Backstory
In high school, you were best friends with Sam Hubbard, but he graduated a year before you and was off to Ohio State while you were stuck in your hometown.
When you finally graduated and Ohio State accepted you, that was the only right option for you. Once you were moved in and set to start university, you contacted Sam and asked if he’d like to meet and catch up.
He was throwing a party at his apartment that night and he invited you to come, saying you two could catch up there and he could introduce you to a few of his friends. If only you knew that night you’d be meeting your whole future.
When you arrived you found Sam walking around greeting people and he was quick to pull you into a hug. Soon he was directing you towards a table of guys that you had been told were his friends.
You were introduced to Nick Bosa, but it seemed like someone else Sam wanted to introduce you to had disappeared. Next thing you knew, Sam was leading you into the basement.
That’s when you saw him.
The boy who introduced himself as “Joe” was sitting on the basement couch playing video games by himself.
Sam had left you two alone to make his rounds again, and you found yourself deep in conversation with Joe.
He had told you that he played football with Sam and that he was a quarterback, but that was the least interesting thing about him. After exchanging numbers that night, everything was purely platonic till his senior year.
To everyone, except you two, it was so obvious that you guys had crushes on each other. When he told you he was transferring you thought your dreams of being with him were over, but just a few days before he moved to Louisiana he confessed his feelings; telling you he was mind-blowingly in love with you.
The first year of your relationship being long distance sucked, but you never left his side.
You were ecstatic when Joe got drafted by the Bengals, you were so proud of him, but that also meant you could move back to your hometown in Cincinnati.
Sam was already there playing with the Bengals so you were also happy that Joe had a teammate he was already close with.
Once you two landed in Cincy, Joe was giving you a tour of the house he bought when he asked you to move in with him.
From then on it was you two against the world.
These imagines follow you and Joe through the path of life while you two are also navigating the NFL and Joe being a celebrity, all while trying to have a good healthy relationship.

Killjoy Legacy Challenge
Hey! You! Are you a My Chemical Romance fan who wants their sim to live the Killjoy life? Or are you just a sims player who wants their sim to live a post-apocalyptic lifestyle? Well…we may have the right challenge for you!
This is the Killjoy Legacy Challenge, a challenge based around Danger Days, the 4th studio album by My Chemical Romance, it’s music videos, and The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys comics, California and National Anthem, written by MCR’s lead singer Gerard Way and Shaun Simon…and maybe some headcanons by fans as well.
This challenge was created by my best friend Niamh, who is @frankierosbackbends on here, and myself- we’re both huge MCR fans who love the Killjoys universe and the sims!
Apologies if this may not be the best- this is our first time doing something like this.
General Rules:
You can use money cheats, but not to an extent. You can use freerealestate on to move onto the lot you desire but that’s it. You’re in the apocalypse, you’re gonna have to work hard for your money- or carbons, in the Killjoy universe.
You can be the Killjoy of each generation, but you don’t have to- you can also create your own sim! Just as long as you follow the rules of each generation and all, you’re good to go!
You’re in the apocalypse, your kids won’t be going to school. You can either use mods for this or not send your kids to school. Be careful though, the game will threaten to take them away if they get a grade F!
The partner for each generation doesn’t matter as they aren’t a part of this challenge unless specified.
Feel free to create a storyline with each generation! As long as you follow the rules of each generation, you’re all good to go and go wild with your imagination!
Keep the lifespan of a sim on normal.
With all of that out of the way, let’s get into each generation and their rules!
Tumblr media
Generation One: Mike Milligram
You always loved riding around with your friends and soulmate, blasting your music, especially the Ramones. You adored the Ramones. You could be pretty annoying about it too. You also love going adventures with your friends- anything to distract yourself from the apocalypse.
Traits - Adventurous, Music Lover, Perfectionist
Aspiration - Successful Lineage
Career - Odd Job
Rules:
Date but never marry your soulmate
Have only one child
Master the charisma skill
Generation Two: Val Velocity
You’re an asshole. And you’re pretty irrational. Those are the two best ways to describe you. You don’t think before you do things and you don’t think before you say something. Your friends and family tolerate you (somehow) but you can definitely be difficult to be around. Except for your best friend. They’re pretty cool, you guess.
Traits - Mean, Jealous, Self-Absorbed
Aspiration - Public Enemy
Career - Odd Job
Rules:
Make a best friend that has at least one same trait as you
Have at least 5 enemies
Have 3 close friends (excluding your family)
Master the mischief skill (for mean interactions)
Generation Three: Show Pony
You just adored rollerblading! It was always hard to get those things off your feet. You either rollerbladed down the road or always took yourself to the abandoned roller rink. It was a big difference from your parents who were…well, y’know. You loved them but they could be difficult. Anyways- you also don’t talk much. You necessarily aren’t an introvert, but you were always on the move and didn’t have the time to talk to anyone.
Traits - Active, Dance Machine, Cheerful
Aspiration - Bodybuilder
Career - Odd Job
Rules:
Master the athletic, skating, and dance skills (skating is a hidden skill- the way to tell if your sim is improving is by how well they can skate. Stating this for those who may not know!!)
Have only 3 close friends other than your family
Flirt with at least 3-5 people before finding your partner
Generation Four: DJ Hot Chimp
You just loved music, all kinds of music. You always heard something different whenever your parent took you to the roller rink. Because of that, it eventually turned into a dream of being a DJ. Luckily, there were a few abandoned clubs across the desert that Killjoys loved to party in where you could live your dream. You were loud with bright colors and loud with your music.
Traits - Party Animal, Music Lover, Outgoing
Aspiration - Party Animal
Career - Odd Job
Rules:
Master the DJ mixing skill
Meet your partner at one of your sets
Be best friends with your child
Generation Five: Cherri Cola
You were the introvert of your family…your very extroverted family. Yes, you loved them, you loved them a lot. But they definitely could be a lot sometimes. While you did pick up some of their interests such as music, you fell in love with books. You just read and read…it’s your favorite thing to do, besides writing poetry. Despite being a world certified introvert, you’re also the best shot in the desert. You looked around your enemies, not at them.
Traits - Bookworm, Loner, Socially Awkward
Aspiration - Nerd Brain
Career - Odd Job
Rules:
Master the logic and wellness skills
Write in your journal everyday/every other day of your life (this will act as you writing your poems)
Must have Great Storyteller trait (can be bought in the reward store- needed pack is Outdoor Retreat)
Read and tuck your child in every night
Generation Six: Jet Star
You were always calm and the most rational one. It took a lot to piss you off. And when you did get pissed off…well, it wasn’t pretty. It always caught everyone off guard. You’re the most mature of the group, besides your parent, and treat others how they would like to be treated. You’re the one-eyed hero that always tried to keep everyone levelheaded…and alive.
Traits - Proper, Genius, Self-Assured
Aspiration - Inner Peace
Career - Odd Job
Rules:
Master the guitar and charisma skills
Complete the Artistic Prodigy aspiration as a child
Earn at least 3 positive character value traits
Generation Seven: Fun Ghoul
You’re the biggest goofball of them all. You love pulling pranks and being mischievous. It was the one thing that brought joy (or anger) to others. Your joy can practically light up a room. You also love building things with any scrap that you can find. You’re also a bit clumsy, which doesn’t help when you’re building, uh…explosives.
Traits - Goofball, Clumsy, Outgoing
Aspiration - Chief of Mischief
Career - Odd Job
Rules:
Master the mischief, handiness, and comedy skills (master the mischief skill for mischievous interactions)
Have a 100/100 relationship with your partner
Create animal sculptures on the woodworking table to give to your child
Generation Eight: Kobra Kid
You’re the master of having a resting bitch face. And you also wear sunglasses pretty much 24/7. So no one can tell if you’re happy, mad, sad- any emotion that a person can feel basically. You’re also pretty fascinated with snakes, rocks/crystals, cameras, and motorcycles, one of the few things that brings joy to your life.
