Canon law of the Catholic Church
Canon law refers to the system of laws and legal principles made and enforced by the hierarchical authorities (the bishops and ultimately the Pope) of the Catholic Church to regulate its external organization and government and to order and direct the activities of Catholics toward the mission of the Church. The term "canon" is derived from the Greek word "kanon," meaning a rule or measure.
The current Code of Canon Law for the Latin Church (also known as the Western Church or the Roman Catholic Church) was promulgated by Pope John Paul II in 1983. It replaced the previous Code of Canon Law, which had been in place since 1917. The Eastern Catholic Churches, which are in full communion with Rome but have their own distinct traditions, have their own codes of canon law.
The Code of Canon Law is divided into several books, each dealing with different aspects of Church life. Some of the key areas covered by canon law include:
Book I: General Norms: This book establishes the general principles and norms that apply to the entire Code.
Book II: The People of God: This book deals with the hierarchical structure of the Church, including the rights and obligations of the faithful (laypeople and clergy).
Book III: The Teaching Function of the Church: This book covers the ministry of the Word of God, including preaching and teaching.
Book IV: The Sanctifying Function of the Church: This book addresses the sacraments and other liturgical celebrations.
Book V: The Temporal Goods of the Church: This book outlines the administration and management of Church property and finances.
Book VI: Sanctions in the Church: This book deals with penalties in the Church, including both the censures and other punitive measures.
Book VII: Processes: This book outlines the judicial procedures used in the Church, including the handling of contentious and penal cases.
The Code of Canon Law is an essential tool for the governance and discipline of the Catholic Church. It is important to note that the Eastern Catholic Churches have their own distinct codes, such as the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches. Additionally, individual dioceses and religious orders may have their own particular laws and statutes, provided they do not conflict with the universal law of the Church.

Vatican silent on woman serving as ‘vicar general's representative’
Vatican silent on woman serving as ‘vicar general’s representative’
A woman serving as a vicar general’s representative has heard nothing from the Vatican since her appointment. Stephanie Rieth (pictured) began her new role in April, in the German Diocese of Mainz. She says she’s not surprised by the lack of reaction in Rome to the new arrangement, although it constitutes a unique “model” in Germany. “I am not surprised … because the possibility of creating this…

Dude I don’t know where you’re getting this information that 13-14 guys can’t be tall at all. Literally every guy in my freshman high school grade (13-15 year olds) were all 5’6-6’0 at the beginning of the school year and they were all actively growing taller as the year went by. Letting people think Nico is average height or tall is not hurting nobody and you are still entitled to your opinion that Nico can be short. I believe all of Nico’s of various heights can coexist peacefully.
I did say "average" height and was only referring to the fact that Nico's canon height is never explicitly stated. Anyways allow me to rephrase:

my grievances only lie with the wiki for being baselessly wrong. tall nico headcanoners i have no beef with you understand i am simply being silly goofy on my blog mwah mwah

1 - The Mandalorian Code Reinterpretation as it Currently Stands
Tumblr media
[Text in image is as below]
i) Strength is Life; for the strong have the right to rule.
a) Strength as a rule can refer to moral strength, personal physicality, strength of character, strength of will, and the strength to endure, complete, or see a task to its completion. b) Strength refers not to power, but to inner strength. The strength of one’s Mandokar, one’s conviction, one’s honour, and one’s commitment to their clan and their people. c) Those who hold power, both political and physical, but no moral, personal, or true strength cannot be considered apt to rule or have right to authority.
ii) Honor is Life; for without honour you may as well be dead.
a) Honour is the understanding of the fundamental difference between Vengeance and Revenge. b) Honour is a warrior who values their kin’s and their own honour above petty disputes and personal gain. c) Honour is for those who answer the call of their Manda’lor, and call to arms against a false Manda’lor whose rule would make Mando’ade into Demagolkase.
iii) Loyalty is Life; for without one’s clan one has no purpose.
a) Loyalty is the lasting duty, responsibility and commitment to a cause, a clan, and a leader. b) Loyalty to a Clan and a House can be through contributing to the Clan’s welfare, raising children within the Clan and House’s protection, and coming to the aide of Clan Members in need. c) Loyalty to Mandalore, and its people, is to uphold the Resol’nare, and maintain one’s oaths, and seek redemption for misdeeds and failures. d) Loyalty to the Manda’lor, is to be loyal to the Manda’lor that is deserving of the loyalty of a Mandalorian.
iv) Death is Life; one should die as they have lived.
a) A Mando’ade’s life is their word, if a Mando’ade wishes to commit themselves to one creed, their creed cannot be posthumously changed or altered past their death. b) A Mandalorian is not expected to die for the creed, but to live by it, as a Mandalorian can only actively protect and serve their clan whilst they still live. c) Death is not to be feared, but celebrated, as it is a natural part of life.
[This is the entirety of this section as it currently stands. Any criticism is helpful! If anyone has any other ideas of how this section could be extrapolated, that would be awesome.]

