one of my favorite things about hypmic is how integral hair colors are to the character design. their hair colors all mean something and they’re so deliberate.

yamada brothers all have black hair to match their normal ass names and remind you that they are, really, just normal kids.

samatoki and nemu have white hair to contrast them. i could talk forever about how samatoki and nemu are designed to directly contrast ichiro but that’s for another time. jyuto is the Normal One, hence the normal brown hair. rio is ginger just to remind you that he’s white lmao.

all the members of matenrou have dual-colored hair to match their dual personalities, with a more normal color of hair layered over the more absurd one. this is important, because their more socially acceptable personality is what they are more like most of the time. (they are autistic) people perceive them as completely normal functioning adults before finding out that they are, in fact, not at all normal.

ramuda is pink because of his chuoku affiliation BUT! there’s more! his hair is dual-colored, but fades to purple rather than having a hard switch from pink to purple. much like i said about matenrou, the dual hair color is indicative of a dual personality. ramuda’s dual personality is different from matenrou, however, because the distinction between his cute persona and his darker persona as his real self kind of doesn’t exist. instead of drunk jakurai, host hifumi, or angry doppo, which are all not the true personalities of the matenrou members, dark ramuda and cute ramuda are equally the real ramuda. gentaro has brown hair so not to clash with his clothing, but also to emphasize that he’s supposed to be more of a narrator-type character, to fade into the background and let the story unfold, to finish his brother’s work and then vanish as though he were never there. dice’s hair is blue to oppose chuoku’s pink and his mother, while still being a link to her, and to contrast ramuda.

kuko’s hair is red, and i like to believe that it’s supposed to be like fire, connecting him to his sun motif but also to ichiro, who is often associated with fire. i sound ridiculous, but let’s keep going. bringing back the dual-colored hair i talked about before, jyushi’s odd hair color is outside, completely opposite from matenrou. jyushi’s chuunibyou personality only appears around people he doesn’t know, or doesn’t feel comfortable around (like a mask. autism), so naturally his hair’s eccentric accents are outside, rather than inside. hitoya is yet another case of the Normal Guy, but this time i want to say it’s because of jakurai. hitoya’s hair color is so incredibly common and average, two words i believe hitoya hates. you know who has a unique hair color? jakurai. hitoya is average, jakurai is not. sorry i get more insane the further down the post goes.

sasara is like ramuda, and i hate to break it to you, but we don’t actually know sasara that well. he’s definitely a many-layered character, and the fact that he will hide what he’s thinking and put on the mask of a silly guy makes me believe that his hair going from dark to light is deliberate. rosho is yet another dual-colored hair case, but he’s special because he’s only got a few streaks of lighter purple. these few streaks sort of symbolize how he gets when he’s mad, or maybe even how he’s a completely different person speaking to a crowd versus speaking to an individual. there’s nothing i can say about rei that i didn’t cover with the buster bros.

° You had waited a lot of time for this little opportunity to invite him to dinner in your department, but being a coward you disguised him as a small party in which you also invited Hifumi and Doppo with the hope that understanding what you were trying to retire early. Two years have passed since you work with him as a nurse and gradually this feeling of companionship became love.

° As the night progressed you left the idea of spending more time with him in private, concentrating on at least enjoying the evening with everyone. Hifumi had a couple of dishes as well and as a gift gave you one of the best -selling drinks of his host club, sweet and alcoholic equally, of which he spoke very often.

° In part you felt grateful that he accepted even before knowing that his friends would also go. That gave you a little hope that perhaps, a distant future corresponded to your feelings and your fantasies of being his partner would cease to be.

° Hifumi's laughs were spreading everyone and although there was a background movie, nobody was really watching her. Each telling his rarest anecdotes of the week, even Jakurai participated in that unusually animated. You did not pay much attention to what he said, your mind was focused on how his lips moved while talking, something that he surely noticed.

° You were absorbed in their gestures, following every small detail. Barely testing bite of everything you prepared, see him feed is more than enough for you. When you broadcast a high sigh, I ask if you are fine since I notice how little you ate. You lie quickly saying that you ate during the cooking of the dishes and you are already full. His eyes interrogate you for longer and you feel like a slight blush dye your cheeks. It does not believe you completely, but accept what you say.

° Near midnight Doppo began to worry because the next day he had to go to work and was getting late, giving him the reason Hifumi also thought it was time to retire. Collecting the dishes of the table, your hands intersect with those of the doctor who removes them for you and takes them to the kitchen.

