The #Quran 07:128 (Surah al-A’raf)
Said Moses to his people, "Seek help through Allah and be patient. Indeed, the earth belongs to Allah . He causes to inherit it whom He wills of His servants. And the [best] outcome is for the righteous."

March 23, 2024 - Saturday  | Ramadan Challenge 13/30
Day 12: Most challenging thing about Ramadan and how do you try to overcome it?
Nowadays it’s actually fasting that’s the challenge. Subhanallah in the past it used to be trying to do all the stuff on my list lol I try to overcome it by keeping myself on a schedule and taking it easy when I’m not feeling well.
Day 13: What aspects of the qur'anic science have you explored:
I absolutely love tafsir. As a writing/literature teacher, analyzing meaning in between the lines is literally the funnest thing for me and that’s what tafsir is. Honestly when I first introduce literary analysis to my students, I tell them we are basically doing tafsir of the books lol
I love qur’an memorization too and I definitely want to focus more on memorization these days. It’s actually so much fun for me and my silly little productivity obsessed self I soooo looove trackable progress and improving and increasing and it’s the best feeling to encounter memorized ayahs in recitation/ a lecture etc

Allah calls Himself Ar-Rabb— The Lord, the Master— on more than 900 occasions in the Quran. Ar-Rabb is the only one who truly takes care of the whole creation, nourishing it in the most perfect way. He is the one who created us, who sustains us, who fosters and regulates all beings from the earliest state to that of the highest perfection!
The Lord, the Master, the Creator and Nurturer
Rabb comes from the root raa-baa-baa, which points to three main meanings. The first main meaning is to be lord, owner, or master. The second main meaning is to take care of, nourish, sustain, and provide for, and the third is to raise or bring up.
This root appears 980 times in the Quran in four derived forms. Examples of these forms are rabbee (“my Lord”), al rabaaniyoona (“the Rabbis”), and ribbiyyoona (“religious scholars”).
Linguistically, Rabb is a term used for the owner (maalik), the master (as-sayyid), the one who takes care of, sustains, nourishes (al-qayyoom), and provides or takes care of everything (ar-razzaaq). [Lisan al-Arab by ibn Mandhoor].
The word tarbiyyah is also derived from the same root, and it means to take care of. It is often used to indicate how we bring up and nurture our children.
Rabb is also used with an adjective to refer to people, indicating the “master” or the one who is obeyed, for example rabb ud daar— the master of the house. Only Allah is Ar-Rabb; He is the true and complete owner of everything in existence and the only one who takes care, nourishes, and fosters everything that exists through every stage of existence.
Ar-Rabb Himself says: . . . [All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds [Quran, 1:2] . . .And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority . . . [Quran, 2:30] and . . . At that, Zechariah called upon his Lord, saying, My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication. [Quran, 3:38]
The Tawheed of Lordship
One of the types of tawheed a true Muslim should believe in and live by is tawheed ar-ruboobiyyah, the Oneness of Allah’s Lordship. This means that you affirm Allah is one and unique in His actions. Examples are creation, controlling affairs, provision, giving life and death, and sending down rain. It is firmly believing that only Allah nourishes and sustains and that no other being can do the things Allah ‘azza wa jall does.
For example the Mushrikeen among whom the Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam was sent did not disagree with this type of tawheed; they affirmed it in general terms. Allah Ar-Rabb says: And indeed if you ask them: Who has created the heavens and the earth? They will surely say: The All-Mighty, the All-Knower created them. [Quran, 43:9] However they did not affirm tawheed of worship and divinity (tawheed ul uloohiyyah), and worshipped idols.
Only affirming the Lordship of Allah is not sufficient for someone to be a true Muslim; you must also affirm what is implied by this— the oneness of the divinity of Allah— and thus devote your worship to Allah alone!
How Can You Live By This Name?
1. Feel it when you say “Rabb-il-‘Alameen.”
In your five prayers, you recite surah Al-Fatiha seventeen times a day, and which ayah do you recite as part of this opening surah? Alhamdulillahi Rabb-il-‘Alameen– All praise and thanks are to the Lord of the Worlds. Next time you say this, feel the greatness of your Rabb and imagine He is not only the Rabb of the world of humans, but also the Rabb of the angels, jinns, and all the galaxies, and He takes care of everything in existence 24/7. Let this increase your love, fear and hope in Him each time you say “Rabb-il-‘Alameen!”
Did you also notice that in each prayer, in each rukoo’, you say ‘subhana rabbiyal-‘adheem’ and in each sujood ‘subhana rabbiyal-‘alaa’? Each time you say these beautiful phrases of remembrance, truly remember that Allah is your Rabb. Each prayer is filled with this beautiful name!
2. Live by tawheed ar-ruboobiyyah.
Realize what tawheed ur-ruboobiyyah means in your daily life and really live by the fact only Allah is your Lord, Provider, and Sustainer. How many times do we turn to other people instead of Allah for our needs, when we have to make certain decisions? So when you or others are in ill health or afraid to sacrifice in the path of Allah, know that only Ar-Rabb can give life and death. When you are worried and distressed, know that only Ar-Rabb can bring benefit and ward off harm, and when you need something, know that only He answers prayers.
3. Use the “Rabbanaa” supplications from the Quran.
The most comprehensive and beautiful supplications can be found in the Quran and Sunnah, made by the prophets, messengers and pious before us. In the Quran you can find a selection of supplications starting with Rabbanaa, our Lord, or Rabbee, my Lord.
Use them in your daily life and memorize these Quranic dua which cover a wide range of topics. You can read and listen to them here.
A beautiful example is the supplication to make for the parents: And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, “My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small.” [Quran, 17:24]
4. Trust in your Lord.
Know that Ar-Rabb takes care of you in all situations and trust in all His actions because they are good for you. Take inspiration from this beautiful ayah: [Moses] said, “No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me. [Quran, 26:62]
Wallahu ta’alaa ‘alem.
O Allah, Ar-Rabb, we know that You are our Lord, Master and Sustainer. Adorn us with a firm belief in and acting upon the Oneness of Your Lordship and aid us to call upon You in the best ways, described in Your Book and the sunnah of the Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. Beautify us with trust in You and contentment with all of Your actions, ameen!

