okay hear me out! Noé x reader: reader is hanging out with the main 4 and is super sleepy but can't fall asleep unless they are completely comfortable with the people around them..

..anyways the others leave to go do something (get food, see an event, idk) and within minutes of being left alone with noé, reader is just like, dead asleep against him.

The others come back and are just like "wtf". Noé just gives warm protective vibes, I would definitely feel comfortable napping with him.

The evening was getting on, everyone still chatting the parlor by the fire like old friends. Not a group thrown together by chaos and happenstance just a few months ago.

“Oh dear! We’re out of wine.”

“I think we’ve all had enough Dominique.” Jeanne replied. The voice of reason.

“Nonsense!” The noble jeered happily. Literally waving her comment away. “I’m sure there is more in the cellar. Let’s go get some!”

“I should really check on Louis….” Jeanne thought out loud, and let out a startled little squeak when Dominique forcibly pulled her to her feet.

“You can check on him on the way. Vanitas! Come us!”

“What?! Why me?”

“Because you haven’t contributed anything to the ‘feast’ all night.” The young man gulped, having been called out for his mooching. “Plus, it might give you two time to sneak away for a little rendezvous in the dark corridors, eh?” Vanitas and Jeanne both turned red, and started barking at Dominique on how that wasn’t true; even as they still followed her.

Noe chuckled. Dominique always had a way of getting what she wanted.

He sipped the last bit of wine in his glass, then heard a soft yawn beside him from [Y/N]. “What’s the matter? Are you tired?”

“Oh no, I’m fine.” They insisted. Waving him off with the hand that was just covering their mouth to stifle a yawn. “It’s just been a long day.”

“I can appreciate that.” The days just seemed to be getting longer and longer, and more complicated. “If you’re tired you should just go to bed.”

[Y/N] shook their head. “No. I don’t want to mess up the party. I mean, this isn’t a real party, but I do like spending time with everyone. I’m sure everyone won’t want to stay up too much longer.”

Clearly they didn’t know Dominique, Noe thought. “Well, why don’t you close your eyes until they get back? A quick cat nap before they return. Although, I’ve never seen Murr take a quick nap.” He wondered now why they called them that.

“I couldn’t do that.” [Y/N] insisted. “That would be incredibly rude.”

“I won’t tell anyone.” Noe replied with a wink that made [Y/N] blush.

They seemed to ponder on it for a moment before giving in. Curling up more on the couch they were on and resting their head on his shoulder. “Just for a moment.”

They were out like a light as soon as they rested their head on his shoulder. Noe just watched them. The peaceful rise and fall of their chest. The calm look on their face. Something that was few and far between these days.

Noe’s ear picked up the sound of the group coming back, and just as quickly Dominique had opened the door; two more bottle in hand. Noe placed a finger against his lips, signaling them to be quiet, and the group noticed [Y/N] sleeping beside him.

Jeanne and Vanitas quickly backed out and away, but Dominique lingered for a moment with a soft smile before she left too and closed the door. He wondered if it was a happy smile or a sad smile. Either way, he was happy that [Y/N]’s rest could be protected.

He fell asleep himself not long after that. Listening to the sound of a crackling fire and [Y/N]’s breathing by his side.

Why hate on characters or have ship battles when we can just ship all four of them? Behold my case study of vanitas ship chart that will satisfy all viewers:

Noe and vanitas are in love, vanitas and Jeanne as in love, Jeanne and Dominique are in love, and Dominique and Noe are in love.

Dominique and vanitas are like don't really care about each other at all and kinda have a mutual dislike.

And Noe and Jeanne are kinda buddies (not that close tho just like maybe respect) with a bit of jealousy on noes behalf cause remember Noe was like "I'm vexxed cause jeanne got to drink vanities's blood first"

An easy way to remember this is just, the black haired people are in love with the white haired people and the white haired people are in love with the black haired people

And now all parties are satisfied and there is no need to hate on characters or ships in the name of shipping!