Okay dudes, I have thought of something that I must share with you peops.
Okay, so we know the creator of Burt and Ernie from Sesame Street is a Queer Dude and intended them to be gay, right?
Like he literally shared that. (Of course the official Sesame Street gave an official statement trying to undo it.)
And of course, they're often referred to as brothers.
However on the Queer-coding end... First Pretending to be related/best friends was like classic gay Hollywood Hay's Code Era behavior.
(Which was totally doable because of the weirdness of how America did their records clear into the the 1960s. Pretty much if you knew a priest you could pretend you were anyone. Because baptismal and church records were considered proof enough of identity. For like Social Security Cards and Birth certificates.)
And Two, if you think about it, They were filmed and treated regarding bed time behaviors as any heterosexual couple would have been only decades prior via Hay's Code standards too. The classic talking to each other on the phone and filming it as if they're on the same bed beside each other but they obviously are not... was the work around to literally not being able to show a couple in bed together, nor imply that people were regularly sharing the same bed. (including Married Couples.)
Oddly The Brady Bunch actually had a significant bit of backlash because of showing the husband and wife sitting in bed together at the time. (More fun Queer Hollywood History for you: In the Brady Bunch (TV Show) Jan and Marsha were literally dating off-screen while acting as on-screen sisters and it was totally under wraps at the time...)
So yeah, not too long after Brady Bunch happened, and a real classic thing from Early Era Sesame Street was to show Burt and Ernie in separate beds separated only by a night stand, both in pajamas wishing each other good night. Which was identical to scenes common a few years before of Heterosexual married couples with kids.
Like it was literally right there in the text for people in the know who understood classic Hollywood conventions to imply relationships. Like they were totally using classic visual cues to imply that they were more than brothers. (And potentially that they weren't brothers at all at times. It's possible that my memory is rusty because It's been a hot minute since I've watched Classic Early Sesame Street. But I do remember them referring to each other as Roommates in near equal measure as brothers.)
Anyways the point is, that yes, Burt and Ernie were gay. (And also not related but would have shared a last name if Sesame Street started now.)

every time that “don’t use AI chat to talk to your favorite characters, find an RP partner!” post rolls around my dash I have to laugh bc like I agree in theory but I am always reminded that my one (1) attempt to get into the tumblr RP community years and years ago was the single most unpleasant online experience I think I’ve ever had. literally how do so many self-centered, cliquey, outrageously rude people exist in one place.

@ryusokcn liked [+] for a starter.
Tumblr media
The smells of gunpowder and blood. The distant booming or artillery fire. This is familiar to Trafalgar Law. A war zone is almost like home to him. It's where he died and where he was reborn into something twisted and angry. Doesn't mean he likes war. Still finds it needless and moronic but human greed and cruelty isn't going to stop so why the fuck should he care?
Usually, when finding himself amongst this kind of turmoil Law would get what he wants from the place and then slip away, the surgeon not even attempting to help either side, but this time he has a specific purpose for being here. A purpose for striding unbothered through a civil war wracked country. In this case his reason and path take him into rebel held territory. A battle scarred town turned into a war camp. It's dusty and smoke clouded but it has more intact building than the last town he walked through, even fortified. Good thing there isn't much that can stop the Surgeon of Death from going where he wants.
The doctor strides down a dark, tight alleyway. His steps echo on the sandstone cobbles, boots kicking up ash that still lingers. Behind him a couple men groan and grumble. The bodies of men who had tried to tell Law where he can't go. They're alive but in pieces. He did want to make a decent impression. Not gonna kill the people his potential info broker contact could be friends with.
As he steps out of the shadows into the heart of a bustling war camp Law sighs, posture slouching. The cloak and dagger involved in this meet up is so damn annoying. The contact didn't give a name or description. Only an item they'd be wearing to identify them to him. So golden eyes scan the surroundings, looking for his contact. He doesn't see them but he does see someone else.
Sabo, the second in command in the Revolutionary Army. It figures he'd be here. Can't have a local rebellion without the RA meddling. With a sigh Law turns his trajectory, the doctor striding over to the busy leader. The guy could be someone that'll help speed along Law's meeting, and sure drawing attention to himself might not be perfect but he doesn't think these people can kill him. He shoves a hand into his pocket, the back of Kikoku's naked blade resting on his shoulder.
"Oi, Rebel-ya," the Surgeon of Death projects to Sabo. "I'm lookin' for someone and I'm betting you can point me in the right direction."

