Maybe it's because I've been watching dramas for more than a decade which is why I'm noticing these changes so clearly, but when did we go from a love story is two people falling in love and making equal strides towards each other with effort and sacrifice to a love story is a man making all the compromises and the grand gestures and declarations while the woman almost feels like a bystander in her own relationship. It's been happening for the last couple of years but this year takes the cake and I'm confused as to whether this is some sort of shoddy attempt at feminism by way of "a woman can do no wrong and a man is required to do all the heavy lifting in a heterosexual relationship" .

Troupe au where kid becomes the world's greatest villain, but because they use their cuteness and innocent look to get what they want. Hero adopts them and they become the cute kid who's a villain.
I’ve been staring at this for a while and now:
Izuku who goes back in time and becomes a hard core villain as a fuck you to everyone because his future had all his friends die NOT because of Shigaraki but because of society turning on them thanks to the remainder of the Commission.
Izuku runs the underground and torments Shigaraki and AFO along with the Commission. It ends up with Izuku getting caught by Nezu, who decides this is hilarious and leaves him be.
Then Inko dies and Nezu might you know, arrange for Izuku to be taken in by a hero.
And who else but Aizawa?

New Trek needs to stop this trend of using its marginalised characters for tragedy porn. Its white, straight, and/or abled characters never suffer as much or to the same extent. It is unacceptable, especially for these shows that repeatedly laud themselves for their diversity, to consistently put its diverse characters through more shit than anyone else.
