«Qui adesso cambia tutto e per capirne di più dobbiamo aspettare l’esito delle prossime elezioni politiche. Non si uccide la gallina dalle uova d’oro se non ce n’è già pronta un’altra che ne fa di più». Giovanni Falcone stava riflettendo con il collega e amico Piero Grasso, e il riferimento era all’omicidio di Salvo Lima, avvenuto due mesi prima. Il rientro a Palermo di Falcone con la moglie Francesca Morvillo era previsto per venerdì 22 maggio. Ma la magistrata venne bloccata, aveva una riunione la mattina successiva convocata dal presidente della commissione d’esame per uditori giudiziari, di cui faceva parte. Il volo fu rinviato al sabato pomeriggio.

Alle 17.43 il Falcon 50 noleggiato dal Sisde atterrò sulla pista di Punta Raisi. Antonio Montinaro, caposcorta del giudice, si avvicinò al velivolo. Gli altri agenti di scorta della polizia di Stato attendevano davanti alle tre auto blindate. Giuseppe Costanza aprì il cofano e sistemò i bagagli. Poi salì dietro e lasciò le chiavi dell’auto al giudice, che aveva deciso di guidare. Accanto a Falcone si sedette la moglie. Ad aprire il corteo diretto a Palermo la Fiat Croma marrone guidata da Vito Schifani. Insieme a lui in auto c’erano Rocco Dicillo e Antonio Montinaro. A seguire la Croma azzurra guidata da Gaspare Cervello, dove a bordo c’erano anche gli agenti Paolo Capuzza e Angelo Corbo. Nel frattempo, il boss di Altofonte Gioacchino La Barbera stava percorrendo in macchina la stradina parallela all’autostrada, seguendo le tre blindate del giudice con il telefonino sempre acceso. Era in contatto con i mafiosi che da un paio di ore erano in attesa sulla collinetta di Capaci: Giovanni Brusca, Antonino Gioè, Santino Di Matteo, Salvatore Biondino, Mariano Tullio Troia, Giovanbattista Ferrante. Ad azionare il radiocomando fu Brusca (o almeno lui credette così), che per qualche istante esitò. «Via, via, via», lo esortò Nino Gioè, per ben tre volte. E alla terza Brusca pigiò il tasto. Ma come spesso accade in questa storia, spesso la realtà si discosta dalla narrazione ufficiale e ancora più spesso le cose sono sempre più complesse di quanto appaiono. Durante il processo d’appello sulla strage di Capaci che si svolse dinanzi alla Corte d’Assise di Appello di Caltanissetta, Pietro Riggio (ex agente del corpo della polizia penitenziaria e contemporaneamente affiliato alla cosca mafiosa di Caltanissetta, per conto della quale svolgeva il ruolo di esattore della mafia) dichiarò che il suo compagno di cella, l’ex appartenente alla polizia di Stato Giovanni Peluso, gli avrebbe confidato di aver lavorato per il Sisde e di aver partecipato alle fasi esecutive della strage insieme a un altro appartenente alla polizia di Stato, denominato “il turco”. Sempre nel corso delle stesse udienze, la genetista Nicoletta Resta (perita nominata dalla Corte d’Assise d’Appello) affermò che nel luogo in cui fu preparata la strage c’era stata e si era trattenuta certamente una donna in quanto resti di Dna femminile furono estratti dai reperti rinvenuti nei pressi del luogo dell’esplosione. La mafia non aveva mai acconsentito che una donna partecipasse a una qualsiasi sua azione, per cui tale donna doveva necessariamente provenire da un ambito non mafioso. Qualche anno dopo si svolse (sempre a Caltanissetta) il processo “Capaci bis”. Nel corso delle udienze questa volta Riggio venne preso sul serio e fu organizzato un confronto tra lui e Peluso, questa volta indagato per la strage del 23 maggio 1992. Riggio: «Peluso mi disse: “Ma tu sei sicuro, credi ancora che il tasto del telecomando l’abbia premuto Brusca?” Io rimasi spiazzato. “Mah – dissi - non lo so perché mi dice questo”. Però ho intuito subito, nell’immediatezza dei fatti, che sicuramente conosceva, sapeva qualche cosa, o diretta o de relato o non so come, che gli facesse affermare questa cosa che Brusca effettivamente non avesse premuto lui».

Il massacro del Circeo

Quando si parla del massacro del Circeo ci si riferisce ai fatti avvenuti tra il 29 e il 30 settembre del 1975. Quando due giovani ragazze, Rosaria Lopez e Donatella Colasanti, furono rapite, stuprate e torturate fino alla morte della Lopez. Colasanti, invece, riuscì a salvarsi fingendosi morta.

I tre responsabili del crimine provenivano da famiglie della borghesia romana. Andrea Ghira, 22 anni, era figlio di un imprenditore edile. Angelo Izzo, 20 anni, studiava medicina. Mentre Gianni Guido, 19 anni, studiava architettura. Tutti e tre erano vicini agli ambienti neofascisti e missini.

