ok got too excited for a sec and unfollowed you ignore that- but long awaited sol opinion time???

batter up wasn’t bad. idm the song tbh and at some point it might grow on me but overall the sound was boring tbh… no hate at all to the girls and stuff bc they’re so young but i feel that the company hyped this gg up for so long and with the reputation of being the next gg up yg after blackpink, the final product is less of a “this is trash” and more of a “this was all you could really do?” bc i know for a fact they probably have newer sounds kept away in the basement somewhere.

the vocals, rap, and dance are all great. but the main issue is that a lot of them are still minors. mainly the youngest who is 13. her voice will change a lot as she grows older and i hope yt know how to accommodate that properly bc i know for a fact that companies will force artists to sing in a certain range for their whole career bc “it’s what the people want”

i saw people complaining about not having a storyline to their group and tbh, i don’t think a group needs a story to be popular. i get that having concepts like that is what makes k-pop what it is, but if you focus too much on a storyline for your sounds, you lose part of the musical ascent and limit yourself to certain topics. im actually glad in this case that yg didn’t didn’t end up going with a storyline path bc it would restrict them further and with again, how they all are, having to make a concept that will fit the members for the whole long run is hard.

i think storyline are wonderful if you’re able to show subplots and different meanings within the songs without having to stick to that one story; each song is a tale itself. ateez and txt pull these off well imo just bc of the way they storylines are already so complicated, meaning you’d have to dig deeply into things for the lore. it’s not constricted to one side of things. idk if any of that made sense-

the mc was. boring… idk like i feel like the could have done so much more to show case them? the rap line had a good part in the mv where they got more physicality but the vocals just. stood. idk. maybe that’s just my inner performer who was told to use up the stage a lot coming though LMFAO

omg i hope you enjoyed this little spillage of my thoughts. i don’t think i’ll follow baby monster just bc it feels odd? to follow them when again, over half the members are younger than me TwT

1 - !!! THIS !!! i don’t think it’s a bad song at all. i did think it sounded a little like. quiet? but that’s j me probably ive had my headphones in p much all day at tinnitus inducing volume so. Yeah ❓ from what ive seen most people don’t think it’s bad or anything, the complaint is that it’s boring. like. lazytown snoozefest big yawn boring. they put people through that long of a wait and built up that much suspense and excitement for it to just be. That???? kind of giving low effort laziness i fear.. like at least make it a little bit life changing damn

2 - THIS ABAINNNNN more groups need to start making music for the sake of it being music my god 😭😭 the lore and storylines are cool if you’re into that but if you’re a more casual listener and you don’t wanna get into all the things you feel like you need to know prior to a release bc of all the importance the story has to it then it kinda sucks ??? take sticker for example (ijbol) . that was not complicated intricate story telling . they were cunty cowboys and taeil had a dog

I really wanna write about moominvalley s3 but I have so much other writing to do ;_;

in sum, after rewatching, I really enjoy it. My opinion is that season 2 and 3 should probably have been switched in the order. Obvs certain things would have to be changed (Moomintroll can't come back from a trip he hasn't left on yet, lol). This is just my personal opinion because the tone and build up at the end of season 2 is not answered at all in season 3. Of course, that implies the tension would get a release in season 4... which is no guarantee at all at this point.

(meant this to be so very short but as usual I rambled on and on... sooo under a cut it goes x'D - spoilers obvs)

If I had to guess where the story's going as we head towards the finale, every strong story point has involved themes of leaving/separation/fears of, etc. So as a storyteller, my theory would be that we're building up to a more major separation of some kind in season 4. But storyteller instincts, clearly, have no importance in this situation. I've been wrong many, many, many times in the past with other shows for that same reason: to me it seems you absolutely need X for the story to come together, but the creators are perfectly happy without it.

(Incidentally, I only rarely run into the same problem with books - even YA.)

But I made this post not to complain x'D Because it's not a complaint, it's more a wish/a longing, because I prefer stories that go somewhere than ones that are episodic and development that happens in one episode has no effect in the next. If you're going to do that, I think you have to be careful how strong you make you the emotional impact, because steam without a vent has nowhere to go...

(holy shit I'm still complaining) I REALLY LIKED THE SEASON THOUGH. From episode 5 on, I loved every episode except 12. Also love the first episode. I want to love 2-4, but while I like the themes in them, I find them pretty lackluster, more the sort of run-of-the-mill storyline you find in any cartoon and not a lot of Moomin-y moments. But things definitely pick up again. I VERY MUCH miss the songs they picked for each episode in s1 & 2 (currently listening to s1 soundtrack because I missed it so much :P) but, despite that, the background music was used very effectively.

(Also, the song in ep 9 that Moominpappa and Mrs Fillyjonk sing is awesome. Little My commenting "How do we all know this?" when the dance starts had me in stitches x'D if any character's gonna break the fourth wall, it should be her)

The episode that tears me in two ways the most is the finale, Midsummer Magic. I want to love it!! I love the Hobgoblin's return, I loved his "gifts" to Moomintroll, Snufkin, and Sniff. And I loved the scene at the well... I might ship Snorkmyden after all bahaha. (But tbh Little My looking into the well and seeing the Hobgoblin for an instant was my absolute favorite bit... Also, it was Toffle's Tall Tales that made me a Snorkmyden fan ^^)

But I did find that there was just too little story development for me to really enjoy the finale. Like, aside from getting brainwashed by the gifts, why were Sniff and Snufkin even there? They don't do anything. And as cool as it was to see the Hobgoblin again, he just didn't have the cool factor this time. Just my opinion though.

Well, of course, I loved Lonely Mountain xP holy cheez wiz. it's good and funny. And the sidestory with Little My! By the way, do you know Nutkin...

This should have been the squirrel's name... then Moomintroll would have Snufkin and Little My would have Nutkin... hahaha (i think im hilarious yes)

And I loooooved Moominmamma in every episode except 12 x'D because I still think 12 was very meh. But Moominmamma and Stinky's partnership was unexpected and EXCELLENT. I really like it. Wasn't sure how I'd feel about MV19 Stinky, but I like him specifically because of how he acts with Moominmamma.

Things I still don't get: why is Snorkmaiden and Sniff going off to find Snork at the end of s2 just completely retconned? (I don't know what other way to explain it!) Why did they bring the lighthouse keeper back with them if there was literally nothing for him to do xD That whole "bring the hattifattener home" thing just feels so shoehorned in... the episode is more about Moominpappa anyway. And Toffle was lovely, I adore them, I'm glad they stuck around. But I hope this isn't the last we see of them, just living happily in the fairground... I was hoping we would get a Toffle & Miffle story remix :P

I'm on the fence how I feel about the Little My centric development too. On the one hand, I like it, because without it she would be the only character who's just always fine. So I agree with the decision to create conflict for her. The trouble is there's so little of it in canon. Little My's job is being okay no matter what xD So her wanting a biological father... her feelings of insecurity about whether she belongs in the Moomin family... they just feel OOC. But they do make sense as natural things a human being would feel. Well, tbh I wish they had gone a different direction with Little My, but I do accept what I go.

I also really liked seeing Snorkmaiden showing more of her personality. Reminded me of some good fanfics. The only issue I have is: will it matter in the final season? Once again, I really want there to be a pay-off to all this development, but who knows...

And with ep 10, I wrote a post about it but got rid of it because it was too nitpicky. I really do like the ep a lot! And will probably write about it again some time. It fits the season's theme of community/tolerance well. But I can't help but feel confused by some of it. I think I really needed some explanation of wtf Snufkin doing this job was supposed to mean. For him, I mean. It's meant to be explained with the "it's important that we make our own choices" thing. The trouble is that Snufkin keeps trying to make his own choices but is blocked over and over ;_; and there just seems to be such social consequences for making the choice he's most comfortable with, even at the very start before he actually agrees to anything, that I'm just not sure that's what the take-away is. Idk. I suppose my preconceptions about Snufkin are coloring my thinking here... I guess I find it hard to believe that any Snufkin could exist who hasn't already learned the importance of making his own choices :/

Still love the episode though. It was really fun seeing Snufkin in a stressful situation and seeing him have an argument with Moomintroll. (I did feel bad when he snapped at Little My... she kinda deserved it but hey, at least apologize since you were wrong, Snuf...) And I get the other moral of the episode, that as alone as we might like to be, we still need someone's help at times... even self-sufficient, independent types like Snufkin depend on others sometimes, and this ep was a reminder of that.

Oh, and the episode with Cedric. I like how MV19 remixes stories and doles out lines randomly x'D But this one was such a jumble! Not in a bad way - I'm just observing. In the story from Tales, Cedric is Sniff's doll who he gives away because Moomintroll told him about the "getting your good deed bad tenfold thing." And then Snufkin tells him a story which is basically similar to Mrs Fillyjonk's role in the episode. But in the ep, Cedric belongs to Mrs Fillyjonk, Snufkin is the one who said the "tenfold" thing, and in the end, Mrs Fillyjonk gives Cedric to Sniff but keeps the topaz eyes? That is what happens in Tales - Snfif finds Cedric lying on the ground with its eyes removed because they're valuable - but tbh I was surprised Mrs Fillyjonk would do that. In the beginning, we do see the gleam of Cedric's eyes reflected in hers... but does that mean she kept them because they're valuable..? I thought it was clear she'd grown past that. So it's more like she kept them as a keepsake. But... that's so weird, removing a stuffed toy's eyes... xD

Ok going back to writing now. Still have more to say but I'm just prattling incessantly now lol so I'll take a break. I wish I could write concisely but I'm very prone to word vomit...

ETA: one last thing. About episodes 11 & 12. I like 11 better than 12 but they both highlight the one thing about this season I didn't like... which was that it did a lot more moralizing than earlier seasons. S1 and 2 did it too, but this was to almost cloying levels at time. Yes, I think Moominpappa needs to appreciate the adventures he has at home. That doesn't mean I don't want the side of him which longs for something beyond and which keeps one foot in his youth to go away. Or that I think it's bad. These characters have actual complexity... why water that down to morals and lessons? I've talked about t before, but I'm generally against moralize in kids TV. Just write the story and the kids will learn something from it. You don't need to beat them over the head with it.

