My Kristanna Halloween/Fall Fics
The Grandfather Clock (T)
There's a demonic presence in the house Anna inherited from her parents, who died in unexplained circumstances. Determined to sell it and be rid of the burden, she enlists the help of her ex-husband Hans and Honeymaren's paranormal investigation team, but she finds herself relying on the local sheriff's expertise instead. (T)
Iduna's Apple (T)
Kristoff had been giving Anna baskets of his best apples for her Harvest Day pies for years, but he was always too shy to express his affection in any other way. Everything changed, though, when Anna got a goat named Sven with a taste for apples.
The Headless Horseman, a Chilling Tale (M)
One Halloween night, Anna finally left her violent and controlling husband Hans and fled through the dark hedges, which were said to be haunted by a headless horseman in search of blood and heads, to get to her sister Elsa. While the headless horseman was only a legend, Anna's cruel husband was real. Will the horrors of the forest be worse than than the husband she left behind?
The Jakku Lantern (E)
It’s Kristoff, his Mandalorian helmet, and Olaf the Pumpkin King, against Raggedy Anna and Elsa AKA Maleficent, in a pumpkin carving contest judged by Sandy Claws Sven. Will Mando get a happy ending, despite the helmet that just won't budge, in this alternate version of the charades scene from Frozen II?
Ginger Sweet Love (M)
Anna and Kristoff get a second chance to tell each other how they feel when Kristoff shows up unexpectedly at Anna’s Halloween/Friendsgiving party. Let's hope 17 years later isn't 17 years too late.
Seeing is Believing, Hearing is Deceiving (M)
Anna Oldenburg lives in a 19th century fantasy world of romance and ghosts and is dedicated to preserving the memories of the past, while her somewhat estranged sister Elsa Frost, an ice cream artist, does everything she can to focus on the here and now. Anna falls for Kristoff, the building conservator and maintenance technician at the Victorian mansion hotels owned by the Oldenburg family, but her over-protective father Agnarr keeps them apart. Their lives get turned upside down when Kristoff discovers a skeleton in the closet. Anna works with Kristoff to uncover the mystery of the skeleton, but she'll need her sister's help to learn the secrets of the past that are the keys to saving Elsa's son Olaf. [I have plans to rewrite this one but it keeps getting put off.]

Answering my own ask...
Okay so...for nice ask week, I tossed out a question that I think can reveal a lot about a person, and about how they see themselves. The question was: If you could make a list of the top fictional characters that all combine to describe you and your spirit, your soul characters, who would they be and why?
And because I'm me, and I've thought about this question a million times over the years and keep a running list in my phone I wanted to answer my own ask so that y'all here on Tumblr can get to know me a little bit better! And what I'm going to do, because I am a lover of great quotes and a believer in the power of words, is tell you why these characters are my soul characters through THEIR words and the words of others speaking about them.
Going to save the best for last, by the way.
Rapunzel - "I promise. And when I promise something, I never, ever break that promise. Ever."
Woody - "But the thing that makes Woody special is he'll never give up on you. Ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what."
Elsa - "You are the one you've been waiting for."
Cinderella (2015) - "I want to tell you a secret. A great secret that will see you through all of the trials that life can offer. You must always remember this. Have courage and be kind. You have more kindness in your little finger than most people possess in their whole body, and it has power. More than you know. And magic. Have courage and be kind, my darling."
Samwise Gamgee - "That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting for."
Ted Lasso - "You know, I think that if you care about someone and you got a little love in your heart, there ain't nothin' you can't get through together."
Henry Fox-Mountchristen-Windsor/Hanover-Stuart Fox - "He came from a long, long line of princes, but never before had there been a prince quite like him: born with his heart on the outside of his body."

Sophie Beckett & Female Power: Untapped Potential
Tumblr media
That's right here we go, buckle up and in.
So, this is going to be a bit of a mix between creative ideas/character analysis mixing both Bridgerton the show and An Offer From A Gentleman. (AOFAG)
Currently, in the show, we have roughly seen two types of femininity (if I were to generalise). We have Lady Violet and Daphne exhibiting a more maternal take on femininity, and then we have Kate and Eloise (even Penelope) with a more ‘girl-boss’ femininity.
But I think in the character of Sophie Beckett, JQ laid the foundations for a different type of femininity, another facet of female power, which can be explored further in the show...
I argue that the show could emphasise how Sophie Beckett’s female power comes from her kindness and empathy, which enables her to create strong, female relationships. It is this female power that enables her to save herself and orchestrate her own emancipation.
Background: Cinderella & Female Power
Tumblr media
Now, due to AOFAG being a Cinderella retelling, I can see how some people might assume the opposite from Sophie. I have already touched upon this in my other comment on @bridgertonbabe’s post concerning Posy’s role and some of those ideas shall be repeated here. Concerning ‘background’, I shall refer primarily to ideas/debates surrounding the 1950s Disney Cinderella, as I believe that is most prevalent in people’s minds when we talk about this topic.
As I said in that other post, many people critique Cinderella as an ‘anti-feminist’ figure, a ‘weak role model’ for young girls. Many argue that Cinderella does not have agency because events happen to her, she does not initiate them; it is her father’s death that leads to her servitude; the fairy godmother steps in and enables her to go to the ball, and the prince steps in and marries her.
However, when people brand this character as a portrayal of ‘weak’ femininity, I do not think they are considering that Cinderella is an abuse victim. While yes, some abuse victims can find their own ways out of abusive situations, it is very common that abuse victims need some type of intervention.
AND THAT DOES NOT MAKE THEM WEAK. NEEDING HELP IS NOT A SIGN OF WEAKNESS. NEEDING INTERVENTION DOES NOT MEAN YOU LACK AGENCY; IT DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE ‘LESS’ OF A WOMAN.
I believe it is the opposite. Cinderella shows amazing strength, because she is in this abusive situation BUT SHE STILL GETS UP. Cinderella still puts one foot in front of another, she has hope even in the face of great unkindness, Cinderella is still kind in the face of great unkindness.
Cinderella’s story might not teach girls how to stand up to the patriarchy, but it does teach young girls that sometimes, the strongest and most rebellious thing you can do, in the face of a situation where you can’t fight or scream, is to put one foot in front of another and hope. And I think that is such an important lesson not only for girls but for humanity. The world is confusing, the world can be bleak but hope and kindness can create a little light among the chaos.
So yes, events do happen to Cinderella. And yes, she does marry the prince. And in some parts of the film, she does not have as much agency as other Disney princesses. However, that does not mean she does not show female power, it is just that her female power is a little more subtle than Elsa’s.
Sophie Beckett and Agency: A little good, a little meh–but a lot of potential
Now I think, due to genre restrictions, time of publication, and perhaps the writer herself, that JQ does not give Sophie as much agency as possible.
Don’t get me wrong there are moments when Sophie does have agency. (There’s a really funny post from @sophiamariabeckett here, linking once again with @murielstacy and @bridgertonbabe)
As I mentioned in my Posy comment, Sophie’s kindness and empathy to Posy creates a bond strong enough that Posy is willing to defy her abusive mother and free Sophie. In this way, Sophie’s kindness saves her. It also shows that Sophie saves herself and does so by establishing female friendships.
However, I feel that with a couple of little tweaks, the show could take this idea from the books and expand it.
So, let’s take a look at events where Sophie is ‘saved’ or is ‘enabled’. And I’m either going to advocate how these events signify Sophie’s agency or I am going to give them a little tweak. Here’s the list I’m working from:
The servants push Sophie to attend the ball where she meets her Prince Charming AKA Benedict Bridgerton.
2. Benedict saves Sophie from her would-be-rapists.
3.a Posy Reiling swoops in and unlocks the door for Sophie’s freedom-> twice.
3.b The Bridgertons save Sophie from jail. (Particularly Benedict and Violet)
1)The servants push Sophie to attend the ball where she meets her Prince Charming AKA Benedict Bridgerton.