Traits - Loner, Hot-Headed, Geek
Aspiration - The Curator
Career - Odd Job
Rules:
Have at least 5 flings
Have one failed relationship but remain friends
Collect crystals (you don’t have to complete the collection)
Master the photography skill
Generation Nine: Party Poison
Your color is yellow, which is surprising, considering you have vibrant red hair and are a hothead. Despite this flaw though, you’ve managed to make a decent amount of friends and best of all…find your soulmate. And make some enemies too. All of them make the better side of you come out more…except your enemies, obviously. You also love expressing yourself whenever you get the chance too, whether it’s the clothes you wear, the stuff you sing, or the stuff you paint/draw.
Traits - Hot Headed, Creative, Ambitious
Aspiration - Painter Extraordinaire
Career - Odd Jobs
Rules:
Must marry a goofball
Must have one ex boyfriend/girlfriend
Must adopt one child
Make at least 5 good friends and enemies
Master the singing and painting skills
Generation Ten: The Girl
Growing up you were always told that you were the next hope for this world. At first, you never really understood why. Yeah, you didn’t have a typical childhood, but your parents always tried to make it the best childhood possible. But as you got older, you started to understand more and more. You were gonna be the hero of this world.
Traits - Insider, Cat Lover, Self-Assured
Aspiration - StrangerVille Mystery
Career - Odd Jobs
Rules:
Adopt a stray black cat (can be created in cas if one isn’t found in game)
Defeat The Mother
Master the StrangerVille Mystery aspiration
Again, apologies if this isn’t the best, this is our first time doing something like this. But if you do decide to play this, we hope you have fun! :)

Bucket of Blood Street is located off U.S. Route 66 in the Old Downtown district of Holbrook, Arizona. Bucket of Blood Street is one block south of the historical Santa Fe Railroad station on Navajo Road that was built in 1882. Holbrook was founded in the 1880s as a railroad stop. At the time, the desert town was mainly populated by ranchers, outlaws, cowboys and cattle rustlers, and was known for its gun fights. Holbrook had a reputation as a "town too tough for women and churches".
Terrell's Cottage Saloon had existed on the street for years before coming to be known as Bucket of Blood Saloon, after a violent fight took place resulting in the death of two men. The saloon was popular with cowboys and ruffians; fistfights and gunfights often broke out there. The year 1886 was a particularly violent one and the town lost about ten percent of its population. A fight broke out at the saloon during a card game between rival cattle rustlers, including wranglers from the Hashknife Outfit of the Aztec Land and Cattle Company. The result of the fight was described as though a bucket of blood had been spilled on the floor.
A newspaper account describes another event on January 19, 1896, when the proprietor of the saloon shot and killed two men playing cards: "Suddenly a dispute arose and angry words passed between them." The manager of the saloon, Harry Donnelly, used a revolver to force another man, George C. Hiatt, a barber, into the street and shot him "through the heart" in front of the town drug store. Donnelly was arrested by Deputy Sheriff Hofford who was acting as the county sheriff, as Commodore Perry Owens was out of town at the time. The newspaper report claims that when the widow Hiatt heard the news she fell "lifeless to the floor". The saloon was owned at the time by F. J. Wattron, however Donnelly managed it.
Albert F. Potter's memoir, written around 1888, describes the events leading to the name Bucket of Blood somewhat differently. He wrote of participating in a "roundup on the Little Colorado River range … 12 miles east of Holbrook." At sunrise two horsemen were seen riding towards his party from the direction of Holbrook. One man shouted, "Here we come! All shot to pieces." The head of the other man was wrapped in bloody bandages covering a serious wound. Potter went on to write: "We recognized them as Joe Crawford, a cowboy who had worked for the Aztec Land and Cattle Company known as the Hashknife Outfit, and George Bell, a gambler. Crawford was so weak [from his wounds] that he had to be lifted from the horse he was riding. We laid him on the horse wrangler's bed and with a handful of flour from the cook's bread pan I plastered the wound on his head and stopped the bleeding. Examination showed that a bullet had also passed through the cuff of his shirt and coat sleeve, and just grazed the side of his body. Scars of other old wounds showed that this was not Crawford's first fight."
Potter then describes Bell's involvement in an incident during a card game with a man named Ramon Lopez, during which Lopez struck Crawford in the head with his six-shooter gun. Crawford retaliated by drawing his gun and killing Lopez. Shooting then broke out in the saloon, and Crawford killed another man, after which "Crawford and Bell then made their getaway". Potter went on to write that he believed Joe Crawford "was in fact Grat Dalton, a member of the notorious Dalton Gang of outlaws who was later killed during an attempted bank robbery at Coffeyville, Kansas". Potter concluded that this was the backstory to the naming of Bucket of Blood Saloon.

September Sky Chapter Six, Part 9
"Your friends seem nice. And look at that, I've seen you actually be social. You really are human," Addison said, laughing as she climbed into the driver's seat. I hopped up into the opposite side.
"Don't worry. I'm pretty sure you've met everyone I actually hang out or talk to."
"I bet we find more."
"I won't deny it might be possible. But probably not though. I don't really talk to many people. I don't really like people," I said.
Addison started the truck, and The Ramones's 'Pinhead' blasted us without warning. She scrambled to get it turned down and gave me an apologetic look. "Sorry," she said. A moment or two later we were on the road, heading back into Riverwest. The streetlights dimmed and glowed as we moved through the quiet streets.
"That much is obvious. I guess liking only a very select few people has it's benefits."
"It really does."
It was quiet for a moment. The only sound being The Ramone's still playing three chords.
"I know you haven't been this introverted," Addison asked, breaking the silence. We were sitting at a red light, waiting for it to switch.
"No. I was loud. I was obnoxious. I was very well-known. I had friends. I was social. Outgoing. I was everything you'd expect a punk to be. I was Crazy Chris, after all." There was no use in trying to hide the truth.
"So what happened?" She reached over and grabbed my hand as the light turned green. We pushed through the stop and continued the very short ride. I could feel the stomach acid start to boil.
"Can I plead the fifth on that for now?" Eventually, I would tell her everything that happened, but I didn't want tonight to be that night. That was a serious topic that I needed to prepare for. I hoped she wouldn't push the subject.
"Touchy subject?"
"Sure, something like that," I said, close to a whisper, and staring out into the night.
"Fair enough. I'll be here if and when you want to talk about it."
She squeezed my hand and I smiled at her. This was happening. This was real.
She parked right outside her apartment. The bar below was open, but quiet. I guess Thursday nights aren't all that great for a late crowd. I'm sure if I could've seen inside, I would see the men and women who sleep with their heads laid on the polished wood surface of a bar.
"Would you like to come upstairs? Maybe watch a movie or something?" She asked hesitantly as she turned off the truck. I had to control myself not to seem to overly excited at just the thought.
"Yeah, sure. That sounds fun." Somehow, I managed to keep my cool. On the outside anyway. On the inside I was dancing and jumping for joy.
"Great." You could hear the smile she wore. We got out of the truck and Addison took my hand, leading me up the stairs and into her three-bedroom apartment, away from the city soundscape.
She unlocked the door and we stepped into the dark and quiet apartment. I guess this was to be expected, it was almost two in the morning. It was either very late, or very early. It always depends on which side of sleep your on. It was late for Addison and I.
She flipped a switch and illuminated the huge empty space of the kitchen. A sink from the fifties hung off one wall in white porcelain. A somewhat new looking oven sat across from it on the opposite wall. There were no counters, but there was a giant steel banquet table that held everything a counter would hold. It sat next to a fridge that had seen plenty of better days. One door with no physical door led into a pantry that could easily have housed another person. Diagonally across, a door with a door sat closed.

It's going on 3 am so here's my headcanons for each Radiator Springs Townie's favorite ice cream flavors:
Lightning: Banana. He probably has his own special flavor, like Blueberry Lightning Blast or some shit, and he claims it's that one, but deep down, it's always gonna be Banana. He used to eat it purely to be different from the other kids, but now? It's a guilty pleasure.
Sally: Fudge. It reminds her of movie nights with her sister.
Mater: Neopolitan. It's the best of all worlds! (Pistachio is a close second, though.)