Ghira e Izzo avevano anche precedenti penali: nel 1973 avevano compiuto insieme una rapina a mano armata per la quale avevano scontato venti mesi nel carcere di Rebibbia. Izzo, un anno prima del Circeo, aveva violentato due ragazzine insieme a due amici ed era stato condannato a due anni e mezzo di reclusione, mai scontati.

Rosaria Lopez e Donatella Colasanti avevano rispettivamente 19 e 17 anni all'epoca dei fatti. Provenivano da famiglie residenti nel quartiere popolare della Montagnola. Le due conobbero i loro aguzzini qualche giorno prima del massacro, al bar della torre Fungo dell'Eur. In occasione di questo appuntamento, Izzo e Guido proposero alle ragazze di incontrarsi di lì a qualche giorno per una festa.

Nel tardo pomeriggio del 29 settembre i quattro arrivarono a Villa Moresca, di proprietà della famiglia di Ghira, che sorgeva sul promontorio del Circeo, in zona Punta Rossa. Dopo qualche ora passata a chiacchierare e ad ascoltare musica, Izzo e Guido cominciarono a fare esplicite avance sessuali alle ragazze, le quali rifiutarono provocando la reazione furiosa dei giovani.

Ghira tirò fuori una pistola e, minacciandole, disse che apparteneva al Clan dei marsigliesi, un'organizzazione criminale di stampo mafioso dedita a rapimenti e traffico di stupefacenti negli anni ’70. Secondo Ghira, il capo Jacques Berenguer aveva ordinato di rapire due ragazze.

Le due ragazze furono violentate, seviziate, massacrate e insultate dai tre. Furono legate e chiuse in uno dei bagni della villetta dove ruppero un lavandino nel tentativo di liberarsi. Quando i tre scoprirono il tentativo di fuga, decisero di ucciderle.

I tre le drogarono cercando di addormentarle, ma, come raccontò Colasanti nella sua deposizione: “Io e Rosaria eravamo più sveglie di prima e allora passarono ad altri sistemi”. Nel mezzo delle torture, Guido si assentò per cenare a Roma con i suoi familiari, poi in serata fece ritorno al Circeo e si riunì ai suoi amici aguzzini.

Lopez venne trascinata al piano di sopra. Dalla testimonianza di Colasanti: “La sentivo piangere e urlare, poi silenzio all'improvviso. Devono averla uccisa in quel momento”. Si scoprì che la 19enne venne annegata nella vasca da bagno.

Poi si scagliarono contro la 17enne. Le legarono una cintura al collo e la trascinarono sul pavimento nel tentativo di strangolarla. Sentì uno dei tre lamentarsi: "Questa non vuole morire". Fu allora che capì che per salvarsi doveva fingersi morta. Fu colpita con una spranga alla testa e non reagì.

La rinchiusero insieme al cadavere della ragazza nel bagagliaio di una Fiat 127 bianca.

I tre poi partirono verso Roma, intenzionati a disfarsi dei cadaveri. Arrivati in viale Pola, nel quartiere Trieste, i tre decisero di andare a cena. Colasanti iniziò a gridare e a battere colpi alle pareti del bagagliaio.

I rumori attirarono un metronotte che diede l'allarme ai carabinieri.

La ragazza fu portata in ospedale dove fu ricoverata, con prognosi di oltre trenta giorni. Izzo e Guido furono arrestati entro poche ore, mentre Ghira, messo in allarme da una soffiata, riuscì a fuggire.

Il processo iniziò nell’estate del 1976. La famiglia Lopez rinunciò a costituirsi parte civile dopo aver accettato un risarcimento di cento milioni di lire dalla famiglia Guido. Donatella Colasanti scelse di andare a processo sostenuta da centinaia di attiviste femministe, rappresentata dall'avvocata Tina Lagostena Bassi.

Izzo e Guido furono condannati all’ergastolo in primo grado. Dopo un tentativo di evasione nel 1977, in appello nel 1980 la condanna di Guido venne ridotta a 30 anni. Riuscì comunque a evadere nel 1981 e a fuggire in Sud America. Fu rintracciato nel 1994 a Panama ed estradato in Italia. Ha concluso la sua detenzione nel 2009 godendo di uno sconto di pena grazie all'indulto.

Nel novembre del 2004 Izzo conquistò la semilibertà. Il 28 aprile 2005, rapì e uccise Maria Carmela Linciano (49 anni) e Valentina Maiorano (14 anni), moglie e figlia di Giovanni Maiorano, un pentito della Sacra Corona Unita che Izzo conobbe in carcere a Campobasso. Nel 2007 Izzo fu nuovamente condannato all’ergastolo per il duplice omicidio premeditato.

Ghira riuscì a fuggire in Spagna e adottò il falso nome di Massimo Testa de Andres. Nel 2005 un cadavere sepolto a Melilla nel 1994 venne identificato come quello di Ghira, ma le famiglie delle vittime non credettero a questa ricostruzione. Nel corso degli anni, presunti suoi avvistamenti sono stati segnalati in Brasile, Kenya, Sudafrica e nel quartiere romano di Tor Pignattara.

