Overwatch currently has a theme event with an alternate universe where Talon and Overwatch characters have swapped (There's even a voice line where Widow hisses at Tracer that one of the newer heroes (Ramattra) to Talon in the game 'only wanted peace' clearly swapping their cinematic roles). Obviously they're just doing it 'for fun' with no convincing narrative reason for doing so (maybe they've said something to this effect but I haven't caught it and don't care; it wouldn't be convincing coming from them).
This is all to say, if you were asked to write out how the characters you play with ended up on the other side, how would you go about it? (I'm curious about either/or the entire side changing swaps or just personal character profiles on how they individually might have ended up on the other side.)
Your versions of these characters are so much more interesting, so I just had to bring this idea to you and see what content I could squeeze out =P
Oh wow, what a terrible idea! But so fun, let's do this.
Fareeha I don't think would be so hard to do this to, IF you got to her before she had decided that Overwatch was the correct course of action. Fareeha is rigid, and inflexible, and if you convinced her that the only way to bring order to the world, to make the world fall into place in a way that made sense, was to join Talon, i think she would do it. But I think you would have to get her young.
I would love to believe she's spiteful enough to join Talon because her mother blocked her from joining Overwatch, but I don't actually think that's true, i think Fareeha is much too principled for that shit. So maybe I actually do think it's harder, I just think that IF she decided this, it would be damn near impossible to deradicalize her. Once she believes a thing, she believes it to the bone.
Lena. If I were going to turn Lena, I would not have Winston be the one to find her, take care of her, and watch over her when she got ripped out of time. he can find her, even, but if they hadn't had the chance to bond, if she'd woken up and she's disabled now, and her father is dead, and they deliberately hid the truth about what happened to her, and she's being kept from everything she loves, and she feels ALONE...I can see her taking any bargain from Talon, and being so furious with Overwatch that she is going to burn the whole thing to the ground.
I do think that, unlike Fareeha, she would come around back later and think "Hm. Might've put me foot in it, there." But the line for me is very clear with her because unlike Fareeha, I can seeing her putting immense weight into her personal anger and hurt.
Winston is the easiest. Wherever Lena goes, he will follow, after they connect and bond. He'll think it's stupid, he'll think they're actively doing the wrong thing, but if Lena goes, he won't know how to oppose her (I do not think this is a good trait of his)
Angela, she might be the hardest. Given what Talon is, and given what I think about her personal moral code and background, I'm having a lot of trouble carrying her over. I have her turn on Overwatch, and think it maybe shouldn't be resurrected, but for Angela, the enemy of my enemy is not my friend. That's not how she works fundamentally as a person. She can have a big ol hating Overwatch party, and hate Talon on top of it. Angela Ziegler has two hands.
So i don't know, for her.
Hana, well she spends so much of her life sort of out of Talon's reach that it would be difficult for them to find her enough to make it happen. I mean, maybe she's fucking pissed about magic only being real in japan, apparently, or something like that, but by and large I don't think we've seen a lot of Talon's presence in east asia.
If I set that aside, I can see them appealing to her at JUST the right moment, when she's tired of being "D.va! Product!" and wants to really have a command of her own life and not be Korea's top PR character. This is something I think is fun to have her struggling with anyway, and when i get back to writing more I intend to delve into it. So tempting her with the idea of being Hana Song, of never having to blow bubblegum and pose like she's a naive 14 year old ever again, of being a true force to be reckoned with and allowed to be just that? I could see her taking the brass ring.
Remind me some other time and i'll try to do the other way round!

The Mosley Review: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

Remember back in the mid 2000's where ever major studio film had a summer blockbuster that was filled to the brim with an insane amount of nonsensical action which was fueled by CGI and about 2 gallons of Redbull? One film in particular comes to mind that was the major culprit of having an over abundance of CGI and a very comical attempt at a story. G.I. Joe: the Rise of Cobra was that film and the studio tried their hardest to make up for with a more "grounded" sequel I guess. I hoped that no film would ever take the same route as that film. Well here we are with a another film that prioritizes demolishing your senses with an insane amount of sonic and visual noise to distract you from the abysmal storytelling. The DCEU as we know it comes to an end with this film and they do send it off with a huge amount of action, but showcased why it was failing. The lack of consistent tone and character development was appalling and boredom set in heavily halfway through the film.

Jason Mamoa returns as Arthur Curry / Aquaman and honestly, it was 90 percent Jason having fun and about 10 percent Arthur's story. Don't get me wrong, its always fun watching the man work, but I wish he matured the character into the King of Atlantis instead of the fun surfer dad. Amber Heard returns as his wife Mera and she was good for the amount of time she was on screen. She gets to play in the action, but not much else character development wise. You know those type of characters that are written in to be the moral compass and also the very cheesy comic relief that has an overused catchphrase? Well, Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin was exactly that character and he was great in the opening but after that, I couldn't stand him. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II returns as David Kane / Black Manta and for the most part he was good and menacing. His motivation for vengeance knows no bounds and that's really all he has to do in the film. There really wasn't anywhere for him to take the character or evolve him in anyway. He was whittled down to a cliche in so many ways and I felt sorry for him. Now the one character that actually had substance and had the best performance was Patrick Wilson as Orm Marius. He understood the film he was in and had the most character growth. I loved his chemistry with Arthur and I wish the film was about just the two of them. The path of redemption for Orm was way more interesting and sometimes hilarious as he gets a taste of surface life. There is a great emotional scene with him toward the final act that really solidifies the brotherhood between him and Arthur that was the gold standard I wish the film reached.

The soundtrack was fun and served as a driving force during the majority of the action and comedic scenes. Composer Rupert Gregson-Williams did what he could to underscore the scattered emotion in the film and his score during the massive action set pieces was good. I'm all for fun and action fueled stories, but when it is earned and the story calls for it first. This film felt like it had so many people throwing in different ideas to spice up a dish that didn't need it and now its just a soggy mess that people might say they liked, but don't love. I didn't hate this film for it is watchable, but its definitely one of the worst ways to end a cinematic universe. I truly wish the same amount of love and care went into the finale of this universe and it breaks my heart to see so much potential wasted on a cheap and rushed sequel. Even the mid credits scene was unnecessary. Let me know what you thought of the film or my review in the comments below. Thanks for reading!

One of the many things I hate about Security Breach is the Blob,it existence is already a giant can of worms (idk if they even gonna explain it in the DLC) but what really frustrates me is it's design
The animatronics masks that they choosed are so questionable,the only one that make sense is Puppet since they were in the previous pizzaria location which was hiding underground in the Pizzaplex,the rest of the animatronics's head are confusing,Og!Bonnie and Og!Chica are impossible since the two of them where destroyed by William in the "follow me" minigame and are in the FNAF 1 location far away from the Pizzaplex,Mangle is also impossible since the Fazbear frights location was burned and again said location is far away from the Pizzaplex,and Funtime Freddy and Circus Baby are again impossible since their body parts are in the scooping room where the location is far away from the Pizzaplex
If I have to change the blob's entire design then I would remove the five animatronics's head mentioned and replace them with either the Rockstars or the Mediocre Melodies or the Scarps or the Posh animatronics

In fact, I don't think the Blob was the original plan at all. Because he doesn't match his teaser from the Princess Quest minigame.

From the limbs and characters and design, to the story context and the importance of Princess Quest to SB, I think it's clear that this amalgam WAS supposed to be the Blob... So why was it changed?
Well, either they carved so much out of the story that they took the easy route and worked in a half-hearted throwback to FFPS to hide behind cheap lore bait and say it's a story.
Or, and I think more likely, they got story mandates somewhere in production that suddenly decided that William Afton had to appear as Springtrap, to hammer in the point that he 'always comes back' by having him return in his hashtag iconic rabbit design (that looks nothing like his last two rabbit designs).
And then they just worked in the Blob because it was there.
The Blob has no story presence. No identity. No reason for being there beyond just being there. It doesn't even get a reveal good enough to creep people out. It is a total waste. Just a hunk of lame callbacks trying to raise the animatronic count up.
...And the funny thing is... I still stand by the fact that one change could've suddenly and violently made The Blob's impact be so much greater. One change could've absolutely tore apart FNAF's storyline and made it so much more painful and agonizing.
Gregory sees a CINEMATIC glimpse of The Blob before he comes into the office, but it doesn't make its full introduction until later into the Burntrap boss fight... A fight that I imagine would be more like GoldenDiamond's Alternate Burntrap fight (check it out).
There is a tape player on the desk, but it doesn't come on until a cinematic starting the final phase of the boss fight. It starts playing through Henry's final tape at the end of FFPS when suddenly a tentacle breaks through the ceiling and crushes the tape player, then turns on Gregory.
Now Gregory can see the Blob on the cameras, slowly moving in towards the office... and while it does, we start hearing more of Henry's tape playing, but no longer from the tape player. It is echoed from everywhere, following the metal tentacles, and the longer the boss fight goes on, the more distorted it becomes.
Henry's words start getting replaced and confused. Henry starts repeating lines that other animatronics have said. Henry starts pleading for Charlie to open the door so he can come in.
The Blob is Henry. In his attempt to end everything, he himself has become a hulking manifestation of his guilt. He cannot control himself, he cannot rationalize his actions. In a twist of fate, Henry has become something much more dangerous than Afton.
And when the Blob finally finished what remains of Afton after the fire, it isn't a victory. The audience is just left with the looming horror that comes with the realization of what this means. Everyone's free, but Henry's still here, keeping it alive. His own wound bleeding out onto others. He's now the poison infecting Freddy's.
...But that's just my thoughts! I mean, just because I like those big emotional feels and story payoffs doesn't mean everybody does. ;)