Fillmore: Mint Chocolate Chip. He and Sarge regularly argue about whether or not this is a good flavor.
Sarge: Pistachio. He and Fillmore regularly argue about whether or not this is a good flavor.
Guido: Cookies 'N' Cream. It's like is you took the second step of adding toppings out, so not only is it officiant, it's really freaking good.
Luigi: Eggnog. It's comforting in just the right ways.
Doc: Rum Raisin. "Why would you put alcohol in ice cream?" - Doc, minutes before trying a spoon full and falling in love. That's when he really learned not to judge a book by its cover.
Sheriff: Black Cherry Vanilla. It's refreshing, sweet, and the chunks are always just soft enough. Why choose anything other than perfection?
Ramone: Rocky Road. It's a mess, but God damn it, it's a classic, tasty one. And if that doesn't describe Ramone perfectly, then what does?
Flo: Butter Pecan. It reminds her of being in at the carnival as a child and being in pure awe of all the bright lights and the positive energy, and just knowing that she was going to do something that felt just like that with her life. She thought she had found it with singing, but who knew it would actually lead her to Radiator Springs?
Red: Strawberry. It's not too much, but it's far from too little. He doesn't need any of the extra things that come with other flavors, but there's something about the taste of strawberries that remind him of gardening with Lizzie when they were both younger.
Lizzie: Chocolate. When she was little, it was always her and her two siblings. They would always push for each of them getting their own flavor, and being the youngest, she always got stuck with chocolate. At first she hated it, but it grew on her as she grew up, and now it's a reminder of simpler times.
Stanley: Peanut Butter. Remember being a boy and running off to school with a peanut butter sandwich in a paper brown bag for lunch, and thinking about that sandwich and lunch time in class, which ends up being the one thing pushing you through the day? Yeah, that.

The 1970s - part 3
Punk
Punk fashion originated in the late 70s. Punk rock stripped rock and roll back to its foundations. The punk ethos is primarily made up of beliefs such as non-conformity, anti-authoritarianism, a do-it-yourself ethic, anti-consumerist, anti-corporate greed, direct action, and not "selling out". The clothing represented a darker and harsher view of reality.
Vivienne Westwood’s controversial ‘Destroy’ T-shirt, 1977. The Destroy T- shirt was meant to be an angry condemnation towards government, religion and fascism.
Tumblr media
English punk icons Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren opened the infamous SEX / Seditionaries shop on Kings Road and ultimately deconstructed British fashion, mixing X-rated silk screens, bondage gear, vinyl, rubber and safety pins with iconic English fashions such as plaid kilts and tight stovepipe trousers.
Tumblr media
In America, The punk style was more laid back and not as exaggerated as it was in England. It was amplified by bands such as the Ramones, Blondie, and Richard Hell and the Voidoids. However they opted for a more laid back look with tight jeans, leather motorcycle jackets, sneakers, and ripped t- shirts.

___
Two years have passed
It was a wonderful summer evening, the streets were unusually quiet and calm, of course, cars drove on the roads, but mostly Central City would resemble an ordinary village if it wasn't so big. Of course, the city criminals did not go away, on the contrary, they were becoming more and more, but Flash coped with them. He often worked in tandem with Captain Cold, who decided that he had had enough of robberies, began, like Flash, to wear a mask covering his face and not allowing villains to find out his identity, and bad people were afraid of the tandem of two heroes like fire.
There was a dim light burning in one of the houses, but it was enough to illuminate a room where three people were sitting quietly and peacefully leafing through an album.
"Look how small he was," Barry was touched, looking at a photo of a toddler in a small apron.
Leonard smiled with the corners of his lips, touching his lover's hair with one hand and ruffling it.
The couple officially registered their relationship only a year ago and took a double surname, at the same time the guys adopted a three-year-old boy from an orphanage and, after consulting with each other, gave him the name Henry Maxwell Allen-Snart. The first name was given in honor of his grandfather, Henry Allen, and in order to pick up the second, they thoroughly dug into their pedigrees. Basically, only Barry was digging, Leonard flatly refused this and Allen did not insist, but the guys consulted with each other about the name.
The Stein couple, Raymond, Ramon-Snart and Thawne often came to visit the guys, Joe sometimes came with his daughter and son-in-law. The latter threatened Leonard that if he offended Barry, West would make Snart go to jail for his past deeds.
At the moment, Barry and Snart climbed onto the sofa and looked at the album, along with their son, who was sitting in the arms of Leonard's dad.
"And here's another one," Bartholomew pointed to the photo where Henry was depicted on a family holiday. In the photo, the kid was smiling happily and pulling pens to the photographer, who was Barry.
The boy laughed and asked his father for permission to take this photo in his hands to take a closer look at it. Flash nodded and, carefully removing the desired photo from the album, handed it to his son. He grabbed her with his hands and, smiling, began to look at her curiously, leading a small finger along the color picture.
Allen looked at Henry with tenderness in his eyes, then turned his eyes to Lenny, and suddenly something ached in his chest, because the guy thought that all this could not have happened if Leonard hadn't woken up then. Feeling that a little more and he could not stand it, Barry abruptly jumped up from his seat and, muttering something about "burning cookies", rushed off to the kitchen. The former criminal looked suspiciously after the runaway husband, because he knew that they did not do any baking today.
Smiling at his son and putting his finger to his lips to urge him to sit quietly, Leonard also slipped into the kitchen and froze, hiding at the door jamb. Fortunately, Barry couldn't see him, so he could unabashedly stare at Allen. Captain Frost was frowning, trying to figure out why his partner's mood had changed so dramatically.
"Hey,Scarlet?" Cold called his beloved in a low voice, and he, startled by surprise, turned around.
"Lenny..." Bartholomew immediately muttered, pulling a fake smile to calm the man down, but that was not so easy to fool.
"What happened,Scarlet?" he came even closer and stared expectantly at the speedster, slightly raising an eyebrow.
"I..." the guy began and suddenly realized clearly that if he did not tell what was the matter, he might lose the trust of Snart-Allen, whom he treasured very much, "I suddenly thought what would have happened if you had died then, and then I just thought that..." quickly Barry rattled off. Leonard, in order to interrupt the flow of words pouring out of Flash's mouth, gently kissed him, and after a few seconds pulled away, he realized what Barry wanted to say even during his speech. Allen looked at the Cold with the eyes of a frightened fawn, but gradually love and tenderness appeared in his gaze.
"Lenny..." he breathed out, smiling broadly. His beloved smiled back and, leaning forward a little, kissed the scarlet speedster on the tip of his nose. Barry's cheeks flushed and Len laughed softly, feeling very, very, just indecently happy.
"But I'm alive," Leo said with a questioning intonation and continued when the scarlet runner nodded, "so everything is fine," he finished, hugging his husband, "don't worry,Scarlet, I won't leave you for anything," saying these words, Snart kissed his beloved on the lips and hugged him even tighter, burying his nose in his hair.
They could stand like this for a long time, just standing together, feeling their partner's breath and his strong embrace.
"Thank you," Leonard unexpectedly quietly thanked, whispering these words in Barry's ear and causing him to be covered with goosebumps.
"For what?" Flash was genuinely surprised, turning to face the man.
"For changing my life," Snart simply replied and involved Allen in a long, gentle kiss…

I love this week's prompt from the off-season winter sports fandom challenge!!
old but gold: moment interrupted 🥴
Also it's the first time in a loooong time that I've had an idea for a 5+1, so I had to write it down as fast as possible before I'd lose it again.

1.
