Ok so I could go on forever abt him bec he's like a secondary villain in Po3 but here's me rambling abt his motives:
His mother Brindleface taught him this idea if the perfect Thunder Warrior life, become a respected warrior, get a loving and dedicated mate, have kits, cary on your legacy. He believed his mother deserved this over anyone else and yet... her mate was Darkstripe who cared little for her or his kits and ended up betraying them all. And to top it all off his mother was killed simply for dog bait by the bastard his father was obsessed with.
Ashfall became obsessed with going above and beyond in achieving this perfect life. He wanted to make his mother proud, he wanted to have what she had wanted as some sort of way to make up for her short life.
He becomes jealous of MANY cats who seem to have achieved this life so easily, he becomes isolated from much of the order... He has caused a rift in his relationship with his sister due to his judgment over her choices (she chose to not follow this lifestyle their mother taught, she had kits on her own and didn't take a mate for years) , at one point Ash even implied that Fern's kits' deaths were the fault of them not having a father....
Ash becomes OBSESSED with Squirrelflight, to him she is the perfect mate, she is not only a young, beautiful and strong Thunder Molly, she is also the daughter of the Leader and Second... if he were to become her mate he would be part of the leadership's family. Their kits would be heirs and if Squirrelflight become leader, Ash himself could have a chance at being Second. To him this was the peak of the honorable warrior's life , to achieve this would be the greatest success. To him he "loved" Squirrelflight because she was a symbol of his chance at that life he so desperately wanted.
Squirrelflight left him because he was obsessive and she could tell he loved the idea of her instead of her... and she knew she still loved someone else (Crowfeather). Ashfall was DEVASTATED, it was as though his whole future had been ripped away from him. Its no wonder he switched to being obsessed with vengeance instead.

Also similar to his reasons for becoming attached to Squirrelflight, Ash became obsessed with Hawkfrost bec he symbolized Ash's new goals. Hawk would give him vengeance, Hawk would love him, Hawk would make him his mate and Second, Hawk would help him get the final laugh.

Hello!
Welcome to the first official post on the Parallax Games development blog where I am happy to announce the production of our interactive fiction games Ashfall and Arete.
Ashfall
Ashfall is a high fantasy interactive fiction game with dark elements. You play as a thjo- a thief- or at least that’s what the Dwarvenar of the mercenary camp you stumbled upon calls you, for as hard as you try you cannot remember the life you led before our story begins. However, when the leader of the camp suggests you put your forgotten roguish skills to use, memories slowly begin to trickle in. But not all of your past is found in the recesses of your broken mind. Who is the whispering woman that no one else can see? And why does she look like you? Ashfall is currently in development and will release in chapters.
Arete
Arete is a sci-fi/fantasy, horror interactive fiction game. Arete is in pre-production and will release in chapters.

Yes they have!
Current plans:
first off his name is Ashfall now bec it fits him just so well <3
Ash allies even more with Hawkfrost in this au, leading to them falling in terrible love with each other. Ash has an obsessive way of loving and Hawk is his new infatuation after Squirrelflight, and this time the object of his affection returns it and also hawk loooves how he now has a weirdo dude who would literally do anything for him.
Ash and Hawk plan the fire on Thunder territory together and Ash starts it. He does the fire scene as he still absolutely wants revenge against Squirrelflight for dumping him, he wants to kill her kits in the fire, but then he gets a better idea... He knew that Hawk has a suspicion that at least some of Squirrel's kits were actually Mothwing and Leafpool's, and Ash realized that if this was true the fall out would be FAR worse for Squirrel than killing her kits would be. So he asks her if the 3 are truly hers, he reveals that he knows that Leaf and Moth had kits of their own.... where did those kits go exactly?
Squirrel doesn't answer this, but to the 3, her face is answer enough. Squirrel ends up attacking Ash to try to get him out of the way, the fire is getting way to close, they cant just wait around anymore, also fuck this guy. She ends up sending Ash over the side of the fallen tree and into the flames, presumably to his death.
HOWEVER this man has too much determination, he gets up and drags himself out of the flames and is found very burnt and scarred by Hawkfrost. Ash is then taken back to River Order camp and nursed back to health by Mothwing who is currently not allowed to leave camp under any circumstances (Hawk cant have her going to her gf and telling on him now can he?).
Ash ends up surviving, though with quite a few burn scars and a slash across his face from Squirrelflight. And after the death of Hawk's previous deputy, Ash is made Hawk's new Second. Ash's survival and place as River's new Second is dramatically revealed at a full moon gathering where he just shows up after being presumed dead and causes extreme chaos.
....
I dont have solid plans for after this, but I still want Hollyleaf to kill him, I havent decided how or when but its just such a fun thing I don't want to loose it. Also I dont know if im going to have Ashfall reveal Squirrel and Leaf's secret or if Holly still does that... maybe Holly and Ash get into a fight at a gathering and everything is revealed during it very dramatically ... idk
oh ya and note: during the fire scene Holly assumes that she too is one of Leaf and Moth's kits, but afterwards Squilf comes clean and tells Holly that she is actually Squrrel's only kit. This is even worse to Holly bec it makes her start to realize, she isnt part of the 3...

The "Fallout: Ashfall is woke" cringe compilation.
This will b a blog post compiling all of the insane garbage people who don't like Fallout: Ashfall say about it. The mod doesn't even have an official trailer out and it has already made people unreasonably angry at it. Don't believe me? Just look for yourself.
Content warning: Cringe, transphobia and rightoids being hyperbolic idiots.
I should mention that the "anonymous tip" screenshots come from a Anti-Woke youtuber who just sort of decided to take everything this "anonymous tip" said with 100 percent seriousness. For example, the guy just sends the anti-woke youtuber fake TurboSquid screenshot. This guy just took a picture of the submarine from the Fallout: Ashfall discord server and squished it down to fit inside of the TurboSquid site. If you don't believe me, I'll post a copy of the picture on their discord here so you can notice the difference between it and the screenshot the "anonymous tip" gives.
The "tip" also claims that the project lead, AshfallDude, is a trans woman. From what I can tell, there's no evidence to suggest that he's trans. Also I would like to ask: If AshfallDude is a transfem, then why does he call himself AshfallDude and not AshfallBabe or something like that? Like c'mon it's bad enough that you guys are getting on someone's case for being trans, but you're not even getting angry at an actual trans person.
These guys also think that someone named Luka Starflower is secretly in control of the mod and "runs parts of the New Vegas modding community as a crime lord". As far as I can tell, the only people who really believe this are ex-Ashfall developers who run on the middle school logic of "he's friends with a girl, that must mean they're dating" because I cannot find any information on Luka beyond how a bunch of ex-Ashfall developers, including the former lead writer and a composer, left the mod specifically because of her.
Actual high school drama tier shit.
And of course you know these guys are TksMantis fans. Also for some reason this guy likes to compare himself and other anti-woke idiots to The Avengers.
I haven't really heard of Fallout: Ashfall until all this weird anti-woke outrage happened. From the sounds of hit the Ashfall Dev Team was gutted by having a bunch of anti-woke types and transphobes being either removed or leaving the mod.
I hope the mod does well, it would be a shame if a post-Frontier DLC sized mod was shut down because of idiots like Allout Monty.