Now, JQ does not make it explicit, but she does mention that Sophie has a good bond with the servants throughout her childhood, often seen helping in the kitchen. However, JQ also writes that as she grew up, the servants distanced themselves.
So, on the one hand, Sophie’s own actions and bond with the servants set up their motivation to get Sophie to the ball... Once again, her kindness and her ability to form friendships, enable her to step closer to freedom. However, I feel the motivation for Sophie to attend the ball could be stronger. So…
CHANGE: Sophie Beckett goes to the ball, because of her friendship with Genevieve Delacroix.
Firstly, I think that Sophie needs more characters to interact with and Genevieve Delacroix is a character that could easily be orchestrated with.
So, according to this change, Sophie Beckett and Genevieve Delacroix are good friends, and Sophie Beckett’s infamous silver dress—is one of Genevieve Delacroix’s designs.
Now, my book lovers. We can still have the servants and housekeeper Mrs Gibbons help Sophie to the ball. But I want the main reason Sophie goes to the ball, not because she deserves one night to ‘be who she was meant to be’, but because Genevieve asks her to.
Picture the scene. Genevieve and Sophie have been friends ever since Sophie was relegated to servitude. Over the years, the pair have gained a deep friendship through sharing dreams, pasts and storms of life. So, Sophie obviously knows of Genevieve’s talents as a designer. One night there is a masquerade ball, the biggest party of the season, and Genevieve turns up in the servant’s quarters of Penwood Place with a silver dress in hand. She’s finally ready to show her design to the ton but she needs someone to model it, someone who has the right accent, the right upbringing… someone like Sophie.
Now, Sophie is hesitant; by going to the ball Sophie would be risking the wrath of her abuser—Araminta. I can only imagine that this would create great anxiety for Sophie. But after a moment of hesitation, Sophie looks at her best friend who is ever so close to attaining her lifelong dream. So, Sophie accepts the silver dress. Sophie’s choice to put her friendship with Genevieve over the toxic & abusive relationship with Araminta enables Sophie to meet her Prince Charming.
Personally, I feel this is a greater motivation for Sophie to go to the ball than in the book. Also, if the show does not want to do a ‘fancy dress’ masquerade but a normal one, then Genevieve’s dress can facilitate this.
2)Benedict saves Sophie from her would-be-rapists.
The problem I have with this scene is that, (like the trope in general), it draws focus away from the woman and onto the man. Scenes like this are commonly used to show how good the guy/romantic lead is, rather than anything about the situation the woman is in.
Due to the show, we already know that Benedict would never dream of conducting himself like Philip Cavender. Further, in prior seasons we see Benedict's respect for working-class women (another post I could do). So, this scene is kinda redundant, but it can easily be adapted for a more modern audience.
CHANGE: Sophie is the one who frees herself.
The scene goes as normal, Sophie is running away and gets caught. Benedict is exiting the party and comes up to Cavender’s crew. But instead of intimidating Cavender into letting Sophie go, he merely distracts Cavender (with the intention to free Sophie). Sophie uses Benedict’s distraction to punch her way out of the men’s clutches and runoff. (Benedict standing for a couple of seconds utterly stunned at this very pretty woman who just felled three men in one swoop).
We still get a Benedict and Sophie reunification and Benedict still aids Sophie, but I feel this tweak gives a bit more power into Sophie’s hands. Once again, Sophie saves herself—a little more obvious than her other times.
3.a) Posy Reiling swoops in and unlocks the door for Sophie’s freedom-> twice.
The first incident I refer to occurs at the beginning of the book when Posy unlocks the cupboard door that Araminta locked Sophie in, thus allowing Sophie to escape. The second is her dramatic entrance into the jail at the climax of the book with the will that enables Sophie to be freed from her cell.
These events should stay the same. Because Posy is awesome, and Sophie is awesome.
As I mentioned before (and in a previous post), Posy is the main piece of evidence highlighting Sophie orchestrating her own emancipation.
Sophie did not have to be kind to Posy. I think it is reasonable that Sophie could have grown to resent Posy. Perhaps, due to Posy’s silence, Sophie could have seen Posy as an enabler of her abuse. (Especially because Sophie was a child and so, would have had a child-like mentality).
NOW. DON’T GO HATING POSY. I DO NOT STAND FOR POSY SLANDER IN THIS HOUSE.
Tumblr media
It is not Posy’s fault that she did not stand up to her mother. Posy WAS A CHILD. A child should not be expected or responsible for standing up against abuse, let alone responsible for standing up against a narcissistic, let alone standing up to her mother. Think about your own relationship with your parents. As a child, were you confident in pointing out when your parents did something wrong?
And I am not blaming Posy, I am saying that it was a possibility that Sophie would perceive Posy like this. Or at best, distance herself from Posy due to Posy’s association with Araminta.
But Sophie doesn’t. JQ makes a point in the prologue of AOFAG to show that Sophie goes out of her way to help Posy and be kind to Posy.
It is because of Sophie's kindness towards Posy that establishes a bond between the girls. A bond that enables Posy to be incredibly brave and go against her abusive mother by unlocking the door for Sophie not once–but twice. Through being kind and empathetic, Sophie enabled herself to escape that jail cell.
3.b)The Bridgertons save Sophie from jail. (Particularly Benedict and Violet).
Now the only reason Benedict Bridgerton is in that jail is because he has fallen in love with Sophie. Once again, by establishing a relationship, Benedict is willing to propose and get her out of jail.
But more importantly, (or what I wish to stress more), is the presence of Violet Bridgerton. Violet Bridgerton is the one to threaten Araminta; Violet Bridgerton is the one who manipulates Araminta into instating Sophie’s legitimacy and removing herself from Sophie’s life and future. Now, in this case, it seems that Sophie does not save herself, Violet does.
But why does Violet do this? Sophie is merely a maid, a hardworking maid, yes; a maid with a suspicious past, yes. But still a maid.
Violet is a Dowager Viscountess, many levels of nobility above Sophie the maid, levels above Sophie the ‘ward’ of Penwood, and levels above Sophie the illegitimate child of an Earl. So why does Violet bother?
Because Sophie and Violet have established a relationship—a friendship.
Once again it is Sophie’s ability to create a female relationship that helps her gain freedom.
But then again…
CHANGE: The show should show more of Violet and Sophie’s relationship.
I feel in the book Violet does the most work in establishing the bond between her and Sophie. Further, JQ presents Violet's motivations to be mainly ones of intrigue concerning Sophie’s identity rather than friendship.
Now, this can stay the same, Violet initially invites Sophie to tea because she is intrigued by the plot holes in Sophie’s backstory. However, due to Sophie's interactions with her daughters and her kindness—that is how the bond is established.
Due to the longer ‘content time’ the show has than a romance novel, I think the show can expand on the nice interactions JQ gave us concerning Sophie and the Bridgerton women. Instead of telling us how Sophie has fit into the family, the tv series could show us.
PS. I actually have the idea that there should be one scene/instance when Sophie connects with each Bridgerton female. Concerning Violet, this is a very sweet conversation about motherhood concerning Eloise. (I am still manifesting the fan theory that Sophie will end up as Eloise’s maid and I also might have that whole storyline planned out. Woopsie).
Apologies. Back to the main show.
Through establishing a female relationship Sophie enabled herself, and even Posy, to be freed from their abuser. Through her own actions, Sophie set up the potential for her own rescue. She is not passive; she is active in her emancipation.
So after all that let’s do a whistle-stop summary of points so far:
Sophie does have agency in AOFAG, however, with a few little tweaks, this could be expanded upon.
The show could have Sophie being active from the very beginning of her story and in other places with a few little tweaks.
Primarily, Sophie’s agency is manifested through her kindness/empathy, which establishes relationships, particularly those with women.
Okay, ok Hope you’ve babbled on long enough—what’s your point??
