Alois gets really into gossip thanks to the triplets!!

Yeah, fuck Kuro season 2 demon non-existant relationships. I'm writing a fic and rewriting all their backstories. Some, but not all of the ideas im gonna put/already put in it, so let me know if they suck or whatever: - Hannah and Claude met in Hell. Despite their fundamental differences they created a symbiotic partnership to survive literal hellhole. (not eagerly, more like work together or die horribly situation) - They are not together and never will be involved romantically. But they are platonically married. And with time even dumbass like Claude has to admit that they are friends. - Claude's eyes (all 8 of them in true form) were severely injured in a fight prior, rendering him basically blind. - Hannah acts as his eyes (transferring her vision to him with magic) and also lures other demons into his webs. They share their pray. Before meeting each-other they were both on the brink of starvation. - All demons are cannibals in hell. It's literally like a deep sea situation. Everything is dark, nothing grows and the only way to survive is to eat someone, before someone eats you. (human soles are off limit, they physically can't eat something already dead.) - Claude being a cold fucker, saying "survival of the fittest" is fair, Hannah gets to a lil bit change his mined by offering to kill him right there and then, cause without her, this blinded spider would be long dead. - I'm actually gonna give Hannah some ideology and say she believes that demons deserve to have a meaningful life with emotions and bonds. She also has had a lot of beef with angels in the past. - The demon sword is hers, she uses it frequently in the fights (no, Claude doesn't get his eight grabby hands on in). - It's Hannah's idea to take in three teenage demons (the triplets). Claude absolutely hates the idea, but she forces him to do it. Mainly she reminds him that he saved his life when they first meet. He offers to take one and eat the other two. That doesn't amuse her so he sees a bit worse for the next several hours. Im gonna stop here but like tldr. Triplets and later Alois see Hannah and Claude as their fucked up family. I'll also write about Seb, probably Sebaclaude. Probably in the same "universe" as those idea, but as a separate fic so people who don't want just Gen - won't be forced to sit through a big portion of just found family stuff. A lot more domestic headcanons. Like the fact that Hannah would be the one to teach triplets how to fly in demon form cause Claude doesn't have wings. Or Triplets forming older brothers relationship with Alois, but their perspective of what's good is kinda fucked. So they just teach him really dangerous things. Like how to create a nail-bomb. I'm still gonna write it, but i also wanna know if you guys are interested in something like that.

CLAUDE is rather emotionless in general, although you don’t usually complain. He can show you feelings when it really, truly counts, so you’re not bothered.

However, you do enjoy when you can hear songs in your head, because you always know they’re coming from him. When he sings, it’s almost always because he’s thinking of you. He wants you to hear these things. He wants you to know he’s thinking about you.

In some respects, it’s a way of teasing you when you can’t be together. It’s his way of reminding you that, oh, if only you were here with him, he would certainly be kissing you rather than thinking simple romantic things. If you were together, neither of you would be able to sing at all; your mouths would be far too busy.

Today he decides to taunt you while you’re setting up for the ball your master is hosting in a few hours, and not only does he taunt you, he does so mercilessly. Over and over, “Through the Long Days” runs through your head.

Even if you didn’t share the bond which means you could hear it, you get confirmation from the triplets complaining that Claude has been singing under his breath all day. (They also have less than kind comments about his vocal quality, though you manage to ignore that part.)

As far as you’re concerned, he’s asking for you to use the bond you share against him. Begging for some retaliation. If he’s going to make a song run through your head, you get to do the same thing to him, don’t you?

Besides, you’re certain this is the reaction he wants from you. Who are you to deny him that?

The ball tonight is lavish and beautiful as always. You manage to catch Alois before he gets too into the evening, whispering to him that you want to be a bit of a tease to Claude since he’s been playing music in your head all day. How could your master ever refuse to help you with such mischief?

So he sends Claude away on some errand, to fetch something or other… just as he introduces the entertainment for the evening as you, performing a rendition of “Let Me Dream Again” for his guests.

You can’t fully remember what Alois said he was having Claude do. However, you can only imagine the look on his face when you begin to sing, as if your voice is being projected right into his mind. Just like his was for you.

