ur spn oc intrigues me so much. i couldn't find the post u mentioned this in so i may just be misremembering but i'm p sure u mentioned some sort of spn musician au with him? and i have been so curious about that pleaasse 🙏 i need to know the details

oh yeah!!! my au where dean is a musician 🥰🥰🥰 it's actually inspired by two different fanfics i like (texas state of mind by palominopup and starstruck by peanutbutterjelly-pie. tbh i haven't finished starstruck but i love what i've read so far). i love this one, but i don't have the most planned out for it yet 💔 but here's what i've got so far:

dean is a (probably country) musician who has had writer's block (or the song writing version of this?) for a hot minute and he's been really pressed into needing to get inspiration for something new. sometime makes him remember his two "best friends" (THEY WRRE ALL GAY FOR EACH OTHER. duh) from high school, and he suddenly gets inspiration for a song. it's a love song ofc, like he's confessing his feelings and expressing his sorrow of not keeping in contact with them, and talking about how he'll prolly never see em again so he's sad about that.

he writes it and records it and releases it, and it's a huge hit. there's also lots of controversy surrounding it because no pronouns outside of i/me/my are mentioned in it, and the two names used (jaime and cas) are both technically gender neutral! so everyone's like "okay is this two guys??? two girls???? a guy AND a girl???" (btw both jaime and cas are non-binary so HA none of those options are right 🥰). so like the song gets popular both bc it's a hit and bc it's talked about so much bc people are trying to puzzle out the entire context of the song.

meanwhile, both jaime and cas hear the song, whether it's because they keep up with dean even tho they haven't been in contact since the end of highschool, or they just hear it on the radio bc it's playing everywhere rn. both are shocked, bc like "🥹🥹 omg he remembers me... he remembers US". they've all been living separate lives for a while, it's been at least 15 years since they all last saw each other. like dean went to a college far away, cas and jaime lingered a little before they just moved on to do their own thing because dean was gone, and they didn't see the point of sticking around their old hometown, and it hurt too much to be together with dean not there as well. they were THEE trio!! they weren't whole without dean :(

and now all three of them seriously reminsce about their old high school "friendship" and it becomes painfully clear to all three of them that yeah. they weren't just friends. they definitely were more than that. but what can they do about that now??

well first thing's first, jaime decides to look cas up in the phone book of the place jaime last knew he was at. he's surprised and relieved to see cas' number was still there, and he calls cas. he's basically like "hey so have you heard what's been playing on the radio lately"

and cas is like "um yeah...."

"we should go see him"

"how the hell are we going to do that?? he doesn't just have his home address on his twitter profile 🙄 it's not going to be easy"

"oh come on, who ever says true love is easy?" and jaime says this mostly jokingly, like to break the ice of THAT conversation. despite how jokingly he says it, it's PRETTY obvious from the song that dean is in love with them both still, and he really misses them. dean is SO in love with them and really, jaime and cas feel the same too. and cas ends up agreeing, of course, because jaime is obviously right about meeting dean again.

cas and jaime meet up and are sooo awkward and silly while trying to figure out how they're going to see dean again. they find out when dean's next concert is and they decide that's a perfect place to reunite with dean. tho cas is like "it's going to be difficult for him to notice us when there's tens of thousands of people at the concert"

and jaime's like "we'll MAKE him notice us" and cas is quite worried about what that could mean.

unfortunately i haven't thought of how exactly they're going to get dean to notice them yet. but somehow they do, and dean is SO excited, and he puts his whole pussy into that concert just for them 💕💕💕

then they ofc reunite afterwards and there's lots of awkwardness bc NONE of these guys can be normal 🙄🙄🙄 BUT it's cute and it's going to be cool.

I quit today.

Costco has been a nightmare. I've had a lot of shitty jobs in my life, but I was not expecting this to be one of them.

The corporate brainwashing runs deep. All the higher ups see are numbers, and if those aren't the numbers they want, it's the workers' faults. We lost a team member in training, and had to open the new store short handed. Another member quit, and after a week of busting our asses just trying to keep up with demand, I finally get my manager to admit that they don't plan on hiring anymore help. Our production per person went up to 101%, which means they're making pure profit, and they couldn't be happier. Nevermind the fact that the skeleton crew they left behind to pick up the pieces is killing themselves on a daily basis just to keep the kitchen running.

