I just thought of something....
In most TMNT Incarnations, Casey and April either end up together or have romantic air around them.
And the Foot Recruit is Cassandra Jones - Casey for her friends. ...does that mean that she and April were meant to end up together in some way? Because ...I'm all for it. It would be a nice change of the established status quo.

Chuckles snapped a glance at the clock on his cellphone.
Twenty minutes.
Twenty minutes late.
Opening his messages he tapped on the most recent one.
You got time for a call?
Fingers tapped as he stood, taking another sip from the smoothie he had ordered.
CJ responded quickly enough.
Sure bro. Wazzup?
He bailed again. Chuckles hit send, tongue swiping over his lip. Not bailed. Ghosted.
A chat bubble popped up, vanished. Reappeared. It was okay. Chuckles was going to take the bus. Patrol last night had been sweltering, even in his summer gear. Getting up early for this meeting had soured his mood.
"Least I got a smoothie." He muttered, sipping again as he pulled up to the bus stop, falling against the sign and glancing at his vibrating phone.
That mother fucker. Chuckles grinned. CJ always felt the rage he couldn't. I'll kill him. That's some motherless behavior right there.
That earned a snort. Chuckles balanced his cup in his elbow, feeling the need to defend. I dunno. Maybe he had something come up or something.
No. Nearly immediate. You aren't making excuses for that sorry sack of personality flaws.
Chuckles smiled wide. You're right. I know you are. Thanks bro.
