you can boycott. boycott starbucks, boycott mcdonald's, boycott nestle products, coke products, unilever products...there are so many fucking companies with their hands in israel's pockets (and vice versa) right now. even better, the boycotts are working. starbuck's stocks have dropped like crazy in the past couple of weeks; the world is feeling our collective effects. boycotts work if we stick to them. go to bdsmovement.net to learn about more companies you can boycott or pressure.

you can call your representatives. call and email your representatives every single day. you can call the white house. you can tell them that you are a registered voter and that you will not be voting for any candidate who does not demand a ceasefire. tell them that you will refuse to support any elected official who accepts bribes from AIPAC (such as democrats Brian Higgins, Gregory Meeks, Joseph Morelle, and Ritchie Torres of NY and Pete Aguilar, Ami Bera, and Julia Brownley of Cali). flood those motherfuckers with messages. it does more than you think.

you can share. get on social media and find those palestinian journalists and civilians who are sharing in real time scenes from Gaza. it's gruesome and it is horrifying, but people (especially those so removed from it) need to see it to understand. western media can only spread so much propaganda; when you've seen those dying children, people crying and searching through rubble for their families, something is bound to change. go to instagram and follow motaz (@motaz_azaiza), bisan (@wizard_bisan1), plestia (@byplestia), the heroes on the ground in gaza, risking their lives. they start each new post with "i'm still alive", often worrying that they may not be for long. palestinians are begging the rest of the world to listen and to tell their story in case they don't make it. they just want to be remembered. that's the very least we can do.

you can have conversations. talk to your friends, your family. post on social media. address it directly. it will be uncomfortable. you dont have to be aggressive about it; just try to appeal to people's humanity, present them with the facts, and if you must, show them the gruesome footage from gaza or the badly veiled propaganda from israeli officials. do anything you can to get them to care. tell them how they can help. get people talking about it, even just thinking about it.

you can educate yourself. i've learned more about the history of israel and palestine in the last few days than i ever had before. and let me tell you: learning the objective facts of history makes it 200% easier to know who to support.

you can support your muslim, jewish, and arab friends. they all need it right now. check in on them and see how they're doing. let them know that you're trying to do something; even though it feels small, it will mean something to them, i promise. let them know you're there and you support them.

please please share and do whatever you can to help those suffering without food, water, electricity, or medical care right now. don't be afraid of the issue because it's "sensitive" or "controversial". it's uncomfortable to face, but it should be more uncomfortable to allow thousands to die while we do nothing.

Nous adressons nos plus sincères condoléances à la famille, aux amis et aux admirateurs de Jean Jacques Benjamin, un musicien de l'ombre dont la lumière a brillé intensément dans les domaines de la musique et de la culture haïtienne. Né le 14 septembre 1931, Jean Benjamin n'était pas seulement un chanteur, mais aussi un pianiste et compositeur profond. Son décès le 2 mai 2024 nous a laissé un vide qui ne pourra jamais être comblé, mais son héritage résonnera à jamais à travers sa musique et les vies qu'il a touchées.

La voix de Jean était un phare d'inspiration et de joie pour un groupe élite de mélomanes, portant la riche histoire et l'esprit vibrant d'Haïti à travers les générations et les frontières. En tant que chanteur principal pour l'Orchestre Riviera Hotel sous la direction du Maestro Edner Guignard dans les années 1950, aux côtés de légendes telles que le regretté Guy Durosier, Jean Benjamin a mis en avant l'essence de la musique Big Band haïtienne, captivant les cœurs et les âmes avec des standards de Boléro haïtien jazzy et des compositions originales.

Ses mélodies, de la poignante: "Gisèle" dédiée à sa première épouse à l'émouvante: "L'amour", sont des trésors intemporels qui continuent d'inspirer et d'élever. Born on September 14, 1931, Jean Benjamin was not just a singer, but a profound pianist and composer. His passing on May 2, 2024, has left us with a void that can never be filled, but his legacy will forever resonate through his music and the lives he touched.

Jean's voice was a beacon of inspiration and joy for an elite group of melomanes, carrying the rich history and vibrant spirit of Haiti across generations and borders. As a premier vocalist for Orchestra Riviera Hotel under the direction of Maestro Edner Guignard in the 1950s, alongside legends like the late Guy Durosier, Jean Benjamin brought the essence of Haitian Big Band music to the forefront, captivating hearts and souls with jazzy Haitian Bolero Standards and original compositions.

His melodies, from the poignant "Gisèle" dedicated to his first wife to the stirring "L'amour," are timeless treasures that continue to inspire and uplift. Jean's artistry was a bridge, connecting the past with the present, tradition with innovation. His music, immortalized by recordings and performances, remains a testament to his extraordinary talent and his unwavering passion for his craft.

Captain Eric and Amy were on Squelch IV. They trudged down a sandy path between vine-covered trees. Despite the breathable atmosphere, they were both wearing respirators. Everywhere on Squelch IV smelled like a rotten egg's funeral.