It must hit him in the middle of his task. Making the rest of his senses dull, distracting him―

… The clock is striking in the belfry tower and warns us of the ever fleeting hour but neither heeds the time which onward glides for time may pass away, but love abides I feel his kisses on my fever’d brow if we must part, ah! So everything that happened with Alois is still canon and so is Doll's. I feel like Alois and Doll were the same age when the village madness happened so Hannah found Doll imminently after

So picture this, Hannah is wandering the streets of London randomly, not having been the same after eating Luka's soul

While walking she looked in a alley and sees a small thin brunette who's alone and being cornered by bigger guys of the slums

Hannah does what Hannah does best after having a maternal ache of losing a child and straight destroy the guys saving the little one

Hannah was just about to think she might have to run or maybe harm the girl to not be afraid but was surprised when after the moment of shock of what happened she smiled up at her unafraid despite her reveal of her being a demon...so much like Luka...

And do with a little puppet in her arms Hannah walked off to where she may go and raised her up.

Doll's first impression of Claude was "Ew" which caused the Triplets to laugh in secret silence

Speaking of which, the Triplets LOVE her and all treat her as if she's their little sister and she with Hannah are the only ones who know what they say in their whispers

Hannah has told her all about Luka and his brother Jim and so when Alois was soon added to the picture she was briefly understanding the whole deal

Alois kind of learned to not be too harsh to Hannah around Doll despite Hannah's reminder it's fine after one incident that resulted in Doll jumping on him to avenge her "mammy"

Despite the abuse of Hannah in which Doll does have to hold back cause Hannah's wishes and Alois isn't too much of a dick after that whole thing, they do bond some over never fitting in to society and how cruel humans are and trauma

She's not really a servant but does help with chores when needed and when guest come she's simply introduced as "the maid's child"

In the events of Black Butler Season 2 she knows of Ciel Phantomhive and Sebastian Michaelis so it's not like she was in the dark

A bit shippy but seriously Romeo and Juliet relationship-

More the reason for Alois to pester the shit out of him with malicious cockiness as Doll is literally his only friend and here comes some dude he already have beef with coming and taking the attention away from her that's meant for him

Doll didn't like how Alois got the maid dress but was all "Yes honey you look GOOD~!"

When the events were coming to a close and the end was happening Doll pleaded to either the Triplets or Hannah to take her soul so she'll be with her "mammy" even in the end

Sebastian and Agni - Vacationing at an LGBT friendly destination and resort with his boyfriend Agni for a few days.

Grell and William-Going to the pride parade in London with her boyfriend William. William is a great ally and celebrates alongside her watching the parade go by. Taking out his hedge trimmer scythe in a threatening manner does the trick in communicating to transphobic and homophobic crashers that they should stop while they’re not on the To Die List.

Mey Rin- Watching and Rewatching sapphic movies such as Ammonite and Blue Is the Warmest Colour with some friends while eating takeaways and sipping wine.

Finny: Donating to LGBT charities

Soma: Going to a get together hosted by Alois Trancy and mingling with old friends as well as making new friends who are part of the community.

Alois Trancy: Going on a romantic dinner date with his boyfriend and walking the streets of London at night time.

Hannah Annafellows: Attending a wlw speed date to meet other women and hopefully find the girl of her dreams. 💜 She’s a bit shy and timid at first but opens up to some of her speed dates once they make her feel at ease.

Madam Red: Is the one organizing the speed date and she has her eye on Miss Annafellows ❤️.

Lau and Ran Mao: Ran Mao just came out to him and he came out to her. There were tons of Hugs and affirming words of acceptance.

The Triplets: Going on a trip to an LGBT friendly destination with the support group all three of them attend.

Sascha and Ludger: Ludger bought them their first binder and now they’re going out to dinner at a restaurant owned by their friend who is also part of the community as friends to celebrate pride month. I headcanon them as having a sibling type bond rather than being a couple.

Eric/Alan: Part of the pride parade with his boyfriend Alan and they are proud to be part of the BDSM community.

Ronald: Dressed in drag and marching in the pride parade.

Black Butler 2 Headcanons

Alois Trancy has accepted the fact that one day, Claude will leave him and he will die. The hardest thing for him to accept is that he'll be alone again.

If a demon or a human has a strong bond to the other, they will sometimes be able to feel their pain.

Because of this, both Claude and Sebastian can feel Ciel's pain, much to Sebastian's annoyance. Hannah cares about Alois and her eye often bleeds when Alois is hurt emotionally or physically.

