modern briar isn't too different from main. he's still got vision problems, he's still got an intensely complicated and toxic relationship with his mother. he's a musician who's failing eyesight kept him from meeting the expectations of his parents. instead he ends up becoming a music teacher. who teaches others to be passionate about learning and playing music.

still working out some stuff for it. but i love the idea of him trying everything in his power to be independent, and still do what he loves. despite his physical impairments- briar can still play music. he still cares about it. but around when i usually write him ( 30-32 years old ), he plays for himself.

This is my Lorna Dane | Polaris (The Gifted) Verses tag dump and explanation post:

Please read this carefully and fully as there is a lot of detail about some verses and also it is important.

Verses:

Main (divided into two main parts, season 1 and season 2, along with a precanon subverse) [v: main verse is the tag that covers all three of the below tags]:

v: there's nothing noble about struggle (s1) : this tag is for season 1 including canon events, deleted/missing scenes, and misc things that fit best in season 1. It's one third of my main verse tag. Open to all.

v: around here that makes me *royalty* (s2): this tag is for season 2 including canon events, deleted/missing scenes, misc things that fit best in season 2. It's the second third of my main verse tag. Open to all.

sv: it was the start of an age (precanon): this tag is for all the time we don't see in canon, from Lorna's childhood to 7/15 to Lorna's time at Lakeview Mental Hosptial to the time that was spent building the Underground by Lorna and John and the others who were there from the very beginning to recruiting the other key members we see in canon. This the final third of my main verse. Open to all.

v: vtbd : this tag simply means "verse to be decided", basically a holding spot for thread where the verse is undecided at the moment. Open to all.

v: i am edie’s granddaughter; the spitting image of my mother; [the brotherhood’s princess turns into the underground’s leader] (au): this tag is for a darker Lorna/Brotherhood heiress Lorna AU wherein Erik raised Lorna after her mother's and stepfather's deaths, resulting in a slightly darker Lorna who has inherited his ideas, morals, ideals and goals along with sharing his mutation and yet still she ends up in the Mutant Underground somehow, probably for her protection, basically think something along the lines of "Lorna's a mafia princess (who later runs away to help the families of the rival mafia's victims) but the mafia is run by mutants and the rival mafia is the government (*not* the X-Men or the Mutant Underground, they're both more like charities helping the victim's families)" for this au and you'll get the general gist of it, more or less. Open to all.

v: princess of the royal house of m (au) : this tag is for a House of M event au verse. Pretty self-explanatory, right? Note that in this au, Marcos would be her prince consort and Dawn would be a princess in her own right. Open to all House of M characters, including those married into the family (or as good as in some cases [e.g. Marcos]) and the non biologically related to the House of M children of such partners.

v: this love is dangerous (au) : this tag is for a polyship au of Season 2 wherein Lorna, Marcos and Esme end up together as a thruple. Open to all who want to participate.

Helllo!!! In A's route they tell the MC they are their North Star - does that mean that the planet Arsur is on has the same star system as we do? So does that mean Arsur is located on Earth? Just trying to understand the larger Crown-Verse. Thank you <3

Nah, it's just a star that indicates north and fulfills the function of navigation like we have in our universe.

Fun fact, but the north star we have in real life (Polaris) actually became the north star due to the earth's rotation axis very gradually shifting to where it points several millennia ago. It used to point to a different star altogether (Alpha Draconis). In another several thousand years, another star will take Polaris' place to become the new north star (Vega).

Anyways, just like the galaxy Arsur is in has its own constellations, I figured it would make sense for them to utilize a north star for navigation like we do.

That blogger is one of the nastier people in this fandom. I really wouldn’t give their opinions even five seconds of consideration.

I don’t think Louis “speaks Polari” as in, I doubt he could have an entire conversation using that language. But he absolutely knows what it is. It’s idiotic to think someone as well-versed in queer history as he is (evidenced by the bears, among other things) wouldn’t know what Polari is.

Nobody speaks about that account because they’re constantly trolling the fandom trying to make people think they’re connected to Louis and Harry.

