EGM January 2023
Here’s the current 2022/23 constitution for more information on all the positions!
Here’s the google form to submit your manifesto ahead of the EGM on Wednesday 15/01/2023 at 6pm.
Document last updated: 25/01/23 - 12:30pm
This document is not representative of all candidates that may run for election as individuals can choose to do so on the night.
Vice President Treasurer  b) One candidate (Name and manifesto will be shared on the night)
2. Disability Officer
a) Jamie Martin (They/he)
Hi! I’m Jamie (they/he), and I’m in my second year of Politics and Social and Public Policy here! This society has honestly saved me in multiple ways and is very close to my heart, and I’d love to be in this role so that I can create an inclusive and truly supportive space for anyone and everyone. I would be suited for this role as I have been in various advocacy and committee roles (see below), and am super passionate about making this society as safe and accessible as possible.
Previous experience:
- I worked within the British Youth Council to devise policy ideas on things like mental health and accessibility to propose to UK Government, and gained an ASDAN Youth Voice Award for my work
- I was a committee member of my hometown’s youth council (Impact), where I created and distributed a lot of information on safeguarding, mental health, and lockdown content, and helped to move operations online when the Covid-19 pandemic hit
- In college, I spent 2 years on my college council, arranging events like the leaver’s ball
- I’ve spent just under a year as News and Politics editor over at QMU’s student magazine (Qmunicate), writing about accessibility and queerness
In this role, I would focus on the usage of online means like the GULGBTQ+ Discord to ensure continued accessibility for the disabled community- as a society, strides were made in accessibility here during the Covid pandemic, and this could be really useful to keep going. I would do mini-meetups online in the disabled channel and advocate for more online stuff on the other channels, as well as keeping the in-person coffees, so those physically/ mentally unable to attend irl can still participate in society events. I would also work with the welfare officer to increase general inclusion and awareness- for example, using message reacts as a way to signal that somebody would like to be DM’ed by a committee member about a certain event due to something like a mental health issue, and something could be arranged them showing up early and hanging out with an identity officer beforehand. I would also like to do more events around disability- for example, an awareness panel similar to the ace one that was done, collaborating with other uni groups (the neurodiversity society, the SRC and student unions’ mental health campaigns, etc). I am also very cool and swaggy /j

Okay, let's do this. February Pinned post GO!
Hiya, I'm Dee.
Tumblr media
I'm a forty-something queer lesbian poly trans woman. I'm an artist, writer, leatherworker, and tattooist. I'm a shitposter, a mom, and a few other things I've spaced on for the moment. I'm also Not Your Responsible Adult, and will hand you kids pamphlets on sex and kink education, a couple double espressos, and a bag of fireworks or a puppy. I fully believe in sex, kink, and body positivity and reblog as such- if you need censor your own experience for whatever reason, don't follow me, because I will not censor myself for you.
I also post a lot of my work here, but you'll also find a lot of it available for purchase right here: http://tormentedartifacts.com Here's a few highlights:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As I said before, I'm also a tattooist- self-taught and primarily working on myself (yes, about 90% of all that ink in my selfies is my own handiwork, no I'm not taking professional clients yet, more just the occasional test subject)- here's some of the flashwork I've been doing for my own portfolio:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm a writer and occultist as I said before as well, and my first book and companion tarot deck are available through my site, or you can catch me doing weekly card readings and media reviews over here.
The absolute biggest thing right now, though, is my surgery fund- My Gender Confirmation and Facial Feminization operations both happen this November over a two week span, and I'm trying to get enough in to cover my stay and the downtime I'm going to have to take off from everything up there.
So here's the link for my GoFundMe for that.
if you can kick in on that, or just spread word around of it elsewhere, I'd REALLY appreciate it.
And to answer a few specifics:
If you're contacting me about an order the best way is using the email on my site, not messaging me- I will answer when I can, but I'm also backed up and almost constantly low on spoons. Tumblr's where I come to dopamine-mine among other things.
No, I don't sell content to use the current parlance. I do absolutely support those who do, and so should you.
Yes there's a discord. Yes you have to actually ask me for an invite.
No, I really am only 5'6". Half the rumors are true, but so are some of the outright lies. Yes, I'll still record voice requests, even scripted bits. No, you may not call me mommy. Terfs, swerfs, bigots, conservaties, and other fash can fuck directly off. Tipping should be mandatory. Plastics suck. Landlords and borders should be immediately expunged. Give the fucking Land Back. Do make it weird, don't make it creepy. Do make it terrifying, otherworldly, and possibly even wondrous. Buy more leather.
Otherwise, that's it. My inbox or messages are open if you've got questions

This information was posted in a discord I am in. The following information was provided for us and I am simply relaying the information to anyone who would benefit from the information given:
To access the links simply copy paste it to your browser if unable or click the link.
[Start] here's a quick rundown on birth control methods and preventing pregnancy for those who can get pregnant.
I'd recommend using a barrier method (condom, female condom, or dental dam for oral), along with a hormonal method, as hormonal methods don't prevent STDs, only pregnancy.
Both IUDs and birth control implants are reasonably long-lasting, lasting a matter of years, so these are great options if you live somewhere where you fear that your access to birth control won't be reliable. Copper IUDs also don't use added hormones, which can be helpful for some people.
Here is an article on protecting yourself from criminalization if you need to have a self-managed abortion: https://www.onlineabortionresources.org/blog/protecting-yourself-from-criminalization-for-self-managed-abortion
Here is a Tulsa-based nonprofit that provides free birth control in Oklahoma: https://www.takecontrolinitiative.org/
Planned Parenthood info on the birth control implant: https://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/birth-control/birth-control-implant-nexplanon/how-effective-is-the-birth-control-implant
Planned Parenthood info on IUD: https://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/birth-control/iud/how-effective-are-iuds
Plan B is shelf stable for up to 4 years, Afterpill is shelf-stable for 18 months. However, Plan B is less effective if you're over 176 pounds, so in that case, double the dose, or use Ella if you can get a prescription. Emergency contraception needs to be taken within 72 hours of sex.

Hey guys, just an update on the resources. Someone from the Tulsa-based nonprofit that was mentioned previously, is happy to have others reach out to her in an emergency. She is well connected and able to help out the best she can.

hello, so i am shifting accounts, woo! well, partially shifting. (if you want to reblog this post, go ahead) long post follows below cut, so a TLDR: i am leaving because i am starting to feel uncomfortable in the cule (reason for discomfort explained below cut). i will still keep this account for reblogging destiel and creative content, but everything else will be in the new account. im not saying the account's name but it isnt too hard to find. please tag @castinkywinky in your creative posts (edits, amvs, art, webweaves, gifs, etc.) or DM them to me. i really do not want to miss them. feel free to DM me other people's posts you find cool as well!! --
the primary reason why i am leaving is because the environment in cule tumblr right now is starting to get hostile. idk if i should, but im just gonna talk about what i am seeing on here that has made me uncomfortable, cause i dont want to be silent:
biphobia, acephobia, people talking over neurodivergent people, people invalidating other people's triggers and being unwilling to cooperate by tagging their posts with warnings, vaguing and ganging up on mutuals (i have seen none of my mutuals partake in these, but i am not online all the time so i cant be sure what happens when i'm offline), and just people being rude and mean. definitely didn't help that a lot of the victims were poc and/or neurodivergent people.
i’ve been lucky to not have directly been involved in any of the conflict that arose, but it is really tough and upsetting to see mutuals’ names get dragged under just for having different and valid opinions on a tv show that ended in 2020. all of this while blogs who purposely started the hate and discourse are getting support, praises, and tractions, and i'm just gonna say it, its because they are very popular among the cule and have a lot of followers. i am unsure if they are unable to grasp the influence they hold or are purposely using it to bully others but idk. also the anonymity of discord channels makes things harder.