Why Not Film?
I mean like filming on film stock. Because there is a film grain/noise... (overlay? mask? idk man i'm not an editor I forgot my terms) texture to parts of the video that I think is supposed to evoke the idea of a security camera (I would have LOVED some high-angle shots to drive this home but oh well) BUT could also just be representing that it's old/in the past because it is also in black and white.

the texture is especially evident on San's face. I think they just put a noise filter over this part, which creates grain that you'd find on old film
So why not just film on film stock? It's expensive and cumbersome my guy. they filmed this between schedules like.... digital editing and stuff is just so much easier.
Which leads me to the next section:

I fucking love this effect which WKW first did by filming (on stock) at 8 frames per second (fps) and then repeating the same frame 3 times to create that streakiness. Filming at a low frame rate then playing it at a higher one (usually 24 fps, which I'm guessing is also what they used for this trailer, 24-32(ish) fps is the cinematic standard) creates fast motion. This process is called step-printing.
The subject(s) would stay still/ move very slowly while filming to give the effect that everything is moving fast around them while they're normal speed. Super cool, gives sense that time is passing around them and/or isolation from others, which is what I think is intended here since HJ and the teezers are isolated from society as they're trying to fight against the government. sweet sweet storytelling through style. OBSESSED!

But also: K-Pop in general is OBSESSED with WKW's style. I will make a list of MVs that rep that eventually, but off the top my head, Mamamoo's mv for wind flower is inspired by Fallen Angels. The color grading, cinematography, the scene references etc.
Ateez and Metropolis
Now for something completely different: Before I get into it I really want to emphasize how fucking instrumental cinema was in globalization, because when cinema first became an industry it TRAVELED like TRAVELED. and resulted in a mix of styles since the fucking like 1920s. AMAZING
Okay so speaking of 1920s, let's get into IT! German Expressionism was a film movement that was born out of post-WW1 Germany and society's need to express (ha) the horrors of war they went through and since hyperinflation fucked up the economy so much, film companies were like "spend whatever" and blew budget on super elaborate film sets and facilities.
Expressionism is focused on the physical and really emphasizing features and such. It's hyperbolic as show in the screen shot from The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari:

The subject's face is deepened by the make-up and lighting and shows their state of mind, a mindless corpse being controlled by another power (think Master/Puppet, but we don't have time to rly get into post WW1 Ger's anxieties)
It's also hyperbolic, as I said, which sometimes takes form in the sets. Specifically the establishing shots. These would traditionally be miniatures or painted, as they are easy and you can see how they're similar:

Notice anything? The lines maybe? Perspective? Symmetry? These are all qualities seen in German Expressionism which I will get into in a momement but first. Let me explain why I use Metropolis as an example. In short, they already referenced it in Guerrilla:

Finding the First Gay Kiss - Diary of a Big Ole Gay 11.25.22
Hey Whores Realized I haven't given you an update recently. The short answer is I was planning on watching D.W.Griffinth 3 hour Epic Intolenrance tonight so I was putting a kabash on the movie watching. So instead I've been catching up on television because I am too lazy to actually read. Big News I actually really like Cabinet of Curiosities.

so let me go over some of the stuff I've seen in the meantime.

Judith of Bethulia (1914) dir. D.W. Griffinth
So this movie is not nearly as gay as I was promised. The main reason why this showed up is because there is a nerdist article thats like UwU the Earliest Gayest Movies ever which should actually be congradulated it has some rare pepes on there, (is that problamatic???), however this one is the furthest reach of gay shit ever. Essentially this inclusion in the list is because of a pet theory by Susan Stryker which was included in the documentary Disclosure(2020). I think I have a quote here something.
"There's a claim," Stryker says, "that this is one of the first films that we know of where a [director's] cut in the film is used to advance the story. And there's a kind of, like, trans, or, you know, gender nonbinary character who is kind of circulating around the cut in the narrative. It's almost like the figure of the 'cut trans body,' the eunuch who's been castrated or emasculated, who is a 'cut figure', presides over the invention of the cinematic cut."
and the Eunach in its self is absolutely a queer icon, (in this sense literally iconography, as in a mythic trope), it presents us an intersex body, a masculine form that is asexual, a person that lives in between the hedgemonic binary of masculine and feminenin. The Eunach also has negative connotations as the Nance trope plays into this idea of Sexual Inversion in men being non-sexual and emmasculated. I don't think its wrong for the a eunach to be considered queer at the same time, is the mere presence of a queer coded character necessarily the watershed moment we should pretend it is?
The Nance character presided for decades in vauldville and burlesque circles and it was often not played in a positive light the nance or fairy act in vaudville was a far cry from the gender subversion of Julian Eltinge and other female impersanations of the time, it was in no less words a form of sexual minstraly, presenting the sexual invert as degenerate, unmanly, and frivolous. Tbh Its not necessarily and aspect of representation that I want to respect or cherish.
However at this point I feel that I have got my ego involved and made this representation about my own sexuality and pain. In all seriousness the supposed representation is presented as being trans, non-binary or intersex and while this film did not provide me much queer utility I would be loath to disregard that for somebody somewhere they felt seen by this charater or this aspect of queer lens interpretation. it just wasn't for me.

The ABC of Love (1916) dir. Magnus Stifter
Its Die Asta!
As we have covered on this blog Asta Nielsen was known for her boyish charm and her unflappable stage present. She was also beyond unafraid to go full butch in her work and many of her storys were incredible queer in a lot of her films. Truly a bisexual icon.

in this one we see Die Asta in a classic shot of her pressed against a wall of flowers in this case sittig with her lap dog, a boudour doll, and reading a book of romantic fancys. it should also be noted that shes coded as a big younger in the film around her late teens, y'know a young coquete.

"UwU daddy I want to get railed by a tall dark and handsome foreigner"
"sure doll, let me find some fuck boy who wants to get in that snatch. BRB"

and Die Asta pulls a Danger Girl and serves us a full butch fantasy. She literally wears a whole ass wig and shapewear to serve some masc tuxedo action. and of course as in any of these "role-reversal" comedies she fucking slays. Apparently serving masc means you smoke fatties and fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccccckkkkkkk. this movie involves die asta throwing two DTF women onto her man and saying
"Be a Man, Frank"
Imagine your wife just wanted you to cuck her while she serving butch top energy.

this movie ends with her father gaslighting her into thinking for limp wrist no bitches husband is cheating on her but actually THE GODDAMN HUSSY is just the porter in full drag. I also love in these stories nobody gets clocked, its always a seemless transformance where everyone absolutely asumes this person is the gender they present as. Honestly kinda nice.

Vingarne (The Wings) (1916) dir. Mauritz Stiller
So this is one of the first adapatations of the 1902 Mikael by Herman Bang. it is also mostly lost with the available version being a fixup version from 1985 which used production stills and intertitles as a way of feeling in the gaps in the story. There is still 20 minutes of this film that are lost forever or at least to the best of our knowledge. A pretty common narrative in early cinema, there are a lot of early cinema works whose tape was not properly archived or literally destroyed for censoreship or just to get the trace amounts of silver nitrate that was imprinted during the film production process.
The movie itself is the story of a gay artist who falls in love with his muse, a grecian youth type. The film falls into this sort of pedarast adjacent storyline, where you have this older sexual experience man and his younger protege/boytoy. Narratively in the story he is also the adopted son of the artist but as I mentioned on DoestheDogDie.com this doesn't necessarily mean that this love story is incestious as Same-Sex Adoption was a thing at the time.
Basically the young muse decides to get some pussy and leaves the poor old artist to die of sadness or some shit.
This movie is kinda hard to follow and you kinda have to ask yourself if you want to add DDLB and fickle Bi's to your pantheon of early queer cinema.
On a side note i am watching Dad Takes A Fishing Trip(2009) by Tim Kinkade which deals a lot with Daddy kinks so I have been kinda exploring a lot of the eroticism around this type of age gap relationship. So there is that.

