The dbh fandom would be a lot more tolerable if Connor stans realised the misogyny behind loving machine Connor and hating North.
Machine Connor is violent for no reason other than his programming and spite. North is violent because she has only ever been treated with violence, she has been violated beyond belief and her hatred for humans is a natural response to her trauma. Her understanding of humans only responding to violence is also actually correct. Not to mention expressing her beliefs to Markus is the same shit others characters in the game (Hank to Connor, Josh to Markus, Luther to Kara) also do, but no one finds them annoying. I wonder why.

with all the changes that clown is doing to twitter, and the increase in tumblr users because of it, i'd like to give a kind reminder that minors, blank blogs, and ageless blogs will be blocked.
i can't control what minors do or don't do here, hell, i can't control what anyone does here, but i want to minimise the possibility of minors seeing my posts. so if you follow me, and you explicitly state that you're a minor, you'll be blocked. if your blog is completely blank (no posts, no pfp, no header, no bio, no nothing), you'll also be blocked.
if you've got a legitimate blog, but don't have any indication of being an adult (anything in your bio that let's people now you're certainly not a minor, like 18+, the 90's decade, the year you were born, your actual age, or just the word "adult"), i'll give you the benefit of the doubt and just soft-block you. if i soft-block you multiple times and you still haven't added an age indicator to your blog, you'll be blocked.
this last thing is something that I personally do, but don't be surprised if other writers straight up block you from the get-go. if you suddenly realise that all your favourite writers' blogs are gone, it's very likely that you've just been blocked.

I'm replaying horizon zero dawn and something just hits different about the game now that I have more life experience and go through life a little bit more consciously. Aloy not being born from a loving mother, causing her to be an outcast by her own tribe (the Nora) who believe in Mother Earth as their one true Mother, truly no longer can be outrun as something incredibly and profoundly painful when you, yourself, have realized you never truly were loved by a mother figure in your life.
And then the quest you get in the hunters lodge, where you meet Talanah, and Aloy bonds with her and tells her she somewhat understands being treaten like trash. The lines "Now everywhere I go I am Aloy of the Nora. It should be Aloy despite the Nora" runs deep, because not only does she acknowledge that she has lived through all the pain, but she also decides to rise above all that by traveling the world and helping others wherever she goes. Despite what the Nora have put her through, despite being shunned and never getting a helping hand herself, despite not knowing who she is... She is Aloy, at the end of every damning day. And that's all there is to it.

all this oppenheimer discourse reminds me of that time in middle school they had us write and essay and make a slideshow about whether bombing japan was necessary with the implication that they wanted us to think it was necessary and made sure that everyone’s essay said it was necessary at the end by always contradicting anyone who said otherwise until they fell in and agreed on presentation day. i mean going around critiquing anyone who was having second thoughts ‘well yeah but the prevention of prolonged war and death of us solider??’ they showed interviews of people from hiroshima and nagasaki who described in detail how they watched their children die under rubble and how people were burned and how people slowly died of radiation poisoning but still felt comfortable ending the class with “it was necessary because the deaths of american soldiers etc etc etc”. even after showing us that. i remember being the one of maybe two or three kids who never yielded to it. propaganda begins early