Donatella Colasanti è morta il 30 dicembre 2005, all'età di 47 anni, a Roma a causa di un tumore al seno, ancora duramente sconvolta per la violenza subita trenta anni prima. Avrebbe voluto assistere al nuovo processo contro Izzo. Non smise mai di chiedere giustizia. Le sue ultime parole furono: "Battiamoci per la verità".

Rally Club Valpantena 2023

Sono 162 gli equipaggi che prenderanno parte al il 5° Lessinia Rally Historic e il 21° Revival Rally Club Valpantena, le manifestazioni organizzate dal Rally Club Valpantena nell’anno dei primi quarant’anni del Club, previste per il 10 e 11 novembre. Le due gare si disputeranno per la prima volta insieme sia per questo importante anniversario che  per il rinnovo del regolamento che ha portato il 21° Revival Rally Club Valpantena a disputarsi come gara di regolarità a media e non più di regolarità sport. il 5° Lessinia Rally Historic sarà un rally storico valido per il Trofeo Rally di Zona, per il Trofeo Rally ACI Vicenza, per il Trofeo Rally Veronesi e per la Ford Cup. La risposta dei concorrenti è stata unica per le due corse, che percorreranno un identico percorso, con 81 vetture per il rally storico e 81 per la regolarità a media Nel 5° Lessinia Rally Historic, che varrà anche per il Trofeo Banca Valsabbina, ci saranno Raffa e Paolo Scardoni su BMW M3 della Scaligera Rallye, vincitori già in due occasioni nel 2019 e 2020 e con Raffa che ha conquistato il triplete lo scorso anno, in coppia con Andrea Signorini, ma ci sono anche  Bernardino Marsura, con Massimiliano Menin, su Porsche Carrera RS del Team Bassano, come Riccardo Bianco, che nel rally ha vinto nel 2021, con Matteo Valerio su Ford Sierra Cosworth della Palladio Historic. E prevista la partecipazione di Beniamino Lo Presti con Haianes Tania Bertasini su Porsche Carrera RS della MRC Sport, pilota impegnato nel Campionato Italiano Rally Auto Storiche dove quest’anno ha chiuso quarto nel 3° Raggruppamento, vinto nel 2022, mentre sono in considerazione anche Superti-Brunetti (Porsche 911 Carrera RS/Squadra Corse Angelo Caffi) e Patuzzo-Martini (Ford Sierra Cosworth/Team Bassano) che con l’iscrizione al Lessinia Rally Historic sono campioni della Ford Cup 2023, prima edizione, e si sono assicurati l’iscrizione al Rally del Benaco Storico, Rally della Valpolicella Historic e Lessinia Rally Historic 2024. La lista dei potenziali protagonisti del rally storico vede Giorgio Costenaro e Lucia Zambiasi saranno al via con la loro Ford Sierra Cosworth (Team Bassano), mentre Ivan Fioravanti con Lorenzo Setti sarà con la Ford Escort RS (Team Bassano) con la quale si è già tolto molte soddisfazioni al Rally Lana storico. Tra i piloti locali ci sono anche Tezza-Merzari (BMW M3/Pintarally Motorsport), Panato-Albieri (BMW M3/Pintarally Motorsport), Menegolli-Zambelli (Fiat 131 Abarth), Canteri-Valbusa (BMW M3/ASD Daytona Corse) mentre sarà gradito il ritorno di Riccardo Scandola su una BMW M3 con Alessandro Campedelli (Movisport). Nella regolarità a media 21° Revival Rally Club Valpantena, che sarà premiata con il Trofeo Bertani, una splendida magnum di Amarone, la classifica non sarà di velocità ma di precisione nel rispetto delle medie imposte. Il programma inizierà venerdì 10 con le verifiche sportive e tecniche alla Alberti Lamiere di Lugo di Grezzana dalle 13 alle 17 contornate dalla festa inaugurale aperta a tutti grazie alla disponibilità della Famiglia Alberti, mentre la parte competitiva prenderà il via, per la prima volta, dall’azienda valpantenate dove sarà allestito il primo Controllo Orario alle 19:30. Le vetture scenderanno a Grezzana per la cerimonia di partenza alle 20 in Piazza Ballini e quindi saliranno ad Alcenago per la PS1 in notturna in partenza alle 20:30, con la cena in Villa Arvedi e poi riordino notturno alle Cantine Bertani, sempre a Grezzana. Sabato 11 ci saranno tre prove da ripetere per due volte, Velo Veronese, che riprenderà dal percorso del Revival 2022 nel cuore della Lessinia, Valsquaranto, che sarà la più lunga dell’evento con oltre 14 chilometri mentre la Bosco Chiesanuova sarà la Lughezzano-Bosco in discesa. Il riordino di metà giornata  sarà alla Migross Frac di Stallavena, il parco assistenza sulla SP6 all’altezza di Grezzana e l’arrivo in Piazza della Chiesa a Bosco Chiesanuova è prevista dalle 16 per rendere omaggio anche all’altra località legata agli eventi del Rally Club Valpantena. Sono passati 30 anni dal 27 luglio 1993 quando, poco dopo le 23, a Milano, in via Palestro, all'altezza del Padiglione d’Arte contemporanea (PAC), lo scoppio di un ordigno nascosto in una Fiat Uno rubata causò la morte di 5 persone e ingenti danni agli edifici tra cui la Galleria d'Arte Moderna, la Villa Reale e il Padiglione davanti al quale l'autobomba era stata parcheggiata. Quella notte a Milano morirono i Vigili del Fuoco Carlo La Catena, Sergio Pasotto e Stefano Picerno, accorsi sul posto poco prima della deflagrazione, l'agente di Polizia Locale Angelo Ferrari che, scorto il fumo uscire dall’auto, aveva chiesto l'intervento del 112 e un cittadino del Marocco, Moussafir Driss, senza fissa dimora, colpito a morte da una lamiera mentre dormiva su una panchina. A loro, vittime del terrorismo mafioso, tutta la città di Milano renderà omaggio giovedì 27 luglio in una giornata commemorativa che durerà fino alla mezzanotte. Alle ore 9.30 il Sindaco di Milano Beppe Sala e le altre autorità civili e militari saranno in via Palestro 14, davanti al PAC, dove dieci anni fa è stata posta una targa in ricordo delle vittime, per la deposizione delle corone di fiori e gli interventi istituzionali. The magistrate Giovanni Falcone was killed by the mafia because he was guilty of having fought the mafia and above all he made people understand that one should not even think about living with the mafia, but rather that it must be fought hard and could be beaten.

