I like to think that the reason Clem n Chris are all frankensteined is because of the fact that the two were too far gone thanks to experimentation, but Derwyn didn't want to let them die

just them gradually stitching new flesh onto their broken bodies, from other test subjects who were either willing or were obsolete anyway. just slowly replacing the broken remnants until boom! completely new test subjects. why not just stitch one's mouth and the other's eyes shut while you're at it /j
