Angel Dust: (teasing) I'm just saying! This guy's clearly down bad for Smiles. It's plain as day, and kinda sickening.
Alastor: Now hold on; I can deal with your crass remarks usually, but don't you think you're taking it a step too far? Honestly, not everything is as you imagine it in your depraved little mind-
Vox: No, he's right. I did have a thing for you.
[Loud static screech. All hotel residents now staring openly with varying degrees of interest.]
Vox: And after everything I fucking did for you, you still had the nerve to shoot me down after stringing me along, you ungrateful piece of shit!
Angel Dust, Charlie, Vaggie, Husk, Niffty, Frank, and Alastor: WHAT!?
Lucifer: Alastor, why are you surprised?

It's so weird that in angel s5e2 they do a little flashback to Spike's blaze of glory moment in the last episode of Buffy... but they leave out Buffy saying "I love you". It's such a blatant omission, the ONLY omission from that scene, that it feels totally deliberate and kind of dishonest. Considering a lot of the Spike and Angel moments in S5 revolve around their jealousy and rivalry towards each other, and a LOT of that is to do with Buffy like... Why would you leave it out? It's a pretty big moment for Spike's character in general.
As far as I recall they don't even mention it, they just mention the fact that Spike and Buffy have had a lot of sex compared to bangel's ONE disastrous time (that they remember) but it does kind of cheapen it for Spike. A big motivation for him not leaving LA could have been him not wanting to hold Buffy to her words, since he clearly doesn't believe that she loves him (even though she does, as per Whedon). He presumably thinks she only said that to make him feel better in his final moments, because she wouldn't have to actually follow through on her words. Which is sad. But it makes much more sense as a motivation than the weird 'it cheapens my moment of glory' excuse like since when does spike give a shit about that

Considering how Angel took care of Nifty, and how Husk is canonically good with children, I can headcanonically conclude that Angel and Husk would be—if not good —great parents.

There was gonna be more but, well, y'know 😒
So last night I got struck by the idea lightning and started spontaneously working on a Mafiafell self insert au because I'm insane. Underfell is already basically my favorite au, and while Mafiafell has it's problems (glances surreptitiously at that one infamous fic and comic) I think it has a lot of potential

serious question and i mean no offence but can you explain why you consider edwin and charles a qpr when it's clear (and acknowledged) that edwin has romantic feelings for charles? do you consider their relationship a qpr because edwin's feelings aren't reciprocated?
Hi anon! No offence taken, it's a valid question.
Before I go into it, I have to say: this is always my own headcanons as an ace person who is in a QPR and holds the concept of queerplatonic relationships very close to his heart. People can have any opinions they'd like, it's all fine, they're fictional characters, it has no impact in real life.
Ok so, Edwin has romantic feelings for Charles, this bit is true, but with one person's feelings, you can't define an entire relationship between more than just that person. Whether you think Charles has romantic feelins back (or will develop them in the future) that is irrelevant now. Their relationship is not a romantic one.
While it is not a romantic relationship, it is more than what society sees as frienship, it blurs the lines (as someone on tumblr mentioned). It breaks social norms. Like for example, Charles declaring he wouldn't go to Hell for anyone else. That to me means their relationship could easily fall under the QPR umbrella :')
I think in this case at least, their romantic feelings (or lack there of) are sort of irrelevant to my QPR headcanon. If Edwing wasn't in love with Charles, and we didn't have the longing looks and the confession, I would still call their relationship a queerplatonic one.
Just in case, not necessarily for you anon, I'm gonna leave here the AVENwiki entry for Queerplatonic. Cause people might benefit from an actual definition and objective information ;)

what do you think is the reason for only Tyler, Angel Face, and Bob (and the Narrator) to have hair while everyone else has mostly shaved it off? I have my own theory, but I'd like to hear what you think.
Realistically: they're all the higher profile actors, lol. Very simple truth of it. For stuff like that, that's obviously a result of studio oversight and pr teams both not wanting their darlings to be shaved, I don't bother making an in-story reasoning.
That said,
the narrator himself does not shave his head in both the book and movie and it points to his lack of commitment. In the movie he doesn't participate in Project Mayhem at all unless Tyler's there pushing him, he can't let go and follow Tyler, not even if it just means a haircut. Unless Tyler's there to baby and bully him through, he's stuck in inertia. In the book, he's much more into Project Mayhem, taking Tyler's orders from the mechanic. But he's an automaton. You feed orders in, get results, and he commits to nothing else. It doesn't even cross his mind to develop further. Again, inertia. Slightly different flavor.
Part of what likely holds him back, too, is that Tyler hasn't told him to; in the movie, that means maybe he's special. He wants to be special. Movie narrator can't let go of that beautiful little stage where it was just him and Tyler and he was Tyler's little pet project and they were able to do stupid shit and tell society to fuck off but he could also get paid or at the very least didn't have to wrestle with the fact that his darling Tyler isn't content with just them becoming asocial recluses. Tyler wants change for everyone, not just him. In the book, it moreso means he's very much out of the loop. The space monkeys only start shaving their heads after he's collected his 12 human sacrifices and is going cross country trying to find Tyler. His priority is finding Tyler. And then he finds out he is Tyler. No time left.