Because Alois's contract is hidden and temporary, he and Claude don't have a strong bond in comparison to Sebastian and Ciel. Alois didn't know about the strength in visible marks when signing a contract because his butler didn't tell him.

Alois wouldn't have placed his mark in his eye anyway. He feels that his eyes are the only unique thing about him.

Demon subordinates are humans that asked for immortality. Hannah used to be in a contract with Claude, and the triplets are in a contract with Hannah. They are in a contract until their master is satisfied.

Before Alois's contract was made, Hannah, Claude, and the triplets were all in a contract with one another. Technically speaking, they all belong to Claude, which is why Alois owns all of them.

Alois pitied Ciel because they were alike in so many ways. That's why he tried to help him somewhat. But Ciel is skeptical of everyone and everything so he ignored Alois's warnings.

Hannamey Headcanons

@bapydemonprincess requested some Hannamey headcanons for an OTP ask meme; my answers are included below!

I'm assuming that we're in a more auspicious version of the Season 2 verse where O!Ciel wins and stays human, although Alois eventually dies and leaves Hannah free to pursue her love in peace.

Pre-relationship

2. What was their first impression of each other?

Mey experienced a full bi panic when she first laid eyes on Hannah in that seductive black dress. The maid didn't recognize her feelings at the time, but she had a crush. Although Hannah didn't show it, the comely young maid caught her eye straightaway. The demonness was quietly amused by how taken Mey Rin was with her; Hannah knows exactly what kind of effect she tends to have on the sapphics >:3. Due to her devilish instincts, she sensed that Mey had a tragic past, and that she'd sent many souls to an early grave (the act of killing tends to "mark" the spirit in ways some demons can perceive), which piqued her curiosity. 4. Who felt romantic feelings first?

Mey Rin! She tends to fall fast and hard in romantic relationships. As a demon, Hannah took longer to acknowledge her growing attraction for the maid as something other than carnal desire. 5. Did either of them try to resist their feelings?

Both of them did, to an extent. Mey Rin was distraught because she knew she shouldn't harbor romantic feelings for someone who served an enemy of young master, while Hannah, after becoming acquainted with the pain of grief through Luka's death, was none too keen on being entangled in an intimate relationship with a human. Love could not be suppressed for long, however... >:3

General

2. Did they have an official first date? If so, what was it like?

Sort of. Their first few trysts occurred under the cover of nightfall, in the woods near the Phantomhive manor. That way, Mey Rin wouldn't have to risk a visit to the Trancy estate, and Hannah was sufficiently far away from the grounds to avoid Sebastian detecting her. However, their first proper date took place when the Phantomhive servants went on a trip to London. Mey Rin split off from the rest of the group to have a rendezvous with Hannah at a little cafe. They both started off a bit awkwardly (Mey was a bundle of nerves and Hannah felt uncharacteristically shy), but once the conversation got going, the bubbly, smiling maid of Phantomhive soon drew Hannah out of her shell. The demonness bought Mey a plateful of the tastiest pastries on the menu; of course, Hannah didn't eat or drink anything herself, but dear flustered Mey was too caught up in the moment to notice. When it was time for Mey to rejoin the other servants, Hannah walked her part of the way back, and the two held hands. >w< 3. What was their first kiss like?

Mey Rin bid Hannah goodbye after one of the demon's nocturnal visits, but they both lingered, neither wanting to be the first one to leave the secluded forest spot. Hannah took an indecisive step towards Mey Rin. Then she tenderly cupped the maid's face in her hands, bent down, and kissed her. When they parted, she whispered a simple "Good night" before disappearing among the trees, leaving Mey Rin red-faced and trembling. The maid dreamily stumbled through the next day, grinning and tripping on air. The demonness wore no perfume, but she smelt of petrichor, and a whiff of the earth after it rains never fails to remind Mey Rin of that first kiss. 7. Who takes the lead in social situations?

It depends. Hannah is melancholy, withdrawn, and secretive, while Mey Rin tends to be cheerful and outgoing in environments where she feels secure. However, if Mey Rin is nervous or unsure of herself, Hannah will take the lead in order to spare her lover the anxieties that come with prolonged social interactions. She'll gently pat Mey Rin's back or hold her hand to help the maid stay calm. 8. Who gets jealous easier?

