Fake and Real chronology/timeline in Ben 10 (ARCHIVE)

Every year I've to explain that the chronology of my comics is a real chronology of the series (I will explain it shortly) and it's always due to the question about Rook's age.

If you're a fan of my comics/drawings you need to read this, if you're just a Ben 10 fan you can read it if you want (It's just a curiosity).

Many take into account wiki fans but are wrong about the ages, Don't get me wrong, in AF they clearly have birthdays over the course of the series (14-15 to 16).

Well, the "fake chronology" it's a marketing thing. Ben will always be 16 (the crew talked about this too). It's like the character always wearing the same clothes or the characters never grow old.

In the end of AF Kevin mentions that he has a birthday (18) soon but in UA he is still 17 (in Omniverse he is still 17).

If we take into account the "real chronology", Kevin is 18 at UA and Gwen and Ben turn 17 during the series.

If we take into account the real timeline of Ben and Gwen being 18 in Omniverse and Kevin being 19, it makes sense for Gwen to go to college (because the characters don't grow in the fake timeline, the excuse is that Gwen skipped a few grades in high school).

About Ben, he probably finished high school and he didn't want to go to university (it makes sense because in previous series he almost never attended classes).

He was able to receive his honorary doctorate degree if he finished high school. Also it's logical that Ben is 18+ age in Omniverse because he is never at home and his parents don't say anything.

Compared to OG, in AF, UA and Omniverse you can see that a lot of time passes.

Well, now about Rook...

Hmm… I remembered that people didn't believe me that Rook is about 3 years older than Ben (that's why I share Derrick's old answer). Like same age than Charmcaster (IDK why some people think Rook is 24+).

Everyone doubts Charmcaster's age in Ben 10 OG, but due to being in high school and having little height difference with Gwen, she should be around 14 years old. In the reboot mention "22" on his kart, which would make sense that he would be that age at the end of the series in the real chronology (without Ben and Gwen being 16 infinity)

So in the cartoon "fake" chronology Rook was 19.

This mess is because the Revonnah are taller than humans (especially men). Shar and Ben are almost the same age (by logic, Shar is 1 year younger than Ben)

Easy:

Rook is similar in age to Charmcaster.

Shar is the age of Ben or less

Shim is the age of Jimmy or Future Ken. (12~14)

Rook Ben and Shi are the age of Ben kiddo (10~11)

This last one is more logical because Rook Ben says "I am two years older than Blonko was when he had his parting" "But to not have a name at my age? Unthinkable! They will be calling me "Old One" soon", If he mentions this it is because Rook Blonko lost his tail at an earlier age than usual (9). Shi and the others lost their tails at 10 yrs (10 is a symbolic age) in her first appearance (the production mistakenly animated her tail). So here "Rook Tales" 1 year or months has passed, Rook Ben is 11 (like Ben as a child in Omniverse), here Rook should already be 22 and Ben 19 in the real chronology. (If my memory serves me correctly, in one episode Grandpa Max mentions that Ben will have a birthday soon).

Well, so in the cartoon "fake" chronology Ben and Gwen is 16, Kevin 17 and Rook 19.

I'm doing this because many Fans agree with this, but I don't think anyone has made a thread about this with evidence. (There are many episodes and series, if I see the evidence again I'll add it here).

Alright guys, it's that time again. It's time for me to make completely unhinged in-depth theories on cartoon shows based on comic lore.

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Edition!

If you are unfamiliar with this series then congrats! You get to listen to the, hopefully entertaining, ramblings of a mad man.

But! If you, like me, binge watched this series and are now left with a burning hole in your chest wondering when season three will come out then congrats! You also get to listen to the ramblings of a mad man, this time with slightly more context!!!

One of the burning questions everyone was left with in the wake of Rottmnt and the movie was "who are the other two turtles?" See, Rise from its very inception had always intended on introducing two more turtle siblings to Raph, Leo, Donnie and Mikey's family dynamics. This inclusion can be seen as early as season one when there are six turtle pods shown on screen during the boy's origin story.

We, in fact, actually see one of the missing sisters in season 2 of the show. The character dubbed 'Big Mama's Assistant' is confirmed by the show runners to be a secret sibling and, if they had been given a season three, they would have revealed this at the end of season 2. Season three would then have been focused on the Hamato clan retrieving the missing sisters.

But who is Big Mama's Assistant? Is she Venus De Milo, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle sister from the live action show? Is she Jennika, the turtle in yellow from the comics? Well I've got news folks. She's neither.

Tweets from the show runners confirm that Big Mama's Assistant was never intended to be Jennika or Venus, she was instead going to be an original character.... or was she?

Guys, gals and nonbinary pals, I submit to the court that Big Mama's Assistant is in fact an original character that is both an adaptation of Jennika and Venus.

First, let us establish some facts.

In the above images I would like you to acknowledge several things.

this sibling is in the height range of Donnie/Leo (as can be seen when compared to Big Mama's height).

this sibling has a thin shell, one that is barely noticeable under her clothes.

this sibling has a gigantic forehead.

this sibling wears a mask that shows markings that start at the eyes and wrap around the head.

this sibling's weapon of choice is neko-te.

Finally, this sibling seems to have two small fake turtle shells strapped to shoulder as shoulder pads.

So I raise the question: Who do we know that has a thin, barely visible shell, gigantic forehead, is approximately Donnie's height and wears prosthetic turtle shells? Donnie.

Yeah, folks I'm pretty sure this sibling is a softshell. She's wearing her own version of her 'battleshell' from her turtle tot days as shoulder pads. Actually, I'm pretty sure we see her green battleshell here:

And do you know what a Smooth Softshell Turtle looks like?

It's the same face markings. And it's yellow. Objectively, they have to use yellow for one of the two sisters because they gave April green in Rise.

"Alright," I hear you saying. "So you think she's a softshell, but what does that have to do with who she is??"

What a perfect segway question! Thank you so much for asking. Did you guys know that Venus' name isn't actually Venus? Venus is the alias that she uses to fight crime/be a ninja with her brothers/fit their art theme. Venus' actual name is Mei Pieh Chi which translates to Beautiful Softshell Turtle Energy.

So it is actually ENTIRELY possible for Big Mama's softshell turtle assistant to be an adaptation of Mei Pieh Chi without being named Venus. If she simply picks a different alias then we're all good. (I'm assuming the creators liked 'Frida' because Smooth Softshell Turtles look like they have intense eyebrows)

Alright, so we've established how Venus fits into this (aka Venus doesn't, Mei Pieh Chi does) but what about Jennika!? Well that one is actually super easy. Yeah, so remember how the mystery sibling uses neko-te?

