No clue if your still taking asks for Aegon III and Jaehaera but what about one where they were secretly courting (Aegon giving Jaehaera gifts like jewels, books she likes and maybe telling her a few stories or singing songs?) they do a similar thing to Daemon and Rhaenyra in the brothel (maybe they’re in a tavern or something?). Maybe Aegon II or Daemon catch them, regardless of how they are caught both are confront and Aegon III ends up asking Aegon II for Jaehaera’s hand in marriage then and there?

Maybe Aegon II’s like: “You ruined my daughter who else will wed her now?”

Meanwhile Aegon III: “Wed her to me. I’ll take her as she is”

Maybe it causes and uproar with the Blacks and Greens both protesting against it while Alicent, Daemon and Rhaenyra hear this conversation and are like “oh no…” cause this has happened before and the chances of it happening again are so unlikely. And maybe they’re confronted like when Aemond lost his eye and everyone yells at each other?

(Also it would be funny if both the Greens and the Blacks were to absorbed in their bickering they didn’t even notice Jaehaera and Aegon III’s feelings for each other? And it isn’t until this happened that they realize how deep this runs and maybe they all overreact to this?)

Although sobered by now, Aegon still feels as if the world moves too fast to comprehend. His uncle releases a dismissive sight. It is only when his father steps forward, clutching Dark Sister’s grip, that anything changes. Prince Aemond stands tall with his brother, and Ser Criston Cole goes to charge against his father, but before any fight can take place, Aegon the Elder throws him to the floor.

He hears Jaehaera squeaking, held aside by her mother and twin brother. The peasant garb she had worn to the city hasn’t dimmed her beauty even a smidge. Her usually pin-straight hair is a mess, and his only comfort at this moment is remembering how his fingers felt running through it. Her lips are still flushed and bruised from kisses, vibrant red because of him, for him.

Before Aegon could even comprehend the confession, Aegon the Elder comes forward once more, swinging his leg and kicking him straight in the face. “You fucking rat!”

“Father!” Jaehaera lets out a wail. While Aegon groans in pain, head slammed against the floor once more, it seems as if an all out war is brewing in the room. Kingsguards rush to the middle of the room, while his brothers are ready to jump his uncles. Even Jaehaerys comes to push Joffrey away from reaching his father.

Aegon the Elder, as his mother and father introduced him, had been a sullen slob with only hatred within his very core. But his Uncle stands over him and looks at him with fire that implies anything but hatred, at least when it comes to his daughter.

“More than a year... You think my daughter is a common whore for you to flaunt and kiss at taverns? You think she’s a plaything for you to call upon whenever?” he hisses at him. “You ruined her. You have been ruining her! Your mother may have never taught you consequences, but they exist, in this world. Who would wed her now?”

There are many answers to that question. Normally, in their family, it would be one of her brothers, but Jaehaera has noted she and her close family all dislike that idea. Lords that see an opportunity, perhaps; Jaehaera is the only granddaughter of the King, with a dragon to boot. The atmosphere shifts in the room. Jaehaera is frozen in place, teary eyes begging. His brothers and mother all turn to gasping stones, but it is his father that has his eyes completely changed. He moves away from Ser Criston Cole, staring at him.

“You will have her?” Aegon the Elder nearly spits out. “Little prick. You will have her when I fade to ash.”

“That is it,” Queen Alicent then says, pushing her son away from him. “Prince Aegon will meet a maester before we all turn to speak mindlessly. I must see Jaehaera to her own maester as well.” The woman sighs.

To check if I took her, is implicit in her words. I should have. Should have wedded and bedded her before any of them could take her away. Jaehaera’s mother and brother take her away, while Prince Aemond and Ser Criston Cole both convince his uncle to step away from him.

“After we know…” Queen Alicent grimaces. “We will speak of this more, Princess Rhaenyra.”

“We shall,” his mother says. “Do trust this will not be forgotten, Queen Alicent.”