She swatted at a mosquito. "Swamp planets are so disgusting. I feel like I've picked up sixteen different diseases since we got here this morning."

He flipped through the mission brief and groaned. "We have to meet with the Fungoid ambassador? He's so boring! I'm not lichen this at all. He's one of my yeast favorite people."

"No fungus jokes," Amy said. "We need their planet to sign a treaty."

"Don't worry, I won't mock the old stinkhorn. It just wouldn't be morel."

She sighed. "If you even mention puffballs, I'm calling HR."

Chapter 1 – hatred towards the abandoned house

It is my greatest consideration that you stop by my house, since very strange events are happening, in addition to that, there are people living there. Most of them are children between 10 and 15 years old and an undead is with them. Now my house is run by an owl and a bat. The town literally hates them, since those two kill people from the town along with the children. Children are not only humans, but monsters with official abilities. I also invited your friends to investigate the strange paranormal occurrences in my house. Thank you very much for reading my letter.

How scary... I never thought that her spirit could write this letter to me, the back of this letter of documents had a hand stamped but with blood. It was quite disturbing for Ami. Aside from that...That lady died a long time ago. In '92 she died. Legend has it that Adell Adewh made a pact with the devil and her spirit remained there after she died. Why do other people have it? Is it because she told them or... Anyway. This already seems like a joke to Ami. I won't let a joke laugh in my face. Why invite my friends? They are working...How is it possible that she writes this when she has been dead for a long time? Tomorrow I'll stop by her house, see how it goes.

I passed by her house... I noticed a lot of bad vibes in her plants. The garden was totally dry and dead. "Can there be so much bad vibes in a house?" I thought. Suddenly a notification rang from my cell phone. I checked to see who she is and it was a notification from X (Twitter now). A user named "chico_mal0666" followed me, at that moment I felt worried because I didn't know him but I didn't accept his friend request. It's quite strange. Who can invent that kind of username? I went to his profile, it had no cover photo, no banner, no description but something caught my attention. His location was "Village of Miracles." It was exactly where I live now. "Who could it be? I better not accept it" I thought with fear. I saw someone look out of the window of Adell's abandoned house but after 2 seconds they disappeared... I left there, ran to my house and felt fear and fear because of what I had seen. Strange things were happening. Not only Ami, but also a man who was my neighbor who took his life a few days ago. It was very gloomy but it was time for that demon to leave him alone. I think Ami must be experiencing the same thing as him. When I got home I prayed the Rosary so that the same things that happened to my neighbor would not happen to me. "This is like a curse" I told myself. Being a brave girl, I decided to go to Adell's house the day after tomorrow. I lay down and fell asleep.

A day passed and I was ready, ready for the endless adventure. Her house was so large that it seemed to be an endless maze to complete. I arrived at the house, I was able to find her key, it was so rusty from her age, I opened the front door that was in her house, I went to the door of her house. I opened it slowly and it looked very dark...luckily I had a flashlight, I closed the door slowly and turned on the flashlight. Walk a few steps forward. I shined my flashlight and realized that the room I was in was the living room. I noticed from the luxurious old green sofa that on the left there was a small table with some crochet paper flowers. The living room had 3 doors, doors that were probably bedrooms. I went to the living room to see in detail what it was like. There were ash marks on the walls and they seemed to be hands, the ceiling was large, it was impossible for a woman her age and her shortness to get up there or so I think. Then I felt a chill, I felt the laughter of a girl. I got scared and at the first door I opened it and it was a cupboard containing packages. I started to check the expiration date of the bags, some expired this year but others expired in 2017, 2014. It was incredible how simple bags of cookies, noodles, sugar and weed could be so eternal. I closed the cupboard and decided to continue with the second door, it was a small room where there was an English piano. In the legend it was also said that Adell was a Christian and she played her melancholic piano in church. I continued with the third and there was a staircase. "Where is this taking you?" I asked myself. I went up to the stairs, they were purple carpeted stairs like the ones you have in movie theaters when you go to the theater. I continued climbing until I reached the top and I found something that caught my attention...it was a doll, not just any doll, it had colored needles and they were stuck in the parts of its body. I was frozen, completely frozen that I had no comments to express myself. As soon as I reached it, it was Adell's bedroom; there were stains on the blanket of her bed, blood stains. The trail of blood I continued down the other staircase that was to the right of the fourth wall. I followed him and continued climbing that staircase, I arrived and saw the worst, it was a severed hand with a sign that said "salvame" which in English meant "save me." I was terrified when I witnessed this type of scenario, I ran in fear and found a door, I opened it and found the lady's bathroom, it was a luxurious bathroom. But it was not a common bathroom...I had a corpse already in a state of putrefaction in blood water in the bathtub, I saw how horrible it was. I opened the bathroom door and started running in desperation. I ran until I fell into a hole...it was a deep hole, I fell and got up...I didn't see it coming, I grabbed my flashlight and shined it. I came across the corpse of a girl with short hair, with a skull press, she had a short-sleeved T-shirt, black and red striped tights and black shoes and it seemed that her chest had been opened and she died from missing of blood. "Poor devil, later they regret having killed an innocent creature" I continued moving forward so as not to pay attention to the gloomy scene that seemed to be taken from a police film or a forensic photograph. I heard a girl's laugh again. I looked back and there was nothing. I kept moving fast. I found a door. A door that was with a "private property" sign, I opened the door and found a ritual, I decided to get into the satanic ritual and the worst happened... Realistic images appeared in my head, first it was the image of a demon with long pompadour, second an image of the victims and third a photograph of Adell but with blood stains. I closed my eyes and stood back.