Yeah, uh, Jennika's main weapon is a neko-te/tekkō-kagi mash up. (Aka Wolverine claws) I'm assuming she would use magic neko-te until she eventually unlocked her ninpō and got the wolverine upgrade (mirroring how the boys switched weapons) I'm also assuming that she would inherit Jennika's color (yellow), Jennika's sexuality (lesbian) and it's confirmed that she would inherit Jennika's personality (see below).

(also I'mma call it right now, she's autistic and I love her. She's Very Very Serious ™ aka she takes everything literally)

And now let's take a look at what I call "The reason Big Mama and Draxum already knew and hated each other, got into an argument about stealing stuff from each other and the reason why Draxum waited 13 years to do the whole mosquito backup plan":

"No, it would’ve been sweet, right? Like, at the end we see, like, maybe Draxum’s bodyguard takes off their mask and, you know, reveals a female sibling, and then there was, like, another one 'cause we thought it’d be great to investigate, ‘Okay, like, Splinter was able to save four out of six and maybe we just didn’t see the other two and, like, what would that be if they were raised by Draxum and Big Mama?’ And this would be something Draxum would admit to them at the end of season two." - Executive Producer, Andy Suriano

Guys, Draxum in season one is a divorced dad who lost custody. He went with the backup plan after THIRTEEN YEARS because his kid said "Fuck you, I'm living at Mom's house!" Draxum threw Leo off of a roof because the goatman had PTSD from his daughter rejecting him and nOW SUDDENLY THERE'S FOUR NEW KIDS THAT HATE HIM?!

Also, let's circle back to the other sister being "a little kooky from being trapped in another dimension for years." You know what'd be traumatic enough to abandon your parent and completely reject them? If they got your sister stuck in another dimension with no way out. You know what'd be a super good reason for Draxum not telling the boys about their sisters? If he LOST ONE.

But where oh where did this lost sister go and who is she? Well, I've got more on that but you'll have to wait for part two because I am out of pictures!

Ugly Girl Transformation

An "ugly" character, usually female, becomes beautiful after a makeover.

Propaganda:

As someone ith glasses and doesn't feel that great about myself, watching someone who acts like meand who i can see myself in all of a sudden becoming "pretty" because she started to wear makeup and wear dresses and have her glasses taken off and becoming more in touch with her femine side just rubs me the wrong way. And sometimes they will dull down what made her who she was in the first place

Humanoid Female Animal

Mainly a thing in animation (tho comes up in CGI in otherwise live action movies or w/e). the male of an animal species will range from somewhat anthropomorphic to looking pretty much like a normal animal, but the female of (supposedly) the same species will be extremely anthropomorphised & sexualised. often includes long hair on the head, heavy makeup, and boobs where the animals they are supposed to represent usually have none of those, and the males usually don't have any either

Propaganda:

ugh. UGH. can a female not exist without being a sexy sex doll? can a female not be hairy and animalistic like the male counterparts? can a female not have ANY interesting design features/ any design at all except 'sexy'??? CAN A FEMALE ANIMAL LOOK LIKE A FUCKING ANIMAL PLEASE. IF YOU'RE GRANTING THE MALES THAT GRACE WHY NOT EXTEND IT TO THE FEMALES JFC. IS THE ONLY PURPOSE OF A FEMALE CHARACTER OF ANY KIND TO BE SEXY TO THE AUDIENCE??? IS IT????? (also they just always look terrible like c'mon that thing is meant to be attractive somehow? to be visually pleasing to you somehow?? (sorry)

gotta slap a bow and eyelashes on to Girl character design bc god forbid we can't tell the boy and girl bunny/lion/deer apart!!!

Aside from the obvious sleazy aspect, it is also, in my opinion as a working character designer, deeply uninspired and often a symptom of a lack of real consideration going into the designs and/or world-building.

Sorry if It's a random question, but do you have any Stella and Octavia related headcanons? The show barely talks about their mother and daughter relationship (because then it would actually be focused on members of Stolas' family that isn't him), but i'd like to hear about them if you have any

So many! For me, a huge part of my enjoyment of Via is the headcanon that she’s autistic like me. And I sometimes consider the idea of her being lesbian just because there are no lesbian characters and it wouldn’t be an oversexualised representation if it’s Octavia. But alas, she has never interacted with any characters who aren’t adults.

I’ve always had the headcanon that when Via is having a nightmare, or scared of monsters under her bed or the like, when Stolas takes his turn to help her he gently consoles her and assures her that he will keep her safe. And he loves showing her magic because it puts stars in her eyes. She goes to bed relaxed, calm, and smiling.

Stella doesn’t have that same approach. Or abilities.

When Stella takes her turn to comfort Via, she peeks under the bed and yells at the ‘monsters’ that they messed with the wrong princess, and her mom will tear them a new one with her bare hands, how dare they take residence under her bed without paying at least a million souls in rent per month!! This gets Via giggling and laughing at her mom, while also feeling safe. Nobody would mess with her when she has a nice dad like Stolas and a tough mom like Stella. I just like the idea of Stella using her anger to make someone feel safe instead of scared for once. And to have a scene mirroring Stolas’ comforting Via, because these are two flawed people who deserve humanisation. I’d really love just one scene of the three of them getting along and having one or two nice memories, even the most abusive families can have one nice memory—that causes them to cling to a broken situation, and it makes the falling out of their family an actually tragic story.

Of course she’s petty enough that her yelling “accidentally” still wakes up stolas because how dare he not get up first! a lady needs her beauty rest! He’d always get lectures from her about how to be chivalrous to a lady, while she herself is saying all of this with her mouth full of messy bonbons.

I also like the idea that Stella pays enough attention to Via to know what she likes to wear, even though her own hyper feminine glamorous look is so deeply different to Octavias low key skater girl gothic look. She buys her punk goth clothes that are actually ridiculously expensive designer label—to which Via says “mom that goes against the very concept of punk!!” To which the imp staff giggle and say ‘ok rich girl’ making Via blush in embarrassment. Via is the type to act like she’s poor, to fit in, and she relates to the angst of punk music made by the working class—but then she pulls out her top of the range 1,000 dollar mobile phone.

It’s no secret that I headcanon Octavia as autistic, mostly cause I’m autistic and see every young girl character labelled with ‘attitude problems’ as autistic. Stella, surprisingly enough, was the one who helped Via get an official diagnosis and therapy items to help cope with meltdowns, stimming, and prevent overstimulation.

