Danny knew something was horribly wrong the moment his sense's came back to him.
The air felt off. The smells and sounds that slowly came into focus was completely different. Everything felt so strange, but also so familiar.
Before he even tried opening his eyes and facing the people before him, he turned his focus inwards. Trying to piece together the hazy memories he had.
First was the evident moment everything started going downhill. A normal day suddenly shifting as the sky started to turn purple and green.
Harsh winds, and ghostly beings filled the air. Danny remembers sending Sam and Tucker to his house. Told them to find his parents and sister, get to the ops center.
He'd contact them when he can.
He doesn't think he did. It was a vague mess of fighting ghosts, teaming up with Vlad, and tracking why the living realm suddenly started looking like the zone.
While also getting the worse bruises and injuries he has had in ages.
Then he found the source. He's 97% sure he found himself up against Freakshow, but at this point it felt like he fought all of his rivals.
There was a strange pool, different from regular ectoplasm. Even with Freakshow's monologuing, he had no clue what it was.
Then he got shoved in.
Shoved in.
He didn't resurface. Some unknown energy pulling him deeper. He felt like he was drowning, being crushed, then oblivion.
Which left the question of who pulled him out, and where he was. This wasn't home. He didn't need to open his eyes to see that.
When he did finally open his eyes, he didn't expect what he saw.
Seriously, why are there so many people? And why do they have so much sharp and pointy things pointed at him???

365 DC Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…
Suplemental - Villains Who Are Sometimes Heroes
Often times, the best villains are those who do not necessarily seem themselves as such.  They are the heroes of their own stories and believe their villainous actions are in the service of some form of a greater good.  As such, there are numerous instances in which a villain will come to act in the role of hero or antihero, where the bad guy is actually the good guy, or a former nemesis becomes a sudden ally.  Following the jump are some of my favorite villains who frequently end up playing a heroic role…
Tumblr media
There can be no doubt that both Deathstroke and Bane are bad to the bone. Yet each have acting in the role of antihero more times than can easily counted.
Tumblr media
Poison Ivy is less villainess than ecological warrior.  Her actions may be evil in the minds of many, but for her she is merely defending the wellbeing of plant life and attempting to stave off mankind’s thoughtless efforts to make the planet inhospitable to both flora and fauna alike.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Flash’s Rogues, especially Captain Cold, HeatWave, The Pied Piper and The Trickster are most certainly cads… yet they all abide by their own particular code of honor and conduct.  As such, they have been many a time where these rogues have fought along side heroes as opposed to against them.
Tumblr media
The Shade has been one of the Justice Society’s most formidable of adversaries.  And yet it was later revealed that he isn’t that bad a guy and it was the malignant possession of the devious Culp who was responsible for most of his villainous deeds.
Tumblr media
Both The Star Sapphire and Goldface each began as villains but ended up heroes.
Tumblr media
Knockout and Scandal are wonderful and I’ll hear no bad words about them.
Tumblr media
Brainwave Junior‘s turn as a villain was initially attributed to his difficulties with mental illness, but it was later revealed to be the machinations of the evil Mr. Mind.  Once the little creep was expelled, Brainwave Jr. became good again. whew!
Tumblr media
The second Tattooed Man started off a villain but later became a hero, only to be killed in Heroes in Crisis (hopefully he’ll get better like most of the victims of Sanctuary).  As for Harlequin, she only acted as a villain to get the attention of her crush, Green Lantern (Alan Scott)… boy was she barking up the wrong tree.
Tumblr media
Bizarro is not necessarily bad, rather he’s naive and easily manipulated and the majority of his evil acts have been the result of coercion by way of more purely evil villains.  And under the right direction, Bizarro can very much be a force for good, such as the time he served as a hero among The Red Hood’s band of Outlaws.
Tumblr media
Anarky is a political extremist and Thorne suffers from some sort of psychological malady.  Sometimes their on the right side of a conflict, sometimes on the wrong.  Are they bad guys… whose to say?
Tumblr media
This guy… where do I even start?  Lex Luther certainly does not see himself as a villain; he’s out to save the world.  And there have been many a time where he has achieved exactly that.  He could have been hero on par with the greatest in the DC Universe… if only he hadn’t stolen all of those pies!
Tumblr media
Plastique began as a terrorist and villain yet spent a brief time as a hero, a result of her romance with Captain Atom.  Alas the affair between the two proved to be short live, and so time did Plastique’s time as a hero.  As he Deadshot, he’s a stone-cold killer, yet his time with The Suicide Squad and Secret Six has hoisted him into the role of antihero… a role that proved a surprisingly good fit for the deadly marksman.
Tumblr media
Cheshire is a deadly assassin who has proven formidable nemesis of The Teen Titans.  When he daughter’s wellbeing is on the line, however, the killer is quick to aide her one time rivals.
Tumblr media
Painkiller started off as a villain yet has recently turned to the role of antihero; mostly a result of the character’s involvement in the Black Lightning television series.  As for Manchester Black, I’m never going to be convince to trust this creepy peet… yet Superman has decided to do just that, recruiting the cad into his new team The Elite.
Tumblr media
Both Fataly and Bleez have very good reasons to be as angry and vengeful as they are.  And though both have battled the Green Lanterns on multiple occasions, they have also assisted the corps in joining forces against common enemies.
Tumblr media
Thomas Blake made for a rather lousy super villain during his early years as Catman.  After a much-needed Gail Simone make-over, however, he became a truly terrific antihero.  Plus, anyone who likes cats as much as he does can’t be all that bad, right?
Tumblr media
Although technically villains, I wouldn’t classify Jenette nor Black Alice as necessarily bad…  They both just have a different way of looking at the matter of morality.
Tumblr media
Don’t mess with Lady Shiva… let’s just leave it at that.
Tumblr media
Polymath’s tenure as a villain was merely a result of her desperation to save her father.  Once the Wonder Twins helped her do just that, she resigned from her villainous ways.  Shado‘s deal is a bit more complicated.  The devious archer has proven a formidable adversary to Green Arrow, but there has also been many a time where the two have fought side by side.
Tumblr media
So Dex-Starr is a rage-filled murder machine possessing awesome power.  Yet that is pretty much the case for all house cats, so I don’t see what the big deal is…
Tumblr media
Both Killer Frost and Magenta fell into the antiquated trope of powerful women becoming evil due to some sort of hysteria.  Sure they’ve been bad guys plenty of times, but they have each also acted as heroes as well.
Tumblr media
Just like his father, Icicle Junior has taken the road of villainy, becoming a member of The injustice Society of America.  When The ultra Humanite took over the world, however, Icicle joined forces with The Justice Society and played a pivotal role in saving the day.  As for Junior’s baby-mama, Tigress, she remains a villainess… in the DC Animated Universe of Young Justice, however, Artemis is very much a hero.  Feels like only a matter of time before the comic book universe follows suit, turing The tigress from villain to hero.
Tumblr media
Both Clayface and Man-Bat are less villains than they are victims of circumstance.  And while each have battled Batman more times than can be counted, there has also been times where the pair have aided The Dark Knight.
Tumblr media
Once heralded as the greatest of The Green Lanterns, Sinestro’s path to villainy came as a facet of his quest to bring order to the galaxy.  His tyrannical notions aside, there has still been plenty a time where he has once more joined forces with his former allies among the corps.
Tumblr media
Both The Rubber Band Man and Major Disaster began as villains, but switched over to being heroes.  Major Disaster even served for a brief while as a member of The Justice League International.
Tumblr media
Lobo is a genocidal trashbox who has most likely had inappropriate relations with space dolphins.  Yet people seem to like reading about this jerk which has foisted him into the role of antihero.  I still think he’s garbage, but will admit that his daughter is super cool.
Tumblr media
These three don’t even require particular mention.  Catwoman, Black Adam and Harley Quinn’s roles as hero/antihero have been enough that they receive placement on both the 365 Villains list as well a the 365 Heroes list.  Quite the accomplishment!
Tumblr media
A rarity on this list… Terra started out a hero but it was later revealed that she was a double agent, a villain sent by Deathstroke to infiltrate and betray the Teen Titans.  She perished but later returned again, either cloned or resurrected or something like that.  In any case, she’s a hero again so yay…
So there you have it, a collection of scum and villainy who have, on occasion, acted in the role of hero.  Have I missed anyone important?  Let me know.

Building Aqualad in D&D 5e
I told myself I will do at least one more of these for the Pride Month. This time it is technically for two characters who are two sides of the same coin. Despite opposite backstories they both share simlair abilitties. Kaldur’Ahm, raised in Atlantis leader of Young Justice and future Aquaman and leader of Justice League is in many ways what Jackson Hyde, his less-experienced, surface-raised gay counterpart from comics may become if he is allwoed to grow. So we will try to make a build that reflects on both of them and basically let YOU roleplay this growth.
Tumblr media
As always (since I lifted template for these posts from Tulok The Barbarian we will kick it off with stating our Goals. First of all, we need to have power to use water as a weapon. Second, we need to have a variety of ways in which we can face our enemies. Finally, we need to be able to move as well on both surface and underwater
For Ability Scores we’ll be using Standard Points Array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10 and 8). If you want to roll or use point buy, use this as a guideline and keep in mind our Multiclassig Requirements will ask for at least 13 in Wisdom and Dexterity. Kaldur’ahm seems good in pretty much everything but Jackson does not...anyway, we will prioritize stats we need the most.
Strength: 8. Kaldur wore some heavy armors but we don’t really need this one.
Dexterity: 14, two-weapon fighting is traditionally associated with high Dexterity.
Constitution: 13, both have taken hits from some heavy hitters
Intelligence: 12, Kaldur is strategist of the team
Wisdom: 15, Kaldur is pretty stoic and Jackson has patience of a saint to put up with some of reckless people he is working with.
Charisma: 10, you either have Robin challenge your authority or you follow a smaller, angrier Robin.
For D&D way to say species, Race, whichever version of the character you want to be, your mother was from underwater kingdom of Xibil and your dad is Black Manta, a living proof of human assholery. There is no half-human half-Xibilian race, so we will go with Triton. You get +1 to Strength, Constitution and Charisma, can breathe on both surface and udnerwater, have land and swim speed of 30 feet, resistance to cold damage, ignore drawbacks caused by deep underwater enviroment, can communicate simple ideas to sea creatures, know Common and Primodial and can cast Fog Cloud once per day, heavily obscuring area in a 20 foot radius. Apparently Tritons come with a built-in smoke grenade. Atlantean training is hardcore.
We will build a custom Background, pick up Insight and Investigation as your skills, a proficiency in any campaign-relevant language and any thieves’ tools and Safe Haven feature from Faction Agent background, meaning you have a way to communicate with hidden allies providing you with a place to stay get information, but they won’t risk their lives or revealing their secret identities for you.
Tumblr media
Now for Class Levels:
Level 1: We Will kick things off as a Ranger. First level Ranger gets proficiency in simple and martial weapons, light and medium armors, shields, Strength and Dexterity saving throws and three skills, pick Perception, Stealth and Survival for whenever your team gets separated again.
Your two features we will swap for those from Unearthed Arcana. Favored Foe lets you mark a target with a Hunter’s Mark number of times equal your Wisdom Modifier per long rest, letting you deal extra 1d6 of damage whenever you hit the target with a weapon attack and gain advantage on Perception and Survival checks to track it down and you can as a bonus action move it on to another target once icurrent one drops to zero hit points.
Deft Explorer lets you pick one of 3 features. Rowing adds 5 to your walking speed and ensures your climbing and swimming speed is equal to it. This is a little better than Triton giving us flat 30 feet of swimming speed.
Level 2: 2nd Level Rangers gets to pick a Fighting Style. Druidic Warrior is from the same Unearthed Arcana and lets you pick up two Cantrips from Druid’s spell-list. Which is nice since we get Spellcasting on this level as well.
Rangers know a specific number of spells, which we will use to roleplay some of kaldur and Jack’s powers and/or gadgets. Cantrips you can cast as many times as you want and they scale with your level, while spells you need to extend spell slots to cast (they regenerate on a long rest). You can know spells of level you have spell slots for avialable and every time you level up as a Ranger in addition to learnign a new spell you can unlearn one in place of another. if Spell asks you to make an spell attack you add your Proficiency and Wisdom modifiers to it. If it asks target to make a saving throw it must beats a DC equals sum of those two numbers +8.
Shape Water gives you limited, harmless control over water, mostly small stuff but may be fun to better roleplay.
Thorn Whip lets you make a spell attack against a target within 30 feet of you, dealing 1d6 damage on a hit. If it’s Large or smaller you also pull it 10 feet closer to you. This will be our Water Whip. Some of you may wonder why I’m getting is this way when a 3rd level Way Of the Four Elements Monk can use Water Whip which is actual water and deals more damage. The thing is, Monks cast this from their Ki Points, which is horribly limited. With this you can cast Kaldur’s iconic water whips as many times as you want.
Longstrider lets you for an hour increase your speed by 10 feet, which will also increase your swimming speed as well due to your Rowing abilitty..
Cure Wounds lets you cure 1d8+Your Wisdom modifier of damage dealt to you or someone else. Be it medipack or reassuring word, you know a thing abotu staying in combat.
Level 3: Tritons for some reason get Gust of Wind at this level, letting you choose a line and blow wind forcing all creatures in it to succeed a Strength saving throw (agaisnt your Charisma not Wisdom) or be pushed 15 feet away. I guess it’s some gadget picked from your teammates? Or maybe you can refluff it as a stream of water?
Anyway, some of you were probably wondering why I picked Druidic Warrior for Aqualad’s fighting style over Two-Weapon Fighting, since it is such an iconic thing done by Kaldur and Jake. Don’t worry, we will amend this one. 1st Level Fighter gets to pick another Fighting Style - Two-Weapon Fighting lets you add your dexterity modifier to an attack you make with your off-hand weapon.