Most of us are brand new and have no experience working for Costco. Their expectations for productivity are unreasonably high, and they aren't willing to give us the support we need to meet their goals. Our equipment is constantly broken or missing, and we're a BRAND NEW STORE. My manager keeps getting talked to about not meeting expectations by his bosses, and then he turns around and shits on us for doing so much with so little while not having damn near anything to work with. Every single day, I go home in excruciating pain. I'm breaking my body trying to keep up with demand, and the thanks I get are no thanks at all. I'm covered in cuts and bruises, and my body is so stiff and sore at the end of a shift that I can't do anything but lay in bed until I work the next day.

Still, I feel bad. I doubt I'll be able to find another job that pays this much which I qualify for. Food workers get little respect and even less pay. This is also a good opportunity for me to be with a company that could hopefully, in the future, transfer me out of the hell hole that is South Texas and back home or something. But it's unsustainable. I've been neglecting myself, my family,and my friends, just trying so damn hard to keep up, with no resources or support, getting shit on by an incompetent manager every other day. I can't live this way anymore.

I still feel like a failure. I feel like I'm not strong enough, not capable enough, not good enough. I feel like I'm failing my husband and our future. I'm going to go back to job searching, of course. I just feel like there was no way to win this.

A Brief History of Crime

That time of the week, folks, when I've watched the episode a couple of times and I'm ready to talk about it 😌

We got some more possible background information about Beau, and I love that. The scene with Ivan, it makes me think that probably his brother or possibly his old partner, made a sacrifice or got hurt to protect Beau during whatever it was that led to his retirement 🧐😔💔😭 And I'd be remiss if I didn't say that there aren't enough words or praise in the world to do justice to his talent and hardwork, but I'm going to say it anyway, Jensen absolutely knocked it out of the park in the scene while stopping Ivan and talking about "Gil". It's so subtle that there's a deeper meaning there, but somehow he finds that line every time, making it subtle enough to feel real, to only make sense completely much later, but still effective enough to drive the point home, still obvious enough that it can't be missed.

It was cute how Beau's cowboy coat had elbow patches 🥺💟 And I thought there would be one cowboy hat, we got two 💯💯👌🏻🤠 I love that for Beau, but I also love that for Jensen! Also, red/maroon outfits two episodes in a row? 🥰😍❣💯 And his hair looked so cute all episode (me after every episode: his hair 🥺🥰! But also, his everything 😂✊🏻)

Poor Jenny, everyone keeps leaving her, or picking other things or people over her, and I just- 😭💔 It's just not okay. I can't believe that Gigi tipped off Ivan, sending a crazed with grief, armed man, into a situation that her daughter was in, just to steal from said daughter 😡 Katheryn absolutely nailed it 💯 Especially Jenny in the car and in her kitchen in that ending scene 😭😭💔💔 She's so heartbroken and sad, rightfully so, and it's visceral and palpable. I think someone, uhm, a certain green-eyed sheriff mayhaps, needs to be there for her, and console and comfort her 😭💔 Here's to hoping we get some scenes of him checking up on her, making sure she's okay, being a shoulder to lean on next episode.

Speaking of which, so many nice Beau and Jenny moments! They're so in sync he didn't even have to look to give her his hand, I- 💘💕🥺💯💅🏻 Him saying he can't leave because "You'd miss me too much." 🥰🥺💘💕✊🏻 Also "Let's just keep it professional, Hoyt, for now." For now, you say? 👀 One might understand that to mean things are about to get "unprofessional" later 😏 (and I, for one, am here for it 💕) When she said "He's not that cute." And you can see that she's trying trying to convince herself 🥰😏👀💕

I've been waiting since we got the "there's a new sheriff dropping by" video to see why he was wearing a wedding ring in that clip, and I'm not disappointed. Going undercover as a married couple with Jenny was my top hope for it 👌🏻 The whole undercover op, a dream come true. Undercover AND married?! 💯 I like that this is the first scenario Jenny jumped to. And Beau's little smirk as Jenny explained their undercover story, where they're married..... 👀 But also, Beau's the one who suggested going undercover together, and there's not a whole bunch of different scenarios with an adult man and woman to be investing together, so really, who took them undercover as a married couple together? 🧐 Both? Both. Both is good. 😌✊🏻💕 And them being so touchy, I don't know, that isn't strictly necessary for the undercover, is it? 😏👀💕