She’s mad at Stolas for always taking her to places that are his special interest, but always end up overstimulating Via—like LooLoo Land and the time she ended up in Los Angeles (which of course, Octavia told her mother all about) Via tells her mom everything. I love Fizz/fizzbot but let’s be honest, he is overstimulation itself. Stolas is probably in denial about her being autistic cause he doesn’t really understand what it means and think they just need to negotiate or talk it out. Sometimes he just doesn’t pay attention. While Stella pays too much attention.

An adorable fan animatic by Cinnamon, basically Octavia info dumping to her parents about cartoons and anvils while they try to keep up with her. I headcanon that she’s been nonverbal for a few days leading up to this so now she physically can’t stop talking. Plus it has the adorable butler in it, and it shows the headcanoned relationship I had of Via being the one person in the palace who is nice to him and actually talks to him.

A number of fans shipping this character with their OCs or their self-ships. Lots of people think he’s the best chad that will easily make their heart melt and could fangirl/fanboy easily. He’s always there to make you happy!

Archibald Asparagus

Seriously, this makes me wanna rip off of my homework and go crazy for him. He’s the hottest man that people would ever experience. Everyone gets that, I can’t really explain why he has to be in the sexypedia but I think he’s also the BEST! His voice really fits the character and we love the British accent he has. I still don’t understand why some people hated him but for me, he’s amazing. I really love his design but well, he’s mostly snooty because of Larry’s silliness which what he really hates. He can be adorable at the same time but he’s mostly stunning and can lure children! Oh, just kidding, he wouldn’t do that to them. 🤣

Alright listen, I understand that none of you guys know who it is very much but I think he’s so much hotter than Dr. Livesey. Seriously, the green colors of his outfit is really perfect for his character and the voice is so much sweet as honey with a beautiful British accent and his cute rosy cheeks. He may turn himself into a frog most of the times which is interesting. His slender body is so feminine and I wanna touch him so bad!!! HE NEEDS TO BE IN TUMBLR SEXYMAN, PLEASE DO IT!!! WHY CAN’T THIS CARTOON BE POPULAR??? XD Sorry about the fangirling moment guys, you know what, I don’t know this show too because I saw this for the first time only since two days ago and I started to fell in love with him like omigosh he’s so perfect!! This character almost make my day.

Aw man, he’s so much awesome and it’s getting way too much better to see him again. He has a really nice voice and I love how he wears some kind of mascara and which people thought he would’ve been emo-ish looking. I love the way he sings so many songs and his confidence is very seductive due to his talents. Best of all, all of you guys will be very shocked to hear this, he also announced the silly songs at the beginning before the songs starts. For example, “And now it’s time for silly songs with [character], for the bottom of the show where [character] comes out and sings a silly song!” Also the same with the ending, “This has been silly songs with [character], tune in next time to hear [character] say,” Oh my goodness, this made me cry with full of happiness, my childhood is back!

Wallace

Dang he’s also my childhood. His clothing is very good and way too fabulous for a character. I love how he sounded like and all of the memes were hilarious actually! Can’t explain why Gromit haven’t speak very much but he’s also cute but he doesn’t have to be a part of this. Anyway, his sweater just make me want to hug him so bad because it’s too soft. This show brings back so many memories from this. Be honest, you all need should love him if you do.

Archibald Dandy

Yep, that’s him alright. The design of the character is so much better than I thought. I really how cool he is and I really can’t stop resisting this person. I never knew his lips were completely red, looked like he’s wearing some kind of makeup or something. He has some beautiful curly black hair again and just mak him way too perfect. I think I just had fun with this cartoon and can’t get enough of him. So many fans loving this guy and want to ship him just for fun! :D

Hot season selfies are always a fraught endeavor because I typically adjust what I'm wearing in response to the specific type of heat and the humidity level at a specific point in time so instead of wearing 1 set of clothes for 1 day I'm a lot more likely to cycle through 6 and a half full sets in a piecemeal fashion over 7, but also I don't want to give the impression that I just wear the same outfits for multiple days at a time like a cartoon character or someone who hates folding laundry (which is true, I just don't want that to be the main thing y'all know me for)

How I imagine the Powerpuff Girls would dress

Blossom Utonium

Blossom would be the kind of young lady who would have outfits for almost any occasion and sort them as such in her side of the closet and in her dressers (aside from maybe clubbing/partying). Clothes for interviews/press conferences tend to be a bit on the preppier side and a bit more modest (collared blouses with a monotone/neutral jumper, turtle necks, longer skirts, hair tied back with a pretty red or pink ribbon, ballet flats). Clothes she wears for casual wear would be a bit more colorful and fun (color striped skirt that may stop above the knee, jean jackets, high waisted jeans and shorts, more colorful sweaters, sneakers, doc martens, and knee/thigh/shin high boots). Longer skirts are ideal because they're easier to slip into in case of an emergency and she doesn't have to worry about being indecent while she's kicking ass and taking names. For my Pinterest board and this collage, I took inspiration from characters such as Betty Cooper from Riverdale, Nancy Wheeler from Stranger Things, Abbi Singh from The Imperfects, and Lara Jean from To All The Boys I Loved Before with a dash of real life fashion icon Audrey Hepburn, who I could see being a huge role model for Blossom. Her clothes would be more toward the pale, subdued, pastel side in terms of coloring. She'd love floral prints ironically because of her name, but also unironically because she thinks they're pretty. If she does wear designs other than floral, they're simple stripes, or polka dots, or plaid. Favorite colors to wear other than pink would be red, orange, gray, black, white, and like a creamy off-white. I also weirdly low-key headcanon Blossom being the sister to accidentally steal her sisters' clothes because she's in a rush to get ready and grabs the first thing that looks like hers and tries to gaslight them into thinking they're hers once she realizes the mistake ("It's pink, Bubbles, of course it's mine", "Why would I wear your stupid collared shirts, Buttercup?").