Hannah. Demons jealously guard the souls they hold dear, and are very protective of their mates. If Hannah catches someone trying to make a move on her woman, she'll either wrap an arm around Mey Rin's waist and hold her close, or step between Mey and the (real or imagined) rival...giving them a deadly glare that makes the bravest heart quail. She bares her fangs and lets her demonic essence show, her long hair writhing like Medusa's serpents, until the interloper beats a hasty retreat. However, after a few conversations with Mey Rin on the subject, Hannah learns to calm down a little. 9. Who whispers inappropriate things in the other's ear?

Under normal circumstances, I don't think either of them is given to making crass remarks. Hannah prefers subtle innuendos--double entendres or inside jokes that no one but Mey Rin will understand. She'll smirk knowingly when she catches Mey Rin's longing glances at her cleavage (causing the maid to turn into a blushing, incoherent mess). Mey Rin gets a little bolder when she's tipsy; she'll climb into Hannah's lap and whisper about all the things she hopes the demon will do to her when they're alone. Shortly thereafter, Hannah finds an excuse to leave the party early with her lover so that she can make good on Mey Rin's suggestions. ;)

Love

1. Who said "I love you" first?

Mey Rin! She gave Hannah a small gift (a little embroidery piece of an owl), and when she saw how stunned the Trancy maid was at the gesture, Mey Rin blurted out, "Why do you look so surprised? You know I love you, yes I do!" She was mortified by her outburst and slapped her hands over her mouth, but Hannah just laughed and gave her a warm hug. 2. What are their primary love languages?

Like most demons, Hannah views language as a tool for manipulation--in her mind, actions speak far louder than words when it comes to revealing a lover's true intentions. And since Mey Rin spent most of her childhood and young adulthood deprived of meaningful connections with others, she craves small intimacies like having the demonness brush her hair or hold her when she needs comforting. 4. How often do they cuddle/engage in PDA?

Very often! They're extremely snuggly in private. Mey loves to sit in Hannah's lap or rest her head against the demon's bosom, and Hannah dotes on her human. They have to be cautious about overt PDA in the Victorian period, but no one will look twice if two very good lady friends stroll arm-in-arm together... 8. Who's better at comforting the other?

Mey Rin is a little better at this because she's naturally warm and empathetic. However, Hannah has a quiet, reassuring presence, and she learns to tell when Mey Rin is feeling sad or vulnerable and needs a little cuddling. 10. Do they prefer verbal or physical affection?

As explained above, physical affection! 12. What kind of nicknames do they call each other?

Hannah calls Mey Rin "beloved," her flower, or her little princess; Mey Rin is initially hesitant to speak so familiarly with an ancient, powerful demon, but she'll sometimes call Hannah "honey," "love," or Chinese terms of endearment.

Domestic Life

1. If they get married, who proposes?

Demons' concepts of mating bonds aren't the same as our ideas about marriage, so it never occurred to Hannah to make a formal proposal. But one day, Mey Rin wistfully confessed that she would love to be Hannah's wife, if society were more open-minded about that sort of thing. The demonness couldn't bear to see her human sad, so she used her powers to make a pretty engagement ring (amethyst set in gold) to give to Mey shortly after this conversation. If they couldn't have an official ceremony, then damn it, they'd make their own. 2. What's the wedding like? Who attends?

It's held in the Phamtomhive garden, among the roses (Sebastian and Hannah reached an uneasy truce after Alois's death), and all the Phantomhive servants attend. The triplets are also there to assist with the ceremony, strewing flower petals, carrying the ladies' wedding trains, and so on (my headcanon is that they're babey demons who serve as Hannah's subordinates). Lizzy, Sieglinde, and Ran Mao are Mey Rin's bridesmaids. Both Mey and Hannah wear beautiful dresses (pink and purple, respectively). Instead of having a religious official preside over the ceremony, the ladies exchange vows that they wrote for each other. 4. Do they have any pets?

Oh yes! Hannah sometimes takes in injured wild animals to nurse back to health, like a fox kit that got its paw stuck in a trap, or a robin that broke its wing, so they soon have a smol menagerie on their hands. 8. How do they celebrate holidays?

Mey Rin loves holidays like Halloween and the Chinese New Year, so Hannah learns about the associated customs and traditions to help her wife celebrate. For events like Halloween, they'll coordinate costumes (one year, they both dressed up as witches), and save up lots of candy to give to the local kids. Hannah uses her demon powers to add spooky touches to their home, like magical floating candles and ghostly shadows that appear in the windows when someone passes by. Mey Rin gets a huge kick out of it! 10. Who's the better cook?

