There's a poll going around about whether "please reblog instead of like" messages work (as of earlier today? 75% of people say no under any circumstances no matter how nicely you ask) and I find that unsurprising but like. I do believe it's important to reblog, and this is a sideblog so to engage with others openly, until quite recently reblogs or XKit hacks were my ONLY options (now I can reply too!) but also. There's an assumption in the "reblog my stuff" that people want to reblog but just don't realize they can and you gotta recognize that all maintagged posts, for example, get equal weight in the latest tag (and the top tag is poorly updated and often sucks). You have to be willing to accept that you didn't get engagement not because people are shy but because they aren't picking up what you're putting down. You're not blacklisted, you're not edged out, there is no conspiracy; sometimes people just don't like your shit enough to reblog it and hounding them is going to make it worse.

Divorce is hard, but being a divorcé is downright hellish.
Ugliest thing in the world, if Cooper Howard has any say.

in case ur curious, or even if ur not: this AU takes place several years before canon starts. i went with the “4 years ago” date from the original montauk pitch for when joyce and lonnie divorced, which puts will at about age 8 and jonathan at like 12. anyway, that’s why ~12yo henry is so much bigger than will lol, i prommy i’m not just shit at scaling 🙏🙏

apologies for the serious inconsistency in the art, even within individual pages. you can literally see me putting progressively too much effort in with each page lmfao. a bitch been hella busy the past couple of weeks and i’ve only been able to work on this very sporadically. also doesn’t help that i had to redraw and redraw and redraw like half of this chapter. the 2nd page pains me particularly bc in my initial draft i had the door on an angle to show the rose window and spent H O U R S messing around with it to make the perspective work, before realizing the angle didn’t match the direction will was facing in and i didn’t want to redraw him. the worst part is that it looks better compositionally the way it is now ToT
hmmmm i put way too much text slanted to the left and like none slanted to the right... oh well i am not changing that i will scream if i have to touch any of these pages again

My March Spring Prompts! I’m really enjoying doing them this month. I’ve been trying to include as many different Pedro and Oscar characters as possible with some connecting drabbles. 🥰
A sample of part two of "The Lake between Us" (Thank you all for enjoying part one, I didn't quite expect such a response for it. Should I make a tag list for it? ���) Ezra AU x plus size OFC - name in future parts:
Things were tenuous at first but they worked out she’s to call him ‘Uncle’ or Mr. Ezra. It worked better in social situations and she became his little ‘Birdie.’ Scaling down the jobs he took on to mitigate risk was a challenge and were worth less but he had to live not only for himself now. The pair moved around some before he enrolled her in school in Louisiana but ensured that he taught her when she came home in the evenings and on the weekends. The child hated the extra lesions, but it enabled her to be leagues ahead of her peers as far as studies went. Ezra was determined not to suffer another fool and would do what he could so that Cee wouldn’t follow in her father’s steps of idiocy. The results of his care, diligence and support was realized at both her high school graduation which he had never imagined attending anyone’s graduation except his own and to travel with his charge to see the college she’d chosen.
Nuestras canciones (Our Songs) Santiago Garcia x Amalia (plus size OFC) @reallyrallyauthor liked my Santiago spring prompt for today so I felt motivated to finally write another part to this mini-series:
Santiago saw a woman by herself lost in the music, the glow from her skin from perspiration. He didn’t see a reason why he shouldn’t make his way over to her so he did, but he waited until she opened her eyes again and was surprised by him. She laughed and apologized where he told her there was no reason to. Holding his hands out, she peered down and slid her fingers along his palms. The last song died down and the next started, it was slower, sensual, intimate.
Garcia interlocked his fingers with hers as they moved back and forth, step by step. His eyes met hers, pulling one of her hands toward him and placing it on his shoulder. His palm found a place on her hip as his lips skimmed her forearm up to her shoulder, pulling her closer. They didn’t say anything as they moved in sync. Once the music ended this time, they stepped outside so they could hear each other speak. By the time they finally exchanged phone numbers, the club was emptying out and Amalia looked toward her friends as did Santiago. The pair had spoken about the dancing, club, food, drinks, if they were single, music and a few bad jokes. Well, between the both of them, quite a few bad jokes.
My third WIP is one that I choose to blame @mysterious-moonstruck-musings since she fancies herself a sweet Dieter. So I gotta deliver because this is what she wants apparently. 🤭 I have vibes and two paragraphs at this point. Basically, you meet Dieter through one of his PA (because he's got 4 or 5 personal assistants who keeps track?) and he finds drawn to you? Was it crocs? Was it pizza? Was it a two am dance party to Paramore and Linkin Park? Maybe it was all of them or something else entirely? I'll work it out.
My last WIP is one I've been kicking around for a bit. It's a WIP I have with Marcus Pike. I've been dabbling him after a shooting or passing his firearm recertification exam and having PTSD (because I haven't tortured a Pedro character recently 👀) This one is also vibes, still working it out. I started mentioning therapy in my March prompts and it snowballed into this WIP.
This is what I have this week. Poor Javi G's outline still isn't vibing with me. I am going to figure it out though. 😭