Bubbles Utonium

Bubbles is a girl who LOVES clothes and fashion (she is the artsy one after all). Her style is fun, cute, youthful, flirty, childlike (affectionate), usually vibrant and eyesore causing catching. She'd definitely buy and wear something that's baby pink, baby blue, AND lime green all at the same time because it reminds her of the bond between her and her sisters or something. She loves oversized cardigans and jackets, especially if they're fuzzy, furry, and/or soft (but NO REAL FUR). One of Bubbles' favorite outerwear is a baby blue winter coat with hearts on the back that reminds her of the Powerpuff Signal that Townsville occasionally uses. She loves to make STATEMENTS with her outfits, causing quite a few of her peers/classmates/coworkers to (make fun of her behind her back) think she's immature and childish. The designs on her clothes are almost always over the top and never subtle (rainbow polka dotted crop top, dresses covered with faces of cats or butterflies, etc.). If Bubbles is under the weather or down in the dumps, her clothes are much more plain OR she goes out of her way to wear something with those corny "it'll get better" empowerment sayings on it. She also isn't above wearing any of the clothing merch since she knows it's going to a good cause. Bubbles loves all colors of the rainbow so long as they're bright; Blossom and Buttercup joke that she might have more pink and green clothes than they do. She has no qualms wearing outfits that remind her of her favorite video games, cartoons, or movies. Luckily for her, Professor Utonium invented a spray that keeps blood and other monster bodily fluids off of the clothes so they don't stain, that way Bubbles' clothes can stay pretty and clean, just how she likes it. Just like her clothes, Bubbles also has a variety of shoes from Mary Jane shoes similar to the ones she used to wear as a little girl, to sneakers, to sandals, to heels she managed to get at a discount, and anything in-between (she definitely wears those furry monster feet slippers out in public too if she felt it complimented her outfit). Her favorite pair are all white converses because "they go with everything". She'd also add matching little clips or flowers in her pigtails, space buns, or whatever other style Bubbles chooses to wear her hair.

Buttercup Utonium

Buttercup's style is either sporty, athletic, and a bit preppy (she loves most of the athletic sport brands such as Nikes or Adidas) or 90's grunge casual. She low-key shows the most skin between her and her sisters with all of the crop tops, ripped jeans (with fishnet stockings underneath) and shorts, and other mesh and transparent tops she has (a girl's gotta show off her toned muscle somehow, she's too proud of it). If she isn't getting dress-coded for that, she's getting dress-coded for the sayings on her shirt that might read "fuck off", "what you can do, I can do bleeding", "free the nipple", or other rather crass remarks that the school might deem "offensive". Buttercup might occasionally dawn a skirt (preferably a not too short jean or even leather one) or dress (usually a T-shirt dress, maxi, or boho, anything fancier than that she lets Blossom and Bubbles pick one out for her) if she felt like it, but only if she's 100% sure she'll look hot in it and she's comfortable. Oversized plaid, collared shirts over grunge, rock band shirts and shorts (with a beanie if it's cold enough) are her bread and butter go-to. Other articles of clothing like leather jackets, tube tops, or her designer variety letterman jackets are saved for her nights out on the town, living up to her fulfilled prophecy from Boogie Frights. Color wise, Buttercup tends to stick to earthier, darker tones than her sisters, but she does own quite a few vibrant colored clothing items such as lime green, orange, purple, and even yellow (even though I didn't feature those, sssh lmao). Buttercup was really into camo when she was younger, but after realizing most of her outfits consisted of "black and/or khaki with camo", she realized she needed to step her game up, so she tries not to wear it as much anymore. Buttercup is also the most obsessed with shoes out of all the Powerpuff Girls. She's a HUGE sneakerhead and she's not modest about it (nothing pisses her off more than stepping on chewed gum, she too is thankful for Professor's new invention). Buttercup's also the only sister who really loves jewelry and accessories, especially chains.

Since I shared Center of the Multiverse, I want to share Chance at Love— which is the Alternate Universe and Accompanying Multiverse of that.

——Chance at Love——

In this AU, Fenris does not get kidnapped by FATE and is instead allowed to live a relatively normal life with her adoptive family.

The house in Snowdin is slightly different to the OG, with two extra rooms, actual bathrooms, and the basement is larger + accessible. Gaster’s office is inaccessible.

Humans evolved to have magic instead of monsters to better survive underground

Here is some basic character info;

Fenris Fontman

-6’0

-22 yrs old

-Would rather die than go to the doctor, it took years for Alphys to be in the same building as her with a needle

-Cat in dogs body basically

-Angry at all times, mean and sarcastic but not usually violent

-Barks at cats, but loved the Garfield cartoons as a kid

Extra Info!

-Once, Gaster sent his three kids out to buy eggs (Sans was 15). They came back with a carton of eggs, and a young hen held in his youngest’s arms.

-The Hen stayed, was named Garfield, and became the main source of eggs in the house. They do not know how Garfield has lived as long as she has, the running theory is that she’s God

-There is, in fact, a cultish following for Garfield the Hen, mostly occupied by awe-struck children

-They all love animated movies, Inside Out is Papyrus’s fav movie, Sans will always stand with Anastasia, and Fenris will fight to the death over Fox and the Hound

-They have a box of pet-toys that belong to Garfield and Fen exclusively, and each of them know whose is whose

-Garfield lives in the house, and has a harness-vest to go on walks with. Everyone in Snowdin knows shes off limits, allowed to strut around like the queen she is

-Everyone also knows that Fenris will bite everyone but Papyrus, Sans, and Grillby

-Everyone loves to play with Wolf!Fenris

-Wolf! Fenris is also the softest-floof-dog you’ll ever meet (it’s because of Papyrus and the shampoo he forces onto her)

While Wolf!Fenris does not wear clothes, she will wear a harness. Fenris’ clothes do not get ruined by transformation, and seemingly disappear until she turns back into a human. Wolf!Fenris will also be wearing a collar, usually with a tracker on it (mostly in Fell verses or worlds where she needs to track things down. She is often helpful in finding missing people), but this collar will not always appear on human Fenris.

The only time her clothes get ruined is during a forced half-transformation, where Fenris is more-so becoming a werewolf instead. There are two level’s to Werewolf transformation, the half-transformation, and the full. Full Werewolf transformation does not ruin the clothes despite form’s size. Werewolf is different than Wolf.

Currently drawing Fenris and her brothers (and Garfield) in Alternate Universes! Idk how many I’ll release at once though.

OK SO I HAVE AN AU YIPPEE!! I love the hex side characters sm for some reason, im making an entire au centered around them. These are just copy and pasted from my doc i made (and still working on so it might be a little rough!)

So, basic plot summary because it's not that deep: Wizarro found a bunch of supposed “dead” characters somewhere far off into the void on his travels and took them in to travel with him. Some characters like Shrewd and Rocky are actively looking for someone, while others like Jack and Alley just follow because they have nowhere else to go. Catarina joins them later on because she feels bad and wants to at least help them in finding a safe place to stay. Chaos ensues. Adding onto this, I was thinking they would eventually find a place to live in “beneath the Surface” or somewhere like it! (for fellas who don’t know, it's a free game that was made by Carla in canon. It contains the secret ending for the Hex).