i'm not saying i'm a perfect person and i have definitely made mistakes on this account, which i am regretful of. but i am learning and growing and a lot of these people i see seem fixed in their ways. i also do understand that it is human nature that in a power struggle people will most likely stand with the bully, often without even realising that that's what they are doing. really the only option i have in this scenario is to walk away because the rest of us are powerless (i know whatever i say here wont have an impact either, considering i blocked some of the blogs too). i know i can just block and unfollow people, but that hasnt been enough for me. and frankly after spending majority of the day on my new account, my mental health feels much better. (hoping it doesnt get worse after i post this)
anyways, i still want to support everyone's creations so if you make a new amv, art, webweave, etc. feel free to add me to your tag list or DM them to me, cause honestly my prime reason for not deactivating this account is to see creative work in the cule and the fandom. cause you guys are so fucking talented. i still do have a decent following size here, so hopefully reblogging the posts here instead of my new account will bring more traction to the posts.
speaking of my new account, it will not have any destiel content. destiel content shall remain in here alongside fandom creations. but on the new account i will be posting individual character content and content of other ships, including any and all rarepairs (well, within reason). also succession, watcher, muppets, and my other special interests.
i'm not going to link my new account here, just going to say that i'm using the same email for it as the one i use for my jail account, and that the url is also linked in the description of my jail. i have followed some of my mutuals on there already. you are free to ask me for the account name, but just know if you're primarily a destiel account, i may not be following back. we can remain mutuals on this account
i will also still be doing the daily cas posts so follow me @dailycasposts. the post usually come around 10-11am EST (unless i forgot or a mutual asks to post earlier) and i will still be active on discord, so DM me if you want my discord ID. or really, just DM me here if you want to talk, since i have to log on every night to cas post anyways.
that's all i have. so take care everyone, it was fun being active on this account while it lasted. all of you made it so fun and i definitely would not have survived 2021 without this account and the mutuals and friends i have made along the way. i hope to keep in touch with most of you and last reminder to add me (this account) to your tag lists and/or DM me your creative posts !! <33 Mx Stinkywinky

Here's a full suite of tools for creative and general use except as of my making this post they're all very functional at a free level. I'm not an expert on this stuff I've just been researching for the past while. Things that I haven't looked into security for are followed by an astricks, otherwise I've deemed their security acceptable. This post purposefully includes no links so tumblr won't make it flop.
Browser: Firefox, duh
I've lost a post on a list of Firefox extensions to get for better privacy. If I find it I'll include in the reblogs. One extention I GREATLY reccomend is pay walls bypasser clean* for obvious reasons.
(tor browser is a bit intense for my needs but worth looking into and having on hand)
Vpn: protonvpn
Email: proton mail
Password manager: myki
Cloud storage: degoo, 100 gb free
Private messaging: Signal (my research here isn't very deep)
Discord alternative: Matrix (^ditto)
Youtube: get youtuber Vanced and youtube music vanced for mobile and thank me later. 2 ads is unacceptable.
Collaborative WYSIWYG document and sheet editing: cryptpad suite (it's an open source project with other programs but those are the best ones)
Collaborative markup document editor: Overleaf for latex*
WYSIWYG personal office suite: libre office*
Mark up personal document editor: LaTeX* (I recommend a texmaker install. Which is kinda hard to find so I'll give more info in the reblogs if anyone's interested)
(The choice between Personal vs. Cloud editing and WYSIWYG vs. Markup is ultimately going to be a personal one based on your needs and limitations. I see reason to use all four of these, and can expand on why later if so desired.)
Code editor: vs code*
Library to manage PDFs: zotero*
Pdf viewer and annotater: Foxit reader*
Library to manage e-books: Calibre*
(Calibre also has viewing and annotation for many file formats, making foxit a but redundant here but I like it so it makes the list.)
Library to manage audio: tba, suggestions requested.
Library to manage movies and TV: plex
Note that while these are great for downloaded content im not sure how great they are for created content. Though a good organization system in any good file manager should work fine. Zotero does have places to put finished documents, though.
These libraries are great for downloading stuff from completely totally legal sources. Do not reblog this post telling people that it is and isn't moral to pirate make another post and acknowledge that some people believe differently than you. I'm not here to take a stance, just to offer information. I'm yet to actually torrent something, but I'll like a post in the reblogs by a pro. podcast Cher.
Torrenting software they reccomended was gbittorrent
Tormenting sites they reccomended were rardg, 1337, and the piratebay
Shadow libraries I reccomend: Z-library/LibGen & sci-hub.
Digital Archives: Archive.org, (of which archive-it seems to be an extention) open library.org, library of congress online, project Gutenberg, there are many. LibreVox is great for audio books and is available on my podcatcher.
Internet archives as in archives of the actual internet: the wayback machine and others. If you get a page unavailable error for a site you want to visit, ALWAYS check here before giving up.
Note taking/personal wiki: Obsidian* (there are many of these, but I like obsidian the post because of how it organizes and allows for plug ins in a way that made my desire to buy scrivenr go poof) (these are also good for storing snippets of code)
Flashcards: anki* (paid on ios only lol. )
Digital art, Vector art, and animation: Krita*
Audio Editing: Audacity* (audacity had a privacy scare recently. If that's a concern I would look into it.)
Photo Editing: gimp* (i know gimp is controversial but you can configure it to look and function almost exactly like photoshop)
Video editing: DaVinci resolve 17*
3d modeling and animation: blender* (also animates in 2d i think)
Font maker: birdfont* (look make the actual characters in better graphics software. The documentation is HORRIBLE.)
Various search engines
Publication search: submission grinder* (a duotrope alternative)
Search for direct awnsers to questions: wolfram alpha( (best for math)
Search for retro style, text heavy web pages: marginalia
Search for obscure pages: million sort* (removes first million results of a search)
Search through journals: Directory of open access journals, ERIC.ed.gov, etc. (There are SO many of these. Search for the ones relevant to your subject or look through databases offered by present or former places of education)
Search old newspapers: elephind
Search for artist's works: artcyclopedia (an online database of "museum quality fine art")
Ooooh you wanna disconnect from g-suite so bad oooooh.

PRIDEFALL UPDATE: real or fake?
What is Pridefall?
Operation Pridefall, also known as Project Pridefall or simply Pridefall, refers to an attack planned by /pol/ (a political discussion board on the anonymous website 4chan) for all of June, AKA Pride month. The original 4chan thread, which has since been deleted, was primarily focused on “redpilling,” i.e. spreading queerphobic propaganda to make people question the LGBTQ+ community. However, now that it has spread outside 4chan, there are threats of harassing, doxxing, and outing queer people (especially minors) on social media, spamming gore and rape videos in private messages and Pride tags, and even kidnapping, assaulting, or killing queer people in real life.
Specific targets include Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and dating apps. The goal is to go after smaller accounts so the queerphobia isn’t lost in the comments.
Is Pridefall real?
Yes and no.
I searched “pridefall” on 4chan last night. Apparently any new threads on it are being deleted, and anytime someone mentions it, everyone calls them slurs and says no one is doing it.
However, Pridefall is gaining some traction on Instagram--I have seen it for myself. I don’t have TikTok or any dating apps, but I’ve heard that some people are spamming homophobia on TikTok. As for Twitter, I only looked briefly, but I saw some Pridefall accounts there, as well as a lot of warnings and blocklists from people who are worried about it.
I’ve also heard that there have been a few Reddit and Discord raids, and that there is an Operation Pridefall Discord server (someone who spied on them says they have been banned on Discord as well as a platform called Riot before, so very few people are left on the Discord server now).
What do you think, Lia?
This is not coming from 4chan. No one on 4chan is interested anymore.
Most likely, people outside of 4chan heard about it and decided to take matters into their own hands.
The original 4chan thread wanted to make Pridefall “normie-palatable” by avoiding Nazi imagery or other overt unpleasantness, but I have seen a LOT of both on Instagram. This reinforces my belief that 4chan isn’t doing this.
A lot of the people behind this are young, or at least unsophisticated. Most of the Pridefall accounts on Instagram engage in very childish trolling, and one of them said they were a minor. Some of the threats I’ve seen are so outlandish that I can only imagine they came from a fairly young person.
My guess? Most of these people are around 13-19.
There are also very few of them and some of them probably have multiple accounts. Anti-Pridefall accounts outnumber them by far.
However, on Instagram I’ve seen Pridefall accounts following each other and commenting on each other’s posts, so there may be a few groups working together.
