THE LEMONADE SAVE V3.5

Finally! Another update! I made it before the horses! And I finally made a new promo image!

Before I get into what’s changed, a quick primer on what this  save is all about: I wanted a diverse save with all the drama we got  back in the Sims 2 days. I call it the Lemonade Save because the Sims 4 is lacking in all that. When EA gives you lemons, you make lemonade.

Here’s what’s new/updated:

Updated ALL existing families with family dynamics.

Made over all San Sequoia sims and added new families. All new families have relationships (good and bad) with existing sims.

Tweaked existing sims using new in-game assets.

Added new townies.

As always, this save only includes new and updated sims. The builds are untouched. Due to how The Sims 4 culls relationships, some of the the relationships I created may go poof eventually unless you use a mod that corrects this.

This save requires no cc and uses the following DLC:

Back up your existing saves before installing. To install, just place the save file into your Sims 4 Saves folder. This save fills slot 9992f so hopefully it won’t overlap with any of your existing ones. If it does, just rename it.

Look for the save called LEMONADE SAVE V3.5 when you open the game to play.

as per my good friend @sepublic’s req, here are some quick notes from dana’s talk yesterday that i somehow managed to get into and wrote as it went on to remember everything, now that i’ve put my brain together and processed all the stuff dana said that y’all might find interesting :)) long post!

when i walked into the room she was just sitting on a chair eating cookies which i guess is irrelevant but it was a huge reality check because like… holy shit? dana terrace is a real human? and she’s eating cookies? i literally could not process her presence but that made it settle in a little more

first answer to a question was that after the shortening of toh she never quite got used to it and just had to suck it and learn to work with what she had. she says that she also feels uneasy by the current reality of the industry and wonders what’s in store for creatives, but hopes the landscape will change in the future

her first reaction upon learning about the shortening was to say “fuck you” and then lock herself away in her room to cry :,)

she heavily considered ending season 2 in an insane cliffhanger and then never actually finishing the show to spite disney, but was convinced by a couple of her friends (including matt braly!) to keep working on it

cancellation news came by the time eda’s requiem was being produced

she was asked about amphibia crossovers and she said that she likes to think anne and luz have crossed paths

a girl in an otter onesie thanked her for making the show. dana got emotional and cried, then got up to hug her

we were her first live event since the show aired!

she’s currently throwing ideas around and working on pitch for a new series (she’s not set on anything tho)

king was originally meant to be very tall

one of the projects she’d love to get to the most is a graphic novel

she’s also interested in writing for live action

hexside was not on her original plans (at least the version we know now) and the execs pushed her to add a school setting into the show

she found making season 1 a lot more challenging due to execs’ restraints

she would’ve liked to dive further into bump and eda’s relationship

the inspiration for belos comes from cult leaders (obviously) and matthew hopkins, as well as many of her own conservative family members, particularly those with homophobic ideals

she doesn’t like writing belos at all

when i told her my name she went “oooo” which made my soul melt from within

i asked if she was able to disclose any unused or potential plot threads she would’ve added if not for the short s3! she said that wasn’t something she could say anything about so she let me ask another question (we were talking for real and she saw my person there in the room can you fucking believe that. she passed me the mic with her hand. insane. i touched dana terrace mic)

so i asked if she was met with any challenges when pitching characters who were part of such a diverse cast, not only in regards to queerness, but also for not quite fitting into a box and just being overall very… different (neurodivergent for the homies, lol) and if the execs had any trouble understanding them

unfortunately i think because i used the word “cast” she misunderstood my question and thought i was talking about the voice acting cast of the show, and said that disney didn’t have any issues hiring diverse people and she always wanted to make sure a character’s diverse traits matched the actor, mentioning avi roque and raine as an example

when she first heard sarah-nicole robles’ audition for luz she didn’t like it because she used a voice that was too high-pitched. thank fuck people in the studio suggested she give her another chance with a more neutral voice, and that’s show she landed on her to voice luz

actually, she said voice casting was the easiest part of her job

disney is not interested in producing any more owl house content

a girl asked about huntlow and she said that was something she couldn’t answer specifically because she didn’t want to give away any spoilers (?)

