SALLY STARLET NAME-GIVING OBSERVATIONS

Okay, this is just a small theory, but I've noticed how Sally interacts with her fellow neighbors, and I have guesses on how she addresses them, and whether that shows her respect for them (which may change as the Welcome Home timeline becomes clearer to navigate).

To do so, I will list the characters based on whether they are the most or least respected, to make the tier list clear.

SALLY STARLET🌈⭐️: Mainly tiering her first for the ENORMOUS amount of self-respect she has. From that, we can see that she isn't one to lengthen, fancify, or change her moniker in any sort of way or form. She is, of course, Sally Starlet! The kind of pride and integrity that she has for herself is one of her more redeemable qualities, at least in my opinion.

POPPY PARTRIDGE🥧🧶: Sally's home-bodied galpal may be second on the list, but she is the only other neighbor that she constantly calls by her own name. Not to mention the fact that Poppy is the only neighbor that Sally will constantly praise for her talents, try to break out of her isolating lifestyle, and admit her mistakes and goof-ups to (which is something Sally has too much pride to do with any other neighbor)! From that, I can safely say that Sally holds Poppy in the highest regard (maybe even higher than platonically expected, we shall see), which shows through the lack of name fancification.

BARNABY B. BEAGLE🌭🎉: I am mainly putting Barnaby here for now, as he is the only other neighbor yet to be called a fancy moniker, but tends to get Sally riled up for the sake of it. It has often been stated how segments with Sally's plays will often be changed in some silly shape or form, mainly by Barnaby wanting to mess with her (similar to the Fractured Fairytales segment from Rocky and Bullwinkle). She could respect him as a fellow lover of theater and show-biz (as they play around a bit, like in Eddie's Big Lift), but I will hold off on speculations until the update next week.

JULIE JOYFUL💐🎳: This colorful character will be called both "Juliet" and her own name when Sally is exasperated with her. From their interactions, Sally seems to be patient enough around Julie and will be tolerant of the changes to stories and plays that she comes up with.

WALLY DARLING🎨🍎: Our gracious host will be called "Walliford" or his own name for similar reasons. Like any other neighbor, Sally has a fondness for Wally, despite his lack in acting skills, and will ask him for help with prop creation and directing assistance.

HOWDY PILLAR🐛🍓: The neighborhood grocer has only been called "Howardson". Sally seems to have no ill will toward Howdy, and will often call upon him for plays due to his acting skills (which unfortunately lead to advertising his store). Sally seemed to a jab at Howdy from time to time, but can easily be swayed by his scam tactics.

HOME🏡🥞: Has only been called by her own name, and we have yet to see any direct interactions between them and Sally.

FRANK FRANKLY🦋🍮: I have only heard Sally call Frank "Fred" while introducing him, so take that as you will (at least until there is a clearer timeline).

EDDIE DEAR✉️🥖: Poor, poor Eddie. He doesn't even get the privilege of being called a proper name. Sally will often refer to Mr. Dear as the "mailman", and will expect him to wait on her like a servant. To be clear, she isn't the only one to overwork or demean him because nearly every neighbor does so (with the exceptions of Wally, Poppy, and maybe Frank). But at least most neighbors have the decency to call Eddie by his name in any form (though this may show my bias, cause I kin Eddie in many respects).

Anywho, thats all I have to say for Sally, till the update! This is mainly just a drabble of sorts, but feel free to say your piece! Constructively, of course.

Everyday these incredible people will submit their updates and experience with the void concept tape I have and it will be an amazing experience to know what is the success rate of the void concept tape I made with this group of people who got low to mid-high self-concept! And they didn't use my self-concept tape!