THAT BEING SAID... I know this episode is based on that story from Tales, in which Moominpappa pretty much comes to the same conclusion: that his adventure is at home with his family. So I shouldn't be bothered! ... It's just, that story "predates" Moominpappa at Sea. (We don't technically have a timeline, it's just the order of publication.) So I guess in my head, that meant Moominpappa was only temporarily content at home, and the whole lighthouse story was that side of him coming out again and bringing things to a head. Doing it the other way around feels weird because the lighthouse was so fraught and this is so... not! It's just out of balance. To me. I admit, this is coming from imagining what I want from a Moomin show... but it's not my show xP And in the interest of fairness - would the 90s show have done the same thing? totally. It just would have been a little more charming haha

So just as a concept Meryl the Punisher makes me giggle and kick my feet so have this word vomit abt her.

She’s definitely still the headstrong rule following lady we all know and love, she’s just got a massive cross gun that’s almost taller than her now /j. She’s definitely got All the religious trauma and oh my god she is severely fucked up but in an awesomely kick ass and cry in the arms of your definitely not lover way.

She and Nicholas still argue over everything dw. I couldn’t remove that dynamic if I tried (I love it too much)

She thinks Vash is a bit of an idiot (like Milly) but as she gets to know him they actually become really close and totally gossip about everyone together.

With Milly…. Good lord. There is so much here.

*slaps them* these ladies can fit so much trauma and feeling into them.

One, Meryl just thinks milly is really hot (me 2 tbh) and is like “okay so maybe the lady I was contracted to follow isn’t so bad after all” and just *shakes my hands and vibrates* THEM.

Milly is kind of weirded out at first by Meryl’s um everything but like not in a rude way, she just doesn’t know why this woman keeps following her. But she’s pretty so she’s not complaining.

Oh my god the accidental deification from Meryl is gonna be so funny like “My wife is practically god I’m a religious woman holy fuck”

Milly doesn’t get it. But that’s okay.

Meryl and Tesla are WLW hostility. I don’t really know how else to describe it except for that meme that’s like “stop dating my sister” “yknow what I’m gonna date her even harder” yeah. They probably fought in a Wendy’s parking lot.

Meryl fights everyone in a Wendy’s honestly. Or she would, if she wasnt being dragged around by these idiots (affectionate).

Tesla goes to space Costco because Zaizie said it would be good for her to “touch grass” and she just stands there awkwardly and leaves after like 10 minutes with stuff she didn’t even come for. Idk I want Tesla to be this bad bitch but then she’s also like “how do I normal life please help”

Milly and Vash bonded over being the biggest sweet tooths known to mankind. I love their friendship sm it’s one of my favorites.

Tesla does have 2000’s music taste and by that I mean she got introduced to it by Rem and that was the biggest mistake Rem made. (Based off that one ask that I love to bits)

Team fuck around and find out is back in business and we love to see it.

Wolfwood totally is on the edge of getting fired and Milly probably is the only thing making sure he keeps his job.

Anyway Milly is still the silliest.

Thomas:

- Pretty unfazed by it, though he doesn't particularly enjoy anyone popping out in front of him (insert him glaring at the actors until they walk off in defeat)

- Concerned that you'll be scared though 🥺 Has his eye on you the whole time because he's afraid you'll get startled. If you're visibly enjoying yourself he'll just :') because you're so cute and interesting

- His heart will explode if you get scared and hold his hand or something like that. Reads a lot into it and is happy you feel protected by him and such. Can't stop smiling to himself, very pure

Brahms:

- Good luck trying to get Brahms to leave the house at all, let alone for something so ~unnecessary~ :/

- In the unlikely event that he would go, he'll be complaining about how ridiculous it is the whole time, if only to attempt to seem like he isn't secretly trying not to jump at everything happening (Literally squeezing your hand the whole time. It keeps getting worse. RIP your hand)

- If you get scared and cling to him? This will change things. He is now proud of himself. All the stuff he was just freaked out by suddenly isn't scary! (Ok, it is, but he can handle it better if he feels like he's protecting you)

Michael:

- Admittedly he probably loves Halloween-themed things. Finds it amusing, but of course, you'll never be able to tell. If you get freaked out easily he won't be the most comforting because he kinda thinks it's funny lol

- He isn't startled by anything really, but you gotta explain in advance because if someone tries to scare you or looks threatening he'll be...Protective 💀

- Mostly he's just fascinated that you enjoy that sort of thing? Probably really attentive to everything and all your reactions because he's intrigued lol

- No opinion really, it's not his thing but if you like it he's okay with pretty much anything

Bubba:

- Scared x_x Startled at each loud noise, music and jump scare. Clings to you all the while, confused as to why you even wanted to come

- If you're visibly enjoying it, he'll ease up a bit, trying to enjoy himself and see the appeal for your sake. If it's visually appealing/creative/pretty he'll actually end up liking it? If it's just pop-outs and stuff though then probably not :/

- Instant blushing if you hold his hand or grab him when you get scared. Better yet, just hold his hand throughout the whole thing :^)

Chop Top:

- Gets genuinely startled and scared believe it or not, though he enjoys it and laughs each time. Probably won't stop commentating the whole time though

- Ooo look at that! *gremlin laughter* (he says, while pointing at some random gruesome thing that leaves you like :O but what did you expect)

- If you like that sort of thing, it will give him ~ideas~. He'll decorate everything all spooky and such and will attempt to scare you throughout the season (and just in general really)

Nubbins:

- Like Chop Top will get startled easily but enjoys it. Insists on going through more than once, or at least finding another one to go through

- Probably won't notice if you get scared because he's too fascinated by everything so :o If you hold his hand or anything he'll blush so much though

- If he catches you getting startled he'll be both teasing and reassuring. You can get scared Y/N it's ok but it's all fake you know... (he says as if he hasn't gotten scared several times)

Beetlejuice:

- He will either be really underwhelmed because obvious reasons, or he'll just find the whole thing funny

- You like being scared? He can definitely do better than any haunted house 👀

- Chaotic times ensue! He'll try to get a reaction out of you going forward by scaring you when you least expect it. Of course coming from him there really isn't any limit as to what can happen so x_x

Candyman:

- Similarly to Jason, he's just kind of amused that you enjoy that sort of thing. Weirdo (lovingly) :')

- Very unlikely that he'll actually get startled but he's not going to complain if you cling to him if you're scared (but of course, if you like being scared, maybe he'll just leave you be and let you have fun)

- Doesn't pay much attention to anything going on, and just smiles lovingly at you the whole time

Bo:

- Pfft a haunted house? He'll humor you of course, but he'll tease you about it

- If you get scared and grab onto him he'll be so cocky though he'll seem playfully annoyed. Attempts to conceal his smile but fails :')

- Will never admit it, but he gets startled throughout. If you bring it up he'll never do it again though, so... x_x

Vincent:

- Not really his thing, though he'll enjoy seeing all the displays and such

- Vincent would be willing to do just about anything if you enjoyed it, though. He isn't easily startled at least, although he'll make you smile by jumping a time or two at pop-outs and brushing up against you as he draws back

- If you get startled he'll laugh to himself a bit, though you'll probably miss it. Smiles his way through after that

Lester:

- He wouldn't enjoy anything really extreme but would love the traditional ones! Actually really fun :')

- Easily startled and makes you laugh at his reactions each time. Very cute and will clutch his heart and laugh at himself, teasing you (lovingly) if you get startled too

- Will melt instantly if you grab onto him at any point though or hold his hand on your way through, giving it a squeeze and smiling over at you

Billy Lenz:

- Kind of chaotic as he'd be a bit overwhelmed. He'd be fascinated though and he does enjoy it. Laughs at some of the displays/actors lol

- If you get startled at any point and hold his hand/grab him he'll be like oH! And proceeds to do the same thing throughout the rest of it

- Will take any excuse to be clingy he can get. In all seriousness though I think he'd really enjoy any time spent with you at all, regardless of what you're up to. So no complaints from him in other words :^)

Asa Emory (The Collector):

- He'll be another one that's kind of difficult to convince. Thinks the whole thing is kind of silly, but he'll begrudgingly agree if you really want to

- Probably staring at everything with wide eyes. Especially you tbh. He's constantly fascinated by you and your interests/reactions to things

- He'd be kind of amused if you get scared at anything because like...You're with *him*. You've definitely seen some things but you jump at random, fake-looking pop outs with loud noises? Hmm

Otis Driftwood:

- Depends on his mood! He can be grumpy but if he likes you well enough and he's in an okay mood it can be fun. He likes anything ~spooky~ (to put it lightly) so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

- Similar to Asa if you get easily startled. Like, really Y/N? Pfft. (He obviously thinks you're cute though. No, he isn't going to hold your hand so you feel better. He says as he's holding your hand)

- Will make remarks about how his own creations look better though :/ (eyeballs you to see if you agree)

Charles Lee Ray:

- He'll complain about it up until the point that you get visibly startled. Then, he won't stop laughing and teasing you about it

- Kind of annoying, he'll probably try to make it worse for you throughout. Laughs each time you jump. Will have no complaints if you'd like to hold onto him throughout, although he'll probably tease you for it

- No, he did *not* just get startled at that sudden pop-out. Don't even ask! (he did)

Tiffany Valentine:

- Cute ;-; She'd be fascinated by everything, and adores all the spookiness! She gets startled with each jump scare but enjoys it, laughing at herself for getting scared

- Might take advantage and cling to you a little just because. If you are scared she won't stop teasing you, only because she finds it sweet

- Will watch you out of the corner of her eye the whole time, melting at your reactions to jump scares and random loud noises. Makes a mental note to make it a tradition so she can see it every year :')

Summary: You've kissed all the boys at some point or another so they call upon you to settle an argument.

“What.” You deadpanned when your face popped up on the screen.

“Y/N!”

You narrowed your eyes. They were all smiling at you a little too sweetly.