Together with him, his wife and magistrate Francesca Morvillo and the escort agents Vito Schifani, Rocco Dicillo, Antonio Montinaro were killed. Since that day, unfortunately, the survivors of the massacre have been unjustly blamed and marginalized; considered uncomfortable because their intimate, personal and first-hand account of the story could not be exploited by all those who fight the mafia once a year, on institutional catwalks, and are not at all interested in defeating it as they all were the victims of the Capaci massacre.

This scene shows an assault on an Austro-Hungarian trench during the most famous Arditi action, the ten-minute attack on the Col Moschin (1,278m), in the Mt. Grappa sector on 16 June 1918. The basic tactical unit was a pair of men, based on the principle of the two-man system, and here we see them in action. The sergeant is armed with a Bodeo mod.1889 A revolver, cal. 10.35mm, and the soldiers are using the trademark tools of the Ardito, the dagger and the Thevenot hand grenade. One of them is about to throw an incendiary grenade, in order to provide a covering of smoke. They have their carbines across their shoulders, for defending their positions after the assault. A gunner with a Fiat 15 Villar Perosa sub-machine gun is providing covering fire; his ammunition carrier (not shown) would follow behind him with more magazines. He has the sub-machine gun badge on his left sleeve. With an impressive rate of fire (25 rounds per second), the Villar Perosa was useful for directing automatic fire close to enemy trenches, but was difficult to operate and tended to waste ammunition. It needed to be reloaded after four to six bursts, each of them taking less than a second, and for this reason it was nicknamed the ‘raspberry’. i have a huge amount of love for Pang ever since because of his character thats why my initial reaction to everything that happens is how will this affect him. i can't even fathom the pain he's going through. seeing everything go down and blaming himself.

 i actually have a lot of thoughts more to process

but let me just prioritize Pang. he has this big responsibility in his shoulders and he always felt like he needed to do something for him and he's loved ones. the one who wears the crown, must bear its weight. it breaks my heart to see him down and feel so helpless. he has a lot in his plate with people really depending on him. he didnt want to be the leader/catalyst, but he did everything--more than what he can offer. please, be strong, Pang. hang in there.

second, GUN ATP ACADEMY AWARDS. this and the last EP really explained how trust can easily be ruined and how mistrust from each other can create destruction within the system. Khun Darin was a snake in her own. She took advantage of the growing doubt between the XV and purposely used Punn to start the division. She knew Punn’s abilities and though Punn was able to withstand her in the first part when he said something like “Whatever Parawet says”, the growing doubt and mistrust within the group fuel the fire for Punn to eventually fall to Khun Darin’s trap. While my friend and I watched the part when Pang didnt disclose his plan with Punn, i knew that its gonna spark the push needed for Punn to really switch. And also his potential is on a heat because of his fight with Claire - the piece that has been holding back all of his other personalities. I get Punn tho, Pang couldve really just tell but I also get the internal feud between the boys and girls in which Pang is in the centerpoint. Pang was placed in a very diff situation. 

third, FIAT ANGELO ANOTHER ACADEMY AWARDS. god the look of pure evil and no regrets get me every time. he was smiling like he didnt just stab Punn and gassed all his friends. the smile mom. he’s insanely good. okay, now for his reasons, do I get some part of what his point was, the totality doesnt really sit well. his method was really wrong and he wanted something radical but wrong. he wasnt satisfied with the system as it is thats why he wanted to alienate what he thought was the problem. you see the thing is, the system was the problem that Pang wanted to fix from the inside. But Korn wanted to remove something from the system which would create an imbalance nature. I hate Korn, his betrayal, and ideals so much but NOT the point of him dying jesus no--- not like that. 

next. an important part. aside from answering some of the mysteries, it was so nice and warm to know that Chanon was watching over them silently all along. and how the gifted juniors sparked a need for change in society. the gifted is really a family. it was like Chanon was this guardian angel looking at them from a far and ready to come and rescue (just like this) when its necessary. i really love this part. and can i just emphasize, his talk with Pang on CHANGE was very timely. and boi the relief i felt when some of the theories and unanswered questions were already finally explained. its been really hard to walk in a dark road and not knowing what you're finding. this shed some light to why are they doing what they doing.