Okay I've listened to Lucky again repeatedly, first because it is an absolute bop.. what an aesthetic song! I'm so in love with it and second, because the lyrics are so intriguing to me. They're so beautiful and creates such visuals and images with it. After lots of thoughts, I have come to the conclusion that the 'you' louis is singing about actually just him, his past self. It makes so much sense to me.. "you give and until its gone away" is actually on theme with louis' own' story.. the kind of anxieties he must have felt when he was younger and subjected to the cruelty that happened to him. Feels like his present self is reassuring his past. And the main reason why I think it's about himself is because of the lyrics "I see how hard you've worked to be yourself" and my god has louis done just that. He has always fought and worked to be himself, not just in his career, in wanting to make the music that he likes (which he has been very open about in his interviews) but also on his personal life, in his personality. He was always portrayed in a certain image that was not him and yet he always fought that, him describing himself as flamboyant when they tried to make him look like a laddy lad or whatever, him wearing clothes that are subversive and true to his self like polari and so many others. Him being obviously trained to change his mannerisms but his natural flamboyance just come through when he is on stage, especially during LTWT.. like this is just one aspect of what that lyric means to me and makes sense to me. Along with his music and art which he has worked so hard to be true to himself. This song is definitely about him. He is saying his past self that he got lucky once and fought through his struggles and it's absolutely possible for him to get through this even now (lucky again).

Also Louis has said that he writes songs which could be about something else "dressed up as a love song" which is why I will refrain from reducing Lucky to just being about a relationship or a partner. Obviously I'd like to do a better, in depth analysis, cause I am so fascinated by how layered this song is but these are just my initial and immediate thoughts after listening to it on a loop. Thought I'd share here. Thank you

Hi, anon! Thank you so much for sharing, I love that.

I usually need a little bit of time to really let the lyrics sink in and have an opinion about it, but I'm very inclined to agree with you, actually. I don't think this is a love song (well kind of), I think he's talking about struggles of his career and just life in general, not love life. The beginning really has the same energy of Copy Of and Changes for me - about looking back and being nostalgic and almost giving a piece of advice for his past self that was clearly struggling a lot.

However from the second verse on, he uses "we" and "us" a lot and even "you" and "I" in a way that truly doesn't come across like he's talking about himself in the past / present, there's a subject in the song. Which leads me to this other interpretation here:

And it's funny because I noticed that there's a pattern here between Harry and Louis' songs. The line between work, their life together and struggles of finding their feet as human beings, in general, are very very blurred. See more on my HABIT analysis and MFASR analysis. They go back and forth about their careers and life together as a couple like it's all essentially the same, often still talking about their careers as a unit. And that's incredibly interesting.

As the first anon was saying, I think Louis went through a lot of anxiety at some point and he struggled a lot to find himself again. He talks so much about running out of energy, being lost looking for something, for some kind of "high", he talks about shutting people out, and then about building his confidence again, about being brave, fearless.... And all that struggle affected all the areas of his life, career, love life, everything.

So I do think that being "lucky again" is about just finding himself again. On everything. There's this really nice parallel with Fireproof that I'm obsessed. I think I feel very similarly about the two songs. In Fireproof he was already struggling, desperately trying to find something to hold on to. And eventually, he did. It was someone that got him out of that place, love was always his "way out".

Balenciaga is part of a global child grooming satantic cabal, white women finding zip ties on their car doors at target bc of sex trafficking, etc are just lyrics to the worst potential verse to We Didn’t Start the Fire.

Balenciaga’s latest campaign was in poor taste and edgelord level stupid but it’s not part of a larger shadowy group out to get your kids. It’s just edgy art being presented to the internet with no context or nuance.

If someone had swooped in and analyzed the campaign before this mess and said it was satirizing our pedophilic culture driven by capitalistic nonsense it would have been lauded as high art and forgotten a week later. I am réticent to actually credit Balenciaga with any kind of higher thought behind this shit tho.

The Christian far-right wants us scared of everything and everyone except the people who statistically are most likely to do the most harm: the men in our own lives. I don’t care if this comes off as man-hating misandry, the numbers back it up.

In more than 90% of child sexual abuse cases, the child or family knows the perpetrator.

Trafficking occurs most often to vulnerable populations by perpetrators they trusted.

If you’d like to pop that clown nose off and grow a crumb of media literacy, the Polaris Project offers free training on spotting the actual signs of trafficking. Google is free and people need to start interrogating what they know and how they know it.

