I simply think you all need to see the most gay betrayal arc incident from giant robo. these two characters are like barely plot relevant at all btw they only show up in the last 2 episodes of the OVA to serve cunt and kill eachother
I have one ep of giant robo left and I’ll try to summarize my thoughts about it when I’m done-I like it but it’s super incomprehensible-however I have to post this meme here because IMAGAWA YOU ARE NOT AT ALL SUBTLE (love him for this tho)
In response to your GR couples post: Alberto had a wife that’s mentioned a couple times in a few GR books. Her name is Kosanjou, and she died sometime after Sunny was born. They don’t say how, but I headcanon there were complications following Sunny’s birth. She looks like this:
oh wow, she’s really pretty! Second diversity win, Sunny the magician is mixed race like Genya and Ginrei are. :3
I suspected I might hear from you about Alberto, though he’d also fall into the category that Von Fogler falls into. She existed, he’s got a kid, but since she’s not actually *there* I wouldn’t count her for the sake of the joke. This is super neat to know, though.
Day 310: Giant Robo (Giant Robo: The Day the Earth Stood Still)
This was a request from @centuries-of-thoughts who asked me for Giant Robo! I assume that this is the guy, being that his name is Giant Robo. I know vaguely of this guy, but I’ve never read the manga or watched the Anime. But I watched the intro on YouTube, and he looks amazing! So I’ll watch it! (At some point anyways…)
Would anyone be interested in purchasing a GR themed acrylic keychain with this design? If I make them, I'll probably sell them for about 12$ USD. I want them to have a glitter effect, which costs more to produce.
The big watermark won't be on the final keychain by the way, I just don't want anyone to steal this design. You can find the poll here.
In terms of scale, this plays out something like a cross between an old-school sci fi anime (which is what it actually is) and a Greek Tragedy. Everything is huge, stylish, and feels inevitable. It doesn't really fall into a single genre, something representative is that the enormous final battle, otherwise a contest between two enormous mechanical beings, is interrupted with a fight straight out of a samurai series and it doesn't feel strange or out of place at all.
Interesting ruminations on what a sacrifice truly means and is in here, too. I'm going to be thinking about this one for a while and I would not be surprised if I rewatched it at some point and eventually scored it a bit higher. Good show.
thinking abt the giant robo ova so much that i can like Feel It Physically. why is there like zero fandom for this thing. I need to talk about kenji/ginrei NOW