When Machiavelli wrote, “in order to know Moses’ virtue it was necessary that the people of Israel be slaves in Egypt …,” he was pointing to the truth that knowing what one is up against is a powerful incentive for dealing with it intelligently. Genesis tells us that only in Moses’ time did the Egyptians make clear how harsh was the alternative to the Exodus by deciding to kill their longtime slaves’ baby boys.

Today, the oligarchy that controls American society’s commanding heights leaves those who are neither its members nor its clients little choice but to marshal their forces for their own exodus. The federal government, the governments of states and localities run by the Democratic Party, along with the major corporations, the educational establishment, and the news media set strict but movable boundaries about what they may or may not say—on pain of being cast out, isolated from society’s mainstream. Using an ever-shifting variety of urgent excuses, which range from the coronavirus, to the threat of domestic terrorism, to catastrophic climate change, to the evils of racism, they issue edicts that they enforce through anti-democratic means—from social pressure and threats, to corporate censorship of digital platforms, to bureaucratic fiat. Nobody voted for this.

What forces can and can’t this oligarchy bring to bear? We have a hint from Time magazine’s Feb. 4, 2021, valedictory of “a vast, cross-partisan campaign” by leaders of business, labor, and the media, in cooperation with the Democratic Party, that “got states to change voting systems and laws” for the 2020 presidential election in contravention of black-letter constitutional law. Rulings by judges in Michigan and Virginia that changes to those states’ absentee ballot laws were blatantly illegal matters not one whit.

Why not? Because the coalition of masters controls the levers of the state and the press. As Time reveals, they “helped secure hundreds of millions in public and private funding. They fended off voter-suppression lawsuits, recruited armies of poll workers and got millions of people to vote by mail for the first time. They successfully pressured social media companies to take a harder line against disinformation and used data-driven strategies to fight viral smears.” Because these elites realized that “engaging with toxic content only made it worse,” they decided on “removing content or accounts that spread disinformation and by more aggressively policing it in the first place.” Instead of answering facts and arguments with which they disagreed, they would ignore their substance and smear whoever voiced them.

The boldness and novelty of these as well as of unmentioned tactics delivered the desired electoral result, and power heretofore unimaginable: Americans in 2021 are being fired or “canceled” from society for whatever anyone connected with the oligarchy finds objectionable—even for asking for evidence of the oligarchy’s assertions. Yet Time tells us that because the process of defeating Donald Trump’s voters angered them further, these oligarchs worry that they gained only “a respite.” Hence the united oligarchy must seek, as The New York Times’ Jamelle Bouie put it, permanent “national political dominance.”

Though that dominance seems at hand, the general population’s compliance with it is not. That is because isolating and alienating anybody, let alone half the country, is the proverbial two-edged sword. Anytime you isolate and alienate someone else, you do the same to yourself. The boundaries that the oligarchs have drawn, are drawing, separate them from the American people’s vast majority, whose consciousness of powerlessness and defenselessness clarifies their choice between utter subjection and doing whatever it might take to exit a system that no longer seems to allow for the prospect of republican self-government.

By this century’s second decade, the oligarchs who occupy the commanding heights of American life had ceased trying to persuade. Self-government has declined as corporations have wielded public powers with private discretion. America’s ruling class—bipartisan, public and private—grew to disdain the rest of America’s religiosity, patriotism, and tastes. But until our own time, most Americans either had not noticed their loss of status as citizens or assumed that they could vote to regain it. But the rulers inspired no confidence and ruled by pulling rank.

Hate-as-identity was key to the ruling class’s victory in the 2020 election. For the elites, indulging sentiments of moral superiority, promoting hate, and rubbing “deplorable” faces in the dirt is a means to secure and mobilize supporters, which itself is incidental to securing the material benefits of power. For those who deliver the votes, indulging hate is affirmation of identity.

Ruling people by insulting and harming them is problematic, and not reversible. The use that the oligarchy made of the COVID epidemic added to insult and injury, as well as to its power, in a manner previously unimaginable. Boldly dismissing without argument the fact that viral infections cannot be stopped from running their course once they have taken root in a population, they asserted that acquiescing to indefinite cessation of social and economic activities they deemed to be nonessential would stop the disease’s progression. The ensuing lockdowns, mask mandates, and other measures made life for most Americans worse in every way. But these strictures also crippled the sectors of American society independent of and resistant to the oligarchy—religious institutions and small businesses. They isolated people and limited what they could hear from and say to each other, leaving them prey to one-way propaganda narratives backed by nightly threats of mob violence.