Justin was the first to admit that he had a bit of a temper but there were few things that enraged him quite as much as the so-called “historic” races in his home country. Switzerland had tons of ski resorts that were ideal for the world cup, with entertaining tracks and enough space to host tens of thousands of people but no, every damn year they had to shlep the whole circus first into a small village at the end of a valley with only one road in or out, and then one week later on a mountain that had no road at all leading up. Everyone stood on everyone’s toes these two weeks, everyone went on everyone’s nerves, and ever so often somebody lost them entirely. Justin was reasonably sure that he might lose his today as he pushed past two members of staff from Swiss Ski, and further along through the cramped hotel towards his room. He had his hands full with his baggage and kicked against the door but Loïc was not here yet, and in the end he had to unload everything on the floor, and rifle through his pockets for the key. The hotel was quite old, the base for the Swiss Ski-team in Adelboden for many years, and still used actual keys. The room was barely wider than the hallway, and the window opened up towards a narrow alley and the neighbouring house, letting in almost no sunlight. Justin shuffled to the other side of the bed, and dropped his things again. It was not just the little space, or the crowds everywhere that irritated him but something else too. Of course, it was the middle of the season, with important races week after week, and everyone was busy. Of course he was used to it that his birthday lost against a good night’s sleep, and professional preparation year after year; and yet, this year’s birthday was supposed to be special, and Justin had to admit that he had hoped the others might see it too. But it was not. Not for them. With a sigh, Justin searched his pockets for his phone. Then his backpack. Then his suitcase. He swore, and stood up again, bracing himself for another run through the stuffed hallways. It had to be in the bus, maybe in the door, or on the back seat. He walked down, and stepped out into the busy streets of Adelboden. It was not that cold for January, and the village was free from any snow. Hordes of people walked past the hotel, making their way towards the Chuenisbärgli. Some of them recognised Justin and called out for him but with his rotten mood he managed barely more than a smile. The bus that had brought him and Loïc as well as their service men and material here stood behind the house, empty and abandoned. Justin sent a prayer to the heavens that it was unlocked, he definitely did not want to go search the whole hotel for the key, and tore the back door open. Immediately, he retracted said prayer.
“What the…?”
Loïc’s comically wide eyes stared at Justin for the fraction of a second before he shoved the person kneeling in front of him away, and pulled an indistinguishable heap of what looked to be canvas or bags over his lap. “Justin!” he yelled. “What the fuck are you doing here?”
Justin stared with gaping mouth at the scene while Zoé scrambled around, and positioned her body so that she blocked Justin’s view of Loïc. Her hair tie was almost undone, and she frantically wiped strands of her hair out of her eyes.
“Have you never heard of knocking?” she shrieked, and pulled the door out of Justin’s hand.
“I’m…” he stammered, and stumbled a few steps back as Zoé slammed the door shut.
“I’m sorry,” he yelled while hectic movements inside made the bus shake softly. Loïc’s and Zoé’s voices sounded as unintelligible murmur through the metal while they talked among themselves.
“Yeah, it…it’s fine,” Loïc eventually answered. “Just…we’ll be inside shortly, okay?”
Justin blinked, and stared at the closed door of the bus. His heart pounded in his chest, his cheeks were burning, and he knew that he would not be able to look Loïc or Zoé in the eyes in the foreseeable future. Still, he needed his phone.
“But I have to get inside!” he yelled.
“We’re kinda busy at the moment!” Zoé yelled back, her voice still an octave higher than normal.
“My phone’s in there somewhere. I need it!”
Again Loïc and Zoé talked in hushed voices, and the bus shook anew as they moved about. After a few moments, the door opened a tiny bit, and a hand holding a phone reached out. Justin had just time enough to take it before the door shut again. He hesitated.
“Thanks,” he said to the bus.
“Yeah, no problem,” Loïc said.
Justin turned around but then he stopped, shook his head, and turned back again.
“Are…are you seriously going to finish now?”
“JUSTIN!” Loïc hollered.
“Okay, okay,” Justin answered. “I was just asking.” He turned around, and this time he really walked away, back towards the hotel.
“Didn’t know you were so freaky,” he muttered to himself.
2.
He checked his phone as he walked but there were no new messages. Not even from Mauro. Justin still opened the chat, just to get a quick look at he picture he had received yesterday. He smiled to himself as he looked at Mauro’s terrible attempt at a wink, and the delicious bit of exposed chest that coincidentally also had ended up on the picture. He could not wait until they could see each other again next week. He would have liked to have him here, on his birthday tomorrow, but Justin understood how hard it was for Mauro to watch from the sideline while the rest of them raced down the snow. With a small tinge in his heart he put his phone away. It was just after lunch, and the afternoon stretched endlessly because their cardio session had been cancelled without explanation. Justin paused at the edge of the lobby, thinking about what he might do now, but already he recognised a journalist in the corner of his eyes, ready to pounce on him like a prey animal, and he hurried on towards the stairs and the upper floors that were off-limits for outsiders. He decided to pay Gino and Marco a visit in their room seeing as Loïc was still busy and would not be up for a round of Brändi Dog for quite some time. Most of the people had moved into their rooms and somewhere else now, and the hallways were almost empty again. The carpet was old and worn out in the middle where thousands of people had walked over the last decades. It was quiet save for the muffled sounds coming from one of the rooms. They broke off abruptly when Justin knocked.
“Who’s there?” Gino’s voice sounded through the wall.
“It’s me,” Justin shouted back. A frown crossed his face as the seconds stretched without an answer coming from inside.
“Ahm…just a moment…sorry, we’ve got our hands full at the moment!” This voice belonged to Marco, and Justin rolled his eyes with a smile.
“Did you close the door when you came in?” He pushed the handle down, and realised that, of course, they had forgotten again that in this hotel the doors did not lock automatically.
“No, we didn’t”, Gino piped up, “but wait!”
The last exclamation came too late, the door swung open, and Justin’s eyes were assaulted by the picture inside.
Mercifully, Gino had just had enough time to throw the blanket over Marco, leaving only his tomato-red head visible, though there was still the fact that Gino’s own hands were underneath, somewhere around Marco’s hips.
“Oh my God!” Justin groaned, and stumbled backwards.
“I told you to wait!” Gino yelled at him.
“I’m sorry!” Justin yelled back, and put his foot in the door to keep it from shutting entirely. “I thought you needed help!”
“We don’t need anything, thanks!” Marco squeaked, and Justin heard the noise from fabric moving on fabric.
Justin did not know whether he should laugh or cry. He had never considered how lucky they had been so far; two couples in the same team, and nobody had ever walked in on them. Until now.
Why did it have to be him of all people to break that streak?
Silence had fallen, and it seemed that Gino and Marco misunderstood it.
“Is he gone?” Marco whispered.
“Still here!” Justin announced from behind the half-closed door. “I take it you’ll…need some time?”
“It’s not what you think it is!” Gino yelled out in desperation, and Justin snorted.
“But yeah, we do,” Marco added. “Maybe we could later…”
“Yeah, no hurry,” Justin sighed. “Have fun!”
“It’s not what…” Gino yelled again but Justin pulled the door shut, and fled as fast as possible.
3.
Justin did not go back to his room, fearing that Loïc might have finished his endeavour in the bus with Zoé in the meantime, and he could not bear the thought to be near him at the moment. He could also not go outside though, unless he wanted to answer a stream of inane questions from bored journalists. Thus, as a last resort, he jumped into the elevator, and rode into the basement. It spread further than the surface of the building on top of it, under the parking lot and the small garden. Despite the bigger size, space was cramped too, every surface occupied by skis or boots, tools to work on either of these things, red and blue gates, several fitness machines, tables where the physical therapists tended to the muscles of the athletes and a mountain of other things they needed during a race weekend as well as the usual stuff needed to keep a hotel running that could not be shown to the guests. Justin did the obstacle course through the labyrinthine hallways. At first he intended to go his skis, checking if his service man Michael was there but he changed his plans when he heard a pair of well-known voices from another room. The workday of a coach during training days began long before dawn, when the athletes could still sleep in their beds. They had to lug the heavy equipment on the mountain, prepare the course and the time registration. After the training, while their charges could ski back to the hotel and lie down with the physical therapists, they had to collect everything, and bring it back. They had a bit of down time in the afternoon though, while Justin and the rest of the team trained cardio or strength, unless Kurti cancelled the session like today, before they had to prepare for the next day. Justin's mood rose again after the harrowing events that had happened before, and he knocked at the door before opening it.
"Hey, I didn't know you're here. Can I stay with you for a while? You have no idea wha…" He broke off, and froze. It turned into a really bad habit of his.
