Black Sails Musical Parallels | XVI. XXV.
note: the percussive rhythm in both scenes is part of the Unlikely Tactics parallel.
I spent a year rewatching Black Sails and tracking all the bits of music that repeated at any point during the show, and my findings are reinforcing that Bear McCreary is a genius and this show should have been called 'parallels that will kill you over and over again'* (tag | chronological)

According to the wiki page, Fischl’s alternative outfit’s English localization Ein Immernachtstraum is likely based off of the German title for A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Ein Sommernachtstraum)
—Just like how version 2.8 Summer Fantasia’s title in Chinese 仲夏!幻夜?奇想曲!is partially based off of the Chinese title for the same play, 仲夏夜之梦, along with the Japanese mystery novel 幻夜 (Genya) by Higashino Keigo. (This is the same patch in which detective Heizou was released.) Plus, 奇想曲 refers to a capriccio, which is either a lively piece of music, or a work of mixing together real and imaginary elements, fitting for Xinyan and Fischl…
I’ve talked about it before but one could translate the version title to A Midsummer Night’s Fantastic Capriccio
Or I guess for a slightly looser translation, Midsummer Fantasia or Midsummer Capriccio works too. Hard to get the Genya allusion in without mixing Japanese in there…
Guy with a bird perched on his arm statue that shows up right when Boyce's started a "take it back" argument after they woke up together and Alan had a tantrum about it...
Only thing Alan doesn't take (but wants to) when he's packing to run away with Joanna
*giggling and kicking my heels* they didn't have to do all that :')