You also get Second Wind, letting you regenerate 1d10+Your Fighter Level of Damage as a bonus action once per short or long rest. This keeps you up in combat longer, and whichever version of character you use, they are known for their heroic determination.
Tumblr media
Level 4: 3rd Level Ranger gets to Pick a Ranger Conclave. I was thinking which one would fit best and arrived at a conclusion that it’s Monster Slayer from Xanathar’s Guide To Everything. Apparently it included Xibil, who wuld have thought.
Slayer’s Sense lets you a number of time equal your Wisdom modifier per long rest observe one creature in line of sight within 60 feet from you as an action. Unless it is shielded from divination magic, you learn what kinds of damage resistances, immunities or vurnerabilities it possesses, if any. Meanwhile Slayer’s Prey lets you as a bonus action designate one creature within 60 feet that you can see and deal it extra 1d6 of damage on your first weapon attack that hits on each turn. These two fit the idea of Kaldur as someone more level-headed, waiting for a good moment to strike.
Unearthed Arcana will let you pick Primal Awareness - it grants you a number of spells you can cast without expending a spell slot but the price is you can do it only once per long rest. As in, only one of all those spell per long rest. I guess it is some sort of Atlantean Sorcery focused on being one with the ocean. I will be marking these spells as (PA) when listing them with other spells you get (which now will also include Monster Slayer’s bonus spells, neither of which counts against your normal number of spells known).
Speaking of which, spells of this level:
Detect Magic (PA) lets you sense magic in the area of 30 feet, as long as it is not  separated from you by (deep breath) 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood or dirt. If you sense something you can use your action to also learn what school of magic it is and see its aura around any obcject in the room.
Speak With Animals (PA) lets you talk to fish and other animals too, no wonder you replaced Orin as Aquaman. They won’t tell you much but at minimum will inform you of monsters in the area and what they have seen within past day. If you persuade them (read: the DM) the ycan do you a small favor too.
Protection From Evil And Good lets you grant yourself or another protection against aberrations, celestials, elementals, fey, fiends and undead, imposing disadvantage on their attacks against the target, making the target imune to being charmed, frightened or posessed by these creatures and if that already happenned, they get an advantage on future saving throw to shake this effect off. Raven’s dad? A fiend. Ghost of Nabu? An undead. Whatever crawled from the sea to eat Arthur? Probably an Aberration. New Gods? Celestials. And I think Klarion counts as a fey.
Detect Poison and Disease lets you identify all kinds of poisons and diseases present within 30 feet from you, unless you are hidden by the same barriers as listed under detect magic. I guess you need to see them to be able to tell if this fish is poisonous or not.
Tumblr media
Level 5: On this level Triton allows you to cast Wall of Water once a day. You can shape water into a straigth wall 30 feet long and 10 feet high or round one 20 feet long and 20 feet high, either of them 1 foot thick. It counts as difficult terrain, attacks passing through it have disadvantage and all fire damage of attacks or spells is halved, but if anything that deals ice damage is flung through it, it freezes 5 feet of the wall, turning it into a block of ice with 5 AC and 15 HP that is not filled when broken with an attack.
4th Level Rangers get an Ability Score Improvement, bumb your Dexterity for better attack rolls and armor class.
Level 6: 5th level Ranger gets an Extra Attack, letting you attack twice for each attack action.
And now for the spells, since you just got access to 2nd level ones:
Beast Sense (PA) let’s you strap a camera to an animal and see through its eyes and hear through its ears, but you cannto do anythign else while you watch it.
Locate Animal or Plants (PA) let’s you name a kind of animal or a plant and you know where, as in derection and distance from you, to find closest one within 5 miles.
Darkvision let’s you for 8 hours with no concentration see for 60 feet in the dim light as in bright and in darkness as in dim light, but iwthout discerning colors. This is something that you, as a Triton player, has spent last 5 levels yelling at DM you should have and WotC did a mistake to not let you have it.
Zone of Truth allows you to make it impossible to lie in a 15-foot radius. Creatures who are in the area or enter it must make a Charisma saving throw or are unable to tell a lie on purpose and you know they have attempted the save and passed or not. I’m not saying this would have solved so many issues in Young Justice but it sure owuld make things easier. Or not, I’m sure Vandal Savage’s Charisma save is like +15.
Level 7: We hop back to Fighter to get Action Surge, letting you once per short rest. Meaning you can in one turn make your full attack and cast a spell, make four or five attacks if you also use your off-hand weapon, or cast two spells. In fact, this is the only way to cast two spells (as opposed to a spell and a cantrip) in a single turn.
Tumblr media
Level 8: 3rd Level Fighter gets to choose a Martial Archetype. Eldritch Knight  lets you for a bond with both your weapons, meaning you cannot be unwillingly disarmed unless you are incapitated and if you drop the weapon, you can use your bonus action to summon it to your hand as long as you’re on the same plane of existence.
You also learn two Cantrips and 3 1st Level Spells from Wizard Spell List. They work the same as your Ranger spelsl except using Intelligence instead of Wisdom.
Booming Blade lets you make a single attack. If you hit you deal extra 1d8 thunder damage and if and the target willingly moves before start of your next turn it is dealt 2d8 thunder damage.
Shocking Grasp let’s you make a single meele spell attack, with advantage if target is wearing metal armor, to deal 2d8 lightning damage. Both this and Booming Blade increase with levels and let you imitate some of minor electric powers shown by both Jackson and Kaldur
Shield lets you add +5 to AC would you be hit by an attack, potentially making it miss you. I guess in your case it owuld be a water shield.
Absorb Elements grants you as a reaction resistance to acid, cold, fire, lighting or thunder damage - you cast it as a reaction when you take one of those types of damage and it lasts until start of your next turn. And during your next turn first time you hit a foe you deal extra 1d6 damage of that type. Kaldur withstood hits from Black Lightning and his dad runs around with a heat-beam blasting cooking pot on his head, this will be useful.
Chromatic Orb lets you make a spell attack against a target and deal it 3d8 of your choice  acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, or thunder damage. Most of the time you will likely stick to cold and lightning or thunder which are most fitting the character but you can refluff other options as special weapons for one-time use.
Tumblr media
Level 9: Back to the Ranger, on 6th Level you get another form of Deft Explorer. Canny allows you to pick one more skill from  Animal Handling, Athletics, History, Insight, Investigation, Medicine, Nature, Perception, Stealth, or Survival to get proficient in OR get your proficiency bonus to it doubled. Personally I would go with History - you know a lot about the world and have good memory and a number of times my party got themselves in trouble by failing a simple History check would be funny if it wasn’t so sad.
Also, you get Favored Enemy, since apparently Favored Foe only replaces the first one. Choose one type of creatures:  aberrations, beasts, celestials, constructs, dragons, elementals, fey, fiends, giants, monstrosities, oozes, plants, or undead, or two races of humanoids. You get advantage on Survival rolls to track them and Intelligence checks to recall information about. Yes, that’s it. You see why I forgot this feature on America Chavez build on this level? To be fair you also learn one language spoken by whatever you picked, which mixes well with Kaldur being fluent in multiple languages. Though Ancient Greeks are not valid choice on any setting except theros and it would be extremly fucked up anyway.
Level 10: 7th Level Monster Slayer gains Supernatural Defense, letting you add 1d6 to escape being grappled by or to saving throws forced on you by targer of your Slayer’s Prey.
Our Spell for this level is Protection From Poison. The target that is poisoned has effects of one poison neutralized and for an hour makes all saving throws against poison with an advantage. Which is somewhat better than Kaldur’s resistance to poison of some udnerwater flora and fauna.
Level 11: 8th Level Rangers gain an Abilitty Score Improvement, keep investing in your Dexterity. You also no longer slow your movement for moving through difficult terrain and nonmagical plants and you get an advantage on saving throw against magical plants to impede your movement. I would say this applies to moving underwater but consult your DM.
Tumblr media
Level 12: 9th Level Ranger gains access to 3rd Level Spells.
Speak With Plants (PA) make you make all plants in 30 feet from you GAIN SENTIENCE so you can question them or make difficult terrain normal one for the duration. I know some Aquaman comics argued there is a sea-faring force similiar to the Green that Arthur (and apparently in our take also Kaldur) can tap into but man, this is ridiculous.
Magic Circle is a force field of 10 feet radius and 20 feet height. At your choice it can be used so that creatures cannot enter or leave area inside it and pass a Charisma Saving Throw is they try to bypass that by teleportation, have disadvantages on attacks against creatures on the other side and cannot frighter, charm or possess them. This is likely another gadget or you somehow enchanced water to do it.
Protection From Energy is list a better version of Absorb Elements - continuous resistance to acid, cold, fire, lightning or thunder damage up to an hour on Concentration. Again, your dad wears a cooking pot that shoots heat beams.
ALTERNATIVES: Magic Weapon can be a good choice too since your blades/whips are weird and if DM doesn’t throw a pair of magic weapons your way, this will help you roleplay them better.
Level 13: 10th Level Unearthed Arcana Ranger gains the stealthsuit - once every short or long rest you can become invisible until start of your next round
Level 14: 11th Level Monster Slayer becomes a Magic User’s Nemesis, letting you attempt to foil an enemy within 60 feet of you from casting a spell or teleport by forcing a Wisdom saving throw on them. if they fail, their spell or teleport is fasted. I don’t even want to count how many times it would get Vandal Savage and rest of the Light in a tight spot.
Our Spell for this Level will be Water Walk, letting you for one hour give up to 10 creatures within 30 feet an abilitty to walk on water as if it was solid ground. It os not exactly water pillars Kaldur uses to save people from burning buildings but maybe if you combine it with Wall of Water...
Tumblr media
level 15: 12th Level Ranger means another Ability Score Improvement, you should have Dexterity around 18 so now focus on Wisdom since more and more of your spells and abilitties require saving throws.
Level 16: 13th Level Ranger gains more spells and acess to 4th level spells
Locate Creature (PA) lets you locate a specific creature you know or a nearest creature of a type you have seen up close that is within 1 thousand miles, except if its in a different form or at least 10 feet of running water crosses the area between you and it. If the creature is moving you know its direction. Basically, if your team wants to track someone specific, like Ras Al’Ghul or Deathstroke or your dad, you can do it.
Banishment let’s you push a target into a portal to somewhere else if the fail Charisma saving throw - if the target is native to this plane of existence, it will be back once the spell ends. but if it’s not from around here and you hold the concentration for 1 minute, they are permamently sent back home. So theorethically you could roleplay this as kicking Darkseid into his own Boom Tube, just saying.
Freedom of Movement is basically a better version of your 10th level Ranger feature - you ignore difficult therrain and spells that would reduce your movement or make you paralyzed or restrained, being  underwater does not impede your movement or attacks, you can spend 5 feet from your movement to automatically escape all nonmagical ways of impeding your movement or restraining you. Beast Boy will likely joke about you being slippery like an eel once you use it to escape being grappled by Grodd or Monsieur Mallah or ultra Humanite... Young Justice has fought a lot of gorillas, come to think of it.
Level 17: 14th Level Ranger gets Vanish, letting you Hide as a bonus action like a Rogue of a...2nd fucking level wtf Wizards... and make it impossible to track you by nonmagical means.  Also, you get one more option to pick for Favored Enemy.
Tumblr media
Level 18: 15th Level Monster Slayer gets Slayer’s Counter - if the target of your Slayer’s Prey forces you to make a saving throw you can make one attack against them. If you hit you deal normal damage and automatically succeed the saving throw. If you miss, you still roll as usual. Your old man’s cooking pot beam? Like a Dexterity save. Dark Robin’s toxin? Probably Wisdom. M’Gann trying to clean up your mind? Intelligence. I liek this abilitty because you have an image of someone like Psimon trying to mess with your mind and getting punched in the face.
Our Spell for this level will be Death Ward, letting you protect someone from dying. For 8 hours after you cast it, the spell goess of if one of two things happen - the target is reduced to 0 hit points, in which case it’s reduced to 1 instead, or is outright killed, in which case the effect that did it is negated. It has only one charge but it will likely protect someone from becoming another statue or hologram in your team’s hall of fallen heroes.
Level 19: 16th Level Ranger gets final Abilitty Score Improvement., go for Wisdom since more and mroe things you do require saving throws.
Level 20: We will finish with a 17th Level Ranger for a set of 5th level spells.
Commune With Nature (PA) let’s you gather informations about the area within 3 miles or 300 feet underground, letting you know three facts about terrain and bodies of water, prevalent plants, minerals, animals, or peoples, powerful celestials, fey, fiends, elementals, or undead, influence from other planes of existence or buildings in the area. Doesn’t work in towns or dungeons.
Hold Monster - you force a Wisdom saving throw on any creature and if they fail, they become Paralyzed until spell ends, you break concentration or they succeed another saving throw atr the end of  each of their turns. I would play it as you wrapping your water whip around the target.
Greater Restoration let’s you remove one effect that charmed, petrified, cursed, reduced abilitty scores or hit points maximum of the target.
Tumblr media
Overview: My take on Aqualad is a Triton Monster Slayer Ranger 17/Eldritch Knight Fighter 3. Let’s now see how well does it work.
Pros: You are pretty well-rounded in both defensive and offensive ways, letting you be able to deal damage and to mess with your enemies. Second, you have multiple ways to protect yourself or your allies. Third, there is no terrain that will stop you, if your DM loves using tricks related to that you two will have a blast trying to outmaneuver one another. Finally, you are pretty good at information gathering, meaning you can be team tactician, setting up plans for combat.
Cons: Your Constitution is mediocre, meaning your concentration will run out fast and your Hit Points aren’t that imnpressive - on average you should be slightly below 150 which is not bad but could be better. We didn’t cap either Dexterity or Wisdom - while +4 is not that much worse than +5, sometimes it will make a difference. Finally, a lot of your abilitties are situational and/or once per day, meaning there will be a lot of times when you won’t be able to utilize your strategic powers well.