"Oi! Have you ever heard of knocking?" Hannes barked.
"But I…I did," Justin stammered, and tried to move his body but the terror still had him in a chokehold. His eyes saw the scene in the room but his brain could not comprehend it yet.
Renzo shifted on his knees, and his head poked out from behind Hannes' legs. "Yeah, and you barged in before waiting our answer! Did your mother teach you no manners?"
"I…I didn't know," Justin stuttered weakly. "You never said anything…I thought you were…"
He blinked, and finally regained control over his body. Hannes and Renzo stayed glued in their position and glared at him accusingly. Justin counted it as a small blessing that he had not arrived thirty seconds later because Hannes had his pants still pulled up all the way at least. He could not even imagine the trauma should he have…
No! He could not finish the thought.
"Of course we didn't!" Hannes said. "That's the point, isn't it?"
"The…the point?"
"Of keeping it hidden, duh," Renzo answered.
Justin blinked again, then he shook his head. "But…you wouldn't have to hide it. You know we don't blab. Or have you ever heard anything about Gino and Marco outside of our team?"
Renzo's eyes grew to the size of saucers. "Wait no, it's not…"
He could not finish the sentence though because Hannes boxed him in the shoulder. Renzo glared up at him, and they had a silent exchange of looks before Hannes turned his head again to face Justin.
"It's not been that long," he explained coolly. "We didn't feel ready yet to tell you guys."
"Oh…"
They all looked at each other for a few seconds before Justin finally got a hold of himself. He knew how it would play out anyway.
"Well, I better go then…"
He did not hear what Hannes and Renzo said as he closed the door, and numbly stumbled towards the elevator.
4.
Justin blindly stared at the door of the elevator while the cabin jerked upwards, unable to grasp one of the thoughts whirring through his brain. This day had taken horrendous turn after horrendous turn, all he wanted to do was go back to his room, and hide until it was over. He did not even care if Loïc would be there. He had seen horrors beyond comprehension today, things could not possible get any worse. The door opened, Justin stepped out, and only then did he realise that he must have pushed the wrong button. He was on the third floor now, where there was only one vast conference room. The big, double winged door was just opposite of the elevators, and as it was wide open, Justin had the perfect view into the room, and at the giant square of tables where two men sat forlorn around a laptop and a flipchart.
Or, kind of sat.
Calmly, for what good was there to freak out, Justin raised his hand, and pressed the button for the second floor.
"Justin…?" Kurti asked, and crawled out from under the table.
"I don't want to know it!" he yelled, though it had the distinct tone of a sob, and pressed the button harder. "I really! Don't! Want! To! Know! It!"
"But Justin…" Krugi tried from his chair. It was the last thing Justin heard or saw.
Luckily.
5.
Loïc was away, probably still occupying the bus with Zoé, and Justin had the room to himself. He walked over to his bed, and fell face-down into the pillow. He stayed like that for who knows how long, until eventually he started to laugh. He laughed until he could not breathe anymore, and had to turn on his back. Tears were streaming down his temples and into the pillow, his stomach ached from the strain and still he could not stop laughing. When he could somewhat breathe again, he pulled his phone out of his pocket, and dialled a number. The first thing Justin heard through the phone was someone in the background grunting, and then something heavy being pushed over a surface.
"Hey, Honeybear…" Daniel began, sounding concerningly out of breath and stressed out, but Justin did not let him finish.
"If you tell me it's not a good time, so help me God, Daniel, I will jump out of the next gondola!"
Someone yelped in the background, and then the sound of movement wafted through the phone.
"What's going on?" Daniel asked, and seemed to stop.
"Oh, Poulette", Justin sighed, "Can we go for dinner tonight? I don't care if I have to come to La Fouly, I just need to get away from here."
"But I thought you wanted to celebrate your birthday with the team," Daniel threw in. "You know, because tomorrow's going to be so stressful."
"My birthday is cancelled," Justin said.
"What?" Daniel yelled. "No!"
Justin frowned into the air. "What?"
"I mean…" Daniel stammered, "why?
Justin chuckled. "It's a long story. You better sit down, because…" He broke off as the groaning he had heard in the beginning picked up again, and this time, Justin recognised who it was. He sat up.
"Is that Ramon?"
"Ahm…" Daniel said. "Yes! Actually, we're having a training session. He's…he's stretching."
In the background, Ramon's groans petered out in a shriek. "Jesus, Mary and Joseph. I didn't know it's that big!"
"I…I thought you are at home," Justin said.
"I am!" Daniel exclaimed. "I mean, we are. We're practising at home. It was…spontaneous."
"I don't think I can do this…" Ramon whined in the background. Daniel swore, and then his voice disappeared from the phone. Something heavy moved, and fell to the ground with a dull thud.
"Much better," Ramon sighed contentedly, and Justin swallowed around the rising nausea.
"I told you, you just have to let it go!" Daniel hissed, and then the phone moved again, and soon after his voice sounded loud and clear through the speaker again. "Hey, are you still here?"
Justin needed a moment until he could speak. "Yeah, I'm…what was that?"
"The…that was…" Daniel stammered. "The…stretching. We're almost done!"
Justin wanted to laugh but he bit it back. Daniel was such a bad liar.
"Poulette…" he sighed, and rubbed his eyes.
"What? I told you, we're at home because…"
"It's okay, really!" Justin interrupted him. "You should have told me…; you shouldn't have picked up the phone."
"It's okay, I'll always have time for you."
"I know, but you don't have to," Justin sighed. He smiled to himself, hoping it would reach through the phone. "I'm happy for you. Now go back to your training session, you silly love birds."
"What?" Daniel exclaimed. "Justin, you…"
Justin ended the call, and fell back into the pillow.
+1
He stared at the ceiling for a long time. In his head he was going back all the years he and Daniel had spent together in the slalom-team. He had never had the impression that he had a crush on Ramon; things must have changed a lot since he switched to giant slalom. But then again, Justin had never told Daniel about the real depth of his friendship with Mauro either, so he was in no place to feel miffed.
As if he could read his mind, Justin's phone rang in that moment. All the unfortunate incidents he had suffered this afternoon were lifted from his shoulders when he saw the name, and he could not hold back the smile washing over his face.
"Hi," he said, and the butterflies in his stomach fluttered up a storm when Mauro's deep chuckle hit his ear.
"That was fast," he said. "Hello."
"I just couldn't wait to hear from you."
The butterflies threatened to burst out of Justin when the chuckle grew to a laugh. "That's good to hear. And, how's it going in Adelboden?"
Justin sighed. "God, don't ask, please. I can't wait for this whole weekend to be over."
"What?" Mauro asked. "But it's your birthday tomorrow! You have to be happy."
"Not after everything that's happened today," Justin groaned. "My birthday's cancelled. We'll try again next year."
"No!" Mauro exclaimed. "I cannot accept that. What happened?"
Justin laughed, and rubbed his eyes. "What happened was…I don't even know where to begin."
"That bad?" Mauro asked. "Well, maybe I can cheer you up."
Justin perked up. "I'm sure you can," he smiled. "Any particular idea?"
"You know how I told you that I couldn't come to the race because…you know?"
Justin nodded. "It hurts too much," he finished the sentence
"Well," Mauro said, "I realised it hurts more to be away from you, especially on your birthday. So…"
"No way!" Justin yelled into the phone, and Mauro laughed again.
"Maybe you could join me in that little café behind the church?"
Justin jumped up from the bed, and ran out of the room. "Give me ten minutes!"
In the end, thanks to a rental bike from the hotel that helped Justin through the steep roads of Adelboden, it took fifteen minutes. Mauro sat at a table in the corner of the little café, and he stood up when Justin burst through the door. They hugged, nothing more, but Justin never wanted to let him go again.
"I missed you so much," Mauro whispered in his ear.
They ordered coffee, Mauro sitting in the corner, and Justin on the other side, with his back to the door. He could not resist, and tenderly stroked Mauro's hand with his finger.
Mauro smiled. "Can you tell me now what happened?"