° Despite announcing that they should leave, they were so lively that they kept talking until the departure was inevitable. Guiding them to your door, you greet the three, assuming that Jakurai would also leave. But it was not so, he stayed by your side when they two left, closing the door for you and heading to the kitchen continued to clean.

° "You don't have to do that, I thought you were leaving, you don't have a job tomorrow?" You say something confused while you help it to clean it too. "Ah, but I have no job tomorrow, let me do this yes?" He slightly incline him head smiling, convincing you instantly.

° Your mind is stunned because unexpectedly you had managed to be alone with him in your apartment, not in the way you expected but that was not a problem. The problem is how silent everything was in contrast to a few moments ago.

° What are you supposed to do now? The tranquility is suffocating you no longer looking at it and without realizing they end up faster than expected. In a desperate attempt to spend more time with him you remember the drink that Hifumi leaves and you offer it in thanks.

° Do you leave a cup for each one and serve the drinks "actually ... I was thinking you were a bit distracted ... something happened?" Sitting gracefully in front of you now if you are totally exposed, you knew that you had small slips, but there was no way you were so obvious. "I talk about work too, it is not that you had mistakes or something alone ..." Leave the phrase in half and he take the first sip, abruptly swallow all the drink at once.

° You had never seen him take, so you didn't know that he enjoyed alcohol so much using another cup and swallowing it in the same way as before you are absolutely surprised. Suddenly his head falls on the table, but lifts it quickly.

° You hadn't even sat when he stands and shouts raising his fist in the air laughing "ahhhhh ~~ this is very good! The party must continue and it is better if we are alone"

° With a hidden face for his hair, he approaches you invading your personal space, he has a speed that is not typical of him, taking carefully, you take a step back to get away, but you can't go back behind from you is the kitchen's countertop with which you are trapped.

° The proximity is such that their purple strands obscure the light around you as a curtain. You look up to his face looking for his eyes and an explanation but he is so close that you can feel his breathing, you try to push him by putting pressure on his torso but he holds your hand firmly with both hands of his hands.

° "I need you to try this, Hifumi was not wrong is the best!" Without releasing your hand he reached the drink and wait for you to drink "that's!" Drawing with him serves another drink and takes the same cup that you had used, keep driving you a couple more times until you tell him that you cannot anymore.

° "No, no, you must continue drinking for cheating on me! I thought we were alone and it was not so" acting on a way again pushed you against the countertop. "It was the perfect opportunity to confess to me, I was sure that it would be today for that I asked tomorrow free" his arms close everything possible and invade your space again, but you still process what he said before.

° "were you going to confess?" Your eyes light up by leaving aside the situation. "What if I was going? Forget about that" stretching on you, intimidating you with your figure and bringing his face closer to the point where you can smell his breath low his voice to a more serious than normal. "S/O, I like you for a year but I didn't want to hurry things, every opportunity I had always interrupted" there is a blush on their cheeks but you don't know if it's for alcohol or his words

° "I am in love with you, this heart only be beating in this way from the moment he found out someone there could whom he could love" pressing your hand against his chest could confirm how agitated he was and how incredibly fast . "S/O, I adore every centimeter of you. S/o do you love me?" Your knees yield for the tone of your voice, closeness and sincerity.

° Timidly nods "I love you too Jakurai .." Then he kisses you, a little more aggressive than you would like but you cannot complain, slowly becomes softer until you separate in search of oxygen.

° "Now allow you to give you a real kiss that I have been holding on and let me keep drinking" I feel you on the table and kiss your crotch dressed keeping visual contact. You close your thighs for surprise and its unexpected strength. Damn that you liked more than it should.

oh, he definitely acts super duper excited and stoked, probably shamelessly teases you as well

i mean, ramuda of course knows the date (besides that it was his birthday as well). it’s valentine’s day! there’s only one thing your chocolates could mean, even if they were only obligatory

as much as a front he puts up, which does include him teasing you about the chocolates, i’m sure ramuda would be touched. it’s a sweet gesture, especially to someone like him, who isn’t even human in the first place

his heart beats irregularly at the thought: a malfunction. they’re palpitations, and ramuda isn’t entirely fond of it and how strange they feel. but still, he doesn’t completely hate them. they’re…nice, to an extent

and he loves loves loves sweets, so the chocolates are obviously to his taste. they’re sweet and melty, just the way he liked them

you may not know it, but the chocolates are definitely something ramuda holds dear. he doesn’t feel entirely purposeless, i suppose

