I've seen a few posts on my dash about the idea of Amy's attempt to fix Surge only resulting in Surge somehow making her worse (aka corrupting her), and I feel there could be potential behind that scenario. What about you?

🙏 OKOK so I've seen a couple & i absolutely love the idea I won't even lie

(hc) but i very much think of Amy as stubbornly good and firm in her beliefs (shes based herself all on heroism, esp with the resistance and all 😭). Surge would definitely struggle to change Amy for the worse; especially since i consider Surge to be the weaker one of the two when it comes to morals and alike.

I personally dig the hc scenario where Surge is slowly melting away her anger and hatred (w/ Amy being doting and patient SLOW BURN 100K WORDS 30+ CHAPS until they inevitably hold hands) but this is more wishful thinking, i definitely see the canon panning out with them hating each other (especially after the whole forest fire)

+ the panel from the recent IDW issue where Amy is like we aren't forcing you to be part of the resistance or anything and Surge is like 'huh 🤔' IDK IDK i think Surge cracks first

HOWEVER, Amy letting loose and being a delinquent of sorts after giving up 'fixing' Surge, is something i would love to see for the fun of it.

It might be super ooc but imagine Amy just becomes tired of being a hero and cracks THEN decides the next best thing now is fighting random bots or ppls w/ Surge 😭 and the resistance is just like wtf 😭 LMAO (also imagine a tag team surge / amy vs sonic, it will never happen but it's both funny and interesting to think about)

Regardless, there's a bunch of potential dynamics with this. I'm liking the dynamic Surge brings w/ the resistance (like Whisper and her, it's so good especially if we mix in Tangle) (consider: whispangle jump surge) THERE'S so much potential for fights, connections, verbal arguments... the drama is crazy.

Sorry, this is a bit long. But thank you for the ask, i really hope the canon timeline will give us more of their dynamic 🙏

(TLDR: i do believe corrupt amy has potential, but i personally lean towards redemption surge 🙏)

Manabu left his home out of selfishness? May I remind everyone of episode 9 where Manabu said this:

He left his home (and joined MIK) to find and save Bochi who used to be his only friend back when he was little - the only one who would make Manabu smile and give him some solace after his family just put him through hard training. There's not a single hint of Manabu's family having been loving or appreciating him. All we got was them disliking him spending time with a dog and then sending him away for a year for more training. But sure, Manabu was sooo selfish for leaving his home when he only did it for the sake of a friend.

Let's be honest, Manabu would've still stayed with his family and endured their harsh treatment if Bochi hadn't left him due to a misunderstanding.

Btw: This whole thing with the Sogetsu's buying some fish as Manabu's replacement is the dumbest thing I've seen in a while. If they really wanted someone else as the heir, couldn't they just find someone within the family? Why a fish of all possible choices?? Or is this just the Sogetsu's way of sort of manipulating Manabu to go back to them by making him believe a tuna replaced him? Pretty shitty move then.

Also: Is the Sogetsu buying Maguto the current head of the family? Is he Manabu's dad? And he has two servants who are likely Nanahoshi's and based on Ranze and Rinnosuke. Which raises the question why Ranran can just do what she wants and isn't bound to the duties of serving the Sogetsu's while Manabu gets so much flack for pursuing a different path than what his family wants. (and even if Ranran was from Nanaho's branch aka the one against the Sogetsu's, wouldn't she still be expected at home as the heir instead of working with MIK? Don't tell me they might explain this by Ranran having some older brother who is the Rinnosuke counterpart and can deal with everything so she's free to choose a different job)

Last year Ian Flynn said that Sega gave him an answer on Silver's time travel. So it might get explained in the next two issues but if it was said at that point then it seems they really are going with the involuntary time travel.

Any explanation is better than none, though with the comics it is clear previously-established things can change on a dime... Silver's involuntary time travel directly contradicts earlier issues from the Metal Madness (is that Beeg Metal Sonic's name? I can never remember) saga, after all. I do however feel that the proposed setting of the coming two issues does not entirely lend itself to deep dives into Silver's time travel, considering the whole Silver Is Going To Accuse Duo/Mimic Of Sussiness While Being Cringefail (And No-one Will Listen To Him) plot that the two solicitations tell us is going to happen. I'm not sure how any deep, actual exploration of Silver's time travel abilities fit in there, assuming they will give us something more substantial than the two or three throwaway lines we've had about that topic so far. Though on the other hand, since the solicit for #64 also says "Then, Blaze comforts Silver as they bond over being away from home and in Sonic's world.", maybe they could talk about it there?

Honestly, I just want answers, and then preferably something that also makes the tiniest bit of sense. I don't like the idea that Silver cannot control his time travel, but I can make more peace with it if we have any idea how it works and what does control it.

#the reason I know no-one will listen to Silver? Duo is on the cover of later issues (specifically 67) with Mimic's brown eyes #sorry but I am not feeling particularly excited about the upcoming issues with Silver in a starring role #the solicits literally say it is going to be terribly awkward and I worry they're going to be making Silver a massive unlikeable dumbass #and then not even reasonably so! he's got *no* reason being so star-struck by Whisper since he is *tons* more powerful than she is #and the entire idea of there being a 'traitor' that Silver tries to expose feels like a complete rehash from Archie #and I can't stand that particular plot and *especially* not the jerkass way with which Sonic dealt with it #but I digress and we shall see😅 There is always the chance it'll turn out much better than I am expecting‚ of course!#silver the hedgehog

do you yet know whether you won at accountancy? I have the impression that the exams are over, and that the bit in which the ranked list gets posted on the senate gate is a little quicker these days, but I may of course be wrong...

I did an exceedingly mediocre job at accountancy, but that works for my purposes (getting a passing grade in the class so I can get a minor). The exam period formally ends in a couple more days and then the final grades are due at i think the end of next week, so I won't find out officially what I got until then, but asit all stands I should wind up with an 87 overall grade (mostly brought down by my abysmal final exam which i took with a terrible migraine and got a full 67/100 on lol)

my exams are indeed all over, but only because my professors were nice enough to give all of them on a day that exams technically wern't even meant to be administered so I could get them done faster

#i have GOT to talk to my doctor about getting some kind of on-record migraine dx because this is not the first itme #that i've had a headache so bad i was at halved-or-lesser functionality on the same day as a major exam #which then brought my grade down by minimum 20 pts because i couldn't read #red rambles #both my business law final (64/100) and my accounting final (67/100) were on a medium headache day. my stats midterm from last #semester was uhhh i have to look it up but my headache then was so bad i very literally could not read or process numbers. i got by #entirely on pattern recognition and scored something like uhhh #okay i looked and that was a 42 #notable because before and after that every exam i got i scored an 85 or above and it dragged my final grade down super hard #and i mentioned that this keeps happening on my way home (bc they're light sensitive and studying for long hours makes them happen more)#and my dad was like. well didn't you tell your prof and ask to retake it? (not allowed without accomodations) well you should get #some kind of accomodations then (i have not successfully gotten accomodations for the shit i *DO* have diagnosed. they're not going to #just let me say i have bad headaches and give me slack for that)#ah. whatever. i'll deal with it in some way or another or more likely i will just continue powering through because i only have one year le #left #red replies #jariktig #schooling is a trial and a struggle and i hates it so much #but the accounting class is dead now and i'm not. so i still win.
