Splitting this up into two posts one for Mayson and one for Lana because I wrote a lot. lol Mayson:

❤️- A happy memory that makes Mayson smile, the kindness Hank showed them that first night they met.

That cold autumn night seemed so long ago. But the concept of time was a weird thing, especially to a child. Android of human there was a certain way everything always seemed longer than it was. Unless you were having fun then it was over too quick. The night was actually only two years ago.

Mayson wasn't named Mayson then. The YK800, then known as his CyberLife given name: Connor, had taken a leap of faith when he grabbed Hank's hand that night. Fate had brought them together just when they both needed each other the most.

They had stopped on the way home he remembered. Hank left the car running with the heat on as he ran into a store. He returned with a coat for the boy and a piece of Thirium candy.

That was the first time the boy had remembered someone doing something nice for him. Not only treating him with kindness but also providing for him. The longer he was with Hank less he wanted to leave.

Then when they got home something else happened. He felt loved. As early on as it was for the two of them he still felt cared for. Hank tucked him into bed and Sumo jumped into bed with him. The cold and fear were gone. He was warm and happy.

He wanted to stay with the Andersons.

💙- A sad memory that makes Mayson cry, the lonely nights before he met the Andersons

It was a dark and cold night. The child had gotten used to nights like this. The abandoned warehouse barely offered any shelter but it was better than nothing. The old building didn't have any electricity either. It wasn't the best but he didn't know where else he could go. He didn't have anyone or anything.

The boy didn't know about New Jericho or the revolution. He didn't know anything about androids. He avoided grown-ups humans and androids. He didn't know who he could or couldn't trust and had been yelled at before by some particularly mean adults. He just needed some Thirium! Why did she yell at him?

A harsh wind blew against the building causing a whistle to rattle through his hiding spot and it also sent a shiver up his spine. Who knew androids could be so cold or could shiver from it? It wasn't fair.

A message appeared in his vision, his hud warning him about his low Thirium reserves. He didn't want to go out. He was scared of getting damaged. Why couldn't people just be nice?

💛- A memory that makes Mayson feel angry, watching bullies at school pick on other kids - and getting hurt and punished for standing up for the innocent

Mayson hated it when others were mean. It didn't even have to be directed at him. Just hearing one person bullying another would get the boy angry. He wouldn't have it. Especially if things got physical. That wasn't okay at all.

What made him madder was when he got in trouble for defending himself or standing up for others all the while the bully got away with no punishment or little to nothing done about their behaviors. That wasn't right. It just wasn't fair!

During one particular brutal incident, the main terror and bully of Mayson's school days Devon had pulled Mayson's arm at a painful angle. Not only did it hurt but Mayson saw a warning in his HUD. There was damage being done to his shoulder. He wiggled free and balled his hand into a tight fist turning on his attack and punching him right in the privates.

Both boys were pulled into the principal's office and had their parents called in. But as the day went on something become clear. Mayson was going to get in trouble and blamed for the entire incident while Devon would be let off easy.

When Hank came to pick him up, and for him to start his mandatory suspension, Devon's smirk almost made Mayson want to punch him all over again. But his injured arm was throbbing too much to worry about that dumb bastard this time around.

💚- A memory that makes Mayson feel guilty, the lies he's told his Dad

Mayson isn't one to have much of a guilty conscience. But that is mostly because he doesn't do many things he feels he should be guilty over. But there are a few memories that do make him feel guilty. He always felt bad when he lied to one of his Dads, although he didn't do it often.

One time in particular still guilts him, as he had yet to tell Hank the truth. It was a few months ago. Mayson and Cole were playing ball inside the house, something Hank had forbid and scolded them on several times before. But he wasn't home, so what would it hurt to play while he was gone?

Only a lamp had been broken on Mayson's backswing. There was no way to hide that. Dad was bound to notice a lamp was missing. What were they going to do? Cole, the typically better behaved of the two, had the perfect solution. They would hide the lamp and if Dad did notice and say something Cole would take the fall for it. Mayson had been recently punished and still technically grounded and neither boy wanted him in any more trouble. Trouble meant Mayson wouldn't be able to go to his other dad's on the weekends.

So that was exactly what happened. They hid the broken lamp, Hank found out and Cole took the fall for it. and Mayson didn't say a word about it.

💜- A memory about one of Mayson's loved ones, happy or sad, the first time he saw Hank get injured.

Mayson was still young enough that he saw his parents as invincible and that there wasn't anything they couldn't solve. So when he saw his Dad get hurt, even if it was minor, it shattered the boy's illusions and heart.

Both his Dads seemed so strong and having seen Hank recovering from a shooting of all things shook the boy more than anything else ever did in his young life. Fear and worry gripped him even after seeing his Dad alive and recovering. When he first got the news he was almost hesitant to visit Hank in the hospital. A common fear in young children facing the injury or illness of a parent.

But it was the relief he felt when he finally saw him, that Mayson remembers most. He entered the hospital room and paused, taking in the sight of his father in the bed. But then he couldn't help himself from charging the man and throwing himself at him.

Hank held him tight, hugging him in return. Everything was going to be alright. Mayson just felt it. His fears melted away and he smiled as his Dad ruffled his hair. "I'm alright kiddo." He told him.