Main Cast:

Wizarro:

Description: Very cryptic guy but friendly (Like “I don’t sleep, I dream'' cryptic)!! Always calls people his friend and isn’t afraid of much. Tends to wander from place to place, which is how he found most of them. His magic is VERY weak, even weaker than Moji’s. He’s trying to get better throughout the events of the au and does manage to learn some powerful spells to protect himself and his new found family. At least he is able to fight back and can do some hand to hand combat (he wasn’t the best fighter in combat arena x but got by). He used to work for Gameworks and was assigned to Combat Arena X but quit during the development of Secrets of Legendaria and has chosen a life of wandering in worlds/engine (which explains how he ends up in the weirdest of places). Irving didn’t really care too much, since his hands were full with SOL, so he was able to get away with just leaving. Wizarro is someone who appreciates the newfound company and is actually afraid to lose it. He’s been wandering by himself for a while and it does get pretty lonely.

Appearance: Wizarro still wears the same clothes as he did before, with the addition of a little handbag he carries around, a scarf around his neck, and maybe a patch or two on the shirt. The handbag actually works on cartoon logic, as he seemingly can fit a lot of stuff in there (yet constantly forgets to put what they actually need in there). His sunglasses are still there too and he’s never seen without them. Even when it’s cloudy, he refuses to take it off. One change he does have is with his hair as it grew a bit longer from his travels and he doesn’t want to cut it.

Rocky:

Description: BELOVED ROCKY ...He's so confused on this journey and just wants to go home with his pops (if he could find him that is). He doesn’t remember too much from his death, just the forest and the hat lady shooting him out of existence, which he still has nightmares from. While Rocky is confused, he is also very kindhearted and protective over his new found friends. Like Rust, he doesn’t understand the concept of being a video game character and whatnot and tends to ask a lot of questions. Well, he always did that, he’s just a very curious person. Like to crack jokes and puns to lighten the mood and hear the stories of everyone. His protective nature came naturally from his time in the wasteland, the unfortunate downside is how he usually treats himself as a meatshield and will take a lot of hits for people, which isn't good.

Appearance: Rocky’s appearance hasn't changed too much. Instead of the undies he wears in game, I gave him shorts that are a bit torn up from being in the wasteland for so long. He still wears his worn out sneakers and bandages on his arms. I also gave him a lot more scars. Not only on his arms from those implants when the mods took over, but also just from cuts and bites from when he fought raiders and rad rats. One notable thing I did give him compared to his canonical design is he wears a large brown hooded cloak. I don’t know how he got it yet (thinking either they found it or Wizarro/Mr. Shrewd made it for him) but I wanted him to wear something that was a bit similar to Rust’s hood. I also think that most of the members of this travel gang wear stuff that covers their identity a bit, since they don’t want people immediately recognizing them and causing issues (especially Gameworks).

Jack:

Description: SNARKY BITCH. Has a hatred for liars and hates being here sm. The only person he tolerates at first is Wizarro as they knew each other well from Gameworks, everyone else is for him to get used to, ESPECIALLY ALLEY AND JUNIOR. They both annoy him so much. He is still a door, so he moves around with magic and floating. He is the best magic user by a long shot, but his only spells relate to ankhs and that’s it. He says his sense of smell is good…that’s a lie, it’s really bad. He misses his queen sm and he honestly misses Secrets of Legendaria, as he truly did consider it one of the better games he was assigned to.

Appearance: There’s not much I can say about his design because I didn’t change much. I will say that since coming back, he does have a couple of more cracks showing, specifically on his door body, arms, and face. I’m thinking about also just giving him a chipped ear because why not. OH and a tail on the backend that yes, will wag if happy or excited (he hates it).

Alley:

Description: Uncontrollable swearing. Is the reason why Rocky now knows 10 swears including Fuck. He is a pretty strong character too (apparently from dialogue, he was put in the npc detention center for being OP), but only in short bursts. He then gets tired and can’t fight so he’ll either give up or pass out. Known for having a bad temper and short patience. Easily irritated and only calm during rare moments when nothing is going on. Despite all that, he is not one to pick fights unless he’s approached directly and feels threatened…which is a lot of the time.

Appearance: Alley is the one character who died that doesn’t have any major design changes in this au, other than maybe his clothes being scuffed up with rips and a few scratches (he’s perfect as is <3)

Mr. Shrewd:

Description: Wonderful old man and dad. The father figure of the group and someone to keep everyone calm. He’s used to dealing with impatient or jerkish people (see Weasel kid and Mr. Squarrel here), so he can handle whatever fighting is going on that day. Pretty stern yet always giving good advice and support to anyone who needs it. While is a horrible fighter, he is decently quick with getting anyone out of a sticky situation and his ability to burrow underground will be useful. He honestly wants to try and find Weasel and/or Squarrel but realizing how much time has passed, he grows more unsure of that plan since he doesn’t want to upset them and bring back old trauma. “I miss my husband and kid…I miss them a lot. I’ll be back.”. Honestly I think he is pretty protective overall. He’s so used to being like that in Super Weasel Kid 1 and I do think it does come from a genuine fear of seeing people he cares about being hurt in any way :(

Appearance: Mr Shrewd has big ass glasses because of his old ones being “missing” (with mr Squarrel). He also has an amount of gray on his sideburns and mustache as he still is considered a bit older. It applies to his fur too, as the color is much paler. The wiki says he wears a green tee, so i'm gonna change it to be a green plaid sweater vest with the white shirt and tie kept because honestly i like that better. Oh so because he was initially designed (COUGH no legs COUGH), i think that the gang manages to code him in some legs and they’re so small. He would have khakis and a small tail with these new legs.

Moji:

Description: I feel so bad for Moji, he’s honestly seems so nice and just trying his best. Kind of a dumbass and too naive for his own good but he tries. Goofy little guy who’s just trying his best and desperately wanting to spend the time he missed with his kid. The resident healer of the group who makes sure everyone is in good health and spirit (Even if they don’t want it). He can get upset, but it’s very hard to genuinely make him mad or sad. If you do, what’s wrong with you, he’s been through enough. He’s more lenient as a parent, basically letting “the kids” which consists of Junior and Rocky, to do whatever as long as it isn't super dangerous. He honestly forgives Chandrelle for killing him, he isn’t the type of person to hold a grudge (Junior does that for him). He still is apprehensive towards actually seeing her again and honestly I do think that forgiveness comes from him wanting to believe the good in people, even someone like Chandrelle who killed him in cold blood.