gentaro

he’s a mess inside, for sure

externally, this man puts up an act and probably re-enacts an entire soliloquy or something when you gift him the chocolates. he likes teasing you after all — it’s much too fun

but, i can see gentaro lose his composure internally. i mean, he wasn’t entirely expecting chocolates on valentine’s, so they come as a surprise

he’ll admit it — he got a little flustered. it was cute, how you thought of him, and i’m almost certain he keeps the chocolate box as a keepsake (the chocolates themselves were great too, or maybe that was his tinted senses talking)

he’ll probably have to confess or something soon. or he hopes you do instead. either way, gentaro doesn’t think that these feelings were entirely lies

dice

he, uh, doesn’t think much of it. not in the moment, at least

dice breaks out into a large grin, the brightest you possibly have seen, when you give him the chocolates; it’s adorable, actually, and dice is incessantly thanking you

devours the entire thing right away, saying how good the chocolates were. they were his absolute favorite! more so if you made them yourself. they were the tastiest thing he’s had all week

it doesn’t hit him until much much later that it was, well, valentine’s day and your chocolates surely meant something (and even then, one of his teammates probably had to point it out to him)

and it surely makes his heart flutter! he can’t help but grin, to love all those feelings that have piled up. he feels full to bursting, but it’s how he likes it

oh, he’s definitely going to get something for you for white day..if he’s able to save up the money, that is

jakurai

bewildered, possibly. he hasn’t received much chocolate on the day before, especially as of late (perhaps he had when he was still a student), so he’s amused

i mean, he’s certainly appreciative! makes a point to graciously thank you for the kind thought and gift. but oh man jakurai isn’t entirely sure what to do afterward

like, he adores it, obviously. he’ll try to enjoy the whole thing since you had given him it; and he thinks it’s cute that you got him chocolate, obligatory or not

but other than that? he’s in a predicament. jakurai knows this means he’ll have to get you something for white day, but it meant more than that too

it felt good, to receive chocolate from you on valentine’s. jakurai can’t help but smile each time he looks at the box. it was a really sweet gesture, and he wasn’t sure why it felt bigger than it seemed

giddy, happy. he’s definitely excited

i’m sure he gets tons of chocolates each year, probably at the host club. but it definitely does still feel different when you give him one as well

of course, if he’s in host mode, he pulls his sweet talk and flirts. it’s a cute gesture, he says, and even kisses your hand. if he’s not, or when he gets out of host mode, hifumi has a large, bright grin

mm, he can’t hold it in. the adrenaline courses throughout, on a dopamine high. the way his heart flutters probably isn’t all too good, but it certainly feels great. it’s almost like a sugar rush with how energetic he gets

he feels good, and the chocolate tastes good. hifumi’s satisfied, especially since it was you. it’s definitely a moment he will cherish close to his heart

(prob goes all out on white day too, so be prepared..)

doppo

he shouldn’t be too surprised i mean, but he still is when it comes to you

doppo does assume it’s obligatory, especially since that’s what all the coworkers were giving to them in the office that day. he’s gotten his fair share of obligatory chocolate, of course; but still, yours has him feeling some type of way

he’s flustered and all over the place honestly. he does freak out a bit, thanking you endlessly and saying you shouldn’t have gone out of your way. but he still feels too good inside

doppo isn’t entirely sure what he feels towards you (was it a crush? he didn’t have time for those..), but for some reason, he can’t stop thinking about the entire gesture. he keeps staring back at the chocolate, feeling too warm each time

his heart beats feel rejuvenated, more lively, with the way it skips a beat. he can’t help his small smile. and despite how muddled his mind felt, doppo couldn’t help but feel at ease

he feels much better that day. it wasn’t all that bad of a work day, he supposed

Ichiro Yamada

“Yamada is a bit of an easy name… Oh, nevermind my mumblings. I only know this young man in passing. Former member of The Dirty Dawg, son of Rei Amayado. Forgive my phrasing, but he is but a passing face in this whirlwind of faces. Insignificant in my mind.”

Samatoki Aohitsugi

“An abrasive gentleman, isn’t he? Comes with the field I suppose with all the violence and sex. The Katen family is unique in that they don’t dabble with drugs however, which many would argue is a missed market. But who are we to judge as ordinary people?”

Ramuda Amemura

“It’s fascinating how despite being such an insignificant replicant, Ramuda Amemura is unique in that unlike its other copies, it is capable of feeling. It does beg the question of when it was brought into the world and what change in its altered his development… But that expose the Party of Words’ secrets. Many might dismiss or dispose of it. Personally, I keep it under the ones to observe in between business.”