Justin rolled his eyes, and kept his hand on top of Mauro's. It felt warm, like home. "I just…was the third wheel all afternoon," he began. "And not in a good way."
"Poor you," Mauro cooed. "Was everyone busy?"
Justin snorted. "Yeah, busy is just the right word."
Their coffee arrived, and reluctantly, Justin had to let go of Mauro. They stirred their coffees, and waited until the server had returned to the front of the café. Justin looked at Mauro, taking in the deep shadows under his clear blue eyes.
"How are you feeling?" he asked.
They talked for a long time about Mauro's rehab, the therapy Justin had suggested and its progress. Their coffees got cold, and when Mauro proposed to leave, Justin realised that night had fallen outside of the café.
"We should go for dinner," he said as they stepped out into the growing cold. "Maybe in Frutigen somewhere? I think everything's booked around here."
Mauro hesitated before he answered. "I'd rather go to the hotel, to be honest."
Justin frowned. "The hotel? Why?"
Mauro bit on his lip, and slowly walked towards his car. "Well, you see…" He opened the car, and looked out towards the church.
"Yes?" Justin asked.
Finally, Mauro turned around to face him. "Well, you see, Loïc and Zoé are out, right?"
Justin had no idea where Mauro was going with that. "I guess, yeah. And?"
Even though the village was swarmed with people who had come for the race, Mauro stepped close to Justin, and cupped his chin with his hand. "That means we could have your room to ourselves for a few hours," he breathed, and Justin feared his knees might buckle. "…if you know what I mean."
Justin grinned, his eyes fully focused on Mauro's tantalising lips. He wanted to kiss him so bad, and barely managed to keep himself in check. "I know what you mean," he whispered.
The parking lot was almost full when they returned but the lobby surprisingly empty, and save for some hotel staff, nobody saw them sneak into the building.
"What floor?" Mauro asked when the stepped into the elevator, and put his hand over the buttons.
"Second," Justin answered, his focus fully turned on the door. At glacial speed it closed, inch for inch, and when the cabin lurched, he could not hold back any longer.
"Justin, I…" Mauro said, and nothing more since Justin pulled him over by the lapels of his jacket for a passionate kiss.
"I need you so bad!" Justin growled in Mauro's mouth, his teeth scraping over the delicious stubble around Mauro's chin before returning for another kiss. His hands worked on their own, one opening the zipper of Mauro's jacket, the other feeling its way around Mauro's hardening bulge under his jeans.
"No, Justin…" Mauro tried, and attempted to push him away.
"I've had to wait so long," Justin said between breathless kisses. "I won't let go of you until we're done!"
"But…"
He did not know what Mauro wanted to say because in that moment, several things happened all at once. First, the doors of the elevator opened; Justin could have sworn at twice the speed they had closed. Second, he realised that Mauro had pushed the wrong button and third, they were not alone. A giant group of people stood in front of the elevator, and their cheers and shouts filled the entire third floor, even when the ones standing at the very front broke off abruptly.
"SURPRISE!"
Epilogues:
Loïc and Zoé:
"Come on, it is kinda funny."
Loïc glared at his girlfriend who broke down in giggles again.
"It is not!" Loïc exclaimed. "Justin thinks we hooked up! In the bus!"
"But at least he didn't see the banner, that's all that counts."
Loïc mumbled something under his breath, and folded the long canvas over once more. From the outside, it looked to be nothing more than a simple blanket, with the cords to attach it to the wall stuffed between the folds. It had taken great pains to thread them through the small holes but finally, the task was done. Loïc stood up, and held his hand out to open the back door of the bus, when Zoé stepped in his path.
"You know," she smiled, and slowly sank to her knees. "Justin's not going to come back, and we've still got some time until we have to go meet the others…"
Loïc's mouth went slack, and without resistance he plopped back down on the back seat.
"Zoé…" he muttered, and Zoé innocently smiled up at him as she opened the button of his trousers. "God, I…" He could not say more because in that moment he jumped up with a loud shriek, and hit his head on the roof of the car. Zoé tumbled on her backside, and with a shocked expression looked up at her boyfriend.
"Fuck!" Loïc swore, and cupped his groin and his head with one hand each. "Jesus, no!"
"What happened?" Zoé asked. "What's going on?"
"What's going on?" Loïc exclaimed, and stared at her with wide eyes. "Your hands are icicles!"
Zoé's brows furrowed. "Seriously?" she deadpanned. "It's January in the Alps. What were you expecting?"
"Not a freezer burn on my dick, that's for sure!" Loïc whined, and sank down on the seat again. "Ouch, my head."
Zoé watched without pity how Loïc rubbed his head some more. Eventually, she sighed. "This is not going to happen, is it?"
Marco and Gino:
"Justin's coming into the room, and your first idea is to jump on it?" Gino stared at Marco with a dumbfounded look.
"I wasn't jumping on it!" Marco insisted, and swore as he scraped the sticky mess from his sweater. "I just wanted to shield it! And good that I did, seeing as your glorious idea was to throw the whole blanket on top of it!"
"Just to cover it!" Gino exclaimed. "I held my hands above. Nothing would have touched it!"
"Yeah, right," Marco scoffed. "My blanket is ruined! I'll have to get a new one from the reception, and what am I going to tell them? I accidentally dropped cake on it?"
Gino shrugged, and wiped over the stains on the blanket with another tissue. "Why not? It's the truth, after all."
Together they inspected the cake resting on the small table under the television. One of the edges had lost the cream covering. Gino turned it around, and looked at it from the other side.
"I think if we put it like that…"
Marco nodded. "Could have been worse. Also, we're going to eat it anyway. So…"
Gino smiled at him. "You're right."
Marco smiled back, and covered the space between. "You know, Justin for sure won't return now that he thinks we're doing it."
Gino leant in for a kiss, and pulled Marco in a hug. "You're so right," he muttered, and let himself be guided towards the bed. "No better time than…ewww…"
"What?" Marco scrambled aside as Gino rolled out from under him, and fell to the floor.
"There's another stain!" Gino squealed, and felt the back of his head. "I laid right into it…this is so disgusting!"
"It's just cake," Marco tried. "Can't we…?"
"No!" Gino waved him off, and turned towards the bathroom. "I'm sorry, not today. I need a shower."
Renzo and Hannes:
Renzo glared at Hannes. "The first thing we'll do after we all yelled 'surprise' is set the whole thing straight!"
"In every sense of the word," Hannes grinned, and waggled his eyebrows.
Renzo snorted, and pulled the last crate of Justin's favourite wine from under the heap of gates that they had used as cover. Hannes grabbed it, and put it on the trolley with the rest of the beverages.
"I'm serious," Renzo said, and stood up from the floor. "That's how rumours start, and I sure as hell don't want that particular one to circulate."
"Why not?" Hannes asked. "Think about it: Every year we tell the guys that during the week our break extends from one to four p.m. because we start at the ass-crack of dawn, and every year, day after day, they come whinging about some stupid problem that they could solve on their own if they just tried. Now, if they all thought we'd use that time to do…you know…we could actually have our peace."
Renzo pursed his lips. "Hmm…"
Hannes' grin was exceedingly smug. "Exactly." They pushed the trolley out into the hallway, and Renzo closed the door behind them. They were halfway towards the elevator, when he paused.
"Wait, no!" he yelled, and boxed Hannes in the arm. "Fuck no! We're not going to let them believe I'm sucking your knob just because you want to laze around!"
Hannes laughed, and rubbed the spot where Renzo's fist had hit him. "Come on! And what if I tell them we do more than that?"
The elevator arrived, and Renzo glared at Hannes as he pushed the trolley inside.
"I'll have you know I'm a very tender lover," Hannes added, and winked at him.
Renzo turned on his heel. "I'm taking the stairs."
Kurti and Krugi:
"What is with that boy again?" Krugi shook his head, and stared at the closed door of the elevator.
Kurti put the pen he had retrieved back on the table, and pulled himself up again. "I wished I knew," he answered, and wiped the dust off his pants. "Come on, let's hurry with the revision of the plan. They want to decorate the room for the surprise party."