on the subject of tags...
Hi! Do you know if there is a specific terminology to differentiate crossovers in which:
1. Character/s from media A are written in world from media B, with full knowledge of how it operates and are already integrated to some extent.
E.g: The Untamed characters in the Avatar world: the sects exist with the same name but belong to different countries, the Gaang might befriend the juniors, and Wei Wuxian was the most terrifying demonic blood bender to ever exist).
and
2. Characters from media A are transported (in time, in dimensions, dreaming, etc.) to world from media B, and have to adapt to a completely new and foreign rules and circumstances.
E.g: Wei Wuxian’s demonic experiments backfire one day and he finds himself in an unknown land where people can shoot fire from their fists and cause landslides with a stomp. He may or may not still raise the dead with his flute, just as he may or may not have access to bending himself by sheer dimensional osmosis, but he sure as hell has never heard of this type of elemental cultivation in his life.

Guidance informing priests accused of abuse criticised
Guidance informing priests accused of abuse criticised
A group representing U.S. Catholic priests has developed guidance informing priests of their canonical rights when they are accused of misconduct, including sexual abuse. Survivor advocates are critical of the move, saying providing guidance could help cast accused priests in an overly sympathetic light. The Association of U.S. Catholic Priests (AUSCP) say the guidance is necessary. It notes over…

okay, I’m in a slightly better mood. maybe that’s because I’m watching Crownies and honestly this entire branch of the public prosecution department is full of drama, that I kind of can’t help but wish that I was a fly on the wall watching everything unfold.

Map of the Catholic Diocese of Orlando, as of the 1st of January 2024
This seems odd but it's true. According to the 1917 Code of Canon Law, newly discovered territory is placed under the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the port of departure, which means that following the 1969 Moon Landing, which was based out of the Diocese of Orlando, the moon is a part of this diocese. The current Bishop of the Moon is His Excellency John Gerard Noonan, who is a Limerick man.