The success rate was 100% with my clients who got the self-concept tape with coaching they are exactly 23 clients (25 clients right now) they needed tapes and entered/woke up in their void state normally some of them got a little coaching not too much - some other clients I am still coaching are experiencing many other things because (I am updating the void concept tape too much "🥹😭" - they got some little limiting beliefs and need more coaching (which is very easy to just let go of) - still working on their self-concept with the tape I have for self-concept) *important note: every single client I am coaching atm doesn't have all of the above!!! It's just one of these pointd! Or even a small part of it! They are literally getting thru too much and letting go of many things i see their experience as so special like someone coming to me very anxious and scared and rn they just think positively and love themselves it's like when a caterpillar 🐛 turns into a butterfly 🦋 - 🥹🫶🏻 that's why I love coaching and my clients even if they don't want me to share their success stories or even if they don't share something personal with me cause at the end of the day I feel so good that I am able to help them and assist them in their lives and change it in a short time 🥹🫶🏻!!

Also I have many and a lot of like custom things I added to protect my tape no one will be able to get results if they talked badly about me in the past and if they post it anywhere or give it to anyone it won't work at all and this is another layer I added you won't even hear it even if you focus 😭 but your subconscious mind gets it instantly once you listen which is so funny to me and it was so smart of me thinking about doing this lmao

Also it won't work after 48 hours if you don't submit the results and the updates with the void concept everyday on Google forms the link will be there everyday on the discord server 🥹

F&B's description of Helaena isn't that much different from TWOIAF — it only says she was plumper and not as strikingly beautiful as most Targaryens. She was pleasant and happy as a 13-year-old at her marriage (sigh grrm) to her brother Aegon, and gave birth to twins (Jaehaerys and Jaehaera) a year later, and to another boy (Maelor) 4 years after that.

However, by the time of Viserys's death she seemed somewhat displeased with Aegon to the point of sarcasm — when they came to her rooms to tell him his father died and he was king, Aegon wasn't there, and she was like, "Aegon's not in my bed, you can check under the blankets to make sure." As Aegon was actually (depending on the source) either in his mistress's bed, or in a skeevy den in Flea Bottom (featuring bloodsport of feral children) with an extremely underage prostitute, you can see why the years of marriage to him might try her patience.

Unfortunately, there's not a lot else about Helaena during the pre-war period. At the reconciliation banquet (that failed miserably), there's no mention that she minded that Jace asked her to dance, but Aegon was offended and things nearly came to blows. She was apparently close to her mother and close to her father and took her kids to visit them every day. Dreamfyre, her dragon, is described as "beloved". After the Green and Black coronations but before the war actually started, Helaena was in favor of a parley (along with her mother) instead of immediate outright war. Pretty basic until the war began, until "a son for a son", after which she became suicidally depressed. 😭

However, Helaena's daughter Jaehaera is described with terms that seem to be implying (by the author, not the in-world writer who doesn't have the knowledge or vocabulary) she was on the autism spectrum, some sort of neurodiversity — that is, lack of emotion and affect from infancy. It seems likely that HOTD is borrowing from Jaehaera for their version of Helaena, giving her some behaviors that a lot of neurodiverse fans are identifying with. Note that they've also made her a dreamer, like they also did with Viserys; there's no textual basis for either of them to be so, but the skeptic maester of record wouldn't know such details or likely believe in prophecies anyway. (Mind you there's also a popular epic fanfic where Helaena is a dreamer, but she's somewhat of a minor character and it's so au that it's almost certainly just a coincidence.)

Oh, also, here's an illustration from F&B (by Doug Wheatley) of Helaena and the kids visiting Viserys shortly before he died:

It's interesting, while the text says the twins listened attentively to the king's fantasy adventure tale while the 2-year-old Maelor played with a ring Viserys gave him, instead Wheatley chose to draw the boys enthralled by the story while Jaehaera ignores it, instead apparently fascinated by the ring. Makes me wonder if the text was changed last minute? Or if Wheatley read Jaehaera's earlier description and thought she'd be the one more into the ring than the story, and so picked it up when the baby dropped it? (But then the twins don't really look 6 and Maelor definitely doesn't look 2, plus it looks like Viserys has all his fingers, so I shouldn't be too picky.)

Either way, you can imagine the HOTD creators seeing this image and deciding that Jaehaera is how they'd like to characterize young Helaena. (Though with bugs instead of rings. 🐛🕷) We'll just have to wait for the next episodes to see how she's characterized as a young adult...