“What.”

“Why do you assume we want something from you?” Calum asked.

“Because you never fucking let me into these things unless you want me to do something,” You replied and they laughed. “So what do you want?”

“We need you to settle an argument,” Ashton said.

“About what?” You asked, taking a drink from your water bottle.

“Well, you know how you’ve kissed all of us at one point or another?”

You choked on your water and they burst into laughter again.

“Great, yeah, I could be dying over here and you fuckers are laughing. I feel the love.” You said, face heating up.

“Sorry, Y/N,” Luke said through his laughter.

“Who’s the better kisser, Y/N?” Michael asked, swaying back and forth in his seat.

“I’m not answering that!”

“Come on, Y/N!” Ashton encouraged. “The fans want to know!”

You groaned, burying your face into your sweater covered hands. “Couldn’t you have asked someone else?”

“All the other girls we know are biased! Plus you’re the only one who has kissed us all.”

“Oh,” Michael interjected, looking at the chat. “Speaking of, the fans would like to know the story for each of these kisses.”

You let out another loud groan that set them into another fit of laughter. “None of you fuckers told me this was live.”

“I can vouch for some scenarios,” Ashton said. “One of us was obviously present for each kiss, um” - he cleared his throat - “she kissed me...actually, some of you probably saw when she kissed me during a- aaah, what’re they called?”

“Keeks,” you said, coming out of your hiding.

“And I regret that decision every day.” You said.

“Ouch,” Ashton said, smiling. “That- that was only a peck though, you didn’t even get the full Ashton experience.”

You wrinkled your nose and stuck your tongue out at him. He stuck out his right back.

“She kissed me in a game of spin the bottle,” Michael piped up.

“When we were fifteen,” You said. “And I remember you used way too much tongue.”

Michael blushed a little bit. “Hey, I didn’t hear you complaining,”

“You were fifteen, bro, she was just happy to be kissed,” Calum said, making the group laugh.

“Yeah, imagine having to watch that,” Luke said. “It was pretty gross but Y/N seemed to enjoy it at the time.”

You laughed. “Like Cal said, I was just happy to be kissed,” you said, winking at Michael.

He rolled his eyes with a grin. “Ouch,”

“I think you kissed me during one of the old music videos, right Y/N?” Luke asked.

You nodded. “Yeah, but I think it got cut from the final thing. I don’t remember which one it was.”

“Was it She Looks So Perfect?” Calum asked.

“No, I don’t think so,”

“Oh my gosh!” Michael exclaimed. “Remember when we tried to get Y/N to run into the shot in her bra and a pair of American Apparel underwear?”

The group erupted into laughter.

“Oh my god, yeah!”

“And she would jump into Luke’s arms at the end?”

“Yeah, yeah!”

“I couldn’t believe you guys even had the guts to ask me that.” You said. “I told them no, of course, but they didn’t drop the subject the entire time they were filming.”

“So it definitely wasn’t She Looks So Perfect.”

“No,”

“Was it Don’t Stop?”

"Nah, she kissed Calum on the cheek in that one,”

Calum giggled, a small blush spreading across his face.

“Wasn’t one of the recent ones was it? Not No Shame or Easier?”

“No, definitely not, we’d have remembered that.”

“Fuck was it something from Youngblood?”

“Not Girls Talk Boys was it?”

“No, no, no,”

“Jesus, how many music videos am I in?”

“I think you’re in them all.”

“I’m in all of them?” You said, shocked.

“You didn’t know that?” Ashton replied.

“No, I didn’t know that. I mean I knew I was in a lot but I didn’t think it was them all.”

“Yeah, you always have some sort of cameo,” Luke said. “Even in Try Hard though you refused to ride the Rollercoaster.”

“Fuckin’ hate those things,”

“Oh, found it!” Michael exclaimed, a video playing in the reflection of his glasses. “It was in Good Girls, but it was cut.”

“Thought so,” You replied.

“It was during that slowed down, echo-y part.” Michael continued, dragging the video back a little bit.

“Oh, yeah, they had you jump up on stage and just, like, aggressively kiss Luke,” Ashton said.

You all laughed.

“Yeah. I remember that now. They wanted me to be one of the bad girls which I am absolutely not-”

“What do you mean? That song was about you.”

“I think the fuck not Mr. Irwin.”

That brought on more laughing.

“Yeah, don’t go looking that up,” You said. “Let’s just say there’s a reason it was cut.”

“It’s really not that bad,” Michael defended.

“I disagree, I’ve seen it.”

“I’m not sure how to feel about your strong emotions about this, Y/N,” Luke said with a laugh.

You laughed in return. “Trust me, Luke-ster, you were not the problem.”

“We’re getting off topic here,” Ashton interrupted. “How was the kiss, Y/N?”

You rolled your eyes, a small blush creeping across your cheeks. “It...wasn’t that bad... Better than Michael’s anyway.”

“Hey!”

You laughed and Luke shot you a wink through the camera.

“From the video it looks like you were enjoying it, Y/N,” Michael said with a smirk, getting you back for the comment.

“Fuck off Michael it was acting,”

"Mm hm, whatever you say,”

Your face was hot as you remembered it. The director had wanted it to be hot and intense. Wanted you to act like the girl from the song, which was hard for you on its own but you also had to full on kiss Luke in front of a whole bunch of people.

You were glad it got cut.

“The chat says it was hot,” Ashton read with a laugh.

You groaned. “After that behind the scenes video was released fucking (You + Luke’s Ship Name) was all over the place.”

Luke laughed. “I got tagged in a shit ton of Tweets, too.”

You nodded in agreement. “Not that I haven’t been shipped with all of you at one point or another,”

“I bet there’s still some fanfiction out there,” Michael said.

You laughed. “You would know,”

“When’d you kiss Calum?” Ashton asked.

“Drunk at a party,” Calum answered for you, sheepishly.

You gave him a lopsided grin. “That’s super dumb, Cal, I’m sorry.”

He laughed. “It’s okay,”

“You’re apologizing for kissing him?” Luke asked, grinning.

You blushed, laughing. “I guess?”

“That doesn’t totally count, you were drunk!” Ashton said.

“What you want me to kiss him again?”

“Maybe!”

You were all sent into a fit of laughter.

“See? Why do you guys even need me here? You know the stories.” You said, wiping your eyes from laughing so much.

“Because we can’t say who the best kisser is! And neither can any of our girlfriends. You are our unbiased party.”

“How do you know I’m unbiased?” You teased, putting them into a talking-over-each-other frenzy. You laughed. “Seriously, guys, all of those kisses were so long ago. I can’t give a good answer.”

“We just all need to kiss you again,” Luke joked.

“No way!” You protested.

“Why not?” Ashton asked.

“Because you have girlfriends! And that’d be weird...”

“I gotta agree with her,” Michael said. “She’s our sister from another mister, it’d be weird.”

“Sister from another mister?”

“Shut up, Luke,”

“Okay, well, now that I’ve slacked off you with guys for a while I should get back to work,” You said.

“You work for us, what could you possibly have to be doing right now?”

“Unlike you boys, I actually do work.”

They laughed.

“This is our work! We’re catering to our audience.” Michael said.

Scenario: GOM with a figure skater s/o

Kise

You and Kise had only been dating for a few weeks so there was still so much to learn about each other. Everyday there was something new that he learned about you that made him fall in love with you more and more. Even the smallest little things about you sparked his interest. Just the other day, he had a whole moment when he found out you liked the same cereal as he did.

Of course, him finding out you did figure skating elicited a bigger reaction from him than just liking the same cereal. It was just another Tuesday for you when your school day finally approached it’s end. Just you were heading out the school gates, you spotted your boyfriend standing and waving with a big smile on his face.

“Ryouta!” you squealed as you ran into his arms. “What are you doing here?” you questioned, not used to seeing him here since he was in a different school.

“I came to surprise my lovely girlfriend and invite her on a date of course,” he replied sweetly.

“Oh,” you said, your smile faltering as your shoulders dropped in evident disappointment. “I appreciate it, but I actually have practice today.”

“Practice?” Kise furrowed his brows. “Practice for what?”

“I have figure skating practice today. I usually head to the rink after sch—“

“You figure skate?” Kise exclaimed rather loudly; you were quite sure the whole street heard him.

“Yeah I do,” you giggled at his excitement.

“Y/N-cchi, how come you never told me? Can I watch your practice?” he asked, wide-eyed.

“You really want to watch? It can get a bit boring,” you asked.

“Of course I want to watch!” he beamed as he took your hand in his. “Lead the way.”

Grabbing a snack from a grocery store on the way, the two of you headed to the rink, where your coach was waiting for you.

“Woah, you get this while place to yourself?” Kise said breathlessly when you entered the chilly arena with skates in one hand and Kise’s palm in the other.

“Sometimes other people train here too, but today seems like it’s just me,” you shrugged.

You and Kise moved to the stands so you could get your skates on before you got onto the ice. After warming up for a bit, your coach went over your usual drills before you began to rehearse your routine that you were practicing for an upcoming competition.

Meanwhile, Kise was watching you wait nothing but intrigue in his amber eyes. Even while you were just doing your exercises, he found you absolutely graceful. Needless to say, when he finally saw the routine, he was over the moon. He had to hold himself back from hooting and cheering during it in case that threw you off. He was so excited in fact, that he had moved from his seat in the stands to the area right by the rink so he could get a closer look. His eyes never left you for even a moment.

Once your practice was over, you skated over to the edge where Kise was bent over the rails. “Well, boring isn’t it?” You said to him.

“Are you kidding me? You’re mesmerising! My Y/N-cchi is so talented,” he said, stealing a quick kiss from your lips.

Caught up in the moment, you didn’t notice your coach make his way over to you two. “You must be Kise,” he said, holding his hand out for the blonde to shake.

“Yes I am. Y/N-cchi’s been talking about me, haven’t you?” Kise inferred, throwing you a cheeky grin.

“Y/N’s mentioned you a fair few times,” your coach chuckled. “It’s your first time here isn’t it?”