even though she doesn’t regret what she wrote, she would’ve liked to see how the story would’ve progressed if luz hadn’t been admitted into hexside. she thinks not much would’ve changed; she would still be friends with gus & willow, fall in love with amity, and, eventually, slowly prove to bump how capable she is

she really, REALLY wishes she had gotten to do another episode with young raine and eda. she LOVES those two, and mentioned how much she dreams about doing a series of them as teens

she went through a period of really neglecting her health and sleeping only about two hours a night due to the stress of working on the show and her busy schedule, which really drained her, and advised everyone who wanted to become a showrunner to learn to take care of themselves even in stressful times

i told her how much the show meant to so many people and that every sleepless night had been more than worth it, that everyone was grateful for everything she’d done and keeps on doing, that her efforts had paid the fuck off. also that i hoped she was doing better lately and taking care

she wants to take a good fucking break once the show is over

i also thanked her for making lilith aroace, as no one in the room had mentioned it, and said she was glad people were able to resonate with that

she pitched another show alongside the owl house, and will show the pitch later

they took some pictures with her and the people in the room before wrapping up

respectfully, she’s so fucking fine

i don’t know what else to say man, she just really manages to light up a room. her presence is something so special and those couple hours of just chatting with her alongside other people became easily one of the best moments of my whole life. she really is incredibly passionate about what she does and so eager to help aspiring creators, which is why we were all ultimately there for. i don’t think the past two years of my life would’ve been the same if it hadn’t been for her work impacting me the way it has. i feel like the luckiest person on earth :,)

TGGTVAV x TGS AU!

Ok so Sage has always been talking about The Gentleman’s guide to Vice and Virtue and I finally got around to reading it and to say the least… I LOVED IT, every part of it! Whilst reading this fantastical tale, I just COULD NOT stop thinking of the Jekyon parallels to Monty and Percy… Just AGRGHHH they are all such big, lovable, queer Victorian idiots! Anyway If you couldn’t tell by the title of this post, I slam-dunked that book into my favorites pile and hastily made another AU. (also,,, SPOILERS! I am warning you. But what are you doing? Go read this book already!) 

In short I’ve basically taken The Characters from TGS and dumped them into the storyline/plot of TGGTVAV, In saying that neither Jekyll or Lanyon are strictly Percy or Monty, if that makes sense? I contemplated this over and over and I just couldn’t cram Jekyll or Lanyon’s characters into Monty or Percy’s. as an example; Lanyon’s personality is a lot more similar to Monty’s than Percy but Lanyon isn’t bisexual (a big aspect of Monty’s character) Yet at the same time both Lanyon and Percy play the Violin, both have dreamy freckles etc. But he just doesn’t fit into either of them, same goes with Jekyll; Jekyll and Monty both share similarities but are both very different, yet not different enough to take the role of Percy. So with all of that confusing explanation, Jekyll and Lanyon remain themselves with a few extra ~touches~: 

Jekyll is going to be sent to the mental asylum in Holland due to the existence of Hyde. Lanyon finds out about Hyde when he involuntarily transforms in Marseilles. 

Lanyon still plays the Violin and brings it on the Tour with him (for the reasons of plot accuracy and me pushing the Violin-Lanyon propaganda) 

Lanyon takes Monty’s position of power (as in his father is an Earl, and sends them on Tour) although Lanyon is rich, racism still very much exists and isn’t a terminated theme.

Before I continue and as a side note: Felicity Does not exist. As much as I wanted to work her into this, I just couldn’t without complicating a bunch of things, and as I said this is an Au, my au and I can do what I want - I do love Felicity but She just wasn’t going to work here.

Frankenstein (still a woman) takes the role of Mateu Robles because I thought it would be fun to play on the idea that Frankenstien created life and that Mateu’s panacea can heal people. After researching and experimenting, Frankestein tried the potion on Elizabeth but it stopped her heart, similar to how Frankenstein's original creation (the creature) ended up killing her love. I thought it would be interesting, that because Frankenstein kind of killed her wife, she created Helena and Dante the same way she made the creature, although they technically aren’t human, Helena and Dante still look and act like humans, and they believe Elizabeth equally as their mother as they do with Frankenstein. (Don’t ask me how a WLW relationship would work in the 1800’s ,,, everyone just thinks that Frankie is a guy {kind of like in TGS} ) 

Queen Lucy is Scipio because a.) We need more female badasses and b.) take ONE LOOK at her character design and Tell me she DOESN’T Look like a pirate queen- I also just think Lucy is a super fun character that I wanted to incorporate here. 

Those are about all the added things/changes - the rest basically just follows the same points of the plot :0 

If I’m completely honest, I probably won’t do much with this I just had an idea and wanted to share it :))

Europe split over US, UK strikes on Houthis in Yemen - Reuters

Italy, Spain and France stood out on Friday by not taking part in U.S. and British strikes against the Houthi group in Yemen and not signing a statement put out by 10 countries justifying the attacks.

The divergence highlights divisions in the West over how to deal with the Iranian-backed Houthis, who have been targeting civilian ships in the Red Sea for weeks in what they say is a protest against Israel's military campaign in the Gaza Strip.[...]

The Netherlands, Australia, Canada and Bahrain provided logistical and intelligence support for the operation, U.S. officials said.

In addition, Germany, Denmark, New Zealand and South Korea signed a joint statement with these six nations defending the overnight attacks and warning of further action to protect the free flow of Red Sea trade if the Houthis did not back down.[...]