A lot of this shit is going to get deleted. I know Instagram is working through reports very slowly right now because they have fewer people available due to COVID-19, but most of the worst accounts I saw last night were deleted by this morning. I saw some more accounts deleted today.
Most, if not all, of these Pridefallers are just trying to scare us. Because they’re probably quite young, there’s very few of them, their accounts keep getting deleted, and law enforcement can track online activity, there is no way they have the balls or resources needed to coordinate major attacks.
There is a very, very slight chance this could spill over into real life, but as long as you practice basic online safety, you will be fine.
That being said, if you are threatened or doxxed by a Pridefall account, PLEASE contact the police. Better safe than sorry.
I do think that the threat of being doxxed or outed is more real than the threat of being attacked. I have already seen one Pridefall account who posted a trans boy’s address on Instagram (he is okay, he posted recently) and another who posted someone else’s address.
There is little chance this will last throughout Pride month. Apparently the goal is for Pridefall to worsen until the end of June, but given that this is most likely just some vastly outnumbered teenage trolls who are bored in quarantine, I seriously doubt they’ll be able to stay interested for a whole month.
This might not be as big on Tumblr. Tumblr is a lot more anonymous than, say, Instagram, which will hopefully deter would-be doxxers. It’s also known to be a highly liberal and queer-friendly site, so any Pridefaller with half a brain cell should know that A) their content is sure to be outnumbered and reported (only us Tumblr users know how bad staff is at deleting questionable stuff), and B) anyone with the original goal of “redpilling” is sure to fail here. Plus, I only remember seeing few, if any, mentions of Tumblr on Pridefall planning threads.
Still, expect to see some Pridefall activity here. Unsurprisingly, not all of these Pridefallers have half a brain cell. Some of them will definitely be unable to resist the lure of a community as openly queer as Tumblr, and we’ve all seen or heard about doxxing, harassment, gore, Nazis, and queerphobes on here. Also, 4chan has historically had some beef with Tumblr, so young teenage boys who idolize 4chan may target us for that reason.
How can I stay safe?
If you have any social media accounts where you A) have posted identifying personal information, and B) are openly supportive of the LGBTQ+ community (especially if you’re queer yourself), put them on private for June. Any other accounts are probably fine to stay public.
If you need a private Tumblr, you can make a password-protected secondary account and only share the password with mutuals you trust.
It is probably okay to be openly queer on a private account (e.g. have pronouns/rainbow emojis in your Instagram bio), since a private account is not likely to be doxxed. But if you want to be extra careful, remove queer identifiers from anything that is publicly visible.
Use Pridefall blocklists. They’re all over Instagram and Twitter. I may repost some here.
Report any Pridefall accounts you see. This is VERY important because this is how we can actually get rid of Pridefall content.
DON’T RESPOND TO ANY PRIDEFALLERS WHO PERSONALLY INTERACT WITH YOU. I know it’s tempting to give a snarky reply, but if they message you, comment on your post, etc, just block them. Seriously, don’t feed the trolls. It's exactly what they want.
Make sure your password game is strong. Use a different password for every site (I know, I know, it sucks), and use passwordmeter.com to test their strength. Write them all down on a piece of paper.
Make sure your username game is strong. Don’t use the same username for multiple sites, and avoid putting personal information in your username, such as your name or birthday.
Do NOT open random links!! Pridefallers could message you links that will give you viruses or track your IP address.
Don’t accept DMs or follows from people you don’t know. Pridefall accounts don’t always look like Pridefall accounts. Some of them are undercover.
Use a VPN. This is probably a little overkill unless you’re particularly at risk of being doxxed, but it will hide your IP address.
Be careful who you interact with. A lot of queer people on Instagram are DMing Pridefall accounts or commenting on their posts, but this could make you a target. As helpful as anti-Pridefall accounts are, you might even be targeted for following those.
Be wary of Pride tags. Unfortunately, a lot of Pridefall accounts plan to infiltrate tags commonly used by queer creators during Pride month. Use discretion when looking for queer content.
Be safe IRL. Lock your doors, lock your windows, be aware of your surroundings, don’t walk alone in poorly lit places, know basic self-defense, etc. Again, I absolutely do not think people will be attacked in real life, but you should be doing this shit all the time, not just in June. Thanks to COVID-19, you’re safer inside anyway!!
Make yourself hard to dox. Even though I have a very unusual first name (it's not really Lia), I am extremely hard to find online. I just went into an incognito browser window and searched my first and last name in quotation marks, but I didn’t find myself until page 4 of Google (and that result wasn’t even posted by me). I’m only half as careful as I could be, but here’s some of the things I do:
-I never use a picture of myself as my profile pic, except for Facebook and Instagram, which are both on the highest privacy settings possible.
-If I post identifying information on a public account (my college, my age, etc), I use a pseudonym or my first name only.
-On Instagram, I only use my first name, and I used special characters to type it, so you won’t find me if you search my name.
-On Facebook, I only accept friend requests from people I know. Most, if not all, of my Instagram followers are IRL friends, friends of IRL friends, and trusted Internet friends.
-If I’m really being paranoid, I’ll make a brand-new email account to sign up for a site. That way, my accounts aren’t all linked through one email address.
-Before I post a picture online, I delete the EXIF data with verexif.com, since EXIF data can hold GPS coordinates.
🌈 Stay safe, everyone.
You will not be harmed. You will be okay. Like cockroaches, we are survivors, and we will get through this!! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Tumblr media
As we said in our closing message at the end of this year’s auction, 2020 has been a year of tremendous change—change that we had no control over and change that we made with our own hands. Many times this year—and the past four years under the Trump administration for those of us in the U.S.—we’ve felt helpless in the face of terrible upheaval. But rather than forcing us to give up, the calamities we’ve witnessed and experienced galvanized us. We’ve seen people volunteer to drop off groceries for immunocompromised neighbors during the pandemic. We’ve seen people donate generously during the worst global economic crisis in modern history. We’ve seen people become more politically active, taking to the streets to protest and voting in record numbers like they are tonight.
And we’ve seen that same passion, that same desire to make change and help people, fuel all the MTH participants this year.
We weren’t sure what the turnout would be like. Would people have the time or energy to sign up as creators? Would people be willing to donate, and would they have the means to do so?
Our worries proved to be baseless.
This year, 273 “Marvel”-ous creators came forward to offer 416 auctions.
And this year, we raised…
Tumblr media
That’s just over $11,000 more than the MTH 2019 total. 😮💖🎉
We’re going to channel Beast here and exclaim, “Oh my stars and garters!”
Tumblr media
The race started off with a bang, with bids racking up quickly on the first day. Even so, we were shocked when we matched last year’s total, which we weren’t sure we could do ($27,193.91 was beyond our wildest expectations), and then just ran right past it before the auction even ended!
It’s been an incredible journey, with the mod chat pinging at all hours with excited gifs, effusive heart emojis, and inarticulate keyboard smashes as we expressed our love for the wonderful people in our fandom. It’s been very hard not blurting out the milestones as we reached them when we desperately wanted to share these amazing results with you all.
Creators, we couldn’t have started this auction without you. We loved seeing so many veteran creators sign up again and were pleasantly surprised by how many new faces showed up to the party.
Bidders, as crazy as it sounds, most donations were small ones (including some of those crazily high winning bids—several were the result of people pooling their five dollars together!). This has been consistently the case since MTH began. It just goes to show how much of an impact you can have when you’re part of something bigger than yourself. Each donation has a ripple effect, and enough ripples can cause a wave. You matter, and you can make a difference.
We also owe our success to our amazing signal boosters. There can’t be an auction without any participants, so to every fandom community Tumblr that agreed to reblog our posts, every Discord server mod who let us post announcements, and every person who shared our posts and encouraged their fandom friends to sign up and/or bid, thank you so much! Together, we reached hundreds of fantastic creators and bidders from all corners of the Marvel fandom, many of whom we didn’t know and some who were hearing about us for the first time.
Thank you all. We’re so touched by the massive number of people who donated above and beyond their pledged amount, creators who took on multiple auctions and offered multiple winner slots, and bidders who accepted their second-place wins with such eagerness! We also had people make donations in the spirit of MTH even though they didn’t win an auction, which was beyond generous.
