EXCLUSIVE: The Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson sci-fi thriller Mercy is adding four with A Star Is Born‘s Rafi Gavron, Chris Sullivan, Kenneth Choi and Kylie Rogers.

Timur Bekmambetov directs the Amazon MGM Studios project, which was penned by Marco van Belle. It follows a detective (Pratt) who is accused of a violent crime, and must prove his innocence is a future where capital crime has swelled.

True Detective: Night Country‘s Kali Reis and Blinders’ Annabelle Wallis also star in the movie which is hitting theaters on Aug. 15, 2025.

Mercy is produced by Oscar-winning Oppenheimer producer Charles Roven. He’s producing Mercy with Atlas Entertainment SVP Robert Amidon alongside Bekmambetov’s BEL banner and Majd Nassif.

My thoughts on the different recorded versions of wait for me:

2010 concept album:

Kinda just sounds like a Bon Iver song

Because that’s what it is

^not a complaint

Hermes whispering makes me deeply uncomfortable

NYTW live recording:

I love Damon Daunno’s voice in this

Reeve Carney’s voice suits the role better but in this song Daunno’s just. Shines.

Obviously doesn’t have a lot of the stuff Broadway does like the fates

Harmonies are absolutely magical

Gorgeous and eerie

Broadway cast album:

I would donate a kidney to Andre de Shields

Has the fates verses

I love the fates and Jewelle Blackman’s deep voice

The worker’s chorus makes a big difference

Reeve Carney is of course ethereal

Not really relevant but the staging is obviously amazing and just very atmospheric and sets the scene of the whole show very well

The Tonys performance is fantastic

At the Tony’s when he sings the first “wait for me” the whole chorus comes in together and it’s soooo on point and shocking and beautiful

In the recording he sings that bit mostly alone which doesn’t have the same impact
