In today's episode of "I have so many work-related things to do but I chose to do another task that's outside of work" aka Rain's Procrastination Diaries (lmao) (can also be known as "Rain's excuse to not open her textbooks and study for the upcoming JLPT"), I decided to translate this song.
Idk if it's just me (yes Rain it's definitely just you) but this feels... morbid af. While I was translating this, I got the feeling that the speaker was just waiting for *his time*, the end of his life (as referenced by "the last page", and also the last line of the song, "Tonight, (if) I can close my eyes."
But well, I also realized that it doesn't have to be that morbid. It could be a song for a point in time before someone moves forward, like closing another chapter of one's life. But idk I still go back to my first feeling HAHA. If you wanna share your thoughts about the song please do!!
God this album really is such a trip. This is definitely one of the many reasons why I love Report so much as it made me think so much while I translated the songs in this album (Hajimari no Asa, Inu ka Kyatto ka, Equal (GAH EQUAL I LOVE EQUAL SO MUCH IT HURTS), Trailer; planning to translate Rolling next...probably next year HAHA jk) ;__;

Higedan’s Editorial album is easily one of my favorite albums of all time.
Their music is so rich and textured, and their lyrics cinematic and relatable at the same time. Overall just a consistently amazing musical act.
(related note: 115万キロのフィルム (115man Kilo no Film) or 1.15 Million Kilometer Film from their earlier album, Escaparade, is an absolute masterpiece. The official live version they released felt like an explosion of passion, ugh i love it so much)