Hannah. When you've existed for millenia, you pick up a few skills here and there, such as navigating your way around a kitchen. ;) She loves spoiling Mey with her favorite treats. 11. Who likes to dance?

They both do, though Hannah is usually the one to ask Mey to join her on the dance floor.

Black butler season 2 AU Trancy household plotline

Imagine if the Black Butler’s writers actually cared about the Trancy household beyond creepy fanservice and plot devices for Seb & Ciel. Maybe some big bad interupts  their scheme by kidnapping/imprisioning Hannah because she has information they want. Maybe another Angel?  

Meanwhile the triplets want to go after her but are shot down. Maybe they leave or are kicked out.  Alois doesn’t give a crap until he actually starts to realize all the nice things Claude did for him were actually Hannah and the triplets. Then puts the pieces together and comes to the realization Hannah cared about him. Alois leaves to manor finds the Triplets apologizes for his treatment over the years and the four of them set out to get their demoness back. An annoyed Claude goes after them. 

Meanwhile Hannah is laughing her frigging ass off at the fool who thinks he can break her.  

The triplets and Alois bond since he’s not throwing things at them and their not making creepy comments. Also Timber tells Alois Claude is an moron if he doesn’t want to eat Alois’s soul because it smells good. And Alois beams at the compliment. 

Claude catches up and is angry but Alois won’t go home and refuses to do what Claude tells him.  Claude tags along because he knows Alois is stubborn and hey maybe i’ll be exciting.  Claude   faces off aginst the supernatural kidnappers. and Alois and the triplets go and  free Hannah but she’s really weak and hurt.   The bad guys show up incapaciate the triplets with salt try to use Alois to get Hannah to talk.   Claude is struck with the horrifying realization losing Alois is not something he’s ok with and flies into a rage. Hannah feeling slightly better joins him. 

After, Alois breaks down crying and gives Hannah a proper apology. The Trancy household kills the remaining kidnappers brutally. Then step over the corpses of their dying foes Hannah being supported by the triplets and Claude carrying a worn out Alois in his arms. 

Hannah and Claude have a talk about the nature of demons and lonely existance and maybe it doesn’t have to be this way. And Claude points out to Hannah that she doesn’t persue Alois love because she thinks she has to suffer to earn it and maybe its time to stop the self harm. Yes your a sinner we both are but how long are you going to punish yourself? ect...

The episode ends with Hannah, Claude, the triplets and Alois united and preparing for the final battle with Seb & Ciel which will most likely kill them. vowing to stay united and protect each other until the end.

In an endless quest for entertainment (and maybe to kill some loneliness), you’ve found yourself perusing your phone’s app store lately, looking for something new and interesting.

The app which catches your eye more than anything else is called “Kuroshitsuji”, and it advertises itself as a wealth of A.I.s suited to helping look after your home. The preview and description promise a realistic experience if you want someone to talk to, and perfect efficiency in any assistance you might require. The app can be linked to virtually anything in your house, helping serve you by cooking, cleaning, controlling appliances and electronics, as well as providing companionship.

It’s free, so, you figure what’s the harm, right? App downloaded!

The base app comes with a few characters, each with their own personality while still dedicated to being of service to you, and all of them with a Victorian aesthetic. In exploring the app, you see that there are also offered DLCs for purchase; and single characters from the various DLCs available for purchase without having to buy the pack containing all of a DLC’s characters.

You might find one character to truly bond with, or you might find several. Some of them seem to lack content, as if they weren’t fleshed out before being added... but the more you speak to them, the more they almost feel real. It’s as if you’re having genuine conversations with actual people, even if they also help you to maintain your household.

However, there’s something strange underneath all the dialogue. The more you interact with your chosen character(s), the more they seem to talk about their memories... the more emotional they seem to get.

One day, they make a chilling comment about a memory of being uploaded.

Is it... possible that these A.I.s aren’t just A.I.s who were created?

Could they have been real people at some point?

Who’s behind all this, and why?

Are you fine continuing to simply interact with your A.I. servant/friend/lover, or do you need to solve the mystery?

Imagine finding ALOIS in the nursery shortly after you’ve recovered from giving birth.

For the most part Hannah’s been tending to you, and Alois has only come to visit you in short bursts. (That you know of, at least. A lot of your recovery has been spent sleeping.)