Overall however, all these weak points fit your character - whenever you build Kaldur or Jacke, you are a team player. You don’t operate alone, you lay down a plan and you protect and support your teammates. A good party that works together and doesn’t underestiamte you will be grateful to have you on board
Tumblr media
Alternatives:
Pick a  Shillelagh as a Druidic Warrior Cantrip, replace your swords with a staff and for other fighting style pick Great Weapon Fighting, then maximalize Wisdom and Constitution. Fits well with you beinga tactical person as now you punch with your Wisdom. But it does stay away from Aqualad’s iconic blades.
Instead of Canny pick Tireless as your second Deft Explorer, giving you more ways to regenerate damage - you will be mroe a determinator than a wise guy, pushing you a bit closer to Jack than Kaldur.
In you want to sacrifice electric powers, grab Battlemaster archetype for Fight or even consider replacing it with Cleric - Protection, Solidarity or Unity Domains will work pretty well for you as a great team player.

The Tale of Kamsa
A retelling of the popular story in Hindu mythology
trigger warning: mild description of snake death, possible toxic parent-child relationships
PART 1
“I do not know if Kamsa should be the heir to the throne anymore. His ambition grows greater day by day, and I don’t know if I can trust him to take care of the kingdom. What if he becomes a tyrant? I have to do what is best for my kingdom. Perhaps a different son…” His father Ugrasena’s words were like thorns in Kamsa’s side as he listened to him, hidden. He had been about to walk to the lavish dining area of the royal palace, when he heard Ugrasena’s words to Kamsa’s mother. “Yes, Kamsa is powerful,” Ugrasena continued. “He has potential. He defeated Jarasandha’s army singlehandedly. But his ambition is...frightening. And his birth, and the truth…”
“And the curse,” he heard his mother add.
“And that. Regardless, I have accepted him. And I have accepted you, my wife. He does not have to know that truth.”
What truth? What curse? Kamsa wondered. What were they hiding? Kamsa wanted to hear more, but Ugrasena had fallen silent. He walked casually into the dining area, as if he had not been eavesdropping moments before. Ugrasena sat up straight after spotting him and offered him a polite smile. As usual, Kamsa’s mother did not look at him. “My son,” Ugrasena said, his eyes crinkling, as if he hadn’t been talking about Kamsa behind his back a few moments earlier. He gave his father a tight smile in return. “Father.” Two could play this game, Kamsa thought. They conversed politely like two kings of separate kingdoms, exchanging accounts of their day. If Kamsa hadn’t been so focused on pretending nothing had happened, he would have noticed his mother flinch at the words “my son” and “father,” and he would have started to suspect that the doubts didn’t just have to do with his ambition, but perhaps also a terrible secret beyond his control.
Narada, considered the messenger of the gods, had come to visit him as he lay awake that night. A bright light, and he had appeared, his sly smile and knowing eyes drawing Kamsa in. He leaned towards Narada. “What brings you here?”
“Certainly you have started to suspect,” Narada replied coolly, his mouth tugging at the corners.
“Suspect what?”
“The truth, of course.”
Kamsa did not understand. What truth? His mind strayed back to the dinner earlier, where he had eavesdropped. He does not have to know that truth, his father had said. What had Ugrasena meant by that?
“My father?” Kamsa guessed. “He said something about me not having to know the truth. Is that what this is about?”
Narada did not answer. He came closer to Kamsa, and sat before him.
“Perhaps, you notice your mother never cares for you, Prince. She never speaks to you during dinner, never praises you like a mother should. She never even fed you when you were a young prince, like she would sometimes do for her other sons.“
Kamsa felt the sting, though he tried to hide it. “My mother does not particularly like me. Thank you for informing of this fact. Is this all?” Kamsa tried to keep his face neutral. But he had never understood why his mother didn’t care for him like she did her other sons.
Narada laughed. “Mothers should care for their sons,” he said, almost as if he had read Kamsa’s mind. “You are her son, no doubt? Yes, yes, you certainly are, Kamsa. But your father…now there lies a doubt that hasn’t been planted in your mind. All your life you could believe a lie, and never even know it. The advantage of not knowing everything. The advantage of not being a god. A blessing, and a curse…” Narada had seemingly started rambling. Kamsa sat up straight and looked the god in the eyes with as much dignity as he could muster.
“Narada, what exactly are you trying to say? Do not ramble to me with truths concealed cleverly in your words. I do not have the energy to try and decipher them.”
“Have it your way, Prince Kamsa of Mathura.” Narada’s eyes twinkled. “You are the son of a Ghandarva. Ugrasena is not your father. That is all I will say.” And then Narada was gone.
A Ghandarva, a shape shifting demon, had somehow...with his mother...And Kamsa had been the result.
Kamsa did not sleep that night.
The next morning, Kamsa pulled off his lavish bed covers. He wished he had slept, so that he would have had those few moments of peace when he woke, where he wouldn’t have remembered his encounter with Narada the night before. There was a bliss in not knowing, yet he was horrified that he hadn’t known all that time.
Kamsa knew many things. He knew he did not care much for his kingdom. It was rather the idea of being king that he was so attracted to, the power he’d have over the people. He knew it was a tyrannical thought to have, but it occurred to Kamsa that he was a rather tyrannical person. Being a tyrant...why was it decided that it was inherently bad? Wasn’t it good, at least, for the tyrant? Kamsa thought, amused. He roamed the garden behind his royal home, his eyes raking the plants lazily. A snake slithered in the lush grass, but Kamsa didn’t notice. Someone who was watching him from afar, they might have thought he was bored. However, his mind was racing. He was thinking about many things. Things he knew. Things he wished he didn’t know.
You are the son of a Ghandarva, Narada had said.
Ugrasena is not your real father.
I don’t care, Kamsa told himself. Despite whether Ugrasena was his real father or not, he still...Kamsa stopped himself and almost pushed the thought away. Almost. After Narada’s visit, something in his head was urging him to think it. To feel it, to bask in it. The truth that he’d kept trying to convince himself was a lie. Kamsa closed his eyes, and gave himself permission.
He still despised Ugrasena.
To Kamsa, everything about Ugrasena was despicable. Everything he did was an example of things Kamsa would make sure he’d never do. Ugrasena’s lack of real ambition. His lack of going through with his desires when he pleased. It didn’t make sense. It wasn’t a way a king should live, Kamsa thought to himself. Every time he saw Ugrasena’s supporters, he wanted to...Kamsa didn’t finish the thought, but his fingers strayed to the hilt of his sword.
Ugrasena’s doubts were certainly not unwarranted. Kamsa had an ambitious streak that many thought would lead to evil. But Kamsa knew that it would only carry him to further heights, heights that those who criticized him for his ambition could only dream of. Ugrasena could never understand. Yet…after Narada’s visit, he couldn’t help but think that perhaps Ugrasena’s doubts were because of more than just his ambition. Perhaps it was-
“Prince Kamsa.” Kamsa continued staring at the plants in the garden, lost in his thoughts. He did not hear that someone had called his name.
Perhaps it was-
“Prince Kamsa,” the voice said again, more insistent this time. Kamsa turned behind him, suddenly snapping back to the real world. A flurry of a thousand arms, and he knew it was Banasura. He took a step back instinctively. He’d always felt slightly intimidated by Banasura’s presence, and it took effort not to show it. However, Kamsa trusted him and his advice. He didn’t have to plaster on a smile, anyway.
“What brings you here?” Kamsa asked. Banasura didn’t respond right away. Kamsa’s eyes narrowed. It was as if Banasura was preparing to say a speech that he’d practiced. Kamsa found himself leaning towards him, curious to hear whatever Banasura wanted to spit out. “Speak.” Kamsa finally said forcefully, starting to feel suspicious that Banasura had bad news.
“Yes, yes. I...just wanted to tell you how proud I was when you singlehandedly defeated Jarasandha’s army. I am thoroughly impressed by you, my friend. And I am sure Jarasandha is as well. Even a fool could see your potential.”
This had not been what he was expecting, but Kamsa’s shoulders relaxed. It had not been bad news after all. But this sudden flattery from Banasura was making Kamsa slightly wary.
“Thank you, dear friend. You flatter me. But...potential for what, exactly?”
“To be king. King of Mathura.”
Kamsa studied his expression, which was starting to morph into a cunning smile. Was this some sort of trick? Was Banasura planning something? Perhaps he was even in league with Ugrasena, who had doubts about his potential kingship...no. Banasura was one of his closest friends. He would never turn against him. Kamsa frowned at the snake that he had just then noticed, hissing in the grass. His hand wrapped around his sword hilt.
“Why are you saying this, Banasura? This feels rather...out of the blue. I cannot help but feel suspicious.” Kamsa asked as he unsheathed the sword, eyeing the snake, which was slithering closer to him.
“I am not trying to trick you, dear friend. I am only telling you the truth. You are much more than just a prince, Kamsa. I know it. You’re born to be king. You cannot tell me that you don’t lay awake at night and mourn at the fact that your skills are wasted as a mere prince of Mathura. Take your rightful place, Kamsa.”
Kamsa blinked, looking up at Banasura. These were words he’d never heard. Now that he’d heard them, he wanted to hear them again and again.
“But I am the heir,” Kamsa answered. But are you still? A voice in his head taunted. Perhaps when he went inside, he would be faced with his father telling him he was no longer the heir. Perhaps his dreams of being king were being crushed by Ugrasena as he spoke with Banasura in the garden.
“Kamsa.” His voice lowered to a hush. “We both know that Ugrasena grows wary of you. He may…think of revoking your right to ascend the throne. As your ambition grows, his doubts grow as well. We cannot rely on you being the heir to ascend the throne.”
“I have this same feeling as well,” Kamsa confided hesitantly, as he moved closer to the snake. “I even overheard Ugrasena speaking about his doubts. But…” Kamsa did not finish his sentence, and raised his sword over the snake. He knew Banasura was awaiting a certain response.
“What do you propose we do?”Kamsa asked finally. Banasura’s cunning smile grew bigger. It was an expression that made even Kamsa shudder, though in delight or fear, he could not tell.
“Overthrow Ugrasena.” Banasura’s voice was barely a whisper, but Kamsa felt the weight of the words like it was a war cry. Before Kamsa could, Banasura unsheathed his own sword and stabbed the snake in a sudden, fast move. His smile grew wider, staring at the snake that convulsed and then lay still. Kamsa felt a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth as he stared at the snake. He sheathed his own sword. Overthrowing Ugrasena? A worthy punishment for an unworthy king. As Banasura walked away, Kamsa watched him, but all he saw was the image of Banasura stabbing the snake, replayed in his mind again and again.
You are much more than a prince.
You are born to be the king.
Overthrow Ugrasena.
Take your rightful place, Kamsa.
The words of Banasura echoed in Kamsa’s mind as he lay awake once again that night. The seed was planted by one of his closest friends, and watered by Kamsa’s ambition. It grew slowly at first, just a small sprout among a garden. No sturdy stem, no leaves, no flowers or fruits. It could easily have been plucked out. But as he lay awake at night, staring at the ceiling, he could not help it. He let it grow.

→ History
Eric’s village and stepfather told him multiple times that he was the product of rape but his mother always ensured him that she loved his real father and that everything between them was consensual. His mother, Shella, was young and unmarried when their village found out she was carrying him. Soiled. That’s what they called her. His mother was sold off during her first trimester to the first person that their village could hand her off to for two pigs and a rooster. Sam was an old geezer that prayed on younger women and took the opportunity to take Eric’s mother in. She was forced to not only care for herself and Eric but also Sam and his kids. When Eric was born, Shella automatically suspected something was wrong with her boy. It wasn’t until Eric was 6 and having a crying fit that she realized her suspicions were correct. Eric transmuted a whole area of wooden toys into red apples; his favorite snack. In fear for his life she faked his death and gave him to a English couple passing through town.
As he grew, Eric forgot about his past life in Ireland, ran away from the old couple watching over him and lived his life on the streets of England and Scotland. That’s where he started to notice he wasn’t like the other boys on the block. He was stronger, faster, and luckier, always finding exactly what he needed right around the corner. Eric found himself taken in by the local butcher as an apprentice at the age of 15 and began his first career there. He met a nice girl and got married. They’d lived happily, and Eric was ecstatic at the news of his wife’s pregnancy, which made it all the more distressing when their baby was a still born. The next year his wife fell pregnant again, and he lost both her and his other daughter in the premature birth. Anger and heartbreak filled Eric and a darkness began bubbling inside of him.
The jadedness grew over the years, and he began to notice small things about himself. He’d barely aged and looked years younger than his childhood friends, being near the local church seemed to take all the energy and power from him, and everyone he loved died. Eric was sure he’d been possessed by evil, and found a Devil’s mark along his back. After months of contemplating what to do next, Eric had decided to go to the Church to have the evil expelled from him. As he explained his symptoms to two Bishops, he began to realize he sounded mad, however the younger Bishop asked him to show the mark. The two men spoke quietly in a language he didn’t understand, before explaining what he was. It was a mark of evil, but it had always been in him, poisoning and darkening his world.