hmmmmmm
so, let me get this straight
the polin fandom spent 2 entire years hating on marina for being ooooh so awful and sooooo terrible to colin for lying to him and would 'make him miserable' and despised her for getting in between our otp
but also in the same breath said how much they need to see him suffer and for penelope to 'make him pay' and that he needs to be screaming crying throwing up for her forgiveness and she doesn't NEED to tell him about LW, that's HER business
and now in the exact same breath are hyping up mr. monopoly man debling and saying we need to be positive about him and omg he likes penelope for who she is (he doesn't) and he's going to make colin soooo jealous and . . .loving him. . .for getting in between our otp
hmmmmmmmmmmm

having thoughts about how Husk actually has very little left to redeem bc he started his journey of self-change before even coming to work at the hotel, but at the same time redemption isn't even his goal- he ain't even aiming for heaven, he just wanted to be a better person and maybe now with friends and especially Angel, who he supports so much and wants to see succeed, maybe now he has a reason to be a better person
#hazbin hotel#husk#warning I am about to ramble in these tags O7 I have a ridiculous amount of thoughts about this cat bird man#thinking about that word of god from vivzie that Husk is actively fighting his gambling addiction in hell#which besides the pilot we've only seen his gambling mentioned in the past#and idk if it's just because they had to focus on other things but we don't see him drinking as heavily as he did in the pilot#and first few episodes. like he actually wants to be sober#we know he used to be an overlord and we assume that comes with all the terrible overlord qualities#(aka there's no such thing as a good slave owner)#but the Husk we know now has been on both sides of this chain#he knows and respects boundaries. consent is super important to him. this feels like a moral you can't really have to be an overlord#he also sees everyone as more than just what they can do for him specifically. he gets NOTHING out of being Angel's friend#he gets NOTHING out of defending Angel and Cherri during the fight with the Exorcists#he knows when to open up and who to open up to and trust. and he extends a hand to someone in need. someone he ain't even close to-#and if it hasn't changed he is trying to beat his own vices despite not even being a guest of the hotel. he's staff. he doesn't HAVE to#participate in their activities or try to change. he was dragged into this#but dammit he does it anyway#(also if he is still trying to beat his gambling addiction I wonder if the pilot was a relapse. hm)#anyway ig what im trying to say is husk isn't a guest at the hotel but plays the role of a guide for the guests bc he's already#got a very strong and *GOOD* set of morals considering they're in hell#like his level of morals we've only seen /explicitly/ shown in hellborn. and yeah consent and boundaries is rock bottom even for Earth#but they're in hell so somehow the bar manages to be even fucking lower than that so I consider it a win#ALSO THE FACT THAT HE STOOD BETWEEN ANGEL & CHERRI AND THE EXORCISTS??? this mf is willing to DIE for these people#I am 100% sure that if Husk's soul didn't belong to Alastor he would already be redeemed#we don't know what he did in life and we don't know how bad he was as an overlord but we know who husk is /now/#and that person is a pretty damn good guy#he might have some work to do sure but he's already at least started his redemption before the show even began and#we're just seeing the tail end of it#god damn I really rambled in these tags i am so sorry#I just have so many thoughts about him

The thing about Crowley is that he already tried fighting* the system and the end result was his fellow rebels making a new system suspiciously similar to the old system with torture pits and demotivational posters in place of the aggressive hypocrisy and kardashiancore interior decorating. And then after that he decided to fight the apocalypse and the apocalypse thwarted itself with minimal involvement required from him. His biggest contribution was fucking up a simple handoff completely accidentally. His apparent belief that it'll all sort itself out without him or it won't and either way his involvement will be largely irrelevant to everyone but himself is pretty well founded. I'm sure by the end of season three he'll have learned a valuable lesson about how admitting that you want to make positive contributions to the world is something you can do on your own terms and not simply an exercise in opening yourself up to god's preordained judgement and hell's torture pits and but he's old and tired and has probably never been kissed let him have a very specific vision for his retirement.
*ok his version of fighting was probably just asking a lot of very annoying questions and then semi-accidentally joining a rebellion.

Sanguine Archduke
More on becoming a daywalking vampire via Haarlep
What if it happened to Gortash? Maybe that's how he got out. Maybe Raphael was pissed Haarlep killed his pet artificer, and is angrier when he realises Gortash survived, and "snuck out" with the corpses (maybe it was Nubaldin that dumped his body).
Maybe the contract on him ended when he died, or maybe his soul stayed with Raphael, even if his body reanimated — Enver's mind persevered in it just from his brain.
Durge would love fucking a corpse bloodthirsty vampire, and they'd share sanguine treats instead of chocolates
If/when Gortash dies, Bane doesn't get ahold of his soul, maybe Durge found (and stole) a soul coin from the House of Hope...

thoughts on sound design and Divinity in ultrakill
#listening to things like#the sounds the virtues and their heavenly beam attacks make#or the hum of gabriel's light weapons#it's not the sound of an angelic choir. it's warbly and distorted and inorganic#almost like a synthesized imitation of more traditionally heavenly sound#and i don't remember if i've talked about it here. but that ties into the mechanical nature of heaven and its heirarchy#reading what the game has to say about gabriel. the wording very Very badly wants you to think of gabriel as a machine#as a weapon#the way the terminal talks about him and the way the council does#it's dehumanizing commodification#and that brings to mind the contrast the game sets up between angels and machines#because angels are counterpart to Robots in ultrakill's story. not demons#the game sets up conflict between Heaven and Earth. with hell just serving as a backdrop#and that shows in the way the game handles angels and machines#where the structure of heaven's forces is rigid and the sound of divinity is a synthetic growl#looking at ultrakill's scripture on machines on the other hand. you'll find that every robot described in the terminal has a story involving#some kind of deviation from originally manufactured purpose. form. design. aesthetic#they're really Wild Animals#they fight. they Live#they evolve and they mutate#they do whatever the hell they need to#and i find that fascinating. perfect contrast#again my fingers are crossed tighter than hell that the Violence layer plays with that animalism#or that machinekind is at least explored further somewhere else in the story#either way. can't wait#no one does hell like hakita#make it this far down i'd love to hear what you think
