A Thomas Keller Restaurant Group exclusive no more. Healdsburg Beer Company releases Belgian Pale to the masses.
Tumblr media
Press Release
April 3, 2024, Healdsburg Calif. -- Healdsburg Beer Company (HBC) is proud to announce the release of Belgian Pale, a crisp, medium-bodied ale originally made as a house beer for the world-famous Thomas Keller Restaurant Group, which includes The French Laundry, Per Se, Bouchon, Ad Hoc, something like a million Michelin Stars, and the greatest cookbook series the HBC staff has ever read.
With the Belgian yeast character of stone fruits and peppercorns, Belgian Pale is crisp and dry with an unmistakable old-world character and a floral aroma. This is a very flavorful but approachable, easy-drinking, and unmistakably Belgian-style ale.
IBU 28  Grains: 2-Row Barley, Munich, and Wheat malts  Hops: Chinook, Amarillo  Yeast: Proprietary House Belgian Strain
“We’re thrilled to finally release this to the public,” said HBC Founder Kevin McGee. “Originally created as ‘The White Apron’ to meet the specific needs of a house beer at one of the best restaurant groups in the world, it is an understatement to say that we’re proud of this beer.”
Balance and drinkability are hallmarks of all HBC beers, which are crafted to be nuanced and compelling yet sessionable. Based in northern California and surrounded by some of the world's finest artisan purveyors and restaurants, the interaction between beer and food is always top of mind at HBC. All HBC beers are purposefully crafted to compliment a broad range of cuisines, but perhaps none so notably or with as much provenance as the Belgian Pale.
Belgian Pale is now available throughout California and at select retailers across the US. Find it near you at healdsburgbeerco.com/where-to-buy.
About Healdsburg Beer Company
Healdsburg Beer Company started in a residential garage at a time when that kind of thing wasn’t happening. Upon learning that the common wisdom in homebrewing circles was that it wasn’t possible to license and bond a super-small scale brewery, founder Kevin McGee took it as something of a dare. Putting his law degree to good use, Kevin legally licensed and bonded his garage as “The Healdsburg Beer Company”, and unknowingly became one of the first of what would later be called “nano-breweries.” In December of 2019, the McGee family purchased Craft Beer legend Anderson Valley Brewing Company (AVBC) with Kevin as President and CEO. Working with the All-Star brewing team at AVBC, the original recipes for Healdsburg Beer
Company beers were scaled up for AVBC’s Bavarian copper brewhouse. Now as a sister brewery to AVBC, Healdsburg Beer Company is delighted to be able to bring their beers to a wider audience than ever before. Learn more at healdsburgbeerco.com

A fan-favorite, Stone Brewing Company announces the return of Sublimely Self-Righteous Black IPA
Tumblr media
Press Release
Escondido, CA ... Stone Brewing announces the release of the coveted Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Black IPA, the brewery’s #1 most fan-requested beer of all time. This hop-heavy IPA is brewed with dark malt so that it pours black with a surprising punch of bitterness balanced by smooth malty character.
A trick to the taste buds, Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Black IPA features unmistakable piney and orange-raspberry hop character perfectly complemented by warm notes of coffee and chocolate. On the nose – aromas of coffee, black currant and chocolate from the malt, layered with pine, citrus and tropical fruit. As its name implies, it pours black with a light tan head but don’t be deceived! It serves up an IPA-worthy dose of bitterness. It is as unique in style as it is memorable flavor.
Stone’s persistent troop of mighty fans revived this 2007 favorite. A short scroll through Stone’s Instagram confirms the sheer volume of “BRING BACK SSR” comments. After a special release return in 2021, Stone agrees it’s time to say “OK” once more.
“IPAs are kind of our thing, so we love any opportunity to showcase the variety of IPAs out there,” stated Jeremy Moynier, Stone Sr. Manager of Brewing & Innovation. “Black IPAs aren’t new, but they’re still pretty hard to come by. When people experience this beer for the first time it’s like they can’t grasp how something with such distinct piney hop flavor pours so dark, but the coffee and chocolate notes complement amazingly. Our fans can’t seem to get enough of this beer, so we’ve gone ahead and brewed them some more, but only for another short run!”   For those craving 12 ounces of nostalgia and those simply seeking the remarkable, Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Black IPA is now available nationwide in 12oz six-pack cans and draft for a limited time. Find it using the Beer Finder at find.stonebrewing.com or order online in select states at shop.stonbrewing.com.