Jakurai Jinguji

“A doctor is a very stressful, if not fulfilling job where a person can completely turn a person’s life around for better… Or worse. Mr. Jinguji is someone I can relate to in some ways. Only difference is that while he lives a peaceful life, atoning for what he sees as past sins, I am stuck still fulfilling my duty. What duty you may ask? Why, it’s being the loyal servant to my former master’s youngest offspring. Whatever else could it be?”

Sasara Nurude

“If it weren’t for his personal encounters, he would be completely dismissible. A comedian rapping? Sure, I don’t have much to say as a butler, but what is a mere TV host going to do without making a complete fool of himself? Luck may be on his side however, since his entire image is built off such buffoonery.”

Kuko Harai

“Like the pierrot from Osaka, this man is but an afterthought. However, I can share young master’s thoughts when it comes to Kuko Harai. His appearance and demeanor goes completely against what is commonly known about Buddhism… Perhaps I should ask Mr. Tetsumasu to clarify our knowledge on Japanese religion. Or even better, I could pay this monk a visit in Nagoya and personally ask about his personal choices to rebel against tradition.”

Jakurai and Hitoya not exactly knowing how to make conversation at the host club and the guests looking a bit confused or out of place when they start lines of conversation related to stuff related to their career/topic of interest that theyre not quite aware of how it may come off as weird socially is somehow amusing but also kind of a mood

I put the hypmic members in a randomizer and switched their occupations a while ago but never got around to drawing it out. Here’s my take on how they’d fare (their ages change depending on who they switched with)

yorozuya doppo: ends up biting off more than he can chew and is exhausted everyday

highschool student rosho: uhm..a bit rowdy but does his work and becomes valedictorian

middle school student rio: a lil odd but well-liked among classmates..very good boi

yakuza jiro: intimidating as f but his face still lights up when he gets a call from nii-chan uwu

officer gentaro: I could not think of anything that wasn’t boring

soldier hifumi: idk much about the military but he doesn’t make it past boot camp

fashion designer jyushi: marketed towards goth/emo teens!!! popular af!!! often gets commissioned by bands with that style!!!!

writer ramuda: "truly a genius of our time..the way he masks the underlying horror of his pieces in a deceptively sweet mask is always chillingly satisfying..."

gambler samatoki: makes bank and eventually just ends up running the casinos lmao

doctor saburo: "give it to me str--" "we need to amputate your penis." "....." anyways he's like a fucking genius master of medical talent where did he get all these qualifications from wtf????

host jakurai: forbidden from actually drinking alcohol and instead provides a more comforting atmosphere for those who don't actually like grandiosity but would like to be pampered or smth

salaryman sasara: absolutely adored by his colleagues and is just about to get a second promotion since he entered the company three months ago

comedian kuko: taking inspo from the traditional aspect of his original profession, he probably does that rakugo style of comedy with the sitting and the props

teacher rei: loved by his students for his lightness, but well known for being a bit scary..and pop quizzes. no one knows him outside of school and he def has a side job

conman jyuto: just doing the same damn thing he's been doing as a cop lol

monk hitoya: HUH....this is the one i've had the most trouble with...he doesn't have the damn pompadour anymore and he's not greedy

vocalist dice: uhm instead of visual kei he would do something closer to the style he usually raps in. a lot of penis party music. struggling to get popular

lawyer ichiro: like matt murdock. only taking cases for those who are really innocent, unlike hitoya who would take the big money cases (and the ones he thought really needed it like kuko and jyushi) and therefore not being R I C H but feeling fulfilled

I swear I kept trying to find out. These two came from the same event (Holy Night with you) with a different setting. In the afternoon Hifumi called Jakurai to ask for the favor, and at night he called Ichiro & Doppo to toast for the night.

since i was too impatient to wait a few hours for the official announcement to find out if ichiro is going to be the next free card, i logged the free/premium cards for the past 60 arb story events* and found some mildly interesting numbers along the way