La semaine dernière, j'ai retrouvé mes amis Julien et Katie à Remoulins dans le Gard (Languedoc). On est allés à Vallon-Pont-d'Arc (Ardèche) visite la réplique de la fameuse Grotte Chauvet.

Ici, en mélange, l'architecture contemporaine des lieux, les alentours (on voit le village de Vallon-Pont-d'Arc surmonté du Rocher de Sampzon ; quant à la belle plante, c'est la très toxique Morelle douce-amère) et le resto aux murs décorés de mammouths et autres rhinocéros laineux (qu'on trouve même sur le dessert ! a ce propos, on y mange très bien : caillette à tomber !)

Laury Thilleman, qui est toujours à Bali avec des proches, a révélé la grosse blessure de son ami entrepreneur, Kevin Morel.  Sur son compte Instagram, l’animatrice a révélé la blessure à l’épaule que s’est faite son ami Kevin Morel. Ce pourrait être un accident de ski mais elle n’en a pas précisé l’origine. Et alors qu’elle se trouve à Bali, le chef Juan Arbelaez dont elle est séparée depuis…

"Mary Pierce: [...] Je savais qu’elle avait dans sa vie ce qui manquait à la mienne.

Qu’avez-vous fait alors ?

M. P. : En mars 2000, j’ai vraiment compris que le péché dans ma vie me séparait de Dieu, que je vivais loin de Lui et que j’étais perdue… Je me suis repentie, j’ai donné ma vie à Jésus. C’est alors que j’ai expérimenté ce que la Bible appelle « la nouvelle naissance ». Ma vie a été transformée. Puis, en 2005, j’ai rencontré un jeune chrétien qui m’a parlé de l’île Maurice, de chrétiens là-bas, et m’a invitée. Ça m’a vraiment donné envie d’y aller, ce que j’ai fait fin 2005. Et en effet, là-bas j’ai vécu des choses très fortes qui ont beaucoup parlé à mon cœur. J’ai eu le sentiment d’être arrivée « à la maison ». J’ai vu des personnes se donner entièrement à Jésus, et qui vivaient vraiment l’Évangile ! Ça m’a beaucoup touchée. En 2008, j’ai décidé d’habiter là-bas, d’en profiter pour suivre des cours bibliques, m’engager davantage dans l’Église et faire tout ce que je n’avais pas eu le temps de faire quand j’étais sur les courts de tennis. Je suis aussi partie en Afrique, où j’ai eu l’occasion de découvrir quelques associations humanitaires.

Qu’avez-vous appris à cette occasion ?

M. P. : Entre autres, j’ai appris à pardonner. Mon cœur était très dur. En particulier, j’avais beaucoup de haine vis-à-vis de mon père. Il a été très exigeant, et même s’il a fait ce qu’il pensait être le mieux pour moi, mon enfance n’a pas toujours été facile. J’ai compris lors de ma conversion qu’il était important de me repentir et de pardonner. J’ai trouvé la force de pardonner à mon père, et à d’autres. J’ai remis ma vie en ordre. Sans Dieu, cela aurait été impossible. Depuis ce moment-là, je suis heureuse, en paix avec Dieu et avec moi-même.

À quoi ressemble votre vie aujourd’hui ?

M. P. : Ma vie est simple et je vis ma foi dans la liberté ! J’aime Jésus de plus en plus et mon désir est de lui plaire. Je suis engagée dans l’Église et je participe à beaucoup d’activités quand cela m’est possible, car je voyage beaucoup. En parallèle, j’entraîne deux jeunes Mauriciens, qui sont frère et sœur. J’ai beaucoup de joie à le faire et je le fais de tout mon cœur. Je voyage souvent avec eux pour les accompagner lors de leurs tournois." (Source: fr.aleteia.org).

Mon ami(e), la vie n'a de sens que lorsqu'elle est vécue selon les plans de Celui qui a dit: "Je te connaissais avant même de t’avoir formé dans le ventre de ta mère ; je t’avais mis à part pour me servir avant même que tu sois né. Et je t’avais destiné à être[...]" (Jérémie 1,5; Lire également Jérémie 29,11). C'est Lui qui a envoyé Son Fils unique dans le monde pour ôter le péché qui faisait obstacle à Ses projets en faveur des hommes. Et lorsque ce Fils, le Restaurateur des plans du Père, est venu, Il a fait clairement savoir ce qui était Sa mission: "[...]Moi, je suis venu pour que les humains aient la vie et l’aient en abondance" (Verset du jour).
