gunfire began. It came from the other side of the street. Out of instinct, Cassandra pulled out her ability which she hadn’t used in two years. Golden light glowed in her inner arm and from it she pulled a circular metal shield to deflect the bullets. Five reached her and teleported them to one of the stores’ roofs. The both of them laid there breathing heavily as they heard the gunfire cease.
“I see you haven’t lost your weapon manifestation.”
“Who the hell was that Five?” Cassandra whispered, peering over the edge of the roof to see three men walk away, all with snow white hair.
“They’re from the Commission and they’re here to kill us for messing with the timeline.”
“We need to find a way to get back to 2019.” Cassandra thought about her old life. It’d be back to a peaceful life of writing books for her. She’d get to see her parents again. Still, her heart hurt at the idea of leaving her life in Dallas.
“Okay. Let’s stop the apocalypse again I guess.”