PLAYING: Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus

Great Series! So sad it's died out (come on Sony). But I'm excited to share it with my children!
I rented this game back when it was the only Sly available. I enjoyed its gentle and not so gentle nods to Metal Gear Solid. I hated the cocky main character (American white men were really into cocky protagonists in the 80s, 90s, and 00s). But the game was good. Later when the HD remake for PS3 was released, I grabbed the whole trilogy and thoroughly enjoyed it! Sly 2 is my favorite though.
I was excited to play Jak and Daxter for my kids. I downloaded the free PC remake that some folks had created. But it's annoying to set up my laptop with my TV. Knowing that I had the Jak Trilogy for PS3, I decided to see if my PS3 and controllers even still worked. they did! But while having lunch, I put on a Sly Cooper playthrough on YouTube and my kids were HOOKED! I offered to play it for them and they were super excited. I guess Jak can wait!
What I remember from the first Sly Cooper is that it's the hardest and most linear. But when I started playing it this time, it felt so great. It's truly a great game and well thought-out and designed. There's some cheap deaths, and the bosses are too hard--but it's really fun otherwise.
Sly Cooper is a great example of Sony's ability to develop unique, original games with great production value. I think for PS2, Sony had three big platformer series: Jak, Ratchet and Clank, and Sly Cooper. What was great about these three is that they were accessible, well produced, charming, and all very unique from each other. Jak 2 & 3 had a little crossover with ratchet due to guns being introduced, but Jak was a action platformer-slash-open world, while Ratchet was much more of a level-based shooter. Sly stood out as a platforming stealth game. It's weird to think a whole game could be built around stealth, but be action-packed and accessible.
Graphically, the game looks pretty good due to the art style. Much of the 2D images (loading screens and cinematics) feature jagged, hand-drawn art. It looks extremely stylized, but then it meshes well with the blocky graphics. So instead of seeing low polygon counts as a limitation, it was asset to the art style. Clever.
This game develop had made a platformer before, but I don't think it was to this scale. They've nailed it. I was paying attention to the level design. For the most part, they take smallish, cramped spaces (such as a single room in a casino) but craft out a level path that criss-crosses across the space to create a decent level experience. One level has Sly scaling the sides of buildings and cat walks and bouncing off AC units. It feels like the level goes on, and on (in a good way) but it's really just a circle, and sly is traveling along the inner edge. This allowed the designers/artists to use a small set of background assets to create an immersive experience. As a game designer, I appreciate this type of design. It makes the level feel open, big, and like a real space, while preventing the player from getting lost.
I like the first bit of levels, the constant rain makes it very moody. The second set takes plays in a Vegas like city. I'm always less thrilled about this one. Rocky deserts just don't excite me much, and it's less atmospheric. I think the level takes place in the day, which feels less sneaky. Still, some good, clever level design.
I love how enemies have flashlights and are on guard paths. It really plays into the sneaking around. Unfortunately, Sly is often defeated in a single hit. It helps create a sense of danger and real consquence for not being sneaky--but it makes a wrong move very punishing. Also, Sly can't swim. So there's a lot of cheap deaths associated with Sly not landing a jump he should have and drowning as a result. Luckily I've unlocked the "water safety" skill that no longer damages Sly for falling in water. Goood thing because the swamp level is filled with precarious jumps!
Somewhat interesting from a story point, every bully gets a background. What I noticed about the bosses (did I say bully?) is that they were often bullied as a child or are overcompensating for something. I wish the game could have taken on a more "healing" approach to the villains, where they deal with their psychology issues and make amends. But Sly ain't got time for that. He's too busy being cocky.
I'm having fun replaying this for my kids. At one point they lost interest and went to their rooms. I got sad. I wanted to keep playing, but I didn't want to leave them behind. Hopefully they'll want to come back to this.

So then...
If what I read online is correct, before becoming a Nightmare guy (in the books), Pitch was a guardian of fears or something. Then, Pitch heard something from what he was guarding and he thought his daughter (mother nature) got trapped on the other side of the gate he was guarding. He opened the door, the darkness overcame him and he became Pitch Black.
Mother Nature (to be portrayed by Anastasia) is safe. It was the darkness playing mind games with him that got him to open the gate.
So I’m not sure if this is the books or if it’s fanfiction writing, but yeah, that’s the plot here.
To that extent, Dimitri guards the gates. Sometimes, there are tiny minions who manage to sift through so his job is to track them and return them to their prison.
Also, a special message to my friend @hamish-fanfic-fangirl​ for being my source of encouragement for a long time, so far as fanfic writing is concerned.
It may just be a hobby, but it’s a hobby that keeps me sane during the pandemic. So I was frustrated for the longest time (frustrated-writer-skyeknight, lol, that’s me) when I’ve been stuck in blockage. 
Now don’t get me wrong.
I’ll write my fanfics regardless of the attention of Kudos or comments or Hits. I write the stories I want to read my self anyway. No one else wants to read it? That’s fine. I do.
But that being said, there’s only so much I can do to push myself in wanting to write when the words won’t come. Still, I don’t feel the need to rush it since no one seems to keen on letting me know that they want an update, so whatever.
Though you never demanded for updates, and you read my works without an expectation for it to be (which I appreciate a lot), that’s exactly what it does though. Just one person, appreciating the works and efforts of putting ideas into writing. You share my hype in the stories I’m writing, and just one line, one word, or one comment from you brightens my day.
I don’t think I can ever fully express how much that means to, and this is just an attempt of it. Because everyone deserves to know that they’re appreciated, and you made me feel that way and I hope this expresses that you’re appreciated too.

What in the name of the Moon are Sprites?

Who were they before they became aides?
Hiccup - Curiosity Sprite
Jack - Fun Sprite 
Jim - Creativity Sprite
Dimitri - Cunning Sprite
Astrid - Bravery Sprite
Jamie - Imagination Sprite
You get the idea.
Sprites, in a sense, are invisible entities. For humans, they act as “conscience” of sorts.
For example, since Astrid is a Sprite of Bravery, she inspires kids to do the most daring and sometimes dangerous antics. She uses her powers to make sure they’re not injure though.
Hiccup is a Curiosity Sprite, he affects children nearby and hence, they ask questions a lot.
Kid: Why is the sky blue now but orange at the afternoon?
Parent: Because it’s morning now.
Kid: Why is it only blue in the morning?
Parent: Because the sun is up high.
Kid: Why....
When Jim’s nearby, he inspires the children’s creativity. (Drawing, Crafts, Story telling, simple token presents for parents, etc.) Without guidance from an adult, children would be able to make sand castles on their own.
Jamie’s presence actually lets the children live in their imagination, although outsiders looking in won’t be able to see it. Kid playing the floor is lava? Then they actually see that the floor is lava when he’s around. Clouds look like a castle? Boom. It is a castle.
At first, his influence is perceived negatively. When he’s around, the naughty side of children arises causing them to create mischief. But that is also part of being a child; doing wrong things or making mistakes to learn from them. Dimitri needs the assistance of other Sprites to ensure that the development of this characteristic doesn’t get worse.
Now Jack, well, he’s a Sprite too. Unlike the others though, he isn’t contented in being invisible and never to be seen. He just does his own thing. Instead of being intentional in his influence of inspiring fun out of children, he just does what he wants. He’s not causing harm though, so the Guardians are fine leaving him on his own.
That is, until Manny, with Anastasia, spoke to the Guardians to make an important announcement... She has chosen Jack Frost as her Aide. Which shock them to the core, because Mother Nature has never needed an Aide.
Why did he need one now? They need all the Aides, including Jack, to redeem Pitch and return him to being Kozmotis.