“Yeah it is,” Kise nodded.

“Well, Y/N seems to do much better when you’re here. You should visit more often,” your coach said, making you want to crawl in a hole out of embarrassment.

“Is that so? I’ll do that for sure,” Kise laughed. “I was thinking that I should pick up ice skating too— just casually though.”

“Really?” you asked, eyes lighting up.

“Yeah, we could do a routine together if you’re up for it. Let me get the basics down first though,” Kise suggested.

“I can give you a few pointers if you need any. If I think your routine is good enough, maybe I’ll enter you two in a competition,” your coach said.

You were excited now; Kise was a quick learner so there was no doubt that you’d be practicing with him in no time.

A few months went by and Kise was attending almost all of your practices with you. He’d gotten quite good at it too— there were still a few falls that were absolutely hilarious because he’d whine every time, but for the most part he was much better than most amateurs.

Your coach was very amused by his progress too. “A basketball player and a figure skater in one— you don’t see that often,” he’d chuckle.

Figure skating was never something Kise saw himself doing. But looking at how beautiful you looked when you skated, an eagerness was lit up in him. No matter how hard he’d practice, he knew he’d never match up to you. There was something about the way you moved so gracefully that made him feel like whatever he attempted was inferior. He wasn’t complaining though— he was doing this for fun after all. Plus getting to see you move like that was a privilege enough.

Moreover, skating with you allowed him to spend even more time with you, and that time only increased when you two got serious about your routine as partners. Neither of you were expecting to win the competition, but you were certainly having fun in the process.

Eventually the day came where you were in an official arena with Kise. Sliding onto the ice with someone was a strange feeling as someone who was used to competing individually. In a way, it was reassuring. Kise held your hand tight as you got into position in the centre of the rink.

“Ryouta, I’m actually kinda nervous,” you muttered to him.

Honey eyes looked at you softly as your hand was squeezed even tighter. “Don’t be— I’m here with you, every step of the way,” he whispered. “Besides, you can’t possibly look worse than me.”

You felt the tension ease a little as you let out a giggle. “If we go down we go down together, I guess,” you shrugged, the idea bringing you a strange comfort.

“Exactly,” Kise smiled. He looked to the side and spotted the technician giving you two a thumbs up. “You ready?”

“As ready as I’ll ever be,” you replied.

Kise nodded in confirmation before letting go of your hand and getting into position. “We got this.”

Midorima

Midorima loves you; he loves everything you do. Even if you murdered someone, he’d probably still love you (though he’d probably scold you while he helps you hide the body— but let’s not get into the specifics of that). Needless to say, he absolutely adored watching you skate.

Midorima is a busy person though, so it’s hard for him to find time to watch you as much as he’d like. Every time he did get the chance though, he was absolutely mesmerised, as though he was experiencing it for the first time all over again.

He’d never forget the first time he saw you skate though. You’d just begun dating and you had a competition that you invited him to. He wanted to meet up with you before it started, but his basketball practice ran on for longer than he expected. For a moment, he thought he’d miss it all together, but after a quick train ride and a lot of running, he made it just in time for your slot.

Admittedly, Midorima was really unfamiliar with figure skating. He told himself that he’d read into it since you were a skater yourself, but he never got the chance to. He made his way into the crowded stands and found himself a seat, feeling rather out of place considering he was still in his bright orange tracksuit. He didn’t dwell on it for too long though because his attention was quickly drawn to the ice that you were gliding onto.

For a fleeting moment, his jaw dropped. You looked gorgeous. The confidence you seemed to have as you got into position was a side of you he’d never seen before. It was like a different person altogether. Your name was announced in the speakers, eliciting a cheer from the crowd following by a small chatter that snapped him out of his trance for a moment. The music began to play and the crowd died down as all eyes were on you.

Right off the bat, you moved with purpose. Blades gliding on the sleek ice with such grace as your body swayed to the music. The moment you landed your first triple axel, Midorima was sure of it— this was your element. Completely lost in your routine, Midorima’s breath was taken away. And when it finally ended with a loud cheer from the crowd, he was left amazed. When his horoscope placed Cancer in first that day, he didn’t think he’d be so lucky to see something this gorgeous, but here he was.

He quickly rushed down the stands to meet up with you the moment he pulled himself together. As you were taking your skates off, you spotted him approaching you almost immediately— I mean, how can you not notice the 6 foot tall, green-haired man?

Your face lit up in an instant as you ran over to him barefooted and leaped into his arms. “Shin! You made it!” you exclaimed in glee.

“Well, I couldn’t miss a performance that good, now could I?” he said with a soft smile as he hugged you tight.

“You liked it? It wasn’t really my best score, but it’s up there,” you said, composing yourself and pulling away from him.

“I don’t really understand the scoring system, but you were phenomenal— really. I could watch you do that all day if I could,” he said genuinely.

“I don’t think I have the stamina to be skating like that all day,” you giggled. “But thank you, it means a lot.”

After that day, Midorima did his best to free up some space in his schedule to watch you practice. Seriously, he was addicted to watching you skate. It blew his mind every time. Of course, he’d be there for every single competition, cheering you on because he was now without a doubt, your biggest fan.

Aomine

“Competition? What competition?” Aomine questioned one day as the two of you walked to school together.

“Have I not told you before? I figure skate,” you said simply.

Aomine stopped in his tracks for a moment, catching you off guard as you stopped too to see what had happened. He just stared at you with a baffled expression. “You figure skate?! That’s fucking hot! Why haven’t you told me before?” Aomine exclaimed.

You couldn’t help but laugh. “Well I’m telling you now. I’m guessing you’ll be there tonight then?”

“That shouldn’t even be a question,” Aomine shook his head as he took your hand in his and continued walking. “Are you any good?” He asked.

“Well, I’m good enough to be in a competition, aren’t I?”

“True. I bet you’re great at it; you’re great at everything,” Aomine said.

“That’s not true,” you replied.

“It is.”

“So you’re saying I’m great at basketball too?”

Aomine visibly hesitated as he thought back to all the times he tried to teach you how to play. “Uh, yeah sure, let’s say that,” he lied.

“Shut up,” you laughed, playfully punching his arm.

For some reason, Aomine would not shut up about you being a figure skater for the rest of the day. You were trying to have a conversation with Momoi when he intervened, “Did you know Y/N’s a figure skater? How cool is that?”

“Yes I did know, Dai-chan. I’m guessing you told him about the competition today?” Momoi said returning her attention to you.

You nodded in response but Aomine stood there, slightly offended. “You told her but not me?”

“I just assumed you knew,” you shrugged, finding it quite cute how he was so invested in your sport.

“You shouldn’t assume I know anything,” Aomine said, making both you and Momoi roll your eyes and laugh at him.

Eventually, evening came and you were in the waiting room with your coach, with your eyes glued on the screen that broadcasted the current participant as you mentally prepared yourself for your turn, which was creeping up upon you. Meanwhile, Aomine was seated in the audience with Momoi, being as impatient as ever. “When is Y/N coming?” he yawned.

“Y/N should be up next,” Momoi informed as the song slowly reached its end.

The crowd cheered and a chatter started once again as everyone waited for the next person to take the ice. It took a few more minutes, but you finally entered the rink, skating to the center to get into position.

Almost immediately, Aomine’s jaw dropped. You looked stunning. The way your suit dazzled and clung onto your body was pure art. He swore that he fell in love with you all over again just at the sight.

The music began after a nod of confirmation from you and your skates began to roam the ice ever so smoothly. Aomine was blown away. You were nothing like the previous participants. The way you moved was so clean and purposeful. With each spin and leap, Aomine’s heart skipped a beat— you had his complete attention.

He was quite sure Momoi was talking to him, but he didn’t hear a word. For some reason, everything else around him seemed to fade out as he watched you skate, almost like he was stuck in a trance.

He was finally snapped out of it when the routine came to an end, leaving him at a loss for words as he joined the crowd in their applause.

You made your way off the ice and headed back inside towards the changing rooms, where you ran into Aomine and Momoi in the hallways. “Oh hey guys, what did you think?” You asked as you rotated your ankles nonchalantly to relieve them from the slight soreness you felt.

“You were so so good, Y/N. Dai-chan was so silent during the entire thing, I think you hypnotised him or something,” Momoi joked as she nudged Aomine’s arm playfully.

You turned your attention to your boyfriend, who was rolling his eyes at Momoi’s comment. “Well, was that performance worth all the hype you seemed to have?” you asked him.

“Of course it did. You did so well out there— not to mention the fact that you look incredible in that suit,” Aomine said, still unable to take his eyes off of you.

“Aw really?” You smiled.

“Yeah, you look fucking hot,” Aomine responded confidently.

You couldn’t help but giggle before you got on your toes to place a kiss of gratitude on his cheek, making him flustered. “Well, thank you Daiki— it means a lot.”

Murasakibara

You won’t be able to find someone that loves you more than Murasakibara does. Really, you won’t. He loves everything about you. Your smile, your looks, your mind, and even your hobbies. As someone who doesn’t really take much interest in other people, it was a brand new feeling to be absolutely smitten over you. But he was dedicated.

The two of you were still getting to know more about each other in the first few weeks of dating and the topic of sports came up. “Do you play any sports, Y/N-chin?” Murasakibara asked you during one of your video calls at night that he liked to have when he had nothing else to do.

“Yeah, I’m actually a figure skater,” you replied.

Murasakibara’s eyes lit up. “Really? That’s so cool. Do you go for practice and stuff?”

“Yeah, duh. I practice almost everyday.”

“No way. Can I come watch your next practice?” he asked.

“Sure, but I feel like you might find it boring,” you said hesitantly, knowing that you wouldn’t want to sit there for hours doing absolutely nothing but watch.

“Well, I guess I’ll find out,” Murasakibara said surely. “Do you have any videos of you skating?”

“Yeah but they’re not on my phone.”

“Send them to me, I wanna see you skate.”

You giggled. “Atsushi, you’ll see me skate at practice, can’t you wait until then?”

