I had this idea, what if Simon had a female friend who was Betty's sister? Meet (Y/N) Grof, Betty Grof's non-identical twin sister. She, like Simon, was interested in various legends and strange artifacts. During one of her journeys, she found a tiara that gave her plant powers (something like Isabella Madrigal's hat from Encanto). (Y/N) along with Fiona, Cake and Simon went on an adventure and after some time they met an alternate version of Simon - the Winter King. What if Winter King wasn't infatuated with Fiona, but (Y/N)? By the way, (Y/N) is kind of an anomaly that had no right to exist and only exists in one dimension.

Feel free to ignore this for a while, I know that you’re on the mend. In your Encanto Anastasia AU, Julieta had talked about how she was expected to cook for her own wedding feast. Thankfully Agustín and Pepa objected. I’m curious as to how that whole conversation went. How did Alma think that was a good idea?
I tend to imagine the local bakers were like “But…Isn’t Julieta gonna bring healing food?” when Alma initially approached them about the wedding cake, and Alma thought that would be a good idea. Then that spiralled to people assuming Julieta would handle the bulk of things. It’s Julieta! Senorita Perfecta! Sweet, oh so helpful Julieta. The best cook around! Surely she’ll handle things like always.
Agustín and Pepa loudly pointed out how stupid and unfair that was. Quite a few chefs and bakers got the scolding and shaming of their lives. Julieta had to remind herself that she’s the bride and deserves a day to herself (for once)
Which made Alma look at just how much people were expecting Julieta to cook for her own wedding feast, and snap back to “Oh this is ridiculous, let’s just have a few healing cupcakes on standby (for Agustín)” and apologise to Julieta for not realising how many people…weren’t helping.
A rare apology, but very much necessary

I can’t stand people sometimes. There was a post on YouTube about children being excited to see themselves in media, and I wrote a comment about how Encanto and Coco made me feel seen, especially since I look like Maribel and Luisa. There were so many comments accusing me of things I never said, like how I can only relate to characters that look like me and how it’s sad I need to see myself in media to feel validated. I tired to explain that there are many aspects of representation, such as personality traits and morals. I asked why it is all of a sudden a problem when it’s about race and ethnicity. People were also saying how African Americans are over represented. I’m not sure how true that is, but I’m sure they weren’t bitching when media was 100% white, 100% gringo, 100% cis and 100% straight (passing). One person asked when was the last time anyone saw a heterosexual, white couple in a commercial. I didn’t respond, but I thought: literally all the time???. I guess being excited about two movies was too much for them. Others were commenting easy to prove untrue comments like how children don’t care about representation and that it’s adults that put that stuff in their heads. I know I cared as a child. I tried to explain that children, like any other demographic, will have differing opinions and that’s fine. My own brother disagrees with me with some aspects of representation. Once again, that’s fine. And also the link the OP provided was literally a compilation of kids being excited about representation. It’s just nice to see someone who resembles me in a positive light, y’know?
I will agree that Hollywood and other companies feel like they don’t have to put any effort in media if the cast is diverse, and often put in stereotypes. It often gives the impression of positive representation, but isn’t. Also, I do get annoyed when they race/gender swap already established characters, because it gives the idea that minorities aren’t worth the time, effort and creative risk to come up with original characters and stories. However, my comment just mentioned Encanto and Coco, which are entirely original IPs. It just made a well intended, positive post stressful. Also the kids were ADORABLE!
I personally don’t get annoyed with redone IPs with more diverse casts, but I would rather have original works that go into cultures outside of Europe/America.
That being said, some people are so weird when talking about representation and why it matters, because they already have their cake. They’re not gonna understand why other groups might wanna have a slice too and start whinging when it’s given to them, because now they don’t get as much!
Nevermind they got the whole fucking bakery but whatever.

