ok I'm going to be really abnormal for a hot minute here but its not my fault I was reminded that Mystic Messenger exists so, fun silly AU under the cut.

Ok so I'm giggling over the concept of a DSMP AU Mystic Messenger style. You're a recent minecraft player who has come to the DSMP, (or maybe you can select a character like Technoblade, shhh this is a crack concept) and you're in a chat group with the other characters involved in The Plan, like Punz and Ranboo (full memories) as someone who is on Dream's Side and is working for Dream

Listen To Me. Listen. Dating Sim the hell out of Dream. It would be so stupid. Listen to me.

you have to respond to text messages at various hours of the day over the course of 14 days, making choices that will decide how the story will go, and how your relationship with Dream will develop. You can encourage or discourage events of exile, the building of the prison, you can side with Dream in arguments in the group chat over the best way to handle certain actions or choose to push against him in others.

You can literally have conversations with Dream at 2 in the morning because Dream doesn't sleep and both talk quietly about how things have changed since the start of the server, listen to him reminisce about Sapnap and George even as he insists it was for the best that they don't talk anymore.

You could also potentially build negative or positive relationships with Punz and Ranboo, which will affect how they respond to you and later decisions in the story. Like if you're going for an ending where Dream doesn't put himself in prison, you have to have high affinity with both characters so they'll side with you against this idea

And you also get private conversations with them as well to foster this. listen 14 days is a lot of time I'm sure plenty can be squeezed in

but in the five seconds since thinking about this silly idea, there's a list of characters you can be

Like, if you choose to be a Random MC, you'd get a sort of pre- selected backstory and could make it up as you go along with how you got into this Plan situation with the trio

But I think it would be really, really fun if you could choose to be Technoblade

Like for whatever reason Techno accidentally gets access to The Plan Group Chat, and after a days worth of conversations, he's allowed to stay in the chat

and he gets Significantly different conversations than from Random MC

but also you can be Hannah, who comes to the DSMP a lot earlier than in canon, or Tina, and they also get different conversations, because they're different characters

and the same bare bones of the route happen, but its still Them and the texting is Them

And that might be too ambitious for an actual game but listen this is likely something that's not going to be actually made so instead Listen. Listen To The Benefits of Silly

But also please consider that you could get The Worst Endings Possible through actively encouraging Dream's self sacrificing behavior, reassuring him that he's making the right decisions all the time, ignoring when other characters bring up concerns

Consider the difference between Supporting Dream and Encouraging Dream. I'm shaking you

Consider having late night convos with Punz as he privately expresses worry for Dream, as he admits that sometimes he wonders if there's any point in The Plan or in even caring about the people of the smp. Consider Ranboo opening up about how fucked up it is to only remember who he is half the time, and the personal guilt he feels about deceiving Tubbo, but how despite his guilt he's still choosing to do this

I know I've mentioned this was for the express purpose of kissing Dream and that its a dating sim but my primary goal is no longer about Dream getting kissed its about giving him friendship

however he probably should still get kissed

but MOST IMPORTANTLY

ITS ABOUT THE WHOLE IDEA THAT IF DREAM HAD LITERALLY JUST. ANY SOLID SUPPORT. THE PRISON AND SO MUCH BULLSHIT WOULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED

Ranboo isn't himself half the time and Punz believes murder is always the solution they dont count

I think people at times are a little mean to foolish. I know he doesnt care and that this is a little /parasocial lmao, but when everyone on the server and the fans keep belittling him and telling him hes stupid and doesnt know better it makes me a little sad because hes so smart ! like so much of what he does is so thought through and he just wanna have fun but that doesnt mean he doesnt think ever. some fans will say wow all he knows is to bark and build but also like the inherent knowledge of math to build like he does is crazy! hes so smart !

also when he tries to say things and people talk over him it makes me sad:(((

Hell yeah I agree with you on that one Anon. Whenever he pulls out the "Why do you guys think I'm the dumbest motherfucker out there?" I just sigh because no one can deny that they do/did think that at some point in their lives. Yeah, he prefers to joke around and he often stumbles over his words and forgets certain things, but that doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't think 90% of the time.

Now! My number 1 controversial thought about the qsmp right now is about Tallulah. (Oh man I can't wait to lose followers for this <3)

I have to be honest, I'm not too fond of Tallulah. I don't like it when a fandom gives certain characters the "main character treatment" on a piece of media that isn't SUPPOSED to have a main character. And the way this fandom acts as if Tallulah (and by extension Chayanne) is the only egg ever is exactly like that. I saw a post talking about when the fandom acted as if it's just Wilbur and Tallulah in the world when Will was around and I agree, I don't like it when everything is suddenly about only a number of people only.

A problem I had with DSMP was the fans ignoring the other characters in favor of "the main characters" when, in reality, there isn't supposed to be one up until they started having scripts. The more popular people overshadowed the hard work that the others put into their own lore. And it rubs me the wrong way to see how similar the treatment for Tallulah is starting to become.

It's not that I hate Tallulah, she's a good character, but the fandom's treatment of her just makes it impossible for me to like her.

Just a bit of a disclaimer post I guess? Also using this to get out some feelings and to thoroughly set a boundary.

So I am remaining within the DSMP fandom as a whole, the DSMP's storyline to me is a comfort thing, I love the silly block men and my many aus. I'm mentioning this cause I am officially disregarding all CC related dramas or anything to do with the technical actors & writers of the DSMP.