Seattle brewery Cloudburst Brewing indoctrinates a new generation of imbibers with a line of "Fuck AB-Inbev" newborn and toddler apparel.
Located just minutes from the Pike Place Market lies the city’s only “James Beard” Award nominated brewery, Cloudburst Brewing. Known mostly for their award-winning IPAs, the brewery’s approach remains focussed on releasing unfiltered ales and lagers. Accompanying their beers, seemingly in lock-step with their approach to beer clarity, the brewery’s beer names are so random you’d think AI generated them. One only has to look at their Instagram to review the many names thought up by founding brewer and owner Steve Luke. Quick to jump in, a smiling Luke would opine they don’t take themselves seriously. Today, the brewery is pleased to announce a new line of newborn and toddler apparel. Moniker'd with the phrase “FUCK AB-INBEV”, supporters of Cloudburst now have a way to share their support for mothers of fathers who drink beer. When reached for comment, owner Steve Luke recognizes the clout of large breweries, like A-B/Inbev, towards up-and-coming imbibers. Which is why they are taking the grass-roots approach towards corporate beer. "We know that the ability to hate is so much more nurture than  nature, so we figured - get that anti big beer mentality at them as young as possible!"  It’s all part of a philosophy that is the antithesis of breweries, like Anheuser-Busch’s corporate approach to producing beer. For those not in the know, the shirt he (Luke) wore in 2018 at the Great American Beer Festival awards in Denver (Colorado) inspired this new line of clothing. Back then, the shirt was a very public statement on his reaction to Anheuser-Busch purchasing his former employer, Elysian Brewing Company, and other indie breweries.  Which makes this announcement on brand with how Steve and the rest of the Cloudburst Brewing crew have carried themselves.  Releasing April 1st and available in multiple sizes, parents can purchase onesies in pink or blue. Or for toddlers, you can purchase a t-shirt, also in pink or blue. Those interested can reach out to the brewery via their social media (@cloudburstbrew) or their website.  from Northwest Beer Guide - News - The Northwest Beer Guide https://bit.ly/3xsIDBd

The antithesis of their last Project X Series release Mother Earth Brewing releases Metamorphosis Hazy IPA
Press Release Vista, CA & Nampa, ID – March 7th, 2024. Mother Earth is adding another stellar release to  its lineup of rotating Hazy IPAs. The latest Project X Series brew follows the series’ trend of  keeping the malt bill somewhat minimal and instead focusing on hop combinations to achieve  complex flavors and aroma. The most recent example being Metamorphosis, which pairs a  celebrity hop trio of Citra, Mosaic, and Strata.  Having erred toward the sweet fruit and coconut flavors of their last Project X Series release,  Mother Earth’s brewers decided to swing the pendulum, calling for more traditional IPA flavors  with Metamorphosis. Mosaic and Citra hops leave passionfruit and strawberries on the nose,  while Strata punches up with flavors of dank marijuana and citrus. A heavy wheat addition and  dextrin malt add a hefty body for support.  The smooth finish of Metamorphosis masks a respectable 50 IBUs in a style typically known for  bittering units in the teens, something Mother Earth is quite proud of.  “There was a time where clean IPAs and NEIPAs were divergent styles, but I think as west-coast  brewers started pushing the bitterness envelope, as we tend to do, we’ve reached a nice balance  where there is something enjoyable for every kind of hophead.”  -Chris Baker – Director of Brewing Operations, Mother Earth Brew Co.  The beer itself is only half the experience, though, with collaborative label artwork adorning the  cover from the creative mind of Spanish artist Jose Morilla, or as the Instagram world knows  him, @livinginplanetmars. Jose’s spacey, digital stylings don’t just allude to what can be found  inside the can; they set the table.   Metamorphosis is available beginning this month on draft and in 16oz cans. Customers can find  it using Mother Earth’s beer finder at findmotherearthbrewing.com or at one of Mother Earth’s  tap rooms.  # # #  About Mother Earth  Mother Earth Brew Co. develops hand crafted artisanal ales in year-round, as well as seasonal and specialty offerings. With multi-state as well as  international distribution serviced by breweries in Vista, CA and Nampa, ID; Mother Earth’s award-winning beers help define and maintain the  standard of excellence expected of independent craft brewers.  from Northwest Beer Guide - News - The Northwest Beer Guide https://bit.ly/43h8ece

Breweries and taphouses all around Bellingham will be celebrating our city’s vibrant craft beer culture with a week of creative events and beer releases, leading up to the grand finale of Bellingham’s biggest beer festival- April Brews Day! For the last decade, Bellingham Beer Week has been an annual celebration of the creative and unique beer scene in Bellingham, making our city a destination for beer drinkers across the Pacific Northwest.  This year, Bellingham Beer Week was planned by 15 of the breweries in Bellingham gathering together to get organized. So organized, in fact, that not only did we plan Bellingham Beer Week, but we also created an organizing committee for our beer community - Bellingham Beer Alliance. The BBA will be planning and promoting BBW, and will also be looking for other opportunities to continue to celebrate and grow the reach of Bellingham beer through other events and collaborations throughout the year.  “We’re all really excited about the potential of the Bellingham Beer Alliance. Planning for Bellingham Beer Week has certainly been our first priority, but we also can’t help but look forward to other event possibilities throughout the year, like an Oktoberfest or a Winter Beer Festival in Bellingham. We’re looking forward to being able to apply for grant money, and continuing on the momentum of Bellingham Beer Week.” - Emily Mallos, Communications Lead.  This April, breweries and taphouses all across Bellingham will be holding beer-centric events every day for the 11 days of BBW.