Correctly, however, the American oligarchy, which resides these days in the Democratic Party, feared that the weaponized, mutually validating narratives with which it had bombarded the population could not guarantee that the American people would vote differently in 2020 than they did in 2016, widespread public dislike for Donald Trump notwithstanding. Not a few suspected that the COVID heavy-handedness had increased resentment among people who had learned to be suspicious of pollsters, reporters, and opinion-samplers.

Ordinary credulity was never enough for swallowing the narrative that universal vote by mail, coupled with drop boxes for ballots and ballot harvesting by self-proclaimed civic groups, plus the reduction or elimination of verification of signatures, would do anything other than transfer electoral power from those who cast votes to those who count them—that is, to the oligarchy and its party. Even so, the ruling class’s victory depended on tens of thousands of votes out of 156 million, in some of the most corrupt counties in the land. In Pennsylvania, the vast majority of all mailed ballots were for Biden. The oligarchy sealed the victory as brazenly as they gained it: by meeting demands for transparency with ad hominem accusations backed by threats of social ostracism and enforced by control, which itself was attained in part by issuing naked threats backed by legislative and bureaucratic power—all over partisan, monopoly digital platforms which eventually participated in censorship.

The oligarchy’s power over American institutions public and private, however, does not change the fact that it rests on near universal voluntary compliance. The irrevocable alienation of and from at least half of Americans has canceled much of the oligarchs’ moral legitimacy and left them obliged to rule by further alienating and punishing—to rule a house that they divided against itself. Hence, the unprecedented power it gathered will prove less significant than the manner in which it did the gathering.

The deplorables plainly stand no chance of dismantling the new American system. Corporate executives, not legislatures, governors, or presidents are the ones who decide what happens to the trillions of dollars created jointly by the Federal Reserve and Wall Street. They are the ones who regulate speech and attitudes, who for the most part decide who rises and who does not. And they are the part of the oligarchy most insulated from republican institutions.

In our time, millions of people have grown up or been educated no longer to want or be able to live as citizens of what had been the American republic. Partisans in mind, heart, and habit, their support of the oligarchy’s partisan rule has left the United States with two peoples of opposing character, aspirations, and tastes within its national borders. The government bureaucracies are led by persons selected and habituated against the deplorables. The same can be said of the educational establishment and corporate boardrooms. What sort of dictatorial power would it take to purge them? Were the deplorables to struggle for the partisan power to oppress the others, they would guarantee dysfunction at best, war at worst. That is why it makes most sense for them to assert their own freedom.

Some sort of mostly peaceful exodus is within our powers to achieve. A very bad imitation of Mr. Smith was able to convince 75 million to rise against dangers that were still largely theoretical in 2016. Better imitators can lead many more to act against present ones, and to live within institutions of their own making. We can withdraw our compliance, go our own way, and build anew.

Our American exodus won’t be led by a Moses. The Republican Party, with the exception of a few national-level personages, may be as useless as ever. But politics is a collective activity, and the lack of top-down leadership notwithstanding, our exodus is already in progress, thanks to Americans’ legal structures and traditions of state and local autonomy, as well as our Tocquevillian taste for organizing ourselves into ad hoc groups for the common benefit.

What to do about the media’s banning or restricting the circulation of ideas with which it disagrees, including the distribution of books and movies, is a major issue of national politics. Without shame, medically unqualified “fact checkers” censor the writings of physicians on medical matters, while defining their own beliefs about gender and race as “science.” Letting such pretenses stand also ratifies the negation of the First Amendment. Overcoming them requires ending the exercise of what amount to governmental powers, indeed of police powers, by nongovernmental persons and entities.

Not so long ago, government power was the only threat to the First Amendment. But oligarchy’s essence is precisely the blurring and blending of public and private power in a partisan manner. Hence, media malpractice must be dealt with as part of a bigger political problem, namely expanding the Bill of Rights’ coverage to ostensibly private entities.

What is to be done about private companies that subject employees to training aimed at convincing them that there is something wrong with being white—or at least pretending to convince them? Or that they must abide by the oligarchy’s preferences? To be sure, state governments may outlaw such training within their borders, as part of their general police power. But big employers may object to such laws as contrary to their own freedom of speech, while asserting that the employees’ attendance at those sessions is voluntary. Even if courts back them up, governors and mayors don’t have to listen and can impose their penalties. Public figures, or brave employees, can organize many if not most employees to stay away and to explain just how wrong it is to racially stereotype. Management can’t fire them all. Yet republican self-government can return to at least some Americans only if and when a bloc of major states puts itself in the position of dictating what will and will not happen within their borders.

Until recently, graduation from highly selective colleges seemed to certify their graduates as better for having been admitted, and doubly so for having learned more than students at lesser schools. But for a generation, the Ivy League, Stanford, and others have made a point of admitting many students with lower scores on the Scholastic Aptitude Test rather than students with higher ones. In general, and with the exception of physics, chemistry, and pure math, the more highly rated the college, the less work it expects from its students. And since learning is inherently proportionate to studying, graduates of these academic peaks often know less than kids out of Podunk State. Yet they give their students something of supposedly greater practical value than knowledge: prestige, pretentiousness, and access to enviable careers.