This is mainly due to a mass amount of misinformation and various other things, I don't want to deal with, it causes wayyy to much conflict that consequently involves what I consider a comfort thing and additionally I'm going to be getting wayyy more liberal with what I post involving the characters (mainly in the shipping department) and I want it very clear that this is a blog that is CHARACTER based content.

Now to discuss something very important that ties in with this choice of mine to disregard drama, I additionally don't care who interacts with me and my content in terms of which CCs they like or don't like, what I do give a shit about are people in this fanbase who are assholes and go out of their way to treat certain people like shit cause they like Dream or whoever. I do not want anyone who thinks death-threating or doxing or anything of the sort is okay justified behavior as long as it's one group of people, near me or my content. My blog is a safe neutral ground for enjoyers of the CHARACTERS, your CC preference means nothing to me but how you treat others cause of their CC preference does matter - so in short, if you think attacking people based on which CCs they like is justified and okay, kindly, get the fuck out, the door is over there. I don't care what aforementioned CC has or has not done as long as they are not actively using their platforms to push shitty agendas and to hurt people, I can care less who you choose to watch - I care more about the ability to be a decent fucking human and to just leave people alone, harassment of any kind is not justified no matter the target.

I'm sorry if any of this is jumbled but I just need to put this out there.

Summary: I kindly ask that people who think harassment in any form towards people for the CCs they like is okay to please leave my blog and not interact with my content. Aside from this, almost anyone is free to interact with me - this is a safe space for DSMP Character enjoyers. Additionally please do not bring CC drama to my blog, I only make content on the DSMP Characters and do not wish to discuss drama due to various personal reasons. My CC opinions are my own private information and are not connected to my works involving their characters from the DSMP.

Okay so- can you please tell me some more headcanons or other things you have about the dsmp? Like the characters- If you don't wanna tell me then that's completely okay! I just wanted to ask cause I really like hearing about headcanons and stuff that people have- /gen /nf

IM ALWAYS SO HYPED WHEN I GET TO SHARE MY HEADCANNONS :D THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ASKING!!!! /gen Apologizes for this being answered so late.. And because these are mostly centered around Tubbo because I love talking about his character OH ALSO There is a tw warning on one of the hcs, please read it so you can skip it if you need too!

- Since George is sleeping all the time, People (Sapnap) have started to take care of him because it's very clear he doesn't want to- waking him up so he can drink water or eat or even just dragging him out of the forest he always falls asleep in!

- When Tommy was younger, he really wanted to be a fish. A goldfish to be exact, because of this factor he would spend most of his day trying to last underwater and to this day Tommy can now last a long time underwater!!

- With Tubbo's horns growing in, he headbutts everyone (usually for affection). The only people who can keep up with it is Technoblade and Puffy. Since Puffy has horns herself and Techno.. Is well Techno.

- Adding onto it, People (Philza) have started to refer to Tubbo as "Little Goat" because usually only baby goats headbutt for affection, Tubbo hates it and Tommy laughs everytime.

- if GeorgeHD did exist, I believe that he wouldn't hate George. Yep that's it-

- Tubbo is a very shaky person, his hands shake all the time. It's to the point where he gets pissed off about it, Ranboo likes to grab his hands and hold them for a few minutes when it's bad, it doesn't get rid of the shakes but it grounds Tubbo

- Tommy and Tubbo tickle each other all the time, even when L'manburg was first getting started they tickled each other. It's like their love language and even in Manburg or Pogtopia era no one had the heart to tell them to stop. (Wilbur had tried to tell them to stop but then they just started tickling him.)

- Quackity fidgets with his wings when he's stressed, and considering he runs a nation he's stressed alot. Most of the feathers on his wings are either bent or certain spots don't have as many on them because of his fidgeting.

- Quackity is a very angry duck and that can cause him to lash out at people, so when he gets like this people (usually Las Nevadas workers or Wilbur) like to pet his wings and softly tickle them! It doesn't mean they get away with it, After you pet them you're sent on cleaning duty. Or in Wilbur's case just get tortured with pictures of salmon.

- Tubbo has a bunch of Disney princess bandaids on his scar because Micheal thought he was in pain with the scar and so to make him feel better put bandaids on him! (Tommy also insisted on putting hello kitty bandaids on him-)

- Everyone on the Dream smp likes to tickle each other, Soft tickles, hard tickles, reward tickles, punishment tickles, comfort tickles. They will always find a reason to tickle each other- this is very confusing to new members who join because the smp doesn't waste time in showing them their little habit!

- Tubbo has a bunch of reasons to liking nukes but one of the reasons is because once they launch they often leave a gun powder smell, reminding him of Wilbur. It's.. Comforting in a strange way.

- Yknow that thing were people can like.. Taste words? I feel like that's what Tommy has, which is why he repeats words alot (Pog, pogchamp, primes) cause they taste good. That and for verbal stims!

- on the topic of stimming, Tommy used to be really embarassed about his so he would bite on his tongue whenever he felt a verbal stim coming on.. Like really bite. So much it would draw blood, until one day when he caught Techno stimming. Big strong Techno, the coolest person ever. Safe to say he started letting his stims out a bit more after that.

- when Quackity is excited about something (or someone) he shakes and flutters his wings! It's really cute, especially since it happens when he catches Wilbur coming over to Las nevadas. He hates him, he swears he does! But his bird brain loves Wilbur, he can usually stop them before Wilbur catches wind of it, he does not wanna deal with Wilbur finding out.

- I like to think Tommy has a bunch of pictures hung up around his house of him and his friends, the pictures are hung up on fairy lights! It's literally the only pretty thing about his house.