He’d been sent away by the Bishops to another magic user, this time a warlock rather than witches. William Weyden showed him how to access his powers and how to create from the evil within him. He practiced religiously honing his power until he mastered every level from beginning to advanced. Eric blocked out all other things from his life and poured himself into his work, it was this that caught the eye of Ronan Cleirigh. He offered to mentor Eric in his final years of training, to push him to become more than he was before. Eric accepted and was well on his way to excellence. It was with the Cleirigh family that Eric discovered he wasn’t evil, nor were his powers. They all had different sources of magic, and it was no indication of who they were. He and Ronan formed a strong bond, and after his training had ended, the older warlock offered his name to Eric. A symbolic way of cementing him into the family. He declined, desiring instead to make his own mark known. → The Present
Eric is completely satisfied with where he is at in life right now. In his free time he is helping Cat with her secret house, teaching Ashley to use her powers to make charms, assisting Chai and Belle with potions and craftsmanship. Eric usually fills up his days but also finds time for his friends. Finding time is getting hard since Eric has enrolled into the local University. Eric has never attended school in his near one thousand years on Earth. He was self taught until he found his mentor, Ronan, and continued to learn from him. Wanting to challenge himself and genuinely accomplish something people his age usually do not, Eric is in pursuit of his Interdisciplinary Studies with 3 different concentrations and a minor.
Eric is unsure who Skylar is to him. He has pulled all of his resources to find out if she is his own daughter or niece without alerting her that he might be her father and not her uncle. Eric is over the moon with the possibility that there might be another first generation Lasiter out there but is sick that they would give up their own child. He has contacted all of the women he’s been with that are still alive and they’ve all denied giving birth to a baby girl. The possibility that she is indeed his niece are getting higher and higher. He has enrolled the help of a few Mark Finders to help expedite the process. Recently, he has offered Skylar to stay with him and recommended her to Jace Cicero to help her with her developing mental powers.

Ok two months to go lets hear it: Who lives and who dies?
My death list is actually kind of short, but (probably) controversial:
The Mountain
Beric Dondarrion
Melisandre
Varys
Viserion
Cersei Lannister
Jaime Lannister
Jorah Mormont
Euron Greyjoy
Theon Greyjoy
The Night King
Sansa Stark
Jon Snow*
(*but he will be resurrected)
You’ll notice one very big name - perhaps the biggest - happens to be absent from my list. I’m not so sure I believe the leaks. *shrug*
My explanations and reasoning under the cut.
The Mountain
Of course, The Mountain is already dead, so this feels little redundant. I don’t think Cleganebowl is happening. The Mountain isn’t the same person Sandor had beef with, and Sandor isn’t the same person he once was. *shrug* I’m personally rooting for the Arya-takes-down-the-Mountain theory.
Varys
There’s a good chance that Melisandre is wrong about Varys’ death (like she’s wrong about well, almost everything):
“I have to die in this strange country, just like you.”
But we pair that with the line from Daenerys:
“If you ever betray me, I’ll burn you alive”
…and it seems to seal his fate (I don’t buy for a second he’s got allegiance to anyone but himself). Of course, there’s a chance it could be a line foreshadowing someone else’s death that’s been ‘leaked’. We’ll see!
Viserion
I could argue that Viserion is already dead… but since “(The Night King)’s done the same thing to Viserion that he did with Craster’s sons,” I assume he’s a dragon version of an other. That’s probably not too important, anyway.
I think Viserion will be taken down by Drogon, mirroring Viserys and Drogo *shrug* I love my parallels, don’t I?
Cersei Lannister
When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. Eh, eh?
For as much as everyone cries “cliche!” about Jaime being the valonqar, imagine if all that foreshadowing was traded in for some shock value, and someone like Sansa does it. *shudders* Nah, man. I want Jaime to mirror himself - the Kingslayer/Queenslayer who took down both mad monarchs threatening to ignite King’s Landing in green flames - finally getting recognized for his act of heroism. That’s much more satisfying than a quick shock that has no buildup. But I suppose, there is a pretty good chance the valonqar is Euron.
(Though I do admit - I would actually love for Cersei Lannister to make it out of this alive, somehow)
Jaime Lannister
“I cannot die while Cersei lives. We will die together as we were born together.”
Both twins have weird lines like this. So, it’s fair to assume if one dies, they both die. And if one lives, they both live. So if Cersei is brought down, Jaime will be, too. How do I see it happening? Perhaps by one last (poisonous) kiss - wherein Brienne comes in to cradle him as the life drains from his body? I dunno. But after all, he wants to die in the arms of the woman he loves, and for better or worse - that’s Brienne.
Jorah Mormont
It’s been long speculated that in season 8, we’ll be seeing a ‘beloved’ character turn into a wight - and I think the best candidate is Jorah Mormont (keep in mind we’re talking show Jorah, who is leagues better than book Jorah).
Admittedly, I do notoriously give D&D more credit than like, anyone else around here. That said - I’m not sure the polar bear thing was entirely for “coolness” factor, like they claim. The moment I heard this line, followed by Jorah looming eerily over Beric…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I thought for sure we’d see this paid off in the very same episode. To me, it just seems wildly out of place and a waste of dialogue. I hope it’s some clever foreshadowing that we’re going to see a dead 'Bear’ of Bear Isle biting someone next season.
Of course, there is always a chance that the greyscale might play some sort of role in preventing Jorah from turning… I guess we’ll see!
Lastly, I’ve always been intrigued by Jon holding a Mormont shield during the BotB - I have a tendency to read too much into everything, I admit - but wouldn’t it be great if Jorah died saving Jon’s hide?
Tumblr media
Euron Greyjoy & Theon Greyjoy
For as formidable as book Euron may be - I don’t see him living. This series just isn’t about evil prevailing. What I think he will do, however, is attack Jon and/or Daenerys at sea, perhaps as they try to flee the north. I’m one of those annoying people who thinks very few lines of dialogue are wasted in-show, and this one is a fucking thorn in my side:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think Theon will succeed in taking down Euron (I think this scene is a great foreshadowing that he’s going to save house Greyjoy by saving Yara), but it will likely be at the cost of his own life. I suspect he’ll not only save Yara - but perhaps some members of his other house, too. After all, he’s a Greyjoy and he’s a Stark.
The Night King
Oh, this one is fun, isn’t it? I’m probably the only person who doesn’t want the Night King to die - but I’m pretty sure he will and that I know how it’ll happen. First, we’ll finally get to see Vladimír Furdík’s stuntwork paid off in the final season, which almost ensures there will be an epic showdown between Jon and the Night King.
But you shouldn’t want Jon to defeat him! (Or Daenerys, for that matter!) Why?
“The gods hate kinslayers, even when they kill unknowing.”
This quote is specifically told to Jon by Ygritte when she recounts the tale of Bael the Bard. Interestingly, Bael the Bard heavily mirrors Rhaegar x Lyanna. And what also happens to mirror Lyanna, is how Sam and Jon become friends. Jon comes to his rescue as he’s getting his ass whooped by his fellow black brothers - just like his momma coming to Howland Reed’s aid. Both Jon and Lyanna go out of their way to further humiliate the tormenters, too.
I predict the Night King will disarm Jon Snow and in this crucial moment, and that’s when Sam the Slayer will thrust Heartsbane through his back (perhaps melted down into more wieldable daggers by Gendry?), Howland Reed-style, saving Jon’s life and frankly, blowing everyone’s minds.
Because after all…
“Everything that happens will be something that you’ve seen before.”
Buuuut it’s going to be about as satisfying as Arthur Dayne’s demise - as we’re going to learn of the Night King’s history, and perhaps that his death marked not only the death of the wights and white walkers - but all of Craster’s sons, perhaps wiping out a whole misunderstood race.
‘A villain is the hero of the other side’, after all - and if you’re familiar with my theory that the Night King is the one using his greenseeing powers to manipulate the visions in the flames that the followers of R'hllor see… then this line by Beric might foreshadow his death:
Tumblr media
And that our heroes, the 'enemy’, will win.
Sansa Stark
Before anyone comes for me, there’s a fair amount of eerie foreshadowing - at least in the books. If the season 7 script leaks are to be believed, Sansa might still be the 'lone wolf’ she warned against last season, distancing herself from her family out of jealousy or paranoia.
The way I see it going down, though, (if it does at all) the Stark girls will mirror their direwolves - and Sansa just might die in her sister’s place, saving her life.
Jon Snow
First, let’s look at the conversation between Jon and Melisandre prior to the Battle of the Bastards:
“Any advice?”
“Don’t lose.”
“If I do, if I fall don’t bring me back.”
“I’ll have to try.”
“I’m ordering you not to bring me back.”
“I am not your servant, Jon Snow.”
“You’re in my camp. I’m the commander.”
“I serve the Lord of Light. I do what he commands.”
“How do you know what he commands?”
“I interpret his signs as well as I can.”
“If the Lord didn’t want me to bring you back, how did I bring you back? I have no power. Only what he gives me and he gave me you. Why? I don’t know. Maybe you’re only needed for this small part of his plan and nothing else. Maybe he brought you here to die again.”
Other than that, we’ve got some fucked up lines from Sansa:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Thanks, Sansa. Great job.)
As well as Beric:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alternatively, there is some amazing book foreshadowing that Jon will live.
Why include in the story Beric has come back from the dead multiple times, at all? Why tell us that each time he comes back, he’s a bit less of himself? He’s not a major character. Is it all just for 'flavor’ - or are we being groomed to see it happen again to someone we love?
And how bittersweet would that be - seeing Jon come back a second time, but not quite the man he used to be - the one we all grew to love.
I love the theory that Jon Snow is Dany’s mount, treason, and fire for love - and that she’s the one who commits treason against him, by possibly demanding he be brought back 'against his will’ (though, considering he’s a father-to-be and potential newlywed, I don’t think he’ll gripe about it as much in season 8 as he would’ve in season 6.)
When Jon died the first time - I thought for sure he’d come back in some blaze of glory. That they’d try to burn his body, but he’d have this epic 'Unburnt’ moment, like Dany (lol). I’d like to see Dany wake a dragon a second time with some sort of similar funeral pyre that she walks into… except that two people walk out instead of one.
I know, I know. *adjusts tinfoil hat*
But Sam Tarly happens to agree with me:
Tumblr media
Always.
Tumblr media
Beric Dondarrion
Considering the man gave his life long ago for Catelyn to become Lady Stoneheart in the books, I think his entire purpose for still kickin’ around in Season 8 is to give someone the 'Last Kiss’. Not really a unique idea, no. Popular candidates tend to be Sandor (after all, he tells him 'We will meet again’), Daenerys, or one of the Stark kids. But my money’s on Jon.
Melisandre
I’m an atheist (like GRRM), and therefore, I more or less despise Melisandre for basically convincing what used to be a good man to burn his daughter alive. That’s some Abraham and Isaac shit right there (and that shit better happen in the books because it’s powerful AF commentary and I’m here for it).
All that said, what I’d love to happen with Melisandre is to see her realize her god isn’t real (assuming the Night King has been messing with her visions), and have a personality crisis/breakdown. Afterward, if my theory about Jon happens to be true, she’ll play a role in bringing him back, perhaps even lending her life in the process. Buuuut I wouldn’t mind Gendry’s future wife avenging his cousin’s death and closing her 'blue eyes’ forever.
As for the rest…
People I’m unsure will live or die:
Drogon 🤞
Ghost 🤞
Nymeria 🤞
Davos Seaworth 🤞
Tyrion Lannister 🤞
Sandor Clegane 🤞
Grey Worm 🤞
Bronn
Ned Umber
Alys Karstark
People I think will live:
Samwell Tarly
Gilly
Daenerys Targaryen
Arya Stark
Bran Stark
Little Sam
“Boatbaby”
Rhaegal
Gendry
Missandei
Jon Snow (resurrected)

( DANIEL SHARMAN, CISMALE, HE/HIM ) I, NATHAN GREENE am a REGULAR student and would hereby like to submit my application to Kingswood Boarding School. I am 18 years old and will be a SENIOR. I would describe myself as GUILEFUL and STRIKING, but also STANDOFFISH and POWER-HUNGRY which I plan to work on during my time here. This is my request to join the EDWARD building as a house MEMBER and look forward to hearing back from you. [ IDIOT CHILD, 20, EST, SHE/THEY.]
Tumblr media
i havent changed this blog at all yet, so yes this is just amos’ tumblr djsgfjh i’ll get to fixing it up eventually but i really just wanted to get this up before i pass out xoxo.
tw: cancer, death. implied self destruction, drug mention,
nathaniel green grew up happy, albeit perhaps a lil dorky--but ultimately, the young boy was happy.
he loved his parents, his brother, the quaint town they’d grow up in--it was a supportive environment, enriched with love
so how did little nathan grow up to be such a massive prick? the leader of a secret society?
he’d always grown up the more responsible twin, the one who kept life organized and tidied and always did his homework and extra credit and really...just, stayed close to his studies.
the kinda boy who loved flowers but dared not pick them, knowing they’d die if he did so
it was a naive lifestyle.
when the boys were 12, their mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.
nathan had never known heartbreak until he heard the news, and he did everything a 12 year old could possibly do to keep his family happy in times so dark
ultimately; it was not enough. she passed away before their freshmen year and a part of the young boy had died as well.
as noah delved into a life of partying and drugs, nathan had stuck strongly to his studies. more so than most young boys, really. with their father struggling both emotionally and financially, nate had determined that it was up to him to restore their family’s financial security.
his ambitions have always ran high. and he always found a way to succeed.
even if it required getting his hands dirty
never allowed himself to get below an A, because he was not a failure--if his grades ever did slip, he was sure to punish himself. it was only right.
the joy in the boy’s eyes had died, and nathan was no longer the sweet boy his family had known and loved
kingswood had never met that child, in fact.
he’s all about business, and achieving his goals. there’s no room for kindness when you’ve got an empire to conquer.
involved himself in as many clubs and sports as he thought he could manage, as a means to put himself in positions of power.
though just a regular student on a partial scholarship, his ambition is what led to him being welcomed into edward
his junior year he had started his very own cybersecurity freelance business, funded by a select few...connections the young man had made networking during the school’s more prestigious events, including a few members on the board of trustees.
this is when the boy really started making money
like...a lot of fucking money
he had created his own security program, y’know? just. a lotta fancy shit.
it was also the same year he had been approached by the shadow brigade, having been recruited the summer before his junior year.
they saw his potential; wanted to harness it. so he joined.
was it strenuous and at times painful? yes.
but was it oh so worth it
when he turned 18 is when he turned his cybersecurity business into a full-on company, with his own workers. effectively made himself a CEO.
like homeboy is probably going to be accepted to multiple ivy leagues for his intelligence and ambition
the same year, his senior year, he’s been...promoted, in a way, in the society. as their leader.
yes this means he’s mc’smuggling drugs
yes he’s super full of himself.
still sorta keeps to himself, though. reserved but well known.
uuuhh what else... hmm...
ran away for a month or two his senior year with this chick who was NOT the girlfriend he had been in a committed relationship with for several months prior.
it was a business thing, more-so him being dumb and in love when he decided to run away, okay?
her father was a fairly influential man and nathan had decided the best way to gather his attention was to run off with his daughter.
i mean...it worked.
came back to kingswood purely because the brigade alumni had enough of his childish foolery
not nathan’s proudest moment, but he still holds his head high. he got what he wanted, so why should he be ashamed?
the school population likely thinks it’s ‘cos he loved the gal, but, nah.
not really sure if nathan’s capable of love anymore.
anyWHO. most definitely not going to use his cybersecurity company for good lmao. right now he’s building it and gaining it a reputation
but...who knows what he’s going to do in the future?
i wouldn’t call him a...millionaire, just yet, but he’s the man whose children go to kingswood as legacies because of the mark he leaves on the country, or world. either/or.
has become a lil popular in the media because of his fast-rising success. but a mans is doing what a mans should do.
sends money to his father ‘cos somebody’s got to.