Redoing the first post I ever did on this blog: Trying to assign a shark to CFO🦈
The first time i did this I was honestly very nervous about putting my stupid takes out into the fandom, but I'm ready now, and I have stronger CFO shark opinions. I'm linking to all the sharks' Wikipedia pages, for those interested in sharks!!
I gotta be honest, this is about Charles, but mostly this post is me sharing fun shark facts. I hope you guys are chill with that.
Same as the last time, I still have some honorable mentions.
(ALSO i tagged this post under some shark tags, this is the guy we're talking about, btw, I'd love for you guys to vote in the poll at the bottom of the post)
I considered something like the Basking Shark. However, they're quite large, and I think Charles looks harmless, so the Basking shark was out. Additionally, despite they're large size, they're pretty docile. They're one of the three species of sharks that eat plankton! But, I envisioned a slightly more slender, swift hunter type of shark.
I also considered a type of Thresher Shark, as I liked their unique appearance, but ultimately I couldn't decide on a species. I think I wanted Charles to be one just because they have cool caudal fins.
I very briefly considered The Great White, because to most people that's the shark. But I just wasn't feeling it. They're cute, but I don't see Charles being one.
In the original post I listed The Silky Shark, but I'm taking this back, because now that I think about it, I just wanted Charles to be a Silky Shark because they're my favorite....
Moving on to the real choices now.
Bull Shark (Carcharhinus leucas)
The Bull Shark is one of my favorite sharks. It's in the family Carcharhinidae, which makes it a Requiem Shark! (which is also where I get my tumblr name from) I didn't do this on purpose, but all the sharks in this list are actually Requiem Sharks. Requiem sharks are known for being very fast and efficient hunters, and of course the Bull Shark is no exception. Bull Sharks are known to be aggressive towards people, alongside the Great White and the Tiger shark (though don't let a certain awesome 1975 movie fool you, you're odds of being attacked by sharks are very slim, these bad boys are just know for doing it the most) Bull sharks are euryhaline, meaning they can adapt to water of varying salinity, meaning they can do just fine in freshwater. This sort of adaptability reminds me of Charles, and tbh, I think Bull Sharks just kind of look like him some how.
Blue Shark (Prionace glauca)
The Blue Shark looks like a goober. You can find them fucking everywhere, check out this map from Wikipedia. They're one of the most wide-spread shark species!
The Blue Shark's name isn't a stretch, they really are blue! Curious, and not typically aggressive, they've been known to approach divers. They're also known to be more social than other sharks, and sometimes travel in schools separated by sex, at least as juveniles. It's slender, streamlined appearance makes me think of Charles, in the sense that somehow the Blue shark looks like it'd wear a suit, but maybe more like a silly colored suit. Like blue! The long pectoral fins also remind me of him, for some reason. I don't know why, it's not like he has long arms?
If you're familiar with the BLÅHAJ, you may know the blue shark! The common name for Prionace glauca in both Swedish and Dutch is blåhaj, which just means Blue Shark!
Oceanic Whitetip Shark (Carcharhinus longimanus)
A shark with a very good design, look at that aesthetically pleasing coloring and the rounded fins? This is someone's OC shark, i swear. The Oceanic Whitetip is listed as critically endangered by the IUCN. They cannot pump water through their gills, so they're one of the shark species that has to always be moving! They're more leisurely while swimming, and have been known to breach the water.
Honestly, I think this is a good candidate for Charles shark because I just love the way these sharks look!
Sandbar shark (Carcharhinus plumbeus)
This silly guy is the Sandbar shark, one of the largest costal sharks in the world! They're known for their brownish coloring (another common name for them is the brown shark) and their tall dorsal fin. They also have rather large pectoral fins. They are listed as endangered, as they are hunted for their fins. I chose this shark honestly because it's brown, and the aforementioned tall dorsal fin. I was mostly choosing the sharks based on looks, and this one easily looks the most like Charles to me.
Anyways, thanks for reading my silly shark post! When I did this like, three months ago, I was working on this AU thingy, but I'd got totally sidetracked trying to assign a damn shark to Charles. The original idea was he was gonna be like... y'know, a mermaid or something, but I never got around to working on it, mostly because of the sharks. If you have any interest in it, I could do Dethklok/any one else from MTL as sharks. Honestly, i'd love an excuse to combine my interests.

