“This movie (Cinderella) changed the way little black girls believed in themselves, I hear to this day, I believe I can be a princess because of you.”- Brandy Norwood.
“I would say to the beautiful girls like you who watched the movie to just go after what you want in life. Don’t let anyone stop you or tear you down.”- Halle Bailey.
Fact 1: Lumiere kisses Cogsworth on the cheek on two occasions during the show.
Fact 2: Lumiere has a girlfriend, named Babette. She's a feather-duster/maid.
Fact 3: Lumiere does not kiss his girlfriend one single time during the show. (Unless you count the time he kissed her hand and immediately sneezed from the feathers.)
Source: The official script that I'm currently looking at and have read all the way through three times. (my school's doing Beauty And The Beast, I was recently cast as Cogs himself)
Anyway in the Beauty and the Beast musical after Belle flees from the Beast after wandering into the West Wing and finding the rose, instead of yelling at her to leave like in the movie, he accidentally lashes out at her and scares her and causes her to run, and the Beast calls after her desperately begging her not to go and trying to apologize he says “you don’t understand—there’s so little left of me—“ but the guy playing the Beast never gives this line the weight it deserves and it frustrates me to no end
This is your periodic reminder that Susan Egan, the voice of Megara from Disney's Hercules, also originated the role of Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast on Broadway.

She also gave a couple voices for the English dub of Ghibli films (Porco Rosso and Spirited Away), along with voicing Rose Quartz in Steven Universe and Future.
I vote that we give more Broadway actors the oppurtunity to voice act as well. She's incredible.
does anyone know where I can find/have access to the TV special “Beauty and the Beast: The Broadway Musical Comes to LA” (1995)? It was at the end of an April 12, 1995 recording of the musical that was on Youtube, but I haven’t been able to find a version with the special at the end or the special itself.
It was like a BTS documentary with interviews of the cast and I think they did a feature on Susan Egan where they went to her hometown. If anyone has it, I’d be very grateful.
This is the iMDB for it: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0233308/