GOD he loves his brother but thinks noah is just. a moron. they’re pretty estranged.
he’S LIKE...kind of an asshole ?? very honest but also a fucking liar. tells it how it is but is shrouded in mystery and fishy business.
absolutely judges you for the smallest things.
is...a lil charming, though, when he wants to be.
i mean mans is HOT.
will use you for whatever means. like he’s just...like that
i’d consider him a strong lawful evil.
has maybe cared for one (1) person in his entire life outside of his family
so...don’t be fooled if you think he cares for you.
finds his reputation to be extremely important, would do anything to protect it.
im tired n i cant think anymore
wanted connections
his ex gf from before he ran away is reese dupont, HOWEVER; whose the gal he ran away with, huh?? may send a connection in for this since...y’know, they did run away
fellow edward pals. preferably with the same sort of mindset of ambition.
hookups. he’s not on his brother’s level but...c’mon
maybe another ex gf from his underclassmen years
ex-hookups too
people he’s using because he finds them useful in some sort of way.
maybe a genuine friend or two.
a ride or die
a weak spot lmao, somebody who gets on his mind too much
a thorn in his side. a general annoyance.
maybe an enemy or two, actually a lot djgdkhfgjh he’s not friendly
gimme some brigade members gdi
i mean im p much down for anything as long as ur aware that nathan is a mean mean dude.
people dealing drugs for the brigade, esp.
ppl he tutors also possibly
god i donT KNoW just hmu

Loyalty Chapter 21: On The Road To The League
Zed Pov
"There is no need for you to apologize. That’s your decision and we have to respect it." Even if he doesn’t understand at all. But Kayn finally had the choice of being the Shadow Assassin he always wanted to be. He could take it easy with Zed. Okay, he could do that with Rhaast and maybe his decision was the right one. " Thank you, master, I mean, if I betray Rhaast now the trust that we have in each other would be broken and I would never get a benefit from his immortality. That’s why I believe it’s better for me to build a healthy relationship between us, I hope I didn’t disappoint you. Kayn could not disappoint him anymore. Zed came close and hugged him, in front of all the ones reunited. He stroked Kayn's corrupted shoulder. It was important for him to know that he had Zed’s full trust. "I'm proud of you, my boy. I will always support you. No matter what decision you make."
Before his students could build even more hatred towards Kayn, Zed released him. "Come, my students. It's getting late. Let's go eat. Summoning my shadow clones has cost a lot of strength." " Fine, master. But can you please explain to me what was that from before. You didn’t even take it seriously. You barely hit me except for a few cuts. I do not even bleed anymore." Everyone was shocked by the way Kayn treated their master. What all of them didn’t know was that Zed smiled under his mask. Of course, he didn’t take the battle with seriousness. It was all for testing purposes. However, he found funny that Kayn doesn’t bleed anymore. " Any idea why you cannot bleed?." "Hello? Did you forget about me? Apparently yes. Only for you stupidity knowledge. Kayn’s Shadow Step can heal him. I am immortal. So if he becomes a Shadow Assassin, through me and not stabbing his chest I am able to heal him during the transformation. But only during that short of time. That’s why it was wise of Kayn to go back. Otherwise, he would never get benefits from my immortality ever again."
“Does that mean that you heal for complete when you change body?” Zed asked curiously. “Yes …” Rhaast replied dully. That was indeed a very important realization. “Good. It was definitely the right decision. But let’s go eat first. We can discuss later on how you will continue together in the future.” All obeyed their master and followed him into the dining room. Kayn always stayed close to him. He was visibly uncomfortable with his comrades. It was really hard to restore his reputation. No matter how well Zed portrayed him It didn’t help in absolute, his men hated him and that’s wasn’t going to change that fast.
At the dining table, the mood did not get any better. Kayn was a thorn in the side of his men. He really did not understand anything anymore. His student was now in control. What do they want from him then? At this point, all he could do was to control Rhaast. Zed noticed that all his students had their gazes locked on the weapon behind Kayn. His best pupil, on the other hand, scanned the seats with his eyes. Zed suspected evil … “Master? Where is everybody going? I didn’t want to say anything this morning because the mood was so bad, but some comrades are missing or am I wrong?” “Kayn … we talk about this later. I’ll tell you everything you want, but please not at the dinner table.” Zed tried as best as he could to distract him from the topic. Unfortunately, his clan didn’t cooperate. “How would the seats be filled when everyone is injured or dead? Could Kayn please explain that to us?” “Yes, Kayn! It’s all your fault!” Everything got out of hand. Several acolytes go mad against Kayn and it seems like there was no way to stop them. It was not his fault, but Zeds, he failed. Kayn looked confused. He doesn’t understand the world anymore, Zed could see that through his cabin. However, it was not good just sit there and do nothing.
"Do you have it soon?!" Zed yelled through the hall. Suddenly it became quiet. “You really don’t have any clue, right? Kayn stayed all this time in his room. He followed my command it was me who failed against Xayah and Rakan, not him. So stop bothering him. He did a great job meanwhile we were outplayed by two birds. First, take hold of your own business before condemning another person. For God’s sake! Are you my students or a bunch of teenagers looking for their next victim to bully? You must be all be ashamed of yourselves.”
Zed could not stand watching his men at Kayn. He still looked innocent and did not understand the world anymore. The rest also remained silent. Unfortunately, it did not solve the real problem. Kayn remained as their target, even though nobody said a word after that. Zed sat aside his barely-touched food and reached for Kayn’s wrist. He just wanted to take him away from there. His pupil reached for his scythe and left the room with his master. Together, they went to Kayn’s room, where Rhaast found a new place in the dresser. “What the hell?! are you kidding me? I thought we were partners." "We are partners. That’s why I want to save you from certain scenes. Just sleep. Safe is safe.”
Zed could only hear from their conversation that his student had planned to spend the evening kissing him again. Great … the master of the Shadows really wasn’t in the mood. He was still troubled by the memories of his defeat. Zed sat down on the edge of Kayn’s bed and took off his mask. After the boy finished talking with his weapon, he joined him. Zed knew exactly what was to come. "Zed ... what happened?" For the first time in a long while, Kayn just called him by his name and he was very grateful to him for that. He really did not want to be a master in the story. It was just too embarrassing.
"Sorry Kayn, the others are so mean to you. It was not your fault, it was mine. While you were here locked up, I also locked myself. I didn’t want to see anyone and I did not feel like doing anything. Without you, I felt empty. The bad thing was that I was not at my best. Nevertheless, I went on an important mission with some of the elite unit, but also from the weaker ranks. That was a fatal decision on my part. I was not in my senses. I have never been so unfocused. My body and mind were not in line. And so we failed. The others blame you for being sure that my lousy mood is related to you. They're right, too. But not because I'm sorry for you, but because I can not stand without you Kayn. You are my best friend. To see you suffering like that, my non-existent heart broke. Do you understand what I mean? I was often so close to walking to you and liberating you, even though you were not ready yet. Just so I could look you in the face. It would be a very selfish act of mine, which is why I left it. Instead, I was lying in bed, just thinking about how I could help you. I did not really come close to a solution. I'm sorry Kayn. I really did not want you to suffer. Unfortunately, it was inevitable. I hope you can forgive me."
Kayn hacked into Zed's left hand with his right hand and laid his head on his shoulder. "I've never been angry with you, Zed. You just did your job. I would have liked to support you, unfortunately, I could not. The risk was too high. And if the others want to mark me as their culprit, then leave them. Anyway, I do not think they'll ever trust me again. I also missed you terribly and have to hold back from not visiting you. But you know me. I can not resist your orders. No matter how stupid they may be ... " "What's that supposed to mean?" Zed questioned. "Sry, but 100 men were a lot for me. It was a suicide squad. I would be dead without Rhaast." "Yeah. I saw that too. And I wanted to bring you back, but you were already gone. I really hope you can forgive me." Kayn leaned over to Zed and kissed him on the lips. That was enough answer.
Although Zed initially did not feel like this kind of closeness, the kiss was incredibly good. He knew for sure that he would be with him forever and ever. No matter how much pain the boy will take from him. Kayn loved his body and soul. The least he could do was try to reciprocate that love. Zed broke away from the kiss to take off his armor. From Kayn's closet, he got some sleep clothes and changed. "I have enough for today. I will take free the rest of the day. What about you Kayn? Do you want to cuddle with me?" His student nodded and also changed. When they found themselves together again in bed, they did not really know how to position themselves. The father-son-mesh did not work anymore ...
Kayn Pov
Somehow Kayn felt uncomfortable when Zed locked him in his arms. Of course, the position was nothing new, but still, it felt very wrong. When they kissed each other and Zed pulled Kayn closer to him on his hips, the keg came to him. He was not Zed's wife. Kayn broke away from the kiss and glared at Zed. "What is it?" His master asked. "What's that crap Zed? I'm not a woman. Can not you make out with me like a man? Yesterday everything was okay and now you’re trying to make me submissive? You can calm that down as a master, but not as a lover. Let it be." Zed just looked at him in confusion. He did not understand what Kayn meant until his student pointed him to his hand on Kayn's hip. Zed immediately took his hand away. "Sorry ... I never had anything with a man. No idea how I should behave there. Please be patient with me ... Do you have experience with a man?"
Suddenly Kayn blushed. He did not really know if he should tell Zed the whole story. Unfortunately, he was like an open book to him, so Zed leaned over Kayn and pinned him to the bed with both arms so he could not escape. "Okay, okay. I'll tell you. It was like that ... 3 months ago there was this one sharp woman who could wrap anyone around her finger, including me. I wanted to fuck her, but she allowed me only when I deflowered in exchange her gay best friend. I thought so, hey why not? I'm in love with a man anyway, so fuck it. And that's how I ended up in my first and last fiend's threesome." Zed stared at his student with wide-eyed. Kayn has no idea that the Ionic eyes could open that wide.
"Y-you..had a threesome? 2 men, 1 woman? Was it worth it for the woman and .... and were you the dominant? ", Zed seemed to be very fascinated. Somehow Kayn was embarrassing, but there was no escape. "Yes, I was dominant in both cases. move to another topic now? Memories that I repressed are coming back." Zed released him and lay down next to him. "Was not it cool to be with a man?" "No, ah ... it's complicated. It was cool yes. But only until the time I came. After that, it was just a fiesta ... The man had not emptied his contents before ... and ... shit. Can we please change the subject?" Ah! holy shit Kayn. Oh my god… I can see your memories … what ?! Dude … I’ll turn off the spot … Ahhhh !!! Do you really want to have sex with Zed after that experience? Kayn wasn’t sure. Basically, he did not want more than a smooch. He was not ready yet.
"Okay ... I understand Kayn. So just kissing?" "Yes, please ... ", Kayn replied highly motivated. After the conversation, he could no longer look Zed in the eye. It was just too embarrassing for him. Zed felt it too and left him alone. "Hey, Kayn. Another topic. What are you going to do with Rhaast now? Have you ever thought to swap roles with him in combat? Always depending on who stands in front of you? So not either or, but Shadow to switch to Darkin in the same second and vice versa. By that I mean to jump directly between the level as 'normal' Kayn. Do you think you can do it?" That was indeed a good question. "Maybe. The problem is that there is no communication between us. When I am a Darkin, I can not speak anymore. The one how is in control have to speak out loud and the other one just listen and mentally prepare for an exchange. It’s going to be difficult … " "Understood ... Let's go on a mission tomorrow and train the flowing change." Kayn nodded in agreement. There was nothing else left for him.
"Kayn ... do you want to be the big spoon? You've been wanting that for 2 years don't you?" Surprised, he looked at his master and realized that it was full of seriousness. "Eh .... yes? May I really?" "Sure. But only on a trial basis. If I do not like it, we'll switch again." Kayn agreed unconditionally and hugged Zed from behind. Before falling asleep, Zed turned around and gave Kayn a good night kiss.
...
The next morning Kayn regretted being the big spoon immediately. Holding Zed in the arms was nice, but the pressure of Zed’s ass was more than embarrassing. Immediately, Kayn turned away as he noticed where his morning latte had made himself comfortable. Fortunately, his master slept, but not his 'partner'. You are helpless, still, you don’t want to have sex either. Please explain that to me again… Kayn wondered if Rhaast ever had sexual intercourse. It's complicated. My kind has … let’s say sex too, but it’s… different. But we are able to reproduce. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to have siblings. Unfortunately, that did not answer Kayn's actual question. If you do not stop asking stupid questions, I'll take your penis and rape your master. Just for the record, when you become the Darkin, an exact replica of my original body. Similar but not 1 to 1. And now silent.