Also, Jenny seemingly teasing Beau that he could go back to Texas, but actually only saying it to gauge if he plans to stay, because she wants him to (and wants to know if she might be able to let her walls down with him?) 🥺💕 Plus, I don't know, it kind of felt like Beau showed up at Dewell and Hoyt to get some insight about how to help Jenny and be there for her 🥺✊🏻 I like that Beau and Jenny have had this dynamic so far where they're skirting the boundaries, trying to come to a place where they get the other to let them in, pushing and pulling. It makes it more real and deep. But I'm ready for them to let each other in, be there for each other 🥺💕

Looks like Cormac is going to possibly have a dark streak.....? And how's that going to work out with whatever might happen with him and Cassie? Excited for that angst.

Cassie to the rescue again, helping stranded men with their trucks ✊🏻 Something tells me this time however, she's not going to be making a new bro though. Which, I do like that they're being very gung ho on her and Beau having a very "bros being bros" thing, because after everything that went down with Cody, I don't think realistically, Jenny and Cassie's friendship can afford another instance of having a love triangle like that.

I went into the episode thinking Emily couldn't possibly get any more annoying and obnoxious, and then the whole episode Emily was like, did someone say I couldn't get more annoying and obnoxious? Watch this.gif. Like, A, her continuing to get involved in things that she has no business is bad enough, now Avery too? And the knife thing is so over the top, after treating Beau like trash for two episodes and (the better part of the past year and more, presumably). Like, now she cares about her father? Yeah, sure, very believable, really feeling the love, definitely not too little, too late. And of course, she never could be bothered to even pick up his calls, but now she wants to call him, not to talk to him, not to let him know she's okay so he won't be worried, but to send him on her personal errands. Okay 🙄

Carla's going to be showing up soon, and we've seen the interviews about how there might be lingering feelings, but the last thing I want is for Beau to be running after Carla, a woman who already left him once, and humiliating himself like that. That's something I just don't want for him, regardless of everything else. So I'm really hoping that this storyline doesn't go down some reconciliation path, but rather him realizing that he's over her, and has just been holding on to some idea of the family he used to have. He deserves more than to be running after her. And there's clearly something between Beau and Jenny, where the natural progression is them getting together, AND let's just say if they hurt my girl Jenny, by having a man leave her, running after a different woman, a third time, that's just not okay on so many levels. And these two facts taken together, well, am I saying Beau and Jenny endgame solves all our problems? No, but it solves 98% of them (I still want a scene where Jenny has to be held back physically, preferably by Beau so she doesn't get in trouble, from decking Carla and/or Avery).

Walt might be a killer, but he's such a fun character to watch, I'm hoping to see more scenes with him soon. He did essentially kill Mark, but I'm not convinced he's the only danger lurking around those woods 😱👻

i'm so glad you asked. i have suddenly forgotten every single tv show i've ever seen. house md, buffy the vampire slayer, and perhaps 1923? idk if i'd call it one of my favorites of all time but i watched it recently and really enjoyed!

⭐️ what is one of your biggest accomplishments? Why is it so important to you?

hmmm that's a hard one! for now, i'd say learning to edit audio! it's a passion project/skill i've been meaning to learn for years and i did actually start learning a few years ago! i love adding sound effects to songs, making atrocious unreleased tracks sound a little more listenable, making mashups, whatever! it's hard for me (as i'm sure it's hard for so many people) to admit i don't know how to do something and dive into something i've never done before, so letting all the fear subside and learning regardless is so freeing. it helped me learn to admit when i don't know or understand something.

ironically, my piercings! i wish i had more but alas, jobs...