Note: They shrink in size when crossing to the human dimension. But in the Supernatural dimension, they're real size. So when Dimitri goes hunting for Minions, he can sense when they're nearby when at the human dimension. When he senses that, he crosses back to the supernatural dimension, while at the same area in Earth to confront the minions.
Think of it as... A fight going on around you but you just don't see it. They would protect humans from the darkness, and it's all happening around you. You just don't see it, because of the barrier.
Relationship dynamics at the start

In cinematic parallel, let’s say... It would be their first onscreen appearance
Jack talks and spends time with Hiccup whenever the Aide was on a job nearby. They race, for fun. Hiccup on his dragon, and Jack using his control on the Winds to help him speed up his flight.
Jim usually comes along with Dimitri whenever he had to make runs to recapture darkness minions. Also, in case they encounter children during Dimitri’s patrol, Jim’s Creativity influence combats Dimitri’s so they ensure that the mischief of the children don’t get overboard.
Jamie shares all his experiences and what imagination he had children feel as if they lived through with Astrid. With his ability, he can also conjure up illusions. This helps Astrid train her combat skills, with Jamie’s assistance it makes for a useful simulation.
The aides all have certain combat specs. Dimitri does have the job to capture darkness minions, but he can’t be everywhere all at once. He can teleport though. So, while waiting for Dimitri, if they encounter creatures of darkness, they keep them at bay until Dimitri arrives.

to celebrate The Crimson Moon reaching 30k as of this morning, i thought that i would share the progression of the opening lines of the book, and talk a bit about how the book has grown and changed in the last year! on july 27th it will be exactly a year since i first started writing this and wow i’m not getting emotional you are aha whaaaat

draft one: please oh god don't judge me

ok i'm not going to talk negatively about my past writing because it got me to where i am today but. [marge i am looking away meme] if you can't tell, i wrote this when i was going through the existential crisis phase of uni and just wanted to live in the woods, i say like i would not currently move to the woods in a heartbeat asdklfja
at the time that i wrote this i was really happy with it because the writing was fun and, as a result, easy! at this point i was just writing in my down time from uni, and i didn't know what the plot was or what my plans were for the book as a whole. because this was just something i did in my down time, i think my writing took on more of a conversational, stream-of-consciousness tone, and that's part of what made this draft (or start of a draft, i only got like 12k in i think) so easy to write. but eventually, as the plot started to come together and i started to gain more inspiration from sff writers as a whole, i realized that this book wasn't heading in the direction i wanted it to. it wasn't just something to do in my free time at that point, it had taken on a life of it's own. and thus, draft two began.
draft two: electric boogaloo

ngl these lines still slap and i love them. there are definitely things i would change, but these lines will be in the current draft of the book, albeit not in the first chapter and altered slightly. when i started this draft, i didn't have an outline but i had a very clear, cinematic image of how i wanted this chapter to go. i think having that before i started writing helped a looooot, both in terms of prose and just being able to convey aspects of the setting/character in the first paragraph. as i continued writing this draft though, i realized that some of the character arcs didn't make sense or were getting a bit messy, and that, based on the story i wanted to tell, it didn't make sense to start with Xalia. while there are six main pov characters in this book, Vanna really is the main character and i wanted that to be clear.
draft three: this time it's personal actually good

these are the current first lines of the book, and honestly my favorite so far! starting off with Vanna rather than Xalia definitely gives the book a different feel, and it's one that's more true to the vision i have for it. in my opinion, this opening does a much better job of setting up some of the book's themes, which admittedly i'm still figuring out lol. grief and loss are major components of all the character arcs, and are integral to the plot itself. switching to present tense has also been a LIFE CHANGER for me. it's funny because, on the second stab at this book, i kept slipping into present tense, but forcing myself back to past tense because i thought present tense sounded weird. turns out it only sounded weird because it was surrounded by past tense, and now that i've written 3 chapters in present tense i can solidly say that this is the way the book was meant to be written. it just feels like my book now, and i'm so happy with where it's headed!
i also made an outline for this draft of the book, and while i've already deviated from it somewhat to work out plot holes or increase ~foreshadowing~ in certain scenes, getting all of the events out of my head and onto paper has really allowed me to just write because i know that i have a document to refer back to if i get stuck on where the story is headed. making the outline also really pushed me to think about character backstories, most of which i had previously established, but now they've changed a lot to fit together more cohesively and integrate with the plot more clearly. i've also changed a lot of the character designs, and as a result of changing the appearances and backstories of a lot of the characters, i feel a lot closer to them and the story itself. the characters have well and truly taken on a life of their own, and now i'm kind of just along for the ride, telling their stories and loving every second of it!
ALSO!! the last big change with this draft, which i just implemented literally this morning and am so so sooooo excited about, is having first person referral, present tense mini-chapters/interludes! it gives the book a really unique sound and ties into the plot really nicely i think! i feel like the structure and form of the story are finally tying into the story itself and it's driving me insane a little bit askdfjka
as of right now i'm not ready to reveal who the pov and referral characters are in these chapters, because i'm debating between a couple ways of doing things and if i go one way that would end up being a pretty big spoiler! that being said, i got really hyped up about it earlier today and rambled in the spoilers section of my server so if you do want that sweet sweet spoilers content....join my server! ;)
also. i hope u all know that i almost deleted that first snippet about ten different times but transparency in writing and all that, i really do want to show how much this book has grown and changed! even if it's going to cause me immense psychic damage to type up the image description for this but i digress

I lay on my back, gazing up at the sky. The weather was absolutely perfect. I could hear the crickets singing, the birds chirping, the brook babbling, all that good poetic shit.
I came out here often, just to get away and pretend like I wasn't a part of the fuck-all society I lived in. How could humans be so ignorant? We live in a world with this, I gestured expansively in my mind at the field around me, how can we not see how beautiful it is? How perfect it is? How imperfect we are by comparison?

Xalia strode down the marble halls, the soft leather of her shoes meeting each tile with a cacophony of echoes. This was not the first, second, hundredth time that she had walked these passageways, and yet the chill she felt when contained within their depths never seemed to subside. The looming corridors and billowing curtains always seemed to hide sinister whispers that breathed down her neck and pricked at the tips of her ears. Perhaps it was the High Council, with their unnerving masks and owlish eyes, seeming to know and perceive all — or perhaps it was the knowledge that every time she stalked back towards the exit, she would carry the weight of another’s life on her shoulders, a life that she had to take.

The Mosley Review: Worst Films of 2023

So here we are. 2023 has ended and what a year of disappointments it has been. This year we saw alot of franchises return. A few in particular wanted one last chance to redeem themselves and in my opinion should've stayed in the shadows of their past glory. We also saw the end of a cinematic universe and how messy that was handled. Not all was bad though. We got to see a film with a fun concept that went all out on its gory promise and well, actually, it was pretty forgettable. I'm not gonna beat around the bush anymore. Without further ado, I give you my list of the worst films of 2023. As always, if you want a more detailed review of all the films on my list, just click the title of each film. First up......

Cocaine Bear: Talk about a wild story that was sort of true. The thought of a cocaine fueled bear on a rampage in a forest set in the 80's seemed like a ludicrous idea reserved for the back corner of the low budget horror section of Blockbuster. Well it was exactly that and for about 30 minutes, the idea was fun and had the right tone. Somewhere along the many lines of snortables, the film took a wrong turn and had no idea what it was trying to be. The tone was shifting from drug recovery to family comedy to romantic comedy to hardcore monster movie and so much more. It lost its appeal really quickly and failed to stay in the pocket it initially carved out. Such wasted potential.