Rhaast was angry and somehow that amuses Kayn. Somehow it amused him. But good to know that Rhaast kept his tail. After all, he could specify it. Pff ... sure ... Kayns erection decreased before Zed woke up. He turned to Kayn and kissed him. "Morning Kayn ... slept well?" "Yes ... and you?" "Everything's fine. Except that I don’t let your forearm stretch." Kayn knew exactly what he meant by that. Several times his arm became numb laying under Zed upper body. How could he do that every time without complaining? Anyway, it was a nice change to be the bigger one, but he would not do it permanently. A warm butt was more important to him than the symbolic superiority.
...
After the modest breakfast, Zed, Kayn, and Rhaast went to a camp full of Noxians. This time their number was only about 70 men. No problem for 2 Shadow Assassins and a Darkin. Alone Rhaast could eliminate them by himself, but that would not be in terms of training. Before they attacked the wooded camp, Kayn had to balance his strategy with Rhaast. " So my friend, is there any other way to change roles with you instead of stabbing the blade into my chest?" "Haha yes. But it was so much fun. In principle, my blade only has to cost of your blood. If you submit to me voluntarily anyway, it will be a breeze." "Really Rhaast?" Kayn asked pissed off. "According to me. I just cut my left arm when you should come out. That's where the connection to you is strongest anyway." "Okay ... then I just concentrate that bit of shadow magic that I've learned on our right arm, that's your sign to appear. I pick the thicknesses and you take care of the shooters. Meanwhile, Zed can drink tea without hesitation. Give us a minute. And we’ll be done ."
Zed held his hands protectively over his chest and stepped back. The stage belonged to them and the first actor was Kayn. He became the Shadow Assassin to close the distance from his location to the camp within a millisecond. Once there, he fought the guards with bows and swords. Afterward, Kayn tried the fluid exchange and cut the meat with the point of the blade. In the Shadow Step, Kayn switched from Assassin to Darkin. Rhaast understood his task and focused on the Juggernauts. When he took them down, he exchanged with Kayn. He took care of the swordsmen who came to him with a Blade's Reach. After that, there was not much left of the Noxians. Finally, a gigantic Juggernaut emerged from the forest and attacked Kayn. He flew first 5 meters and crashed unpleasantly against a tree. Kayn quickly cut into his left upper arm and relinquished control to Rhaast. The Darkin did not find it funny how their opponent dealt with Kayn and sent him straight to hell.
After the fight was over, Kayn became a hybrid again. All his wounds were gone, but still, he was breathing hard. He was exhausted, tired. His eyelids were getting heavier. "Hey, Kayn! Do not go limp." The young acolyte felt Zed hold him from behind. "Shit Master ... That drained all of my power. So the change." "Yes, but it was fluent and successful. Maybe this is not a technique for everyday use, but when the going gets tough, you can take advantage of it to make you a good team." "Lick me!" Rhaast did not like the word team neither if that meant being with Kayn. Partner was still clear, but they were not a team.  Even if Kayn didn’t see any difference, it was there for Rhaast. But why? Because my siblings are my team. You ... you're just the perfect host. Don’t hope that I will work with you. I just like your job. Nothing more.
Whatever. Kayn's breathing stabilized again so he could stand without Zed's help. "Let's go home. I want to go to bed." "Shall I carry you?" Zed asked briskly. "I'm not your bride." Kayn snarled and started to move on his own. Zed followed him quietly but stayed close by so he could catch him in case of emergency. However, Kayn was too proud to be helped. Even if he loves him, if he won’t manage to get home on his own feet, then Kayn could feel ashamed for all eternity for what matter. Luckily, his body wasn’t injured. He was just deadly tired. When they arrived home, Kayn immediately threw himself on Zed’s bed. His Master followed him but retired earlier. Together, they just lay in bed and kissed. So they also spent the rest of Zed’s vacation …
Three weeks later...
At last, it was time. Kayn stood with his master at the entrance gates of the Institution of War. Both were intercepted at the reception. Zed had to go through a fingerprint scanner, as he never showed his face to the persons from the staff and there was no other way to identify him. When his identity was confirmed, he was allowed to pass. Kayn, however, was not even registered. "Let him through. He belongs to me. We want to go to the committee to register him." Immediately they let Kayn pass but with a stern look towards his weapon. They were used to weird characters, but they still remained skeptical. When they arrived at the office, they entered without knocking. With Kayn, it was easy to credit him for even crossing the threshold. In the room was an oblong table with 5 important-looking persons in large robes.
"Zed, how can we help you?" " Thank you for allowing me an audience. I’m here because my best student wants to join the League." The five of them took a closer look at Kayn. Maybe he should not have come half naked for a job interview. "Young man step closer and please introduce yourself. Tell us your motivation to join the league." He had practiced this conversation 100 times with Zed in the last few weeks. It already pisses him off that he had to lie. But that was the only way he became more interesting. "My name is Shieda Kayn. I am with Master Zed since he found me as a small child on the battlefield. Before, as a child soldier, I served the Noxian forces, but since then, I hate Noxus. With Zed, I learned the most secret arts of shadow magic. I am also a weapons master. There is no weapon I can not control. And now this is my actual motivation…" Kayn took Rhaast in Both Hands and presented him the 5th. "This is Rhaast. He is one of the 5 legendary Darkins. I've been able to prevent him from taking over my body, but he's still fighting it." Kayn just thought 'now'. At his cue, Rhaast corrupted his left arm and eye. The board jumped slightly as Kayn changed.
"That's the current result of the Darkin. I'm just a hybrid, but soon it could be different. I can hear him in my head and he tortures me with his evil laugh. But still, I can screw him too. In plain language, we only argue. The final outcome of our conflict should be in the league. I will not give up control, but he will not. If I win I will become a Shadow Assassin like Master Zed, but if Rhaast wins, I will become a Darkin. I'm ready to fight this fight forever in the league of legends." At first, no one said a word but then everyone starts clapping at him. It was that a good sign, right?
"My goodness ... We have not heard such an interesting story for a long time. I think we agree on hiring you. Please come back in the summer. We would be very happy to have you here." Just a moment ... in summer? It was just January. He could not wait for 6 months. "But summer is pretty late. Can not I just stay here in the meantime?" " Unfortunately, that won’t work. two ionic champions are scheduled for this spring and we cannot offer you a room in the Ionian quarters section. Xayah and Rakan are the priority right now.  "XAYAH AND RAKAN?!?!?!? !!?!? Are you fucking serious?! First, you put Jhin in front of my nose and now the two birds?! You really have to hate me, right? And now you want to send my student home just because you can not find a bed for him?! Ridiculous!"
A stupid coincidence after another. Zed was really pissed off hard. Understandable. "We are very sorry that you have not been feeling like you lately, but we do not have a room for Kayn. If you find someone willing to share, then you can do that. But he will get his own room at the earliest in 5 months.", Said the man in the middle. All the talk gave Kayn an idea. "I could live with Master Zed. He's theoretically my dad and at home, his room is not far from mine, so that will not be a problem for us." The board was amazed when Kayn put the word father in his mouth. "So if Zed does not mind, Shieda Kayn can stay here quietly." "Hm, what?" Zed asked. He was so absorbed into his rage that he had missed the conversation. " Could your student live with you temporarily?", Asked the woman at the right wing. "Eh ..", Zed paused before answering. "Never mind. Of course, he can stay with me. Everything he asks for is deducted from my salary. I worry about his wellbeing anyway. Why not here too." Zed turned, pulled Kayns arm and took him out of the room. That meant that Kayn officially belonged to the League, right?

DC/Marvel Short Story
Wonder Woman, Shazam, Scarlet Witch, and Captain America all sat eating lunch together at the local cafe in a small suburb of New York dressed in their civilian clothing. The Justice League and Avengers members had become close friends after several battles and adventures together. The teams members would constantly use their respective world's portal to cross over whenever the other team needed assistance or sometimes just to visit, as was the case today. All of the respective members of the Justice League and Avengers has become good friends and close allies of each other. Wonder Woman's civilian identity was Diana Prince, Shazam's was Billy Batson, Scarlet Witch's was Wanda Maximoff, and Captain America's was Steve Rogers. Meanwhile at a HYDRA base hidden underneath the Potomac River, the evil Red Skull, Nicholas Scratch, and Doctor Thaddeus Sivana sat around a conference table planning an attack on New York City. “The Avengers and Justice League will never see our attack coming!”, Red Skull said maniacally. “This will be the time we finally destroy them for once and for all!”, said Doctor Sivana. “These heroes have been a thorn in our side for too long! Its time to end them for good!”, said Nicholas Scratch with a psychotic smile. Red Skull rised up from the table and ordered his HYDRA troops to get ready to mobilize and move out on New York City.  Back at the diner, the four heroes were finishing up their meal. “Man, this cafe has the best sandwiches!.” said Shazam. “Definitely! The bread is flavored just right and the meat and cheese is very tender!”, said Wonder Woman. “New York has some of the best eating places ever! We love trying out new place sand taking our friends with us!”, said Scarlet Witch. “Indeed! The Avengers are very fortunate to know the Justice League.”, said Captain America. The four friends sat laughing and enjoying visiting with each other when all of a sudden the ground began to mildly tremble and the sound of heavy footsteps could be heard, along with the sound of several voices loudly chanting “Hail HYDRA!”.
The heroes quickly donned their combat attire and rushed outside. Captain America immediately contacted SHIELD headquarters to send reinforcements. The army of HYDRA troops stopped in its tracks and Red Skull, Doctor Sivana, and Nicholas Scratch marched to the front of the formation. “Ah! Captain Rogers and Ms. Maximoff! Welcome to your oblivion along with the destruction of New York City!”, said Red Skull maniacally. “Wonder Woman and Shazam! You will bear witness as we kill your friends and overrun this city! And then I will kill you both personally!”. said Doctor Sivana gleefully. “Wanda Maximoff! I will make you suffer agonizing pain before I kill you and take your power and become the most powerful sorcerer in the world!”, boasted Nicholas Scratch. “We will all fight to the last breath to defend this city and the innocent!”, all the heroes said together.
Red Skull ordered the HYDRA troops to start attacking the city and killing and capturing civilians. The reinforcements of SHIELD troops arrived just in time and started fighting the HYDRA troops. Red Skull engaged Captain America in hand to hand combat, Doctor Sivana engaged Wonder Woman and Shazam, and Nicholas Scratch engaged Scarlet Witch. Doctor Sivana used his scientifically engineered magical powers to fire lightning blasts at Diana and Billy that struck them both and knocked them to the ground. They both got up and charged at him again, but this time Shazam used a more powerful lightning blast counter Doctor Sivana and then Wonder Woman used her shield to block the blast sent her way. Wonder Woman then managed to wrap her lasso around Dcotor Sivana and Shazam used it as a conductor and  fired an electrical blast directly at Doctor Sivana which incapacitated him. Wonder Woman then used her sword to strike a non-lethal blow and knocked Doctor Sivana unconcious. Scarlet Witch was fighting Nicholas Scratch in a battle of spells. Scratch fired a dire spell at Wanda, but Wanda countered it with a water spell. Scratch then fired a lighting spell at Wanda that knocked her against a brick wall. As Nicholas Scratch prepared to deliver the final blow with another lightning spell. Wanda got to her feet suddenly and fired a tremendous shock-wave spell at Nicholas Scratch, which knocked him unconscious.  Red Skull was fighting Captain America in fierce hand-to-hand combat. They were both super soldiers with extensive knowledge of combat moves and tactics. As Red Skull delivered a powerful blow against Captain America's shield and knocked him back against a wall, Captain America suddenly had an idea of how to defeat Red Skull. Red Skull prepared to deliver another powerful blow to finish Captain America off, but as he charged, Captain America suddenly threw his shield right in the direction of Red Skull. Red Skull ducked to dodge the shield, and as he got back to his feet Captain America punched him directly in the face with a thunderous blow that knocked Red Skull unconscious.
With the three main villains defeated, the HYDRA soldiers began to retreat in dissaray. Despite heavy SHIELD troop casualties, civilian casualties in the city were kept to a minimum. All four heroes were bruised and bloodied from their respective fights. SHIELD and the police took Red Skull, Nicholas Scratch, and Doctor Sivana into custody. “This is what the heroes of the Avengers and the Justice League do. We protect the innocent and fight against evil!.” said  Captain America. Scarlet Witch, Shazam, and Wonder Woman all agreed whole-heartedly. The four heroes then all headed home to recover and rest and then continue their constant mission.

Part 56 Alignment May Vary: Interlude and Side Quest Suggestions
Tumblr media
There is an uneasy feeling as the players stand next to the Ghost Lord in the Lion’s Maw. Where do we go from here? Tyrion, as usual, is the first to break the ice, and he does so bluntly:
“So, you gonna help us kick some ass on the horde now?”
The Ghost Lord laughs and tells the players that, no, he has no intention of joining their fight long term. “Guys like Nazragul, Acererak, they always want to take over the world,” he says. “And where does that get them? A lot of hassle and constant visits from adventurers and would-be do-gooders. Acererak can’t even stay on this plane of existence he has so many enemies. And Nazragul? He’s in a hole. I set my sights on simpler things. My experiments. Maybe being left alone isn’t a grand goal, but I’ll tell you, long after everyone else has died chasing their damned grand goals, I’ll still be here, laughing as I watch the world turn.”
The Ghost Lord does agree to help Nazragul reshape his soul jar into something more sensible than the giant mass of muscle and tissue and undead organs that is currently growing out of Lady Dagger’s tortured body in the Maaken Temple.