There's nothing worse than a lacklustre final match, but this one was a mix of boring (girst half) and nerve-wracking (the rest of it). Mbappe living up to his Ninja Turtle persona, I mean they really needed to have a talk cause ☠ I don't pay much attention to PSG, but I'm surprised they're not doing better, I remember they didn't make it to quarter finals last season, but then Barcelona didn't even left the group stage so 🤔

I was never a huge fan of Messi (I know he's good he just annoyed me like most Barca players ajhdiajsjsnsjdhsjsj not as much as Pique or Busquets 🔪) but then Neymar happened and he took the annoying crown. But yeah I know they're both talented, I just don't like watching them 😅 even though they're out of Barca

As a 35yr old gay guy, Heartstopper made me depressed. Don’t get me wrong I loved the show. My gay heart LOVES Heartstopper. I read all 4 graphic novels in a day. I’m glad it has great representation for teens and a mostly believable storyline. I didn’t get much of that growing up. Just a Marco in Degrassi 🙄. Still it made me depressed. I know it’s because I feel like I missed out on something when I was that age. High school in Texas in the early 2000s 💔. It wasn’t as awful as it could have been but the gay dating scene… not a lot of options. Plus I did my best to fly under the radar. I was out but couldn’t fully be myself. I also didn’t know who I was yet. So when I watched this it made me sad. Happy and sad. I know if I could go back and redo high school not a lot would change. I wouldn’t care as much of what people thought. Dating would still be the same. No one came out until after high school. I didn’t get the “healthy” teenage romance my friends had. I’m happily married now and wouldn’t change a thing. I just needed to get this off my chest. Photos for 2004-2006 reference.

Omg this last episode was SO good in places and the only ok in others. After May Day which had some missed opportunities of elevating the episode ( like Athena’s reaction) but was still overall perfection, this episode just felt like it was actually missing something? I think it was the pacing?

Like, E*die being in TX felt kinda out of place because of how low key that storyline was vs what was going on with the firefam back in LA. And there was like no buildup to Jonah being crazy, I know suspicions started last week but it was like immediately confirmed he was evil and then literal minutes later after being suspended (cause Hen wasn’t even home yet) he managed to kidnap Chim and have him on a wholeass table with restraints? How did he get Hen and Chim out of the the apartment building with no one noticing? Wtf? Couldn’t we have had at least a call or two where people where suspicious and watched him like a hawk and then there were some misdirects? Or something other than immediate and abrupt confirmation?

Also, as you mentioned, I feel like Bobby would have noticed something off with Jonah AND Hen FREAKIN HATED ALL THE REPLACEMENTS! Hence Bobby saying she can’t hate all the days that end in y. Jonah wasn’t the odd one out. He was just the one calling her out on her unfair treatment so no, I don’t buy that Hen knew. Also she’s not always right. 🙄

That felt weird but Aisha and Kenny KILLED IT! I’ll forgive some of the tv suspension of belief because they are amazing and I adored their chaotic detective duo. And the scene at the end where they are are planning on breaking out and their heart to heart was just perfection. Breaking into Bobby’s office was also a highlight. Chim just constant panic mode and wiping down his prints? Bobby’s password? I feel like that’s the password that IT sets you to with when you first start a job and you’re supposed to change it but Bobby never did? Cause his actual password would be something like flanisthebomb118 🤣

The Grant-Nash fam moments were perfection! Bobby is still so worried about May and I loved the scene after the funeral. They are all dealing with so much but I love that they are processing it together. The Bathena scene in the bedroom too, I was momentarily distracted from the overall sweetness by Bobby in the tight shortsleeved T-shirt 👀 and I love that Athena always has a full matching robe and slip set because she always looks gorgeous and how Bobby even manages to have actual conversations with her while she’s dressed like that I have no idea. I digress tho.

But her concern for him is starting 👀. And Bobby punching Jonah and his immediate apologies to Chim and Hen like it’s his fault? He already blames himself and I hate it so much. 😭 he carried so much guilt over things that are NOT his fault and it breaks my heart to see him starting to break. The scene at the table after, when he’s icing his hand and he’s blaming himself because he let Jonah into the 118 😭 💔 someone give that man a hug

i loved that she has to put his hand back in the ice bath, he really is a terrible patient 🤣

I’m really excited ( also so sad because it’s the last one) to see the next episode and we are finally getting Bobby breakdown 😭I’m not ready

Yeah I'm definitely agreeing with you on just about all counts.