TW SCRATCHING SOMEONE PURPOSELY - Almost everyone on the Dream Smp has "bad" nails, most being bitten, dirt under the edges or just horribly cut nails. The only people who don't is Antfrost and Quackity, also Puffy. Antfrost is a cat so.. Y'know? He doesn't like having his nails touched so they grow perfectly until hes forced to cut them, Quackity used to have some uh vivid daydreams about.. Scratching a certain someone (Schlatt) so he takes good care of nails. Just incase the day ever comes, and Puffy likes her nails to be atleast cut so she looks professional in therapy sessions!

- Almost every hybrid on the server will make their hybrid side noises, okay that's a bad way of saying it but like Quackity will make duck noises, Tubbo will make goat noises, etc etc. And it always seems to happen when they're excited.

- and yes Tubbo does In fact make goat noises when he knows he's gonna get tickled, it's such a big tell that he wants tickles. Tommy teases him about it all the time, "I'm gonna get you Tubs!-.. D-Did you just bleat? AWW TUBS!! Your so excited for your tickles!! Come here-"

- Tubbo likes eating Christmas ornaments. Also soda cans it's.. It's concerning. S-Someone should probably stop him-

- Tommy can spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocius off the top of his head, no one knows how or why but it's very good for winning challenges!

- If you make any tickle teases to Tommy about his tummy, he will go bright red. It isn't even his death spot but the thought of it being tickled makes him very flustered.

- The bench trio, (Tommy, Tubbo, Ranboo) all like to watch child shows in their free time, they have watched cocomelon before but Tubbo got aggressive at it and almost smashed the tv with a headbutt-

- Tommy, as a bird hybrid makes nests, He sees Tubbo and Ranboo as his "flockmates" it doesn't matter that they're different species. When Tommy needs comfort he goes to the nest, Ranboo is usually the first to catch on so he goes and picks up Tubbo (Who squeals out of surprise) and starts bringing him towards Tommy. He drops him into the nest and sits down himself and they both do whatever they can to make Tommy feel better.

- Tommy in the universe he has wings, he claims they aren't ticklish. And people think it's true because when they try to tickle them he doesn't react.. Until Philza comes along. Philza has wings himself and it only takes a few minutes before Tommy is on the ground laughing his head off.

- Quackity and George on occasion spend time together. I mean Quackity's fiances left him and George's (Boyfriend? Best friend?) Left him so they bond over it, "Well Karl apparently forgot me so" "Ah, Dream forgot me too." They sit in silence until Quackity offers George a drink.

- The reason why George is so tired all the time is actually because of his mushroom hat, the type of mushroom he has on his head actually has like a sleeping thing in it. But even if he did take it off he would sleep the same amount so..????

- I like to think Quackity and in the universe where Tommy has small white wings they often will stretch their wings subconsciously towards people they trust to get compliments. If you compliment their wings, their bird brain will go crazy.

- Animals, for some reason, are naturally drawn to Tommy. It confuses people because he's loud, very very loud but he can draw even the shyest animals to him.

- Wilbur is the type of sibling to randomly enter your room, stare at you for a few seconds and then leave. WITHOUT CLOSING THE DOOR.

- Tubbo and Tommy have tried to convince Quackity to go to marriage therapy and they actually have managed! But once Quackity saw Karl, he became so pissed so fast that he broke the card in his hand. He never went to see then again.

- Quackity has a specific casino card that he fidgets with, it's become a comfort object for him like the rings around his neck. The thing is, the card doesn't belong to his casino. It was made far far before it, he has no idea where it came from. But it has alot of tape on it, (And a small signature from Wilbur.. Seriously where the hell did this card come from?-)

- Karl is asexual, Tommy is aroace, Technoblade is also aroace, Purpled is aroace, George is asexual.

- The smp has so many people with mental health issues, Puffy has stopped being surprised how many people come by nowadays.

- Wilbur will believe everything a fortune cookie has to say, he orders at least 20 a day.

- Tommy collects squishmallows!

- I believe in "Wilbur threatening to blow up people's houses if they are mean to his family" supremacy.

- Tommy refuses to eat apples because of the saying "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" and he's like: "But I don't want Puffy to stay away :("

- Tommy's safe food is dry ramen and Wilbur's is sand or pop rocks.

- Tommy will just randomly stare into people's eyes from across the room, he just keeps staring even as they look scared because why the hell is this 6'0 man staring at you like he wants to murder you???

- Tommy, Tubbo and Ranboo all have to do positive affirmations in the morning as it's a assignment assigned by Puffy after their last group therapy session, Sometimes they like to give compliments to each other. Sometimes on rough days they like to name five things they like about each other and trust me they always have five things.

- (Bit sad) Tubbo always knew Wilbur favours Tommy over him.. Doesn't mean it hurts any less. Words spread to Wilbur about how everyone thinks he favours Tommy over all his brothers. And while he loves Tommy, he loves all his brothers. Even Tubbo, the small goat boy who they found on the side of the road. Wilbur realizes Tubbo must think this way as he is usually quick to deescalate rumors, so he does what any good brother would do. Rushes over to Tubbo, stares for a few seconds until Tubbo's attention is on him and then tickles him. He tickles him while saying how much he loves Tubbo, how he could never pick a favorite brother, and if he finds out who told these rumors he's going to blow up their house.

- Ranboo takes dust baths, I said it.

- Tommy and Tubbo have a hard time with selfcare, Tubbo because he likes to overwork and Tommy simply because he's too nervous to be anywhere near big baths of water. So they've started washing each others hair in the sink. The thing they learned was this was a sign of trust, they trust that they won't hurt each other and will allow the other many breaks as they want before they continue.