☆Starlight Starbright Family Tree: Explained☆
In their family, it's large but not necessarily complicated, think of the Madrigals from Encanto. Sure it's big, but easy to understand(mostly because of the beginning of the movie and the song that covers it), but on to the actual family, which is the old generation? Who related to who? etc. . .
No more stalling, let's get on it!
Generation 1: Wizards and the Unknown Parents
Not much could be said about them, other than they were the creators of their siblings duos
Stardust(eldest) -> Moonlight(youngest)
Dr. Evilglaze(eldest) -> Aurora Candy(youngest)
Generation 2: Siblings
This is fairly easy to explain. Both siblings on Wizard side went off to marry their lovers
Moonlight marries Sea Fairy
Stardust marries Aurora Candy
But while Aurora Candy married, Evilglaze didn't. In fact, he disliked the idea of marriage, thinking it was "a waste of time." But after seeing his brother and his husband being the absolute power couple they were, had warmed up to idea but chosen to stay under his umbrella of not marrying or finding any romantic relationships
Generation 3: Children and Cousins
As the story goes, when two people love each other very much, they decide to make babies(or in Evilglaze's case, use you DNA to create your own kids through cloning)
Moonlight and Sea Fairy had:
White Lily(eldest) -> Herb(youngest)
Stardust and Aurora had:
Financier(eldest) -> Amber Sugar -> Sugar Glass -> Peppermint -> Milky Way(twins) Moon Rabbit -> Space Doughnut(youngest)
Evilglaze had:
Birthday Cake(eldest) -> Cream Unicorn -> Parfait -> Kouign-amann -> Knight(youngest)
With these arrangements, this makes the kids on those sides of the family cousins to the kids main fam, as well as making Evilglaze, Moonlight and Sea Fairy their aunts and uncles, same goes Aurora and Stardust☆

Prooooompt!! When Sev gets bullied by a group of kids, James is forced to look back and confront his own past behaviour. --- I'd love it if Sirius and Remus are there, too, and I'd love for Lily to get angry at some point. I kind of see this happening during the time where Sev and James' relationship is not so good (which is a very ample period of time, lol), but feel free to modify the idea as you want.

I. First Warning
It happens during his first week at school and Severus is paralysed by terror as he waits by the headmaster’s door. His fears are confirmed when not only Lily but James, too, turn the corner. He is in big trouble. For starters, he had no idea they would call any parents after just one fight. In addition, he has thrown the first punch, so the bruise blossoming on his own cheek had been written off as self-defence and he is the only one facing serious consequences.
He wants to cry. He wants to run. Instead, he digs his trembling fingers in the wooden bench. As soon as Lily is close enough, she crouches down. Her fingers brush against his unscathed cheek.
“Oh, Sev, what happened?”
“I reckon it’s pretty obvious,” James snaps coldly, stopping just behind her.

Hiya, I hope you're doing well. You're not obliged to answer this if it trends on uncomfortable ground, but I was having a discussion with a friend the other day about angst fics and why we read/write them. We were both considering the shared interest of angst to be something like an emotional outlet/release while being overwhelmed with news of the world. With you, being an angst writer, that we both love, would you mind sharing why you write angst and if it really serves as an emotional outlet?
Oh, hello! I'm doing fine, thanks, only a little bit nervous because I have my BA defence in two days and I'm being anxious, ngl.
But about your question. Hmm. I don't think so? I mean... I wrote angst back in 2020, for Star Wars fandom (about two fics, I think), and it wasn't really an emotional release. I just got an idea and went with it.
And with Encanto... Well, it's the same, I guess? Just... Encanto hit me kinda hard because it was released in time my parents were getting divorced and it was kinda shitty in our house, so I craved good family interactions, and I found it in Encanto, and I fell in love with a movie but... My Mirabel's Dead AU was inspired by the scene of Casita's falling because, come on, it was just too good to not be written, the potential was right there. Then... I started having my headcanons, and I started being more present on Tumblr, and I started having ideas or being inspired by others so it kinda evolved from there.
I don't think it's some form of emotional release. I can jump from thinking about angst to thinking about tooth-rooting fluff or crack in a matter of seconds. It's like a switch is turned in my head and my mind just walks in a different direction. Sometimes I'm inspired by other movies, sometimes by songs, sometimes by other fics or books and my imagination just goes wild and feral and it creates all those ideas.
My mind is a funny thing, really. Even I am amazed by the paths it leads me down sometimes lol
But, I think, most of my angsty ideas come from my headcanons. Like. I headcanon Mirabel as a baby that was born prematurely, and that she was a rainbow baby additionally, so there are tons of angsty ideas for Julieta or a cool colours family in general with that hc. Another thing is: even the movie clearly shows that the Madrigals are a dysfunctional family - there's so much pressure, Pepa struggles with her emotions, Bruno has some troubles with mental health and so on, and so on, making it angsty or just even real gives a lot of ideas for fanfics as well.
It's more about what we were given by the creators - and we were given a family where the members love each other very much but they're all hurting in different ways and life's never been just a piece of cake for them. And sometimes an angsty idea is just a real idea - one that happens to people in real life and is not that rare of a situation. So you know...
Besides, writing angst and then fluff or crack makes me balanced and I like balance, so there's also that. I'm a libra, after all, I like being in-between lol