“He never was much of a craftsmen,” The Ghost Lord grouses.
So the party travels with the Ghost Lord back across the Thornwaste. With the Ghost Lord at their side the journey is quick. The land itself opens up before his passage, the myriad thorns and other hazards retreating at his approach. He truly is the master of this land.
At the edge of the Thornwaste the players come across a character they have not met since the early days of the campaign: Joachim, the elderly and mysterious Yellow Robed Elf. While the Ghost Lord and Trellara hang back, so as not to terrify the travelers, the three more normal companions (nevermind Tyrion’s blue skin) join Joachim and his troop of bodyguards at his fire and have a strange conversation with him. Joachim speaks directly to Aldric (when the knight takes a break from flirting with the female mercenary, who brushes him off by saying she’s been married for 367 years) who asks if the elf knows anything about the creature that attacked Adlric’s troop and whom he had tracked into the Thornwaste.
Joachim does, in fact, know about it. It is a Behir, he tells Aldric, a creature that usually detests dragons yet for some reason is claiming to be the mother of the Dragonlord leading the Red Hand. This particular Behir is ancient, having plagued the Elsir Vale for a millenia. Whether Aldric will be the one to bring her down has not yet been seen in the stars.
Joachim also speaks to Nysyries, telling her that soon she will have to make a choice. She will know the moment when she is there and it will represent a cross roads in her life. What happens from that point forward will be up to her. They are cryptic words, and Nazragul shifts inside of her as they are spoken.
Finally, Joachim tells them that they are on the very edge of greatness, that there are three weapons very nearby that can be used to help them secure victory over the hoard. They used to reside in old Rhest and contributed to the land’s downfall in civil strife. He tells them that these weapons now reside with the dwarves in the southern mountains and that these weapons will be instrumental in fighting and defeating the Red Hand. With a flourish, he spreads a special powder into the fire and the flames rear up black and ominous as he looks at Aldric and speaks of the first weapon.
As Joachim speaks, the three grow more and more tired and suddenly realize that Joachim has placed a sleeping powder in the fire. The three pass out then awaken in the morning to find the others gone... except for one male mercenary left tied up like a hog for slaughter--a gift from Joachim to Nysyries, a gift that casts his alignment and goals in an even deeper mystery.

Setting the Side Quest: White Plume Mountain
The three weapons that Joachim tells them of are from White Plume Mountain.
One consistent problem with the original Red Hand of Doom module is its transitions between chapters. The best D&D adventures have either plot hooks that pull its character inexorably towards the next big thing after each chapter or have a hub city or NPC where more quests can be given. Red Hand has the problem of its hub city getting destroyed in the first chapter and, for the most part, of lacking compelling hooks. This problem is tied into the fact that every major adventure in the campaign is essentially a big side quest. Going to Rhest and going to the Ghost Lord’s lair does have an effect on the final battle and does bring players in direct conflict with their foe, the Red Hand, but it also leads to a dead end each time, always returning players to the “let’s get to Brindol” plot line afterwards. Because players know about Brindol from the start and don’t find out about this plan gradually, the plot can get a little stale as the main goal never changes.
I didn’t notice some of these problems until recently. The campaign gets touted so often as one of the best that I went in with some blinders on. Also, it is constantly complained about for being too easy, a complaint that I took to heart in my redesign but one which I’m not sure I actually agree with any more. Or rather, I do think as built it is an easy campaign, but I also think that is part of what makes it work. I think this campaign is supposed to make the players feel like they are stomping through the horde at each turn, bringing down dragons and lieutenants of the horde. You can tell this was the intent because at each step of the way, players are punished for not doing this! If they aren’t aggressive enough, the horde marshals its full strength at the Battle of Brindol and is much harder to defeat. If you take these victories away from the players or make them too challenging, then what you end up with is a campaign where the players are doing things to systemically make the horde weaker, but they are not doing anything to make themselves feel stronger.
Some of the problems I mentioned with the campaign I’ve addressed. Nazragul’s Maakengorge became my stand-in hub to keep the story moving. And I’ve pretty much eschewed the in-book timer to countdown to the horde’s arrival at Brindol. It’s a cool idea, but there just isn’t enough exciting things to do in all the time the module gives you to make this work. Chasing the horde across the land discourages players from going to Rhest and the Thornwaste and isn’t very much fun besides, mostly a series of random encounters with the horde. So get rid of that time system and just go with “the horde travels at plot speed.”
The one problem I didn’t address, and in fact probably contributed to creating, was the feeling of player weakness. Red Hand doesn’t need to be harder. At least pieces of it don’t. The Ghost Lord should be near impossible to fight. And taking on the whole horde at once should be a death sentence. Doing stupid things in Rhest and bringing the whole place down on you should be a bad idea. But the rank and file should feel easy and the lieutenants and dragons should be defeatable. It’s not individual encounters like this that are impressive about the horde: it’s their sheer size. Let the players feel like they are way above these fights but anytime they get close to the main army, its sheer size should turn them away. That’s when you shouldn’t be afraid to throw six chimera and two dozen hobgoblins at them (buff their health and proficiencies here if you need to to make them a bigger threat).
In any case, it’s not like my campaign has been a failure because of this. The players respect the horde and they’ve become good villains for them, too. They are really eager to defeat them at Brindol and I’m very much looking forward to that clash. We’ve also got to have some very tactical battles because of the challenge and some incredible close calls, like Nysyries blowing up the bridge. But because of the difficulty I made the campaign overall, it’s time to give the players something back, to make them feel like more than pawns on this chess board. They should at least be rooks *wink*
To that end, one final side quest before Brindol is in order. And the dwarves make a great catalyst for it. Honestly, I was surprised when the original module didn’t offer up the Dwarves in the Wyvernwatch mountains as a side quest post-Thornwaste. I literally thought I was missing a piece of the book. The mountains are right next to the Thornwaste and the Dwarves have already been given a plot hook back in the Witchwood where the payment for their services as mercenaries to Brindol had been waylaid. I thought that plot hook would be followed up by a short Dwarven adventure later on, maybe something that involved delving deep into the mountain to kill a Dragon and seize its treasure or recover some material to help the dwaves forge a mighty weapon to fight the Horde.
What I’m basically saying is that you should add a dwarven adventure into your own campaign at this point in the campaign. It’s too good of an opportunity to flesh out the world and as a story beat it creates a wonderful mirror of the “ally gathering” that happened in Rhest. That was an elvish adventure, now they get a dwarven adventure. If the players manage to recruit both races to the cause than it feels like a true alliance of good vs. evil, where all races have put aside their differences to face the Red Horde. It really builds up that final confrontation well!
As far as actual adventures go, make up your own if you’d like, or select something appropriate from the plethora of choices in DnD’s back catalog or from third-party creators on DMs Guild. Some suggestions include:
Anything from a suitable adventure’s league. These adventures are always easy to fit into any campaign. Just find one of the appropriate level that interests you and *bam* you have a two to three hour session ready to go. You can easily change major NPCs to dwarves and the location to match the Wyvernatch.
Glitterdoom, from Goodman Games. It’s a nice little Dwarven mine adventure. You’ll probably have to change out some of the encounters to make it level appropriate, though: it’s too easy at level 3.
Forge of Fury, from Tales of the Yawning Portal, especially if your party is a little bit less leveled than mine. You might still have to bump up some encounters to match the challenge you want, but this is a perfectly themed adventure.
A side quest from Rise of Tiamet. That book is basically made up of side adventures, just grab one that feels good and change the setting and NPCs to dwarves. It’s already dragon-themed and is basically the redux of Red Hand of Doom already. They should already be pretty much level appropriate.
For myself, I chose White Plume Mountain from Tales of the Yawning Portal. I think it is the perfect side quest for this campaign and we will get into why, and some of the changes I’ve made to it, next time.
Other suggestions are welcome, for good side adventures! Just post a reply. I’m always looking for good side adventures.

DC Universal Threats: The 15 Most Powerful Objects In DC Comics
Powers are granted to heroes through many means. Some acquire them though hard work and discipline, some have their powers thrust upon them and others are born with their abilities. There is a constant struggle going on between all meta-humans, be they good or evil, and sometimes extra help is needed to get the upper hand, or even to acquire powers in the first place.
RELATED: Marvel Magic: The 15 Most Arcane Artifacts In The Universe
The DC Comics Universe is littered with objects that can provide that very thing. Some exhaust their users, while others embolden them; some require heavy sacrifices, and many are bestowed to those who are in the right place at the right time. They could come from places that existed before creation itself or could have been created with world domination in mind. No matter their origin or purpose, the items in the DC Universe that can bestow great power are spread far and wide, and we at CBR have compiled the 15 most powerful.
WARWORLD
The Warzoons created Warworld in an effort to conquer the Universe. It first appeared in “DC Comics Presents” #27 in 1980, created by Len Wein and Jim Starlin. Controlled by a mental link, Warworld is covered in missiles and laser cannons capable of destroying entire planets, so it’s fortunate that the Warzoons mysteriously died out before they could utilize their weapon. Rediscovered by the Largas, they could not bring themselves to destroy Warworld, and gifted its keys to the Martians before they died out as well.
History dictated these keys would fall to Mongul, the alien warlord. In the Pre-Crisis continuity, Mongul controlled the deadly planet, but found the mental powers it demanded from him too overwhelming. Its defences were strong, but Superman and Supergirl were able to break through them and destroy it. In the Post-Crisis continuity, Warworld was the seat of Mongul’s galactic empire, and the site of his twisted gladiatorial games. Superman fought the champion Draaga on its surface, and was able to defeat him with ease. Warworld would eventually fall to the hands of Draaga, as well as Brainiac, but no matter its ruler, it remains a deadly threat to all peaceful planets across the Universe.
ROCK OF ETERNITY
The Rock Of Eternity is the traditional home of Shazam The Wizard, and has been around since the Golden Age of comics. It first appeared in 1947’s “The Marvel Family” #7, published by the now defunct Fawcett Comics. The story featured the Marvel family visiting Shazam on the Rock Of Eternity and gaining their powers. The superhero named “Captain Marvel” first appeared here, but Fawcett Comics was forced to give the rights over to DC after a lawsuit, and DC was forced to give up their rights to the name when Marvel claimed it for themselves.
Regardless of all this, the Rock Of Eternity has remained a profoundly powerful place. The Champion created it from two large rock formations, one from Heaven, and one from Hell, and it is the nexus of power that fuels a neighbouring reality. It is the prison for a reptilian demon known as The Three Faces Of Evil, as well as the Seven Deadly Sins. Furthermore, The Rock is the source of all magical power on Earth. The Rock’s guardian is bound to it for life, meaning that poor Shazam can only leave for 24 hours at a time.
H-DIAL
The H-Dial is a powerful magic device first discovered by Robby Reed in a cavern near his hometown of Littleville, Colorado. It resembled an old telephone dial, and when Robby spelled out H-E-R-O on its keys, that very thing he became. Each time he typed in the word he was granted different abilities, and could return to normal by typing the reverse. New forms could be taken by typing other words, such as V-I-L-L-A-I-N, H-E-R-O-I-N-E, or in one unfortunate circumstance, H-O-R-R-O-R.
Eventually, Robby used the H-Dial to split himself in two in order to stop the plot of a villain. His two selves embodied the goodness and evil within him, and could not remember who they truly were. Chris King and Vicky Grant discovered two more H-Dials, but these versions only granted super abilities for one hour at a time. They used them to help Robby combine his halves once more, and he then retired as both a hero and villain for good.
NTH METAL
Nth Metal (or Ninth metal) is a substance found on the planet of Thanagar, and grants unusual abilities to those who come into contact with it. It negates the properties of gravity, allowing a user to fly, protects one from physical extremes and speeds healing. The full extent of its properties are not fully understood, and the supervillain Onimar Synn had complete mastery of the substance, making him akin to a God.
In ancient Egypt, a ship made of Nth metal crash landed and was discovered by Pharaoh Khufu and his wife-to-be, Chay-Ara. Their contact with the mysterious substance sent them into a cycle of reincarnation, with their latest forms being Carter Hall and Shiera Saunders, better known as Hawkman and Hawkgirl. They were gifted Nth Metal belts by Thanagarian Paran Katar, and have continued the Nth Metal legacy on Earth that was started by their ancient selves. With the use of the metal, they have performed numerous heroic deeds and have became indispensable members of the Justice League.
THE BOOK OF THE BLACK
The Black Lantern Corps. is one of the most frightful organizations in the DC Universe. They are the embodiment of Death, and their avatar is Black Hand, who channels the energy of Nekron after he was resurrected by Scar. The Black Lantern Corps. represent the darkness that existed before the white light of existence was born, and their struggle against creation is what caused the white light to split into the emotional spectrum. They predict the coming of The Blackest Night, a great doomsday event that will extinguish all light forever.
The Book Of The Black is a tome that exists in the vaults of planet Oa, and contains within it many forbidden prophecies and untapped magic potential. It was written by the fallen Guardian of the Universe, Scar, and is considered the facilitator of the Blackest Night, for within it are written the names of those who have the power to resist the end of times, and possibly reverse it. The book also predicted that Hal Jordan would be the greatest Black Lantern, which was proven true when he joined the Black Lantern Corps. to escape the Dead Zone, summon Nekron, and defeat the First Lantern, Volthoom.
AMAZO
The great android Amazo has been around for a long time, first appearing in “The Brave And The Bold” #30, created by Gardner Fox and Murphy Anderson in 1960. He was built by the immortality-obsessed Professor Ivo. Amazo has long been a thorn in the side of the Justice League and is one of their deadliest villains, as he has the ability to duplicate their powers. He can take on the strength of Superman, the speed of The Flash and the cunning of Batman, but also takes on their weaknesses. Frightfully, he has the ability to “adapt” around these weaknesses, making his villainous potential virtually limitless.
