There's something about the idea that gods change according to belief.
There's something about Aphrodite having to drop her sword and shield and pick up a makeup brush and mirror.
There's something about Zeus's Crown overtaking his hospitality.
There's something about Ares being scrubbed of his care with blood.
There's something about Hera's care being thrown in her face because of her cruelty.
There's something about Dionysus having his artistry and wildness ripped away from him due to his partying.
There's something about Hermes losing his chthonic connections in favour of his trickery.
There's something about Demeter surrendering her fierce, protective love and power over life and death to become a hysterical mother.
There's something about Athena's femininity and protectiveness fading to make her grip her spear and grasp her thoughts tighter.
There's something about Hephaestus forgetting his creations' finesse and intricacy to focus on pure function and efficiency.
There's something about Poseidon's earth-shaking rage that causes waves to rise above the tallest mountains being reduced to occasional vengefulness.
There's something about Apollo giving up his herds and truth and wisdom and plagues to speak the future and heal the wounded through song.
There's something about Artemis turning from children and childbirth to fixate on the wilderness.
There's something about the idea that gods change according to belief.

i dont think yall get how obsessed i am with jason and heras relationship like. jasons own mother and father didnt care for him but he won over the favor of his fathers WIFE who usually hates all of his bastard children ??? by just bein g a guy. she CRIED OVER HIS DEATH. the goddess of marriage cried over the death of her husband's child that was a result of him cheating on her AGAIN. and she was attached to him in ways gods usually arent, like even poseidon and percy. hephaestus and leo. the only people who come close are toa apollo and his kids. she genuinely loved jason like a son, and jason had never had that sort of parental love except from a goddess that usually hates kids like him

Jason went on a solo quest when he was younger. Camp Jupiter was so proud that their little son of Jupiter was getting his own quest
. He helped Jupiter’s sacred Eagles. He loved those eagles, they visited him on occasion. A huge basilisk was threatening their nesting grounds. Jason killed it all by himself.
The camp saw Jason’s quest as a great success. He was victorious and came back with the basilisk’s fang as a prize.
The camp didn’t see Lichtenberg scars running down his back that Jupiter gave him because one of the eagles was injured. The only reason Jason was able to physically move was because Juno healed his wounds.
But the scars would be permanent.
The seven assumed the scars were from Jason’s powers.
But Percy and Annabeth know.
Thalia never had scars from using her powers

Percy: Fight me!
Ares: Ha, look at your size! What are you gonna do, kick my ankle?
Later, on Olympus
Hera: Why is Ares crying?
Poseidon: Percy kicked him really hard on the ankle.

Hera should have been way pettier with Gaea. She should have been like ‘you think you’re the mother? No, I’M the mother now.’ She should have bothered her more, heckled her a little, had some fun with it, rubbed it in her face more.
All this to say that Hazel and Leo should have been the ones swapped in the camp exchange, because they were the ones Gaea feared most.

Jupiter naming Jason, against Beryl's wishes because she didn't want his name to be Jason.
And his reasoning being that naming him after Juno's favourite hero would appease her.
So she wouldn't try to kill him.
But that doesn't make sense because the original Jason died partly because he lost his favour with Hera.
He broke his vow to love Madea and died alone on the rotting ship of the Argo.
Dying when he took a nap and the mast fell onto him.
Naming your child after the hero who disappointed your wife so badly she let him die.
... Doesn't feel like your trying to save him.
If anything, I think Jupiter saw Jason as a means to an end.
Hating the idea that a mortal pulled him in, instead of the other way around.
And felt she had power over him, baring a a child that looks just like her.
One that would be fated to fall in the line of service.
He named him after Juno's disappointment, just a reminder to get rid of him if he falls out of line.
Once his task is over, there will be no use for him.
What Jupiter didn't expect was that Juno would end up caring for her little champion.
Not enough to save him of course.
But enough to cry at his funeral, oh well she'd get over it.
They always do.
Except the look Apollo gives him, makes him wonder.

I know that PJO Hera is an absolute bitch and even in mythology she isn't among the best, but. But.
Tell me that Hera, Goddess of Motherhood, wasn't completely enthralled when Leo Valdez, a few months old and so tiny and fragile, grabbed her finger for the first time and giggled like it was the best thing to happen in his life.
Tell me that Hera, Mother, doesn't replay the first time Leo Valdez, a year old and always covered in bumps and bruises because he climbs everything, said "Tía" years after it happened.
Tell me that Hera, Patron of Women, didn't have cuckoos following Esperanza, young and alone and discarded by her family, when she had to lock up late to make sure no harm came to her.
Tell me that Hera, Goddess of Motherhood, didn't feel worshiped to the highest degree when Esperanza, tired and dirty and bleeding, worked nights so that she could afford to spoil her son for his birthday.
Tell me that Hera, Tía Callida, didn't care when she put Leo, all of two years old and burning with a flame so bright the Earth Mother herself felt the need to intervene, in the fireplace as though to burn away his mortality.
