Glancing up from the broken-down guardian she was studying, Kira looked at the blond heroine when she spoke. What was Robin referring to, exactly? These guardians? Or, most likely, ancient knowledge itself? Kira spent most of her life learning about these relics of the past. She wanted to understand what happened a hundred years ago...as well as try to fix the state Hyrule was in now.

"Well... To start with, aren't they interesting? I don't have many connections, so I don't know anyone who was alive when Hyrule Castle fell. This is the only way I can piece together what happened. Plus, learning about ancient Sheikah technology may be the key to defeating Calamity Ganon once and for all, and I want to do whatever it takes to help. And, of course... Learning about this technology let me meet you."

With Midna back on her throne, there was a lot for her to do here in the Twilight Realm. She wanted to prove to her people that she could be a better princess, a better queen, than she showed when she was exiled from her world. It was utterly boring to have so much royal work to get done, but it wasn’t like she had a choice.

The princess glanced up from her work when she sensed the wolven man’s gaze on her. Purple lips curled at the edges in an amused smirk—yes, there was a jolt of guilt every time she looked at the poor “hero” and what he has become, but his presence was still a pleasant one.

“What? Is something on your mind~?” Midna asked as her smirk grew just a bit, amused by the look of exasperation in his eyes. “Are you sad I’m too busy to play with you now~?” It was kind of cute, actually… The little pout he gave her, a sign that her “wolf” needed some attention.

The princess stopped in her tracks, turning around when she heard the blonde cry out to her. Midna knew this was coming, and she should have prepared herself for the pain she would feel. She knew Robin would try to get her to stay. She knew it would hurt, but she didn't anticipate this much pain... Midna knew she should keep going, walk to the Mirror of Twilight, and quickly leave before her resolve was swayed. But she couldn't...

She fully turned to face the Hylian. Her heart ached in her chest, but she knew nothing could be done. This was the way things had to go. Her mind told her not to touch Robin, that it would only hurt more if she did, yet she still placed her hands on the blonde's shoulders. She convinced herself it was to feel her one last time.

Midna tried to offer her a smile. "Dumb dog... I have to go back to my people. They don't have a leader anymore..." Her smile then faded as she glanced back at the Mirror of Twilight. She was going to shatter it once and for all, but no one else knew that. "Besides...you know shadow and light can't mix."