Appearance: So many burn marks and a scar from being stabbed by a sword on his chest. It’s honestly kind of horrifying. Moji otherwise has barely any notable design changes such as that. I will mention it here (and it applies to Junior too) but I think moglees’ eyes work in the same way as Olimar’s does in Pikmin. Basically always closed but when expressing extreme shock, fear or anger, go wide open. idk i just thought it would be funny

Junior:

Description: The “Wildcard” of the group. Very chaotic and a “You can’t tell me what to do kind of guy” (except when his dad tells him no). Does not regret killing Jay at all as it was per the agreement. LOVES COMMITTING WAR CRIMES (and regular crimes). He does regret one thing: Blaming his father for abandoning him when that didn't happen at all. He is so traumatized from secrets and his own death it's insane. Loves denying it though to keep up his toxic masculinity. When he finds out about Chandrelle and how Lazarus kept quiet about it, he is going to lose it. While him and Lazarus aren’t the closest or anything, he does respect Lazarus’s skills and actually looked up to him since he was a kid (he thought being a knight was cool, he was like 10). Although being a bit older than Weasel, he is very much more immature than him and doesn’t know how to take responsibility for his actions that well.

Appearance: Junior has a lot of scars from his days in Vicious Galaxy, his child self dealing with the Vallamir attack, and his untimely demise being crushed by debris. He also has some stitches on certain parts of his body that he doesn’t remember getting at all. He absolutely ditches his armor and goes for the most punk/goth clothes you can think of. I can imagine him finding a red trench coat with combat boots and ripped jeans and being like “yep, im wearing this from now on, this is badass”. He carries his shotgun on his back at all times and is not afraid to use it. He’s very much taller than Moji

Jay:

Description: Oh god, this man has so many issues. He is still a meek and cowardly man, but since his death, he’s…changed. He’s honestly become a bit more jaded and bitter, actually getting over his anxiety when the time calls. He’s less afraid of getting into arguments but still is relatively quiet. I know I compare him to Lazarus a lot but they are alike in my eyes. But unlike Lazarus who became more depressed, Jay became more angry. Finally being sick of being treated like a tool and dirt (dying does change your mind lmao). He looks out for everyone as best as he can. Out of everyone, he’s the 2nd person to know most of Reggie’s plan but refuses to ever step foot in there again. His feelings about everything and his death and…them are complicated and too much for him to handle. So he’d rather avoid the pain than confront it. He does not tell the others about it though. Only him and Catarina understand the extent of his revenge and both would rather not let the others know to avoid any potential problems.

Appearance: Jay has scars from the vicious galaxy and his death. But his death scars are the biggest pain to deal with it because they fucked him up physically. I think the shotgun bullets hit his backside (need to check in game and stuff) so id like to think his head, back and maybe arms are a bit fucked. He gets frequent migraines, mood swings, and even can have serious back/arm pains during the worst of it. Jay still wears his old armor (and occasionally wears his old robe if necessary), the only real difference is with the helmet. Think of Master Chief's helmet but with the visor being in shape with the arrow and a removable mouth piece for drinking and eating. He wears it not for protection, but to keep his identity hidden if needed.

Catarina:

Description: Now I was debating on making her a side character or having her be a part of the gang...Ultimately, I chose the latter because 1. Cat lady and 2. I love her. Barely see anything about her so I'm gonna change that. She’s the last person to join their little traveling gang and she didn’t do it out of a big reason or wanting anything. She did it for fun. While she had nowhere else to go, she was feeling rather lonely and just wanted to be with other people. This group seemed chaotic yet welcoming when she stumbled upon them so why not join them? She gets along with everyone fine (especially shrewd who she sees as an old friend). She actually cares about them a lot. The group’s safety is important to her (she grew attached to these silly men) so if she foresees some bullshit, then she will let them know and try to get them to avoid it. She is also someone who knows everything about the plan and stuff, and agrees with Jay that going to the Six Pint Inn is a bad idea. Before the Hex, she actually knew it was going to happen, and yet felt powerless to do something. it’s one of her biggest regrets to let it happen (not because of Lionel but for the npcs that were killed and how the patrons’ lives were basically fucked).

Appearance: No change to her design at all. The only thing I will say is that she can be seen walking more rather than using her carpet everywhere. This was a personal choice by her. She wanted to be on their level and walk alongside them so she only uses the carpet for emergencies or if they need to get somewhere fast (it shockingly can hold all of them but only barely).

You know what? I thought about it, and it doesn't upset me that they're using Kamen Rider iconography in demon designs. It's a cultural symbol with a lot of associations by now. What really gets my goat is that it's never demons that make any SENSE.

There was a cartoon project a while ago that had the artist imagine his childhood stories of Hindu icons as superheroes as a way of relating to it as a modern kid from America.

Although I agree that superheroes aren't necessarily new mythology, they ARE new symbolism, and you could pinpoint mythological figures who filled a lot of the same roles culturally as superheroes do today, especially in the Genma line of demons.

But that never seems to be what they do. Odin was never a heroic idol. Thor, maybe, but Odin was always more of idk a Gandalf or Wizard of Oz type character.

Cu Chulainn? That you could argue for. Nezha kind of got something in that vein going for him with the Astro Boy imagery. Kresnik, Maui, Diarmuid, even Lugh if you wanna go godly could be justified in this "warrior savior from the dark forces" kind of way.

But no. It's never in a way that makes sense. The closest we've come is Frost Ace and it drives me NUTS that they choose to do this but not in any way that might have a shred of sense about it.

There is a design that incorporates Kamen Rider seamlessly:

The belt:

Judging from Kaneko's understanding of Vishnu from the Persona comments, he would probably see him and his avatars as representing a modern transforming hero; thus, he wears Kamen Rider's belt. But the entire design isn't Kamen Rider, it's also a Madonna backup dancer because Rama is not literally just a tokusatsu hero, he's also a lithe warrior. Following this kind of formula could have improved Ultra Odin or Zeus!

A common and fatal misinterpretation of the modern elements of Kaneko's demons is ignoring that they were overwhelmingly and deliberately designed for Devil Summoner/Soul Hackers with their modern context in mind. Compared to SMT where the world is blown back to the Bronze Age, Devil Summoner's setting allows heroes and pop culture to remain relevant to the people within it. Not understanding this is how we get Saint Seiya Artemis and Devilman Amon arms in designs for mainline SMT games.

Not like there isn't still some weirdness, though.

Morax and Orias were designed for mainline SMT but wear decidedly not Bronze Age garb that's definitely inspired by the 1990s-to-21st century. Not only is that just how Kaneko's sensibilities as an artist evolved, these clothes are still accessories to both demons. Morax is not defined by his powder blue yoga pants, the scepter and bison head do that. Meanwhile, Ultra Odin is almost entirely defined by Ultraman; the Odin parts like the raven and spear are the accessories to the Ultraman.

So adding Kamen Rider, Ultraman, Devilman, etc. to a demon can be done successfully, the setting and context just need to be considered, the references need to be relevant to the identity of the subject, and you don't want the references to entirely suffocate the subject and their identity.