We’ve already seen how our donations are changing the world for the better. To name a few examples:
Partners In Health is on the ground testing, providing care, assisting local government response, and mobilizing community health workers in countries where the mortality rate for COVID-19 is expected to be much more severe than those with well-resourced health systems
The Southern Poverty Law Center raised $10 million to fight voter suppression in the South, with some great successes in Florida
World Central Kitchen has purchased over 10 million meals from small, independent restaurants in 400 cities, putting $105 million and counting directly back into the economy and helping both struggling businesses and people who need food the most during the pandemic
We’re sure that in the months and years to come, we’ll see even more wonderful results.
In addition to the astounding amount of money we were able to raise for charity, MTH was successful in other ways. We strove to be as inclusive as possible, determined to make this event a fandom-wide effort. Considering that the auctions covered over 369 unique platonic and romantic relationships (if we include “all ships/gen”-inclusive relationships, this number is even higher) across 31 universes within the Marvel multiverse, we can safely say that we accomplished our goal.
This spirit of inclusion also applies to our auctions and charities. Every one of 416 auctions was bid on, and every one of our 30 supported charities received donations. We’re in awe of your commitment to supporting all our creators and charities and thrilled that you spread all the love around, bidders!
Here’s our breakdown of the donations (click to enlarge the image and hover to see the donation amount per charity):
Tumblr media
We’ve also listed the amount raised per charity on our 2020 auction results page.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for helping us turn our third Marvel Trumps Hate auction into such a fantastic experience. We cherish every single message of love and support that we received and continue to receive on our Discord server and through DMs, Tumblr messages, emails, tweets, etc. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!
To remember or learn why we created this auction in the first place, please check out our 2018 “thank you” post to all of our creators, bidders, signal boosters, and supporters.
If you’d like to stay updated on all of the 2020 Marvel Trumps Hate fills, follow us and/or check out the “mth 2020” tag on our Tumblr. You’ll also be able to find works posted on AO3 in our Marvel Trumps Hate 2020 collection and links to fills in our Discord server, which you can join to brainstorm prompts, chat about fills, and find out about other fandom events.
Thank you once again to everyone who volunteered their services, time, money, and platforms to spread the word. Though we may sometimes wonder how much of a difference we can make, it’s moments like this that show that every bit helps, no matter the size of our contribution. With that in mind, we’d like everyone to keep the following quote close to their hearts as we move forward and find ways to make the world a better place, to remember these words when they’re feeling lost or small.
“Purpose is the essential element of you. It is the reason you are on the planet at this particular time in history. Your very existence is wrapped up in the things you are here to fulfill.” — Chadwick Boseman
Think about your purpose. Think about what you can do while you’re here. Know that you matter.
And with that, MTH 2020 has officially come to a close. We’re so beyond grateful to you all, and we can’t wait to see all of your fanworks over the coming year!
Lots of love and gratitude, Your 2020 MTH mods

ART COMMISSIONS ARE OPEN! SEND ME TO SCHOOL!
I just recently lost my job and am in need of help. Some of you may recognize me as xXAonoNYmouSPXx from AO3 and FF.net. Now I’m here to confess the real reason why I haven’t updated, and let’s be frank here. Fanfics, as much as I enjoy them, do not send me to school. Yes, I am a working student all this time so you can imagine that when I’m not busy with college, I have to work but now I lost that source of income. My earnings are small, but it’s enough to pay my tuition for each semester.
I am not asking for donations (although I will gratefully accept them), so I am here to offer my services.
If you think my art style suits your tastes and would like to hire my hand then feel free to do so! AND PLEASE REBLOG THIS POST.
Notes to consider for potential buyers:
I accept Paypal only.
Those who only wish to donate can go to my Ko-Fi page.
I work fast. Buyers will only have to wait 1 to 3 days to receive their project. The simpler (ex. line arts) the piece, the faster the delivery time. I will inform buyers when they can expect me to deliver.
First come, First served. For the fairness of everyone, I may ask for extensions if there are others still waiting ahead before your request.
I am negotiable and easy to communicate. Buyers can expect a reply from me in 1 hour upon messaging me. If I did not reply immediately, it just means that I’m asleep.
Buyer’s Terms of Use. All commissions requested from me will be under the buyer’s personal use only. A fee must be paid if the buyer wishes to use the commissioned piece for commercial use and/or full ownership rights.
Anonymity. If the commission requested will be based on a real-life person, say it’s for a gift, buyers are required to include a reference photo of said person. However, rest assured that photos of these people will not be leaked or used whatsoever, and will immediately be deleted once the commissioned piece is complete.
Sketches. Yes, buyers can request a sketch from me before I do the major process.
Details. Buyers can be as detailed with the descriptions as they want or can give me full creative freedom.
Credits. Buyers are obligated to properly credit me (jingmcastle), along with a link of this post, when posting at whichever platform of their choosing.
I can work with any genre.
Restrictions. The only commissions I will not accept are those that connotate anything offensive towards race, gender, political bias, and religion.
Currency. I accept any currency. The prices in the post are there to serve as a guide to how much my work are usually worth.
Anime/Manga only? No, I can work with any character (real, in games, books, Original characters, etc.) as long as it’s understood that my art style will be applied on the commissioned piece.
How it works:
Send me a direct message here on tumblr, or discord (jmcastle#0437), or a mail at [email protected] with a title: “Commission: (please specify whether: Line art, Manga-Style, Colored Figure with or without Background, Webtoon)”
The buyer and I will work out the details of the commission.
Once everything is accounted for, the buyer is required to reblog this post.
Depending on the buyer’s request, I can send sketches and concept art.
For small pieces (Line art, Manga-Style, Colored Figures with and without background), payment must be sent in full. For WEBTOONS, a down payment of 60% the agreed price must be paid first. *Please send a screenshot of the receipt for proof that you have sent the payment, I will also do the same when I receive the payment.
I will send the buyer a FULL WATERMARKED version of the piece for final verification and in case revisions are needed to be done.
Once I have confirmed and received full payment, I will send the file to the buyer’s email.
The buyer is free to use the piece for personal use. *If the buyer wishes to post it at social media or other platforms, my signature will not be removed and they are required to properly credit me as the artist along with a link of this post included in the caption. **If the buyer has properly paid a fee for commercial use, my signature will not be removed from the piece and proper credit must still be followed. ***If the buyer has properly paid the fee for full rights over the piece, they are free to remove my signature and use it however they wish. *Failure to follow Step 8 will result in retraction of buyer’s use over the commissioned piece, and being flagged for plagiarism and art theft.
Standard sizes and resolution:
All works will initially be set at 300dpi resolution in an A4 canvas size.
For WEBTOONS, it will initially be at a width of 11.11 inches and the length will depend on how many frames there will be. * Buyers are free to give their own dimensions if they want.
Feel free to message me for questions as well.
Please be reminded that all the work and payment I receive through this will go towards my earnings in order to send myself through school and, if there are more, pay the bills at home. Thank you all and have a nice day! Ciao~!

If Slashers had horny Tumblrs...
What it says on the tin! HC post for if Jason, Bubba, Brahms, & Billy (Lenz) had their own tumblrs for horny content. (18+ only)
If you like these, feel free to send a request for other characters if you want :D
Contains : adult content, discussions of kink & brief mention of sexual harassment
Jason Voorhees
Very barebones bio that gives some basic info - his age, his gender/pronouns, and a warning this blog contains adult content.
Doesn’t get updated often, and it’s usually all at night. Mostly consists of content he reblogs from different creators (artists/sex workers, etc)
Don’t expect a fancy theme or anything - he only uses his phone for horny content since he shares a computer with his sweet old boomer mom.
A good mix - largely pictures people post of themselves or art he likes. Sometimes he’s in a Mood and reblogs a bunch of very specific kinky posts - text posts with affirmations from doms, risqué art, gif sets of people in gear.
He doesn’t have a huge following or anything, just a handful of mutuals and spam bots he doesn’t clear out frequently. But when he posts anything he thinks could be too intense he makes sure to tag it with warnings, just in case.
Sometimes leaves little compliments for people - he’s usually too shy to message people directly but he’ll reblog their posts and say nice things in the tags. Nothing too forward, usually things like “you look so handsome here!”