Which leads one to ask why the nation’s most powerful consulting groups, private equity firms, and big banks hire Ivy League types and pay them so much. They are not necessarily all that bright or knowledgeable. Why then are they so valuable? Not because of what they know, but who they are: junior members of the oligarchy, identically chosen, trained, and confirmed to defend its interests, to communicate its priorities, and preserve its hierarchy. How come the public-private oligarchy was able to use the COVID challenge to crush independent business, thus transferring massive wealth to itself? Because its various parts are staffed by interconnected people who, whatever their differences, instinctively trump the Smiths’ priorities with those of their own class.

The oligarchy’s cancellation of most ordinary people out of its desired America leaves the latter with the choice between helotry and exodus. But since submission to inconstant, inept masters is impossible, common sense suggests counter-canceling: limiting involvement with the oligarchy to minimizing its interference on individuals who don’t share its aims and preferences.

The oligarchy’s cancellation of ordinary working people—of those who actively participate in forms of organized religion, and are otherwise attached to the common norms and values that prevailed in America and shaped the civilization in and by which most of us live—signals an alienation deeper than that between citizens of different but friendly nations. Asking how this cultural chasm has come to be detracts from the hard task of understanding its depth and making the best of it. Like married couples who have lost or given up what had united them, trying to work through irreconcilable differences only drives Americans’ domestic quarrels toward more violence.