Aegon is helped onto his legs by his brothers. Talk of concussions, responsibilities, and temporary madness all come his way from all fronts as they walk the Red Keep’s hallways. At the end, it is his father that takes him to the maester’s door. His father keeps a stern face. Aegon knows his father does not like that side of this family, he knows he hates them more than anything. However, he keeps his pride about him.

“I don’t regret it,” Aegon says when they are by the guest room assigned to him. “She is meant to be mine. I will ask it again.”

“You will not,” Daemon answers him, cutthroat. His father’s hand reaches to squeeze on his upper arm, hard.

Aegon gulps. There is something sinister about his father’s gaze.

“Ask, that is. You said all that needed to be said, and I know it will be true,” Daemon tells him. “You will have her. One way… or the other.”

His father turns on his heel, and leaves him be. Jaehaera is there at the back of his mind, sweet lips and violet eyes, with her beauty marks and her gentle voice comparing to the calm of moonlight, but the bride price may be costlier than just the blood dripping down his face.

he made it through the wilderness -- somehow he made it through -- how he had made it through with barely a scratch to his collar and an ache to his shoulder was still quite questionable. his brothers had often joked about him being superman but he really hadn’t thought it’d be so literally when it was tested against mother nature as so. but the second he feels the cool effects of the antimicrobial ointment hit one of his scratches at his cheek does he hiss, okay -- maybe not so made of steel.

HSHQTASK#028: SON HAERA’S STAFF.

haera’s staff have either been with her for a long time or are new hires. the turnover rate for certain positions is incredibly high since she’s difficult to work with. there’s even a facebook support group for people who feel like they’ve been wronged or victimized by son haera. they can talk about her horrible personality and how badly she treats people, but they will never be able to say anything about the pay. she always provides a fat paycheque. it is why former staff who have quit on her want to come back since no one has paid them nearly as much as she does.

min eunkyung — chief of staff: haera's cousin on her dad's side, so not the rich side. she's the only one that can handle haera and the only person haera will sort of listen to. gets into a lot of disagreements with haera and although she’d never admit it, she’d crumble without eunkyung.

hwang seohyun — publicist: been working for haera for a year. they usually quit during this time period so we'll see if she lasts or not. didn’t go to post secondary, haera hired her to give eunkyung a hard time. she has an eye rolling problem and talks back to eunkyung at times. doesn’t find most things haera says or does to be a pr problem. reminds haera of herself and it’s why she likes her.

song rian — personal assistant: was originally an intern, likes the perks of being around rich people too much so she’s done the whole fake it until you make it thing and it’s been quite successful for her. she’s annoying and a suck up, but she gets the job done and she’s surprisingly trustworthy ( for now ).

choi hyesoo — lawyer : does her job very well. originally worked for haera’s parents. she was married to haera’s security and that’s how she was introduced to the family. after their divorce, haera’s parents fired her since they have a deeper relationship with her ex-husband. haera used the opportunity to hire her as her own personal lawyer.

kim hyunseok — accountant : her shared accountant with younghoon. he's involved in some shady tax evasion and embezzlement shit, but he's managed to keep it hidden. too social and loud, doesn’t have a filter. knows everything about everyone for some reason. love blackmailing people. haera doesn’t ever deal with him directly ( thank god ).

chan seokwoo — security/bodyguard : has worked with haera’s family for years. eventually haera onboarded him to her own personal team after moving with the program. although him and his ex-wife both work for her, they hardly ever see each other or meet since hyesoo is back in seoul.

shin bitna — stylist : attended the same university as haera. daughter of a well regarded judge. she didn't want to do academics, she wanted to go to school for fashion. haera liked her energy because she was always on the brink of a breakdown and had the worst temper. they would get into fights, but she knows haera’s style best. whether she got support from her parents or not didn’t matter since styling haera came with amazing pay and access to higher society. been in an on and off relationship with ryuwon, the hairstylist.