- I'm pushing the "Tommy knows how to knit and makes sweaters for his friends" agenda.

- I'm also pushing the "Tommy and Tubbo definitely cry at romance movies even if they are terrible and hug each other while crying while being like "BUT HOW COULDD HEEE THEY WERE INLOVEE"

- Most people think Ranboo is mentally stable, jokes on them he's also mentally unstable! The problem is crying burns his skin so he can't cry half the time.

- Wilbur and Ranboo hang out because of the burger van of course but also because Wilbur is trying to figure out what the hell is Ranboo's other side. He has a million theories, the most popular being ghost. Not ghast, he thought that was stupid just... Ghost.

- Tommy can shapeshift, but he can't control it. Whatever his subconscious decides is what happens. If he's feeling more eager to cause trouble, he'll have a raccoon tail and ears, if he feels more soft he'll have white wings. He tends to hide these things or just have devil horns. He just finds them comfy.

Okay LISTEN UP Y'ALL

I'll set the scene. The date is sometime after LN5 first airs. I was in the middle of rewatching Foolish's six-hour building stream in which Quackity recounts his entire life story, when suddenly my third eye burst the fuck open.

And I guess there's no better time than now to drop my c!loanshark meta.

I've always liked these characters, and I've picked up on a lot of really cool connections between them. c!Quackity is a former idealistic young politician turned jaded capitalist, building a legacy and clawing his way up with bloody fingers. c!Foolish is a physical god who once used violence to get his way but came to regret that way of life and now copes through creating beauty. Quackity explicitly manipulates Foolish into joining him by appealing to his newfound fear of mortality, a fear which Q shares. They're both trying to move away from past versions of themselves, but what they each see as "the problem" is very different.

What compels me about this dynamic is that Foolish simply existing as himself is a refutation of Quackity's worldview; building things up rather than tearing them down worked for him. That's how he got immortality! That's why he has so many friends! And while Quackity is trying to push Foolish back into the life he used to live because he desires and envies that strength, Foolish does not want to lose himself to that side of himself; when he does join Las Nevadas, he claims he's simply trying to find a "healthy balance."

But because of the kind of person Foolish is trying to be, combined with the perspective from centuries of existence, he's in a perfect position to reach Q. Quackity has a history of getting easily attached, both to powerful people and to people who show him compassion unprompted. Foolish is both of these.

And we see this! We see Quackity in that very same stream opening up and telling Foolish everything about himself, despite admitting that it makes no sense for Foolish to stay and listen. We see him trusting Foolish to run the country after Slime died. We see him enlisting Foolish's help to make canonical babies clone an army of slimes.

And... controversial take incoming, but this dynamic is easier than Quackcicle for me to read as potentially romantic. I think that generally, and especially post-Schlatt, Quackity prefers to be intimate with someone he sees as... an equal, at least in some sense. And as much as he cares about Slime, he does not view him as an equal; him simultaneously infantilizing and idealizing the guy is one of the big problems Slime rips into him for ("you found me, something malleable"). Meanwhile, he's still Foolish's boss, officially, but he also knows that Foolish is experienced, capable of extreme violence, and definitely capable of killing him if he wanted to. He's kind, he's nice, but he's not pure. There's a certain... safety in having someone like that on your side. Doesn't hurt your ego, either.

So for Quackity it's "you are one of the few people who can truly understand why I am the way I am" and "you could destroy me if you so chose, and you wouldn't be wrong for doing so" and perhaps later on, "knowing you better now, I want to do right by you; don't I wish someone had done that for me?" with a healthy dose of "you know, the fact that this guy could snap me in half and I'm only still alive out of mercy (or am I the one in control here? Nice.) is… kinda hot."

And for Foolish, it's "I still hate you for what you couldn't or wouldn't do" and "I feel sorrow for the parts of you I see myself in" and perhaps later on, "I came here for my own benefit but maybe you and this place deserve a second chance; didn't I want a second chance my own?" with a little dash of "… okay, I'll admit it, this mortal is kind of cute, and I could always kick him and bail later if I really wanted to."

The rub we find with a romantic relationship between these two, though, is getting it to go the other way. Despite having been very civil to Q, Foolish has no reason to trust Q. This guy let him die, came into his home, insulted him to his face, and probably doesn't pay him nearly what his work is worth. Foolish still has some self-respect left. He seriously considered betraying Q to Dream, for goodness' sake, and it's hard to blame the guy.

But after Quackity's second death, Foolish is... basically all that Q has to confide in. And again, maybe he's in the perfect position to understand and discern whether or not Q's change is genuine. Given his own history, he knows that people can change.

Picture this: Quackity now has hundreds of humanoid slimes to care for, right? Maybe he wants to do better by them than he did for Charlie, and is realizing just how badly he might have fucked up by raising them the way he did. Maybe he tries to encourage them to do things independently, too, and it isn't quite working. Maybe some of them gain enough agency to be angry and choose to leave Las Nevadas, and maybe part of Q's growing process is letting them go.

But maybe Foolish stays to help those who remain; after all, wasn't he their creator, too? Doesn't he have some responsibility? And while he's teaching them new skills like building, or helping them hone their individual styles, he's also there for Q to lean on, ask questions, confess things he hasn't told anyone else. Maybe Foolish tells Q a few stories from his own past, and Q isn't horrified to hear the gory details. Maybe they go from coworkers to tentative friends, and perhaps something a little more... flirtatious. Yeah, that's the word. Nothing too serious, just fun. Like when Quackity comes to Foolish in the middle of the night, shaky from a dream he's not remorseful enough to call a nightmare yet, and asks if he can sit with him. Or when Foolish asks for feedback on a blueprint that's giving him trouble, and Quackity spends half an hour praising and hyping him up (it's little... weird, but appreciated). Maybe one day, Quackity finally gives Foolish a true, heartfelt apology.