The Marvels: And so Marvel Studios attempt to give their one overpowered and unlikeable character a second chance to be liked and actually have some form a story and character development. This time she had 2 additional heroes to come with her on this action packed romp and for the most part, it worked. Where the film truly failed is its terribly written plot that could've been summed up in less than 20 minutes and the fact that they made their main hero the villain without any sense of repentance for her actions against an entire civilization. There was an emotional core there that should’ve been fully explored and not drowned out by the needless action scenes and unnecessary musical sequence. The real standout of the film was Iman Vellani as Ms Marvel and I hope for the future that she takes the lead from now on. Everyone else in the film felt like an after thought, but at least the chemistry between the 3 leads saved the film from being a complete disaster. Speaking of disasters, don't get me started on the god awful mid credits scene.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny: There was a small chance that this beloved franchise could rise from the ashes of the fourth entry and truly lay Indiana’s fedora to a satisfying rest. You had a great director, Harrison Ford dawning the fedora one last time and all the hopes of us Indi fans. What did we get? A over budgeted, character inflated, time traveling mess of a finale that spits in the face of what made those original 3 films magical. It wasn't about the action set pieces and the over use of CGI, but the fact that it was small, simple and real. There was a goal that had its other worldly properties whether it was the Arc of Covenant or The Holy Grail, but it felt more real than the finale of this film. What was really heartbreaking was the fact that once again our hero become sad, old, broken down loner with everyone in his life leaving him to rot in silence. It happened to Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and now Indiana Jones. This film introduced one of the worst characters in the franchise and one that I hated with a passion as she did everything in her power to try and get Indie killed or try to profit off of his dead friends. And you expect me to believe she all of a sudden cares about Jones in the last 5 minutes of the film?! Piss off! Kingdom of the Crystal Skull had more respect than this piece of trash.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom: Ah yes. The end of an era lands on a sequel to a fun first entry that had stylistic problems, but nevertheless was good. Now, we get this extremely scatter brained and ridiculous excuse for a sequel. I felt that the tone wanted to have an underwater Lord of the Rings type of mythos which if edited and rewritten properly, could've been massive. Alas, we get this hot steaming pile of crap that was boring after the third overly CGI action sequence and weak one noted villain motivation. Jason Mamoa and Patrick Wilson were the only reason to watch this film. Jason was himself most of the time while cosplaying as Aquaman and Patrick Wilson was brilliant and sometimes dumbed down as Orm. The brotherly love and chemistry between them actually saved the last act of the film. Other than that, this film illustrated why the DCEU had to end and I wish it had stuck to their original plan of having one last meet up with Ben Affleck's Batman instead of the stupid mid credit scene we got to a joke that was great once.
Now we've come to the end of the road. There were some truly horrendous films this year, but none of them match the level of disappointment this film did. Ladies and gentlemen, the worst film of 2023 is........

Expendables 4: There was an idea to get all of the best action stars of the 80's, 90's and 2000's together in a pure action film that featured all of them together for the first time. It was The Avengers of action film stars and it worked...... in the first 2 films. The third film saw the horrible decision to make a PG-13 entry to appeal to the younger audiences. They realized that mistake too late and it cost them dearly. Well, now they came back with a hard R rated fourth entry, as it should've been, but with only a fraction of the stars that began this franchise and it was absolute garbage from beginning to end. The relationship between Sylvester Stallone's Barney Ross and Jason Statham's Lee Christmas was at the heart of the franchise and that is stripped away. What we're left with is a piss poorly edited, overly CGI'd mess of wasted time and money. Not even Statham could save this film from mediocrity or the horrible sight of Megan Fox trying to act or look like she could do any sort of fight sequence. You had one of the best action stars in Iko Uwais and you did nothing with him. Seriously, that man would destroy Jason and he barely got one or two worthy hits in. Andy Garcia was the only person that understood what type of film he was in and he truly went for it. John Wick 4 was one of the best action films in years and it showed that the action genre has moved far beyond these fossils.
And that's it everyone! That is my list of the shiniest turds known as the worst films of 2023. NO TIME TO DIE (2021)

Lemme just say this. This movie right here. Amazing. Everything a Bond and action film should be. I loved every minute of it. I was worried that after all the delays rewrites and muck ups that the film wouldn't live up to the hype but god I was so wrong. It exceeded my expectations. This Bond film is more than just a bond film; yes it has the action, the muscular man, the beautiful woman, the scar faced villain but it does it in a way that does justice to everyone. Bond in this film is presented as an actual man with a heart and with a sense of care in him which you never really see in any of the previous Bond films. With Bond films there’s always been the risk and problems of how women have been represented but in this film they do it in a way that doesn't sexualises them just for the sake of it. They make the woman in this film actually a key point of the film and gives them some powerful moments. In a way the female ensemble of the film out shone Daniel Craig especially Anna De Armas being a complete badass and Lashana Lynch giving a very interesting insight into what's to come with the exploration of a female 007, which after watching this film and seeing her in it I LOVE AND WANT TO SEE MORE OF.

SHE’S SUCH A BADASS!

I’m a bit of a sucker for Rami Malek so I'm probably going to be very bias but he was amazing in the film. his character was also a very genuinely interesting villain who wasn't in the film for much of it but had such an impact that you alway felt his presence there and that's what I love about a good villain (like Darth Vader in episode 4 only being in the film for like 8 minutes but having a huge cinematic impact.) The overall writing in the film was all in all great. It was a simple story of villain wanting to kill everyone and take over the world bla bla bla but there were elements in the story that mad me really scared. Scared you say? Yes, scared, it was eerily similar to the whole Covid-19 scenario we’ve all been going through. The villain, Safin played by Rami Malek, manages to get a top secret UK government biological weapon that infects people and makes them ill and kills them. Sounds familiar? It created a sense of tension to the whole mission Bond has to go on cause you know a threat like this can be devastating as we’ve been living through something like this for the past year and a half. Another thing I loved about the story was how it explores how our governments are corrupt and even if they think they have good intentions to build a mass extinction level kinda weapon that will keep their country ‘safe’. It uses the metaphor of Safin as a way of saying they’re not better than the ‘actual’ bad guys.

I’m just going to say another thing. The cinematography in this film. Perfect. It’s done so well with some amazing lighting sequences in the Cuba part of the movie and with beautiful scenery in the opening of the film. The camera work is so well executed and keeps you dead centre of all the action and is shot in a way that you don't feel lost in the fights yet still feel like you’re there with them. Some of the shot transitions were so smooth and just made everything flow. The pacing of the film as well was just great. Slow start but managed to build up tension that lead up to the big villain reveal and from there everything was just a thrill ride. Some of the stunts as well were just out of this world but in a way that they can be believed and not like some other wacky Bond stunts they’re explored in the past. I love the believability of it as it creates a sense that Bond is an actual human and creates this other layer to him.

I could go on and on about this film but I think I'll stop and only say a couple  last things. The opening title sequence with Billie Eilish’s song playing over it was a sensation I wish I could relive for the first time. And finally the ending of the film was perfect and an amazing farewell to an amazing representation of Bond. It was a simple and very emotional ending to everything and it truly did feel like his last mission. They didnt drag the ding out at all which I liked. The got stealth to the point and manages to set something up for whoever will next take the mantle of James Bond 007.

But "The Ancient Gods Part 2" looks like iconic af already.
And with that, I have some thoughts!
My experience with "The Ancient Gods" and Doom's reboot game series
While I have played "Doom Eternal" and "Doom" 2016 a few times each, I haven't played "The Ancient Gods Part 1" yet. I do know some of the key plot points, though, namely the Dark Lord regaining his body so the Doom Slayer can kill him once and for all. I just haven't had the time, energy, or patience to play the DLC, mostly because my current job is kicking my ass, I'm super stressed, and I feel like I'm rushed on my days off. I don't have much time after work to do anything save for exercise (on a couple days), showering, and eating. It's not prime time for gaming. At all.
Also, I have been kind of hooked on survival horror games as that is technically my favorite genre of games.
I'll play "The Ancient Gods," both parts, at some point in the near future, but not sure exactly when.
The end?
Something I noticed in the trailer is it seems to indicate that "The Ancient Gods" is the conclusion to the Doom reboot story.
But that can't be right, can it? As far as I know, the Doom reboot games have done very well, and, also as far as I know, id Software hasn't pissed off a good chunk of their fanbase by doing dumb shit (like NRS and MK11)
I'm guessing this isn't truly the end. I mean, at the end of "Doom Eternal," it was said that the Doom Slayer's fight is well....eternal. And can you really destroy hell? Banish it for good? I have my doubts 🤔
They could do spin-offs, too, I suppose, since they have created a Doom Universe for the first time ever. It's a thought 🤷‍♀️
And, uh, id Software may respect their fans and their creation, but they in business to make money, and if Doom is bringing in the cash then the logical thing to do is...make more Doom. 💲💲💲💲

The final battle for "The Ancient Gods Part 2" reminds me of the final battle in "Avengers: Endgame."