I’m sorry I know you’re buried but I gotta ask, did somebody really just request Toji 30 times? I thought you were exaggerating but now I’m concerned
I've deleted all the requests so I can't go back and check but there was I think five full requests with five matchups of toji v random character. So that's 25. Plus whatever other random requests have come in and there have been several. So we're definitely pushing over 30 polls at this point. My best guess is those original five all toji came from one person because they were all grouped together so they were submitted one after the other. If not it had to have been a coordinated group effort.
But this might be a good time to warn everyone. JJK has kind of taken over the queue because of the toji request incident. So for everyone who was sick and tired of One Piece The good news is queue is mostly now Jujutsu Kaisen so hopefully I don't get as many complaints about that anime. But I would also like to remind people I'm at the mercy of the request box and whatever trend is popular when it's open. This is just going to happen sometimes.
However, if you requested a non-jjk or one piece match up. I have good news for you because you're probably going to see it sooner now. Because I am going through the entire request box seeking them out so the queue can have some variety. That's also one of the reasons for the 6-way poll experiment so everyone wouldn't just be spammed with nothing but JJK and one piece. (Still not sure if it's going to be a permanent thing though. Might be a special thing when the queue is looking bleak)
But the jjk fandom is entertaining to the point where you guys are one of my favorite fandoms due to the pure entertainment value and the unhinged crazy. I mean have you read what these people put in the tags with no shame (I'm actually working on a post of my favorite things you all have put in the tags because some of them are just too good not to share). So never changed JJK fandom never change

Anyway all options are good options, so it’s actually really hard to choose from. It’s much harder too because you’re such an excellent writer.
You should do a Yandere Reader that wants to put their fave writer under lock and key. That’s how I sometimes feel about writers, in particular fanfic writers who literally make all your fantasies come true through their beautiful writing.