Bubba Sawyer
Makes sure not to put any identifying info but he usually puts his age/vague age range (“in my 30s”) because people ask for that.
A collection of stuff he likes, mostly pictures or gifs or the odd video or audio post.
A lot of mostly vanilla content - again, what turns him on, what he can jerk it to easily. Stuff he can focus on when he’s really trying to get off. I feel like he’s more likely to reblog a gif set of people just going at it or pictures of a hot person in lingerie or cute undies than anything with too much of a kink/fetish focus. But not always.
I’m not sure if our Bubba can read/write very well so I can’t see him reblogging or writing long text posts, but there will be a few short ones here and there.
He’s a little too nervous to post intimate pics publicly but I can see him on a very very confident day posting pics of just his hands after seeing people talk abt how they like strong hands.
Again, doesn’t write a lot, so he doesn’t add comments to reblogs or anything
He may leave nice things in tags tho! Like Jason he sometimes leaves little compliments for people whose content he reblogs (ur dress is so pretty!). Sometimes he tags things with certain emojis that seem to have some kind of meaning… a mood he’s in… or maybe they remind him of someone he likes?
Brahms Heelshire
VERY detailed very organized pinned post with info about him including a list of his kinks, and what interactions he wants/doesn’t want. Also, places to send him tribute. Not that he needs the money, of course, but he wouldn’t mind if you got him something off his wishlist. (Wink wink nudge nudge.)
I see him as a switch who leans heavily towards submissive with a bratty streak. However people tend to assume he’s more dominant since he reblogs more dom centered text posts (he’s usually imagining he’s the sub in those scenarios).
Has a decent following since he will periodically produce a lot of original content - mostly text posts, or audio, and the occasional picture where his face is obscured and no naughty bits are showing directly. He errs on the side of caution since he doesn’t want to get struck down by the tumblr nipple police, and also because are you kidding me his family has a reputation to uphold, he can’t afford to get caught
Tumblr is his main horny platform of choice because he finds it easier to organize content he likes into an archive, and there’s more privacy. He tried making an nsfw account on other platforms before, but because of linked accounts and email fuckery he got recommended to follow a family friend and nearly shat himself. (He has a good handle on privacy and he knows that person couldn’t find him - he double checked his privacy settings after that - but it still scared him off that website, at least for that purpose.)
Because he has a decent following he also has a few mutuals he’s messaged periodically. He’s varying degrees of close - some only know him from his posts, some know his main tumblr, some may even be following him on other platforms as “long distance friends”
Every once in a while debates about having his own server for his simps followers, but he’s not sure about using his discord where he keeps in touch with friends/family for it or making a new one. You’re welcome to message him if you’re mutuals or you send him some cash first ❤️
Billy Lenz
What do you mean, “horny on main”? What, like you have an alt?
His blog is like, 98% porn but every once in a while he’ll reblog a non porn post to get into an argument.
“You sure have a lot of opinions on Canadian politics for a hentai blog 🤔”
Mostly an archive of stuff he finds hot at the time, without rhyme or reason - reblogs, links to other websites, etc. mostly chaos, but it seems like every once in a while he tries to have some kind of tagging system.
He sometimes posts original content - sometimes rambling text posts about the kind of sex he wants to have, very rarely pictures of himself. that he deletes immediately after in fear of getting flagged.
When it comes to audio posts… the Moaner lives up to his name. Although he’s not skilled with recording - clearly doing it on his phone - His audios aren’t half bad if you can find them. Usually captioned with something about how he made them or what he was thinking about when he made them.
Let’s be real, canon Billy had like no concept of consent. Or just didn’t care, because he wanted to scare and intimidate people. He’s definitely been blocked by people for sending creepy messages/asks or adding unwanted captions to their posts. When he wants to hit on someone in a way that means they may reciprocate, he’s nicer, but people are still (understandably) put off by him.
At his most polite though, he’d be the type to send an ask to someone saying he hopes they come to Toronto so that he can eat their hot pink cunt and make them cum on his thick tongue and fat, juicy cock. (This is regardless of factors like their actual location, whether or not they have a cunt, or travel guidelines due to the pandemic.)

Marvel Fans 4 BLM - Rules and FAQ!
Tumblr media
What is Marvel Fans 4 BLM?
Marvel Fans 4 BLM is a charity auction where fans offer works in exchange for donations. Our focus is to raise money for various Black Lives Matter organizations as well as focus on creating content for Black Marvel characters.
Who is allowed to participate?
All fans from any and all Marvel fandoms are welcome! We ask that if you are under 18, you do not offer or request explicit rated content.
How does it work?
Creators sign up to offer their works. Bidders then pledge donation amounts in auction-style. The winning bidder donates their pledged amount to a charity; once that donation is confirmed, the creator starts, uh, creating!
What is the schedule?
Monday 15 June - Sunday 28 June: Creator Sign Ups
Monday 29 June - Sunday 5 July: Browsing Week
Monday 6 July - Sunday 12 July: Auction Week
Sunday 19 July: Proof of Donations Due
Sunday 15 November: Check-In
Sunday 31 January 2021: Fanworks Due
More FAQ, Rules, and Resources under the cut!
What items are acceptable for creators to offer?
All creations should be centered around one or more canon Black characters in any Marvel fandom (movies, comics, TV - any Marvel adaptations!). Other characters are welcome to join the fun, as long as they are not the main focus. Shipping and Gen content alike are welcome! Creations accepted are:
- Fanfic
- Digital art (original art, moodboards, manips, edits, etc.)
- Physical art (artworks, crafts, merch, etc.)
- Podfic
- Fan vids
- Translations
- Fan labor (beta work, sensitivity reading, culture-picking, fact checking, SPAG editing, etc.)
If you’d like to offer something not listed, feel free to ask.
I wanna be a creator! Tell me more!
More details will be shared at each stage, but here’s an outline to get you started!
Creator sign-ups run from Monday 15 June to Sunday 28 June. You’ll sign up via a Google form and there you can specify what type of fanwork(s) you are offering with some relevant details like characters, pairings, and content you are willing to create in addition to other notes for bidders to see!
As well as fundraising for important causes, this event is intended to create new content for our favorite Black Marvel characters. With that in mind, we will not accept any previously published or created works. The exception to this is physical goods and crafts.
After the auction closes, we will put you in touch with the highest bidder and from there you two work together to create something great! Once you have your bidder’s prompt, you’ll have until 31 January 2021 to complete your work for them. We’ll have a check-in on 15 November but it’s up to you to follow through by the 2021 deadline. Unfortunately, failure to complete by the deadline will mean you will be unable to participate in future events - until you meet your obligation to your bidder.
You can offer up to three works for auction, but please be honest and respect your limits. We want both creators and bidders to end with a complete work and enjoy the process! For physical goods, it is up to you and your bidder to decide how to handle shipping - keep this in mind when setting your starting bidding price.
After posting, you can tag us in and any works that follow our rules will be included in our AO3 collection and featured on our Tumblr!
I wanna be a bidder! Tell me more!
From 29 June through 5 July, you will be able to view all items up for bid, as well as check out each creator’s other works to get a feel for what they can do. You may also reach out to contact individual creators if you have questions. We recommend that if you have a specific idea in mind, or a rarepair, or something the creator has never done before, that you reach out and confirm they will be able to fulfil your request before you bid on them.
From 6 July through 12 July, bidding will be open. All bids will be placed in US dollars, with a $5 minimum starting bid and a $2 minimum incremental bid. Bidding will not be anonymous. Group bids are welcome.
You may bid on as many items as you like, but please keep in mind that you cannot retract a bid, so make sure you can commit to donating the amount(s) that you bid. You may donate to any of our approved organizations listed below, or ask the mods for approval to donate to another cause that is working towards BLM goals.
For physical fanworks, whether or not your final bid includes shipping will be up to the creator. Once we receive confirmation of the donation, we’re no longer responsible for communication between creators and bidders. Be aware that for physical fanworks, creators will need your address to send you the item. If you aren’t comfortable giving out personal information, we suggest you bid on other auctions instead.