Now, I know what some might be thinking:
"But this is so derivative! id Software just copied 'Endgame's' epic battle instead of making up their own 😑"
Well, here's how I see it:
Marvel hasn't placed a copyright/trademark on "Endgame's" final battle, so if anyone wants to style a fight/battle based on it, it's not illegal.
People copy each other's works all the time. Well, it's not like people copy stuff ALL the time. Sometimes, a creative idea references a previous creative idea. Writings inspired by other writings, art inspired by other art, movies inspired by other movies, songs inspired by other songs...So, this is nothing new.
If id Software wanted to have an epic final battle against the forces of Hell, it makes sense that, instead of making the Doom Slayer do EVERYTHING, there would be forces coming to fight alongside him. I'm sure plenty of beings have beef with Hell, and when someone stands up to fight against it, then it would be time to rally the troops to join the guy and kick some goddamn ass. I can't think of any vastly different ways to style/choreograph this fight. I mean, yeah, id Software could have been a little less obvious with their references/inspiration, but, I don't think it's a big deal.
If you're going to make a fictional epic battle modeled after another fictional epic battle, then "Avengers: Endgame's" final battle IS that battle.
I know some people see the MCU as trash, but I strongly disagree. I have enjoyed the vast majority of it so far, and am excited to see more.
Some people think "Endgame" is overrated and doesn't deserve to be in the top 5 highest-grossing films. Well, that's just your opinion, Guys, and I disagree with you. 🤷‍♀️ It's a 3-hour movie that feels more like 2-2.5 hours, which is an accomplishment in and of itself! I have seen movies 2 hours long that felt 10 hours long -- and not in a good way. I have seen movies 3 hours long that felt like 3 fucking hours. So, I think "Endgame" deserves some credit here.
Some think "Avatar" and "Titanic" are more worthy, especially since they have won various awards, including Oscars, and "Endgame" didn't win much. Ok, so, the Oscars are fucking bullshit anymore, just political garbage and barely anything to do with quality or talent. Winning awards doesn't always mean the world, either. "Avatar" and "Titanic" are both HIGHLY overrated in my opinion. Amazing visual effects, terrible stories. I won't go into detail because y'all wouldn't like my thoughts anyway.
"The Ancient Gods Part 2" has a fucking amazing final battle and I don't care what anyone says! It's DOOM all the way to the max! I mean, we're taking part in a massive assault on Hell for the first time in the Doom franchise. How is that NOT awesome?
The release date is what?!
As far as I know, id Software didn't advertise the release date for "The Ancient Gods Part 2" until the official full-length trailer was released on March 17th.
And we find out in said trailer that this DLC is coming out TOMORROW.

Final Thoughts
I really hope this isn't the end for the Doom reboot series. I mean, they took the time to build a little universe in Doom Eternal, so it seems like a real shame to end the story now.
I can't get over the final battle between Hell and... The Forces of Good? Not sure what else to call them. But it's pretty much what I would expect of such a thing in a Doom game. It's grand, epic, cinematic, awesome, incredible, insane, brutal, chaotic, and pure carnage.
I seriously wonder how "The Ancient Gods Part 2" will end.....will there be a teaser/hint at future installments?

Jughead Jones x reader
Author Note: This is taken place during season one when everything was simpler.
(I don't remember these episodes perfectly so I'm sorry if I miss some things)
Summary: Jughead is trying hard to make sure you don't know that he's homeless, but sooner or later you find out.

Jughead was beyond mad. They were going to close down the drive in, his job. His home. Of course nobody else could know that, especially not you.
Jughead's had a crush on you for a while. You were just always so happy and ready to help. You helped Jughead with the blue and gold, as well as solving mysteries that you guys got yourselves into. You were the only one who understood his references.
The last thing he wanted to feel like was The Help. He didn't want you to see him as a loser or helpless. Not that you would, but Jughead couldn't help but feel embarrassed.
Jughead angrily climbed over you in the booth. All of you stared at him. "They're going to shut down the drive-in."
"What?" You said, the only one who seemed to care. Betty had switched sides the squish in with Veronica and Kevin. The three of them knew of your crush on Jughead Jones, and were reading to help anyway they could.
"Closing down the Twighlight Drive-In is just one more nail in the coffin that is Riverdale, no, the American dream. As the great Quentin Tarantino used to say-"
"Please, no more Quentin Tarantino references." Kevin said.
"What? I'm pissed. And not just because I'm losing my job, but because the drive in should mean something to Riverdale. People should be trying to save it!"
You slide over your plate to Jughead, and he starts eating your fries. "Well, in the new age of Netflix, who would go to drive-ins anymore?"
"People who want to buy crack." Kevin bluntly says.
"Kev." You say, nodding to Jughead.
"And cinematics and car enthusiasts!" Jughead argues. "Am I right y/n/n?"
"Yup." Nodding your head.
"Also, you guys should come to closing night." He says sadly. "I was thinking American Graffiti, or is that too obvious?"
"Oh, I would love anything starring Audrey Hepburn." Veronica said, with Kevin nodding in agreement.
"Y/n, what do you think?" Kevin asks.
"Mm, maybe Rebel Without a Cause?" Jughead smiles at you.
"I'll be right back." Betty says, getting up when seeing Archie, his dad, and the music teacher.
"Betty wait!" You said, knowing that it was about the weird relationship of the two. You and Jughead shared a look. He knew too.
Betty said something, and her and Archie went outside. Jughead slouched as he stared out the window to watch, and you leaned on him, putting your hand on his chest to watch as well. Veronica then went out to see what was going on.
"What was it like before she came here?" Kevin asked. "I honestly can't remember."
"Huh." You say. Kevin nodded his head.
You and Jughead were passing out flyers for the closing night at the drive-in. "Why didn't you guys give me a heads up?" Archie asked.
"I am, by nature, an objector." Not saying anything to neither you nor Betty was the most moral decision I could make."
"And you?"
"I try not to associate myself with stuff like this." You explain. "Don't get me wrong, I'm nosey and I like to know things about other people, but I physically stay out of drama."
Jughead smiled at that. "And that's what keeps the blue and gold running." You smiled back.
"Could you guys just please let me know if Betty does anything crazy?"
After school you both went to the mayor's office. "I'm sorry, but the Twighlight Drive-In has become a hangout for gang members and transients. The deal is done. Andrews Construction is scheduled to destroy it on Monday."
Jughead was beginning to panic. It was happening too fast, and he didn't know where he was going to go if the drive-in really would be gone. "Mayor McCoy, when I was a kid my family and I would always go. We couldn't afford tickets for everyone, so Jellybean and I would hide in the trunk, then come out when the car was parked. It's like my home."
Jughead felt hot under your gaze. He shifted in his seat, wanting nothing more than for you to have not have heard that. "That's a sweet sentiment, Mr. Jones, but the future of Riverdale is at stake here."
"And isn't Riverdale the town of warm, fuzzy memories?" You spoke up. "I mean, might as well get rid of Pop's for the 50's theme. Riverdale thrives on the fact that it's a place where people build times to remember with their families."
"Look, I'd love to help you both, but the deal is done. You should find out who they are to get some answers."
"Thank you for your time." You said.
Next was Andrews Construction site. "Mayor McCoy says that you have a contract to tear down the drive-in." Jughead said quietly. There was something about Archie's father that made anyone, especially Jughead, calm down. Fred Andrews was a respected man.
"I do. Look, I'm sorry guys. I love the drive-in too."
"Mr. Andrews," you said. "Just give us one week to track the man who bought the land."
"And convince them not to demolish this holy house of cinema." Jughead said angrily.
"Jug, y/n/n, this is a big contract for me and my guys."
Jughead was staring intensely at Fred, before softening his features. He didn't move. "Y/n could you wait outside?" He asked quietly.
You looked at Jughead, confused, then at Fred. He nodded his head for you to go. "Okay." You responded.
"You put one Jones out of work, and now another, huh?"
He sighed. "Jug, your dad was stealing equipment. I had to let him go."
Jughead scoffs. "Right. You're just doing what you had to, just like now. Later." He averted eye contact. Although he was mad, he knew it wasn't Fred's fault.
He found you sitting on the steps waiting for him. "You okay?"
He kept on walking. "He's not gonna do it."
You caught up to him and grabbed his hand, bringing him to a halt. "That's not what I asked." You quietly said. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah. It's whatever. I gotta go get everything ready for closing night. See you tomorrow." And with that he walked off.
You then went from gift store to gift store, trying to find Jughead something that he'd like. You wanted to make him feel better. You knew that his sadness wouldn't completely go away from the Twilight Drive-In, but it could probably lessen. And that was your goal.
You went to the back of the drive-in, where Rebel Without a Cause was playing from. You knocked on the door. Jughead poked his head out of the door. "Y/n, what're you doing here?"
You smiled. "I came to see if we could watch the movie back here together."
"I would, but there's a lot of tapes and equipment to organize. Sorry." Jughead hated the words coming out of his mouth. Of course he wanted to watch the movie with you. Of course he wanted to be with you alone, especially right now. He wanted you to make him feel better. But he couldn't have you see the bed.
Your smile faded. "Oh. Okay. Well, could you come out here for a second then? I want to give you something."
He went outside and closed the door. He gave you a teasing smile. "Is it the deed to this place?"
You laughed. "I wish. It's, uh," you raised your hand, showing a Bates Motel key chain with the circular chain around your index finger. "Tada."
He stared at it. He didn't know how to react. You knew him so well. "What? You don't like it? I'm sorry, I was just trying to make you feel better and-"
"What? No! Uh, no, it's not that." He put on a tiny smile. "It's just, thank you. It means a lot."
You went up to him and hugged him, loving the warmth resonating off of him. He was shocked for a second, before coming back to his senses and wrapping his arms around your waist.
"Course Jug. You're my best friend." You pulled away and out your hands on each cheek. "Alright. C'mon, where's that smile I love so much?" He looked away and did his dorky smile that made your cheeks heat up. "There it is." You then slipped out of his hold. "If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask." And with that you left.
Jughead watched you leave, then looking down at the key chain in his hand. As he went back inside and packed his things, he hooked the key chain onto his backpack zipper, sighing as he looked at it.
The next three days Jughead was sleeping in the janitor closet at Riverdale High. It was perfect. He had his sleeping bag, and they had showers and bathrooms. You just couldn't find out.
That was until the fourth day. Archie had caught him. "Jug, what are you doing here so early?"
He put on a fake smile. "Just using this school's amazing state-of-the-art facility."
"No, seriously, what are you doing here?" So he showed his where he was sleeping. He explained that this was his living ever since the drive-in was closed. "I'll be back. I'm going to talk to my dad about you staying with us."
After some arguing, Jughead reluctantly agreed. "But Archie, you can't tell anyone about this. Especially not y/n." Knowing of his friend's crush, he nodded his head. He then headed out of the school, getting his phone out of his pocket to send you some texts.
The was a knock on the closet door. Jughead let out a laugh. "Archie you don't have to knock, it's not like this is my room or anything."
The door opened, you leaning against the door frame with a bag in hand. Jughead's smile immediately came off. "Can I come in?" You quietly asked.
"He told you?!" He stood.
"Please don't be mad at him!" You quickly said, going in and shutting the door. "I'm glad he did. Why didn't you tell me about this Jug?"
"You think I'm proud of this? I'm living in a closet. I use the school showers. I'm pathetic y/n."
"No you're not, Juggy. You You should've just told someone. You could've gotten help!" You huffed, putting the bag in your hand down. "I really didn't think you had a big ego. You should know that I don't care about where you're living, or if things are going bad. You just need to talk to me."
He scoffed, then looking at the bag. He was still angry, but curiosity got the better of him. "What's in the bag?"
You breathed out a humorless laugh. "Pop's. Eggs and bacon. I also stopped by a liquor store and got chocolate milk."
"For me?"
"For us." You looked back at him, his expression still looking angry. "What? Getting drinks separately was cheaper, and I like YooHoo okay? I figured I could make you feel better and save some money at the same time but I guess I was wrong and-"
He cut you off with a kiss. It surprised you at first, but you soon returned it. You cupped his face with his hands finding your waist. When he pulled away for air he kept your faces close. He looked downwards, and you smiled wide. It happened. It finally happened. You had just kissed Jughead.
"Aw, c'mon Jug." You stroked your thumb at his cheek. "Where's that smile that I love so much?" He looked to the side and gave you a big goofy smile. "There it is."
The door then opened and Archie saw the both of us in each other's embrace. "Oh. Sorry should I have knocked?"