What song are you fixated on at the moment? What lyric or verse, and why? "Take Me to Church" by Hozier. I love his music. My favourite lyric is: "No masters or kings when the ritual begins, there is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin. In the madness and soil, of that sad earthly scene, only then I am human. Only then I am clean." It's raw, it's dark and vivid, and it has a level of inhumanity in the words I relate to a lot. There is power in the lyrics, and an implication of love that is not romantic, nor familial, nor platonic, but something more queerplatonic. Which I love and relate to very deeply, as someone not inclined towards romance, sexuality, family, etc. It's rare to see, and Hozier is the KING of that kind of lyricism. Also, the accompaniment is just beautiful and Hozier's singing voice is stunning.

Do you love gargantuan YouTube video essays, and if so, which is your favourite and why? I live for them. My current favourite is Plagiarism and You(Tube) by HBomberguy. I love all his work, as it's so well-researched, witty, and incredibly entertaining. Whether it's about things I know so much about or nothing about, I always love what he does. And that newest video was such a rabbit hole, and very informative.

Tell me about your childhood imaginary friend. I have had many, and to an extent still do. They take the form of characters I like and relate to. I would take a piece of myself that was similar to that character and isolate it, giving me someone who both understood me, and still differed enough to chat with me, debate, give advice, and so forth. I didn't really have imaginary friends until the age of around 11, and they've been a constant ever since, and there are quite a lot of them.

What is your go-to way to fall asleep? With my window open I can hear the sound of rain or snow or rustling wind and watch fog or water drops fly into my room, under a weighted blanket with it bunched up around me like a large hug or spoon. It makes me feel safe.

If you had to change your name, what would it be, and why? (In tandem, if you have changed your name, why did you pick that one?) I have changed my name to Yuri, for a few reasons. One is the connection to my birth country and culture. I may not feel the most connected to it socially but it's still an important part of me. I also quite like the phonetic sound of it. And I may have unintentionally been inspired by several pieces of media I like. This name is common in many cultures, and several of my favourite characters when I was younger shared the name.

What is your favourite of Redacted’s audios, and why? Taking a Chance With a Sadistic Demon. The lore in that video is incredibly satisfying to chew on, Vega's voice is comforting to listen to, his characterization in that video in particular is incredibly dense and nuanced, and so much more. I could talk about Vega all day.

What Redacted boy holds no appeal to you, and why? Like, not the one you hate but the one who you don’t get the hype for. Guy. Guy is a bit too... much for my taste. Too much chaos, too much energy, too much explicitness which I can only handle in VERY specific cases. He seems like a great guy but I got off on the wrong foot with him from his first video and have had no inclination to listen to his series ever since.

Tell me about that one book/movie/TV show you know all the words to. I don't often find myself memorising large chunks of media but I have many singular quotes from different media. A few from The Song of Achilles, from Critical Role's 'Mighty Nein' campaign, and a LOT of songs from musicals. Some of my current favourites are Epic the Musical, Heathers, and Six.

Which Redacted boy are you platonically attracted to? Avior. I love his insights into the world, his curiosity, his carefulness, his care and so forth. I actually liked him more before the romance reveal, though I still find him an amazing character who I would love to befriend. Also, the lore from his series made me love it again.

Do you have a go-to thing you ramble about when you’re tired, and if so, what is it? Not really. I can ramble about any of my interests at any level of energy or time of day.

Tell me your go-to gas station and drink combo. Spicy or Salt and Vinegar chips, fruit mentos, and any sour Ice Sparkling Water.

Tell me about your favourite playlist at the moment. If you mean music, I don't really... do those. But as for Redacted... it's so hard to pick. Sadism's Hold and Invisiboi are both horrifying in the most visceral ways and are always a treat to watch those times that I do. All the lore-heavy ones (Balance, Sovereign State, Project Meridian, Carpe Deus, etc) feed my hunger for lore. Project Meridian was my first series and holds a special place in my heart. Carpe Deus and Kody's playlists are my go-to relaxing playlists because I love their voices, so I listen to them the most often. I cannot give a precise answer.

What’s your guilty pleasure media, and why? I do not have any. I do not see any media I like as 'guilty pleasure' media. I like it, and that's that. I am cringe and I am free.