23 March 2024, Saturday
Miraculously feeling a lot less blue and more of other colors today, alhamdulillah! Also, I’m forever a take photos of sunset girl.
Day 13: What aspects of the qur'anic science have you explored, and how did that go? (e.g tafsir, translation, memorization, tajweed, recitation)
I use a Quran with word by word translation as well as full ayah translations and it’s a game changer. As someone that doesn’t know Quranic arabic it’s sooo nice to actually understand what you’re reciting in real time. When I was little I memorized the shorter surahs of chapter 30 and though it’s been a personal goal recently to memorize more, I just haven’t been able to make it a priority (sadly). I definitely ain’t giving up though, sooner or later in sha Allah I wish to memorize chapter 30 entirely.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Surah Al-Ra’d Ayah 30
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
13:30 Thus have We sent you to a community before whom other communities have passed away, in order that you might recite unto them what We have revealed to you, while they disbelieve in the Most Gracious (Allah).
Say: "He is my Lord! None has the right to be worshipped but He! In Him is my trust, and to Him I turn.''
Our Prophet was sent to recite and call to Allah's Revelation
Allah says,
Thus have We sent you to a community before whom other communities have passed away,
Allah says, `Just as We sent you, O Muhammad, to your Ummah,
...in order that you might recite unto them what We have revealed to you,
so that you deliver to them Allah's Message. Likewise, We sent others to earlier nations that disbelieved in Allah. The Messengers whom We sent before you, were also denied and rejected, so you have an example in what they faced. And since We sent Our torment and revenge on those people, then let these people fear what will strike them, for their denial of you is harsher than the denial that the previous Messengers faced,'
By Allah, We indeed sent (Messengers) to the nations before you. (16-63)
Allah said in another Ayah,
Verily, many Messengers were denied before you, with patience they bore the denial and suffering until; till Our help reached them, and none can alter the Words (decree) of Allah. Surely, there has reached you the information (news) about the Messengers (before you). (6-34),
meaning, `How We gave them victory and granted the best end for them and their followers in this life and the Hereafter. '
Allah said next,
while they disbelieve in the Most Gracious (Allah).
Allah says, `These people, that We sent you to, disbelieve in the Most Gracious and deny Him, because they dislike describing Allah by Ar- Rahman, Ar-Rahim (the Most Gracious, Most Merciful).'
This is why on the day of Al-Hudaybiyyah, as Al- Bukhari narrated, they refused to write, "In the
Name of Allah, Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim,'' saying, "We do not know Ar-Rahman, Ar-Rahim!''
Qatadah narrated this words. Allah the Exalted said,
Say: "Invoke Allah or invoke the Most Gracious (Allah), by whatever name you invoke Him, for to Him belong the Best Names. (17:110)
In his Sahih, Imam Muslim recorded that Abdullah bin Umar said that the Messenger of Allah said,
The most beloved names to Allah the Exalted are:
• Abdullah and
• Abdur-Rahman.
Allah said next,
Say: "He is my Lord! None has the right to be worshipped but He!''
meaning: for I believe in Allah in Whom you disbelieve and affirm His Divinity and Lordship. He is my Lord, there is no deity worthy of worship except Him,
In Him is my trust,
in all of my affairs,
and to Him I turn.
meaning: to Him I return and repent, for He alone is worthy of all this and none else besides Him.