Daniel and Ramon:
"Couldn't you have brought a picture of it? Now we have to carry it back on Sunday evening, and for what? Just some dumb party?"
"It's not a dumb party!" Daniel barked, and Ramon rolled his eyes. "It's Justin's 30th birthday. Of course I have to bring the gift along!"
"Well, next time you take a call, maybe wait until you've put the thing in your hands down," he muttered. "Especially when it's so bloody heavy and I have to carry the other half."
"I said my side was okay, and you could just let go," Daniel repeated, and checked whether the sturdy wooden bench rested safely on the small cart. With his hand he wiped over the inscription with the congratulations for Justin's birthday. It would make a good look in his garden, Daniel knew, and he smiled.
"Okay, and how do we get it inside now?" Ramon asked, and eyed the stairs towards the entrance of the hotel with distrust.
Daniel pointed towards the parking lot in the back of the hotel, and started to push the cart. "We have to get in through the basement, and take the elevator from there."
Ramon sighed, and joined Daniel in pushing.
"By the way, what happened?"
Daniel frowned. "What are you talking about?"
"You ended the call kinda panicked. Did something happen?"
Daniel shrugged. "Nah, it's okay. Just a misunderstanding."

Hey! Hi! Howdy! Hello! I’m Azzy and I’m super glad to be bringing my baby boy Adam here! He can be a bit of a prick sometimes but he means well.
Tumblr media
excuse me did you see AVAN JOGIA hanging around palmwood studios? oh no, that was ADAM AHMED, the TWENTY-FOUR year old actor who plays DANIEL HOLDEN on WOLF PUBERTY. yeah, you know rumour has it he's - MOODY, and - IMPULSIVE, but his fans all say he’s + CREATIVE, and + EASY-GOING. around palmwood studios he known as THE ATONER. ( cismale, he/him)
STORY SO FAR
dam’s upbringing was pretty normal to be completely honest. His parents were divorced but it wasn’t too messy. He had friends, he did okay in school, he liked playing video games; all in all, just a normal guy.
Adam and his best friends had started a band back in middle school. At first it wasn’t anything serious. It was just a couple of friends goofing off and trying to look cool for the ladies.
Come senior year of high school, the mindset for the band had completely changed. They’d been ‘discovered’ and there was no going back from that. Just before his eighteenth birthday, the band released their first album and it took the music world by storm.
Being influenced by classic punk bands like the Ramones and The Clash, it seemed like a breath of fresh air in the music industry and very quickly they adapted to the rockstar life which meant a lot of drugs, a lot of sex and a lot of partying.
Unfortunately, as they got bigger, they started becoming more unruly. They were drunk or hungover 24/7, the parties didn’t stop and life on the road eventually became too much.
DRUG USE TW. DEATH TW. After releasing two albums, their lead singer passed away from a heroine overdose and the band fell apart. Adam got arrested for getting involved in a drunken bar fight and the scandals continued to follow the band until they called it quits.
Afterwards Adam kept a pretty low profile. He decided at one point that he wasn’t really suited for fame and tried to be a ‘normal person’ but eventually he found that he had gotten too used to celebrity life to really go back to go back to normal living
After a prolonged absence in the public eye, Adam came back- this time as an actor. He had a few small parts in a few network tv shows and he found that he quite liked it. He also discovered that he wasn’t awful at it either.
Music was always his first passion but at the moment, he finds acting to be a nice distraction. He doesn’t have much of an ambition to become a huge A list actor but he’s enjoying himself for now
He’s also working on his own solo music but he’s really insecure about sharing it with anyone. He also feels like he’s been away from making music for so long, he doesn’t really want to get back into it and fail.
All in all, he’s still trying to figure himself out and get passed his awful public perception
CONNECTIONS
His band - These are Adam’s best friends in the world. They grew up together, went to school together, played together, cried together. Other than his parents, they’re the most important people in the world to him.
His dead band member’s girlfriend - basically, after the lead singer of his band passed away, Adam and his girlfriend leaned on each other to grieve- leading them to find physical comfort in each other. Adam feels awful about this. He feels like he betrayed one of his best friends by hooking up with their girl after they died - basically looking for some angsty goodness here
Celebrity FWB - someone Adam’s been connected to in the tabloids. They always deny having anything other than a platonic relationship but obviously there’s more there. They could genuinely just be friends who hook up or there could be unspoken feelings making things tense- honestly there’s room for a lot with either or both ideas
There’s probably more I’m forgetting but please plot with me and we can figure something dope out together!!

ABS-CBN on Twitter @ABSCBNNews:
San Miguel President Ramon Ang says he will not push through with the Pasig River Expressway (PAREX).
"If the public thinks that it is not good to the public welfare, hindi namin gagawin 'yun."
AltMobility PH urges DOTr and Toll Regulatory Board to withdraw the Supplemental Toll Operation Agreement (STOA) on PAREX and for San Miguel to withdraw the ECC application.

While the intention of this development is good, we need to understand that it will never cut travel times and relieve congestion along the roads. It has been proven in mega cities all over the world that building urban expressways leads to increased vehicle use, congestion, pollution, and climate change. Building new expressways encourages people to buy and use vehicles, increasing traffic congestion on our highways. Moreover, according to urban planner Paulo G. Alcazaren, the PAREX would not genuinely relieve congestion in Metro Manila unless efforts are refocused on improving public transportation, based on the idea of induced demand, which asserts that more roads lead to more traffic. The construction of PAREX is another example of urban planning favoring people who can drive their own cars over commuters who use public transportation. The short-term benefits that these drivers would experience pales in comparison to the slew of negative consequences of this project.
PAREX is going to be a polluting road system. Increased vehicle volume on the planned highway is likely to result in higher concentrations of air, noise, vibration, and light pollution, posing a risk to human health and the environment.
In addition to the negative effects on the river ecosystem, the PAREX would also have negative health effects on the people living nearby. According to Agham, “The Pasig River Expressway is a 19.37-kilometer death sentence that would put an end to all chance of an improved Pasig River environment.” [...]

Prompt: Where is music in nature? Where is nature in music?
To me, music and nature are one and the same. In my eyes, you can't have one without the other. Music is a part of our DNA, songs from centuries ago still have the magnetic pull capable of emotions that would be too difficult to speak. It enables us to relate life experiences to each other, to make us feel like we're not alone as we go through life. I think the same things can be said about music in nature. The enchanting whale song, the courtship song of two love birds, the sound of cicadas whining in the simmering summer heat. All of these sounds stir something within us, this music seems almost human. How amazing is it, to witness these proclamations of love, friendship, and sorrow? Being able to hear these things is to be privy to a secret language that we could only dream to fully understand. I am in awe that music transcends species and that these animals are complex enough to convey certain emotions.
Recently I was looking through my Reddit feed and came across a post that actually caused me to stop and read it. It was 6 in the morning, I had just woken up from sleep and couldn't go back to bed. This post was about the now-extinct kauai o'o' bird. The Redditor had linked a video to the post and explained that this was the song of the last kauai o'o', singing to a female that will never respond and will never come. The song was incredibly haunting, I was dumbfounded upon hearing it for the first time. How cruel was it that we as humans, caused the demise of this species? Last week when we talked about preserving history, this is an example of just that. I am so lucky that this bird is still alive in people's memories and that its voice hasn't been lost to time. I've linked the video below, please take a look at it if you have the chance:
youtube
Moving onto the follow-up to the prompt, I have certain songs that I associate with different times in my life. Last summer, my dad and I took a road trip down to Cape Cod. We had created a playlist of mostly his songs (surf rock, 80s alternative, the Ramones) and some songs that I like. As we were driving down there we were talking about our cats, as we often do. In particular, we were talking about Sassy:
Tumblr media
And how she tends to do this purr-meow when she wants something. This conversation reminded my dad of a song where the lead singer makes a similar sound. It was The Middle of the Road by the Pretenders and that song became the anthem for our time in Cape Cod. It has sort of a summery and carefree feel to it, mixed with bittersweet nostalgia for memories I've never had. I've linked it below if you're interested:
youtube
It's so interesting how we associate certain songs with certain periods of our life. Even if I can't physically go back into a memory, I still have a piece of it, to keep in my pocket, always there if I want to listen.