jang ryuwon — hair stylist : haera was beefing with korean model irene kim, and rather than exchanging words through interviews and social media, haera poached her hair stylist that’s been working with her for years. haera offered ryuwon better pay and ryuwon took the opportunity since working for a duchess will look amazing on her resume and portfolio. bitna and ryuwon have been dating for two years. they have a toxic on and off relationship which carries over toward their work most of the time. haera finds it funny and entertaining.

oh sora — makeup artist : her previous makeup artist used the earthquake in argentina as an excuse to not work for haera anymore. the new makeup artist talks too much but she’s much faster and efficient with time. jinny likes her. she recently asked haera if she would invest and/or support the makeup line she’s releasing, heara said no. might get fired. we’ll see.

mo mikyeong — housekeeper : she was originally hired to be jinny’s nanny before haera gave birth. she helped haera a lot throughout her pregnancy, it felt wasteful to have her only solely care for her daughter. a month before jinny’s birth, haera decides to keep her around as a housekeeper and her unofficial therapist. complains to her the most about anything and everything and she listens with a fond motherly smile. haera pays her a lot more money than the previous housekeepers because she’s the only one she doesn’t want ever quitting on her.

jeon seulgi — personal chef : after a night of partying, haera brought people over to her place. seulgi was one of them. she said she was a chef and haera asked her to make something. it was all a part of seulgi’s plan to climb the social ladder to get a solid good paying job. and it worked. haera could respect the hustle when it wasn’t done in such a cringe way and if you actually have the talent. she was originally a sous chef, but now she’s been promoted to haera’s personal chef since joining the program.

noh jaehyun — driver : a recent hire. the makeup artist, sora and jinny’s current nanny, eujin both have a big fat crush on him but he likes seulgi, the chef. haera is considering to fire him before it gets too messy but she wants to see the drama unfold.

bong dowoon — jinny’s bodyguard : he's worked for younghoon’s family for years. minsoo is the only person younghoon trusts with jinny. he spends most of his time with jinny and she likes being around him. he actually participates in activities and organizes fun days for jinny unlike haera.

kim euijin — nanny : she’s been working for haera for three months. the other nanny quit after jinny bit her. jinny has been sort of getting along with her. only time will tell, jinny tends to bite and throw things at people unprovoked at times.

cheon jihyun — intern : the intern mainly works for the personal assistant. more of a trial and probationary period to see if she lasts. usually they’re let go, but the odd time they’ll be promoted.

min eunmi — jinny’s piano teacher : eunkyung’s older sister who is a classical musician. can’t teach jinny in person most of the time, only whenever she happens to be in tokyo for business. haera has tried hiring other piano teachers in tokyo, but jinny wants to be taught by her only. most lessons have been through facetime. who knows if they’ve been effective. eunmi doesn’t mine either way.

song nayeon — jinny’s art teacher : one of the previous interns and former art student. instead of becoming an assistant or nanny, she was promoted to be jinny’s art teacher while also making art for haera and younghoon as she saves enough money to go to school in america for her masters. she has a crush on younghoon because he’s nice to her. haera doesn’t pay any mind to it. she knows nayeon won’t try anything.

yoon haneul — jinny’s ballet instructor : one of yihwa’s friends. jinny wanted to take up ballet and she had been living in tokyo for the past two years. it worked out. made jinny cry once and she was scared haera would yell at her. to her relief, haera didn’t care.

she can recognise his laughter in a room full of strangers – doesn’t matter if she’s drunk or sober, if the music’s loud enough to destroy her eardrums or the room’s still and silent, if it’s seven years ago or six months in the future. nam dohyun is here.