Foolish isn't going to hold Q's hand through his self-improvement journey; Q has to face his guilt and do the hard parts alone. But maybe at the end of it, Foolish will still be there, in this cold country that's starting to feel just a bit more like a family, and maybe that says everything it needs to.

On a completely different end of the spectrum, cAN YOU IMAGINE THE ANGST IF FOOLISH HAD ACTUALLY BETRAYED Q IN LN5. AFTER Q HAD FINALLY STARTED TO TRUST AGAIN HE GETS SMACKED WITH THE CONSEQUENCES OF HIS OWN ACTIONS. WE WERE FUCKING ROBBED OF THIS SCENE. ROBBED, I TELL YOU-

Sooo... yeah. Their dynamic doesn't need to be romantic, per se, but it's a ship I find very interesting and appealing. Hence the essay.

The way Tntduo are written in fanfics got me levitating (specifically a certain fanfic that I wrote like 5000 words about underneath-)

In many stories, Tntduo are either written as very psycho-competitive rivals that find eachother hot, or Wilbur is in love while Quackity wants to cry. There are a few exceptions where my fingers are gripping onto my laptop so hard that it snaps- in a good way. There was once a fanfic that made me fall onto my knees to praise it because of the way they wrote them. The author wrote Tntduo as boys with no want of commitment to each other, and it was perfect. If they were to talk about whatever happens between the two, it would make it all feel too real. I'm not sure why this story made me willingly rip out my heart and present it upon the author, however, if I were to take a guess, I think it's because the characterisation for all the characters in the story seemed just so canon. They acted goofy, yet romantic, yet the manic mindset and actions of Wilbur and the tone shift within a certain chapter gripped my throat so hard. I could continue praising this story, but in truth, I think what made me think of it so highly was because it was so short. It was sharp. It was humorous. It was perfect. It has many unspoken words and events. Nobody took anybody or anything as seriously as other authors usually do in other Tntduo fanfics. It just captured how many events and actions that happen on the Dsmp just happen, with not much of a serious tone. It's silly, it's fun. The only time the tone was every serious for a while was during Las Nevadas, and I think that was the cherry on top. The lore in the Dsmp was not so serious in the beginning, yet as time moved on it became more planned, more detailed, more serious. The layers within characters are revealed, showing how in-depth character really are, the way they think, the way they act. It's probably a matter of preference, but I think it's perfect. A lot of the chapters they wrote were during the Pogtopia era. The era of manic, the era of craziness, the era of party, fun, high-stakes. An example of this is Niki's birthday party. The stream is full of just cheeriness! Party!! However, at the end of the stream, it was full of stress because of Wilbur's manic movements. It's clearly not abnormal for such. The fact the fanfic was written in the way they act in the server and not how people would usually act in reality. It made the reactions feel right, nobody cared what Wilbur and Quackity did during that stream...and they did many things...I loved it. (Loved it in a way that's not weird, I promise.) The way I'm describing this story makes it seemed like it's an incredible detailed fanfic with chapters upon chapters. It's not. The fact it was so short just left room for me to appreciate how they wrote every single interaction. The interactions between Tntduo and other characters. It was just...so right. It's such a short story but I can't help but hold it close to my heart. Maybe because they also didn't just write about Tntduo in Las Nevadas- Every single Tntduo story that is sort of following canon are all during the Burger Van arc. Not like it's bad, it's just that the fanfics of Tntduo that aren't during that arc but during Pogtopia or the Elections are so so short or sickly romantic it makes me vomit, in a good way. Please, if someone reads this and would very much be down to write Tntduo in a way that is...canon-like? Please tag me or tell me or something- I'm not sure why I wrote so much about a fanfic I remembered existed just today and I didn't even reread the whole thing- Anyways, Tntduo supremacy. Wait, i should probably link the fanfic- but I have this feeling that if someone reads it they'll think I'm praising it way too much. I don't want you guys to have your expectations be broken from the way I described it- Listen, it's not often that I find a story that writes Tntduo in such a way- Anyways, if anyone read this far...here's the link (please don't be disappointed-) I read another chapter and I felt like I definitely overhyped it- But y'know what?! I like it, and I appreciate it, and I will love it forever.

a) yes I do watch double life! i'm keeping up with scar's POV, but I do hop around between other POV's to see funny moments i hear about on tumblr (like I've skimmed through bdubs' stuff a bit and some of scott and pearl's as well). now as for who I think will win?? I'm really not sure, but tbh I could see martyn and cleo actually getting far?? idk why i just feel like they have a pretty solid shot. either them or impulse and bdubs. i'd love for the perfect soulmate couple living out their domestic bliss dreams to be the final two at the end

b) I'm extremely careful with who I tell irl about the fact that i write mcyt fanfic. technically, there's 6 people who know, but 2 of them i met online bc of my fics first and only later figured out we went to the same uni (yes, that happened twice), 1 reader approached me irl bc we were in a creative writing class together and they recognized my worldbuilding bc i used the same concept of someone else's dream but with original characters for a workshop piece lmao, and 1 person i figured out was into mcyt while we were chatting and I gave her my twitter so she knows but we haven't hung out much since that one day. so the 2 left are the only people i've told on my own, one of them being a really close friend of mine who already knew i wrote fanfic, and she definitely teases me that i got 'fandom famous' for writing minecraft fic, but she's not mean about it. the other person is a guy i was kind of dating for a bit who is literally the chillest and nicest human being i think i've ever met, i never intended on telling him but he's just so genuinely non-judgemental about other peoples interests so I told him and he thought it was very cool. so no I've never had anyone ghost me bc I only tell people who I know aren't going to care lmao