CLAYTON CARDENAS. HE/HIM / have you ever heard of I WANNA BE SEDATED by ramones, well, it describes MATIAS ARAYA to a tee! the thirty-seven year old, and OWNER OF RIGHT ROUND RECORDS + FORMER LEAD SINGER OF OVERDRIVE FIVE was spotted browsing through the stalls at portobello road market last sunday, do you know them? would you say HE is more overprotective or more STRONG-WILLED instead? anyway, they remind me of the first strums of a guitar playing a song about heartbreak, a body littered with tattoos, trying to forget old memories & thrashed denim jeans and t-shirts, maybe you’ll bump into them soon!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀𝚃𝚁𝙸𝙶𝙶𝙴𝚁 𝚆𝙰𝚁𝙽𝙸𝙽𝙶 : cancer, divorce, death, substance abuse, sobriety
 ⸻  𝐁𝐈𝐎𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐇𝐘
Matias Araya was once an unknown, born and raised in Notting Hill. And to think, with his name living in rock infamy -- one might think he had lived within the industry his entire life.
Music was always a huge part of his life, the patriarch of his family being the original founder of Right Round Records, which he would later inherit. He often helped out around the shop when he was young, and never saw himself continuing the family business.
He was always a rambunctious kid, the eldest of three. He was never the greatest influence on them as the oldest child is told they should be, often joining them in their antics and developing the same "bad boy" reputation.
It wasn't until he reached high school that he met the members of his band. They could not have been more different, but were bonded by their mutual love of music. And so, they practiced day in and day out and became as close as brothers could be. Singing his heart out became everything to him.
It was never the dream to get noticed -- mainly because none of them ever believed that it would ever really happen. Even still, this ragtag band of kids from England moved to Los Angeles with little to their name.
The discovery of Overdrive Five was surprisingly just like the movies -- a talent scout having watched them play at one of their pub gigs. Little did they know, they would go from living paycheck to paycheck to being one of the biggest bands in the world.
After the release of their first album, the five were living the high life. They were touring, meeting people ( executives, women, the like ) and had the entire world accessible at their fingertips. However, Matias went down a bit of a darker path than the rest of them.
He didn't know how bad his substance abuse was getting. He just thought he could party hard. However, everything changed when he met and married Melina Oliviera, model, in a quick Vegas wedding.
They were endlessly bad for each other. Her addiction was just as bad as his was, if not worse. Both of them continued to spiral together, until an explosive night led to Matias needing to go to the hospital. And the first thing he noticed -- she didn't do anything to help him. She just kept the party going. He served her with divorce papers two days later and began his efforts to getting clean.
He feared returning to the stage -- wondering what people would think of him. But his band cheered him on and has continued to, even after their split.
Things finally came to an end for the band when Matias expressed that he wanted a life outside of touring, but they learned something else. Their bassist, Connor West, was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
They spent all the time they could at Connor's side, and things started to look up for a while. However, their friend's health suddenly declined before he eventually passed away.
Following his death, the band recorded and released an album of songs Connor had written -- as well as a couple they had written in his honor. That was five years ago, and Matias has no intention of returning to the stage. Not without Connor.
His fathers passing a year ago caused him to inherit Right Round, which he credits to giving him the last piece of the puzzle and the stability he needed.
Meeting Blue, his current partner, was one of the best moments of his life. He adores them completely -- and the otherwise very gruff rocker shows a different side to them and them only.
⸻  𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐍𝐒
He's been sober for five years, and hasn't wavered since. He continues on his program and is extremely proud of himself for all the work that he has done.
Even if he's left his performance days behind him, he still dresses like he could walk right out on stage. Thrashed jeans, t-shirts, flannels, combat boots, occasional eyeliner, the whole nine yards.
Does come off a bit tougher than some can handle rather naturally. However, when he cares about people he cares about them deeply -- and he does allow it to show.
more to come.

Click: http://www.thenewbardots.com About The Single - This fast-paced Ramone esk remake is a get-up and shake-it version of the classic Jackie Deshannon’s “Put A Little Love In Your Heart”.
“With everything that’s going on in the world today and all the hate in the world and on both sides of the political isle we thought this song was a perfect catalyst to not only send a message of “LOVE” but just an overall fun, rip roaring rock and roll version to forget all your troubles and bounce to!” - Wayne O (Lead Singer The NEW Bardots)
Some History of The Song "Put a Little Love in Your Heart" is a song originally performed in 1968 and released in 1969 by Jackie DeShannon, who composed it with her brother, Randy Myers, and Jimmy Holiday. Make a Movie! This is not mine, I just found it and decided to tag myself because nobody did it yet lol. I couldn't find the original post tho, so if you have a link please let me know and I will add it here. The last celebrity picture you have saved is your love interest:
Tumblr media
A day spent in the Vince Neil tag must have its consequences. Oh well, I already know this is gonna end badly.
The last meme you saved is how the relationship will turn out:
Tumblr media
Asfjghkfhg someone help me/us
The last song you listened to is the name of the movie:
Mötley Crüe - You’re All I Need
See??? I fucking told you so. He’s gonna fucking murder me in cold blood and deliver the infamous "I thought you were napping" line.
The second last celebrity picture you have saved is your best friend:
Tumblr media
Nikki Sixx died twice, like hell I’ll listen to his advice. He’s probably plotting with Vince to have me killed so that they can get together.
The third last celebrity picture you have saved is also your friend:
Tumblr media
Joe Keery!!! My boy. I would trust him with my life. The fourth last celebrity picture you have is the antagonist:
Tumblr media
Joan Jett. I'm so dead.
Soundtrack: put your playlist on shuffle three times and list the songs in this order. If the song which is the title of the movie appears, highlight it.
opening titles: Heilung - Krigsgaldr
A freaking war chant. Forget Vince and Axl, me and Vince are gonna go all out.
romantic scene: The Rolling Stones - Paint it, Black
Vince is clearly thinking about my funeral during our romantic scene.
action sequence: The Handsome Family - Far from Any Road
Ahh, True Detective style! I'm hooked. My movie will be bad, but at least the aesthetics will be on point.
sad/emotional scene: Placebo - Nancy Boy
I don't even... Maybe it's emotional for Vince because someone called him a lady again. Is Steven Tyler in this movie too?
badass walk scene: Guns N' Roses - Don't Cry
This is clearly my walk since Vince would never admit to listening to this song. (I'm trying to establish a genre for this movie and I'm failing miserably. Is this a thriller? Are we detectives? Rival assassins? Idk.)
montage scene: Dorothy - Missile
Good.
falling in love scene: Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway
HAHAAHHAHAHAHAAH
protagonist theme: Ruelle - Take it all
Good.
romantic lead theme: Sam Tinnesz - Far From Home
I don't even know anymore.
antagonist theme: Ramones - Poison Heart
Of course my enemy gets the coolest song.
best friend theme: Def Leppard - Love Bites
You bite too, Nikki.
best friend #2 theme: PJ Harvey - Long Snake Moan
Way to go, Joe. You rock.
party scene: SQÜRL, Madeline Follin - Funnel of Love
OMG, are we vampires?
death scene: Gil Scott-Heron - Me and the Devil
My dudes, this is how I go.
big kiss scene: Queens of the Stone Age - Burn the Witch
We make a very romantic couple. Also I’m a very proud witch.
big action sequence: Labrinth - Formula
Euphoria, fuck yeah! I already know it's gonna be epic.
group scene: Mötley Crüe - Home Sweet Home
Yeah, yeah, they murder me and then have a gangbang.
credits: Dorothy - Raise Hell
You guys, I'm coming back from the dead. There's going to be a sequel! tagging:
@comebackjessica (no, Tom Hardy can't play everyone)
@livingbreathingrocknroll @nikkisqueenofsleaze @rocknrollsoul76 @daughter-of-aphrodite @bitterrrpilll