“No, I can’t wait. I bet you look really cute when you skate,” he said as brought another potato chip to his mouth.

“Well, you’re going to have to wait because I’m not sending you anything,” you said dismissively.

“How mean,” he pouted.

Luckily, you managed to change the topic of the conversation before he could beg of you any more. The day for your next practice came and Murasakibara was brimming with excitement as you two entered the arena.

After instructing him to sit at the stands, you took to the ice where you started with the warmups that your coach told you to do. Practice went on and Murasakibara gave you his full attention— which is an incredibly rare sight.

As he watched you stretch and leap and fall, he couldn’t help but be impressed. He certainly could never be able to do any of the things you were doing— it looked exhausting. Something about the way you moved had him captivated though. You looked like you were having fun. No matter how many times you’d fall or mess up, you always seemed passionate about it and that was something he envied ever so slightly, but at the same time he found it such a lovely sight.

You truly loved the sport, he could see it so clearly. And automatically, he had a newfound interest in it too. It wasn’t that he wanted to try figure skating himself, it was just the fact that he loved seeing you so happy that he began to enjoy the sport too.

“I’m surprised you haven’t fallen asleep yet,” you said to him jokingly once your practice came to an end.

“Well, you were just that good— you had my full interest,” Murasakibara shrugged.

“Really? I didn’t expect you’d enjoy it that much,” you said.

“I did. I might just watch all your practices from now on.”

“Sure you will,” you said sarcastically.

Little did you know, that he would actually do just that. At almost every practice, he’d be seated in the stands, eyes full of admiration as he watched you. He would often bring you little snacks that you liked so that you’d have something to eat after practice. There were times where he’d be extra tired, but he’d still make it to the rink, even though you’d tell him countless times not to feel obligated to watch. It usually ended with him falling asleep halfway through, but he never regretted it. It was always nice waking up to the happy face of the person he admired.

Akashi

Akashi was well aware that you were a figure skater before he began dating you. Of course, he’d never seen you actually figure skate, but he knew random things about almost everyone around him and being interested in you only made him want to get to know you more.

Akashi is a very supportive boyfriend to you, especially when it comes to your passions. Figure skating was a very beautiful sport in his eyes and the fact that the person he was dating was a figure skater was something he’d never get over.

Being the calculating person he is, he decided to take you ice skating on one of your first dates with him. It wasn’t a particularly busy day at the public ice rink so Akashi got quite lucky when the two of you got there and realised that the place was practically empty.

“Looks like we got the whole place to ourselves,” Akashi said as the two of you slid onto the ice, hand in hand.

“Yeah, it’s quite nice actually,” you smiled, appreciating the serenity of the place. “It’s kind of making me want to do a routine or something,” you thought out loud.

“Then do it.”

“No, we’re on a date, we should just skate together,” you shook your head.

“No, I insist. I’ve been wanting to watch you skate for a while now, and the opportunity finally came,” he said. “Besides, it’s just one routine, shouldn’t take too long, right?”

You let out a sigh as a soft smile spread across your face. “Yeah, I suppose,” you shrugged. “But don’t expect too much— I’m not in the most comfortable of clothes right now.”

Akashi chuckled. “No judgement from me. I just want to watch you skate.”

“Alright,” you smiled as you skated over to the centre of the rink.

Akashi stepped out and leaned against the rails to watch you from the sidelines, barely able to contain his excitement. There wasn’t any music playing so all you could hear was the sound of your blades against the ice, echoing throughout the arena. However, that didn’t stop Akashi from being fully immersed in your skating.

He was blown away by the way you skated, especially considering that he sprung this on you out of the blue. Every movement was precise and refined; he could tell that you’ve practiced to perfection and he was impressed. In fact, seeing you move so flawlessly had him swooning over you more than you could possibly imagine.

Eventually, you came to a halt, your breathing heavy after the spins and jumps, though you were quite satisfied now that you got it out of your system. Akashi returned to the ice with a smile on his face. “That was outstanding, Y/N,” he complimented.

“Really? You liked it?”

“Of course I did. It all seemed so professional— you really practice a lot, don’t you?” he pointed out.

“Yeah, I have been for years,” you nodded.

“Well, you’re absolutely stunning on the ice,” he said genuinely as he placed a kiss on your forehead and took your hand in his. “Shall we get back to our date now?”

“Yes, yes, of course.”

As much as Akashi would have adored to watch you practice everyday, the times often overlapped with his basketball training— though he did make it a habit to meet up with you afterwards so that he could walk you home (like the gentleman he his). Even though he was a busy person, he always attended your competitions without fail. He’d always send you a bouquet of flowers before your competitions as well, with little notes wishing you good luck and it would melt your heart every single time.

so I just watched “In the Heights”

here are some positive and negative thoughts:

is it odd that within the first music number the very first thing that caught my eye is that they have dancers of different body types? for real that was the very first thing that cught my eye as I already know the song, so details like that were more important in my mind

speaking of odd, the accents in this movie. Even when I watch a film that happens to have Latino representation it still called out my atention a lot to hear so many Caribbean accents. So often latino artists either play them down or try too hard to sound Mexican and on this one that Caribbean accents are what really caught my atention and I don’t know how many people will point that out.

not to compliment him too much but this is the best LMM has ever sung tbh. Who knew that to make that happen you had to give him 3 songs instead of 30.

Corey Hawkins as Benny is probably the best casting decision in the whole film, I know that he has done other stuff, but a million doors better open for this guy after this ok I had no idea he could sing and dance and command the screen this much.

Daniela and Carla as an offical couple, YAS QUEENS!!! just what we needed for Pride Month even if they are secondary characters, they just always act like a couple.

Cameos from famous latinos like Mark Anthony and mentions of great artists like Chita Rivera, Rita Moreno and Celia Cruz. Finally some education on screen.

Olga Merediz singing “Paciencia y Fe” made me cry so hard that my mom came to see if I was ok, I demand an Oscar nom for her!!!! Olga owns that role so hard ok she originated it on Broadway, played Abuela for 3 years, was in the OBS cast recording, and is still killing it at it 12 years alter

very good cinematography which is Jon Chu’s strong suit no matter what

overall cast does a really solid job

now for the bad under a read more cause it got LONG and spoilery

They shouldnt have added more characters. Mark Anthony makes a cameo, as in literal 1 minute cameo and the reason why becomes an important plot point later on ok, he adds more to the story in one minute than plenty other characters with less time do. Example:

there was no reason to add Cuca, there just wasn’t. Other than giving Dasha Polanco (queen) a paycheck there was nothing for her character to do. She was added to the movie ok the role wasn’t in the play, and thus there is nothing for her to do

bit of a spoiler but all she does is twerk from time to time and follow around Daniela and Carla like a third wheel. If it was a 3 way polyam relationship then that would at least be something but nah, she just flirts with Usnavi (who she knows likes someone else) and shakes her ass, thats it

not enough Pete!!!! he was such a cool character in the play but in the movie he almost does not exist and you don’t get to see the Abuela Claudia’s portrait ok it feels like a waste

they cut out Priscilla!!! why? the fact that both of Nina’s parents want to support her is great and we have enough orphans in the movie already, it makes that fact that Nina’s dad is not a perfect man less impactful and instead make so that everything he does in the movie is seen as perfect, Priscilla putting him in his place was a great scene and we don’t get it

the couples have no chemistry. There I said it. I am ok with the actors they chose but I was rotting for those couples a lot less than in the play.

I expected more out of Blackout ok that song is such a tense and scary moment and here it feels like its played for laughs ok stuff that really hits in the play feels watered down because it is being made into a joke.

This sounds mean but Nina’s voice in the og recording is way stronger than Leslie Grace’s and I knwo that the comparison will be seen as unfair but I have to say it.

to be even meaner, I’m sorry, but Anthony Ramos is a way less emotional Usnavi to me and the reason is that he doesn’t even need the winning ticket to move back to DR, he just gets the check inmediately at the begining of the story so I’m like “ok why bother staying is the other option is always fucking open”.

now for my biggest gripe with the movie: Vanessa’s clothing. Not what she wears but what she designs. Why cleaning rags? just why?

the movie complains and shows the issues with gentrification only for Vanessa to take cleaning rags, from Pete’s job, and turn them into gentrified clothing. I know that the movie was shot 2 years ago but already the clothes she desings look a. out of fashion and b. annoying.

The complain that rich people will buy pants and shirts that are already broken and stained but look down on poor people who broke and stained their clothes while doing actual work has been around for a while, so that pissed me off. You can’t make a movie against gentrification and then gentrify clothes and call it your leading lady being “creative” and “great”.

The fact that no one in the production throught of that tells you that by now they are more “Hollywood” than “from the block” no matter how much they say they are not. Also, remember my Blackout complain? yeah its cause the reason it isn’t tense anymore is that movie brings up over and over again how a tragedy can happen and latinos will just dance and sing like they dont care.

Characters go from being worried about their safety and their businesses that they need to survive to breakdancing to fire works, why? why do you do it like that? why can’t you show latinos as people with troubles trying to fix them through hard work and instead no one was worried about the blackout until Abuela Claudia died ok they were having a bingo party instead of worrying about their livehood and the safety of their homes.

after “Paciencia y Fe” the movie was pretty much not doing it for me anymore and it is these “small details” that bothered me and took me out of it. Yeah those last 40 min of the movie made me rant this hard so I don’t know if I recommend it or not ok I can’t recommend 2/3 of a movie and tell you to just not finish it. No one will care about this much ranting so whatever, up to you.

Miku is obviously a top student. The like. School idol. Everyone knows her, everyone loves and rely on her. She's the anime protag yknow. She's also prez of the music club.

Rin and Len are a bit younger, Rin is more of a classic exciteable kinda tomboy-ish schoolgirl. Len is much more introverted and relaxed. Very much a bro. He's honestly just tryna get trough school. Rin wants to have fun with it meanwhile."

Luka is pursuing a career in music production, she's Miku's sister/cousin, she often visits and brings along something cool for them to do. When Luka's visiting there's always something cool. She's the cool aunt type. Generally speaking she has quite a lot of money with her side job while she goes trough school.