Learning, growing, and sharing the passion🐛🦋(U10)

Reflecting on my journey of developing my personal stance as a nature interpreter, I realize my ethos is deeply rooted in storytelling. While I would absolutely consider myself smart and capable of any challenge thrown my way, I wouldn't claim to be the one to ask for a perfectly articulated summary of a concept, or a history (or stats oh gosh...)) But! I am your girl if you want to talk about animals or nature with the same excitement and perception shifts you had as a kid; when learning about something like dinosaurs or other planets for the very first time and feeling like your mind was blown, or maybe even that the person was just making stuff up because of how wild it seemed.

At it’s core, my passion sings when having the chance to discuss niche topics with open-minds that delve into things like evolution, coming from the perspective that there are so many mysteries out there that could be unraveled if you only cared to look.

Just this week, some of these topics for me and some peers have included trying to understand bird tetrachromacy (how and why they can see in UV), mammals returning to the water like whales and dolphins, or how?? Literally how??? lemurs got to Madagascar.

To me, it's not just about sharing information, but having fun in the process and getting to share what you learn about the animals and their exploits in ways that would rival the wildest fantasy stories.

I've been playfully dubbed the "zookeeper of knowledge" by a friend in this context, after spending far too many hours working on a project because we kept getting side-tracked and discussing things not necessarily needed, but so incredibly interesting. (And it’s probably a title I'd gladly claim if it weren't so corny to be honest.) Regardless, it summarizes my commitment to becoming a curator of the captivating craziness that the animal kingdom has to offer. With a bias but passionate zoological perspective, I strive to share my spark of curiosity. ✨

Beyond my zoology lens, I strive for a focus on eco-consciousness in the work that I do, hoping to bridge the gap between science and the public and to foster stronger connection with Mother Nature.

As for translating these passions to children, I’m a firm believer in both transparency and honesty. While it’s almost guaranteed they won’t enjoy their first climate change lesson, I think forming traits of environmental stewardship and the understanding that actions have environmental consequences in children is critical if we want our passion for nature to be held by future generations. I remember my first lonely polar bear on a drifting ice berg video, and yes I was sad….but it left a vivid mark on my consciousness, shaping my understanding of the environmental challenges we face and it very likely brought me to where I am today.

Speaking of inspiring children, I cannot hold myself back as I have to show you guys what I found last week!

I'm not even that much of a Barbie fan but I think now I have to be! I would have exploded with joy if I had this as I kid! I mean, if Barbie is doing it, I can't even imagine how many little girls will now be exposed to the possibility of studying zoology or similar topics and I won't lie...I could cry 🥹 (not to mention how close the koala is to a lemur and my personal goals regarding that....interesting......verrry interesting 🔮)

Though I still think going outside with curiosity in mind is the number one way to develop a relationship with nature, I’d consider things and representations like this even more important in places like cities, where natural spaces are becoming less and less accessible due to never-ending infrastructure and the digital domination of screens and virtual experiences.

The allure of video games and online platforms often out-win outdoor activities at least in my own anecdotal experience, raising concerns about the disconnect between the younger generation and the natural world. I think environmental educators are becoming more and more important in schools, and I believe they play a pivotal role in counteracting this trend, as they offer opportunities for a child to focus on wonders within the natural world. I had a hard time myself trying to sound reasonable to many of my friends and family as a kid when saying I wanted to study animals and nature since technology was progressing so quickly and I was viewed as looking backwards.

and so I think this doll (or things similar) can reinspire or hold that flame when kids aren't yet to sure if they'll find a nice outdoor spot to explore, an educator excited to answer questions, or a community like Guelph that embraces natural sciences so much.

In my opinion, harsh climate crisis truths can surely be sugar-coated for young minds to an extent, but to completely wait until their old enough to ‘actually understand’ is just providing the perfect opportunity for a child to become a distracted or oblivious teenager or adult. Again, this is my opinion but at this point in time, in a current climate crisis with almost no signs of slowing down, being an adult in a country like Canada and purposely ignoring it is NOT cool!!