A source in Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's office said Italy had declined to sign the statement and as a result was not asked to participate in the attacks.

However, a government source said Italy had been asked to take part but declined for two reasons -- firstly because any Italian involvement would have needed parliamentary approval, which would have taken time, and secondly because Rome preferred to pursue a "calming" policy in the Red Sea.

Hours later, a government statement added that "Italy supports the operations of allied countries, who have the right to defend their vessels, in the interest of global trade flows and humanitarian assistance."[...]

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a French official said Paris feared that by joining the U.S.-led strikes, it would have lost any leverage it had in talks to defuse tensions between Hezbollah and Israel. Wes, Wes, Wes. Where do I begin? This is Wesley Robles, or Wes for short. He’s 17 years old, a summer baby, and has the Daredevil and Mean traits. He has the Live Fast teen aspiration, and I think all of that really encapsulates who he is as a teenager. Like Haven, Wes's heritage originates from Selvadorada, though he was born and raised in Oasis Springs. At six, his family dropped him off at a sleepover on their way to the airport. A friend of his father’s was getting married back home, and his parents and older siblings were going to attend the wedding, though younger kids like Wes weren’t allowed. They never returned. Their plane unfortunately crashed on its way back from Selvadorada.

Prior to the crash, Wes was always seen as a good kid. He developed his troublemaker reputation shortly after, though, and he subsequently never settled into a permanent home. He often clashed with foster parents and never wanted to get too close to them. Fed up with life as he knew it, he ran away from his then-home at 15 and had to learn how to survive on the streets. He met Haven shortly after; they became fast friends. For a while, he had a thing for her, and while he still thinks she’s pretty, he knows now that Haven is the very definition of a girls’ girl.

Wes is back in foster care now, much to his chagrin. He got off without a juvie sentence by promising that he would stop running away. Still, the only thing that is preventing him from bolting from this new household is the fact that he’s not alone this time—he has Haven. And for now, that will have to do.

Overlooked No More: Ángela Ruiz Robles, Inventor of an Early E-Reader

Long before Kindles and iPads became popular, Ruiz Robles, a teacher, created her Mechanical Encyclopedia to help lighten her students’ textbook load.

More than 60 years before Kindles, Nooks, iPads and other electronic devices revolutionized reading, there was a gadget invented in a village in Spain that had the potential to do the same.

The Enciclopedia Mecanica, or Mechanical Encyclopedia, as it was known, was not the brainchild of a multinational corporation like Apple or Amazon; it was invented in 1948 by Ángela Ruiz Robles, a widowed teacher who wanted to make learning easier for her students and her three daughters.

Her invention, a pale green box about the size of a textbook with an intricate interior, allowed a user to read words in any language and on any topic. It was intended to lighten a student’s book load. Today it is seen by many as an analog ancestor of the e-reader.

“What she invented carried on into the future,” her grandson Daniel Gonzalez de la Rivera said by phone from his home in Madrid.

He added, “Each time I see one I am reminded of my grandmother.”

Vin has dislocated her shoulder in the process of trying to lick her own elbow. Twice.

When she was a kid, Vin had dreams of eventually moving to the city and becoming a radio star. Her mom pretty much shamed her out of this one. Some shit to do with abandoning the family and how wasteful and detrimental to the environment city people were.

Vin's got a couple of half-siblings running around somewhere that she doesn't know about. Same mom, different fathers. Her mom wound up settling down with Marok because he made her laugh. Like, on a regular basis. Not like that plot hook from The Golden Goose where the king gives his daughter away to the first guy to make her laugh. That would've just been dumb.

Three Things Your Character Likes Doing in Their Free Time:

Skipping rocks. Not constructive, but it kills time and she thinks it's relaxing.

Crochet. She learned it from Nena. She also finds this relaxing.

Tinkering. Mostly with her guns. Mostly so she can see how ridiculous she can make them. It's the closest thing she has to amusement that isn't just tatering out on the couch, playing video games.

Kicking her little brother into the watering hole that one time. It was funny when she did it but it definitely added to the permanent chip on his shoulder.

Agreeing to go on the supply run that landed her on Sigma Rhada. Sure, she might not have met Ardaka if she hadn't gone. Or maybe she would have, just later on. Whatever the case, she couldn't have known what she was missing and she really wishes she had the cash to get back to her family already. Space travel is eye-wateringly expensive, even the cheap seats.

Accepting that first sweater from Nena. The Alpha Sweater. The beginning of the deluge. She has more sweaters than god and there's no sign of it stopping. There's no reason to even have a sweater in Neo Shousis but somehow Vin has thirty.

Two Phobias Your Character Has:

Fire. Kind of a gimme if you grew up in a village made completely of wood, with wooden foundations, at least a thousand feet off of the ground.