Meiko and Kaito are teachers- very different ones..

Meiko is kinda the 'idk just. I'm not paid enough for this. Do whatever. Pretend you're working'

She's just. The cool teacher. So chill. Does not care. Probably teaches PE?

Kaito does his best, he really tries to be dynamic and he's genuinely trying to be a good and fun teacher.

Ultimately fails, not because he's hated but people just. Forget him in favor of something more interesting. He doesn't stand out to them.

He only stands our to a few horknee female students who silently thirst when his first button is unbuttoned or smt. Yknow the "omg that teacher is so hot tho" girls

Not that many in japan but. Yknow. This is cliche anime vocaloid. Not realistic japan vocaloid.

Kaito has such a crush on Meiko all his students know it

Meiko does not notice shit

Somehow along the way the students pull some strings and in the end they start dating.

Ugh they're so wholesome

The students ship them hard, they respect it.

When students need something they'l usually ask Kaito because they know he's super nice and chill and will agree to msot projects unless he thinks they're dangerous. Even then he'd really easy to sway. (Icecream for the bribe)

Luka's such a trooper

So nice, always tries to be there for Miku

Is Miku's role model

Is just Miku grown up. Litt everyone simps her at her school.

Len admires her so much and plans on going to the same school cuz he wants the same career path

Oh ya music club, Len plays guitar, Rin plays guitar, Miku plays synth/piano. If they do concert stuff for the school, Len will play guitar, Rin will play drums and Miku with play synth.

headcanons about the legion and any toads they interact with a lot/the most

colored pencils & overlook tower staff:

- it’s mostly the same w all of them since copen sees them pretty much the same. annoying little beasties biting killing violence.

- most of the toads fear him tremendously as he personally rampaged through the entire tower (and i mean RAMPAGED. the holes in overlook tower are literally notorious for being ridiculously huge) but a lot of them are intrigued by his art and amazed by it, despite their best interests

- i imagine the overlook chef would hire him in the postgame au though, as the art brings in GREAT business

- the one toad they stuck to a drawing of a toad has a bone to pick with them. copen is taken aback by this and although at first he brushes it off as just another hater that toad actually has always dreamed of learning to draw. he finds it endearing but he’ll never tell

rubber band & shogun studios staff:

- rubber band treats the toads like theyre his best friends and adoring fans until theres even one notion that rb ISNT the big star. that’s when she goes all bridezilla

- again mostly fear here but it’s a lot less than copen bc those toads legit think he’s some kind of monster. the fear here is more the fear if you were kidnapped by a batman villain

- the mc toad is the one who had to come to all of rb’s rehearsals, and evidently became rb’s ‘shoulder to cry on’- he only chose to work at the theatre bc it’s air conditioned and most other jobs are either outside or require a lot more running, so he’s honestly not that passionate about acting. at first he thought rb was scary to be near esp since he was the one who had lines to flub, but along the way he’s actually found that acting with actual passionate people is... fun? rb and him definitely have a kinship and he’s like her fucked up little apprentice. tbh when the toad asks mario to get back on stage bc his parts not done yet it’s half bc he’s scared of what rb might do and half bc HE SPENT WEEKS PREPARING MARIO. DONT RUIN IT

hole punch & shroom city residents:

- hp is maybe the second worst one here with toads. little fucker

- the toads don’t really remember much about the crazy disco evening just how a silhouette faster than light cornered them and then some really good music came on. most of them are relatively unphased by hp because of this

- dj toad is hole punchs personal stress ball. honestly i think the only way hole punch really likes the dj is that he likes making the dj squirm bc the face stealing bit ALWAYS gets him el oh el. much like dj is frustrated by hp’s outdated banter, hp is frustrated by dj’s refusal to play Good Music. dj would much rather hang with prof and ode bc at least then he can make fun of them for being old

- hp doesn’t see much of professor toad but he does know he’s angry bc he missed a toad! dammit! he thought he got em all.

tape & the sea toads

- every toad stuck to the sea tower doesn’t even know it was tape. that’s how good he is at ‘cleaning up’

- ode mostly sees tape as another obstacle just bc well. Tape. but if he got to know him he’d probably be like ahh i was reckless once too. and tape would be like now what does that mean

- tape begged olly to let him free the craftsman so he could intimidate him but olly said no. he then proceeded to freeze the mushroom house for good measure

scissors & the shangri spa toads:

- they mind their own business... she minds hers.

- most of the toads are unaware of what scissors is doing in bowsers castle

- they complain about minions disappearing every now and then... that’s bc scissors got bored

- sometimes she books appointments at the spa though to polish her blades!

- shed still cut any of em in an instant though. just for fun.

somehow made it through february with all of its ups and downs, and so we’re here with another rec list! i didn’t consume as nearly as much media as i did in january because the semester is now in swing for me, but here’s the stuff i did manage to watch/listen to/read!

kdrama:

all about my romance

you know, i’m not the biggest fan of shows about politics, but . . . maybe i just kinda wanted to watch a fluffy rom-com and not think about much else, and so i watched all about my romance, which . . . tbh, isn’t exactly the best in rom-com genre, but shin ha kyun playing a fool in love with the idealistic and passionate representative no min young (lee min jung) was pretty cute. basically, this show is about two different politicians in different parties--kim soo young (shin ha kyun) being in what i think is meant to be the more conservative party, no min young being on the more liberal party. what’s interesting though is that kim soo young apparently used to be on the liberal party too before switching sides. of course, you wouldn’t think that these two would ever fall in love, but after some rather funny events, rep. kim falls in love with rep. no, and together, they do their best to keep a secret relationship while also pretending to be enemies in public.

again, it’s probably not my favorite kdrama in the world, but it had its cute moments! not really sure if i would watch this again, but you know . . . shin ha kyun looked really good in this drama, so maybe watch it for that?

tv:

midnight mass

even though i was spoiled for a good chunk of this show, i was still incredibly impressed with this story. mike flanagan truly knows how to combine horror with love (or maybe horror was always about love), and he’s really now my favorite director/creator because whoo boy--

but anyways, for those who somehow don’t know, this show is about a really sleepy, kinda downtrodden island town. and then the new priest comes to the town’s church: father paul (hamish linklater), who’s charismatic + influential and may or may not have his own agenda with the whole place. i don’t really want to spoil this show a whole ton, but it’s incredibly . . . powerful. granted, it’s very monologue-y (moreso than other of flanagan’s works), but given the atmosphere + the themes of the show, i feel like that was all warranted. it’s only 7 episodes, so it’s a pretty quick watch. it’s also not exactly . . . hm, even though it’s horror, there weren’t any jumpscares. i think this might actually be a good “horror” show for those who don’t really like horror--or it might be a good entrypoint into the genre. (lots of blood, maybe like one or two jump scares, so very few in comparison to other horror shows/works . . . and really, of course, rather beautiful. the last shot will always haunt me.)

movies:

i am easy to find

this is an interesting short film--24 minutes long and unique in that it really is a very long music video of this album. i don’t really know how to describe it, except this is one of those short films where nothing happens but also everything happens. it’s just one woman living her whole life, from birth till death, and it really is something that made my head spin a little bit, because what is a life anyways? what makes a life? not surprised that this was directed by mike mills, the same man who directed one of my favorite movies of all time, beginners (2010), because these two pieces of his work are definitely in conversation with each other. (life, but now composed of so many little moments.) i don’t have much else to say except i think i’ll appreciate this short film more when i’m older, but right now, it was a quiet watch for when my brain was tired.

the present

this is a 40 minute samsung ad, but you know what? i’m not going to complain, because the whole cast was so cute, and i witnessed shin ha kyun being literally the cutest, and it was a funny feel-good short film that made me make a lot of “awww” sounds, so that’s all that matters.

basically, this short film is about a pair of young up-and-coming entrepreneurs oh ha neul (kim jun myon) and bo ra (kim seul gi), whose lives are temporarily interrupted by the sudden appearance of a man out of time (shin ha kyun). there’s not much more to it than that, but this short film was so cute, and it was def. made with the goal to encourage young entrepreneurs, and it made me so :’))

gerald’s game

. . . so this was a movie. that i watched. tbh, i was kinda watching it pretty fast and looking away from the most gruesome scenes (because there are gruesome scenes), so idk if i really watched the movie so much as just winced through it, but still, i think i appreciate this movie for how it so cleverly dug into dealing with trauma. also, it’s worth noting that gerald’s game, the novel by stephen king, was thought to be the book that couldn’t be adapted into a movie (easy to see why: very little change in scenery, very few characters, etc), but mike flanagan + carla gugino + bruce greenwood delivered.

i kinda wish i liked this movie a bit more, bc it was clever, but also it made me so squeamish. basically, it’s about a married couple that go up to their lake house as a holiday (ie. fix their marriage). gerald (bruce greenwood), the husband, has a heart attack after chaining jessie (carla gugino) to the bed bc of a sex game . . . and so jessie’s stuck there with her dead husband and slowly goes mad bc . . . y’know, dehydration. also trauma. because of those super serious themes, major trigger warnings bc there’s quite . . . a lot of unsettling stuff here (gore, child molestation, etc).

that said, i do appreciate the intense character-heavy focus on what trauma can do to a person, but also, there were some parts that i didn’t like. (specifically the weird serial killer subplot. because there’s a serial killer subplot and it doesn’t really do anything to the plot and i kinda wish it wasn’t there. but y’know, okay. i get it. also, this movie made me hate dogs. i didn’t think that was possible, but this movie really made me hate dogs.) so . . . idk, carla gugino + bruce greenwood are fantastic, and mike flagan’s fantastic in really depicting this story, but also, there’s . . . so many squicky things / elements to this story so i honestly wouldn’t watch it again, but i guess ? if you’re interested in flagan’s other stuff, then ? have fun ? (but also maybe be sure that uh . . . you don’t have anything in your stomach beforehand.)