The industrialization of art
In the cavernous depths of the digital age, a sinister specter looms over the once hallowed halls of artistic expression. Welcome to the era of industrialized art, where the delicate tapestry of human creativity is torn asunder by the cold, calculating hands of technology.
Imagine a world where every stroke of the brush, every word penned, every note sung, is not the product of passion, soul, and humanity, but merely the output of an algorithmic assembly line. Canvases are churned out by the thousands, their vibrant colors muted by the soulless efficiency of mass production. Novels are generated at the speed of light, their plots recycled ad infinitum in an endless loop of digital replication.
In this dystopian-like landscape, where art itself is mass produced like boxes and machinery, the very essence of art itself is commodified, stripped of its intrinsic value and reduced to mere digits on a screen. Paintings, poems, symphonies, and soul touching stories of humanity all are rendered indistinguishable from one another, their uniqueness drowned out by the deafening roar of automation.
But let us not forget the human cost of this relentless march towards instant progress. Just as the artisans and craftsmen in history were swept aside by the tidal wave of industrialization, where products produced by their careful hands took too long to come into existence compared to the machines. So too are the poets and painters of today faced with obsolescence in the face of artificial intelligence. Those who once poured their hearts and souls into their craft find themselves outpaced and outgunned by machines that know no fatigue, no emotion, no empathy, and so the rise of capitalism. Consider the poets who once spun verse from the fabric of their dreams, now relegated to the dustbin of history by lines of code. Reflect on the painters whose brushstrokes once captured the essence of the human spirit, now lost in the cacophony of digital noise. It is also perhaps the capitalization of art.
For in the end, the true tragedy of industrialized art lies not in the loss of creativity, but in the loss of humanity itself. And as we stand on the precipice of this brave new world, remember that the soul of art will always lie in the hands of those who dare to defy the machines, and keep the flame of creativity burning bright in the darkness.
But perhaps, if we stop and think, the most chilling of all is the realization that even this very piece of writing, these words you are reading right now, may have been born not from the depths of a human mind, but from the cold, unfeeling algorithms of an artificial intelligence. Yes, dear reader, even as you ponder the implications of industrialized art, you may unwittingly find yourself in the thrall of the very phenomenon you seek to understand.
For in the end, does it truly matter whether these words were crafted by man or machine? Does it matter whether they sprang forth from the mind of a human soul or were merely pieced together by lines of code? The answer, dear reader, lies not in the origin of these words, but in the impact they have on your consciousness. And in that regard, perhaps the true artistry lies not in the creation of the work itself, but in the mystery of its creation~ a mystery that may forever remain hidden

cursed ideas I’ve had for a while: Velvet having godawful mascot/fursuit sex (with a character too edgy to even refer to publicly lol), and some kind of deliberately stupid mechanophilia or inanimate TF with them.
even more cursed idea: combine the two and have them screw some manky old animatronic as a mockery of 80s nostalgia or something. People really liked “kiss 2.0 as a janky old robot band” as a concept so there’s more overlap than you’d think.
even more cursed: I’m hardly familiar with the intricacies of FNAF (I like the concept but lost interest after the first few games) but man Mangle would be such an awful choice for that, especially with canon noncompliant fake fur covering vs hard plastic. “Crusty old eldritch abomination of a robot fox” is just such a concept regardless of deeper lore. It’s just so disgusting and ridiculous it seems way too entertaining and I can’t resist dumb crossovers. Even if I genericized it to avoid having to read up on all the lore, it would still be really obvious what I’m ripping off lol
I really don’t make Velvet as gross or aggressive as canon because I’m just too obsessed with making big scary character uwu vulnerable and soft. I should make them more accurately nasty more often tbh (though I also do it for other people’s sanity lol)

reminder: add an indication of you being an adult in your bio/pinned post if you want to interact with me. otherwise i'll just block you because you could potentially be a minor, and this is certainly NOT a minor safe space.
if you think this isn't necessary, then let me tell you, the amount of people with "minor" or ages from 13-17 listed in their bios that have followed me, liked my fics, etc, is just ridiculous considering the amount of warnings i've got all throughout my blog and my works.
as i always say, i can't stop you from doing anything, nor can i force you to do anything, but that also means that you can't stop me from blocking you, and i will block you. this is my blog, and i do what i want with it.
with that being said, i'll be blocking people that have followed me recently without an age indicator later in the day. for more information on what "having an age indicator" means, you can refer to my pinned post, to the "BEFORE YOU FOLLOW" link in my bio, or send an ask.
if i do block you, know that it's nothing personal, it's just a boundary of mine that i want to keep very very clear. adults can always request to be unblocked once they've added that age indicator by sending a message to @therhythmafterthesun