Well, I'm a girl, I've a very strong intuition but need to listen to it more. I love to analyse every little detail which often leads to me overthinking and worrying too much. Logan Howlett AKA Wolverine 
Logan isn’t the easiest person to get along with, it actually took a few times working together before he started to open up a little bit more towards you, encouraging you to talk more about what you’ve learnt, what you want to learn and any other hobbies you may have. He finds you interesting and gets attached quicker than he planned to, he does tend to keep his hands to himself and is reluctant to relax around you for fear of hurting you in any way, plus he would prefer to keep any PDA behind closed doors, where he finds constant reason to be near you, at least. Logan does have times where he finds your curiosity annoying or just too much or gets them into trouble, but a single look from you and he’s following after you and helping you get the answers to any questions you might’ve had. Logan enjoys spending time riding his motorcycle with you, however, you are not allowed to get on it without him, he is willing to help you learn how and to help you get your license, however, he doesn’t trust you to give directions.

Kyo Sohma
Kyo Sohma, a short-tempered hot head, became attached surprisingly quickly, scaring himself at how attached he became, it did, however, take a while for him to actually admit it, miscommunication or lack thereof (mainly on Kyo’s part) did rock your relationship a bit but after a lot of patience, a bit of nagging you eventually sorted it out, Kyo’s main way of showing he cares is how he aggressively looks out for you, whether it’s getting you back in bed when your sick, handling any bullies. He eventually calms down to the point where the two of you can work together and with other people without Kyo getting easily angered and he is able to help you when you are feeling down and insecure, as well as to tell you to follow your gut, as it hasn’t been wrong so far.

Peter Parker AKA Spiderman!
Peter, unlike the others, wouldn't be against PDA, but he does not want to overstep his boundaries and the two of you work out a way where you are both happy and satisfied, Peter’s bubbly and excitable side comes out and he spends time gushing over something new and exciting with you, he loves to talk to you especially about new topics, the two of you often go off together and has to be brought back because you keep exploring and trying to find new things, Peter is always eager to help you, and he does, in fact, know how to drive a motorcycle so he’s more than happy to help you learn, and he makes sure to try and get some sort of fancy GPS for you to use so you won’t get lost as much.

 Greg likes his job, putting up with Sherlock can be tiring but he does it if it gets the job done and he can spend more time with you, he does get jealous sometimes as you and Sherlock seem to be close friends, but he always calms himself down long enough to listen to you talk about your day, he asks you occasionally to give your thoughts and feelings on a specific case, while technically he’s not meant to he has found your feelings or analysis helpful and has even helped solve a case or two, he admires your desire for knowledge and loves hearing what you’ve learnt, even if he doesn’t understand a lick of what you just said.

Bobby Singer!
A relationship between the two of you may have been unexpected at first, but makes sense more you think about it, whether its platonic or not, Bobby has a lot of knowledge and lore under his belt both practically and not and does spend time using it, he can be a bit of a crouch sometimes but seeing you always brightens his day, he doesn’t move around much so get to and from places is pretty much sorted without to much distance, he’s not much of a bike person but he does look at ones that you might like in hopes of maybe one day when you get your license, he’ll surprise you. He does get concerned when it comes to you getting lost, making sure you have both a first aid kit, and an additional emergency kit just in case you somehow get REALLY lost (mainly just consist of a portable charger and cord) along with a few simple, yet common hunting equipment just in case you run into trouble, he does trust your instinct and commonly tells you to do the same, he often tells you to jot down your analysis, think through it in dot points and than figure out facts from truth later so you don’t doubt yourself instantly, whether it works or not is another problem entirely.