i watched this movie on a really cloudy day, which i think was appropriate. it was just really . . . slow-moving and kind of chilling (it’s always cold) in the first 3/4 of the film, but i think it’s appropriate. this film is basically about princess diana (played by kristen stewart) and her christmas weekend, presumably the one that kind of defined for her to divorce prince charles.

okay, so for starters . . . i didn’t really think i’d like this movie at first, in part because the beginning is pretty slow, but as i kept watching, i just found myself getting very slowly sucked in. there are some really amazing scenes in this movie (god . . . i can’t talk about them normally), and more than anything though, i just felt very sad about princess diana. that said, a really beautifully made film. the music and the writing and kristen stewart . . . everything just slowly comes together in this really phenomenal way, and when i tell you there are some excellent scenes in this movie--there are some genuinely excellent scenes in this movie (god, the dining room scene . . . the pearls . . . that whole sequence might have driven me insane).

minari

there are very few movies that genuinely makes me feel like a whole person, but minari made me feel like a whole person. something that was just so beautifully made and done with so much honesty and love and also made me feel like . . . a person. which is to say, korean-american. which is to say, there are very few american movies with korean american characters that actually makes me feel real (instead of a caricature or a stereotype). it’s not surprising that minari is one of those films, seeing that it’s made by lee isaac chung, himself being korean-american growing up in arkansas.

god, i can’t talk about this movie without getting insanely personal, but basically: this movie is about a korean-american family moving out to arkansas to start a farm growing korean vegetables and fruits. the father, jacob (steven yeun), is optimistic, ready to start this new life. his wife monica (han ye ri (my BELOVED)) is much more anxious about this chapter, while their children anne (noel cho) and david (alan kim) take in this new environment like any other korean-american kid. (partial bewilderment, partial excitement, but also concern about their parents’ straining relationship in the face of this sudden shift in their lives.) in an effort to make this transition easier, monica’s mother (youn yuh jung) moves in, and the story really starts from there.

everything about this movie is just excellent. the acting is amazing, the camerawork and the music is stellar, and the way this is very much a film about the korean-american experience is just . . . well, to be said simply, i’ve never seen a film that’s really got at the heart of being korean-american besides this one. i kind of can’t talk normally about this film because i’ll just get overwhelmed and lie down, but even if you’re not korean-american, i highly recommend this film, just because i think in general, it’s one of those insanely wonderful films that i think everyone and anyone should watch. it’s about a family, it’s about new beginnings, it’s about the hardship of new beginnings, it’s about dreams and failed dreams, it’s about a desire to have a better life, it’s about starting over and over again despite it all, it’s about what you do when you need to start over again . . . god. what a beautiful film.

the secret life of walter mitty

i watched this movie for the first time in theaters when it came out. i was probably 12, maybe 13 years old, and back then, i didn’t really understand the entirety of the movie. i just thought that the music was cool, and i liked the settings, but that was about it. then i rewatched it when i was 13, 14 in a hotel room, and i remember i was sick that day, and i was feeling really alone, but i found myself falling in love a little more with this movie.

i watched it again, now at 22, and i discovered that i couldn’t really move after the film, just because i felt really. emotional. basically, for those who don’t know, this movie is about this kinda ordinary guy named walter mitty (ben stiller). he seems to zone out every now and then, fantasizing all these dramatic and cool moments in his mundane life. then something happens at work, which leads him down this wild goose chase to find a guy that he’s been working with for the last 16 years. this goose chase leads him to all sorts of places: greenland, iceland, afghanistan . . . and yet while this film is very much about being brave and doing something stupid and impulsive, it’s also very much about finding something beautiful even in the quieter moments of your life. or like. what makes a life a life.

laurel hell by mitski

god. how do i describe how this album makes me feel? i was writing my first paper of the semester (my first paper of the last semester undergrad, no less) when this album came out, and i just kind of felt myself get swept away. as always, mitski really is this poetic force. her sounds and her lyrics are just so interesting to me in that all her songs are so short, but i still feel so full after listening to them, which i think is the sign of really good songwriting. jarring, cutting straight to the bone and yet able to fit so many complex emotions . . . god, that’s mitski. anyways. my favorite tracks are love me more and i guess, both of which absolutely wrecked me. also there’s nothing left for you. i cried a lot listening to there’s nothing left for you. and i guess. and love me more. just something about burn out, something about feeling like everyone’s moving on, and you’re moving on too, but kind of in this tired way. something about feeling thankful but also a bit sad because there’s some chapter ending or your life’s moving in a direction that you’ve predicted for a while now, but it’s finally becoming a reality and you don’t know what to do with all these feelings.

even if things fall apart by lee seung yoon

so, i knew lee seung yoon first from his fantastic song we are on the law school ost, and then the touching the giving tree from the our beloved summer ost, but when i came back home for break this month, my mom showed me a bunch of lee seung yoon’s videos from his time as a jtbc show contestant, where he made his big hit. my mom really loved his story (33 years old, singing not inside cafes, but outside them because cafes didn’t accept him . . . going on this show as one last attempt on his singing before finally calling it quits on his dream), and i found myself so pleasantly surprised by his voice and my personal connection to him as an artist (i was like “EOMMA I WAS APPARENTLY ALREADY LISTENING TO HIM?”). he’s so incredibly versatile, and this album of his really shows that. there’s something so . . . satisfying about his voice, and he’s able to touch different styles so well. he can do the teasing growl, the soulful mellow thingie (besties. ... i’m not a singer idk) . . . his songs are so sweepingly optimistic and soft and bright, despite his own hardships, and i think i would rather like to hear his music forever. a true gem. even if you don’t understand korean, i recommend giving his stuff a listen, especially his title song even if things fall apart.

sleep well beast by the national

you know, i was familiar with some of the national’s songs, but i got properly into them this month, maybe because i watched i am easy to find (and they did the soundtrack for that short film). i was already familiar with some of the songs from sleep well beast, but i gave the whole album a real listen and just quietly fell in love with them. the national is just one of those bands where the lyrics and sounds weave into this really long, really beautiful poem, and i just found myself getting really lost in the music. there were lots of cloudy days this month, so i found myself sometimes just waking up and listening to them for hours during those days and nights. my favorite tracks include nobody else will be there and guilty party.

books: (because oh my god, i actually read a book this month? thank goodness, because i missed reading)

this is how you lose the time war by amal el-mohtar and max gladstone

i think someone reviewed this book as just poetry disguised as genre fiction, because that is exactly how i can describe this book. poetry, but disguised as genre fiction. something to do with a war in time and space. two different people, presumably women, who are apparently the best of the best and writing letters to one another from different sides of the war.

i don’t really know how else to describe this book other than insane. but a brilliant, exciting insane. i am reading the letters between lovers, and what’s weird is that i think a lot of these kinds of books (the epistolary novel) can get boring rather quickly--or they can attempt to stuff in some kind of plot, although it doesn’t always work (at least not for me).

but this book really gets away with it in that in these letters themselves, there’s not so much plot as there is just really witty, really lovely banter but also, somehow, miraculously, you can tell these characters are growing fonder and fonder for each other. their letters to one another are snappy, quick to the bone--and then you’ll read a line that’ll just make you sink and hold your breath because ah, that’s what it means to be truly in love with someone. and i dunno--i suppose i truly am a hopeless romantic, because i am and always will always find something so lovely and endearing about falling in love with someone’s voice before actually hearing it first.

i don’t really have much more to say about this book other than that if you really want to read a book that’s relatively short (and this book is really short--only 200 pages!) and just full of incredibly lyrical writing, then i highly recommend this book.

haikyuu boys on saint patrick’s day

genre: crack humor

notes: i kinda hate myself for this lmao

tendou: convinced goshiki that he’s half irish and therefore has seen a real life leprechaun.

semi: he’s hot so his band probably has a gig at a pub. gets paid and gets free food and even a drink. he doesn’t really care too much for the holiday though.

ushijima: it’s an average day for him. he tries to be a bit more festive and uses some of his free time to look for four leaf clovers do they even have clovers in japan or am i stupid?

lev: goes around the whole day calling yaku a leprechaun and ended the day with a whole bunch of bruises.

kenma: he doesn’t even realize it’s saint patrick’s day until one of his games has like a mini event and he just sits there like oh.

kuroo: all day during practice, whenever someone did something well he’d just shrug and go ‘it’s the luck of the irish’ no, kuroo. it’s not n

oikawa: “it’s saint patrick’s day” he’s overly excited, uses these weird themed pick up lines on his fangirl. it’s kinda disturbing to watch.

iwaizumi: “it’s not a major holiday, we really don’t give a fuck” 100% down with oikawa’s bs, he’s just trying to get through the day.

matsukawa: chugging as many shamrock shakes as he possibly can in the parking lot of a mcdonald’s at 1:30 in the morning.

hanamaki: also chugging as many shamrock shakes as he possibly can in the parking lot of a mcdonald’s at 1:30 in the morning.

bokuto: he was VERY VERY excited, he was even about to start literally looking for the end of a rainbow in hopes of a pot of good. that was until the team had to explain that it was just a myth.

akaashi: tries to hide the fact he enjoys any festive themed food, so same goes with saint patty’s day. he would hate for his team to see him enjoying some type of green dyed food.

tanaka: him and noya follow saeko to a university party and they enjoy themselves. everyone things they’re drunk but no, they’re just like that.

noya: showed up to practice with those cheap dollar store necklaces and hats. he tried to give some to the first years to be a good senpai but regretted it when tsukishima compared him to a leprechaun.

tsukishima: yeah this dude made fun of anyone and everyone who even bothered to celebrate saint patrick’s day. except yams tho.

yamaguchi: he’s sweet, he probably made like cookies and cut them out into clover shapes. he was proud of them and thought they tasted pretty good. any excuse to bake it a good excuse.

hinata: now don’t hate me for this he went to go pick up natsu from school and one of her class mates asked if both of them were like leprechauns or something. now both hinata siblings hate saint patrick’s day.

atsumu: a menace he went up to his fan girl and asked for a ‘lucky saint patty’s day smooch’ before practice.