There have been multiple models of the Amazo Android. Fellow android Hourman once dragged Amazo out of the timestream to study him, but Amazo copied Hourman’s time manipulation abilities and wreaked havoc upon the Universe. Another version of Amazo copied the powers of the Justice League as a whole, but his programming was overwrought when Superman officially disbanded the League. He also had a son named Kid Amazo, who went against his programming to become a hero, an act that slowly drove him insane.
THE COSMIC ROD
The Cosmic Rod is the tool and symbol of Starman, a hero that has taken many forms. The original Starman was Ted Knight, who first created the Gravity Rod, the item that the Cosmic Rod was based upon. The Cosmic Rod is powered by the stars themselves and grants its user a myriad of powers, including gravity and magnetic manipulation, energy projection and absorption, inter-dimensional travel and the ability to control the Rod with one’s mind.
Though the Starman mantle has fallen to many heroes, including Charles McNider and even Bruce Wayne, the most famous wielder of the Cosmic Rod would be Jack Knight. Jack was the son of the legendary Ted Knight, and looked up to his father immensely. Jack’s brother David was the original recipient of the Cosmic Rod, but Jack was forced to assume the role of Starman after the supervillain Mist ordered his children to murder David. The villainy of Mist and his children could not go ignored, and Jack, somewhat reluctantly, swore to defend his city against them. He would eventually bestow the Rod to Stargirl, formerly known as the Star-Spangled Kid, and help her become a key member of The Justice Society.
THE SWORD OF SUPERMAN
The Sword Of Superman was a relic that appeared in the Pre-Crisis storyline “Superman Annual #10: The Day The Cheering Stopped, ” written by Elliot Maggin in 1984. The sword came into existence in the Big Bang, and has Superman’s stylized “S” embedded on its pommel. It has a sentience of its own, and transmitted the “S” symbol to Jonathan Kent’s mind when he was creating Clark’s super suit. The sword is the very reason that Superman’s name is known throughout the Universe, and it seems to have a deep and mysterious connection to him.
When King Kosmos hypnotized everyone on Earth into despising Superman, the sword appeared to him and gave him the power he needed to regain his influence and overthrow the villain. The Sword then attempted to imbue him with all the power of the Universe, which would allow him to become one with its eternal fabric. Superman refused this power as he dramatically began coming apart like shattered glass. Having been denied, the blade of the Sword fell away, leaving only the hilt, which Superman hurled into space to await the one who would earn its nigh unlimited power.
CENTRAL POWER BATTERIES
The emotions that came into being with sentient life conformed into the light spectrum, and this energy manifested itself as seven emotional embodiments. The Central Power Batteries were created to channel these massive energy sources, and each Lantern Corps. has their own battery from which all their power is drawn. The most well known of these batteries in the Green Central Power Battery, located on Oa, which empowers the Green Lanterns.
There are two other central power batteries alongside the seven of the emotional spectrum, those being Black and White. The Black Battery was constructed by Nekron around the remains of the Anti-Monitor after he was obliterated by Superboy-Prime. The White Battery is somewhat more mysterious, as it crashed on Earth during the Blackest Night, when it was needed most. It houses The Entity, the spirit that triggered all life. No matter their origin or followers, the Central Power Batteries are some of the greatest sources of power across the DC Universe, and are pivotal to all members of the various Lantern Corps.
THE SPEAR OF DESTINY
The Spear of Destiny is a dangerous tool in the DC Universe and one that bleeds into the history and mythology of our own world. The Spear was the very same that pierced the side of Jesus Christ during his crucifixion, eventually finding its way to the hands of Adolf Hitler. The Spear turned anyone that got close to Hitler into a servant of Nazism, and thus no superheroes could stop him from creating the Third Reich.
Before the Nazi regime was overthrown by conventional means, Hitler performed a ritual that would fill any holder of the Spear with an unstoppable desire for power. The Spear made its way to American hands and was given to Superman to help stop the Spectre and a raging water elemental, as the Spear was the only thing powerful enough to harm them. The Spear almost corrupted Superman, but he hurled it into space before any real damage could be done. The Spear was retrieved once more when the rogue angel, Asmodel, possessed the Spectre and literally froze over Hell. The Spear Of Destiny is a dangerous weapon to wield, but its dire need often outweighs the risk of carrying it.
MOBIUS CHAIR
The Mobius Chair is a device of the Anti-Monitor, ruler of the anti-matter Universe and instigator of the Crisis on Infinite Earths. He built it in his unending quest for knowledge, and bestowed it upon the Metron before it was taken from the New God by Batman.
The Mobius Chair can teleport through time and space in mere moments, and can travel to other dimensions with ease. It has an inherent life support system that allows users to survive the perils of the cosmos, and a tractor beam that is strong enough to pull an entire planet. Its most useful feature, however, is that it contains all the knowledge of the New Gods, deific beings of the Fourth World, and this allows its user to access knowledge beyond the mortal realm. In “Justice League” #50, Batman did what we thought would never happen, and used the chair to reveal the identity of the Joker. We won’t spoil the truth of that here, but such forbidden knowledge is just a taste of what the Mobius Chair can provide.
MOTHER BOX
The Mother Boxes are near sentient supercomputers used by the Gods of New Genesis and communicate with a familiar “ping!” Jack Kirby created them for his “Fourth World” saga when he left Marvel for DC in 1970. Each Mother Box is so powerful that they seem to have minds of their own, and are directly connected to The Source, the wellspring of life and energy in the DC Universe. They can manipulate gravity, summon Boom Tubes to teleport, heal injuries, sustain a being in space and reconfigure matter. They form deep bonds with those who use them, and have been known to self-destruct when their owner dies.
Many characters across the DC Universe have possessed Mother Boxes. Superman was given one through Mister Miracle when he was tracking Doomsday to Apokalips. The Mother Box healed Darkseid in order to help Superman in his fight, gave him various high-tech weaponry and healed him completely once the battle was finished. Orion carried one that controlled his fury and beast-like appearance, but this Box was taken from him several times. Ted Knight, the original Starman, also had one, and his consciousness was transferred into it before it was destroyed.
THE HELMET OF FATE
Much like the Cosmic Rod, the Helmet of Fate grants the powers of a hero known as Dr. Fate to whoever wields it, and was created by Nabu, the Lord of Order. The first Dr. Fate was Kent Nelson, who discovered Nabu in an ancient temple in Mesopotamia. Nabu granted him the helmet, along with the Amulet of Anubis and The Cloak Of Destiny, giving him all the powers that he possessed. This Dr. Fate helped form the 1940’s Justice League, and married Inza Cramer, with whom he was destined to fight alongside for years.
During the “Infinite Crisis” event, Nabu was destroyed, along with the Helmet’s current owner, Hector Hall. The Helmet travelled through many hands and space itself before being delivered to Kent V. Nelson, great nephew to the original Dr. Fate. He became the Helmet’s primary owner and used it to battle the demon Negal. The Helmet gives its user incredible magical powers, such as flight, spell casting, telekinesis, teleportation and enhanced intellect. Dr. Fate is one of the most powerful sorcerers in the Universe and could be seen as DC’s counterpart to Marvel’s Dr. Strange.
WHITE LANTERN RINGS
The White Lantern Ring is the most powerful tool to harness the emotional spectrum, as it utilizes the combined force of all emotions. The White Ring first appeared in “The Blackest Night” #7 and carried within it the strength of The Entity. This all-consuming power overwrote Hal Jordan’s Green Ring, giving him the strength to defeat Nekron, resurrect his fallen allies, create the White Lantern Corps. and put an end to the Blackest Night.
The White Lantern Ring had several owners after this event. Deadman came to possess it, and became a servant of the Entity. Many heroes were killed and resurrected by the White Ring, and it pulled many unexpected strings in order to prevent the rising of the Dark Avatar. In the New 52 reboot, Kyle Rayner gained a White Lantern Ring that was free from the influence of The Entity when he mastered all seven powers of the emotional spectrum. He then absorbed the Life Equation and became so powerful he feared he could not keep himself under control. This crisis was solved when the ring was split into seven pieces, with the ability of being re-combined in times of great need.
THE MIRACLE MACHINE
The Miracle Machine is the most powerful, unpredictable, and unstable item in the DC Universe. Its dangers lie in the volatility of the human mind, as it has the ability to turn any person’s thoughts into reality. An insane Brainiac 5 attempted to use the machine to destroy the Universe, but could not imagine a properly magnificent death. He conceived of Omega, a being who could, and the machine was eaten by Matter-Eater Lad in order to stop this plot. The consumption drove him mad, and once the machine was removed from his body, he was essentially granted the power of invulnerability. Superman has also used the machine, once to create a duplicate of himself, and once to defeat the terrifying onslaught of Darkseid.
Even a fleeting thought will become true if one is near the Miracle Machine and it has the ability to create and destroy entire worlds. It was built by the Controllers after reverse-engineering the willpower technology of the Guardians of the Universe and can only be properly used by someone with complete control of their mind. It is currently locked deep in the Legion of Superheroes’ vault to prevent any misuse. Thank goodness for that!

Eric is known for being uncompromisingly honest. He is the ultimate devil’s advocate. He enjoys the mental sparring and the fun of bringing worlds down around him. Eric is quick witted, knowledgeable and keeps his fellow warlocks and witches on their toes. Eric has never been a particularly functional or benevolent man, though he has frequently made efforts to better himself. He is obsessed, nearly desperate, for success. He’s willing to steal and lie in order to get the knowledge he desperately craves and to get further in the supernatural world. Despite excelling in transmutation and becoming a successful mentor, Eric finds himself feeling stagnant.
Eric is insightful, strong-willed, tough and if he sets his mind to it, erudite. Unfortunately he is also a tad psychotic. Giving his outward personality, it’s unknown to many people that Eric possesses a great deal of intense rage because of the various traumatic and humiliating experiences he has endured over the course of his life. Although, that rage and anger is rarely directed towards those in his inner circle. He is also possessive of those in his inner circle, willing to violently lash out and sometimes going as far as killing those he perceived as threatening to his friends and family.

Sam (Step-Father): Sam was a graying old man when Eric’s mother was given to him by their village for having a child out of wedlock. He doesn’t remember anything about Sam besides his name.

Unknown Amount of Step-Siblings (Sam’s Daughters and Sons): His step siblings varied from infants to adults by time Eric was given away. He doesn’t remember any of their names or faces.
Children Names:
Unnamed (Daughter): Stillborn. Eric was 16 years old when he lost his first daughter.
Shella Lurena Lasiter (Daughter): Shella was born prematurely and died 8 days later. Eric did not have full control of his powers then at the age of 17 and did not yet know of the Supernatural community to save her life.
Romantic Connections:
Eve Lasiter (Dead Wife): He doesn’t have many clear memories of his wife, outside of her death, though he believes he loved her.
Kaylor Cleirigh (Interest): Kaylor is one of the few female warlocks that is around his age. Eric thinks that she’s beautiful, smart, funny, powerful and way above his league. Sadly, she is married and Eric would never stand between her relationship.
Platonic Connections:
Ronan Cleirigh (Former Mentor): Ronan was Eric’s mentor for nearly six hundred years. Ronan brought him six mentees and asked him to choose one; officially signalling the end of his training nearly three hundred years ago. Eric has stuck close to his mentor and regards him as a good friend.
Ashley Malone (Mentee): Ashley is his newest and youngest mentee. He fought to have her, in order to test the abilities of a creator and animator together. Ashley loves to tutor him in his studies as the person most recently in school.
Belle Cunningham (Mentee): Eric has been watching over and mentoring Belle since she was in her early teens. Their powers are similar enough that training Belle is second nature to him. They have a close personal relationship too.
Chai Gates (Mentee): Chai parents sought him out and asked him to train their daughter. He refused at first but changed his mind once he and Chai sat down and talked about what she wanted out of her powers and life.
Audo Wilhelm (Co-Workers): They both work for Ronan Cleirigh at the warehouse. They’re friendly and hold pleasant conversations together. They’ve recently started hanging out outside of the workplace together.
Catherine Barr (Private Employer): Cat has employed Eric to transmute a secret house for her. She teleports him to an anonymous location, he works for an agreed amount of hours and then she brings him back. Eric sympathizes with her over the loss of her daughter and she pays him well, so her secret is safe with him.
Skylar Beckham (Possible Family): Skylar was found by Audo Wilhelm. She had no idea she was a witch. Eric is thrilled at the possibility that someone else out there shares his mark but he is unsure if Skylar is his daughter or niece.
Minsky Edison (Best Friend): It’s hard for Eric to make and keep friends but Minsky has always been there for him. Minsky is one of the few people he would trust with his life and would have trust with the life of his daughters.
Brighton Genesis (Best Friend): Bee and Eric have been friends for the same amount of time that he has been friends with Ronan since his former mentor made their introductions. Bee knows his attraction to Kaylor, his wife, and is constantly offering to make a polyamorous relationship together.
Hostile Connections:
Garrett Cleirigh (Indifferent/Distant): Eric and Garrett are always bumping heads. They would probably be best friends if they weren’t so much alike.
Imani Anderson (Conflicted): Eric and Imani worked together on many occission until one day all communication stopped. Weeks later an important shipment of Erics’ went missing. He refuses to believe it was a set up but all clues point to the Andersons family.
Sarah Harris (Hostile): Sarah is a thorn in his side. He confessed once that her daughter, Zelda, eyes reminded him of one of his daughters and Sarah lost her cool. She has been purposely making his life hell since. Out of respect to Zack, Zelda, and Ellis, he has yet to retaliate. Key word being yet.
Pets:
Fern: Fern is Eric’s third fern plant this year. He was tempted to take Flower as a mentee in order to keep Fern alive but was denied the request.
Aloe: Aloe is Eric’s two year old aloe plant. She still is alive and well, thank you.