Once the auction is over, we will confirm the final amount for your winning bid(s); do not donate until you receive this confirmation. As soon as we have proof of your donation (pdf receipt that shows date, organization, and amount, all other info can be redacted) we will put you in touch with your creator. At this point, it is up to the two of you to work out how you’d like to proceed to ensure that the bid is fulfilled by 31 January 2021.
If you don’t hear from your creator after we connect you, please reach out to them yourself! If it has been a couple of months and you haven’t heard from them at all despite your efforts to get in touch, let us know and we’ll try to contact your creator on your behalf or help you assess the situation. Unfortunately, there’s always an inherent risk that a creator may fall through for various reasons. If this happens, we hope that knowing that you donated money to support an amazing cause will lessen the disappointment of not receiving a promised fanwork.
Remember that this event is designed to create content for Black Marvel characters, so please be sure to keep your requested works aligned with our Content & Conduct guidelines.
What charities will be supported?
We want participants to feel connected to where their efforts are going. There are multiple organizations linked in our Resources section below, along with master list sites that are updated regularly as new donation opportunities arise.
Creators will be allowed to specify up to three sites that they’d like their winning bidder to support with their donation. Any of the sites or organizations linked in our Resources section are acceptable. Creators can also decline to list a preference, and their winning bidder will be permitted to donate to any of the sites or organizations linked in our Resources section.
We are also open to suggestions! Other donation opportunities requested by the creator and vetted by the mods will be welcome.
Can I sign up to provide more than one offering? Can I sign up as a creator and a bidder? Can I bid on more than one offering?
The answer to all of these is an enthusiastic yes! Creators can make up to three offerings. Just be sure not to spread yourself too thin; we want everyone to have a successful participation. Do not agree to participate, either as a creator or a bidder, unless you are absolutely committed to following through.
Content & Conduct
This event is designed to spotlight Black characters in a positive way. This doesn’t mean we require fluff, smiles, and happy endings, but it does mean that for this event, we require that you think critically about what you are presenting and how that representation fits within the larger context of the way fandom treats characters of color.
All creations must be centered around one or more canon Black characters, meaning they must be the main focus of the story, artwork, etc. They should not be sidelined in favor of other characters, and if there is any shipping (which is not required, Gen creations are more than welcome) they should be in the main pairing.
This event is designed specifically to support BLM and therefore we expect all participants and creations to align with the values of the movement. To that end, we ask that you do not create or request fanworks that celebrate law enforcement or the military. This is not the appropriate event for a cop AU or similar. For characters canonically affiliated with law enforcement or the military, be critical of how those institutions are portrayed, as well as how BIPOC are treated by and within those institutions.
Some additional points to keep in mind:
- Some Marvel characters have canonical physical, mental, and emotional disabilities - including invisible ones like chronic pain and mental illness. These should be treated respectfully, with due diligence given to portraying their lived experience.
- No perpetrating anti-Black stereotypes or tropes.
- No sympathetically portrayed Hydra or other Nazi analogues.
- No explicit or romantically portrayed non-con.
- No sexual/romantic relationships between adult and minor characters.
- No sexual/romantic relationships between family members.
- All content shared publicly should be tagged appropriately and thoroughly.
Any offerings or creations that do not adhere to these guidelines will not be promoted on any of our social media platforms, and may affect your ability to participate in future events.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here is a list of (most) previously asked questions about the fest.
You can also find some of these in #FAQ
Why the need to beta read? Also, why not use DMs to communicate tag changes and story changes? Having to add someone who is not a co-author as a co-author is a big ask. We require a beta reader in order to ensure that basic SPaG/flow issues have been corrected so that all fics are fest-ready for consumption. That way everyone can focus on enjoying all the lovely content worry-free! I understand that adding a mod account as a co-creator can be a big ask which is why we have stated it upfront so that if anyone has any issues with it they are fore-warned. It is entirely for functional reasons (adding fest tags, ability to check fest collection is added correctly, etc.) and will be removed once the work has been revealed. Anything the mods may feel require action, for example, the need for adding a warning tag, they will email or DM the creator and discuss it with them. No changes to the actual work will ever be made by a Mod.
Can we view the list of prompts before claiming opens? Yes. This year we will be trying Airtable for the first time, so please do be patient, but hopefully you’ll be able to see all prompts the moment you or anyone else submits them. If there are any spelling errors or anything you wish to change on your own prompt please feel free to contact us.
How many prompts can we submit? 10! You can submit up to 10 prompts. You do not need to prompt in order to claim. You do not need to claim in order to prompt.
Are rare poly-ships okay for the fest? Yes! Any and all rare ships are welcome. As all Poly ships in the HP Universe have fewer than 1000 completed works in English they are all considered rare.
What will happen in the end with prompts that don't get claimed? Prompts from previous fests will be opened to be used by anyone. You can find prompts from previous years in the different tabs here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1v8C4EFKNCzGH7V44QET7TLXGLIzlat759KoCNN78Fls/edit?usp=sharing
How closely should fest works follow the DNLs (dislikes) of prompts? You don't have to at all. These are prompts, take them in whatever direction you feel comfortable with. All we ask is that you please do not gift your work to your prompter if they do not follow the prompt specifications.
Am I allowed to send the link of this discord to people who want to join the fest, or are planning on claiming a prompt? Yes, definitely! You can find the server invite here: https://discord.gg/EVAM2mX
Can we make our work part of a collection or series after the fest is over? Absolutely. When posting for the fest your work must be complete and stand-alone, after the fest is over you're free to add your work into different collections or add more works to a series involving your fest fic!
When it comes to submitting our submissions on Ao3, is there a fest-specific user name to tag for co-creator? Any specific fest collection to add to? And after all is posted to Ao3, is there anything else that needs to be done? All information on how to post to AO3 will have been sent out once you confirmed your email. If you're yet to confirm your email please do so and we can send out instructions right away. If you didn't receive a confirmation email, please let us know by sending us an email at [email protected]
Are collaborations between writers allowed? As in, could me and a friend claim a prompt together and write the fic together? Yes. We do ask that you please let us know you're doing so in the claiming form, and provide only one email address to make contact easier.
Can we Gift our work to someone on AO3? Absolutely you’re welcome to gift your work! Our only conditions on gifting: - if you’re gifting your work to your prompter please make sure that your work meets the Ship, likes, dislikes, and ratings of the prompt. -We ask that you only gift your work to those involved in this fest (eg. prompter, beta reader) This is because all works for this fest should be created specifically for this fest and not involved in other challenges. (If you self promoted and you want to gift to the person who inspired the story/art idea, that is fine)
Will multi-chaptered fics be shared with all chapters at the same time, or will we be able to stagger the uploading of our chapters? No. All works will be posted as one complete work. This includes works with multiple chapters. There are many claims and works for this fest, and to make posting go as smoothly as possible it is infeasible to post any works chapter by chapter.
Are self prompts allowed for this fest? Yes. There is/will be a self-prompt option in the Claiming Form.
Does this fest allow art/podfics? Yes. Absolutely! We welcome fanfiction, fanart, pod-fics, scripts. If you want to submit another form of work not listed here, feel free to send us an ask and we'll let you know!
If I need to drop out, should I dm someone or use the email? Please email us at [email protected] to let us know. That way we can connect the email to the claim, it just makes it a little easier for us. Please note there is no problem with anyone dropping out of the fest at any time, we just need to know is all.
Can stories be gen? Like can the story be about Sirius and Molly Weasley (for example...) but it's about their FRIENDSHIP or does it have to be a romance? Is it rare pair b/c there's the element of romance? This particular fest is for the romantic and sexual relationship/s between characters. However, if you're keen to write or read friendship content, please stay tuned for the HP Friendship Collection!
Are darker themes okay? Yes. Any that is allowable on AO3 is welcome in this fest. So long as the fic focuses on and is about a rare ship. We simply ask that all content in your work is clearly tagged.
