Awful thought of the day

If Ballister had died in the joust, as he very well could have, Ambrosius would not have been long to follow.

I think he'd manage to dissociate from the experience for a couple years, tops. Become the champion, etc. But considering how we can see how loose his grip on reality got as a result of the joust, I imagine if it had gone worse he'd have just lost it.

Goldenheart Week 2024 Prompts

Each day has four prompt options to choose from: a "Goldenheart" prompt, a "Blackloin" prompt, an AU, and a quote from the movie or comic. There are also five alternative prompts if you are not inspired by any of the options for a given day.

All kinds of fanworks are welcome: digital art, traditional art, 100 word drabbles, ficlets, longer fics, poems, embroidery, cosplay, music, gif sets, vids, etc.

Day 1/June 27: Firsts (meeting, kiss, "I love you," etc) | Memory | Commoner Ballister AU (Ballister doesn't become a knight)

Day 2/June 28: Forgiveness | Apologies | Prince Ballister AU (Queen Valerin makes Ballister her heir instead of a knight)

also the way that the nimona movie showed that hate is a taught behavior?? the way that gloreth, the hero worshipped for slaying monsters, was fully accepting of nimona until her mother told her what to believe? until that generational bigotry was passed down? the way the director’s motive wasn’t even power like most evil government figureheads in media, but rather a fear of monsters destroying the kingdom because that hate had been instilled in her too, like it had in gloreth? the way ballister was also indoctrinated into hatred of “monsters” until he was just as outcast as one? because only then was he willing to change and learn?? and how even people with good hearts and good intentions like ballister and ambriosius and even the queen herself are still capable of perpetuating bigotry and unnecessary violence when they don’t take the time to understand or learn about the “others” they supposedly hate????????? i need to lie down