The pacing, particularly when it came to the completely out of place Texas stuff (which I legit think was there because he's moving back to texas next episode) was very strange, and if you spend more than five minutes thinking about the actual plot of it it's not actually all that good, especially the setup of it all.

However, the excellent performances of Bryce, Kenneth, Tracie, and especially Aisha definitely still pulled me into it.

Also I'm sorry but Bobby's actual password, if he had ever changed it from what IT set up for him (which means he also would have changed it again after falling in love with Athena), would have been athena_foreverlove. That's just facts 😂

Also YEEEESSSS!!! Like the Grant Nash fam weren't the main focus of the episode but they delivered when they were onscreen. Like every single scene hurt me in some way, whether that be because of how beautiful it was or because of how heartbreaking it was, but it was all PERFECT!!! And yeah Bobby is a stronger man than I (and Athena a stronger woman than I) because I had a VERY hard time paying attention to what they were saying during that scene in the bedroom because they both looked so good! 🥵

And I know like??? I've been manifesting a Bobby breakdown for the past YEAR!!! BUT NO I TAKE IT ALL BACK BECAUSE THIS HUUUUUURRRRTTTSSSS!!!

It's going to be SO GOOD though!❤️❤️❤️

I’ve been snowed in for the past three days so the cooking was sweet to read! Do you have headcanons for Knuckle and Shoots childhoods and/or families?

I'm so sorry for the late reply. Three days??? Wow. It makes me think if whenever we had that surprise snow storm last Jan/Feb in Texas. I was snowed in for a week with barely any groceries. 💔 So I hope wherever you are you're safe and sound. Or if you're used to the snow around there, then yay!

I've genuinely thought about this for both of them, and it's a little hard to fill in those missing gaps of backstory. Let's see...

(Warning: This is long! 😌 And it ended up being quite sad, with a lot of angst.)

Knuckle and Shoot's Story... 💔

I feel like I'm about to write an essay approaching this topic. No grades please!! I'm not that smart!!

Knuckle Bine

When Gon asks him about why he became a Beast Hunter, he explains, "...It's a long story." He doesn't want to remember, doesn't care to being it up. He wants to forget. And that's all we know of him, as the viewer, along with his rather vocal personality and character traits.

As a child, Knuckle was rambunctious. He was a good boy, minded his mother...but had the delinquent attitude pretty early in his life. Not just as an adult. His mom would help him style his hair in the mornings, until he learned how to do a pompadour himself.

Knuckle's childhood through his grade school to teenage years...were troubling. The only backstory we have of Knuckle is him running away from the police to help his friend. That has been a bad habit of his. Running. And being chased by law enforcement, of course. Knuckle got into fights a lot growing up, bullied on top of that. He even got in trouble for things other kids accused him of. Another form of bullying from the other kids who didn't like him that much.

Majority of the time, however, he wasn't caught by the police, or anyone else. Knuckle was a very good runner, and still is. He is fast.

At some point after graduating high school, he decided to go to college. To start over, to stop everything following him from his childhood. Part of it was his own decision, but...his mom also was part of his reasoning too. She encouraged him to go, kept pushing him as she did all his life. She wanted nothing but the best for him, and, despite all of the trouble he had caused and been in prior, all of her scolding and groundings, she knew that he was a good boy. That he could accomplish great things, do amazing things, for that she knew how kind hearted he was, how he cared for others and fought for a better world around them. Knuckle appreciated him mom, more so when she pushed him more in the right direction.

Knuckle had decided to become a Hunter once he was about to graduate. Some things from his past kept haunting him, people he had fought with or that had bullied him pestered about things he really wanted to forget. Sadly, keeping himself busy and getting away from it all wasn't going to make this go away.

Knuckle drops everything, and attends the Hunter exam. He pushes through until he passes.

After officially becoming a Hunter, he had met Morel by chance. Maybe on a mission he was invited to be apart of, or maybe Morel was looking for students to teach, and word of mouth just got around about him. Knuckle was practically begging him to teach him how to become a better Hunter. Morel had been annoyed by him the first times they had worked together, as he tried to teach him well...but in the end, Knuckle looked up to him so much, admired him. Like the father he never really had growing up all these years. He was thankful.