this feels like a reused set on a shitty remake of some cheesy teen drama. the same rehearsal room, the same ‘don’t you wish you had me’ smile he has on his face, the same song they’d once sang in that noraebang where they’d shared a kiss under the cheap glittery disco ball. it makes haera nauseous, and she feels the bile rise in her throat. she wonders whose nightmare is she living in – dohyun’s, because he’d spent so much effort and years into devising routes that circumvented running into her yet here they are again, or hers, because just a few days ago, she’d spilled and splattered her heart to him with the thought that they’d never see each other ever again.

must be her form of karmic retribution, she concludes, to have run into her ex-something repeatedly over the course of the last few days. when she spots the person who’d drawn up this asinine plan, she immediately pulls him aside. shin junseo, some guy she’d been in a band with once. he’d let her take more bass solos than she really deserved, let her go with neither second word nor a pleading glance like the rest of them, told her that she’d be a bigger star than she could ever imagine. she’d always promised that she’d repay his benevolence back one day, but she’d never thought that she’d keep the same phone number long enough for him to actually use it.

“hey,” she hisses, her voice muffled, trying to keep it as subtle as one can. desperation perfumes the tone of her voice and the perplexed look on junseo’s face tells her that he can hear it too – it’s not everyday min haera gives off an inkling of apprehension. “why is the lead singer from ctrl here? i thought you only needed a bassist ‘cause he got hospitalised for alcohol poisoning?” (she tries to avoid saying his name, given recent events. it leaves a bitter taste in her mouth – an ineradicable one that doesn’t seem to get washed away, even with alcohol.)

he gives her some shitty excuse, but the words drown in one ear and leave the other – but the message is clear: it’s just for this one show, what’s the big deal. “i heard,” she says, raising her voice just loud enough so that she knows, for a fact, that he’ll catch it. “that he’s kind of an asshole. you sure it’s worth it?”

not like she isn’t one either, but no one has ever said that you need clean hands to play a dirty game.

she was sure the member’s knew that this had to be her favorite track of theirs. not because of the music but the lyrics, they just spoke to her. which meant she was super hyped for the music video filming. when they got to the set and got changed, rina was one of the first too get changed and head out to the set so the staff could focus on the other girls. once more came out, rina walked over to haera.

“hey! it looks like the scale of the music video is bigger than before.” she knew fans weren’t happy with more of their recent music videos. they loved fancy as a song but there had been complaints of the music video. “it looks like they went all out this time right?” either way, she was ready for it. “i’m excited.” for once.

MECHANICS!

here are the groups for save the citizen. after plotting with your group, you can go about this event any way you want; you can plan the fight and write solos where the same things happen from different points of view, or you can write a thread/threads the ol’ fashioned way. though everyone’s name is listed here, you are not required to write for this event, but at the very least, plot with your groupmates! in the event that someone in your group is inactive or unresponsive to plotting, you are free to proceed without them and headcanon their actions after 48 hours of waiting for a response.

HOW IT WORKS! the match’s heroes and villains are announced through the speaker, their faces appearing on the screen. the players, wearing sleek black long-sleeved uniform jumpsuits that are designed to act like armor, are escorted into the arena, then the doors are closed. minute one: the game starts. the referee, a professor or staff member sitting on an elevated platform on one side of the field, blows the whistle and the mannequin chants “save me! save me!” heroes and villains are free to start going about the match any way they want. they can use their powers however they want. (of course, the referee will issue warnings or stop the match if things escalate too much.) minute two: the mannequin drops two feet closer to the incinerator and chants “save me! save me!” minute three: the mannequin drops two feet closer to the incinerator and chants “save me! save me!” the game ends when the heroes save the citizen at any point in the game, or when the citizen is incinerated after minute three. it is also possible for the game to end if the judge stops it on account of someone being seriously injured. a whistle is blown to signal the end of the game. the referee announces whether heroes or villains won. the players are escorted out, then the field is prepared for the next match.