Tumblr media
Well, with my little tweaks, the three people who ‘save’ Sophie would be:
1)      Genevieve who gives Sophie the opportunity to go to the ball and meet Benedict
2)      Violet Bridgerton, who helps blackmail Araminta into establishing Sophie's legitimacy, further legitimising her marriage to Benedict.
3)      Posy
What do all these people have in common?
These three characters experience Sophie’s kindness.
These three characters have a friendship with Sophie.
These three characters are all women.
So, S4 could use Sophie to show that kindness and hope have real power in changing a woman’s circumstances, (while presenting a complex female character with agency to boot). But S4 could also show the power of female friendships.
Now, Benedict and Sophie’s relationship should be the centre of the series, I am not disputing that. And while Benedict does ‘help’ Sophie in the prison, I think Benedict’s role is to help Sophie emotionally break free. By loving Sophie, showing her how worthy she is to him, and giving her the opportunity to experience a life of love without Araminta’s shadow, Benedict ‘saves’ Sophie. (Although once again it is Sophie’s choice to eventually accept this, and it is Sophie’s actions that made Benedict fall in love with her).
But alongside this, I think the show should emphasise the idea of female friendships being able to instigate change in regency society, particularly because these women already had limitations on their agency.
Yes, these women do not topple the patriarchal pressures they were under, but they instigate change and freedom by supporting each other. And I think that is such an awesome lesson, such a wonderful story of female power to show on screen and is easily applicable to the 21st century.
And in the centre of this story is a woman whose strength isn’t in her fiery opinions or her vocal battle against the patriarchy; but a woman who saves herself through the bonds she establishes. What an amazing (and rarely told) example of a female character.
Sophie is not the antithesis of the typical ‘girl-bosses’ seen in Eloise Bridgerton or Kate Sharma but nor is she necessarily the maternal femininity seen in Daphne and Violet. Instead, she is a different kind of woman, her story showcasing yet another remarkable complexity of womanhood.
Tumblr media
CONGRATULATIONS!! You made it to the end. Go grab a cuppa and a biscuit.
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for reading the piece and I hope it was worth your time.
Let me know your thoughts on whether you are in an agreement or not. Anything you want expansion on? Anything else you want to hear my over-analytical brain interrogate?
Honestly, while I really didn’t like AOFAG as a book, (that’s for another post) there is so much potential to update it for S4–and not necessarily throw away the original story.
Most importantly, I want to give a shout out to the wonderful @murielstacy who proof-read this post and gave me some great ideas. Please, please  go follow her. She has such a cool run of posts about Modern Bridgertons and royal fashion and so many other things (I know, sounds interesting, right? Go check it out!).
Thanks once again.
Hope xx

Deconstructing the "No Consequences" Criticism for Frozen 2
A criticism of F2 I often see is that there are no consequences - in other words, nothing terrible or life-changing happens in the ending based on the choices our protagonists make. This is mainly in reference to Arendelle Castle not being destroyed when Anna takes down the Dam - many thought that the writers were ‘cowards’ for not daring to go with this ending.
I however have a different opinion on this. I believe there were a lot of issues with this idea, and these issues were most likely involved with the decision to change this ending. I also want to point out that the idea of consequences in Frozen 2 is a much more complex topic - those complexities need to be considered when bringing up this argument.
Warning - you're going to get sick of the word consequence when we're done here lol.
Part 1: Frozen 2 is 2 Different Stories
What is Consequence
A consequence is defined as - a result of a particular action or situation, often one that is bad or not convenient.
So in terms of writing, a consequence something happens that forces the characters to change their situation in a way that was not their original intention or desire. As said in the definition, this is not always a bad thing - just something that sort of shakes up the character's or world's status quo.
People often complain that nothing happens in F2 that warrants being called a consequence. No character is lost, Arendelle castle is saved, and it seems as though nothing was sacrificed in order to achieve the character's happy ending. But this, I feel, is a very simplistic reading of the film and many nuances are missed when we look at the film at face value.
As said above Frozen 2 is actually two different stories being told at once that intertwine with each other. Elsa's story, and Anna's story. If we look at the two separately, we can see there is quite a bit of consequence in each in varying degrees.
The Consequence in Elsa's Story
Elsa is described as a mythic hero. Mythic heroes' stories often start and end in tragedy, as the hero has to hold the entire world and its darker elements on their shoulders. Through these mythic stories, we learn tough lessons about the human condition. Elsa is quite literally the walking consequence in her story. What do I mean?
Elsa is born with magic, and due to the actions and fears of her grandfather and parents, she lived in a state of self-hatred. Their choices are reflected in Elsa's psychology. This is a consequence that continues into F2.
Elsa feels she needs to sacrifice herself in order to save the Forest - leading to her being frozen and pushing Anna away. Thus, the consequence of the choices made by those before her caused this girl to feel she needed to sacrifice her well-being and recent self-actualization, in order to fix those choices.
But GQA, that's not fair to Elsa! Exactly. Elsa growing up in fear, and then feeling she needs to sacrifice herself and her needs, is a consequence of those choices made for her. Elsa is a mythic hero because of this, and her story does end in tragedy - until Anna comes in to help give her a happier ending.
Actions - The fear of magic and choices made by her family in order to hide or destroy magic.
Consequence - Elsa sacrifices her well-being and relationships in order to fix or push those choices when they weren't her fault to begin with.
The Consequence in Anna's Story
Anna is coming in as a fairytale hero. These types of heroes are meant to teach the best qualities of human nature and fight against all odds using those qualities. Anna starts out with the base ingredients - determination and unconditional love. However, she has to work a little bit to further develop these qualities, which leads to her own consequences forming throughout the story.
Anna has just received everything she ever wanted - love from her sister and a romantic partner, a new family, and open gates to allow her freedom. However, this all gets threatened when the siren starts to call to Elsa - because Anna fears losing what she has, she becomes over-protective to the point where she is sacrificing her well-being and her relationship with Kristoff.
Basically, Anna's choice to try and hold onto her life and push away change as much as possible leads to the consequence of her loved ones leaving her (in varying degrees, Kristoff was left behind due to a misunderstanding). The culmination of Anna's consequences is the boat scene when Elsa leaves her and Kristoff is not around to help mediate the argument.
Anna has to learn from this, and because she does, she is able to overcome her flaws and ultimately save the day.
Actions - Anna tries to hold on to her life using force.
Consequences - Being left behind or leaving loved ones behind.
How Does this Affect the Ending Though?
As we said, not every consequence is bad - some just change the status quo for the characters. In F2, big changes do happen because of the choices made. Anna becomes Queen of Arendelle as Elsa discovers a higher calling. Arendelle is left standing because of Anna's sacrifice and recognition of past wrongs. Elsa no longer lives in Arendelle and is not overcome with doubt anymore.
These are huge changes that rewrote the entire Franchise. Just because they are not inconvenient or bad, does not mean they are meaningless and that the film had no consequence. This would not have happened if the characters did not make mistakes along the way. If the film had no consequence, then everything would have been the same as it was at the beginning of the film with nothing really learned.
Part 2: The Original Ending Doesn't Work
Many praise the original ending of F2, with the Castle being destroyed and rebuilt with Northuldran influence. They feel that this is more reflective of consequence. However, I disagree for a few reasons.
As said, whether the castle was destroyed or not, Anna and Elsa still went through serious changes that shook up their world and what they knew. It changed the franchise as a whole.
It is actually a soft form of cultural appropriation in a way, to make the castle Nothurldran influenced.
Wait - that was a big statement there in the second point. Let me explain further. Basically, incorporating Northuldran cultural influences, makes it seem like their culture and identity can be used as an aesthetic.
So basically, Anna and Elsa building the castle back up would not really benefit the Northuldra in any way other than making their culture aesethically pleasing for those who are not Northuldran. It's basically a huge statement on their part saying that they're better than those who came before because they were willing to make the castle Northuldra-ish. Unless the film had planned to explain the meanings behind each design choice, then it's literally just aesthetic.