Now, we don’t have to live every moment with the weight of the world on our shoulders, and I don’t wish that on anyone! But I believe the absolute bare minimum is to consider our actions in relation to nature and provide the next generation the building blocks and exposure they'll need to make environmentally conscious choices. Concepts like reusable water bottles over disposable plastic ones, not littering, and realizing our planet belongs to others too aren’t scary things and if anything, promote cultures of care and community. These seemingly simple ideas start to lay the foundation for responsible and conscious individuals to gladly carry the torch of environmental awareness into the future!

Anyways, that's what's up with me, and so I hope you've found at least one thing on my blog that made you think about, reconsider, or learn something, and maybe even want to go hug a tree 💝🐛

1. Are you named after anyone? No, my mom says she just always liked the name Kaitlyn. 2. When was the last time you cried? Tears of sadness or tears of joy? I cried today, but it’s good. I went through so much discovery and growth, that I find myself crying tears of joy more often than tears of sadness nowadays. Even after having to finally go deep into myself and finally take out some difficult memories and heal them after I never wanted to think about them again, I feel better now than I ever could have if I had left those things locked inside. I may look young and fresh, but this is not my first life. 3. Do you have kids? No, not yet, but I definitely plan on it. I also have some names planned and locked in. I’ve known what I wanted to name a son since I was in middle school. 4. Do you use sarcasm a lot? No, but I think I crack a lot of jokes now. When I was a teen I don’t think I was as funny as I am now.  5. What sports do you play/have you played? Never did any sports seriously in this life, but my dad passed me his genes for being good at shooting hoops in basketball. 6. my one caveat to this one is that you are the one that's written my favorite trent-centric fics (esp lost sight of (who you are) that fic makes me so insane) BUT here's a few that aren't yours!!

cracked rear view by hunnyhawk is. it!!! hhrhnsasdxcgshcxdg!! yeah so i have such a weakness for siken and i think a lot of trent's life as like. a gay man in the media centered on one of the most macho man subjects rife with homophobia really mirrors the panic that underlines all of siken's work and i love this fic for drawing those parallels!!

What Do You Love? by thegables!!!! god. god. like what i said before about cracked rear view but also just like. as much as i love the idea of trent being emblematic of the Journalism Experience i also love the idea that there's a part of him that just Cant Be the vicious uncaring journalist feeding into and becoming the intrusive nature of working in the media and that part of his growth is realizing that that inability to truly be that isnt a bad thing??? i love this fic

LAST BUT NOT LEAST all of the Headlines, Deadlines series by laiqualaurelote but especially the trent-centric fics <333 as someone that has worked in journalism (at least on a school level) i love how much these fics really dig into like. for lack of better wording the "good" parts of journalism?? when i go to college in the fall i'll be studying law, but my dream job would really be legal journalism, and these fics really reminded me how much i love journalism as an industry, despite the flaws it's rife with. constant as a northern star (constantly in the dark) especially has my heart because i love sachiko and she is the ONLY character i can ever see as trent's wife.

3 - What playlists do you have on your phone?

Another interesting playlist I have - Soft Bangtan. It's a playlist with the softest/peaceful BTS (and solos) songs to fall asleep to 💜 I don't use it much these days, but it's there when I need it.

4 - Do you like cooking or baking more?

Just answered this, so instead let me tell you the things I like to do more. For cooking - pasta. Specifically, fusilli pasta with a tomato sauce base, and whatever I find on the fridge. Preferably chicken or mushrooms! For baking, brownies. I love them, and I've perfected my recipe over the years hehe.

10 - What's your favorite book?

I think I've answered this question before, but I can never give a straight answer. Chronicles of Narnia and The Picture of Dorian Gray are pretty up there. Poetry books - Bukowski and E A Poe are my all time favourite authors. I think I don't have a favourite book per se, simply a few that are close to my heart, and whatever I feel like given my current state of mind.

A book that has stayed with me for a very long time and that I often revisit is "It's Kind Of A Funny Story" by Ned Vizzini. It's about a teenage boy who spends a few days in the adult mental ward after a suicide attempt. It's a very nice and pleasant read, given the subject, and I see myself in a loot of scenes. The movie is also amazing - I can never get through it without crying 🥲