c) oh man that's a tough question hm... this is gonna sound weird since i'm a c!wilbur main but i think i'd interview c!techno?? pretty much just to be like "sir are you aware you're not really an anarchist" and also just call him out on some of the shit he's done lol (don't get me wrong, I really enjoy c!techno as a character and a lot of what he's done is justified, but I definitely have so many questions for him about his thought process for certain things he's done)

d) i don't kin characters tbh?? and I definitely don't kin c!tommy lol. nothing against it, but I'm just very strange in that I really don't see myself in a lot of fictional characters. I can project onto them, but that doesn't necessarily mean I heavily relate to them or anything

e) well my favorite content creator is pretty obviously wilbur soot, but if we're not talking mcyt then it would definitely be mina le. she's a video essayist on youtube who i absolutely adore. she talks about things like fashion history, the subcultures of fashion, and also discusses pop culture a lot in really interesting ways. I've watched pretty much every single video on her youtube channel and I get so hyped every time she uploads

he's lying you know, he's covering up past narrative mistakes. this feels empty. he was never writing about tommy. you can't make the most narcissist and self centered character in the world, have him commit astrocities with full disregard for others emotions and with lack of any proper communication. and then at the last second go hey actually it was all for his friend tho. HE HAD CHILD SOLIDERS ! IT WAS HIS COUNTRY THAT HE SOLD AWAY OTHERS FOR ! it was never tommy's, he was never protecting anyone this is sickening to watch in ernest. the only way you could sell this plot point is if in his own self delusion he's convinced himself this was true and will later realize he's wrong. but as a finale, this is disgraceful.

why are we sittinf here watching him read like he's not even reading out loud. absolute cop out. I'd rather he had done the only easier option and just never make a dsmp stream again.

this is disgraceful to ozymandias too if I'm honest. what a British thing to use. it's not a poem about a guy who went back to fucking Utah. it's a poem about a guy who never got to say sorry and who was never forgiven. a man who made every wrong choice and now has to live with that. this is disheartening. this isn't the fall of a powerful man, instead this is the erasure of just that. YOU CANT TAKE A BOAT TO UTAH AND THEN SAY YOU NEVER FORGAVE YOURSELF AS IF ANY OF YOUR FINAL ACTIONS REFLECT THAT SENTIMENT.

I was so passionate about every careful detail and past action, I've thought for weeks on end about certain lines and actions. I mostly blame the audience for this. for deciding too late that they didn't want a grim dark tale when the foundation had already been well set. they've taken so much dark potential and dumped a can of whipped cream on it. I'm not eating this

This is going to sound probably silly and I shouldn't take it too seriously since it's a little minecraft server, but whatever. Will say it anyway since the brainworms needs to get this out of my head. Rant in terms of CCs using the DSMP as damage control.

It gets really annoying when CCs (more specifically THREE certain creators..cough if you catch my drift cough) use the DSMP as a way to do damage control and destroy the same things over and over (e.g: Tommy's base) to cause a reaction. Like there's no point to it at all.

The reason why the server was so popular in the first place was due to the lore and the history behind it. This kind of action would make sense if, y'know, there's an actual validated reason behind it? Maybe to amplify a storyline? But no, they only do it because "oh nooo I'm getting cancelled lemme make some rushed lore and impulsively destroy something that wont lead to anything in the end boohooo".

I can understand it when people aren't getting interested in the server anymore or is getting tired of the lore, and it's because of things like this. The storyline of the server is so important to so many fans and them crushing it like this will just make it lose its spark.

That's why I don't even have the motivation to focus on it as much unless it's from CCs who are passionate about their characters, and it's also why I don't care about certain "lore" stuff they did on a whim. Because it's obvious it wasn't planned carefully to amplify a character. (e.g: the death book because wtf was this all about, c!george waking up after destroying everything in the server)

Look, I get it, a lot of CCs aren't probably as interested in doing lore anymore, and that's fine. I totally get it. They have other passions and they would rather focus on that. It's not easy to continue a storyline with a bunch of fans breathing down your neck and constantly begging for you to do lore when you're doing something else.

But, COMMUNICATION. IS. SO. IMPORTANT.

The CCs need to talk to each other properly in terms of lore and to get it together. They need to set boundaries on what to mess with and what not to if one of these things are important to a character. If they want to destroy things that have history, THERE NEEDS TO BE A PROPER REASON. AN EVENT.

TLDR: Stop destroying things in the server to cause a reaction, it's getting repetitive and boring. Thank you!

Hello! Same c!crimeboys anon. I do think the particular comment of Ghostbur's I mentioned is reliable since it occurred shortly after Nov 16, before any of Ghostbur's unreliableness was really made part of the character, but we can agree to disagree on that one since it's not something that can be determined for certain, nor is it the only thing supporting my argument.

As for Revivedbur's arc in particular, it seems we're in complete agreement there. c!Wilbur hurting c!Tommy in minor ways to avoid further harm is an example of care, but I brought it up specifically as an example of how it's possible for a character to care for someone and hurt/manipulate them at the same time – something that your initial post posited as an impossibility, which is what I took issue with in the first place.