(I'm posting a bunch of questions all together I'm sorry I had my exams and forgot to post 😭)
Day 3: What type of worship comes the easiest to you?
It is such a great question. I think initially I wanted to answer reading Qur'an, because it brings so much peace to my heart, I love doing it. But also making dua is an act of ibadah too, talking to Allāh is also an act of worship, but I remember reading that anything you do with good intentions in your heart is an act of worship.
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Verily, the people will only be raised for judgment based on their intentions.” (Sunan Ibn Mājah 4229)
& Abdullah ibn Amr, RadhiAllahu Anhu, reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
Those who are merciful will be shown mercy by the Merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth and the One above the heavens will have mercy upon you. (Sunan al-Tirmidhī 1924)
& it literally means be kind to the creations of Allāh and your Creator will be kind to you and I find that so beautiful like you could literally smile at the person you saw on the street, ask the cashier how her day went, lend a pen to your friend and it'll count as a good deed I mean how easy is that? Indeed Allāh Subhanahu wa ta'ala is the most merciful. So yeah I try my best to be kind to others with good intentions and I find it the easiest.
Day 4: Ramadan is the month of the qur'an. What is an ayah from the Qur'an that has changed your view of things or impacted you deeply?
There are so many actually, I don't think anyone can narrow it down to only one, but the one that impacted me the most is definitely:
Your Lord has not abandoned you, nor has He become hateful ˹of you˺. ~93:03
At that time I was confused between the punishment of Allāh and trials and I thought I'm being punished by Allāh but then my Father clarified it for me and just after that I read that verse and broke down into tears. Subhanallah. And also:
So join My (honored) servants,
And enter My Paradise. ~90:29, 90:30
I read that and just felt so emotional, from that day I just pray that on the Day of Judgement may Allāh say those words to me, to all of us.
Day 5: Share a memory of Ramadan from your childhood or when you first embraced Islam.
This is not something I'm very proud of but when I was very little like 4 or 5 I used to want to fast and would make my mother wake me up for suhoor and all, even though everyone told me that I was too little, I was so adamant I wouldn't listen and could barely do it, at that time my Grandmother would always go to market for iftar run, I used to go with her and I'd become so tired she would ask "You'd like to eat something we'll keep it a secret?" And then I'd break my fast, return to my home and pretend like I'm still doing it, basically my Grandmother would call my Mother and spill the beans and everyone would pretend that they didn't already know I'm pretending. 😭
Eventually my Mother sat me down and explained that this is not the right thing. I got it, but I still find that acting of all my family members very sweet. 🥹
Day 6: What are some Ramadan traditions you have, and what are some that you'd like to pass on to others?
Family gatherings after taraweeh which sometimes accidentally last till suhoor 👀 I just love them so much, I hate socializing but family gatherings in Ramadan hit different <3
Also sending iftar to relatives and iftar dawats, love hosting them.

30 Tahun
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

People say hurtful things because they themselves have been hurt.
-Haemin Sunmin
Sampai sini aku mulai memahami.

30 Kisah Mempesona (Day 14-Ketika Teriakan Menjadi Lompatan Besar)
By: Ustad Oemar Mita
Abu Ja’far Al-Tahawi
Imam Adz-Dzahabi
Imam Adz-Dzahabi sewaktu kecil tulisannya sangat sulit dibaca.
Maka kata bodoh itulah yg membuat ia semakin semangat belajar hingga akhirnya beliau menjadi seorang ulama besar.
Imam Nawawi
Sewaktu kecil beliau sering sekali ditolak oleh teman-temannya. Oleh karena itu beliau sedih. Namun setiap ia bersedih karena ditolak bermain, ia selalu membaca Al-Qur’an.
Ibnu Abbas (keponakan Rasulullah)
Ia menjadi ulama besar yg mengumpulkan banyak hadist. Bahkan pemuda Anshar yg pernah mencemoohnya, mengakui keberhasilan Ibnu Abbas.
Muhammad bin Abdurrahman al-Auqash
Ia memiliki ibu yg sangat cantik.