Anna spoke while roaming the shelf filled with the most delicious delicacies at “Bjorgman´s magical cupcake” shop.
“21, alright, funny number.” The young man glanced at her curiously.
“Oh,” Anna bit her lips and pulled up her shoulders, intertwining her hands before her chest, “it´s my birthday tomorrow.”
“Really?!” Kristoff exclaimed with a smile, “well, I´d congratulate, but I was told one should not do that in advance. But I certainly wish you a nice day already!”
“Thank you.” Anna smacked her lips and put a hairstrand behind her ear.
“So, what flavors would you like to order, then?” Kristoff asked, ready to note down Anna´s order, waiting patiently while she continued to study the goods on display.
Anna was almost a daily customer, had moved to their neighborhood a few months ago. And she had captured his interest from the first sight, with her radiant smile, her smiling freckles and her jovial character. Kristoff admired her cheerful manner, truly intrigued by her happy ways even though she had told him that she had come here all alone.
The day, she had entered their shop he was lost from the moment she spoke to him, questioning him about every cake, cookie, or pastry there was. He had patiently explained the various products and drowned in her glinting eyes. From then on, each time Anna came over before her work, or after work and some days even twice… Kristoff tried to get free to chat to her for a moment, even if it meant only to remove her dishes and asking how her day had been. If only he could get a glimpse of her smiling eyes… And his day was saved!
“Kristoff?”
Anna stood before him with a giggle, waving a hand before his face.
Shit – he had completely drifted in his dreams of them strolling hand in hand down the beach…
“Oh, sorry. Got lost in thought… so, have you got an idea of what you like to order?”
“To be honest, I can´t decide. I mean everything here is so delicious. You know what? You put something together for me, yes? It will be great, I´m sure!”
“Alright then!” Kristoff chuckled with a shrug and scribbled something on his notepad, “shall we deliver, since it´s going to be quiet a big box to carry?”
“Oh, that´d be really kind. Hm… tomorrow at 2 pm?”
“2 p.m. it is, fixed.”
Anna was about to leave the shop, but stood for a moment, kneading her fingers before her chest.
“Would you like to come, too? I mean, since I´ve moved here, I see you more often than my own family…”
“Oh…. Hm… thanks, Anna….”
So, she invited him over… of course she was being kind… but what if she liked him…?!

"Sympathy Pain" is a short story, and the sequel will be a short story, too. I don't know how much shorter a story can possibly be and still be considered a story. Why would I write something else in between the two? That would be just as big a task as the sequel I'm already working on. You're asking for an entire cake here, not a crumb.
I honestly don't know what to do anymore. I'm not delaying the sequel out of laziness or anything. I've literally been trying to write it for the past few months. I've been trying really hard, and all I've got so far is a little over 400 words. "Sympathy Pain" is just under 3,000 words, and I don't want it to be much shorter than that, because "Sympathy Pain" is already way too short. I was incredibly lucky to have been able to write it in only a few days, or at all.
I've been a fan of Coco since 2017, and to this day, I still haven't written a fic for it, even though I've been wanting to. You have no idea how much I envy people who can actually write a fanfic. I see stories over 100K words long on Ao3 and I absolutely hate myself for not even being able to meet my goal of 3,000 words for "Sympathy Pain".
Something is obviously wrong with me if I can't write a simple little fic, especially when I see friends on Tumblr frequently posting new one-shots every week. And then people like you make it sound like it's so incredibly easy. Well it's not easy at all for me. I wish I had even a fraction of the energy and talent everyone else has.
Look at my fanfiction.net page. See that long list of fic ideas at the top? I haven't written a single one of those, and they were posted back in 2009. And ever since Coco and Encanto came out, I've got many, many more ideas to add to that list.
For all I know, I may never finish the sequel to "Sympathy Pain." I want to finish it, I really, really do, but I can't even begin to understand how I'm supposed to do it, or how everyone else does it so easily. I suck at story writing. I always have. I just got lucky with "Sympathy Pain". 😢