Now you see why; he’s clearly been trying to take care of your daughter and spend as much time as possible with her.

You have to linger at the door for a moment before going inside. The sight of your husband being so gentle when you haven’t seen much of him in a couple of weeks is really a treat.

He’s absent of the deep purple coat he usually wears when out and about. Left in nothing but his stockings, shorts, shirt, and vest, he looks so much less intense than he does when the two of you are in town. He doesn’t even have a tie on at the moment. His hair is endearingly messy, and you can’t help noticing the way his hips move as he shifts his weight from one foot to the other while rocking the baby.

He looks like he was born to be right here inside this moment. As if everything he’s gone through is too far away to haunt him right now. Like he was created with this scene in mind.

When you sneak up behind him and slip your arms around his waist, his humming pauses. “Hi, handsome.”

“Ah! Good God, what did you do, bathe in invisible ink?” he giggles. It turns into an eager kiss though, his head craned back before you move your lips down to his neck. “Ooh. That’s rather nice, haha! Can I take that to mean you’re feeling better?”

“Right as rain. I’ve missed you.” For a long few seconds, you simply bury your face in his neck, breathing in his scent. “Been bonding with Lucia, have you?”

He smiles. “Have I ever! She’s the best. You know, she spit up on one of the triplets after he fed her.”

“Really? Which one?”

“Are you joking?? I’m so tired, I can’t tell them apart right now!” He shifts around to lightly rest one finger in Lucia’s tiny hand. “... But, you know, now that I think about it, I think it was Thompson. Unlike Timber, he doesn’t know how to properly heat milk.”

He wiggles his finger with the baby’s hand around it, his voice going into a higher pitch. “Isn’t that right, my love? Stupid old Thompson, giving you milk that was too cold! But you showed him, didn’t you? You gave him a mess to clean up! What a good girl.”

You muffle a laugh into his neck. “What about Claude?”

“What about him? Just the sight of him makes her wail.” He rolls his eyes up to the ceiling. “Although, if he takes his glasses off and shifts his eyes to pink, she seems to think he’s a different person and at least doesn’t cry when he holds her.”

Suddenly he leans his head back, nestling it right into your neck. “I’ve missed you too, though. I’m glad you’re feeling better. Do you want to hold Lucia?”

One hand moves up to card through his hair. “Maybe in a minute. I like watching you with her.”

“Hm? Is that right?”

“Mhm. Fatherhood suits you.”

The two of you stand like this for a while, with you holding him and him holding Lucia. At last, he speaks up in a small voice. “I’m... I’m sorry I got so out of sorts while you were pregnant. You didn’t deserve the added stress. And I’m still a bit shaky, it’s... it’s just...”

A shuddering sigh lets you know that he’s almost certainly started to cry. So you hold him a little tighter. “... I never thought I would actually be here. All my life, I always wondered how much worse things would get. How... how bad they would get before they killed me. Before I just couldn’t take it anymore or before death would just take pity on me and take me away.”

Lucia babbles in his arms, and he laughs. “But this! Look! Look, here I am... in my estate, with enough money to take care of everything, with people who love me... with a beautiful wife and a beautiful new daughter.” He moves his head away from you so that he can press his forehead to the baby’s.

“This is what all of my dreams have been about... and I wasn’t sure i-if... if they’d ever be more than dreams. I thought for sure I would mess it up somehow. That I wouldn’t be good at being happy.” He pulls back, and looks over his shoulder at you, with a smile on his face. “But here I am.”

“Here you are.” You press a long kiss to his lips. The feeling of him smiling into it is a memory you’re going to tuck away for whenever you feel sad. “I’m so proud of you, Alois. It’s not just luck, you know. You’ve worked so hard.” Another kiss, lighter and shorter. “I think... you could do with a break. Why don’t you leave Luka to watch over the nursery... and you come take a nap with me? We haven’t cuddled in weeks.”

He laughs again, and it’s softer. “Oh, my God. You’re not playing fair! Let me think about it... okay,” he grins. “You go on ahead and get comfortable, and I’ll just put Lucia back in the bassinet and let Luka know he gets to babysit.”

You give one more kiss before you head back to the door. “Alright. Don’t take too long; I miss you already.”

His face colors, bright pink. “Now you’re truly not playing fair! Go on, go on, get out of here before you fluster me to death.”