"it was awkward to see colin flirt and behave like a rake" "he gave me the ick" yes ! that is the fucking point!! congratulations! you have the media literacy skills of a fucking monkey because my 4-year old niece could understand it better than you do.
we are supposed to find colin cringey and annoying and get the ick because that is not who he is. he is not anthony, or simon, or even benedict. colin (apart from gregory) is the sweetest of all bridgerton brothers (i'm going by book canon) and his most identifiable character trait is the fact that he values an emotional connection above everything. he runs away to the continent because he wants to feel that emotional connection. he has meaningless sex in brothels because that is the example he has seen growing up, that is the norm. he tries so hard to fit into the norm. he goes out drinking, adopts an entirely new personality, learns flirtations because that is how he thinks he will fit in. he's got armour on, as violet said. he puts everyone's needs above his own, he stops rambling on and boring his family with details of his trip because he knows no one cares. he doesn't talk to anthony or benedict about his heartaches because he knows they still, somewhere in their heart of hearts, view him as the annoying younger brother. he's so devastated by his closest friend not responding to him that he adopts a new personality in the hopes that it might mask the hurt better. he runs after penelope in episode one because he is so attuned to her emotions that he knows she's hurting, and tries to comfort her even when she's spiraling and lashes out. he must have been hurt by her words in the "good night mr bridgerton" scene but he puts it aside to genuinely apologise to her when literally no one else in that family would do that. colin, instead of brooding over his own feelings, goes and corners penelope in her family's garden and apologises to her, disregarding his own hurt at being cruelly dismissed by his close friend.
penelope asking colin to kiss her is not a mark of how "pathetic" she is. she has written and shamed herself in a manner that is almost entirely unsalvageable. she is at her lowest point, and then portia comes in and reminds her of how undesirable she is, and she sinks even lower. she asks colin to kiss her because she sees it as a final act, after which she can quietly wave goodbye to her dreams of ever getting married and leaving her mother's home. colin kisses her because he is also keenly aware of how she's feeling. he knows how hurt she is, he wants to do anything to alleviate that. be it cracking a joke, or kissing her. he is gentle, because he wants it to be something she can dream of when she's by herself. penelope, at this moment, has no hope for herself, and their kiss is an act of letting go for her. no, it's not a pity kiss, no he did not like her after her glow up, he has always loved her. him being struck dumb is a reaction to her physical transformation, nothing more. he does not flirt with her in that ballroom scene, he only approaches her when she's in distress. he's not flirting with her. i can assure you penelope could wear the frumpiest most neon yellow gown of all time and colin would still go "<333 my pen" for her.
colin jumps to catch the balloon's ropes because he sees that penelope is in danger, he does not give a shit about anyone else lmao. he feels temporary relief when he sees eloise run to safety, but the moment he sees penelope in immediate danger, he rushes to take action. afterwards, when he sees that she's being comforted by debling (all my homies hate debling, even if he is aro/ace coded i do NOT claim him) he does not approach her. it would be easy for him to do so, but he does not, because he respects her boundaries. colin bridgerton is the only man in the ton who respects women (the featherington sons-in-laws are too pretty to have a thought) he calls out fife and his friends for treating women like objects and calls them cavalier. the only way he would have been more explicit about his demisexuality was if he tap danced on the club table (entertaining thought, luke newton please)
colin also rapidly takes action, something which no one in the show has done so far. simon would have died instead of accepting his feelings for daphne, daphne would have been content with a loveless marriage forever instead of asking for help. kate would have pushed edwina down the aisle and gone off to india instead of confronting her own feelings, and anthony would have married edwina if she hadn't been brave enough for the three of them to run from the altar and ruin herself. penelope stood on the sidelines for years and loved him quietly because she had no hope of him loving her back. colin, the moment he is assured of his feelings, runs to penelope, almost kisses her in the middle of a ballroom. when he hears that debling is about to propose, he goes to the ball, just to dissuade penelope one more time. he cuts into their dance because he's desperate. when he runs after her carriage, he asks her if she has been proposed to, because he would not have touched her otherwise. he confesses his feelings to her only when he knows that she hasn't gotten engaged to debling, and when she says "but we are friends" he moves away. nothing more. he would have let her go, if she did not return his feelings.
idk whether i should be flattered or offended at people misunderstanding this season because on one hand it is offensive, but on the other hand, it means only smart people get polin. seriously. your minds have been rotted by insta-love and enemies to lovers that you can't even appreciate the innate beauty of friends to lovers. being friends with someone and then holding all those feelings for them. the trepidation of possible rejection. the fulfillment of being loved by the person who knows you the best of them all. the privilege of loving someone whose feelings you know better than your own. love is gentle and kind and yes it is a violent, uprooting force but above all, love does not hurt anyone. it does not hurt you. i could love someone quietly for years and it wouldn't bother me if their feelings were requited or not because my feelings are none of their business and i consider it a privilege to love and be loved by them, even if it is not in the way i would want it to be. polin are privileged in the highest sense. they know each other better than anyone else, they know how to love each other better than anyone else. to think they are rushed or they dont deserve each other is a disservice to both of them. they would be miserable with anyone else.
in other matters, if i see one more person talking smack about luke or nicola behind the safety of their screens i will personally get a bazooka.

The pope is bound by the code of canon law, he can’t just do fuck-all for shits and giggles. Extreme example, but if hypothetically a pope came out and said “I’ve lost faith, I’m an atheist, there is no God nor Jesus,” Catholics wouldn’t suddenly be bound to all become atheists, he’d just be removed as pontiff. That’s what the cardinals are for
If the Pope said the world was made of pudding the world would be made of pudding. He has that power and does not use it.