Yes, while Anna and Elsa are half Northuldran themselves, they had not participated in that culture their entire young lives, and we need to see more of them learning about that culture in order for me to believe that they are respecting their mother's heritage.
The statue of Iduna and Agnarr alone demonstrates the unity of Arendelle and Northuldra while also recognizing that the current Arendelle is influenced by the Northuldra - without making their culture an aesthetic. In other words, building the castle in such a way does not benefit the Norhtuldra or really teach anything about them. It just shows off that Anna and Elsa are half Northuldran and they like that about themselves. That's it.
But GQA, the Northuldra are fictional. Why would it matter?
Simple. The Northuldra are based on the Sami of Scandanavian and Northern Russian areas. If we show that the Northuldra can be used as an aesthetic, then we are telling people that Sami culture in real life can also be used as an aesthetic. Sharing culture is a beautiful thing, and participating in a culture that is not your own actually keeps it alive. However, you still need to respect the meaning and history behind every tradition and design and not use it as an aesthetic or accessory.
Thus, I think the writers recognized all of this, because of their choice to change the costume of the Northuldra for the same reason, and changed to ending to reflect a better choice that was more respectful.
There is nothing daring or brave about using culture as an aesthetic.

A Hans Theory bc the Twist villian thing with Hans was so dumb!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So Hans saves Elsa...bro your whole plan is to kill her secretly and this guy was the perfect scape goat and your plan would go off without a hitch.
Well my theory is...as much as Hans is trying to be the villian and as much as the movies joke about him being an irredeemable monster chess master, I believe this was Hans facing emotional weakness. Ever since Elsa didn't bless the marriage he wanted to stage an accident for her. The problem is...he has 12 brothers who pretended he was invisible for a whole year. In other words seeing this cold shut off from the world queen who he can probably relate to (Not helsa I'm just pointing to the fact he could really to an ice queen nobody likes) made him jump to save her on instinct. Or maybe he's more of a softy than he likes to admit.
Granted as a soon as that chandelier dropped he probably regretted it and internally scolded himself but it shows some level of humanity. Hans weather you look at the movie or the frozen heart or whatever, is a victim of abuse. Spoiler alert! Abuse doesn't create nice people, that doesn't make abuse victims monsters but it's clear Hans has some internal conflict going on.
Considering his dad is a tyrant narcissist who values power above all else and Hans was hated for being weak...who says that doesn't translate into his emotions? Sure he tries to kill and he definitely has the ability to seize opportunity...but when it came to a fast choice he instinctively chose to save her. And yeah he looks up but like...where else would the arrow go without hurting anyone?
I still think the twist is stupid but if they brought Hans back for a redemption arc and the king was brought in to be the new villain I wouldn't be opposed. Also it brings the message back to what the original film was telling....you know ...familial love? Maybe Hans could find himself a found family in some way showing blood relation isn't really necessary to love someone like a brother or a father.
A big step in becoming a better person is removing toxic influences after all. How would Elsa and Anna react to finding out Hans has been abused his whole life by his family of all people? But no...we chose to focus on Elsa's powers instead.
Also another fun explanation for Hans sudden turn to evil is the magic demon mirror from the original snow queen. Maybe a shard got stuck in his heart or his eye or both by the end of the film. I mean we already know arendelle has a history of colonization, who's to say Anna and Elsa grandpa didn't bring back a cursed mirror? Or maybe Elsa's sickly looking ice place was a result of her negative feelings spreading into the ice and a shard is still stuck in hans heart.
In other words there are many routes to go with Hans and I'm surprised frozen two only gave him cameos as the big ex. Also if Hans isn't redeemable then his plan is just straight up dumb forever now ... Also if all else fails we can go the film theory route and say the trolls did it. I mean nobody really cares about those guys. I don't hate them but like... making them villains who cursed Hans gives Christof relevance again.
What do you guys think about my rambling? I like frozen but Hans is the thing that keeps me from being head over heels in love with the film. You know....despite me shipping him with James from the pirate fairy bc the novelty of two twist villains who are very.... flexible in personality beyond being flirty dating is funny to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That last thing was too keep in mind I'm not like...smart? I do legitimately want to know what you would do with Hans if you were one of the people in charge of frozen. I don't think I'm qualified to write a story for Disney. I'm a 20 year old who writes fanfic, but I do think I would make an amazing ideas person. I mean if nothing else these ideas would make some great fanfic lol.

For a fairytale au (like little mermaid, red riding hood, sleeping beauty, etc)which fairytale would each member of the RFA and Minor Trio (if too much, then just the twins and Vanderwood) be? I imagine Zen in Beauty and the Beast, just that he's Belle in that case-
Great question!
Zen tells us who he identifies with. He sees himself as Cinderella who comes into her own after finding her dream of escaping her household. She gets the prince and the castle, but what she really wanted was a place to be loved and seen for who she is. That’s what Zen gets when he loves you. A chance to be seen.
Yoosung feels like he might find some community in Red Riding Hood. That’s a cautionary story of who you trust, after all. Don’t trust a wolf in sheep’s clothing, that’s bound to leave you dead. On his way to help MC, he encounters danger that could threaten everyone he loves, so he decides to face it himself without realizing how bad it could get. He comes out of his battle with Unknown with a reminder to trust his gut, and never once someone who makes a shady deal. His heart is strong but he needs to use his head.
Jaehee reminds me of a The Unsmiling Princess. That’s a story where a princess has never once smiled and only the person who he make her smile will be able to take her hand in marriage... and you know what? The person who is able to make her smile is someone who is clumsy but kind, and that reminds me of the MC who believes in Jaehee and brings out her laughter that’s long been lost to time for decades at this point. Her smile is genuine when she knows she wants to spend her life with MC.
I feel like Jumin and Sleeping Beauty correlate. You know, a sea of tangled briars and red threads of fate? Jumin is a beauty with a heart of gold, but most people might not look at that. They look at his status and his power rather than who he truly is. The person who sees him for more than the son of Chairman Han is his true love that can kiss him awake from a world of nightmares that’ve haunted him more than he can admit.
I’ve seen Saeyoung as the Little Mermaid. A fish out of water who dreams of a world beyond his fingertips. Technology was his hook that drew him into the big, wide world, and similar to Ariel, this interest is what leads him to his MC. He’s able to find you through the app he created and saves your life from a threat in this world that’s beyond his reasoning. He made a deal with Rika long ago and that gives itself to the contract that Ariel takes to get legs.
Saeran tends to get the Rapunzel treatment but it makes sense. He was taken away from his family and led into a tower that wouldn’t let him escape by design. He meets the MC who shows him that the world isn’t ugly nor is it a scary place to be, and he learns how to leave the tower and face the things that seemed so scary before by knowing that someone will always be next to him if he ever has a moment of hesitation in the midst of his excited curiosity.
V is Icarus. Icarus is V. They fly too close to the sun when the cautionary tale is to always stay low enough that you can save yourself from the raging waters to survive. The sun is beautiful but it will melt your wings if you get too close. That’s a lesson V never seems to learn until it’s too late... unless we count his route as he’s able to get help from it there.
Rika would feel in touch with the Snow Queen and I don’t mean Elsa and Anna. I mean the original which is a balance of good and evil coming together in a battle of wits and hearts.  Rika feels strongly lost between the throes of good and evil in her life because of her deep religious trauma. She would wish that someone would save her but none did, she had to face her abusers herself as a teenager, and she would see herself lost between the two main characters as her senses feel warped by what she sees and what remains unseen.
Vanderwood is probably the hardest one to pick. I’m not sure what way to lean in this situation other than giving him Beauty and the Beast. I think Vanderwood is someone who feels like a monster in many ways, but that’s only because of the things the agency has done over the years to make Vanderwood lose a sense of humanity. If an MC came into the picture and offered kindness in the face of a man who thinks there’s nothing but dread leftover after surviving decades of Hell, well, they might be a true beauty.