Aaaaaaand the serious campaign. I've been working on this one bit by bit since I saw she was going up against Sokka (really thought the Sokka and Ed polls were gonna be a lot closer, sorry Sokka and Ed fans there shouldn't have been such a wide gap they're all such great eldest siblings. Anyways since she ended up sweeping every round I debated on whether to finish it or not. But I've already put so much time into it so now y'all gotta see it too, sorry).
Also noting, most people's reasons for why Katniss should win specifically in that polls tags are bc of the "I volunteer as tribute" scene and being willing to take Prim's place to essentially die -- but there is no reason to believe that put in the same situation, Nani wouldn't do the exact same thing for Lilo. All evidence point to the fact that Nani would absolutely take Lilo's place under the same circumstances and fight just as hard to get back to her 🌺

now that we're done here (at least for now; there's been some talk about making polls an annual thing, so maybe there'll be another orange character smackdown next year. I'll also still be looking over here for notes/tags/etc), I'm looking to start another tournament, but I have enough ideas that idk what to go with first, so to stay on-brand: let's put it to popular vote!
here are my possible next polls (to be clear, I'm probably gonna do all of these eventually, but this contributes to the order):
Obscure Character Showdown: did your fav character lose a tournament, or not even get into it, that they were very qualified for, because they're too obscure? or have you wanted to enter a character in a tournament, but they've never qualified for one? enter them here! in this poll, the least number of submissions take precedent, so characters with more than one submission are less likely to get in! that means you gotta dig deep and submit something you think no on else will
Chronic Anxiety Tournament: for all your favorite characters with chronic anxiety, whether directly stated in canon or not! for all types of anxiety disorders, including generalized, social, OCD, PTSD, panic disorder, agoraphobia, and more
Fictional Dog Competition: self explanatory
Dog Breed Battle: also self explanatory. there will be no tolerance for chihuahua hate, pitbull/bully breed hate, or hate for any other breed
Zombie Bracket: for your favorite undead characters who are not ghosts or vampires!
Dating Sim Bracket: bracket for dating sim characters, both dateables and non-datables
Junji Ito Character Bracket: this is really just for me and the other Tomie girlies
Biggest Losers Beatdown: inspired by tournaments that put other poll's winners against each other. did your fav lose out in the first round? like real bad? submit them here! whoever loses the hardest in the first round is automatically crowned Biggest Loser, but the competition will continue to find out who is the Most Winningest Loser
Album Bracket: tournament for albums. no specific genre. I just like music. each matchup will contain links to 3 songs from each album (either submitter picked or by most popular track) so people voting can hopefully click through and find new music
MST3K Episode Brawl: let's determine the best episode of MST3K, according to tumblr! I want to do all 230 episodes (from KTMA to Gizmoplex), so it'll be quite a long one

anyways, and sorry if this is long, but Woe- More Tumblr Things Be Upon Ye:
there used to not be an image limit before, causing a few- interesting posts… tho that changed a few years ago and recently, at first the limit being 10 images per post to now 30 images per post (you can also move the images around a bit)
if you plan on staying long term on tumblr and use desktop the most, i recommend getting the browser extensions Xkit &/or New Xkit cuz… yeah, tumblr is pretty nice, but it sometimes gets hard to use. it also adds extra useful things to the tumblr experience, which is nice to have. i'd say tumblr is like living in a cheap apartment in a calm area of the city. the place's great for what it is, just gotta be sure to leave rat traps near holes and dont worry about the Beast down the hall,
speaking of rats, we got an infestation. you may or may not have heard of it with the voter fraudage going with the polls a bit ago; since tumblr has little to No email verification, people outside tumblr buy bots to get in here and start posting malicious links. tho the bots are surprisingly easy to identify (often times blank blogs with very weird descriptions + stolen picture of lady or ai generated. you'll know it when you see it), and the protocol here is block and report spam so staff can deal with it
and btw if you want to keep a post for as long as your blog stands, i recommend rebloggin! thanks to how tumblr is build as, even if the original post or that blog is gone, the reblog will stay with you (+ tags on reblogs dont really make a post expand outside of your own blog, so many use this to create Very intricate personal tag systems to make easier finding posts, bc once a blog gets 1k+ post in it, it gets hard finding anything on it... <- knows this from experience u.u)
oh and last thing before i go again (and something i found out recently), another browser extension ive been loving: Stylus! with it you can customize a ton of sites to your liking And with a specific style found in the archive of this extension, you can change how the dashboard looks! even changing the background to any image you might want :D