My favourite colours are brown, black and blue. I'm a digital artist, in University for it, and I do a bit of writing on the side though I have not posted any of it yet. I'm a fan of the night. Of storms. Of clouds blotting out the sun. Of pouring rain and winter's snow, and bike rides down foggy roads. I love learning in general, but especially about art, society and people, and all the subjects related to that. Also, I alluded to it before but I do not feel human. I may be a person, but I am not human, at least socially speaking. I find more connection with the inhuman, like robots, vampires, demons, monsters, or just villains. And I am not unhappy with the separation between myself and the rest of humanity. I have my small set of interests, morals, thoughts and feelings which I may never full be able to articulate or share with others, but I still like to socialize with them regardless. They're lovely, even if confusing and sometimes tiresome.

Interesting. So Type 4w5s are characterized as contemplative, thoughtful, typically introverted people, and it seems like you’d like someone of the same temperament. With that in mind, I think Camelopardalis would be a good match for you.

I’m really intrigued by your feelings of being disconnected to humanity and the fact you don’t seem bothered by that. I like Cam for you because he’d relate to that the most. Like, I can see him feeling your contentment with that fact and vibing with it, shrugging with a little smile and being like “I’m not really human; we can be whatever we are together” you know? Also, when you said you didn’t like Guy’s explicit nature, I was trying to come up with his opposite in that respect, and Cam is who immediately came to mind.

Another reason I think Cam works well for you is that I feel his immortality will lend him a sort of… unrushed, unbothered attitude toward relationships. I can see him not needing to label what y’all have as romantic or platonic and just wanting to spend quality time with you, and it’d be such wonderfully quality time. Cam would be such a supportive partner while you pursue your degree, bringing you water or tea while you work. When you’re not studying, the two of you go on walks at night, Cam pointing out familiar constellations.

It took me a bit, but this is almost exactly the kind of vibe that I was thinking about. Like, it’s a little sad, because I think loving d(a)emons can be a little sad, but it’s mostly loving. It’s mostly about appreciating the little moments together and smiling about the time you’ve had versus crying when it’s over.

Runner-ups:

I like Anton as a runner-up because he had that same mild temperament that Cam does; if you had expressed displeasure at feeling separate from human nature, he would have just nudged forward in front of the serenity daemon. Sam is a good runner-up because he’d be a great night walk companion. I also think he’d commiserate, feeling separate from the human he once was, though he’d be leaning more negatively against it.

Royalty verse starter for @redemptioninchaos

“So... that was a fun meeting. Just took us, what, an hour before we finally got to some kind of agreement with those people we met? I mean, I knew it wouldn’t be easy but, geeze, these people aren’t making it easy.”

Vendra didn’t mean to rant, and to her brother of all people, but their most recent meeting had just left her so frustrated and exhausted. Who knew talking to people from other planets could be so draining. She knew the inhabitants of Polaris had a bit of a bad rumor but this was ridiculous. It was at times like these she wished she had her brother’s patience and easy going nature, he made things look so easy.

Either way, they were on their way back to the ship now, and she couldn’t wait to get back home and relax. No royal duties, important meetings, or anything of the sorts. Just... nothing. At least until the next day came, then she had to go back to it all along with Neftin. Their people needed them after all.

“Eh, it wasn’t that bad. I actually found it funny whenever they couldn’t think of any good answers.” She could hear her brother laughing loudly shortly after saying that, obviously not caring if anyone else heard them. I was just some small talk after all. “But it sure will nice getting back home, being royalty can be exhausting and- HEY!”

Neftin words were cut short after he felt something- or rather someone- bump into one of his legs, causing both him and his sister to stop. What was it now that had walked into the Nether? And how could they have missed him? He was quite big after all, a giant among his kind.

Hiya!! <3 My name is Thistle (she/them), and I'm definitely a Very Normal and Very Human student at Naranja Academy!! :D While I may not be a type specialist by any means, I have loved ghost types for as long as I can remember!! <3 So much so that I guess I became one!! This blog takes place in my AU, the Team Phantasm verse, so some story events might differ from how they played out in the games! This AU will contain horror elements, such as body horror, ghosts, and possession, and will include some heavy themes surrounding the death of a child character.

This will be clarified on more later, but Thistle cannot remember much about her life before the events of Legends: Arceus, including her name, so the events of Sun & Moon are extremely hazy and disjointed in her memories at the moment.