You’re on your own kid characters
Characters that I think radiate Yoyok vibes and why
Adam Banks - The Mighty Ducks
Adam was the new kid on a team who didn’t like him at first. Later during the biggest tournament of his life, he injured his wrist. He gets moved to the Varsity team when he wants to play JV with his team. “From sprinkler splashes to fireplace ashes I gave my blood, sweat, and tears for this”
Tumblr media
Susan Pevensie - The Chronicles of Narnia
I feel as if the lyrics convey Susan’s desire to grow up to quickly. Susan grew up doing a war. She stopped use her imagination and stopped believing. “I hosted parties and starved my body like I’d be saved by the perfect kiss.”
Tumblr media
Anne Shirley - Anne of Green Gables
the song just fit Anne. That’s all I’ve got. ”You're on your own, kid Yeah, you can face this”
Tumblr media
Frodo Baggins - The Lord of the Rings
He wants to go destroy the ring all by himself in order that no one is corrupted by it. He forces himself to be own his own for the people he loves. ”Cause there were pages turned with the bridges burned”
Tumblr media
Katniss Everdeen - The Hunger Games
Katniss went through a lot, and this song just screams her. Manly because of everything she lost. “Everything you lose is a step you take.”
Tumblr media
Annabeth Chase - Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Annabeth was on her own a lot before Percy came around. She left her dad behind. She was neglected. She strived for excellence. “Take the moment and taste it You've got no reason to be afraid”
Tumblr media
Elsa - Frozen
She was cut off from the world; for her own good, and for the sake of others. “Something different bloomed Writing in my room”
Tumblr media
Maribel - Encanto
Maribel could never live up to her abula’s expectations. She did not have a gift like the rest of her family. Or at least not the same kind of gift. “I play it cool with the best of them”
Tumblr media
Ezra Bridger - Star Wars
Ezra was on his own for years, living in the streets. I feel as if his life and choices fit the song well. “You're on your own, kid You always have been”
Tumblr media
Sabine Wren - Star Wars
Sabine is very closed off. She blames and will not forgive herself for her mistakes. She left her life behind to join the rebellion. “I didn't choose this town I dream of getting out”
Tumblr media
Mon Mothma - Star Wars
Mon Mothma’s struggle to provide for the rebellion, and just her fight against the Empire screams Yoyok vibes. (To me at least) “The jokes weren't funny, I took the money My friends from home don't know what to say”

Can you do a one word prompt with Sleep?
I really enjoyed writing this one! Thanks for the prompt, Anon! ^^
One Word Prompt 11 — Sleep
Note: This one sets in Tennis Players AU, before this. Enjoy!
He wonders what she may be thinking at that moment. Lying in the dark on his side, Hans watches the way her shoulder rises as she takes a deep breath and falls as she exhales. Even with her back facing him, he can tell that she hasn’t fallen asleep. He lifts one hand, contemplating whether or not he should ask her.
‘Elsa?’
Instead of an answer, Hans is greeted by silence. He doesn’t want to sound pushy, but Elsa needs to get some rest, because tomorrow is going to be a big day for her.
‘Love?’ He calls her once again, ‘Perhaps you want to share what you have in mind?’
There’s a loud sigh, before the blonde turns to face him. Elsa frowns slightly, then she reaches for his hand in between their pillows, thumb rubbing his skin gently.
‘What if I lose tomorrow?’
Hans flashes her a comforting smile, taking her hand in between his. ‘You’ve been practising and preparing for this moment, Elsa. You beat three top ten players en route to the final round, consider yourself a champion already.’
‘But that’s not enough. The champion will have her name engraved on the trophy, and if it isn’t mine, then I’m not the champion,’ she protests. ‘I can’t have Hofferson lift that trophy tomorrow. She’s beaten me twice in finals this year. If I lose to her for the third time this year, I can’t live with the humiliation.’
‘Elsa, look at me,’ Hans says, prompting her to dart her attention at him. ‘You’re putting too much pressure on yourself, love. Remember, this is your favourite tournament on your favourite surface. That Centre Court out there is basically your playground, okay? I believe that you can do it, Elsa.’
Elsa lets out a sigh, slowly nodding her head. The talk may not help much in easing her tension, but he just wanted to show her some support. Hans had been there before, playing in the final round of a Grand Slam tournament against the (then) world number one, and he was struggling a lot. The result was not one he expected, and he was upset at himself for not being able to save a couple of break points. But he knew that dwelling on the loss wouldn’t help him get better. He needed to pick up his racket again and practice more.
Extending his arm, he gestures at her to scoot closer. ‘Come here, love!’
She takes her time rolling into his embrace. Resting her hand over his chest, Elsa murmurs,
‘You’ll be there tomorrow, right?’ She looks up through her eyelashes.
‘Of course I will.’ Hans presses a kiss on her forehead, gently combing through her blonde locks. ‘Now I want you to try to not think about the results, okay? Remember why you decided to play tennis in the first place, what makes you love the sport, and stay focused on yourself—not your opponent.’
‘I’ll try, Hans,’ she replies, before nuzzling the crook of his neck. ‘Thank you for being so patient with me.’
Hans smiles, ‘Well, we’re partners on and off court. We shall help each other through thick and thin.’
Elsa looks up at him once more and pecks his lips. ‘What would I do without you?’
‘Umm, firstly, you wouldn’t have a good looking hitting partner, and secondly, you wouldn’t reach another Mixed Doubles Final. Remember, we still have another match on Sunday.’
‘Oh shoot, you’re right!’
‘Now, let’s get some sleep, shall we?’ Hans pulls her in an embrace, spooning her from behind. ‘Good night Elsa, I love you.’
‘I love you.’

El Internado 5x06
1. They finally acquired a school nurse; of course she’s working for the human experiments company. Running off was the smartest thing Julia did but since this is a rewatch, that ain’t gonna save her...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love Ivan putting his hand to his face in relief. JUST YOU WAIT UNTIL YOU BOTH GET THE PLAGUE SOON!!!
Tumblr media
2. Yeah, about right! Great place for study. This school makes Sunnydale High and Hogwarts seem like models of safety.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love Ivan keeping up his snark no matter how dark things get (I am now remembering when he was literally in s7 and was all “well you can see ghosts, if you can bang one too, it opens a world of possibilities” to Julia which...man!!!!)
Tumblr media
3. Ivan’s notions of lack of personal space and touchy-feeliness with his mates...(I mean, he’s stroking Marcos’ hair AGAIN in that second cap...)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. Noiret gets such a sadistic pleasure out of terrorizing Maria.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He is generally an abuser but I think with Maria and Ivan it’s something extra - part of it is rage at being thwarted but seeing how he used to abuse Ivan when the latter was a small kid who only wanted his love and approval, it’s more than that - we see in this ep he killed his wife because she found out about Ivan being stolen from Maria and planned to give him back and Noiret did not want his powerful father in law to find out he “failed” to keep it a secret from his beloved daughter and ice him out of business and power out of pique. And so Noiret hates Ivan not just because he is forced to spend his own money and give his own name to not his blood or because he’s drawn to abuse anyone vulnerable; he hates Ivan (and Maria) because in his disordered mind, they “forced” him to kill his wife which he didn’t really want to do (per his warped brain) so it’s all their fault.
I think the only good news is Elsa is beginning to wake up that her lover is...well, what his son was saying.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. You know what struck me. Ivan is awfully nice to Maria seeing that he believes she’s a lunatic with a delusion he’s her son. His first instinct is to be concerned for her safety.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Honestly, on this information he has that is not a wrong response but my heart breaks for Maria.

For the meta asks for writers: 2, 6, 7
Thanks @calenlily for the ask! These were thinkers!
2. Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project
Right now I'm working on a spicy one-shot for Anna from Frozen's birthday and an exchange piece for a multi-fandom challenge that's top secret! But I have too many WIPs that I've already started posting and my goal for this year is to finish them, or at least finish some of them. I also have the Kristanna Halloween Days challenge to look forward to in October (some ficlet ideas are swirling around already!)
One of the WIPs I have out there is gonna get a rewrite. It's a Frozen x Tangled ghost story with a Kristoff/Anna and Anna & Elsa focus set in modern times called "Seeing is Believing, Hearing is Deceiving." The family lives at a haunted Victorian mansion and Anna has the ability to see but not hear ghosts (which she fully embraces) and Elsa can hear but not see them (which negatively affects her mental well-being). Anna gives ghost tours of their estate and Kristoff is the estate's conservator/maintenance tech. Both of them have an interest in Victoriana, and both live with one foot in the past. One day Kristoff is doing some repairs in the basement and discovers a literal skeleton in the bricked in dumb waiter shaft, which awakens some malevolent spirits that had been contained until then. Anna and Elsa (with the help of Kristoff and their father, Agnarr) have to work together using their combined abilities to stop a ghost that tries to use a loved one to complete their unfinished business. There's a story within the story that parallels with a history of the estate and its inhabitants with clues for how to solve the mystery, along with passages from a diary kept by the former governess. And throughout this whole thing there's also a Kristoff/Anna love story and a tragic love story about two of the ghosts. I spent so much time on world building and character development, and researching, not to see this project through. I still have two white boards with the family tree and character arcs set up, along with schematics of the Victorian mansions on the estate! I'm hoping to have it fully posted by Halloween, but I'd also rather take the time to be happy with it this time around, even if it means finishing in December or whenever. Needless to say, I have my work cut out!
6. What character do you have the most fun writing?
Anna from Frozen! She's lived through so much sadness but she's still bright and sunny and never gives up hope that things will be better. And she always sees the best in people. That ends up being her downfall in some ways, but in other ways it's a strength. Her character also shows incredible growth from F1 to F2, and in a lot of ways she's kind of written off, being the spare to Elsa's heir, but then her true talents are acknowledged when Elsa abdicates and names her as the new queen. And she is her own hero. She gets help from Kristoff along the way (and I love him and his non-toxic brand of masculinity), but ultimately she's the one that saves the day. It's a flip of the damsel in distress/knight in shining armor, which I can't get enough of.
I love writing her as strong and formidable (especially when no one expects that from her) despite whatever challenges she faces. And sometimes I write about some really dark and heavy stuff and it's nice to have a little ball of sunshine to part the clouds for all of us.
7. What do you think are the characteristics of your personal writing style? Would others agree?
I'm not 100% sure how to answer this, but here goes:
I like to push myself to be diverse in my writing, so every fic is a little different. Although, they do tend to bleed into each other a little. Usually there's something I like from one that I use for the next story but I turn it around. But there are other things that run through my stories, I'm sure.
I write a lot about relationships, so I rely on a lot of dialogue to tell the story at least as much as prose. Prose doesn't exactly make for good banter! I will say that my best fics are less dependent on dialogue, so it is something I've been exploring.
I also tend to write from one character's perspective most of the time (usually the female). I like to really focus on that character's development, and it's ultimately more interesting to me than an action-packed plot. Sometimes that means 1st person!
Most of the time my female characters are dominant or at least equal to their male counterparts, and usually they're the ones to save the day. And there's almost always a trace of trauma and mental illness there, even if it's not apparent to the reader. Sometimes I write things in layers, one specifically for the readers that have experienced trauma, because they will see things there that others won't, and an overall story arc meant for everyone. Not sure how successful I am there, but it's always in my mind anyway.
I'm a huge fan of AUs. I love writing them and reading them, even just thinking them up and filing them in the "some day" folder. Most of the time I come up with the AU before anything else, then the characters, then the plot. I think it makes for good world-building and character development, which I love. Sometimes my plots get overly complicated as a result, but for them, I tend more to just write it as I go with only basic plot points that change by the time I get there.
I have a tendency towards run-ons and over-using commas. (Don't we all, right?) I am a chronic under-editor and gun-runner that hardly ever uses betas, so I've been known to notice errors a week after posting and going in to fix it (I know I'm not the only one). I'm not gonna bring up my other flaws except that I'm always working on getting better.
I think people would agree with that? At least I hope they agree with the good stuff anyway.

Well that was quite the cliffhanger to end on!
Season 1 of El Internado is done! :D
It’s a fun show with some great characters and intriguing mystery even if it kinda throws everything and the kitchen sink at you at once and apparently takes place over a week? I’m choosing to ignore that and pretend it’s a month.
The show effectively follows three groups: the teachers, the teens, and the 5 year olds, the latter of whom are objectively the best characters and deserve the world. I love Paula & Evelyn and their friendship and innocent 5 year old view of the world, and how caring the adults around them are. Amelia really does seem like a great teacher, and just the way Jacinta and others all melt when it comes to the kids and cheering them up and going along with their games. They are so good even if Paula’s friendship with Gnome gives me many heart attacks because we know nothing about him.
But if Jacinta knows about him and isn’t hostile to him, I can believe he’s a good guy! He also saved Paula from the “Taxi Driver” and that’s the most important thing. That “Taxi” scene still haunts me.
Speaking of Jacinta, the trio of Jacinta, Maria, and Fermin is my favorite trio! I love all of their interactions and and relationships, and how much Jacinta & Fermin try to help Maria. Maria deserves the world.
Hector’s a pretty cool dude too, even if he really needs to get his personal life sorted out. Elsa’s a cheater so I’m definitely not rooting for this relationship but I do still feel a little bad for her and at the very least I don’t think she’s evil evil. Just an awful person but one who takes her job seriously. Given what I’ve heard about this show, I can’t discount that.
Pedro sucks though. No sympathy for him at all. Please run Amelia.
And Camilo................................................ I trust him as far as I can throw him right now. The teenagers should too if someone can find the brain cell among them.
And speaking of the teens... they are probably the weakest part of the show tbh. Not in terms of plot - the mystery is great and intriguing and I do like how active they are in finding answers rather than waiting for the plot to come to them. But as characters?
Marcos & Ivan are really the only ones with any depth and development, and a lot of that comes out with their interactions with more interesting characters outside of the friend group. Ivan’s two friends are just kinda there, and while it’s great the Carol and Vicky and so active in finding their missing teacher and largely moving things forward.... who are they and why should we care again?
Vicky seemed to be set up as the student with the closest relationship to Alfonso so it was weird that Carol ended up as the one most determined to solve the mystery. And while her determination is admirable... Carol herself kinda sucks.
We barely know anything about her. Why is she so obsessed with solving this mystery? What was her relationship with Alfonso? Why are her friends following her... why are they all even friends? This goes for the group in general. We get a lot of great scenes of Paula & Evelyn, and the adults and their social lives but we barely get anything for the teens. They’re a friend group because the show says they are and we never really get any fun, sweet moments between them.
I feel like the show would have been stronger if all the kids got sucked into the mystery for their own reasons like Marcos and grew closer together rather than starting off as an alleged friend group.
Also Carol’s actress is..... not good as whispering. Everyone is bad at this but I feel it’s especially bad with her. The sheer number of times a scene really looks like it should have the characters whispering between each other but instead has them talking at normal volume (or loud in Carol’s case) is laughable. How have the adults not caught on to what they’re doing yet? They talk about it out in the open! xD
Also...how is this school’s security so bad (beyond Hector refusing to hire a private firm) Kids are getting lost in the woods every night apparently - the woods that are repeatedly said to be dangerous and off-limits, yet the 5 year olds have regular field trips there, doors are never locked and the one time they are it’s used for attempted murder. And somehow Gnome is able to sneak into the school pretty regularly to see Paula and never gets caught.
Hector.... please get your school and your life in order. You may choose the order.