Your Thoughts for OW’s Lore At Blizzcon
**Edit - would help to tag you hurr durr @freckledmccree
I like how you will indulge in detailed speculation and interpretation of OW lore and don’t center all ideas around one specific (noncanon) idea but will admit occasional personal bias. I also really appreciate that you steer relatively clear from fanon and when people respond to your writings you don’t have an attitude or seemingly disregard them. Sooo, that’s why I wrote this disgustingly long thing even tho I’m paranoid about being annoying.
 (Apology beforehand if you have answered any of these before, I have not properly stalked your blog yet. Also, excuse my rambling I did my best to be coherent. Lastly, I only have one friend who is kinda into OW and I feel bad to bother them 24/7 so I talk a lot in this.)
McCree Speculation
The following assumes that the new cinematic will be McCree’s.
If there is another known character in the short along with McCree, excluding flashbacks, who do you think it would be? 
I have 3-4 ideas even though I would not say they are likely. And with any of these I don't imagine a role any larger than Brig's in Honor and Glory or even Zarya in Infiltration.
A.) Genji. I don't think it's likely but I wouldn't be surprised. It also might be risky on Blizzard's part because many are salty about Genji's abundance of lore compared to others. (Which is dumb and I would gladly rant on it but it's not the point) Reasons:
Notable increase of McCree's interactions w/him.
McCree might've left OW in a less professional fashion than others. Which would mean he may not have anything to be alerted by for the recall. Especially since he went underground for a while.  Winston’s contact info? Long since changed.
From how I interpret “Dragons” it seems that Genji has received the call as well as offered Hanzo a choice to go w/him “The world is changing once again, Hanzo. And it's time to pick a side.” So why not others?
Genji has also been canonically in touch w/at least one other ex OW member. So why not try to get in touch with another member that we know he directly worked with?
My logic - Why would their interactions matter?
McCree's asking about how Genji dealt with the loss of his body emotionally/physically as well as Genji's response leaves room for the implication that Genji knows how he lost his arm.
Why would Genji go in person?
Well, I mean you probably don't wanna broadcast that your getting the highly illegal band back together. In which said band also is also hated by the UN and every other terrorist organization on the planet.
How will Genji know how to find him?
Cause he's a ninja, duh. But seriously McCree most likely said something before he quit OW and if not Genji would just have to look at the news and he'd be there.
B.) Sombra. If anything I wouldn't be surprised by a small reference to her rather than actually seeing her.
Reflections comic (duh)
My logic - I expect Sombra to get involved with a little bit of everything. She likes making people question their beliefs on who is “right” or “wrong”. 
She would most likely know about the recall so if she wants to manipulate that at all she could be the one to tell McCree about it. Idk, she’s a wildcard with anything.
C.) Fio. The Blackwatch Pilot in Retribution. (I used “known” characters loosely) I'm not sure on my certainty with her, tbh. But I do find it rather intriguing. (I said no flashbacks but maybe with this one)
Fio's only lines that are not directly related towards the mission are all directed towards McCree.
The tone of them is clearly on the teasing/banter side of things.
My logic - Why have this side character show any interest in conversation outside of the task at hand? 
If she was just being used for the game mode and as lore filler it would make more sense to have only lines relating to the mission. Or have generalized ones for the team. But she has multiple focusing on the one and only Jesse McCree.
Reasons for that could be that they ran out of time to add other interactions. Which would explain why McCree does not acknowledge her comments. (The only time he was quiet during the mission is when she talked to him, rip you got denied girl) Or it could be that they knew each other previously or trained together in some of the early days of Blackwatch.
D.) Mercy. This one I would be surprised to see but it would have some logic to it.
Losing his arm, depending on the how/when/where.
She is not one of the characters who speak to him about his arm.
My logic - Who fixed his arm up for him?
Depending on how/when/where he lost his arm he may have shyed away from public hospitals. Especially with Talon  seemingly controlling so much of the press. So he may of wanted someone he personally trusted as well as doctor patient confidentiality.
Why does Mercy of all people not ask about the prosthetic? 
Out of the people who question McCree Mercy isn't one of them. Which may seem odd since she has known him for so long and her being a doctor. However, she does call out his smoking. So this proves she does pay attention to his over all health. (Which I am aware is a much older interaction) But it would have been a good opportunity to have her inquire about the arm there if she doesn't already know.
 Do you think McCree will directly receive the recall or from some other source?
What do you think of the fact that McCree lost his left arm specifically?
If the loss of McCree's arm is related to the Deadlock Gang do you speculate that it was intentionally the arm that had his tattoo on it? With how far McCree got in his career/life with OW and potentially spilling info on the gang when caught some people might want him to hurt. Not just die. To me forcefully sawing off the branding of the gang he betrayed would fit the bill. As well as be a good warning for others. (Not that blizzard would show that)
How do you imagine the camaraderie within Deadlock to be?
I ask this since in “Hero” right before the Los Muertos member throws the grenade it shows him actively choosing to help the other gang members (very broken gang members thanks to Soldier 76)onto the back of the truck instead of getting out ASAP. 
I just found that to be notable in how their social structure works. It makes more sense for Los Muertos specifically since they originally wanted to stand up against the politics and speak out for the people still suffering from the Omnic Crisis. They are not formed from the shady work they do.
Deadlock, however, doesn't seem to represent a core ideology. So I wouldn't be surprised if when OW caught some of them the others ran. Especially since McCree would probably still be pretty low in the pecking order at the time.
Can you imagine a shoot out in the warehouse tho, that'd be so risky people could be anywhere and there's no good line of sight except for where the truck drives through. Sneaky teen McCree climbing around and ish
Do you expect/hope for the origin on any mementos to be revealed?
My only idea is his iconic BAMF belt buckle. We know he's had it for quite a while since he wears it here:

Do you have any thoughts on the Deadlock Torb skin?
Idk, this is kinda silly but people have talked about it. People do have a good point that it’s odd for him to have that skin.
Lastly, do you have any little head canons that you hope to see confirmed? 
Nothing serious just simple personal hopes from the cinematic which may or may not set you up for disappointment cause fun
(When I first started writing this I had two questions, rip. I'm pretty sure I forgot one of the original questions too)
Other Blizzcon Lore Speculation
Do you have any ideas for the new hero?
Personally, I do not have any super strong theories but I do have a few loose ideas. Tbh, I can’t especially convince myself of any these besides the likelihood of said character being a tank.
A.) Talon Tank
Reasons:
Moira’s origin story contains two possible indicators towards this, or another Talon member in general.
We need another main tank added to the roster (opinion)
Talon has a character for every role except tanking (weak)

My Logic lacking- Majority of this idea comes from Moira’s origin story which shows this relatively well known photo with a person or armored suit of some kind on the back panel here:

I used to think of this to be much harder evidence than I do now since it looks like it could be a uncolored design used for the Talon members in Retribution. However, there’s another detail in the photo (including the version with the different back panel that I believe could point to another member. Each character, excluding Moira, has their line of sight going to the same spot. My doodles for emphasis:

(Reaper is kind of hard to tell but that’s basically his entire role in Talon at this point, lol) Who are they all looking at? This could just be an artistic choice for viewer immersion but it also could be rather purposeful. To me, it looks like a proposition to someone, with the panel in the back for emphasis. If not a proposition, perhaps the workings of a plan or setting clear expectations for said person. (either version works for this context) This someone must be rather important to have them all there. Moira is looking back at the rest of them, seemingly reading their expressions/body language. She seems pleased but then again she’s a tad bit odd.
B.) Mystery Characters
Idek, I added this cause I could. This is not likely at all but will remain on the list of possibilities as long as Overwatch shall live.
Have been shown or spoken of very early on but nothing since
Recently mentioned names but no physical hints of who/what they are

My logic (or lack there of) - I have exactly one tiny speck of logic for this. Mystery characters shown and/or spoken of before the cancellation of the First Strike comic are still occasionally brought up to the OW team. Yet they have conveniently  not retconned them.  Why not say they are no longer a significant part of the story when there has been no updates on them for 2ish years? Maybe they are just keeping the possibility open. Liao and the two from Ana’s origin story are the best (only?) examples:

There is also more recently mentioned characters such as Ray and Fio. Ray was discussed mostly early this year and all we know about them is the following:

We do not know anything else about who or what Ray is. I do not 100% believe Ray is an actual person but you never know. The comment on the beard and his response to has Ray’s combat experience could be some teasing on Michael Chu’s part. To me, Ray is either a person, an omnic, or some sort of computer system used in the Orca.  I should note that another AI other than Athena would seem odd especially with the whole reason OW formed and all.
(Fio I have already discussed but at least we know she’s an actual person, hopefully...OW is weird man)
What do you think of the common theory of Sanjay Korpal being the next hero?
Personally, I think he lacks the look of an OW character. He looks rather plain to me, almost like a background character used to fill up comic space. I do believe his role is going to grow substantially in the lore but as an in game hero? Eh, I don’t know. Another thing I struggle with imagining is him being a tank like a lot of people presume. It would be interesting with what Vishkar can do with hard light technology to have a tank based on that, I will admit. Just don’t see him filling the role of that, he doesn’t strike me as someone who wants to get his hands dirty. I will admit, that this is very strictly my opinion and read of his character and by no means is anything to go off of speculation wise.
 But, if I’m wrong, then next years first cinematic should definitely be a Symmetra/Lucio one and it should definitely have Symmetra kiCKING HIS ASS FOR MANIPUlATING HER foR GOD KNOWs hOW LONG..ahem.
Do you think a comic will be released soon?
They usually put out comics on Wednesdays but they have been odd this year when it comes to them. Idk, if they’ll announce one at Blizzcon. I kinda doubt it. Personally, I’m hoping for a really kick ass Christmas comic since in Reflections it ended with Winston saying he has a good feeling for “next year” (OW’s next year cause timeline) plus last year’s was cute but underwhelming.
I think that’s all I have to ask/discuss for now? I had ideas keep popping up but I kept going back over what I already wrote and my attention span is all or nothing soooo there goes my ideas into the void.

I never realised how much I appreciate McCree’s character until the hints of him having a short started popping up. Before I liked him sure, I just never thought too deep into how they could expand on his character. Originally I was just like, “so Reyes picked this kid out of a big ass gang and had him trained among the world’s most renowned soldiers and he still is perfectly content being a cowboy?” Good for you my dudely man, good for you,