In the post regarding the list of prompts, it says that prompts from the previous year are open to anyone. Does that mean we can claim those prompts for this year's fest? Or does it mean we can use those prompts outside of the HP Rare Pair Fest? Both! If you’re wanting to claim one of those prompts for this year's fest then it will be posted to this year’s fest collection as any other prompt. However, anyone is welcome to write for a previous year’s prompts at any time outside of the fest, simply let us know and we can bookmark the creation to the fest collection the prompt belongs to. Eg. if in a few months you decide to write a fic based off the 2020/21 list of prompts, then you can let us know when you post it to AO3 and a mod can bookmark it to the 2020/21 collection, and promote it on discord/tumblr if that is something you’d like.
How do I claim a prompt? Do I send you an email? I have found a prompt I like in the list. You can claim a prompt by filling out the claiming form. This can be found in #information when claiming is open. Can those of us who'll turn 18 in the next few months join or if one must already be over 18 to claim now? You can prompt or claim once you turn 18. If you turn while claiming is open, then you can claim on your birthday. What do the cell background colours mean on the prompt spreadsheet? (For previous year’s fests) If a square/text is shaded, that means the prompt was been claimed. Will confirmation emails go out after we've claimed a prompt? Yes. It may take a little while to send out the initial emails due to the quantity of claims received in the first day or two, but we do try our best. If you've not received a confirmation email after 48 hours please send us an email at [email protected] to let us know, this may be due to a spelling error or something along those lines.

How do you get that jojo game thing?
Depends! For iOS, which is what I use, you'll need to make a japanese apple store account with a new email. I followed this tutorial. If you're on iOS, you can only update the game using your japanese apple account. It doesn't work if you try to change your regular iOS account region to japan, for some reason or another.
For Android, there's this app called Qooapp that lets you install the apk for japanese-only games! Here's a tutorial for that! Apparently you can also play on an android emulator on your computer, but I'm not sure how that works...
Also, when you get the game working, remember to back it up with both a code and twitter account in case one of them fails!
EDIT; I forgot to mention! The game is called Jojo's Pitter Patter Pop, or "ジョジョのピタパタポップ" and the most updated information is on the discord! you can find it linked on the subreddit

2020 October Update
So... we've launched. And our launch was... actually kind of... bad...
This is a dev blog, so I'll speak on it. But before that, we do have the game's steam page up. If you're anticipating the PC release, please do visit the steam page and add it to your wish list. It would help us a lot.
VISIT STEAM LINK
...
So what didn't go so well?
1. We launched in Nintendo's Americas and Europe territory. If you've been following the release, you'd know that America got the game first. We didn't move to launch in Europe at all since I thought the EFIGS languages (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish) were pre-requisites for Europe. By the time I learned that this wasn't necessarily the case, and attempted to course correct, the damage was done. We had half the allotment of keys to do outreach, and maybe some European outlets that would've covered us, did not.
2. When the game launched, rather than a victory lap, what we experienced was more of a public lashing. We did get some reviews that praised the game highly, but just as many reviews lampooned the game for its high difficulty or other failings. I've since released two patches (or 3, depending on how you count it) to address the difficulty. A lot of overnighters. If you recall in the last blog post, I thought it'd be a good start if we got 20 or so reviews on Open Critic. But we've only 8 as of this writing, and the aggregate score isn't so hot. So that's a fail by my metric.
3. A publisher reached out to us because they were interested in physically printing the game! Yay! But... to advance our talks, they wanted to see the game's sales numbers to ensure that there's a good chance their investment could be recouped. And unfortunately, the game's sales numbers are pretty low. They backed out :(
Some hard lessons were learned. The biggest lesson for me concerns how well we playtested the game. Looking at the original playtester list, it's a short list. You may recall from a previous blog post that our ability to test was severely hampered by technical limitations. Add to that, a lot of people on this list are objectively really achieved players. We're talking power ranked in Smash Bros, regular tournament goers, and people who've played and bested every Souls game. And as the maker of the game, I am most blind to the game's challenges.
Now, I'm definitely more of the opinion that you prioritize PC development first. I still have some reservations about some stages of PC development. But if you do PC/Steam first, you have the great benefit of being able to do Early Access, which gives you access to a greater testing pool. I now view it as an invaluable part of the equation. If we had been able to do Early Access for 1 or 2 months before release, we probably could have ironed out most of the game's difficulty and balance problems. Hard lessons, indeed.
There were a lot of other notable events that occurred over the past 2 months - the travails of press outreach, realizing my own limits as a developer, feeling defeated and getting back up again, etc. There's too much stuff to chronicle or go into detail. But it wasn't all bad.
Some good things did happen...
We got a publisher to publish for Japan! It came as a huge relief, because clearly, we don't know what the heck we're doing.
The publisher has been an invaluable source of information and feedback. They've recommended some changes to the game to improve user experience. Some of these changes I was hesitant to do at first because they concerned systems I thought integral to the identity of the game. But after trying it, I have to admit, they're good changes.
So a Japanese version of the game was moving ahead. And it looked like that'd be it. I wasn't planning to move forward with any other language translations due to the game's low sales and our funds being depleted.
But, I was approached by a translator who urged me to move ahead with translations. He told me he was willing to work for only a small price initially and then be paid the rest after from a percentage of the game's sales until the cost of the translation was paid in full.
I was surprised translators were willing to work under such a model since it's entirely likely the game's current low sales trajectory would continue and they wouldn't earn back the full cost of translation. But I was also flattered they were willing to take a risk with me. After that, I approached some others with the same hypothetical deal, and long story short, we're now moving forward with French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian translations. As for why these languages in particular, they were languages for whom I had contacts (because they reached out to me at some point in the past). And also because they were deemed more likely to be profitable based on their home country's gaming market/buying habits. I'd be personally happy to have my native language be represented, but it's not expected to be a profitable territory. But if the game does better in the future, it may justify the costs of translation. There could be a chance!
The plan right now is to get the game supporting these first round of languages and then to patch that into the Switch version as well as launch the PC version with these languages - all in December. A lot of things need to align for this to occur, so a delay isn't out of the question. It'll be busy... I'll update the blog again in latter half of December, probably near the game's PC launch date... OR to announce a delay. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.
Fan Support
While the past two months have been grueling, one good thing remains constant - fan art! Thank you everyone who submitted. It means a lot to me and the team!
Tumblr media
Big thanks to Pimez who's taken on watching over the reddit community as moderator. He also combs the other communities and makes sure I see every new art piece. Despite juggling his own life and all these tasks, he still found some time to draw.
Pimez's piece reminds us that just because the new game's out doesn't mean we can't still celebrate the original flash game. The jail dog is a dog found only in jail and only in the flash game. I imagine Gail is just tossing a stick, and they're playing fetch.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A new artist to this scene æv draws both the Phoenix logo AND a super cute picture of Gail playing the flute. So precious, you want to pinch her cheek. Even the Sand Drake is enthralled!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another new artist, beet4ppy arrives on the scene with two pictures! One features a no-nonsense battle-hardened Gail looking stoic and tough! Kinda reminds me of Vinland Saga actually. The other, a more cheerful group composition - I must say I'm a big fan of Fran's classic anime-style eye!
Tumblr media
A returning artist, Cody G, returns with a picture depicting the tribulations of cooking. Gotta love Gail's frantic expression! I've heard the complaints, which is why we've added an option to slow the cooking mini-game down. An improved button font is also on the way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gamesing with two undertale x phoenotopia crossovers. Thomas being a robot builder makes sense taking a role similar to Alphys. But why is Alex dressed like a clown? Perhaps there is a hidden meaning here...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A new artist, Warotar, draws both a pooki wearing Gail's clothes and Gail wearing pooki clothes. Awww. The pooki is a bit scary - it kinda reminds me of a tragic event in a certain anime. But the Gail is adorable!
Tumblr media
POL#5655 submitted this one to KM's discord which made its way to me. Here, a stylized Gail appears unnerved by the dark red eyes stalking her in the background. Are they bats or something more sinister?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A new artist, MilesCPW, arrives on the scene with three rare well-vectorized arts! Love it! One scene depicts Gail balancing a bomb on her head - that's a speedrunning trick I only learned about recently after someone emailed me a video O_O
The other drawing gives us new insight into Katash - he could actually look cute if he wasn't trying to kill you.
And the bees... Okay, this one got a chuckle from me :D
Tumblr media
A returning artist roccy_chair draws this heart-warming scene from the beginning of the new game. Aww. Mika doesn't get much screen time for story reasons, so it's nice to see her represented.