The button room is also an interesting case, but I don't feel it's right to analyze it in isolation. Pogtopia c!Wilbur in general is a very conflicted character, he vacillates between actively wanting to hurt and even kill his friends and feeling terrible about it. His moments of regret and doubt do not nullify the moments of genuine malice, though, I feel like. For all his unwillingness to harm his friends in that moment, he still tried to harm them during the Red Festival and ended up blowing up L'Manburg when there were people in the vicinity on Nov 16. Which, again, supports my main point.

Overall, my main point of disagreement with you was the supposed incompatibility of hurt and care. But since you agreed that Revivedbur DID intentionally hurt c!Tommy, maybe there isn't any disagreement here at all.

(btw, if you are confused about any of the events I reference, I can provide sources. Just ask. DSMP is a big story it's hardly surprising when someone isn't aware of something or isn't sure what exact event a person is referencing)

c!Wilbur is such a complex character, complete agreement with you there. His internal conflict is so fun to analyse as well as his relationship with c!Tommy. I don’t have much else to add, honestly, very real and based takes here. He’s definitely capable of it, but there’s also always an explanation for it that isn’t as simple as ‘he’s evil’, and I don’t believe any of it is JUST malicious intent - there’s something underlying. which was what my og post was mainly discussing. Sorry I was a little unspecific with the wording oops

So, I've been thinking about how I'm gonna handle myself in dsmp fandom from now on and stuff, and I think talking about it more instead of avoiding this might make the anxiety stomach ache go away finally. So. Here we go.

I have never been a big dteam follower in the first place. Yall already know that. I don't think much is going to change for now, depending on how things play out from here? But for right now, not much is gonna change other than like. I'm gonna be avoiding cdream stuff, which fucking sucks because he's such a good villain (can we ban gross people from having talent please.)

I'm primarily a Ranboo enjoyer, along with Tommy, Tubbo, and Wilbur, so nothing regarding my posting habits about them will change unless one of them does or says something stupid about this issue. I'm going to be deciding how I respond to what happens going forward quietly and not making big declarations about it because I just don't want to argue about this particular issue with randos.

Basically, I guess what I'm saying here is that I'm taking how I respond to this a day at a time and deciding how I handle it based on how things unfold going forward, rather than taking any kind of hard stance from the outset.

Like. Okay, full disclosure, and tw for discussion of online csa, but. This whole thing is incredibly complicated and sensitive for me because I was myself a victim of an older man in a community I was in taking advantage of me online when I was a teenager. But it's hard and complicated because, like... while this is only one creator out of a whole community, he's entwined himself so hard into everything that it's difficult to separate him from it, and my autistic hyperfixated brain is terrified by the thought of how things could change going forward or what this could mean for the community I've dedicated the past two years of my life to. And yes, it is much more important that this be handled appropriately and that justice is served, obviously-- all I'm saying here is that I can't help but feel incredibly anxious about what had been my source of comfort suddenly becoming a trigger or just... falling apart before it can conclude properly.

I don't want to discuss the issue itself directly because it's incredibly upsetting for me, and I hope yall understand. It isn't that I'm ignoring it, I promise, or that I don't care, but I have to look after myself and mind my own limits as someone who is also a victim of something like this and who has been feeling physically sick watching it unfold.

I might blacklist some terms on tumblr for a bit. Again, please understand that my not talking about current events isn't because I don't care, but it's a measure to protect myself and my own mental health, which is shaky at best lately anyway.

I love yall. I love the people I've met in this community, I love the story and characters and... most of the ccs still. I may zero in on certain ones for a bit, even more than usual, or I might just spend a whole lot of time away from tumblr in general for a while, because every time I check my dash currently my heart starts racing and my stomach hurts.

I'm sorry I can't come in with my usual fire about this one. I just don't have it in me. I'm tired of constantly feeling sick to my stomach and being unable to feel happy because I'm constantly anxious. I've gotta take care of myself, and making myself sick keeping track of each new development as it happens isn't helping anyone in the first place.

Drabble Contains: Enderman Hybrid!Reader, angst -------------------------------------

When you had heard of the new member who was able to pick up blocks in their original form without silk touch needless to say you had been intrigued. You weren't alone in that, not by a long shot.

In fact you had always watched from a distance as people went crazy watching him pick up grass blocks and stone blocks with nothing but his fist. His gift was special, anyone could see that.

For you, well, your intrigue wasn't because it was new to you, no. Your intrigue was for a very different reason to everyone else. It was because you could do those things too.

No one knew you could, of course, that was a secret you had very much kept to yourself. You knew that if certain people knew they would want to use your power for themselves, for chaos and destruction. Once you knew what they would do you did everything you could to hide the fact you were part enderman, donning an eye patch to cover your one purple eye, gloves to cover your hands (and to stop you from being able to mine things you shouldn't in front of people), and any other part was covered with your choice of clothing.

You were careful to hide your secret. But he isn't, you're worried for him. He needs to know.

The trip to his new house was a long one. Not for the faint of heart either. You'd been unlucky too, spending longer than you wanted waiting for rain to pass. Then again that was your fault for not bringing what you needed to protect yourself from heavy downpour.

Soon enough you had made it though, knocking on the door to his small house. It opened a crack, you could see his red eye in the dark, watching you cautiously from the other side.

"I'm sorry to interrupt your evening. We haven't met yet, Ranboo, but I need to talk to you." He lets out a large exhale from the nose behind the door. "I don't let strangers into my house." He states.