osamu: not as bad as his brother but one year he was caught wearing a very loud green t-shirt that read ‘kiss me i’m irish’ claimed he didn’t know what it meant when he bought it.

suna: the less expected person to really be into saint patrick’s day. no, yeah i see his sister and family being really into it for some weird reason. he would rather be caught dead though than caught wearing a little buckle hat.

kita: he’s neutral on the holiday. he use to enjoy doing things when he was younger but now he’s just grown out of it. that doesn’t mean he won’t say happy saint patrick’s day to the people he talks to.

aran: he goes a long with it for the sake of his younger brother. like when his parents do the ‘oh no a leprechaun destroyed your room’ he’ll play along.

moniwa: wants to do something fun for the team and he probably prepares a little ‘pot-luck’ yk cuz it’s a bit of a play on words-

futakuchi: grumbles and complains about having to celebrate the holiday but will still eat enough food to give him a stomach ache.

kognegawa: he’s more than happy to celebrate. he even brought a baggie of those coin candies to share with his classmates.

aone: he puts his little turtle in a little leprechaun hat and he probably takes a billion pictures of it.

sakusa: another one who secretly loved celebrating holidays. tbh he probably plays celtic music in his room thinking it’s considered festive. komori caught him once and never let him live it down.

it’s september 1st in south korea & japan rn,,,, so you know what that means

26th birthday hcs 👁👁

(this post is long as hell so brace urselves lmao)

on the morning of her birthday, ariana is woken up by either twitter and message notifications or her husband

her fans are blowing up her mentions with birthday wishes and her family & friends are doing the same, so bet that she has about a million notifs

since byakuya gets ready for work before ariana, he usually comes back to wake her up (even if she’s already up lol)

he hands her coffee (a caramel macchiato with a shit ton of cream and three sugars), tells her “good morning” and “happy birthday, love,” and kisses her on the forehead

they usually have a short lil conversation about whatever (what they’re going to do that day, ariana’s birthday, other random topics) before byakuya tells ariana to go to work lol

but before she does, she usually opens twitter and scrolls down her birthday hashtags (which are already trending with about 100,000 or so tweets lmao), and responds to her text messages

three hashtags i came up with are “#AutumnFairyAri,” “#26WishesForAriana,” and “#아름이하트27개” (#27HeartsForAhreum) 🥺

(the last one is because ariana is 27 in korea lol)

guaranteed that she’s smiling like an idiot at those tweets lol

if her fans are lucky, ariana might like their post. if they’re extra lucky, she might even respond-

(cue the combustion of her fanbase)

then she posts a lil morning selfie, thanks her fans for all the birthday wishes, complains about how she has to go to work on her birthday, and then she finally gets ready for work lol

as ariana does, her fanbase is literally in flames lmao they’re screaming at her new selfie (“LOOK AT HER HAIR OMG MNJSHFJFMNGJ” - one of ariana’s fans, most likely), flooding her comment section, and taking over the trending page

ari and byakuya usually leave together, and ariana gets dropped off first, so when she does, they usually say goodbye to each other & byakuya gives her another kiss on the head

ofc they say “i love you” to each other, and if anyone around them has sumn to say about it, then byakuya can just make their jobs disappear !! 😗✌🏽

once ariana gets to work, she’s immediately greeted by another round of birthday wishes and the occasional gift (because oh my GOD she gets so many from her staff)

the best gift comes from her manager of 22 years, yoo miyeon. that woman is literally like ariana’s second mother it’s so cute-

miyeon usually says something along the lines of “remember when you were shorter than me ???” (it is now the other way around lmao)

near the end of her day, ariana sits in her company’s conference room, goes live on vlive, and opens the shit ton of gifts, cards, letters, and bouquets that were sent to her by her fans (and god damn doesn’t she get a lot-)

(ariana loves the bouquets,,, she literally squeals every time she sees that she got another one :(( she’ll be making flower arrangements with all of them later on lol and she’ll probably go live again 👁👁)

her birthday lives are one of the things ariana loves the most. she gets to speak to her fans, speak to her staff all casually, and her fans get to see her again. it’s a win-win :))

(bet, byakuya is watching that live when he has the time and has sent a message to ariana. when she spots his message, knows it’s him, and gets incredibly happy is one of the best moments of the live)

she also speaks to her family (they’re all in korea and america while she’s in japan 😕) during the live !! near the end, ari blows out the candles of the cakes that were bought for her by her staff and her family, and she answers questions from her fans

(lol remember back in 2011 when ari’s fans thought she was gonna finish high school & come back to korea, but instead she met this tall blond mf, fell in love with him, moved in with him, and then ended up marrying him 10 years later so now she’s really not coming back ??? lmao good times 🤣🤣🤣)

it’s a v nice moment & if you miss it, that’s such a loss lol ariana rarely goes live since she’s always so busy

after well over 12 hours, ari’s work day is finally over. on those types of days, she gets home before byakuya at around 7 or 8pm

after work, both of them go to dinner !! :))

while byakuya is coming home, ariana just gets ready. there’s a dress from byakuya that was hung by his staff in ariana’s closet (it’s black and designer, ofc 🙄✋🏽), and all ari has to do is shower, do her hair and makeup, pick out her shoes, and pick out a bag from the literal hundreds that she has

ariana goes live on instagram while she does that as some kind of “get ready with with me” thing. she gets to talk to her fans again (especially her stan twitter ones lol), ask how she should style her hair & do her makeup, and ask what accessories she should choose

she also plays music in the background (especially britney spears, christina aguilera, the pussycat dolls, rihanna, nelly furtado, gwen stefani, lee hyori, or hyuna because they make her feel hotter than she already is lmao) !!

and ari sings to whatever’s playing and she gets haruka-

-to say hi & help with her hair and makeup, so ariana’s lives are just a gold mine worth of content lmao

byakuya comes home just a lil while before ariana’s finished, and ofc, she forces asks him to say hi to her fans

lmao all that man does is silently wave with the world’s straightest face, and the chat is just yelling about how fine he is (“GO OFF RICH BOY” - one off ariana’s fans, probably). like HE’S NOT DOING ANYTHINGFGDHMBK

ariana asks her fans if she should leave or stay on the live for a while longer, and ofc, they usually say that she should stay,,,, but that woman rarely listens tbh ASMNKHJFMNJK

she might stay for like,,, 5 minutes, but usually, she just leaves lmao

a lil while before she and byakuya leave, they talk to each other and to haruka for a while, and haruka probably most definitely takes polaroid pictures of ari and byakuya before they leave lol

the restaurant ariana and byakuya go to is of course very fancy and luxurious (it probably serves french cuisine too lmao). ari insists that they get a table on the rooftop, and since it’s her birthday (and since he loves her sm), byakuya complies :))

they talk the entire night, and if she can, ariana reaches over to hold byakuya’s hand most of the time :((

after dinner, the two of them will take a walk through tokyo. ariana would love it (well, not really, because she’s wearing literal heels lmao), especially since she and byakuya rarely get to do things like that. she’ll be taking pictures of things she finds interesting and would 100% ask byakuya to take pictures of her (and vice versa)

The last thing about sign of four I do need to address is yeah, there's the Horrific Amounts Of Racism in that one and the whiplash hearing it is just ridiculous because they seem to be so knowledgeable in all other areas and fairly... politically correct, taking sherlock's original misogyny as a purposeful character flaw, but then they just mention someone indigenous once and suddenly its all parrotting racist propaganda and just... really awful shit. There's no way I'm gonna speak for the group that just got absolutely hate crimed here but anyone can tell the author just has no clue what he's fucking talking about and it's physically painful.

And I don't know, it's just so bad it seems out of character? Doyle's making these motherfuckers say shit that honestly, Sherlock would know better about. And especially Watson. I'm not sure how to handle it specifically, or what's the proper way I should handle something like that in a media I otherwise like. Is it ok to say Doyle was clearly a piece of shit on the matter and separate those characters from his bias or is that insensitive?

Scandal in Bohemia was a fucking ride, first of all, before we even get to Sherlock's girlboss arc we have to discuss how gay the whole situation was and how Doyle's attempt at making them less gay failed spectacularly

Like he's all "ah yes I need to marry off watson and uhhh make sherlock ummmm interact with a woman so they dont look gay" but he does it SO BADLY that it makes them look EVEN GAYER

cause i mean, even the conversation they had about watson getting married back in sign of four was gay af, but how Doyle handled things afterward was in no way straighter.

Cause you know, the man kind of wrote himself into a corner with the fact of Watson narrating these stories. So Watson has to be around to witness them, and to witness Sherlock's own thought process rather privately, so he has to be around sherlock at night, a lot. But trying to come up with a reason for that happening just... it didn't occur to Doyle. He just went. Ah yes this makes sense. And it's Watson just like Sleeping Over At Sherlock's like every other goddamn day and every time his wife leaves town and having them basically still live that cute domestic home life but they have absolutely no excuses for doing it anymore. It's quite funny

Like it was gay already the way they interacted when they officially lived together but it was like, a necessity for them. Now it's not, Watson just comes over because he goddamn wants to, and it's hilarious to me.

sherlock like... posed as a dead body and tried to get her to give up the location of the photo but she out-acted him and skipped the town the next day after doing the 'good night mr. sherlock holmes' thing with sherlock completely tricked

and she just. sends a letter like "dear sherlock holmes. you're a fucking idiot and i think it's funny that you lost. nice job tho mad respect" and sherlock just SHORT CIRCUITS

the king comes back a bit later like "hey Dude where's my Photo" and sherlock's like oh yeah uhhhhhhhhhhh about that and the king is like HOW COULD IT POSSIBLY HAVE BEEN THAT GODDAMN HARD i would have dated someone more noble if she wasn't so pretty i swear im on a whole different level from her

and then. GIRLBOSSIFIED SHERLOCK HOLMES RESPONDS "from what I have seen of the lady, she seems indeed to be on a very different level from your majesty" ABSEHHESHEFHHFES ROASTED

and the dude just LEAVES

After that I read a few more of the short stories and well the highlights I got from that pretty much were these conversations
