Into the Y/N Verse!!!

I have been dying with the little AU @pillowspace has done with all the Y/N’s interacting and I couldn’t help it.

I needed a family photo.

I’m so sad I couldn’t get all the ones in that I’d like, it just got too busy. I guess I’ll just have to draw another one, OH WELL!

The parental unit of the group, always tired. Tries to keep others out of trouble as well as themself but fails sometimes. Gives the best cuddles.

Child Y/N - @sorveteir

The adorable babu that everyone would protect with their life. The emotional support human of the group.

Solar Lunacy - @bamsara

The stubborn child/cousin. Always getting into bad situations unintentionally, has no self preservation skills. “Because why not” attitude.

Nightmare - @opudontdonut

The strange one, doesn’t ever sleep, probably has insomnia. Really good at de-escalating situations. Needs the most hugs.

RBFB - @jack-o-phantom

The crazy aunt/uncle. Builds lots of dangerous things and tends to leave them lying around. “Come on, it’s not that dangerous” attitude.

OOIE - @madame-mongoose

Has serious self esteem issues, needs lots of support but doesn’t like help. Most likely to stand in a burning building and say “this is fine.”

Glitched Twilight - yours truly ~

Only one to graduate college. Super smart, zero social skills. Mom of the group, tries to keep everyone from getting themselves killed. Very touch starved.

Fun detail I've noticed as I slowly make my way through the older 3D Zelda games - how out of all the Links that have visible in game personalities* - Twilight Princess Link is the most straightforward Link.

This could be likely cause it's an older game - but that doesn't hold up when you look back to the expressions Link would make in the Wind Waker** so it can't be that. But when you compare the dialogue options with Skyward Sword and botw/totk Links - those Links there are often sassy, can have jerk dialogue moments (Skyward Sword is infamous for this - Peatrice quest anyone? the things he says to NPCs when he's not interested in their quests comes off as incredibly dismissive), puns (botw in particular) and funny moments. TP Link, by comparison, makes no jokes and is often curt at times (a lot of his dialogue options are just "yes" and "no" options or when he's given more personality - "sorry partner").

Now one could argue it's the game's way of trying to make Twilight Princess "more mature" - but this is the game where Link goes to a depressed clown guy to get himself shot out of a giant canon with clown music to get to the desert with one of the darkest dungeons in the series. So if it's for purposes of being "mature" I don't think Nintendo would care about that. They've repeatedly say that Link can be "cool," but not too cool. His puns in botw are a testament to this.

So the direction I'm going to take here is Watsonian - TP Link out of all the Links has no sense of humor. Or more accurately, the guy cannot tell a joke/is overtly serious in this sense. This sort of is a thing in the manga, where Link's "jokes" are often terrible or very obvious misdirections trying to get people to not notice his tragic past/guilt over that and triggers. And when in a setting where he doesn't have to build a Front for himself, he's very literal.

So yeah, TP Link? Not as smartass as the other Links. Despite what Aonuma says that all Links are "bastards" in some way or form, Link in TP is very sweet by comparison. It makes sense though, as TP Link is the equivalent of a camp counselor in this game. So dealing with kids he cannot be snarky or potentially insult them. And Ashei does agree with me on this-

*Links that use dialogue boxes or have complex facial expressions - so basically WW, TP, SkSw, BOTW/TOTK,

**I plan to replay Wind Waker after I'm done with my TP replay and ngl I barely remember this game despite playing it to completion at least 2 times. Possibly three.