"Then come outside, please. It's important. It's about your enderman abilities." "Oh no," he starts, sounding annoyed, "so many people have already asked. I'm not showing anyone else. Go away." He goes to close the door, but you refuse to quit that easy. You jam your foot in the doorway, pushing against the wood.

The door flies open, Ranboo taking a few steps back to stop himself from falling over. You stand in the doorway, when he looks at you again you give him a hard stare. "It is urgent. You need this information from someone who understands what power you hold."

Ranboo laughs, stepping slightly closer to you. "You don't understand. No one could ever understand what I have. You come to my house, break down my door and insist on something with no proof. There is no one like me."

You don't need to reply with words, instead reaching up and ripping the eye patch away. Ranboo's initial reaction isn't much, but you can tell it's got him thinking. You aid his thinking by taking off your gloves and rolling up your sleeves to your elbows.

On one side your hand and arm is completely black, on the other there are patches of enderman skin tone mixed with your skin tone, in a way that almost twists up your arm, the darker patches growing more frequent the closer they are to your hand.

"You and I aren't entirely different. I chose to hide what you choose to show, afraid of the consequences should the wrong person learn of what I can do. It's a rare gift we have." "Why did you come here to show me?" He asks now, "Who are you?"

"I came here because I needed you to know that you can't trust everyone. I've watched you share with countless people what you can do. It's dangerous." "You know who to trust and who not to." Ranboo says, stepping towards you again. "Surely if the two of us stick together it will be easier. You know who to trust, you know how things work around here. Teach me?"

You take in a deep breath. To teach Ranboo what you know, well, that would mean you would have to reveal yourself to the world. There would be no hiding. But if you don't you may be forced to reveal yourself and what you can do.

"I'll stick with you, I'll teach you. Oh, to answer your other question, the names Y/n." Ranboo nods, holding out his hand for you to shake. You reach out and take his offer, accepting his offer for you to stay here and teach him what you know. "Well, Y/n, welcome to the Arctic."

Au fanfic is, a good chunk of the time, kinda shit, or at least mostly mediocre.

It makes sense statistically, since the dsmp fandom is so big it makes sense that most writers within the fandom are amateurs, so it's best to look for good fics by seeing what fics are preferred by the fandom, kinda like democracy. But unfortunately democracy has failed us in real life and in fandom, or at least it failed to live up to my probably contrived standards cause majority of popular fics I found... Lackluster.

Fun wise they're chill, but writing wise? Nah, it's like smoking. It smells nice, but it got no substance.

I'm not talking about canon adjacent au fics (though most do suffer from the same problems), I'm talking about super hero aus, vampire aus, modern aus, foster aus, and the dreaded Mafia aus, cause always, ALWAYS, they just shoe horn in the characters into certain archetypes because actually considering the personality types you're dealing with , and themes, locations, backgrounds, that's all too much work and risks going off the au model, cause some characters just wouldn't act the way they are characterized to act in popular au fics.

Like that Carson guy? I don't follow em anymore cause I think they got shit opinions on music (no offense) but they recently made an essay on foster aus that has been making the rounds, and you know what? They're right! It's all just trauma porn. Just trying to squeeze emotions outta ya for none of the work.

It kinda reminds me of the fuck ton YA novels that got quickly published during the YA boom, not really aiming for a message or a theme, just aiming to capture the audience's attention.

Like, okay, this may sound like I'm just not a fan of anything that doesn't stick to canon but that's not the problem here. My favourite au fic is Devil Town, I loved it so much I would put it just about next to Night in the Woods in terms of writing (though I do feel like Devil Town would have benefited from a slightly bigger word count since some parts felt a bit too fast but I think that's just my subjective prefrence for slow as shit stories so I won't hold it against the fic), and in there techno VERY MUCH DOES NOT act like canon techno.

Like I thing that differecates it for me is like, does the author care or do they just want to have fun and I'm just taking this too seriously? Like is this fanfic gonna be a 3year long relationship or just a quick hook-up. And who knows maybe I should stop looking for 3 year old relationships in via quick hook-ups, but idk man idk.

Maybe I should just stop holding fanfiction to the same standards of published novels? Ehhh, probably, but that's ain't gonna stop me from frowning at mediocre fics like a cat frowns at cat food served in a bowl rather than a plate.

Not necessarily on the fact that most fics aren't masterpieces of modern literature or something, but more with your whole idea that they should be.

That's literally not what fanfics are there for. They're there for people to have fun with characters they enjoy. And AU fanfictions are just the same, take some characters you like and put them in a setting you want to explore. As long as it entertains you as the writer that's literally all you need.

And, you know, even if the writing isn't air-tight that doesn't really matter at the end of the day, because it's still good practice for those who want to make something more of it, or simply a nice pastime for people. It doesn't need to be.

I genuinely think that by trying to look for something in fanfiction that fanfictions inherently aren't you're kinda only setting yourself up for disappointment. It's like eating a chocolate cake looking for a strawberry taste and then complaining that the cake tasted of chocolate and not strawberry. Kinda your own fault there.

Also, I don't know who Carson is, and I'm not familiar with their post, so I can't comment on that, but if the premise is that "foster aus are just trauma porn" I'm gonna say that I'm guessing they haven't read many of them, especially since for most of them the main focus is on comfort and found family, and just putting characters who are heavily traumatized in canon in another setting where they've experienced similar things (bar the dying part of course).

Of course, I'm not saying that you're not allowed to not enjoy fanfics, of course you are. But from the way you talked about it, it kinda sounds like Fanfictions are not what you're looking for in the first place, and complaining because they don't meet the standards of published novels is a tad bit silly I'll be honest here...