RANKING THE GHOSTBUSTERS UNIFORMS

So, in my everyday life I have a pretty basic taste when it comes to clothing (basically, being clean and confortable I wear it).

That sayed, I find costume design on film and TV to be a very interesting way of telling a story and identifying a character's personality and social dynamics.

One iconic example of clothing that extablishes character are the Ghostbusters uniforms: they extablish the team's unity toward a common goal (fighting ghosts to win money and for science) and that they aren't above making their hands (and other body parts) dirty to reach sayed common goal.

But since the movie started a franchise of multiple universes, the uniforms didn't need to look always the same, and their design constantly evolved depending on the needs of the medium presenting the new universe, while keeping a sense of stylistic and thematic cohesion.

Possibly every person has their ranking of wich model for the uniforms they prefer, and tonight I will present my personal ranking.

04° GHOSTBUSTERS (1984)

The original movie's model of the uniforms that went on to appear in the presentation pilot for the Real Ghostbusters cartoon, the videogame and the comics, and wich usually people think of and cosplay as when they hear Ghostbusters. I am not into light beige/kaqui, specially because it easily becomes dirty, and overall is not a good color to transmit personality, but for a storytelling standpoint it works to extablish that the Ghostbusters business is something new and they can't spend in luxurious clothes because their technology already demands a lot of money, so they will have to go with a cheap and weak beige fabric for practical reasons.

03° THE REAL GHOSTBUSTERS (1986-1991)

Presenting the first attempt of experimenting with color coding to make the characters more distinct from one another, this costume design is a transition from something more basic to an insertion of color, with Ray remaining in a light beige tone, Peter wearing a darker, almost orange brown tone with greenish blue colar, Winston wearing a light shade of blue with redish pink colar and Egon wearing a medium shade of blue (turned green in some Marvel and NOW published comics) with a light pink collar. Probably still too sober color tones for my taste, but still very memorable.

02° GHOSTBUSTERS PACHINKO (2010)

This japanese arcade game (with a video you can watch of a review made by canadian Youtuber Phelous) comitted the truly heinous crime of erasing Winston. Having vent now, the positive comment I can give is that I love this lighter colorfull uniforms, taking influence of the color coding from the Real Ghostbusters while also making it more bright and less sober. The yellow fits well with Ray's jolly personality, passionate and hedonistic Peter fits well with orange and the scientific minded Egon looks great in blue (tough I think green would fit better with his excentricity and his love for micology and the practical Winston would be more fitting for this dark shade of blue).

And my number one Ghostbusters uniform model is...

01° GHOSTBUSTERS 2 (1989)

There are two isolated things in this sequel that were more interesting than in the first movie: a well extablished treat with the main villain Vigo the Carpathian, and the new dark gray uniforms.

Focusing now on analising the clothes, these dark gray uniforms can help the team to camouflage in dark enviroments if they want to surprise a ghost, feel more resisting to tearing and ectoplasm dirty, and fits better with what the Ghostbusters do: they don't control any pests like cockroaches or rats, they control monsters that are born from darkness, so these dark uniforms represent that they are scientists dealing with beings out of gothic scenarios.

Plus, when you combine then with a pair of shades, they become a memorable image just like a cocktail black dress:

And that is why the dark gray uniforms are my favorite work costumes for the Ghostbusters team.

Note

How did TK take Gwyn’s death plus when did it happen and what was she like as a caregiver compared to Owen? His reaction to Owen’s cancer as well? TK probably struggled a lot with it and found it hard to deal with as well.

Does he sleep in a crib or something like that even when he is big since his littleness affects away he sleeps at home? Or does he have two beds at home? Does he have a baby monitor in his room?

Clothes, does TK prefer wearing lounge clothes like Kol such as jogging bottoms and a hoodie instead of little clothes. Preferring to be on the down low than show he is a little or not?

I bet he loves Buttercup a lot who probably sleeps in his room at home and do you think that they will get another dog? I would love to see the scene of where TK and Owen talk about Buttercup before he is shot.

TK took Gwyn’s death hard and it attributed as part of his relapse. All of it was just too much and Alex was the tipping point. Gwyn was a great caregiver. She was always gentle and loving, but held up boundaries and rules like Owen. He went to them equally, because they both knew what he needed. Gwyn was his primary parent growing up, so he trusted her just as much as his dad.

TK took the cancer diagnosis hard because it came around the time Gwyn died and he was terrified of losing both his parents. He started acting out and refused to regress for a long time, which again, attributed to his relapse. TK was there for Owen and went to as many appointments as he could. Owen had to force him to regress a few times because he could tell it was killing him to keep it all in.

TK usually drops around 3 years old and at first didn’t have a crib but eventually Owen got him one because he kept climbing out of bed to play. Plus, he was paranoid about TK falling out of bed. TK can climb out of his crib, but usually doesn’t as he knows Owen doesn’t like it. He also sleeps in his dad’s bed a lot. That’s usually the reason why he’ll climb out, to go be with Owen.

His nursery:

That being said, he definitely has a baby monitor. Owen has a couple around the house too, so he can see TK when he’s cooking or otherwise busy. He’ll only use them when he’s regressed, outside the few times he’s nervous about TK being sick or sad. But TK is more than aware that they exist. Owen doesn’t keep secrets from him anymore after TK had a huge breakdown over him keeping the cancer secret. It’s important to both that they have trust. It’s the only way this works.

He switches it up when it comes to clothes. Usually, he doesn’t care and will wear toddler-like clothes. He likes jeans or sweats and a fun shirt. His Little pajamas are usually two piece with cartoon characters or animals. Similar to these!

Though he will occasionally wear one pieces, if he’s feeling young enough to not go to the bathroom. Owen prefers it, because TK can often decide he’s just over clothes and fling them everywhere and run around in his underwear or pull-up. (This is only at home, obviously haha)

TK loves Buttercup in both spaces. Buttercup is very sad that he can’t sleep in TK’s crib (and has 100% tried, by the little boy’s coaxing), so he’ll usually sleep next to it if he’s dropped. If he’s in his big boy bed or Owen’s bed, he’ll sleep in there. I don’t know if they’ll get another dog. One of the perks of Buttercup is he’s a certified fire dog. So, TK and Owen can bring him to work and not have to worry about him being home alone. They couldn’t do the same if they got another puppy. I’ll definitely write more with Buttercup! And maybe TK will get that lizard. I think Owen wouldn’t like it, but if TK promises to take care of him, he’ll allow it.

Today I'm going to talk to you about: Kalys

Before starting when I speak of her, she has since grown. now she is 15

-Her full name is: Kalys Suzie Joivial Also nicknamed: Kalie, lysie and Cutie-pie. She was born on March 20, 20?? (March 20 is the International Day of Joy).