Tumblr media
UnrealWorld_32 returns with another drawing of Gail in Panselo, this time capturing a more idyllic time. I like the tranquil nature of this piece. And Gail does in fact play the guitar, denoted by the guitar in her room.
Tumblr media
Returning artist shafiyahh draws a nice portrait of Prince Leo - looking regal and princely. I like the storybook art style of this piece. It made me immediately think of "the Little Prince" - one of my favorite books actually!
Tumblr media
Negativus Core returns with a beautiful group composition of Gail and the gang - flying from a Switch shaped window - totally sensible considering the game is only Switch right now. As usual, I'm impressed by Negativus Core's use of challenging angles to frame a more dynamic shot of the characters. Great job!
And it wasn't only artists bearing the banner. I'd like to give a big shoutout to everyone in all the game's little communities (from the reddit to the discords to this tumblr). I've seen this community help newcomers with gameplay and walkthrough advice, discussions, updating the wiki, and so on. It does bring a smile to my face. Thank you everyone!

Kylux Big Bang 2020 wrap-up and feedback survey results
Hello everyone!
We've concluded yet another Kylux Big Bang, fifth one we've run since TFA first came out - a huge THANK YOU to all our participants who keep this bang going! Amazing job everyone, we hope you've had as much fun with it as with the previous ones, and if this was your first ever KBB - we hope you've enjoyed it, and will join us for the 2021 KBB :D
We've closed the feedback survey, thank you to everyone who responded! Your comments will help shape the coming Kylux Big Bang. Here's the tl;dr summary, (for more info please see below the cut):
Ratio of artwork to wordcount: just right
Time-frame to complete works: just right, we will have a similar timeframe for KBB 2021 with posting in November
Check-ins: were useful, just about the right amount, and will be included again in 2021 KBB
Pairing process: went well, we've addressed more detailed comments below
Type of bang for 2021: REVERSE! The KBB has a tradition of swapping between the type of bang every other year, and over half of responders voted for a reverse bang. For the KBB 2021 artists will provide prompts, and writers will pick from them!
Mods for the 2020 KBB: will be announced once the 2021 bang starts
Our email is still [email protected], please feel free to contact us there if you’d like!
We will keep running the discord server for KBB 2021 to help people reach out to the mods and other participants
We will update the schedule as soon as the 2021 KBB starts. We are hoping to open the sign-ups for KBB 2021 in early May - keep an eye out on our blog and twitter for the sign up announcement around that time!
For more details about the survey results please check below the cut.
Everyone, regardless of previous involvement in the fandom and their skill level, is welcome to participate in the Kylux Big Bang!  We look forward to many of you signing up for the 2021 KBB :)
KBB Mod Team
Nearly everyone thought the ratio of artwork to wordcount was just right (93%; 94% last year; 5% thought there were too many words per piece of art and 2% that there wasn't enough), and the majority of people (79%, 77% last year) thought the time-frame to complete the works was also just about right, with 14% saying it wasn't enough and 7% saying that it was too much time. We will stick to a similar time frame, starting KBB 2021 around May and finishing in November for the Big Bang and September for the Mini Bang.
Almost everyone (95%; 15% more than last year) finished their projects by the end of the event and was satisfied or highly satisfied with the 2020 KBB (88%).
Most people (86%; 96% last year) found the check-ins useful, with majority of participants (74%, 91% last year) having found the amount of check-ins to be just about right. 16% of respondents thought there were too many, 10% thought there were too few. 86% of all respondents would like to have check-ins in the next KBB. We will continue using them, and review their number.
62% of people want to see a reverse bang this year, and we have taken into account the fact that the previous bangs operated on a switch basis: a regular bang followed by a reverse, followed by a regular. We are happy to announce that this year’s event will be a REVERSE bang, following the regular bang from last year :) Artists will submit their story ideas, and writers will pick from them.
We were happy to hear that almost everyone who voiced their opinions about the pairing process thought it worked well!
As usual, we got the one singular comment about the pairing process being somehow 'rigged'. Here is a link to the pairing algorithm we use every year since 2017. To increase the anonymity of prompts and bids, mod @glass-oceans encoded each prompt with its own unique code (the 'prompt code' everyone has been using for their project), and the artist bids were similarly encoded to avoid bias before the pairing up was done by mod @brainyraccoons based on those codes alone. If people still have concerns and doubts about the pairings, mod @brainyraccoons is more than happy to discuss those, you can message him on tumblr/twitter under the same username or on discord at brainyraccoons#5678.
We would also like to note that most other big bangs operate on a ‘first come, first served’ basis for pairing, where whoever is first to bid on a prompt gets it. We think that is highly unfair to people who cannot access the bidding on time or experience technical difficulties, therefore we employ the pairing algorithm even though it adds at least 15 extra work hours (that’s almost half a week for an office worker) for one mod and is quite a complex process. We do it because we want everyone to have an equal chance at getting their favourite prompts. If you think the process is somehow ‘rigged’, you are in no way obliged to participate in the KBB, and we will not address any further comments of this nature.
We've received a comment asking for space to write down people whom the participants do not wish to be paired up with - this information can be included in the last question on the form which asks whether you would like to let us know of anything else regarding your pairing and prompt preferences.
We are not sure what the comment asking about factoring in time zones for pairing relates to - if the person in question could send us a private message and explain, we would be happy to hear them out!
Other feedback we've received has been extremely positive and encouraging, and we are happy to hear that you've enjoyed the project! We sincerely thank everyone who took the time to share their love for the KBB with us, the project wouldn't be possible without you!
To address the concerns and queries that were raised:
This year we will be changing the way the posting windows work, as many people have raised their concerns over them, and we acknowledge that the posting didn't go as smoothly as anticipated. We will be following the format almost all other Big Bangs take, and people will be able to pick ONE DAY, and one day only, for their posting. ALL art and fic will have to be posted within that time-frame. If there are reasonable mitigating circumstances for people missing their assigned posting date, we will do our best to find a good solution - as always, we will help however we can, and there will be options to post after the original deadline has passed, provided that the team keeps a line of communication open with us at all times when difficulties arise, and all parties know what's happening. Changing the way we do posting should also help with having less fics posted in the last few days and help to spread the posting out better.
Check-ins having no repercussions for the half of the team who isn't progressing with their side of the project: as far as we know, that wasn't the case, and teams who have submitted only partial check-ins were chased up and multiple pinch hitters were assigned where people went MIA. If there are issues with people not pulling their weight in your team, PLEASE LET US KNOW. If you are for some reason unhappy with your partner(s), PLEASE LET US KNOW. If you wish to change your partner because you cannot form a working relationship with them for the duration of the bang, PLEASE EXPLICITLY LET US KNOW (this one is particularly helpful at the start of the project when it's easier to move people around as necessary). We assume that everyone who is taking part in the bang is mature enough to be able to communicate with their partner, or notify us in a timely manner if things are not going according to plan, so we can work on a viable solution together.
Ability to talk to a mod of someone's choosing: this has always been the case, the list of mods is available to view on the rules page, as well as clearly visible on discord! You can DM any member of the mod team at any given time, although a reply might come some time later due to time zone differences.
We will continue to allow everyone to join the KBB, regardless of their previous involvement in the fandom, the KBB itself, and whether they have finished all their previous works for all other projects they have participated in or not.
We will aim to open beta sign ups at the start of the bang, so there will be a bigger beta pool from the beginning and hopefully we will be able to pair up anyone who will need a beta with one. However, we urge people to look for their own betas where possible, as it is not guaranteed that we will be able to provide one for the project, considering how many participants there are.
We will try to make more use of the discord server for posting announcements and reminders as well as posting more on both the tumblr and twitter throughout the bang. Unfortunately 2020 hit us all hard and we didn’t get to do things such as Tips & Tricks and Participant Profiles like we usually do.
For KBB 2021 we will require artists and authors to exchange emails. In previous bangs we’ve allowed people to opt-out of this and use alternate contact methods. This year primary point of contact will be through email and once people are paired up partners can choose how they want to keep in touch moving forward.
If anyone would like any clarification on any of the above, please feel free to contact us!