❆ ₊ ⊹ 𝐒𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐋 — 𝐅. 𝐌𝐄𝐆𝐔𝐌𝐈 ⊹₊ ❆
Tumblr media
winter truly is a despicable season.
no matter how many layers of clothing you wear, the cold always prickles at your skin, leaving a trail of goosebumps in it’s wake. your nose is constantly runny, your hands are red and freezing, and hell, even your pillows are cold whenever you curl up in bed.
not to mention that the majority of your clothes (they aren’t sweaters) are forced to rot in your closet the whole season.
despite all this, the cute couples on instagram have not stopped breeding their snowmen and you and megumi, albeit not being a couple, have not stopped fantasising about your own (it’s mostly you.)
so one day when the sun finally shines through the bleak weather, you stand outside with nothing but a pair of gloves and your growing spite to keep you warm against the freezing temperatures of tokyo.
you grunt, rolling the snow into a ball.
many people consider building a snowman to be ‘fun’ and ‘memorable.’ you consider it a load of bullshit.
you huff, collapsing against the body of the snowman. the cold had long since seeped through your gloves, leaving them wet and useless.
your butt is freezing, your hands are freezing and your eyelashes might start as well.
you close your eyes.
if there is a god up there, rescue me from this nightmare of world. make me elsa. or jack frost, i’m not picky.
something warm is pressed to your forehead.
you open your eyes to find that your half-hearted prayer manifested in the form of megumi and hot chocolate.
he offers you a hand from your pathetic position. you pull yourself up, taking the cup of hot chocolate.
“i thought you might need this.” he mutters, eyeing the slight shivers of your body.
you hum in content, fingers dancing on the cup due to the scorching heat. you take a sip, warmth spreading on your tongue and throughout your body. “thank you.”
he goes to take off his coat, presumably to save you from hypothermia but you protest, “you’re going to be cold then.”
“i can bear it more than you.”
“better if neither of us had to bear it.”
megumi pauses. he contemplates something before awkwardly opening his coat wide, “come here, please.”
you eagerly accept and he wraps it tightly around the two of you.
the way megumi holds you is gentle. he rubs soothing but stiff circles on your back, making you curl into him until the cold and the world fade away and nothing but his scent, his warmth, he envelop you.
it’s perhaps the most comfort you’ve ever felt in your life.
“do you feel better now?”
you nod, “you make for a very good heater.”
megumi’s arms grow tighter against you and he hesitantly rests his chin on your head, “i’m glad.” he’s grateful that you can’t see the flush of his ears.
you stay like that for a few minutes, basking in each other’s presence before megumi suddenly stills.
you lift your head from his embrace, following his gaze upwards.
oh.
“who on earth hangs a mistletoe on a roof?”
megumi shrugs. you could most definitely see his red ears now.
your brain shortcircuits when you realise what the mistletoe means.
oh.
megumi is already looking at the ground with an unusually shy expression, hand behind his neck, “i mean, we don’t have to if you don’t want to—”
“does that mean you want to?”
“i—no. no! not that i don’t want to but if you want to—”
you’ve never seen megumi this flustered and although a part of you wants to lock this memory up and save it in your brain, the better part of you decides on giving him reprieve.
“well, it’s bad luck if we refuse, right?”
megumi doesn’t believe in all those myths but if it means you’re going to give him a kiss, he’ll even start his own religion worshipping you.
he nods, eyes flitting away from you. you lean up then, ignoring the fluttering in your stomach.
your lips barely brush against each other before you pull away but it still leaves megumi’s lips tingling. you give him another chaste kiss on the cheek before pulling away. megumi likes that you don’t move away too far.
he isn’t really experienced with what to do after his first kiss so he simply mutters, “merry christmas.”
you laugh, “merry christmas to you too, megumi.”
he likes the way you say his name.
megumi hopes that he gets to spend many more christmases with you in the same way but watching you wrapped in his coat, flushed and smiling, with snow sprinkled in your hair like stars, he knows that this will be his favourite out of all.
Tumblr media
“kugisaki, i’m bored. he’s been staring at her from the shadows for the past ten minutes.”
“exactly! that means he’s contemplating whether to go there or not.”
yuji groans, “my arm hurts from holding it for so long!”
nobara smacks his head, “you’re sukuna’s vessel and gojo sensei’s student. man up for once.”
yuji reaches out to kick nobara but it fails in his compromising position. nobara cackles like a witch.
a head of pink hair quickly flashes over the roof, “oh my god, kugisaki, they’re making out!”
nobara glances with wide eyes and quietly (or as quiet as she can be) fist pumps the air, “we did it, itadori, we’re geniuses! you owe me ten bucks.”
“what? no, you owe me twenty bucks.”
“stop lying, baka. i paid for your boba—”
“—and i carried your humongous shopping bags—”
it’s safe to say that the two matchmakers later received a bump on their head (all of them were on yuji’s), courtesy of a blushing megumi.

Day 1 [Restart] 6/5/2023 of building Elsa's Ice Palace
Ok, so yesterday (Sunday) there wasn’t much to report, since Sundays are usually my rest days. I wound up sleeping through church (whoops) but it ended up working in my favor since it gave me time to write out my blog and get everything ready.
Today will begin Day 1 of my journey to build Elsa’s Ice Palace, and we’re already off to a better start than I anticipated. I don’t have enough for any major projects just yet, but I do have a good practice run in the making.
The property I’m looking at is a flipped house and was a bit of a fixer upper (I believe I said that in my previous post) so it’s running for relatively cheap since there’s still some work to do. It’s fully done on the inside, and the location is great. I really do think once it’s fixed up it will make a great airbnb.
Here’s the kicker that I hadn’t been thinking of when I first saw the property: the attic space in this house has a similar ceiling shape as the top floor of Elsa’s Ice Palace. I can easily transform that into a mini version of the space!!! That will give me good practice of designing, finding materials, and all the things I would need to do for the full scale version!
It would be a project I would probably have to do next year however, since I still need to save up enough to even tackle it. I can wall off the attic for now and just try to make some money on the house itself. I can’t show the pictures yet since it’s not my house, but once you see it you’ll agree it makes a cute getaway cottage! I’m actually really excited!
Today I'll be making the offer for the house, then it will be a long road to see if they accept, and ultimate close. It can take a month and a half before closing the deal on the house, so wish me luck on this emotional rollercoaster, lol.
On a funny coincidence, my discord chat was saying how we should keep each other accountable for skincare routines. We all seem to have the stuff, but none of the discipline XD. It started as a joke but now this may become a part of my daily life too. Which is just as well- how can I be a famous youtuber if I don’t have gorgeous skin?
(I told you I’m a performer, right? I’d like to actually sing someday.)
I decided to make the font a different color because I thought it would be pretty, and wanted to make it stand out. Do you like it?
Well anyway I need to go do my coach classes then try to wind down for bed. I’ll see you all later. Thank you for reading!
Day 1 [Cont] Of building Elsa’s Ice Palace
Ok so slight snafu, I can’t ask for the full seller concessions like I had hoped. Basically it’s when the buyer asks for the seller to pay for all of, or in this case most of, the closing costs of the house sale. There’s the down payment itself, which is to pay part of the house price, and then the closing costs, which is how much money it takes to actually do the house sale transaction, so normally you pay for both. Because of the amount of money I’m approved for, I can only ask for so much in concessions when I make my offer, so I’ll still need to pay for $5,000 for the down payment and closing costs combined.
I know, it’s a big chunk of cash. That’s why you need to spend YEARS saving up before buying a house. Or in my case, live with family for a while and just put away half your paycheck each time until you save up enough. Trust me, it’s painful for me to watch too, but I know it will be worth it.
So far we don’t think there will be a problem. We put in an offer to the house, which is lower than the asking price, then they’ll counter with a slightly higher price until we settle on something. Basically, you haggle for the house. I think we’re in a really good position buyers wise in the market right now.
It’s a shame I can’t use that extra thousand toward furniture, but oh well, lol. If it can seal my possession of the house, it’ll be worth it. Once I have it I’ll have all the time in the world to buy what I need.