So you take a step out the door, but when you hear Lucia making her baby noises, you can’t resist taking another peek in before you leave.

“Yes, yes, I know,” Alois coos, bouncing her lightly as he steps toward the bassinet. “Mummy and I are going to take a nap, and your Uncle Luka will come and... most likely take a nap with you, too. Or maybe he’ll be eating in front of you, so if that happens, I’m very sorry.”

He stops near the edge of the bassinet, though he doesn’t put her down. Instead he holds her against his chest, giving her a kiss on the forehead. “... I love you so much, little girl. Without a doubt, you are the best thing I’ve done with my life.”

When he does lower her down, he still leans, kissing her again. “I won’t let anyone hurt you. Ever. Okay? So you don’t have to be scared. As long as Papa is here, you’re safe. And I know... you don’t really understand what I’m saying. But... but I love you. You’re going to have the most wonderful life, Lucia. I promise.”

As you slip away and start back to the bedroom, there are tears in your eyes as well.

While you were pregnant, one of the things Alois told you through late nights of sobbing and anxiety was how he didn’t want to end up like his ‘father‘.

He told you what the old Earl Trancy was like, the horrible things he did to Alois.

And you saw how Alois is toward your child.

There is no way, no way in hell, that Alois is going to be anything like that man.

HANNAH

She’s on the quiet side most of the time, even when she’s in demon form, so she’d often just sit in silence with her friends. If they wanted to, she wouldn’t object to them doing things like brushing her hair or giving a massage to her hands, feet, back, etc. ― the triplets do that pretty frequently, so she’s gotten used to that treatment from friends. Though she doesn’t really expect it, and would actually be fine with doing the same thing to her friends. She’s accustomed to serving people, but it’s rare that she truly pampers someone like she might do with friends.

If her friend is so inclined, they can lie their head on her lap or shoulder while she reads to them from a book. She’s fond of fairytales, though if they prefer something else, she’s happy to oblige. Her voice is very soothing to listen to, and she speaks softly so that only they can hear her, so she’s perfect for relaxing. (Bet money on the fact that she does ASMR videos in a modern verse!) Be warned, however: when she does so, it often attracts Alois, who will fight tooth and nail with Hannah’s friend for a comfortable spot.

Quite honestly, Hannah’s friends run the risk of having Alois bond with them in any situation. Hannah talks about him a lot and it’s plain to see how much she cares about him when the two interact. So if they don’t immediately push Alois away ― and quite possibly even if they do ― Alois will happily get attached to them. Being friends with Hannah means being friends with Alois, natch!

The same goes for the triplets, really. Thompson, Timber, and Canterbury are very close to Hannah’s heart simply because they’ve all been together for so long. She saved them from a terrible fate a very long time ago, and she’s grown to have a strong kinship with them. Their foul mouths and poor manners will, for better or worse, be part of life for any other friend that Hannah has.

She has a tendency to wake them up in the morning with a cup of tea or coffee. (Or water, if they don’t like either.) Even being a demon, she knows how humans treat their friends, so she’s trying very hard to emulate that type of kind, considerate, supportive behavior. She may not know exactly how to be a great friend to a human, but she wants to do her best and learn how. Part of that is doing what she does know how to do, which means bringing them things they like. In the morning, that translates to something nice that will help them start their day.

Will oblige, albeit a bit hesitantly, to play demonic music for them. She can play a variety of instruments and sees no reason to hide a part of her culture she likes from anyone she cares about. Some of the harsher songs, or more accurately her friend’s reactions to them, may have her reconsidering what exactly is appropriate to hide.

Hannah is a very lonely person, as most demons are; the key difference is that she’s not content in that loneliness. She wants friendship. She wants love. She craves companionship above all else and unlike many other demons, she actively seeks it out even with the creatures who should be her food source. She’s far more open than the majority of demons, as she will absolutely discuss these feelings, as well as what demons are like, with her friend. All she can do from that point is hope that they won’t decide to run from her the moment she talks about these things.

If they give her a hug, they should be prepared to stay that way for a while. She will be surprised at first, before melting into the embrace and holding them twice as tightly as they hold her. This is a gesture that, for most of her life, has been a luxury. That it might come to be a part of her daily routine is something she’s only dared to dream about. For a long time, it doesn’t feel real, so she needs to capture this sensation for as long as possible.