-She is part of a family of two children, so her and her big brothers Ethan . She is of French origin on her father's side and American on her mother's side. and his mother is Hellucard's mother's sister. So yes it is the cousin of Hellucard, Larry, Trevor and Johnny and the niece of McCoy and Karen.

Remind: Trevor is the security guy in Beaster bunny and Johnny is the killer in Halloween special (these are fanons names)

-She loves Hellucard, when she was born he was already in his punk phase. He's her favorite cousin because he exudes the same joy of life, the innocence that she.

-Her two best friends are: Olympe (my Eddsworld sona that I am preparing) and Amandine (the little sister of my Oc Jordan)

- Of the 3 friends, she is the smallest, she is only 1m52 tall

- The color of her hair is "dirty blond", it is very thick and it is impossible for her to style it without her brush breaking. Ducoup she uses a lot of shampoo, detangler

- Her eyes are light brown which are beautiful to see in the sunlight.

- For the clothes she always takes simple things but is always careful to match the colors together. She doesn't like wearing colors that are too dark, she sees life in color

-She is the type to make pastries for herself or for her friends. Later she would like to open her own pastry shop. She is very greedy like Pinkie pie (her favorite character)

- She likes cartoons (My little pony, Monster high, ever after high, Totaly spies....). She also particularly likes cartoons or even animated with "magical girls" (Winx club, Lolirock, Sailor moon....). She knows every music by heart on her fingertips

- She's the happiest person in the trio of friends, she likes to talk, talk, talk, talk and talk again...a REAL chatterbox!

- She goes to the French school "Jean de la fontaine" (even though I'm French, I've worked my ass off trying to come up with a complicated name). It is a school where there are kindergarten, primary, middle and high school students. She wanted to go there to better learn her father's mother tongue: French. Now she masters it when she is with her friends, they speak French to each other. Of course she still speaks English

- It's a boarding school and in the room she shares with Olympe and Amandine, she's the one with the most messy side and the most decorated like her notebooks which are covered with stickers. Despite her I don't know how many fluorescent pastels and her pens of all colors, she is the least organized (the most organized is Amandine)

- She loves outdoor outings especially in amusement parks, fairs, carnivals. it will always take you to thrilling attractions. But she hates queuing and waiting her turn so she prefers to go as soon as the place opens so she can enjoy the rides

I've never read much about the costuming for M*A*S*H so my thoughts about it are informed only by observation. I've got a semi-baked concept that sitcom costuming in particular is somewhat akin to cartoon costuming - the characters don't wear exactly the same outfit all the time, but they often have a type of outfit or garment that recurs and keeps their look consistent (eg Eleanor's tops and sweaters with rainbow designs in The Good Place), and I was thinking about that today (I've been rewatching the whole series over the past few weeks, as you may have noticed).

Obviously most of the cast is in some variation of army uniform most of the time, and the most attention-getting part of the wardrobe for years was Klinger's outfits. Even after he mostly gives up on cross-dressing and costumes, he still makes himself visually different a lot of the time by wearing a Toledo Mud Hens jersey and baseball cap (I have however read that it was actually a Texas Rangers cap because they couldn't find a real Mud Hens one and the Rangers cap was at least the right colours with a T on the front). I also like how he never gets rid of some of his feminine clothing - he keeps on wearing a bright pink plush dressing gown, and there was a scene in the episode "Give 'Em Hell, Hawkeye" where he goes to get a bottle out of his footlocker and first takes out what looks like pink lingerie, implying either that he still wears it sometimes or at least that he wants to hold onto it for sentimental value.

You can also see character development reflected in Margaret's wardrobe; as she becomes less of an antagonist/martinet and more of a tough friend, she wears more soft and casual-looking sweaters and cardigans, and the black turtleneck she often wore in early seasons falls out of rotation (which I regret because she looked terrific in it). She also has a range of happi coats/kimono-style jackets that are her casual.party-wear equivalent of the boys' ubiquitous Hawaiian shirts. Margaret's hair and make-up have never reflected the supposed period of the show but it's particularly noticeable when she wears teeshirts that she's either not wearing a bra or just a soft-cupped type that I'm not sure existed in the 50s.

Father Mulcahy's wardrobe never changes appreciably because Mulcahy doesn't need to change; he begins as a good, kind, helpful person and remains a good, kind, helpful person whose convictions aren't altered by his experiences except to make him increasingly broad-minded in his compassion. He sports a black turtleneck and a dirty white Panama hat with his fatigues and silver crucifix throughout, and we sometimes see him in Loyola sweats to reinforce his athleticism (also to make him look soft and cuddly).

Henry Blake (mayherestinpeace) of course was seldom in correct uniform, wearing his fishing vest and hat as much as possible, so you always knew he wanted to be elsewhere doing something recreational, not professional; Colonel Potter is much more regulation in his dress but likes to wear his cavalry hat (and sometimes an odd cowboy hat that appears to be made of cardboard) and occasionally breaks out a glorious item like his brown and white horsie cardigan. His variations from uniform represent what he loves (horsies) but not a lack of commitment to his role. He's kept his earlier uniforms going back to WWI, as he represents continuity, pride in service but a growing weariness and grief at the futile repeating cycle of wars to end wars.

There is really no need to say anything about Frank Burns.

Major Winchester wears his uniform the most formally and neatly of any of the officers, because he's a gentleman who maintains Standards regardless of where he is. I think he expresses his individuality more in his personal effects, like his red velvet pillow and fine china tea-set.

Everyone seems to have a different bathrobe or dressing-gown, some of them very grubby-looking (Colonel Potter's in particular is so cruddy it's hard to see the point of having a shower and then putting it back on). Hawkeye's stands out not only because of its rich red colour (or purple if he's writing his will) but because it's not a civilian dressing-gown, it's a convalescent robe issued to patients, creating an association with being ill or wounded, all the time. He obviously loves his Hawaiian shirts and his straw cowboy hat.

BJ, I think, is actually the person other than Klinger who messes with his uniform the most. He wears a jacket with the sleeves cut off, he wears bright red braces, he wears an assortment of henley tops of which the pink one is only the most alluring, he has an extremely silly straw hat for party time, and of course much of the time he wears high-top Chuck Taylor sneakers instead of army boots. Hawkeye is the person who complains the most verbally about being in the army but BJ seems to be registering his protest visually through the clothes he wears (in addition to his cheesy moustache). I also like his comfy grey sweatshirt with the sleeves hacked off, and he is the most enjoyable member of the male cast to see with his shirt off. I find him pleasingly chaotic and choose to believe this is how he dresses in his time off at home too.