WHO WINS? either the group or the main blog can determine the winner of the match. if you want to decide among yourselves, reply to this post with your group and your selected winner (ex. GROUP B, HEROES WIN). if you want the main blog to decide for you, reply to this post with your group and ‘undecided’ (ex. GROUP A, UNDECIDED). if you choose to do this, the main will contact a member of your group and tell them who wins so you can plot accordingly. ONLY ONE MEMBER PER GROUP SHOULD COMMENT!

Haeras, the one with the glasses, is part of the Heiress's task force. Though he doesn't necessarily agree with or even like what the Empire is doing, he convinces himself that it's his empire, right or wrong. He's a workaholic, who often willingly brings home extra paperwork and has to be talked out of work by his matesprit. Nikolo, meanwhile, hates the empire- though he does so in secret. He spends most of his time while his Matesprit is off at work causing trouble somewhere, hijacking radio broadcasts to play his favorite songs, spying on people or doing parkour (yes, in heels). He enjoys his freedom, and has no loyalty to anyone... except, of course, his matesprit. Haeras likes mulling over his card games, and gets lost in strategy and planning. Nikolo frequents clubs and gets lost in blaring music and dancing. Haeras is socially awkward and can seem a bit domineering, but he's a well intentioned man who really does want what's for the best for everyone, and tries to be civil, even to people he loathes. Nikolo exudes charisma and is quite alluring, but delights in taunting and getting a rise out of others- no reason, he just finds it funny. Haeras works hard so he and his matesprit can live a comfortable life together (They've moved in together two and a half sweeps ago) Nikolo, for all his lack of discipline, will always come home before Haeras to make sure his dumb workaholic husband Matesprit comes home to a clean hive and nice dinner. -- Re-purposed some old ocs into new ones- I'm way too fond of these two to let them go.

Hiya! I hope this isn't an obvious question or that I've overlooked this question already answered. How do you find the proper kanji to use for the Japanese names on these templates? I know there's the English version but if love to use the kanji. I'm just kind of clueless here.

No problem at all, I love this question! The answer is honestly unique to everyone, it depends on what your character’s name actually is!

I’m going to separate my answer into three sections since I don’t know what kind of name you’re going for. I’m also including non-Japanese names for those who might be interested in a few tips and tricks.

Using Non-Japanese Names in the Templates

If you have a fully non-Japanese name, your template can do something creative with the name section. For example, you could separate the first and last names like in this example (submitted by anon):

You can of course separate it differently in this example too (like, “Fenton” in grey rather than “Danny”). Or you can put a title or something instead of a name, or an organization/group/school name or something. I made an example using the villain generator (and I used a KH character because they were the first thing I thought of that had titles):

Non-Japanese Names Written with Japanese Characters

If you still want to use Japanese characters (kana) for English names, there are ways to sound it out in Japanese, so to speak. When you want to spell a name in Japanese, do it phonetically and not by how it’s literally spelled, and you should write it in katakana because it’s a foreign name (katakana is generally used for foreign words and names!). In the example below (submitted by @major-dongliz), “Oskar” (or Oscar for this matter) is spelled “オスカー” which is romanized as “Osukaa”.

If you don’t know how Japanese syllables work, it’s basically like English consonant sounds are kinda smushed together with another vowel sound that drops off (it’s mostly a “silent u” kinda thing, but sometimes they use the other vowels too depending on where it is in the word), and longer sounds are extended vowels (commonly, “er” sounds become “aa” sounds in Japanese, and in katakana “aa” is written with a dash like “aー”… which isn’t how it works in hiragana, but hey I don’t make the rules), and there are some other linguistic tricks too (the “th” sound becomes “s” or “z” in Japanese, and “wi/wu/we” typically becomes “ui/u/ue”, “vi” typically becomes “bi”, and a few others I can’t think of off the top of my head).