(this data probably already exists somewhere but honestly it was faster to log it myself than to look for it lol)

fun (and useless) facts under the cut

dice hasn't been a free card in 17 events, and he's shown up 4 times as a premium card during that time

sasara is the only one who hasn't been free for longer (18 events) but he's only shown up once as a premium since he was last free

sasara is also the one who's gone the longest without an appearance at all (7 events)

in the past 60 events everyone has shown up between 9-12 times (ichiro, samatoki, ramuda, and sasara each have 9**; gentaro and dice are the only ones with 12***)

almost everyone has been free either 3 or 4 times in the past 60 events, except jakurai (only free 2 times) and jyushi (free 5 times)

the numbers are all pretty reasonably balanced, like it's three guys per event (i only logged the most recent 60 bc earlier events had different structures) with a total of eighteen guys in the franchise so approximately 10 appearances each in 60 events is fair

on average characters are free 1/3rd of the time though there are some notable outliers (jakurai has only been free 20% of the time in the past 60 events, while jyushi has been free 50% of the time in that same range)

anyway

we seem to really love dice

oh also hitoya and rei have both shown up 10 times in the past 60 events and 4 of those times were together i don't think anyone else has as much of an overlap frequency lmao (even hifudo only have 3 lol; eta: i was wrong jiro and gentaro also have an overlap of 4 but STILL that is a substantial amount of reitoya they are putting in the water here)

*technically 61 events since i included the upcoming one **since i'm including the upcoming event ichiro technically only had 8 appearances in the previous 60, with an appearance in 61 bumping him up to 9 (they are neglecting my boy?!) ***similarly gentaro only hits 12 with event 61 so technically in the previous 60 events only dice had 12 appearances

I am quite possibly the least knowledgeable person about makeup alive. If you put me in a room with James Charles, I'd cancel him out like antimatter, probably annihilating the planet in the resulting explosion. But being clueless has never stopped me, so I am going to make shit up with reckless abandon!

Ichirou: Yeah you know he's into those uhhh you know those anime girl facemasks they sell? He's into those. Wears them on the daily. Got to get that Buster Beautiful Skin.

Jirou: Anything Ichirou does, Jirou does, so he's right out there with Ichirou wearing JoJo's Bizarre Adventures facial masks all over the house.

Saburou: No he's a gamer lol

Samatoki: Hell yes, brother, Samatoki is all about the LOOKS. How does Mr. Hardcore Yokohama Bad Boy walk into the office and demand respect if he's not gussied up to the FUCKING nines? We're talking 30 product "simple routine" videos on Youtube. We're talking SIBLING NIGHTS with Nemu. Have you seen those eyelashes? What is the point of winged eyeliner if it cannot achieve liftoff?

Juuto: A gentleman always needs to look their best, even when they're chasing criminals or trekking through the woods or barreling down the freeway at 200 km/h with Samatoki in the passenger seat. He wears enough concealer to block out the sun on the off chance that if Samatoki ever bites him (not like he's asking asking for this to happen, but you know... better safe than sorry) and turns out to be a vampire, Juuto won't shrivel up and immediately die.

Riou: Just because one lives in the woods doesn't mean that it's any excuse to not look their best at all times. The woods have many natural ingredients, and Riou takes full advantage of them. Nothing like slathering river mud on your face - it's like a mud pack! Exfoliating! He finds wild cucumbers, slices 'em up, and sticks them on his eyes.

Ramuda: Ramuda regularly spends hundreds of thousands of yen on make-up purchases and writes them off as a business expense on his taxes. Does he actually use them, or is this an excuse to have Chuuouku foot exorbitant bills? Only Ramuda knows.

Gentarou: Gentarou possesses all the manic, unfathomably odd energy of a Lush shop but at the same time has an aesthetic to stick to. Only non-modern beauty treatments allowed. We're talking kohl. We're talking oshiroi powder. We're talking dying at the age of 30 because of lead, arsenic, and other poisonous metals featuring heavily in said non-modern beauty treatments.

Dice: Ramuda does it for him. He dolls Dice up in ways that do such dangerous things to Gentarou that they probably contribute to poor Gen's early demise.

Jakurai: He has a long-ass hair routine for his long-ass hair (according to the Spotify radios which may or may not be canon), so he definitely has a makeup routine as well. How else will he look like he just stepped out of a Maybelline ad for every candid shot shown in the manga?

Hifumi: It is his livelihood to look fucking fabulous, and Hifumi did not reach the position of top host in all of Shinjuku by half-assing his job. He is the king of cosmetics, the master of makeup, the sovereign of looking stunning. He owns ALL the things. Whether he's prouder of his Ninja Professional Countertop 6000 blender or his beauty blender [I have no clue what this is] is a topic of much contention.

