I don't feel like q!bad gets enough praise for being such a good dad.

Like, he's encouraging of Dapper's special interests even if they're dangerous and often end up with him at least slightly hurt. He's incredibly respectful of Dapper's independence while also being a caring and attentive father. If they're going to be out and about together, he almost always takes Dapper's input on where they go and what they do.

He knows Dapper is talented player, who knows more than he does sometimes, while still recognizing when Dapper forgets his own limits. He's still a kid, and a fragile one. But that doesn't mean putting him away in a box, like Phil has done with Chayanne. That means finding ways to be safe, having extra backup plans, extra people you trust by your side. They're on together almost every night, even past or before streaming times.

Bad is the egg babysitter, he goes out of his way to do things for them because he genuinely is such a compassionate person. He's also dedicated to solving the lore, to pranking his friends, to building Skeppy statues, and everything else.

Dapper is the mechanic, a collector who isn't ashamed to help others and leave them a gift or a silly prank along the way. He's a kid, who fights with his dad and keeps a journal of how all his machines work, just in case.

A lot of times, when people want to thank Bad for his help, they wonder, "what do you give someone who has everything?" And truth be told I have no idea what I'd do. It never feels like Bad has everything, but rather, it feels like he has everything he really wants. Bad has Dapper, and together, they're able to accomplish almost anything. That's what I think makes them so compelling.

I occasionally scroll through Twitter and see people talking about how they want the egg event to end. I can respect that to a degree, I think it's ended up with some streamers quite stressed, tired, or receiving harassment. However, I feel like Bad and Dapper are the perfect example of why you can't just tear the eggs from their parents - Dapper is as much a character as Bad is. They're a duo, they compliment one another in their skills, their personalities, ect.

It's Bad and Dapper against the world.

And I really hope they find a way to allow them to stay that way.

I didn't realize just how much Little Town on the Prairie meant to me as a book. I've barely started and every bit feels iconic. This one and Little House on the Prairie feel more like home than most of the other books do.

#little house #little town on the prairie #little house on the prairie #laura ingalls wilder #of course those two also just have to be the most problematic #we'll just move along past the blackface folks #nothing to see here #i'm trying to parse out why i feel such a strong connection to these two in particular #maybe it's because there's a heavy focus on farming and carpentry and small town country life and that's the background i come from #i know that this one already has the best sisterly content #i had a post brewing about how odd it is that of all the classic 'woman writing stories heavily based on her childhood' books #this series has by far the least focus on sisterly bonds #this subject will probably be its own post by the end of the book #i have been loving the greater laura-carrie connection i've never noticed before in the past two books #though i wasn't sure if it was really there or if i just paying more attention after going to the carrie museum #but this book is really giving us laura-mary friendship at last #which is great cuz in the early books she barely talks except to fight with laura #so it'll be nice to see that develop #not to mention we still have the iconic desk scene #(if this book gives mary her due it does continue the anti-older-sister crusade with its portrayal of eliza jane)#anyhow i should stop writing tags now have a good day

I love manual labor I love uprooting trees and hauling hay and shoveling crap and painting fences!!!!!! I mean this completely unironically I know I'm like a scrawny internet wizard man but I love doing farmwork so much!!!!!

#i would literally love to go back to doing this full time if i was able to‚ by far my favorite job!!!#just can't physically manage it full time right now #at least i still get to do farmwork every once in a while even if it causes my disabilities to flare up lmao #someday I'd like to live on a small farm if my gf also wants to. i love everything about farm life and I've got the experience to do it too!#it's just a matter of if i can ever get my disability to a manageable enough point that i can keep up with all the work again lol

natsume is releasing a new harvest moon game that looks semi-decent... but I can't bring myself to support them at all. they're using the harvest moon name to trick people into buying because there are still a lot of people who don't realise story of seasons is the original harvest moon (natsume is the publisher, not developer. since then natsume split from marvelous but kept the name) sure the game looks a lot better than the lost valley (natsumes first harvest moon solo release) which I played for about 10 mins and couldn't bear to play any more of it </3 but it doesn't mean it will be any good.

farming sims are HUGE now. there are new ones being released every month it feels like, and I love that for me, but sometimes they really miss the mark. I personally prefer small maps for example, I prefer games focusing on the farming (not to say I don't like larger maps or anything but it can be a lot to manage, especially time-wise) I keep trying to enjoy coral island but it's HUGE and not entirely easy to navigate at first so it keeps putting me off 😭 it's really good in itself but I need more time with it me thinks

#also ci is Clunky to me.#i am waiting for further development on it. because i know i will love it!#i have been playing sun haven and i am IN love with it btw #it's kinda Big sure but you can adjust the length of the day and !! it's got fantasy aspects which i love #also its not grindy at all ... like it flows nicely and theres no stamina bar to worry about #i actually find myself doing a LOT with my day and working until it hits 11pm in the game #whereas some farming games the day drags or theres not enough to do and i end up sleeping early just to pass time #so i would highly recommend sun haven !!!#oh i also am playing harvestella but a little More slowly !! that's been fun so far <3 a bit slow to start but yes :3 #kye.txt

really want to read more and more literature (esp classics!) aghhhh yesterday iirc i was on a walk with my mom and twin and an old guy (not a weirdo dw) who was jogging or walking too actually asked what book i was carrying and it's a little funny bcs uhm he just went "oh a classic!" you see. i was carrying dante's inferno. which i still haven't properly started to read but anyways he might... if my mom is right... be the local parish guy so oopsies !! LMAO anyways yeah really interested in lovecraft for a while now! horror scares me and gives me paranoia but i also enjoy the writing of it? and i remember once that something/someone said my writing is kinda similar to his. hm.

i was talking to my coworker and we were joking about how much the school farm sucked and i was like yeah lol sometimes i'd be drivign and think like lol what if i just crashed my car right now.... anyway someone tell me if that was too much for my very normal coworker. she thought it was funny though

#its nice commiserating about that place. i have like tons of trauma from there #and i can be like yeah i used to cry for 15 minutes before every shift and she goes lmaooo same #i am once again remembering the time i was standing in west wing sobbing full on contemplating drinking the bleach.#i remember looking at that bucket of sanitizer water and doing the whole ok whos going to find my body? whos going to take care of al?#i remember getting texted asking to pick up someones shift when i wasnt even in SD yet. i was literally a 15 hour drive away #i remember being told i was picking up someones shift and me being like no im literally busy??? and then getting yelled at for it.#i remember getting fucking stomped on and NO ONE EVEN ASKED IF I WAS OKAY !!!!!!! crying and my arm dangling limply at my side!!!!!!!!#i remember THROWING UP AT WORK!!!!