For another example (seen above), the kana name for “Haera Song” (submitted by @fullmemetalalchemist) is written as “ソン・ヘラ”, which is romanized as “Son Hera”. You can see that not only was the name format changed from western (First Name, Last Name) to eastern/native/Japanese format (Last Name, First Name), but the spelling isn’t literal either (which would have made it “ソング・ハエラ” or something, which isn’t how the name is pronounced at all). Changing the name format is optional however (Japanese people do respect the way Americans/others say their names, so a non-Japanese name like “Haera Song” in kana should still be “Haera Song” when referenced by other Japanese people–but, again, it’s optional and preference for your personal UA templates).

Japanese Names Written with Japanese Characters

For real-people surnames, normally they’ll mean something like “base of the mountain” (Yamamoto/山本, which is a common Japanese surname) because way back in ancient times they decided surnames were based on where people were from/born/raised or something. For first/given names, typically the names will be meaningful somehow because normally that’s how people choose names for their kids. Asian families tend to name their kids something like “beautiful child” (Kimiko/貴美子) or “great wisdom” (Daichi/大智) because they hope their kid will end up wealthy/famous/healthy/smart/etc. (You can look up some common Japanese names and their kanji spellings on “behindthename” or google it!)

Some given names might not even have kanji in them and simply use hiragana or katakana, or a mix of kanji and hiragana (very rarely though), but it really depends on preference; and when paired with a surname, the surname is always in kanji. For example, the name “Riku” can be spelled with the “陸” kanji or the hiragana “りく” or katakana “リク” (it depends on preference–the creators of Kingdom hearts use the katakana for Riku, most likely because KH characters are meant to look/be “foreign” compared to native Japanese people).

But since there are SO many ways to read kanji and so many kanji that can be read in similar ways, you can get two or more kanji spellings for the same name which will give it different meaning (see: Kimiko/君子 meaning “noble child” and Daichi/大地 meaning “great land/earth”). You can also get one Kanji spelling for multiple names (for example, “陸” can be “Riku”, “Takashi”, “Atsushi” or “Noboru”; “明光” can be “Akari”, “Akemi”, or “Meikou”; and “春” can be “Haru”, “Azuma”, “Kazu”, “Toki”, or “Hajime”).

That said, the different kanji readings also gives way for some REALLY GREAT puns, which is what some of the character names in MHA pretty much DEPENDS on. This kind of thing doesn’t really happen in real life, but we’ve got a Theme Naming trope going on in MHA which lends really well to explaining just who the characters are and what they can do, and just having super fun punny names in general. The very best example of this is Tetsutestu Testutestu, whose name is spelled “鉄哲徹鐵” (literally in order, these kanji mean “iron wisdom, strike iron”–yes, his name is basically Moon Moon for “iron”).

You asked how to find “proper” kanji for names, but there isn’t really a way to decide other than what you want the name to mean or where it comes from. If you don’t have a name for your character, you can totally have fun looking up kanji and trying to make a cool/fun name from the meaning you want. (I’ll actually make a second post for that later since this one is getting long, but it’ll be in the queue so I’ll link back later when I do make it. EDIT: Here it is!!)

If you already have a name for your character that you like though, there are a few ways to look up kanji to fit it. The easiest might be to go on jisho.org (not linked because tumblr is bad at this, but you can google or type in that url there and check it out) and type your character’s name in the search bar followed by the “#names” filter (see green box below). This will give you a dictionary of all the different kanji spellings for that name (if it exists and isn’t one of those nonsense-y mishmash of cool sounds, anyway), and from there you can copy the kanji (see red boxes below) back into the search bar and figure out which name variant has the kanjis with the meanings you want them to have (see pink box way below).

You don’t have to make it super punny like Testutestu’s name, of course. Some of the names depends on a different kind of pun than just simply a kanji/spelling pun–for example, “Ashido” means “reed door” but it was chosen because it sounds like the English word “Acid”, which is what Mina Ashido’s quirk is. So don’t be afraid to just pick a name that looks nice if you already got one chosen but just don’t know how to “spell” it.
