‘Turkey’ is a fine "combine" and is "composed almost entirely in blazing red, collaged imagery and found objects from everyday life" and "envelops the viewer in it impassioned narrative of post-war America."  "The blazing patriotic hues at once capture the optimistic and expansive spirit of the early 1960s and the vibrating energy of the nuclear era. 

Turkey's visual cacophony is typical of the artist, whose compositions are famously untidy, complicated and chock full of unexpected juxtapositions."  

The essay includes the following Rauschenberg quotation: "The use of the familiar is obscure, the use of the exotic is familiar. Neither sacrifices completely its origin but the mind has to travel to follow just as the eye has to change its focus."

I don't mind that Walker Scobell doesn't look like book!Percy because 1) he's absolutely got the spirit. Walker basically is Percy, you can see and feel that in every one of his scenes, and

2) If book!Percabeth had a baby, he would look exactly like Walker Scobell, and I think that's hilariously perfect

You know what's fun?

They seem to have made Percy more on the inattentive end of ADHD than hyperactive. Aside from the capture the flag scene, we mostly just see him zoning out, 'daydreaming', the line "I don't think it's the marshmallow's fault I never pay attention".

ADHD barely gets good representation as it is, but I don't think I've ever seen the inattentive type in media like this before. This is going to be huge for a lot of people who don't fall under the hyperactive stereotype umbrella.

I'm just really excited that more people will get the chance to see themselves.