He doesn't end up meeting Shoot until a year or so after he had studied under Morel. Knuckle was definitely iffy about the guy whenever he first met him, keeping up his intimidating delinquent energy around him. Slowly, he discovered that he had that same intimidation, with how quiet and reserved he was, a bit scary looking. And, even more slowly, he discovered Shoot was a total coward when it came down to it. He was a crybaby! Knuckle tended to tease him, and call him out on all of it.

This sweet boy still keeps in contact with his dear mother, who will never forget the day she went ballistic over how he sounded over the phone that day, exclaiming, "I'm going to become a Hunter!" ...Though, after the shock of the situation...she was proud. Proud of him for wanting to do something like that, continuing the path of becoming a better person. She still scolds him about finishing school, rather playfully.

Shoot McMahon

When it comes to Shoot, any backstory is a complete mystery. All we know for him are his name, age, and what type of Hunter he is. Any backstory that we are able to think of has to be by context clues alone, which leads to a past that could be quite troubling for Shoot. Possibly traumatizing.

Even at a young age, Shoot was quiet and reserved. Very shy, timid, not good at meeting new people or talking to others. It doesn't help that others bullied him for many years for the way that he naturally looks. Even when he had both of his arms. Regardless of this, Shoot was a good boy growing up, attending school as normal, minded his parents and other adults, though keeping to himself.

Shoot wasn't close to any family, siblings or relatives, sadly. Mostly due to him keeping himself locked away from most contact, physical or not, on reflex. He did love and appreciate his mother, who was the only one who understood that he was just that way.

Shoot...greatly dislikes conflict. Growing up being bullied led him to being hit and shoved a lot, though he refused to fight back for himself. If siblings or relatives did the same, even if it was more verbal, he wouldn't speak up. Both of these things, he has tried, but failed. So he doesn't fight back. He can't stand the thought of hurting another person.

The environments he ended up growing up in led him to cowardice. Fear. He was left feeling weak, alone, worthless. Shoot tried to be brave, fighting himself to stay alive...but it was taking a heavy toll on him, especially growing up through his teenage and young adult years. He thought he was worth more by not being here any longer.

Once he became an adult, he decided that everything was going to change. He will take the Hunter exam, and pass it, in order to become stronger, to actually fight for himself and come out of his shell. And he did.

Things changed drastically.

Shoot was about early twenties whenever he lost his arm. It was on one of his first missions, fighting a battle that had turned to the absolute worst. Somehow, something had caught his arm, and ripped it off. All he could do, after he had defeated whatever he was fighting, was tighten the chain caught around the lower half of his shoulder, slowing down anymore blood he was losing. Weak, and exhausted, Shoot screams in frustration, tears pouring. It takes him a while until he can get to a hospital.

Losing his arm discouraged him from fighting, as he strictly trained by himself for a year or so, learning how to conjure those Nen hands he is so good at using. The extra help was needed, though he had his reliable birdcage already. Shoot received even more help whenever he had met Morel, by chance, as he was looking to teach his own students. He was trying not to be afraid of seeking help...despite the troubles he had with Morel along the way, with the way that Shoot was. Morel was a little sympathetic with him.

Knuckle meets him after discovering Morel had taken another student. Which didn't really go well for a while, until they had trained together and fought alongside each other. It took some time until Shoot spoke to him, intimidated by Knuckle's energy and appearance. It could have been worse. Just took them some time to get used to each other.

Before Shoot had lost his arm, after passing the exam, he got his extra piercing and cuff (to go along with his already pierced years from his teenage years), and then got his star tattoo. Shoot just wanted to get them after he had the money to do so. Shoot is happy he decided it on a whim, much like his choice to become a Hunter. A little celebration, if you will. Back then, he was trying to find his style. After training more under Morel, he had the habit of hiding his lost arm around anyone other than him or Knuckle, so we started wearing the purple robes he always wears. He only shows it whenever he's getting ready to fight. As for his hair...he has always braided it or tied it up in some way, even though he wore his hair down more growing up since it was short to medium length. Just so he can have it out of his way. His mother taught him how to do it when he was younger.