That Dark!Madrigals Hot Fuzz Sorta-AU I Keep Mentioning
As I’m not sure I’ll ever actually write it: it’s basically the plot of the film Hot Fuzz with Mirabel as Nicholas Angel and Antonio as Danny Butterman only they’re not cops they’re a young woman who has studied psychology at university and a child who can talk to animals. TL;DR the Encanto is the best and most peaceful and charming village in all of Colombia and the Madrigals do everything they can to keep it that way. This means helping to clean up after nasty accidents which sometimes befall the citizens resulting in their tragic and ironically gruesome deaths. Mirabel comes home from college and...has questions.
Here’s the entire outline minus “spoilers” which is hilarious because again I have no idea if I’m ever writing this. Note that if I DO write the thing there are even odds your fave will be a stone-cold killer (except Antonio, I promise nothing bad will ever happen to this precious child):
The Hot Fuzz AU No One, Not Even I, Asked For
CHAPTER 1 - It Would Appear the Heavens Have Opened
Mirabel comes home from uni in Medellín and starts to realize that things may not be as perfect as she thought. The town seems happy and her family is ecstatic over a fourth generation receiving a gift. Everyone is eating cake. There’s the usual fixation on everything needing to be perfect, but from her studies Mirabel is starting to wonder if this is healthy.
CHAPTER 2 - It’s Just The One Hippo Actually
There’s been a hippo sighting. No time to worry, though, because Camilo and Antonio want to show her around town and drag her to the cantina to chill out before things get weird. Meet a bunch of townies, most of whom are about to die.
CHAPTER 3 - Decaffeinated?
…starting with the starring actors in the play they’re putting on to celebrate the upcoming ceremony, who get their heads lopped off. Mirabel is horrified, everyone else thinks it’s ~just an accident~. Some vines get trimmed by the river that shouldn’t be, Antonio, Mirabel, and Isabela investigate.
CHAPTER 4 - Nasty Way To Go
A local businessman is blown up. Accidentally. Mirabel grows increasingly concerned and starts throwing around the M (murder) word, Antonio reassures her that all is well. Then a journalist is crushed and tensions rise, but Julieta promises her daughter everything is fine. Nothing is fine at all.
CHAPTER 5 - You Don’t Know How To Switch Off!
Mirabel’s use of the M word becomes an issue among the family. Her mother and Tio Felix do their best to reassure her, Abuela is in full denial mode, Antonio tries to see her side but can’t quite get there, and despair starts to creep in. The village florist has An Accident.
CHAPTER 6 - This Shit Just Got real
Mirabel absolutely loses it, has a confrontation with Luisa, and makes her way to Castia’s basement. Confrontation when she reemerges! She is murdered by Antonio’s jaguar.
CHAPTER 7 - Judge Judy and Executioner
Or not, because Antonio is the best twelve-year-old protagonist ever. He and Mirabel formulate a plan to sort this absurd story out. Who can they trust? Who must they stop?
CHAPTER 8 - The Greater Good
Mirabel, Antonio, & whatever allies they’ve acquired kick so much ass. People might die! Horribly! But at the end of the day justice will be served.
Chapter 9 - A Hell Of A Lot Of Paperwork
It’s all over, OR IS IT? One last villain needs to be put out of commission, and then an epilogue can be enjoyed.