I’m starting to have doubts about being a life coach. I don’t mean to talk badly about myself, but with everything that’s happened the last few years I’m not 100% sure about my own mental stability. I have major triggers and I do have a tendency to people please. I’m not sure that’s actually best for a life coach, especially since sometimes you need to speak frankly to people to get your point across.
I’m going to talk frankly to my instructors and classmates about it and see what they think. If I should back out of it I should do so now before it’s too late lol.
Ok, NOW it’s time for bed. G’night, folks!

An ENTJ problem
So I did the Myers-Briggs personality test. All because I was trying to find out if Elsa, yes Elsa from Frozen, was an Alpha female. I've been told by a group of friends that I project myself to be an Alpha male, which I highly disagree, and that's the reason why I am attracted to Elsa, who is thought to be an Alpha female.
Turns out she's an INFJ, and turns out, my someone special is an INFJ as well, which explains why I was naturally attracted to her in the first place.
But coming back to the problem.
For a long while now, I wondered why people have viewed me as arrogant, intimidating, or difficult to be around.
I understand now: it is because I am an ENTJ. Apparently one of the rare personality types, around 1 - 4% of the whole population, the ENTJ can be considered the following:
Impatient: because it is a pet peeve it when people take too long to think, most of the time wondering why it takes so long for others. This is especially true for indecisive road users who can't decide where they're headed
Intolerant: Either a point is supported by logic and reason, or it is erroneous. It surprised me to learn that a fair majority use emotions to support a point. I thought the world revolved rationalism. But it was only when I started seeing that most of the richest people in the world are entertainers (read: movie stars, singers, footballers) that I realize that the world does not work on rationalism. The Covid pandemic was the final nail in the coffin because, despite the healthcare workers and scientists being the ones literally saving the world, the recognition, the status or their salary did nothing more nudge every so slightly higher. The world does not run on rationality, because if it did, then the people who would earn the most, would be those who contributed the most to society - doctors, nurses, scientists, engineers, and the likes. Matter-of-fact, the pandemic would have been shorter if the world ran rationally.
Arrogant: I am pretty certain of my abilities most of the time, and I tend to answer questions with conviction (which is often backed up with facts/statistics). Often questioning others who may answer questions based on emotions. Like, why are you doing things based on how you feel? Why not calculate your next course of action? I mean, you can think of the rewards and also the consequences, even when it comes to affairs of religion.
Cold & Ruthless: Emotions, I find, are messy. They get in the way of decision making often. It only make sense to rely on rationalism when it comes to achieving a goal, a direction. Hence, I set aside emotions, and I assume people are capable of doing that too. But it turns out, humans and emotions are very much intertwined, and not everyone believes in or is capable of categorising feelings in one box.
Finally, as an elaboration to point 3, it becomes little wonder why others feel like I trample on, or hurt their feelings - the objective comes first, and worry about emotions later. But again, without good emotions, many will not have the drive or even want to achieve the objective any longer.
So it is with little surprise that I find myself a little out of place everywhere I go, even though I try to fit in. People develop a perception of me based on hearsay and gossip. What I believe to be rationality is perceived as being cold and ruthless. What I believe to be self-conviction is perceived as arrogance. What I believe to be drive, is seen as impatience.
Nonetheless, I am thankful for those who stick with me and are genuine around me - after all, apparently it is not easy to be a friend of an ENTJ, as a psychology blog puts it:
It’s not easy to stand up to a personality as big and blustery as Commanders’, and they too often find that others crumple under the force they apply when they really start to enjoy themselves.
So at the current moment, it's back to strategising, how best to move forward with relationships with other people. How then do I incorporate emotions and feelings as part of the matrix to interact better, and make more happy and meaningful relationships. Be it a friend, a colleague, a family member, and most importantly, a loved on.

There was a post somewhere in the Frozen 2 tag about it basically being a retelling of Moana and making it sound like it just copied that one...
But considering it's currently my new hyperfixation, so my toddler is watching it *alot* and our last hyperfixated movie together was Moana, I feel like I have grounds to talk about this.
First, a disclaimer: I'm in an adhd spiral and writing this while the kids is tearing apart my living room. We've watched these 2 movies back to back today though so my brain is stuck on this.
Some things may be spelled wrong, and my grammar may be trash. Apologies in advance.
Soooooo let's do this!
(will insert a read more thing here when I'm not on mobile, idk how to do it from here. )
First of all: Moana had to do the entire trip by herself because her father wouldn't trust her or believe her about being called by the ocean and having the heart to return to Tefiti.
Even after she's on the trip, she gets to Maoi and spends the rest of the movie having to prove herself to him because he definitely doesn't trust her or her mission.
Literally the only people that believe in her throughout the movie are her gramma and the ocean.
Frozen 2 has MULTIPLE scenes about trusting in each other that are SO important.
First and I believe most important one being: the kingdom just got it's ass kicked by the elements and forced all the people up to the cliffs. And Elsa is like oh yeah, btw, it's good I promise.
And Anna, obviously, replies look at our kingdom, how can you say that?
So Elsa says she CAN'T explain it, she just knows somehow, and it's like her magic can feel that this presence is good.
And what does Anna do?
She says okay.
No more arguing.
Just accepts her sister's instincts.
They do the same thing later on when Kristoff hasn't seen Anna the whole movie, and was just singing about feeling insecure in their relationship, then he sees her being chased by rock giants and saves her, and asks what she needs.
She says to get to the dam and HE DOESN'T EVEN QUESTION HER, JUST SAYS OKAY!!!!
Next: the focus of the underlying message.
Now, I know this is really subjective and I may be the only one who got this out of these movies and that's okay. I'm still gunna talk about it though.
Moana is a story about finding who you are when the world around you is demanding you to conform. Learning to build your skills from ignorance into something powerful that gives you independence and freedom to be who you truly are. Which is awesome and we love it.
Frozen 2 is similar, but more focused into the depression elements from the first one. It to me is the aftermath of depression recovery or addiction recovery. I know this because I'm in this stage right now.
The one where you're scared to step into the next possibility in case it's a regression instead of growth.
In the first movie, Elsa spent it terrified of her powers for what they could do to the people she loved - she only just learned how to control them again when she figured out that love thaws.
So now in this one, she's finally able to be around the people she loves without being afraid she'll hurt them. She's finally socializing and finally feeling loved and complete.
So the entire song of Into the Unknown is her saying she doesn't know if the voice is good or bad and she doesn't want to repeat her past mistakes.
Then by the end when she's singing Show Yourself and she figures out that it's her mother who's been calling to her, and that it's her own self that she's been waiting for her whole life and she finally fully accepts herself, it's the final step of her growth.
See also: the fact that it was Elsa that delivered the line "fear is what can't be trusted" is the most powerful yet subtle thing because it's the full 180 of her growth. That's the entire summary of how she learned to control her powers.
Neeeext:
The focus on the elements. Yes, Moana talked about them. The ocean choosing Moana to restore Tefiti, and Teka being a monster of earth and fire while Maoi is a demi god of the wind and sea.
But outside the titles for these beings, the elements don't have a big influence on the plotline. It's not like Moana has to actively do anything about each element in order to reach the destination, whereas Elsa has to tame them all (except earth, cuz that was Anna's arc) in order to reach Ahtahollan.
This point can definitely be argued, and I'll admit that. However, you do have to admit, there's more focus on monsters and one liners in Moana where there's more focus on the elements and trust in Frozen 2.
Now, I love both movies equally for differing reasons and I'm not saying one is better than the other.
I just wanted to add my 2 cents on the idea that Frozen just copied Moana.
I think the only super similar aspect they have is both main heroines figuring out their strength and ability to do the thing that's important is within themselves and they're all they need, but I would definitely prefer seeing MORE of that message anyways so... That's fine to me.
And THAT concludes my current accidental obsession rant 😵‍💫