Doppo: He is trying so hard. :( But all the concealer in the world can't conceal the fact that he is disgustingly overworked. He tries to draw on a smile with lipstick, but - wait, that just makes him sound like he's doing Joker facepaint. Doppo standing in front of a mirror going, "We live in a society." Never mind, scrap this idea. Moving on.

Sasara: Like everything Sasara, if it's funny, then it's appropriate. Sasara once owned a drawer full of eyelash extensions, not to wear, but to leave in innocuous places in Samatoki's office for Samatoki to find, scream at thinking they're bugs, and attempt to smash them with a rolled up newspaper.

Roshou: Once tried to rhyme "Sasara" with "mascara" for a bit only for it to fail.

Rei: Rubs a little baby oil on his pecs everyday to give 'em that golden glow. [Is this what it's used for? Besides babies. I don't actually know what it does for babies either.]

Kuukou: Vanity is forbidden for priests, but it's not vanity if it objectively slaps. In addition to doing his and Juushi's nails just for kicks, he also does Juushi's makeup for shows and Hitoya's for court appearances with big, spiky eyeliner. Juushi appreciates this. Hitoya... not as much.

Juushi: hi my name is jushi 14th mo'on aimono and i have jet black hair with golden moonlight-like highlights (that's how i get my name) and minty kinda green-purple whatever tf color they are eyes like limpid tears and kuukou tells me i look like bofa even though i don't know who that is. i love hot topic and i buy all my clothes from there. for example today i was wearing black lipstick, black eyeliner, white foundation, and red eyesha-

Hypnosis Mic -D.R.B.- Rule the Stage (Jet Set Trio vs. Matenro)

Sypnosis:

After progressing through the qualifying rounds and being accepted as the ones who will represent Aoyama Division in the D.R.B., the Jet Set Trio practices day in and out as they eagerly, yet patiently wait to find out who their opponents will be in the first round.

On one of the days when the group takes a break from practice, Tomi Chōten, leader of Jet Set Trio, receives word from his mother about trouble brewing in Aoyama. Apparently, someone is buying up all of the major businesses in the city. Normally, that would be no cause for alarm, but all of them are businesses that the Chōtens have either purchased stocks in or are partners with. As a result, the family's finances have dwindled. Tomi is put in charge of finding out who is behind this, and getting them to stop it, which he accepts. He tells his teammates, Karada Kessaku and Luis Kōkyū to keep their ears to the ground and report back if they hear anything.

Meanwhile, Luis, who is taking a smoke break from work in his restaurant, comes into contact with Hifumi Izanami, a member of the Shinjuku Division rap team, Matenro. The two speak for a while until Luis asks Hifumi if he knows anything about the individual who is buying up parts of Aoyama. Hifumi states he doesn't know anything and almost seems afraid to speak about it. When Luis asks again, the host's response is the same and he quickly bids farewell, leaving the chef puzzled and suspicious.

Later on in the day, Luis contacts his friend, Rashaad Young of the Okinawa Division, and asks if he could find out information on who it is that's buying up parts of Aoyama. Rashaad states that he can ask around, though it'll take some time. A few days pass before Rashaad informs Luis that the only thing he was able to find out was that the person was affiliated with Chuohku. Luis relays the information to Tomi; both he and his mother are incensed by this news, not surprisingly. While his mother tries to gain more information from inside the government, Tomi and the JST head to Shinjuku to get Hifumi, who they suspect may know something about this individual, to talk.

Arriving in Shinjuku, the three men make their way to Hifumi's place of work, the "Fragrance" Host Club. Upon arriving, Luis, once more, tries to get the host to tell him and his friends about this individual from Chuohku. Luis tells him that there is no use lying, as Hifumi obviously knows something about this person just from his behavior, which says that he must fear them for some reason. Before Hifumi can spill the beans, he is saved by his teammates, Jakurai Jinguji and Doppo Kannonzaka.

Although Luis tries to keep the situation from escalating, Tomi, who is at his wit's end, is done relying on diplomacy and decides to force Hifumi and the rest of Matenro to talk. A rap battle between the two teams ensues, leaving them both exhausted and the host club in need of repairs. The JST decide to retreat for today. As they do, Hifumi feels a familiar chill in the air that frightens him.

News of the conflict makes its way to Chuohku, and as a result, it is now announced that Matenro will face the Jet Set Trio in the next battle of the D.R.B. As both teams prepare, they are unaware of a sly and manipulative woman who is gleefully enjoying the spectacle from the shadows. Will the Aoyama team be able to defeat the Shinjuku team and get the answers they seek? Or will Matenro show the JST just why they were the former champions?