Rally Alpi Orientali Historic 2023

Un weekend da non perdere quello del 58° Rally del Friuli – 27° Alpi Orientali Historic, in programma il 15 e 16 luglio, che sarà il sesto appuntamento del Campionato Italiano Rally Auto Storiche e terzo della Coppa Rally di IV zona, organizzato dalla Scuderia Friuli ACU, che prevede anche le validità per il Campionato Automobilistico FVG, poi per l’R-Italian Trophy, per il Trofeo Pirelli Accademia e per il Michelin Trofeo Italia. Il Campionato Italiano Rally Autostoriche arriva in Friuli dopo una prima parte decisamente avvincente, con la classifica è in mano ad Antonio Parisi, da anni riferimento della categoria al volante della sua Porsche 911, con 102 punti, che si è aggiudicato il primo girone, ma non ha troppo margine sul secondo, Giuliano Palmieri, che lo segue a soli due punti. Terzo nella classifica provvisoria è Massimo Giuliani, con una Lancia Fulvia HF, più staccato, a 61 punti. Il secondo raggruppamento ha in testa il pavese Matteo Musti, tornato in pianta stabile nel Campionato con la sua Porsche 911 Carrera RS, mentre al secondo posto c’è Giovanni Nucera con 93 punti e terzo il valtellinese Lucio Da Zanche, noto tra le vetture storiche italiane ed europee, a 57. Nel terzo raggruppamento il siciliano Natale Mannino ha 125 punti, al secondo posto c’è il lucchese Riccardo De Bellis con 103 punti, seguiti dall’elbano Massimo Giudicelli, con la fida VolksWagen Golf GTI. E’ il rodigino Matteo Luise, con la Fiat Ritmo 130 Abarth, il leader del quarto raggruppamento, seguito dall’accoppiata tutta toscana composta dal senese Valter Pierangioli e dal livornese Riccardo Mariotti, entrambi con una più potente Ford Sierra Cosworth. Anche quest’anno si rimane a Cividale del Friuli come sede di partenza ed arrivo ed anche come quartier generale, dove Faedis, Manzano, Prepotto, San Leonardo, Stregna e Torreano sono i comuni interessati quest’anno dal passaggio della competizione, una tradizione che si ripete per attendere ed ammirare il passaggio dei concorrenti. La gara sarà caratterizzata da un totale di 8 prove speciali per 92,080 chilometri di impegni competitivi a fronte del totale del percorso che ne misura 274,08 mentre la competizione moderna vedrà 6 prove speciali e 70,960 di distanza sul complessivo che ne misura 218,960. Oltre al percorso, la novità è che si torna a correre in due giornate, con le partenze che avvieranno dalla zona del Palasport con le auto storiche del tricolore dalle 14,01 di sabato 15 luglio mentre alle 15,11 sarà la volta delle moderne del CRZ. Nella prima giornata di gara le competizioni affronteranno due prove speciali, seguite dal riordinamento notturno mentre domenica 16 luglio si avranno le restanti piesse con arrivi ben  distinti, dalle 13,56 le moderne del CRZ e dalle 15,56 quelle del Campionato Italiano Auto Storiche. Circeo: storia di un feroce stupro e assassinio per mano dei fascisti della Roma bene Uno strupro ripetuto. Poi botte, violenze, crudeltà e infine la decisione di uccidere le loro vittime. Una sorta di rituale fascista celebrato da un gruppo di ragazzotti esaltati che pensavano di poter disporre della vita (e quindi della morte) delle loro vittime. Era il il 29 settembre del 1975 quando vennero scoperti per caso i corpi di Rosaria Lopez e Donatella Colasanti chiusi nel portabagagli di una Fiat 127: la prima, 19 anni, era morta; la seconda, 17enne, si era finta senza vita per salvarsi. Le due ragazze erano state invitate a una festa a Villa Moresca, sul promontorio del Circeo da tre giovani legati ad ambienti neofascisti di Roma: Gianni Guido, Angelo Izzo e Andrea Ghira. Per le due giovani l'ingresso nella villa, di proprietà della famiglia di Ghira, è l'inizio dell'inferno: un giorno e mezzo di botte, sevizie e stupri da parte di due figli della Roma-bene (Guido e Ghira) e di un loro camerata fascista, Izzo, vero e proprio psicopatico. Angelo Izzo, che più degli altri rimarrà in quella villa, è infatti una persona con gravi problemi psichiatrici che 30 anni dopo - mentre era fuori dal carcere - tornerà a uccidere due donne. Andrea Ghira è il capo della piccola banda, appena uscito di galera per una rapina. La mette in atto non per il denaro ma per accrescere un ego fragile, una ebole indole che da lì a qualche anno annegherà nella droga e nella solitudine. L'altro del gruppo è Gianni Guido, il più viziato e vezzeggiato dei tre. Mella storia macabra del Circeo è il bravo ragazzo: deve tornare a casa per cena. Quindi lascia la villa degli orrori, rientra a Roma e poi a notte a fonda è di nuovo sul luogo del massacro. Come se nulla fosse accaduto. Chiuse in un bagno, nude e infreddolite, terrorizzate, massacrate, senza cibo, abbracciate nel dolore fino alla fine ci sono due ragazzine "acchiappate" per caso, invitate così, per nulla, per un gioco. Due ragazzine semplici, conosciute in un bar dell'Eur, sottoposte a ogni sevizia. Rosaria Lopez fu portata nel bagno al piano di sopra della villa, picchiata e uccisa nella vasca. Morì affogata. Cercano di strangolare Donatella con una cinta. Quando la videro strisciare verso il telefono per chiedere aiuto, la colpirono ancora, e ancora, con una spranga. Lei si finse morta per sopravvivere. Probabilmente un pezzo di lei se ne andò quella notte con Rosaria. Una violenza cieca. Di censo. Tre figli della Roma bene contro due ragazze di un quartiere popolare, la Montagnola. Credendole morte entrambe i fascisti le avvolsero in sacchi di plastica e le caricarono in macchina portandole a casa di Guido. La Colansanti, chiusa nel bagagliaio assieme al cadavere dell'amica, iniziò a gemere sperando che qualcuno riuscisse a sentirla e ad aiutarla. Fu proprio così: un vigile sentì il disperato grido d'aiuto, aprì la macchina e la salvò. Guidi venne subito arrestato, in apparente stato di confusione; poi scattarono le manette per Angelo Izzo. Andrea Ghira non fu mai catturato. Il 29 luglio 1976 arrivò la sentenza di primo grado: ergastolo per Gianni Guido e Angelo Izzo, ergastolo in contumacia per Andrea Ghira. I giudici non concessero alcuna attenuante. Nel gennaio del '77 Guido e Izzo prensero in ostaggio una guardia carceraria e tentarono di evadere dal carcere, senza successo. La sentenza venne modificata in appello il 28 ottobre 1980 per Gianni Guido: ridotta a trent'anni dopo la dichiarazione di pentimento e la accettazione da parte della famiglia della ragazza uccisa di un risarcimento. Guido riuscirà in seguito, nel 1981, a evadere dal carcere di San Giminiano fuggendo a Buenos Aires, dove però verrà riconosciuto e arrestato due anni dopo. In attesa dell'estradizione riuscì ancora a fuggire, ma nel giugno 1994 fu catturato a Panama dove si era rifatto una vita come commerciante di autovetture, venne estradato in Italia. L'11 aprile 2008f u affidato ai servizi sociali dopo 14 anni passati nel carcere di Rebibbia. Ha finito di scontare definitivamente la pena il 25 agosto del 2009 fruendo di uno sconto di pena grazie all'indulto. A fronte di una condanna a trent'anni, ha scontato poco meno di 22 anni dietro le sbarre, essendo fuggito più volte e avendo trascorso 11 anni di latitanza all'estero. E a Melilla, nella sua casa di Costa della Vigna Andrea Ghira, dopo esserei arruolato nella legione straniera spagnola con il falso nome di Massimo Testa de Andrés, sarebbe poi morto in seguito a overdose all'età di 40 anni il 2 settembre 1994. Angelo Izzo nel dicembre 2004, ottenne la semilibertà dal carcere di Campobasso, su disposizione dei giudici di Palermo, per andare a lavorare nella cooperativa "Città futura". Il 28 aprile 2005, Izzo uccise Maria Carmela e Valentina Maiorano moglie e figlia di un boss pentito che aveva conosciuto in carcere. Sta ancora scontando l'ergastolo.
