ShikaSaku Headcanons

Shikamaru adores how strong Sakura is. He loves watching her train, under the guise of cloud-watching, and seeing the way her entire body is honed into a weapon. Shes easily stronger than him, and whenever they spar no chakra, she wins like, 7 or 8 times out of 10.

Shikamaru is in love with Sakura's forearms. He loves how strong they are, especially compared to his, and he loves loves loves it when she crosses her arms over her chest and the muscles get more defined. Has spent many mindless hours tracing the single bulged vein that goes up her left forearm.

Sakura has a late schedule, always filling out paperwork or reading a book, so Shikamaru has an alarm set for 1 AM. If she isn't in bed by then, he'll force her to go sleep (unless she still has work, in which case he helps her finish it and drags her to bed). 9/10, Sakura falls asleep to Shikas breathing and heartbeat in her ear where he cradles her against his chest.

Sakura hates shogi, but shes good at it. She plays a single round of it with Shikamaru after dinner, and whoever loses has to do the dishes. Sakura usually loses, but Shikamaru will still help her anyway. The same cannot be said when Sakura wins.

They have to replace their kitchen table like twice a month (about how often Sakura wins their shogi matches).

Shikamaru has a really nice singing voice, but nobody but Sakura and his mom know. Sakura will hear him singing while doing things like shower or cook and she stops and listens with a small smile on her face every single time.

(Sakura sounds like a dying bird when she sings)

When Shikamaru first realized he was attracted to Sakura, he began gossiping with Ino in the hopes he would find out more about Sakura. He began asking questions, and Ino immediately figured out what he wanted and gave him the obligatory Best Friend Shovel Talk (Threat)™, then proceeded to tell him every thing he needed to swoon her. (Unfortunately, he also knows a lot more about Kiba and Neji then he ever really wanted to)

Shikamaru will eat lunch with Sakura every day (the only exceptions are if one of them is out of town or Sakura is doing surgery, in which case he'll leave a hearty meal on her desk to eat and replenish her chakra with after). He has an alarm on his watch that goes off at 1:30 on the dot, and he's been known to up and leave important meetings involving clan heads and village elders without a word.

Shikamaru and Sakura have multiple matching tattoos.

Shikamaru loves getting his hair washed by Sakura, and in return Sakura gets the most heavenly back massages. Its not an every night thing, it mostly happens if one or both of them gets home after a mission and need to unwind.

It's about how Lewis still hurts and hurts and hurts and never forgets never quite forgives, still can't say Nico's name. Can't bear to talk about their time as teammates, because he too cradles a part of their history in his heart but it's not the sweets Nico bought for him nor the ice cream they ate together (neither of which Lewis eats anymore because he's vegan now which good for him but point). It's the hurt, the pain, the heartbreak. It's the broken trust and it's Nico leaving him Formula one.

Lewis remembers their broken friendship, Nico remembers the friendship itself.

Rin uses sugar cookie chapstick

Bon's favorite flower is the Giant Teddybear Sunflower. He'll mever admit it to anyone, not even on his death bed, but its what originally inspired his iconic blond mohawk

Shima is a huge disco fan. He's great at dancing- tho he'll never admit it- and there are multiple instances of him being caught dancing when hes by himself. He loves the fashion, and if he had the coordination to roller skate he'd never leave the rink

Konekomaru and Rin are both nonbinary and use they/he pronouns

Izumo likes punk/rock music and can play the guitar and drums

Shima and Shiemi like to watch anime together. They both love romance, slice-of-life, and magic girl animes

Yukio is fluent in English, Latin, and Portugese

Rin is a good at scrapping, as we all know, and once he starts taking his Knight classes he learns muay thai (and is also very good at it)

Shima has dyscalculia

Konekomaru loves pillows. His bed is absolutzly covered them, with one blanket that barely covers him on top of it all

hsfshfhkdvmdhacvbb, oh, fantastic concept, u both are onto something fantastic. For a second i was like. wait two rooms or everyone crammed into one room. And then i saw the light and the light said both would be good in different ways actually. They have full days of exhausting high energy competition where they work with each other or against each other and fight and celebrate and commiserate and then. they go back. and share a room. and maybe a bed oops. AND THEN. who knows. Where they're tired! or contemplative! or still bleeding off energy! or riled up and not wanting to talk about it. or exhausted. and cuddly. or triumphant and still on an adrenaline high they do something rash..... 👀🧐

Also specifics wise like. imagine Courtney Amanda accidentally flirting a bit TOO hard over the course of the day? Angela and Arasha getting wildly in sync/in the zone with each other as they compete and maybe not being able to/wanting to snap out of it at the end of the day? OR. Competition gets too fierce between teams during the day and Amangela/Courtrasha need to. Hm. Make amends? Smooth the tension? Relieve the tension? Hash things out? Maybe people feeling odd about how well other parties work together? opportunities are endless.

(god 4 people in this dynamic is just so good logistics wise. you can get 2 people having Obvious Tension or Emotions or etc and the other two are either trapped IN THAT SAME ROOM or they get kicked out of their own rooms and have to go to the other, or they're scheming to lock the other two together. etc. or everyone is a fucking disaster collectively. also a great option.)