Being snatched off of the street. It's happened once already and she's a little bit paranoid that it'll happen again. Unrelated: Be sure to ask her about her pepper spray collection.

QUEEN BEE CHALLENGE per The Sims 4 Ho trovato la versione inglese della mia sfida preferita adattata per The Sims 4!

Quindi l'ho tradotta in italiano, e, dato che la sto giocando, ha aggiunto delle migliorie e rifinito le regole, che a tratti erano poche e poco chiare.

Ci tengo a ricordarvi che la sfida è stata creata originariamente da tacos4sims (Queen Bee Challenge per The Sims 2) e adattata da Micemsims (Queen Bee Challenge per The Sims 4).

Se volete tentarla, non posso che augurarvi un buon divertimento!

LA SFIDA

Lo scopo è di popolare la vostra nuova partita/alveare allevando 60 bambini/api con 10 diversi uomini/api operaie.

PRIMA DI COMINCIARE

- Create un nuovo salvataggio.

- Trasferite almeno 10 sim maschi nelle varie case dello scenario. Possono essere townie generati dal gioco, sim dalla galleria, o townie che create voi stessi.

COMINCIARE LA SFIDA

- Create una giovane adulta femmina nel CAS, che sarà chiamata Ape Regina. Può avere qualsiasi aspirazione e tratto che volete.

- Trasferitela in un lotto che sia almeno 50x40 Ecco l'elenco dei lotti:

REGOLE

- La vostra Ape Regina deve far trasferire in casa con sé un sim maschio, preferibilmente il prima possibile.

- I due non possono sposarsi né fidanzarsi. L'uomo può solo coabitare. Può comunque aiutare a predersi cura dei bambini, trovarsi un lavoro ecc.

- I due sim avranno sei figli insieme. Quando il sesto figlio diventa neonato, l'uomo deve trasferirsi in una nuova casa e prendere con sé tutti i suoi 6 figli. A questo punto, l'Ape Regina deve far traferire da sé un altro fuco ed avere assieme ad esso altri 6 figli, e così via.

- Non potete giocare coi futuri fuchi prima che si trasferiscano a casa dell'Ape Regina.

- Niente matrimoni né fidanzamenti finché la vostra Ape Regina non ha partorito tutti i 60 figli/api.

- I fuchi e i figli non possono trasferirsi, avere figli né sposarsi con nessun altro prima di essere andati ad abitare fuori dalla casa dell'Ape Regina. Allo stesso modo, nessuno può trasferirsi nell'unità familiare dell'Ape Regina, se non il nuovo fuco quando il precedente ha terminato il suo "lavoro" ed è stato trasferito.

- La Pozione della Giovinezza e l'Essenza di Vita dalla pianta mucca sono permesse, anzi sono indispensabili per completare la sfida: perfino nell'eventualità che aveste 30 paia di gemelli, ogni gravidanza dura 3 giorni.

- Non si può usare il premio "Fertile" per nessuno dei due genitori, né il tratto del lotto "Su una linea temporale" né alcun altro stratagemma per forzare parti gemellari/trigemellari. Se avvengono, devono essere "spontanei".

- Vietato l'uso di cheat e/o hack che possano facilitare il gioco (per esempio, aumentare i fondi di famiglia, migliorare i bisogni ecc.).

FACILITAZIONI

- I neonati possono passare alla fase di vita successiva quando scadono le 48 ore dopo il parto (cioè quando appare il messagio che è il compleanno del bebè)

- Lattanti possono passare di età una volta ottenute 3 pietre miliari di ogni categoria

• Motricità basilare

• Motricità fine

• Prime volte

• Vita (sono solo due ovvero quello della nascita)

• Sociale

- I bebè possono passare alla fase di vita successiva se hanno massimizzato, cioè portato a livello 5, almeno un'abilità.

- I bambini possono passare alla fase di vita successiva se hanno completato la loro aspirazione e se hanno il 10 in pagella.

TERMINARE LA SFIDA

La sfida è completata quando il sessantesimo figlio dell'Ape Regina diventa neonato, e la decima famiglia si trasferisce fuori dall'unita familiare dell'Ape Regina.

Se l'Ape Regina diventa anziana prima di aver partorito il sessantesimo figlio, la sfida è da considerarsi fallita. La sfida fallisce anche nel caso in cui l'Ape Regina o il fuco attuale muoiano prima che l'Ape Regina abbia partorito il sessantesimo figlio.

IMPOSTAZIONI DI GIOCO

Prima di cominciare a giocare, nelle opzioni della modalità di gioco impostate le opzioni di gioco come segue:

- Autonomia: Totale

- Passaggio di età automatico (Sim usati in gioco): Solo unità familiare attiva
