Eclipse

so gonna rant a little here about this.

Scar's been my favourite pov for this season and a few weeks ago i got the thought of what would the space symbol lore thing be for scar if he won, and i landed on an eclipse, the vibes just felt so fitting.

I looked it up and found eclipse symbolises the disruption of natural order and was believed to be a bad omen, and that just cemented my thoughts on it.

The way he was alone with no allies for most of the time, thought to be really bad at surviving, and despite that, he managed to defy the odds and win against some of the strongest fighters. I'd sat that very well qualifies as a disruption of natural order. And he was often seen as a bad omen because of his chaos and villain tasks, making people avoid him.

I let this thought simmer at the back of my mind hoping he'd win and i could draw and put this idea out there, the chances were slim, but im so happy it actually came true and i can share this thought with all of you :D

(of course there's more parralels to be drawn with Scar killing Pearl, 'the moon', last, as well as other parralels with grian, but i'll just leave it off there for now :) )

“Are you satisfied?” the hero laughs, just barely resisting a wince at the pain that shoots through their side at the movement. They’re unceremoniously sprawled on the ground and, in an attempt to get some of their dignity back, they push themselves up into a sitting position. The hero swears they see the villain frown for a moment, but they blink and their enemy is smirking as always. They must be seeing things. “No, not really,” the villain quips, staring down at them with their arms crossed over their chest. They look significantly blurrier, for some reason. Did the hero suddenly lose the ability to see clearly? What is happening here?

“Hm,” the hero remarks. They’re about to continue speaking when a cough crawls its way out of their throat. They cover their mouth with a palm, wincing at the sharp pain that courses through their side as their chest constricts. To the hero’s surprise, when they remove their hand but a few moments later, their skin is speckled with blood. “Well, that’s not good.” The hero huffs, not quite sure where their amusement is coming from. Regardless, the look on the villain’s face somehow adds to their delight. Soon, laughs are ripping out of their throat for no discernible reason.

“What-”

“I’m... going to die,” the hero laughs. Their limbs feel incredibly heavy all of a sudden. They slowly lean back until their head falls against the wall at their back. Their vision doesn’t react too well to the sudden change in altitude, and black dots tear holes into their vision. The hero can just barely make out the villain standing over them, through the blurry darkness threatening to overtake them. The last thing they see before falling into the void is the uncharacteristically pinched expression on their enemy’s face.

I love how the villain is all talk. Like they'll threaten the hero constantly about killing them, detail gruesome ways in which they're going to murder them, but the moment the hero is actually injured, suddenly they're hesitant. Pick a lane and stick to it, villain! Lolz.

I can’t help writing oblivious heroes. It’s my weakness. My Achilles heel, if you will.
