I love this latest ad from Samsung making fun of iPhone users like myself.
The schtick is great fun and is executed well. And the message, as with the Cannes-Lion-winning spot, "Join the Flip Side," is that once you see this phone and what it does, you'll have to switch. It's an audacious claim that's made plausible by such entertaining film.
I, like most consumers, have little patience for edits that are too long and too self-indulgent. This 2:05 uses every second well.
The casting, performances, cinematography, music, edit – everything here is beautifully done. (My only question: To be a true horror movie spoof, why not set it at night?)
It looks SO American, but the agency is Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam, and the directors are Mathias Nordli Eriksen and Matias Rygh from Denmark.
